Warnings: !!NOT SPOILER FREE!! Set in the killing game, some slight angst, and mentions of blood and injury, but no death.

Other: Established relationship, though it's not super obvious. Also, this one is long!! (also also don’t ask about the logistics okay I didn’t think too hard about the cannon deaths timeline)

A/N: The motivation for this one was crazy I banged this out in just a couple of hours. Anyways!! Please excuse any mischaracterizations, but if you want any other characters feel free to request them!! (Not just the first game!! I write for any of them + the anime!!)

When he found you, you were in the fourth-floor music room.

You had lacerations all along your body, unconscious in a small puddle of your own blood

He and Mondo were together, and when they saw the door to the music room ajar, they decided to investigate, but once Taka saw your body, he just screamed, which attracted the others

Kyoko quickly realizes the lack of body discovery announcement and checks your pulse, stating that you’re alive

He Mondo carries you to the nurse’s office

He cries like…so much

He and Mondo stay with you in the nurse's office and patch you up, Mondo kinda acting as a guard dog, not letting anyone near you, and Taka doing his best to keep himself and Mondo calm while they wait for you to wake up

Once you do, he’s once again, in tears

He’s barely able to resist the urge to pull you into a hug, instead, he grabs your hands

He’s just so happy that you’re okay!!

He’s too relieved that you’re okay that he forgets to ask if you remember who attacked you, so Mondo does that

When you say you don’t, his worry increases ten-fold

What if they don’t find out who did it? What if they attack you again while you’re still healing and end up actually killing you? What if they attack someone else?

Insists on having a non-official class trail in the dining hall, and Kyoko ends up taking the lead as most people didn’t investigate because you hadn’t died

The one who attacked you was Genocider Syo

Why? You were ‘flirting’ with Byakuya

You laughed at him because he made a stupid face after Makoto said something he disagreed with. 

She cornered you and cut you up, but intentionally didn’t kill you and avoided lethal areas

Toko didn’t know but doesn’t feel bad

Syo gets shunned, so by proxy, Toko does as well

Though they didn’t interact with the others, other than Byakuya, who doesn’t treat her any different than normal so…

When he found you, you were in the second-floor pool area

You had one stab wound in your abdomen, the knife lying next to you on the ground, you were unconscious in a pool of your own blood

Hina arranged for everyone to meet up at the pool to hopefully have some fun and get their mind off of the killing game for a while, so Mondo and a group of a few other guys were the ones to find you

He starts yelling at everyone around, which causes the girls to go investigate as well

Taka is the only one able to calm him down enough to tell him that you’re still breathing

It’s then he takes action, scooping you up and booking it to the nurses' office

Taka doesn’t yell at him for running in the halls for once

He tries to patch you up himself, but he has limited knowledge of how to do all this in the first place, and his hands shaking and his vision being clouded with tears aren’t helping either

So Taka does it for him while he holds your hands and cleans the blood off of you

Doesn’t want to let anyone close to you, other than Taka and maybe Kyoko, but even then he watching her closely

Does ask Kyoko to find out who did this

Also, he’s like…really pissed

Like infuriated

Swears he’ll kill whoever hurt you

When you wake up, he instantly scoops you up in a hug, accidentally squeezing your wound and hurting you

Almost drops you when you wince

He is hesitant to touch you at all after that because he hurt you!!

Of course, he asks if you remember who attacked you

When you say you don’t, he feels his temper kinda flare

He’s not mad at you, of course, but at the person who had hurt you

The one who attacked you was Leon Kuwata

Claims it was in self-defense because he thought you were a killer

In actuality, you just turned a corner and he was there with a knife, and tried to kill you!!

When it gets revealed that Leon did it, Sakura has to hold Mondo back so he doesn’t kill him

Leon is shunned, and Mondo is weary of everyone but Taka

Doesn’t let you out of his sight for a long while

˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡⟢Aoi Asahina

When she found you, you were in the Science Lab Storage Room

You had a large impact wound on your head, blood pouring from the wound, and you, of course, were unconscious

When Aoi spotted you, she wasted no time rushing over to you

So she finds out that you’re still alive very quickly

She scoops you up and rushes you over to the nurse's office, tears streaming down her face

Thankfully, whoever attacked you hadn’t cracked your skull, just broke the skin

Once you’re safe in the nurse's office, and she’s patching you up the others arrive, having seen her running through the halls with your body in her arms

Sakura is the one who comforts her the most, a few of the others go to the scene to see what had happened.

At the scene, they find a wooden mallet, after some inspection Kyoko confirms it was the weapon, the size matching the wound on you

Once you’re patched up, she asks Sakura to keep an eye on you and she asks Kyoko and Makoto to help her question everyone to see if they can find out who did it

Byakuya would probably also help, but only because he doesn’t want to be attacked next and they need to find out who the dangerous ones are

After a while, Hina checks back in on you, to see that you’re awake!

She gently hugs you, careful to avoid the wound, and cries, saying how thankful she is that you’re okay

Asks if you can remember what exactly happened

When you can’t she feels bad that she wasn’t there to protect you

The one who attacked you was Hifumi Yamada

He had attacked you under Celeste’s instruction (Like the third trial of the game), but he hit too soft and in the wrong spot, so you ended up surviving

Hifumi would fess up almost immediately, spilling everything he knows about the plan and why

They both get shunned, Celeste refusing to acknowledge him after that

˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡⟢Kyoko Kirigiri

When she found you, you were in the second-floor hallway

You were slumped against a wall, in an out-of-the-way area, with a few bruises on your body, but most importantly was a large impact wound on the back of your head, a splatter of blood on the wall showing where your head had been slammed against it

She very quickly notices that you’re not dead, and may or may not let out a sigh of relief

Thankfully, a few people are nearby, namely Makoto, Sakura, and Hina

Calmly asks Sakura to carry you to the nurse’s office, and for Hina to accompany you to help patch you up

She’s calm, mostly because she noticed the wound was only skin-deep

She stays to examine the scene, because even though you hadn’t died, you almost did, and she wants to figure out who attacked you

For everyone’s safety…but noticeably yours

It’s harder than investigating deaths, funnily enough, but she is able to gather some clues from the scene and starts to question the others

Once you wake up, she’s by your side as soon as she hears

One part to comfort you, another to see if you knew who had attacked you

You didn’t, but that’s okay, she's a detective, she’ll figure it out

If you want her to stay with you she will, but if you don’t mind either way, she’s going back to questioning the others

The one who attacked you was Mondo Owada

It was a heat-of-the-moment attack, and he didn’t even realize the damage he’d caused

He’d cave the second Kyoko put the smallest amount of pressure, apologizing profusely

Since he seems genuinely remorseful, half of the others are only slightly weary, while the other half shun him

Kyoko will only forgive him if you do, if you don’t however, she won’t either

˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡⟢Sakura Ogami

When she found you, you were in Classroom 1-A

You had a stab wound on your shoulder, and another one in your side, the knife nowhere to be found

She and Hina had been wandering around together, but after catching a glimpse of blood they busted into the room, both shocked to see your body covered in blood and two stab wounds

Sakura is almost too stunned to move until Hina sees your chest move as you breathe

Sakura scoops you up, she and Hina are silent as they take you to the nurse's office

They patch you up, also in silence

Sakura is seething, though (You remember when Hina got attacked by Syo? Yeah, like that but even more since you’re so badly hurt)

Almost crushed the bottle of medicine she was holding

Once you’re properly patched up, she requests a moment alone

Even though you’re asleep, she grabs your hands and kisses the backs of them, quietly promising to not let any more harm come to you

