in my head zack was never a gormogon's apprentice. in my head all interns are friends and often hang out together. it's just like the lab au. but daisy have a girlfriend. zack and sweets kiss. vincent and wendell also kiss. everyone is queer. cause I said so.

my ffvii ships new years kisses:

- zakkura: zack gets really giddy and excited and kisses cloud as soon as new years hits, flustering cloud really badly in the process but afterwards they both cant help but smile at each other and giggle

- asg: they’re all about to just go for it but then they need to pause for a moment as they realize theres three of them… they debate trying to figure out how to make a three-way kiss work but quickly realize that wont work as they all literally butt heads, so instead they have to debate which pair kisses first and just alternate until they all get their kisses from each other, but it takes quite a while because if its genesis and angeal, sephiroth will get upset, he already feels like the odd one out in the relationship, but if its angeal and sephiroth, genesis will absolutely get jealous and throw a fit, so ultimately angeal takes one for the team and decides to let sephgen have the first kiss, and then they promptly decide to shower angeal with love and kisses afterwards, so he doesn’t feel upset about it

- tsengru: rufus goes in for the kiss immediately but tseng, being the rational one, puts his hand up to stop rufus and looks around to make sure no one else is looking, and once he’s sure the coast is clear he lets rufus kiss him, holding up his champagne(?) glass to block the view of their lips from anyone else (i dont know what people drink for new years or many kinds of glasses…)

- renorude(?): they’re absolutely all over each other, like full on making out, even before the countdown, without a care in the world, even as the excitement dies down and everyone else is done kissing, reno and rude are still going at it, leaving everyone else to just kind of awkwardly stare at the spectacle and just pray that they keep their clothes on

- aerti: they’re holding hands and leaning against each other, and as new years hits they both look at each other and giggle happily, just full of nothing but love as aerith leans in and kisses tifa, even as tifa seems a bit bashful about it

- tuestine(?): reeve is really reserved and nervous about it, but lets vincent lean in for the kiss first and then gently pulls down the collar(?) of vincent’s cape hiding the lower half of his face, making sure vincent’s okay with it first, and then they kiss, soft quick and sweet, though reeve is still a bit of a blushing mess that doesn’t know how to keep himself together afterwards

- valenwind: cid just grabs vincent by his stupid collar and pulls him down and gracelessly kisses him

thinking about zack and how upset he was by sweets' death that he had a mental breakdown and gave himself a scar and now that scar is a constant reminder every time he looks in the mirror of the only person who believed him and kept in touch with him and loved him dare i say during his time incarcerated and a reminder of the worst day of his life when he lost that person holy shit who's chopping onions in here i'm not crying YOU are

While for comic relief reasons, he's often shown as 'uncultured' or somewhat naive (in this episode, not realizing the shopkeeper was asking for a bribe, and seemingly not knowing what a bribe is), that doesn't stop him from being smart in his own way. His trick with the watches was very neat and was working really well. He was Invested

spent like 40 minutes this morning listening to the recording of a twitter space where japanese aod fan bought an official aod anime english dub and went on talking about different approaches to the source material in the translation while admitting to understand little to no english words. she dutifully replayed some of the moments to highlight her thoughts and observations, as well as to share some of the research she's done on particularly interesting phrases (Zack's "peekaboo" from the first episode notebly being one of them)

i literally couldn't stop smiling the whole time because hey, we do that too! as international fans we overanalyze the words used in the source material all the time! we also may not understand all of the phrases! we do our research just to excitedly gush about the implications and the context around certain words! and we also compare translations with the original!!

knowing that jp fans can treat a translation with just as much passion and care is such a delight! feels like a gentle handshake from overseas full of mutual understanding

since sephiroth seems to have some sort of aversion to being photographed, i would like to think that in a better universe he would take up photography as a hobby! sort of as a way to take back and reclaim something he associated with negative emotions!

he would take pictures of things important to him and things that made him happy so he could start associating photographs with fond memories and the people he loves! he would take pictures of zack and cloud during whatever goofy shenanigans they got up to! and he would photograph genesis and angeal any chance he could, preserving the happy, silly, and romantic moments that they would share!

genesis, angeal, zack and cloud would indulge in sephiroth’s hobby, wanting to help sephiroth as much as they can! and over time he would slowly warm up to the idea of being in the pictures himself with angeal, genesis, zack and cloud right by his side the entire time! and eventually he really would grow more comfortable with being photographed, because now he can associate it with love and joy as opposed to the negativity and trauma he previously felt