She checks in on you frequently and stays for long periods of time, just in case you wake up

You thankfully wake up when she’s around, and she’s right by your side

Again, gently takes your hands

After a long stretch of silence, she asks if you remember what happened, or who attacked you

When you say you don’t, she doesn’t press or ask any more questions related to that

Will give you a protein shake

The one who attacked you was Sayaka Maizono

She had meant to kill you to escape, but stabbing people is much harder and much more traumatizing than she had anticipated

She gets shunned, even by Makoto

˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡⟢Genocider Syo

She actually didn’t find you first, Toko did, but Toko fainted and Syo fronted, finding you in the third-floor Rec room

Freaks out, and runs into the hallway, chasing the nearest person down, putting her scissors to their neck, and threatening them

This person happens to be Makoto, and not far behind him is Kyoko, so the three went back to your body

Kyoko informs her that, while you aren’t dead, you will be if they don’t act quick

So, she scoops you up and runs you to the nurse's office

She tries to patch you up but doesn’t really know how resulting in loose bandages and her panicking over your body

Makoto and Kyoko are not too long after, and they help, though not without Syo watching their every move and threatening them if they make a wrong move

After they're done patching you up though, she makes them take at least three steps back

Stays in the nurse's office until you wake up, keeping everyone away

She even goes as far as to threaten Byakuya

She takes every step possible to keep herself from sneezing or passing out, so Toko doesn’t front

When you wake up, she grabs your hands and smiles in an oddly tender moment

Then asks if you remembers who attacked you, and then follows up by asking if she can kill them

When you say you don’t, she offers to torture everyone until she finds the attacker

Thankfully you don’t have to answer that, as Kyoko comes in, saying she knows who did it

The one who attacked you was Byakuya Togami

You’d ended up preventing a murder, getting everyone to get along, and ignore the motive this time

He thought the game was getting boring, so he took matters into his own hands

He hadn’t meant to injure you so severely, but he figured he hadn’t killed you, and you probably wouldn’t die from blood loss, so he left you there

Syo was furious and chased Byakuya down, Sakura and Hina having to hold her back so she wouldn’t kill him

Instead, she hurls insults at him, and the next few times she fronts, she tries to kill him all over again

⋆⁺｡˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚｡⁺⋆

˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡⟢Toko Fukawa (This one is a continuation of Syo’s!!)

She wouldn't front again until after it was revealed that Byakuya was the one who attacked you

When she next fronts, she’s confused

Firstly, she thinks you’re dead

You’re not, thank god

Secondly, you got attacked

Not very good

And thirdly, the person who attacked you Byakuya?

Toko immediately starts hurling insults at him, much like Syo had

She wonders how she’d ever liked someone so rotten

She hadn’t been obsessed with him for a while, but she still held a lot of respect for him up until now

Byakuya gets shunned, but he hadn’t interacted with the others much before this, so it doesn’t affect him too badly

The only real difference is that Toko insults him every time she sees him

Hey hey hey here for some Tokomaru and tsumioda hcs

Ah yes. The lesbians ever.

Tokomaru:

- Toko bases a character off Komaru in every book she writes. She never admits to it, but Komaru knows.

- Toko loves to steal sweaters. It’s a sickness.

- Komaru calls Toko “Toki” a lot later on into the relationship. Toko acts like it hates it, but it internally melts every time.

- Syo is an introject of a famous unsolved murder case, and a protector altar. Surprisingly, she approved of Komaru almost immediately. (Accurate and positive DID representation makes me go uweeheehee!)

- Komaru shows Toko what a healthy relationship looks like.

- Toko: Th-This is the n-nicest thing anyone’s ever d-done for me…!

- Komaru: Toki, I just got you some boba. The bar is set in the crust of the earth.

- Komaru forcing Toko to take batter care of itself because she loves it.

- Toko was actually the first to say “I love you.” She then proceeded to not talk to Komaru for seven days.

- Toko never really got over the whole “My Girlfriend Can See Ghosts” thing. Komaru uses it to mess with it sometimes.

- She just drops it into casual conversation and Toko’s like “shutupshutupshutup”.

- Komaru loves hugs she lives for hugs she will cry if Toko stops hugging her for even a single second.

- Movie nights forever!!

Tsumioda:

- Ibuki likes to call Mikan “Mickey” (like the mouse).

- Mikan is very sensitive to loud noises, so Ibuki tries to watch her noise level when around her.

- She doesn’t always succeed, but after she yells she immediately starts aggressively shushing herself while Mikan just watches like *dreamy sigh*.

- Who nurses Mikan back to health? Ibuki!!! Badly!!!

- Ibuki cuts and dyes her own hair, and keeps trying to get Mikan to let her do clouds hair as well.

- Mikan: I hate that m-my hair is so as-symmetrical…

- Ibuki: Ooh! Ibuki can do your hair!

- Mikan: … M-Maybe it’s not s-so bad…

- Ibuki literally never shuts up about her girlfriend. She’ll talk your ear off regardless, but when it comes to Mikan. Oh boy. Holy shit.

- It’s a running game in the class. “How Long Can Ibuki Talk Without Being Interrupted or Passing Out from Oxygen Deprivation?”

- The current time to beat is five hours. All of which were spent discussing how Mikan cheered for her at her latest concert.

- Mikan knows that Ibuki gets headaches, so cloud makes sure to leave medicine and comfort food for her when she gets home.

- Ibuki screams every time.

- Mikan listens to GHOST and Pals and cries to the lyrics before sending them to Ibuki. Ibuki has no symbolic literacy, and is just jamming out like “This song reminds me of my girlfriend! I like this song!!”

Can you talk about Komaru x Kokichi more?

Their a bit interested and I wanted to know more about their relationship!!!

This is a ship held together with one piece of art and my danganronpa headcanons truly, which I will be glad to share.

First off, Komaru's a jock with a love of fun, while I wouldn't call Kokichi a jock he CERTAINLY has a lot of energy and a love of fun himself. I could EASILY see him coming out of nowhere, slamming a hand on her arm, and yelling TAG and Komaru does not HESITATE to give chase beyond some mild complaining as she runs that she was doing something! Komaru has so much energy and gets SO into things, even in the middle of murder demon hunting city she's getting excited about puzzles and doing fun voices, Kokichi would LOVE that.

Kokichi's a nerd at heart and Komaru's a bit of a nerd as well, Kokichi likes anime, manga, and games, they could absolutely have in depth conversations about some of Kokichi's interests in pop culture that he doesn't normally have people to talk about, they ARE friends on Pokemon Go. Kokichi HAS beaten her in yugioh 20 times in a row. While Komaru is more of a 'girls' manga person then shounen, she's definitely still likely a fan of the more popular series. Komaru is picking up his yugioh references, he is finally vindicated in making them. Like she reads manga about a girl with a bomb inside her, Komaru's into some NICHE stuff.

Komaru is gullible but she's also smart, so while she's definitely falling for a lot of lies at first, she's going to get a lot better at spotting them over time, and may even lie back to him, which he won't mind because komaru is a TERRIBLE liar so it's just kinda funny. If Komaru can become best friends with Toko and Syo, Kokichi isn't going to be as much of a challenge if Komaru decides she wants to hang out with him. Her ability to just take things as they are, means even if Kokichi spouts the most outrageous lies she'll give a fond sigh and be like "that's our Kokichi."

With Komaru's sense of justice, she'd be willing to help Kokichi a lot with minor pranks, she is laughing when shuichi runs headfirst into clear tape like those videos. However her determination and sense of doing what's right means she can also better stand up to Kokichi when he's in the wrong or doing something risky.

As most of his organization, if not all of it besides Kokichi, would be untalented, I have always felt like kokichi would have a secret respect and curiosity not many other talented have for the untalented along with a skepticism towards the authority of the ultimates.

Sure the ultimate artist can make something beautiful, but Kokichi is looking for a sense of soul, a sense of emotion, something that screams "I AM HERE, YOU CANT ERASE ME" things that challenge society, challenge perceptions, and you don't really get that with ultimates due to ultimates being the upper echelon of society that should be challenged. Komaru is so herself, and so driven, she puts soul into everything she does, and I think Kokichi would respect that a bit. I think Kokichi would love to see what she was capable of if he put a can of spraypaint in her hand and pushed her towards a blank wall.

So with both of them being childish at heart energetic people who put passion and soul into everything they do along with being total dorks in secret, I could easily see them getting along. Komaru's down for whatever Kokichi will throw her way as a challenge, and Kokichi's down for seeing what this strange girl who society says should be a nobody is going to do to change that world who tries to stop her. Even if you don't want them romantically, I think they'd become really good friends if given the chance as Komaru helps him put itching powder in everyone's clothes with a few sarcastic comments about Kokichi being a bad influence.

Also I like calling it Komouma instead of oumaru because then it feels like im tricking people into thinking my posts going to be komaeda you FOOLS get TRICKED.

-Chikage, Camus and hisoka have met eachother once during their organisation life

-Tsuzuru and Reiji are essentially the big brothers of mankai

-Taichi swears that if he has one more energy drink, he’ll be able to reach peak performance

-Syo admires Tasuka for being really strong

-Sakyo’s job is a lot harder since the electricity bills and sweets have gone up

-Misumi, Azuma, Reiji and Tenma have connections with all the elderly women in the area

-Taichi and Syo get along pretty well

-Taichi also would ask Ren for advice with the women

-Matsukawa and Reiji are living their best life, being bullied

-Otoya and Sakuya having deep talks of their non-existent parents

-Ai and Misumi can understand Triangles, they are pretty neat

-Ai and Tenma kinda don’t know how the world works but it’s okay

-Muku’s anxiety is getting up again? Reiji had to deal with it a lot due to being a child actor, he has some tips and tricks

-Misumi starts missing home? Reiji is there to tell them that it’s okay

-Kazunari doesn’t know what he should do? Reiji is there to help weigh his options

-Reiji is amazing as a big brother

hello! i’m once again challenging myself this month by attempting to put out several collections of ishimaru-centric content from the 4komas (and one anthology comic) leading up to his birthday at the end of the month. seeing as i’m already behind the schedule i put myself on, we’ll see how this goes.

obviously these aren’t the only comics from the third 4koma volume that he features in, but these are some of the ones he features in more prominently/needed a few extra to throw in just to make it look nice! forgive my awful frankensteining of putting comics together, but i was worried about how it’d look on tumblr otherwise. images are in order from left to right, but when referring to the summaries under the cut, the comic on the right is listed first, and the left is listed second; following the way that manga is actually formatted.

disclaimer, i’m not fluent in japanese, nor would i call this a perfect translation, just a rough one to get the basic understanding! i have the comics individually on imgur with fuller translations (i didn’t finish translating the sfx orz i’m sorry), i only have rough summaries under the cut here!

(i’d also like to briefly disclaimer that the 4komas are gag comics, i.e. meant to be taken jokingly. that doesn’t necessarily mean i agree with some of the things that are used for jokes here, like hifumi being used as a joke simply for his weight or syo’s fetishization [of gay men] as a fujoshi)

as for usage: if you’re going to use the raws for anything, or reference the rough translation that i’ve given, i’d appreciate some credit (via a reblog is fine!), or a link back! however, such is not necessary, and otherwise, you’re free to use however you wish, since the only thing i really own are these particular scans.

1:   Gutsy Chihiro-Chan  by Akazuki Sho : The general jist of this one is that Chihiro tries to be strong by interupting Mondo and Kiyotaka’s arguing...only to be interrupted and pushed around when they try to do so.

Handsome Guy Criteria  by Akazuki Sho :  Because Genocider Syo’s targets are ‘handsome guys’, the boys in this comic feel safe. Byakuya tells them to take a look at the profiles [the joke being here that Syo’s targets aren’t exactly ‘handsome’, resulting in them feeling less safe]

2:  Heart-Pounding Ticket  by Watarizora Tsubamemaru  :  Syo gives Kiyotaka an outing ticket (school mode). Kiyotaka’s under the impression that he’s speaking to Toko, and presumes she wants to study with him. Syo however, wants him to use the ticket to ‘ask out’ Makoto, and the pair are confused about how this outcome is enjoyable for her.

It's also troublesome to explain  by Itagaki Hako :   Makoto concludes how the killer could commit the crime. Kiyotaka isn’t fully satisfied, and inquires about the relevance of the killer’s clothing to the crime. When he receives no response, he asks what’s wrong, saying Makoto’s deductioning was fine.

3:   Needless concern  by  Nananse Ichika :  Kiyotaka expresses concern that Makoto’s shoes don’t fit him, and gifts him a set of ‘properly fitting shoes’. The implication here being that these are a pair of boots (either a pair of Kiyotaka’s or ones similar to his), as Makoto notices a sudden height difference, and finds it overwhelming-- as Kiyotaka remarks that he’ll take care of getting rid of his old ones, Makoto yells at him to give it back.

Disturbance   by  Natsuka Kudan  :   Kiyotaka remarks on the way the other students dress, saying that they should be more like Toko (in the sense that she follows dress code). As Kiyotaka comments on how perfect [in a public morals sense] it is, Toko sneezes and causes Syo to emerge, and he retracts his statement.

4:  First Impressions by Kawashima Rumi   :  Kiyotaka wakes up in the classroom at the beginning of the game, under the impression that he’d accidentally fallen asleep, he thinks he’s a failure [as a morals committee member], and barges into the entrance hall asking to be punished [by the teacher].  It then transitions to Kiyotaka introducing himself, noting that people [here] refer to him as ‘M’, to which Makoto suggests has to do with his bangs. [It seems to imply that this is the ‘punishment’ Monokuma gave him, although this is still a little...odd, I guess. Maybe because Monokuma or Mastermind start with the letter M? ]

Forced to make a detour by Kawashima Rumi  :  Based on the conversation between Makoto and Kyoko in Chapter Three, when Makoto says that he’s taking Kiyotaka to the dining hall, Kyoko insists on going with them. Makoto gets the impression that she’s trying to keep an eye on him initially, but later realizes that she just seems to be hungry.

5:  Hypnotism by Shirataki Neko  :  This one’s a little nonsensical. Kiyotaka rambles a little bit about duties and such, but you only get parts of the conversation as the comic goes on, reflecting the joke of the comic. Which is that as they’re being ‘hypnotized’, they’re paying less and less attention to what he’s actually saying.

Bousou-debu** by Aoi Gamu  : Not much that isn’t plainly obvious— Mondo uses Hifumi as a vehicle. Kiyotaka interrupts, but only to comment that they’re on the wrong side of the hallway, basically.

** I’ll include the break down translation notes for this comic’s title since it’s a little much... I wasn't entirely sure how to best translate this here, so I left it as it was. The title is clearly meant to be a play on Mondo's talent, SHSL Bōsōzoku. Debu is usually a rather derogitory way to refer to a fat person ( so think something along the lines of fatty/fatso ). If I had to translate the title, it'd probably be something like 'recklessly driving fatty', maybe 'fatty riding delinquent' given the context of the comic itself?

6:  The School Mode ( Splash Page ) +  School mode × Fujisaki  by Rara (Lala) :  Chihiro intends to try and get stronger while gathering items; however both pairs (Kiyotaka/Mondo and Sakura/Aoi) insist on doing it for her. Makoto seems surprised when Chihiro comes to do cleaning duty, but it’s only because they have no other work to do.

He was busy that he didn't notice you sleeping late, waking up early and skipping meals. It was only after his work died down that he noticed you were tired and weren't your usual self.

You had to admit yourself you were overworking yourself. You didn't know if Otoya noticed, but you were timid; you didn't want to bother him. You knew he was busy this week as well so you could probably get away with it.

Oh you were so wrong.

About the fourth day of your overworking streak, Otoya burst into the room with a blanket.

"YN! STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW!" He yelled. You were confused. He wrapped you around and swaddled you with the blanket.

You squeaked as he wrapped his arms around you. Your face reddened immediately as he picked you up and placed you on the bed. He was directly looking at you, which did not help with your blushing.

"YN-chan... you're so cute when you blush," He said, brushing a lock of hair out of your face. "There's my girl. So cute... No one should see you like this except me..."

"O-Otoya?"

"You've been overworking. I noticed," He said.

"Ah... so you did," You replied. "But I have to finish it by this weeー"

"No," He protested, hugging you closer. "I'm gonna have a word with your manager about this... No one should make my YN-chan tired ever."

"I didn't want to bother you," You said. "You were busy too and Iー"

He laughed. "You know you can ask me anything right?"

You nodded. "Otoya?"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you for taking care of me." You pecked him on the cheek.

He buried his face against your neck. His face was as red as his hair. "You really are too cute..."

Masato Hijirikawa

Overworking does not exist in your relationship. He does not condone it. You ー sadly ー learnt that the hard way.

You had a tough schedule ahead of you. Basketball meets, friendly matches and the winter season in two weeks. This caused you to come to practices early and stay longer after the team has left.

As the team's star point guard, you had to do your best. You wanted to make your team proud especially after last season. There were many blows, and now you had to train to overcome every single one of them.

You were watching hours and hours of past matches; including ones that weren't played against your team; analysing every player. You were concentrating hard until someone picked up your laptop away from you.

"W-Wait..."

"YN! Rest. Now. I don't want you to overwork yourself," He scolded you.

You protested, reaching for your laptop. "Masa... Stop being a bully!"

He reddened at the nickname. "Stop being stubborn and rest YN," He retorted.

He covered you in sheets and pulled it to your chin. Starting to feel comfortable, you nuzzle your head into the pillow.

"Do you need me to bring you anything?" He asked.

"Mmm... Maybe some water would be nice."

"Alright," He said gently, brushing your hair out of your face. "Get some rest YN."

Natsuki Shinomiya

Your uncle's bakery had gotten popular after a STARISH fan posted about the members eating at the bakery. You still carried on baking, as they didn't disturb your business.

You were secretly glad at the free publicity, but things had gotten a little hectic lately. You had to admit, it was exhausting.

Natsuki got worried about you, feeling as if it were his fault that the fans swarmed the shop. He'd finally managed to visit you after a busy day.

He was a sweet boy, helping you tidy up the cafe. He wore a disguise as to not inconvenience you.

You were wiping the tables, your eyes drowsy from the lack of sleep. You slipped on the recently mopped floor, crashing into table.

Natsuki immediately rushed to you and held you by your torso, making sure you didn't fall. "YN! Are you alright?" He carried you to a chair. "YN-chan... You look very sleepy..."

You shook your head, leaning into his chest. Right on cue, your uncle walked in. He simply stared at this blonde-haired man holding you in his arms. He didn't assume the worse, but he was still wary. "Please take her upstairs to sleep on the couch and then leave."

"H-HAI!"

Ren Jinguji

You'd been staying up late often to study as you were away from school. Your parents had called and reminded you to still study even though you were away.

You had also reviewed each of your games and nit-picked every single flaw you found, since you had to keep up your game. You kept writing in your notebook, making little markings of possible room for moves.

Ren had noticed you agonising over the past few hours. "My dear lady, I think you should rest," He said, holding your hand and stopping you from writing.

You blinked, rubbing your eyes. "Maybe I should. Iー"

"My fairy, please make sure your rest is not simply sleeping on your desk. Rest on the bed," He said, shutting your book.

"Why do you care about my well-being so much?" You tiredly whine.

"Because you are my fairy and I love you. Now rest, YN."

Cecil Aijima

Late night practices often left you weary for most days. You had been extremely tired from all the rehearsals. You hadn’t seen Cecil since you were so busy. You had gone to the twins for another fitting.

“YN?”

You had accidentally fallen asleep in the dressing room.

“Oh no…”

Shuu had gone and called Cecil since the twins were too busy to take you to your dorm. Cecil came… and he panicked.

“YN!” He picked you up and shook you awake.

“Cecil? What are you doing?” You said sleepily, rubbing your eyes as you yawned drowsily. You didn’t have time to take in your surroundings, so you decided to go back to sleep. “Hmm… Whatever is it… I don’t care. Just let me sleep.”

“YN! Don’t sleep! I need to carry you back!”

Syo Kurusu

You had been overworked after the festival the shrine hosted. Syo couldn’t physically contact you after as he as well was busy with his own work.

At night however, he had spent time to call you. “YN… You know you don’t have to work so hard… Everything will turn out fine.”

“I’m worried though…” You said.

“I’m pretty sure everyone at the shrine would be worried about their favourite shrine maiden fainting,” Syo sighed.

“I will rest Syo, don’t worry. I just have trouble sleeping…” You admitted.

“How about I sing a song for you?”

“That would be nice,” You said. You adored his singing, no matter the situation. You were in a sense, his number one fan. His voice always seemed to calm you down.

Syo began humming lowly, starting the song slow but melodious. He sang sweetly, in a tone that he wouldn’t share with anyone but you.

“YN?” He called out. He heard your soft breathing, indicating that you had fallen asleep. He smiled to himself.

“Good night YN. Sweet dreams.”

Tokiya Ichinose

You had invited Tokiya over to your dorm to see you work on your manga. He had noticed that you were a little weary from class, so he simply followed you back to look after you.

He had to admit that he was curious and excited to witness your writing. As one of your big fans, this was a huge opportunity for him.

You brought Tokiya to your manga room and allowed him to do some work. You gave him the simple task of erasing fine lines. He quietly did his work, observing you from afar.

He watched you at your desk, working passionately as you swiftly created your manga. You put your head down on your desk to clear your head and eventually you fell asleep.

Tokiya saw you resting your head and decided to move you to your bed.

“Honestly… YN… I told you not to overwork yourself…” He tucked you into bed and kissed your forehead lovingly.

I'm so curious what mental gymnastics you have to go through to decide ""pr//sh//pping"" is a good thing to align yourself with.

I think the only think they'd ever have going for them is the idea of "don't shit on people for liking something you don't". But also?? You don't have to be a pr//sh//pper to believe that?? And honestly the reason it doesn't work coming from them is because it's usually in conjunction with "fiction doesn't affect reality" which. Girlies I'm sorry but it can. Desensitizing people to fucked up topics can in turn make them more compliant with it or even make them view it as ok. This is coming from someone who was unfortunately dragged into something for a portion of time and honest to god I am so glad I got out of it without becoming a victim. /srs

And now to the thought that made me type this up impulsively. You can be critical of ships and the implications on the person shipping them. To go to the drastic examples there's no fucking way you can tell me to not be critical of someone shipping in//st or the like. But even without being as drastic, I think its really good to be critical of ships between characters who in canon would have a toxic/ abusive relationship and how it may reflect on someone who is romanticizing it. I am going to talk about T//gaf//ka now.

I find utility in using unromanticized T//gaf//ka to cope. Realistic portrayals of their relationship is so fascinating I think you can get so much out of it. I think coping through shit is awesome. That being said I think people making romanticized shit out of it is one of the most triggering things on Earth and I'm sorry if you look at canon/ in-game characterizations and go "Yeah you can have something healthy sprout from that"... What The Fuck???

Byakuya is very much uncomfortable with the attention he gets from Toko in canon. He lashes out at her because of it. Toko has an unhealthy obsession with him, undoubtedly due to trauma and an unhealthy perception of romantic relationships. Aand something something that part in THH where he told her not to speak and she fucking didn't until he told her to again. I am not going to talk about Syo because that's where it's personal heart emoji. <3 I don't wanna delve too much into them; my thoughts could be another whole post on their own.

Anyways, all of what I just said is why I find them to have coping utility. It may not be 1:1, but I have been there. And being there is why I think it can be insanely problematic to ignore all of their canon characteristics/ relationship and go "teehee wlm/mlw ship <3". I don't want people to think blind obsession is romantic (also the issue with shit like the yandere trope but that's out of my area). I don't want people to think persistence towards someone who does not want you will get you them in the end. I can't cover shit that completely rewrites canon but I think if you rewrite an unhealthy relationship to be healthy. Just find new characters to ship. OR LET THEM BE PLATONIC FRIENDS DEAR CHRIST I think Toko and Byakuya growing past what all happened and having a positive relationship is really awesome. It's not something you ever owe to someone you had an unhealthy relationship with and in real life may not be ideal but fiction is still a playground for stuff that may not always be feasible in life. But I think I've made it clear why it's an issue to give them a romantic relationship.

This is so insanely long I'm so sorry I didn't think I had this much in me either. To wrap it up I kinda just can't take pr//sh//pers seriously anymore like ok be in denial abt it I don't have the time to waste on you. But I think it's still important to dish criticism against it that isn't "p//do shit bad" because while that's 100% correct, these fuckers won't acknowledge they're romanticizing abusive relationships, and will just dodge it. Oh the beloathed "I'm not defending that, I just think you shouldn't yell at people for a ship."

Who are the most dangerous and safest yanderes to have from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc?

I was just thinking about this question and I finally had time to delve into it. Maybe I'll make a part two with the Goodbye Despair cast.

List is from the top 3 Most Dangerous and top 3 Safest Yanderes to have pining for you. This is different from worst/best yandere because I'm concentrating on the safety for the darling and others rather than how the yandere would treat the darling. If you'd like to see a list of worst/best yanderes on the subject of their treatment towards their darling, just ask! :) These are purely my own opinion and if you'd like to add on your own thoughts, feel free to do so!

Dangerous

Ikusaba Mukuro

There are obvious reasons why she would be the most dangerous yandere to have falling for you, but not for the risk of your safety oh no. Mukuro is dangerous to those around you; she's devoted in being your protector from anyone who dares to harm you. She is incredibly skilled and intelligent in the field of destroying her foes. So venting to her about anyone bothering you would be like walking on egg shells due to the fact she'll keep every thing you say in mind. Also, cleaning up the mess is a cinch but she prefers these to go down with minimal blood unless they really piss her off. Besides that, Mukuro is a very dedicated yandere who will do anything for her darling.

Enoshima Junko

Junko is a danger to every aspect of your life. She won't outright kill you since it would be too boring to just end your life right then and there. Then she won't be able to indulge in your expressions when you're falling into despair. That would be absolutely boring and you are certainly not boring. I would definitely concern about the safety of your friends and family; maybe a little of yourself too. There might be a chance you will be harmed, but more mentally/emotionally than physically. Junko prefers to use manipulation methods to bring a rise of despair out of you and would rather not get her hands dirty (in a literal sense). If the Killing Game is occurring, she'll have you watch the whole sequence of events as everyone drop like flies.

Fukawa Toko/Owada Mondo

I had a debate on who was the more dangerous of the two, but I decided to have them be tied. For obvious reasons, Toko is dangerous because of Genocider Syo; even though she should never think of hurting her precious darling, there will be times where Syo would accidentally cut or injure you. The same goes for Mondo. He would absolutely hate himself should he harm you, but because of his intense anger issues, it would not be wrong to see the possibility. These two would not hurt you to an extreme, that's for certain. It'll just be along the lines of mishaps. However, I cannot say the same for those who they deem as a threat. They'll both make sure those people stay away from you.

Midpoint

Kuwata Leon

Leon is a somewhat chill guy, but he does have the capability to cause an outburst. He can get pretty jealous of those who seem to be getting too close to you. It'll only start off as a simple, "Back off" and a light shoulder push to get the person away from you, but if one should be persistent, it'll soon grow to Leon yelling at them. He certainly can be pushed to injuring them, but that's after a few more times with the person coming back. Leon isn't much of a danger since his fuse is not really that short, but when threaten, it can fizzle out real quick.

Ogami Sakura

You'd be surprised to hear that Sakura would not allow herself to physically harm anyone for her darling. Sure, she has the capability, but she's devoted to you to the point where your opinion can possibly sway her actions. She has taken an oath to do no harm for herself and you as well. Besides, she can simply give anyone giving her darling trouble a glare and they'd never think of crossing you again. The only time she will ever fend off someone physically is if they actually make a move to put your life at risk; that is when no mercy is shown. However, Sakura plays her cards right, so few even try to do so due to the fact that they know she is watching over you from afar. She deeply cares for you and would do anything to keep you safe, but she's smart about her choices.

Naegi Makoto

A soft, but protective yandere he is, Makoto has his concerns over you. He definitely trusts that you can take care of yourself, but some of his thoughts aren't too kind towards him. I can not see him causing harm towards you or others at all due to his stance on not wanting to make things worse. Besides, there are better ways to handle the situation without brute force, but this does mainly have to do with the fact that Makoto is not that intimidating or physically forceful. So, he mostly relies on his own way with words to deal with unnecessary people who arrogantly believe his darling would rather be with them. The only harm he can do is slightly light insults/threats; which just consist of him telling the person to stay away from you.

Hi!! Welcome to the blog, I'm glad you like my takes :D! Here r some Syo headcanons 4 for u <3 (also disclaimer im a singlet and not at all equipped to talk about the flaws in Syo's writing, so its mostly light-hearted stuff)

I love Syo a lot, I'm a sucker for high-energy characters and mean girls. I wish they gave her more screen time that wasn't just about her obsession with Byakuya; Personally I think it would've been funnier if only Toko had a crush on him, and Syo was either just disinterested or flat out hated him hgkjhfk.

I think Syo in general has a lot of untaped potential! Like??? She just didn't have her memories erased??? And she never said anything about it until the very end which is a little weird to me since she appears to have no filter. I feel like she could've been used for foreshadowing the mind erasure thing more. Also, post-canon it'd be nice for Syo to talk to her classmates about what she remembers from their first year, as she was probably friends with a few of them back then. Let Syo be soft and have emotions dadgumit!!

Speaking of first year, I think that there was a phase in which Syo just like. Really wanted to join Mondo's biker gang. You get to zoom around, adrenaline rushing through your veins, being violent and crude just cause people tell you not to??? It's right up her ally! ...Mondo does not let her back on a motorcycle after Toko yells at him though. ("If you let her go on th- that death machine and she b- br- breaks all our bones I'm- I'm gonna break yours too, y- you big brute.").

Overall I love Syo very much, canon did her dirty as canon often does.

You flirted just as much with Syo when she showed up too

“Hey, that tongue looked pretty useful, mind using it on me?”

Syo was definitely more amused than Toko

When Toko found out about your little weakness, it was on complete accident

You were going about your usual day, flirting with and pestering Toko before she could run off when she had an idea

It was one of these days where you sat in front of him, facing away from him, and talking with Akane (since she was least likely to be affected by your flirty behavior)

You had started lightly grinding a bit yes on purpose back against him, causing the boy to be more flustered

It wasn’t enough to be noticed by an outsider (mainly Akane) but enough to set Hajime off

So today, he decided to do something about it

You stopped mid-sentence when you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist, forcing you to stay still, and a face pressed against your back/neck/hair (depending on height)

Akane burst out laughing at your pause, leaving to give you two a moment, or as she worded it, to “go get some”

Hajime had thought he had done something wrong and began to remove his arms, stuttering out an apology when he felt you grab his arms and pull him to continue hugging you

“I-I di-didn’t say t-to stop…”

He couldn’t see your face, but he’d never heard your voice so soft and nervous

It took him a moment to realize you were just flustered beyond relief

When he did, he simply chuckled and said something about now having a secret weapon against you before resting his head against your back again, holding you a bit closer

From that point onward, whenever you were getting to be too much for him, instead of leaving he’d just hold you or your hand to make you shut up

Kazuichi had almost immediately started calling you “Miss Y/n” just like Sonia

Of course when he did this, you had followed up on your natural attitude

Let’s just say he rarely called you that ever again but the urge to somehow became stronger

After that moment you immediately loved his reactions, especially when he was being a dumbass and needed to be shut up

Kazuichi was in his cottage where you usually hung out (yes you had made plenty of comments before) and going into a panic

You went to see if the door was open and luckily it was

When you walked in, Kazuichi was curled in a ball on the floor in front of his bed

So as much as you hated it, you knew soft physical contact helped ground him, so that’s what you did

Making sure not to scare him, you slowly sat in front of him and placed one of your hands on his, pulling it away from scratching his arm, and your other went to his head to softly pet it

You could feel your cheeks becoming warmer than they’ve ever been, but right now your focus was on the slowly calming boy in front of you

Once he did finally calm down completely, he quietly thanked you, looking up and expecting you to just have a comforting smile or something of the sort

He was more pleased when he found your face practically screaming how flustered you were, his lips turning into a small smirk at this

“You really blushing at simple hand holding? Wow Miss Y/n, I’ll keep this in mind!”

Your response to this was an even hotter face and looking down to hide it

He quickly learned that any sort of acts like this would get that same reaction or better (better for him at least, worse for you)

After that point, he almost never completely let go of you when you were together, having a hand holding yours or around your shoulders/waist at all times

Avocado man saw it coming

Rantaro was possibly the most calm when it came to your behavior

When he was feeling more playful, he’d flirt back

You both often pushed the other to a wall and started teasing them, whether that be light touches, kisses, even hickeys

You two may have had a few night stands and they were the best of your life

You guys were honestly just really close friends (maybe you had crushes on each other but if you did, neither felt the need to say anything)

But one day Rantaro was just bored out of his mind

So naturally, he went to find you

You were curled up in the library, nose buried in a book of some sort

Rantaro had thought of how to approach you for a minute, then decided he wanted to test his few-month-old theory out

He quite casually walked up to where you were curled up in a chair, picked you up and sat in your place, putting you in his lap princess style

This mans is strong asf from his sisters being all over him and his adventures so even if you weigh 1000lb he can carry you, don’t @ me

This by itself might’ve taken you off guard and gotten your face a tad warmer

But then he started playing with your hair

Your teeth caught your bottom lip as you tried to keep your focus on your book so your face wouldn’t burst into a blush

This bitch noticed it and decided to make it worse for you

With his free arm, he pulled you to lean against his chest as he hugged you, then placed a light kiss to your temple

Right then and there, you were over

Your face was burning and you couldn’t make yourself complain or make any snarky comments

But this bitch of an avocado-

“Mind telling me about what you’re reading?”

Your words came out in a stuttering mess as you attempted to answer him, voice wavering a bit when he rested his head against yours and held you tighter

You could feel his pleased smile against your head, and as much as you wanted to get back at him, 1.) he’s the hardest person in the world to fluster and 2.) you weren’t exactly complaining about the situation….

To keep it short, he would do this sort of thing constantly after this

Mostly headpats and small praises, sometimes he’d get you a book or something he thought would help your talent

But nevertheless, it made you stutter and heat up every time

He had a new way of fucking with you and he loved it a little too much

I would love to hear about Taka secretly being the murderer instead of Toko!!

HEHEHEH I now have an excuse to talk about the Brainrot. Also gosh. This is real long. And kinda just a string of thoughts, though no more so than usual I guess. I got into this one

First and foremost, we got to establish how close to the Toko/Syo situation Taka would be in this case. For the sake of simplicity, we'll say it's another situation of Taka and Ishida being separate personalities, just like with Toko and Syo. I think there's definitely merit to them being the same person, but I'd have to think that over since...well I've never thought of this concept from that mindset before. 

Let's consider Taka not knowing. I like that it's kinda a metaphor to some degree? Because as kids, we all have a very black and white, pure idea of morality and justice. Don't steal from others, don't lie, don't hurt people, ect. And that clear cut morality is very much in line with Taka as a character. He follows the rules! All the time! Even in a death game he'll yell at you for running in the halls. And this morality of his is so pure and simple, to the point of being childish.

But morality is not black and white in the real word. It's complicated, with tons of different factors to consider more often than not. Is it already to steal if you'll starve otherwise? Is it alright to lie if the person you're lying to has bad intentions, even if they are a authority figure? Is it okay to hurt someone if doing so saves others? Morality isn't clear cut and sometimes rules need to be broken. But when we're immature, it's easy not to realize this. 

So having Taka not know about Ishida would be representative of this concept of immature vs mature morality. The immature morality, the black and white view, is unaware of the need for complexity. This would be Taka, because Taka seems unable to accept grey morally. His interactions with Mondo reflect that. When he thought Mondo was bad, he was totally bad. He was violent, lazy, and a criminal. When he decided Mondo was good, he was totally good. He was the perfect man, unable to do any harm, let alone kill someone. 

So Ishida would be the mature morality, the one who realizes that the idealistic views of the immature morality are just that, an ideal, not reality. Ishida would understand that Taka's belief that, if he can just bring his ideas and morals into politics everything can be solved, is wrong. Corruption runs deeper than Taka's willing or ready to confront. And even with all the hard work in the world, Kiyotaka isn't going to be able to solve everything. 

How do you solve society's issues when the avenues to legally solve it are corrupt? Who do you call when the cops abuse the people? When the billionaire has all the judges paid off? How can you uproot corruption when so many politicians benefit from it and strive to perpetuate it? 

You can't. And that's what Ishida's there for. Ishi is more of the revolutionary that Taka is, the one who's willing to break the rules to ultimately create a better world to live in. 

So yeah. Ishida is a murderer. He kills corrupt authority figures, those who'd would lie and bribe their way out of trouble if he didn't kill them. Because for far too long justice has only affected those who couldn't pay their way out of it. I guess he's kinda a Sparkling Justice kinda situation, motivation wise. 

His calling card would definitely be different from Syo's. He'd probably leave a file of all the crimes the politician was executed for. Nobody knows how he gets the info, since so much of it was covered up, but he has it. Along with this, his victims are always decapitated. This is in reference to the French Revolution, where the people rose up and used a guillotine on the ruling class. (I’m sure there’s a more Japanese appropriate revolution I could make reference of, but I don’t know what it is.)

Now actually, how does Ishida get all that info on his victims? Not sure fully myself, but he probably uses Takaaki's position as an officer to his benifit. I'm sure he can get a lot of confidential information by breaking into police files. He has his ways.

Also, it should be noted that someone like Mondo wouldn't become a target for Ishida. Ishida doesn't deal with petty criminals, or even serial killers. He deals with criminals that'll powerful enough to manipulate the justice system to their advantage. Ishida only kills those the law refuses to deal with. 

Unlike Toko and Syo, I think that Kiyotaka would be totally unaware of Ishida. I like the idea of Ishida attempting to protect Taka from what he does. Because Taka is everything Ishida fights for; to protect innocence by destroying corruption. So Ishida wouldn't want Taka to know about what he does. 

Perhaps fittingly, this isn't exactly a good thing. How can Taka grow as a person, learn to be a leader himself, if he isn't aware of the corrupt world he's getting into? Taka does need to evolve into mature morality, but Ishida won't let him in his desire to protect Taka. Ishida keeps Taka innocent and naive, which isn't always a good thing. 

Moving on, I want to talk about backstory for this AU. It's basically the same. Toranosuke's corrupt in his actions as Prime Minister, probably cheating many out of their livelihoods and ruining lives in the process. He's eventually found out, leaving him and his family in dept. As far as I know, Toranosuke never serves a prison sentence. I don't know why he didn't in canon, but I'm going to say he bribed his way out of it in this AU.

And all of this is...upsetting to Taka to say the least (I'm going to say Taka's like 8-10 at this point) . Because even if his father tries to hide it from him, Taka's aware of the fallout of what his grandfather did. The thousands who were cheated, the workers left jobless, the safety violations that were ignored. He knows what his grandfather did was wrong. And everybody, from the news reporters, to the people on the street, to even his own teachers, say Toranosuke should be imprisoned for what he did. 

The situation is terribly unfair. Why should everyone hate him because of what his grandfather did? Why should his dad have to work all day just because of Toranosuke? Why isn't his grandfather in jail if he did so many bad things?

Kiyotaka is a passionate boy, and while he's well behaved, that level of passion wouldn't be easy for a 10 year old's willpower to contain. I think that eventually the stress of everything becomes too much. The constant bullying at school, the fact that he never sees his father anymore, the fact that his mother left them after grandfather got in trouble. It's all a lot for a child. And Toranosuke, the man behind all that heartache, is still there. An old, withered man, just laying in bed while everyone else suffers for his mistakes.

It's not fair. It's not fair that the bad guy gets away with it, and Taka hates his grandfather so much for it. Perhaps if Toranosuke had spoken to him, had said anything in explanation for what he'd done, Taka could've dealt with it better. But he didn't, so Taka didn't.

I think Taka eventually does something drastic. It's not planned or calculated in any way, more like a child having the worst possible meltdown. Perhaps he pulls out his grandfather's life support, or he smothers the man with a pillow. Either way, Toranosuke Ishimaru dies at the hands of his grandson, a young boy who couldn't handle the stress the world put on him. 

And Taka's horrified when he realizes what he's done. Because he just killed someone, someone who had hurt so many people, but someone nonetheless. And regardless of how angry Taka was with his grandfather, he honestly didn't mean to kill the man. 

So Taka does what any terrified child would do. He runs as far away as possible, with absolutely no plan. And it's days later before anyone finds him and brings him home. He's completely catonic when Takaaki finally finds him. 

 Taka's fingerprints being on the crime scene wouldn't be suspicious, since he lives there and is in charge of taking care of Toranosuke while Takaaki's out. So it wouldn't be hard to assume someone came in, killed Toranosuke, then cleaned up any evidence before leaving. After all, Toronosuke was dead for hours before Takaaki returned home. 

It's possible that Takaaki knows what actually happened. I mean, Taka's still Taka. He'd probably confess what'd happened once he's less catonic. But, regardless of if Takaaki believes the confession, he sure as hell isn't going to accept it. 

It’s the only time Takaaki ever yelled at his son. Not out of anger, but a panicked terror of not knowing if his son was deeply traumatized and blaming himself. or if he was truly guilty of murdering Toranosuke. He makes Taka swear to never say he killed his grandfather again. 

And somewhere in the midst of all that issue, Ishida starts being a thing. Perhaps it comes from Taka’s immaturity; his childish views on morality are completely incompatible with what he’d done. And how he’s promised to never bring it up again, but that means that he can’t do the right thing and confess. It’s a horrific contradiction and a horrific situation. 

Perhaps Ishida is Taka’s means of coping with that. Taka doesn’t remember what happened on that day, but Ishida does. Ishida carries the burden of that day and, as Taka gets older, all the other deaths.

Does Takaaki know about his son’s vigilantism? Who knows. 

Anyway, as for in the death game. I would still say the murderer gets revealed in ch2, but I’m not quite sure how. There’s no way that Taka could tell anyone he’s Ishida (or whatever the media calls this ‘mysterious killer’), since he himself honestly doesn’t know. 

I feel like it would be possible for Togami to catch him however, assuming there’s info on his case in the library. When the secrets are passed out, Taka would probably be pretty vocal about his being a “total false accusation”. After all, there’s no way he killed his own grandfather! These so called secrets are clearly just slander, right?

Given how honest Taka’s shown himself to be, Togami might think that’s suspicious that he likely honestly doesn’t remember his secret happening. Which might be enough for him to connect Taka to the string of murders. After all, Toranosuke would fit the bill of the killer’s usual victims.

I guess to get Ishida to front, Togami would have to convince both the class and Taka that he’s the aformentioned murderer. It would be...A very bad time for Taka. Bringing up a lot of repressed memories. 

Also, gotta talk about Ishida a tad more! With Toko and Syo, the fact that they have such different personalities is part of the charm. So, it seems kinda lame to keep Ishida as “just Taka but loud and rude” like in canon. Not to mention that Ishida wasn’t made with Mondo in mind, so it wouldn’t make sense. 

My first thought is that Ishida is almost the total opposite of Taka. He’s still just as militant as Taka, but he’s far more serious, less expressive. He probably very openly consiters making Togami his next target for the whole mutilating a corpse thing, but decides not to on the grounds that he’s a minor (and also because they’re in a death game and Ishida doesn’t want to risk Taka dying)

Also I’m realizing that, if Togami sets up the killer like he does in canon...That means he cuts off Chihiro’s head….Ew

In defense of Kokichi Ouma

Yo drv3 spoilers if you don’t want that close your eyes

So I find a lot of people hate Kokichi cuz like. He’s a heartless bastard, he lies, he’s hard to read. But ngl I love all those things about him. Minus the heartless bit, he’s human too y’know. Humans are hardwired with these things called “Feelings” that are complicated and hard to understand and slip out when we want them to the least. Kokichi’s whole thing is that he’s constantly lying. Lying to Shuichi, Kaito, Maki, and even himself. Kokichi figured that in a killing game getting all buddy buddy with your fellow participants is the last thing you wanna do. So he quickly distanced himself. He acted disgusting so all the others would want to distance themselves. He practically teamed up with Monokuma just so the others wouldn’t get near him. And he wasn’t just protecting himself, oh no. He also tries to split up groups and instill suspicion in as many people as possible. People who get chummy end up dead, that was his though process. From the start he was trying to end the killing game. And during chapter 6 we find that he wasn’t wrong. Tsumugi framed Kaede for the murder of Rantaro Amami. 1) Because Rantaro was about to uncover a secret. And 2) Because Kaede being the blackened would instill such scintillating despair. When you’re the central figure you become a target to break the group apart. Fast forward to chapter 4 and this is where I find a lot of people started to hate Kokichi. The sacrifice of Gonta Gokuhara was cruel but I don’t think it’s really all the justifiable of a reason to hate Kokichi. He was just doing all he could to survive. If you think he could’ve found some other way allow me to prove you wrong. Kokichi found out pretty early that Miu was planning his murder. He also knew that Miu probably had some surefire way to kill him. She’d rewritten the Neo World Program after all. Miu had mentally backed Kokichi into a corner (completely on accident) before she physically backed him into one. Now I ask you, how could Kokichi have handled this? Option A) Die. No. Option B) Kill Miu himself. Avatar restrictions, this was cleared up in the trial. And even if he didn’t use the toilet paper what in the world could he have used. Huh? Miu got rid of all potentially weapon-like objects except for the hammer. Option C) Outsource. Bingo, now who could Kokichi get to kill Miu? Oh yeah that’s right, most of the cast hates him and thinks he’s a liar. Except of course for the pure soul Gonta Gokuhara. Gonta’s a man who believes in second chances. And third chances. And fourth ones. and so on and so forth. So Gonta believes that Miu’s trying to kill Kokichi and Kokichi decides to use the secret of the outside world to convince Gonta. Kokichi was just doing all he could to survive, nothing more, nothing less. Also if you think Kokichi felt zero compassion towards Gonta I believe you’re wrong. Even a compulsive liar who’s trying his best to distance himself will start liking someone who’s persistent enough in becoming their friend. You’ll notice that after the murder happens Kokichi insults Gonta constantly. He digs into him more than usual. He’s trying to distance himself from Gonta. Trying to make Gonta hate him so he’ll feel less horrible about what he’d done. He’s under a lot of emotional strain due to everything happening. And then Shuichi commits a Perjury against him. Shuichi, Mr. White Knight, Mr. Protagonist, Mr. You shouldn’t lie even if it’s for the greater good. Kokichi even says at one point that some lies are better than the truth to Shuichi. But he completely rejects the philosophy and keeps seeking the truth. And yet he lies to Kokichi. To try and prove Gonta innocent. Imagine that. Imagine being told that your way of life is wrong only to have that fucking hypocrite throw your way at life back in your face. I don’t know about you but I’d snap. And Kokichi sure as hell did. He decided he couldn’t fucking be in that Trial Ground anymore. He was surrounded by enemies and hypocrites and on top of that he was about to lose the only thing resembling a friend he had in this game. The only thing he could do at that point is speed up the trial. So he exposed the culprit. The whole while he’s yelling and screaming at Gonta. Trying to further distance himself from him. The trial ends and the verdict is reached. Kokichi is barely keeping his composure. He just wants the class trial to end quickly. But he has to keep his act up. Kokichi says the line “Then... can’t you accept everything about this case? You can imagine the rest right?” If that’s not pleading, begging them to hurry it up so he can leave and break down in his room I don’t know what is. But when all is said and done, Gonta forgives Kokichi and all his hard work to distance himself was immediately undone. I’m fairly certain that Kokichi’s lines and tears were genuine in chapter 4. Like seriously, looking back on it now there are so many unnatural pauses and out-of-place lines. Like Kokichi admitting he should’ve taken on the responsibility of killing Miu. It’s painfully clear he feels genuinely guilty. Kokichi even asks to be punished as well. I remember when I read that line the first time I thought “Oh christ he’s so full of shit.” But thinking of Kokichi less as a lie and more as a person I start to see that he really meant that. Generally towards the end of the game Kokichi’s actions start becoming less and less about deception. Or moreover. His emotions are getting to him. Causing him to have to struggle though keeping his face on and always greeting the day with a warm “It’s a lie!” Kokichi yells out to Gonta not to go, that he doesn’t want this. Then Punishment Time hits. Kokichi sees the closest thing he has to a friend die at the hands of Monokuma. He’s alone. Nobody trusts him, nobody likes him. He’s completely and utterly alone. Kokichi decides to take advantage of that. He sees a way to end the killing game. So he goes all out, he passes his tears off as fake crying and saying he never cared about Gonta he decides to make his final move. He reveals himself as the mastermind. With the mastermind being known to everyone what point is there in continuing the game. Stacked on top of the fact that the “outside world” has been completely destroyed the remaining characters fall into despair. Except for Maki and Kaito of course. Kokichi figures he’s got a leg up. A weak leg at that, but a leg nonetheless. And he decides to make one final finishing blow. Then chapter 5 happens. Ultimately Kokichi’s death was a sacrifice for the greater good. If Monokuma couldn’t pass a fair judgement the game couldn’t continue, and the remaining people would be saved. Ngl if that plan worked Tsumugi probably would’ve gotten the ball rolling again but still Kokichi sacrificed himself for everyone else. He sacrificed himself so that he could finally have a chance at ending the killing game. Plus, his death was probably super therapeutic for him, considering the guilt he was carrying on his shoulders.

In summary. Kokichi’s an lying asshole but he’s human too. He’s not insane like Syo or Nagito or Korekiyo. He’s just a dude doing his best to survive the only way he knows how. His ultimate goal was always to end the killing game. He may not have liked many of the other participants but that doesn’t mean he wanted them to die. Sure the deaths technically worked in his favor because less people meant less likelihood of a murder and less likelihood for them to regain hope. But I’m sure he would’ve done it after the first trial if he could. But people kept dying and he kept having to hold his mastermind plan for later and instead lay more little bread crumbs for everyone else to think he might be the mastermind. So ultimately please don’t hate Kokichi. Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Notes: day two of @tokomaruweek, i'm combining the killing game and talentswap prompts!! it’s still before midnight i’m totally not late at all here,

featuring my totally not original talent / roleswap luck student komaru au. because creativity is dead and i think komaru being stuck in a killing game is ??? when you think about the fact that komaru canonically sees ghosts. you KNOW she ends up possessed by one of the dead students in the last trial bc someone wants to say fuck you to the mastermind :/ also the fact that syo remembers shit but just never says anything feels like great potential!! they just want to love their partner but toko won’t let them front this is homphobia /j

anyways this au just lives in my wips rent free bc i keep changing my mind on how i want things to play out anyways. so this is more of a concept and not canon to that au if i ever finish it and that's also why this takes place in ch1 so i don't gotta think too hard on the details <3 any talents brought up are the ones i'm for sure sticking with.

tws for touko's general paranoia / anxiety / etc, mentions of murder bc kg au, and also since i usually depict syo as nonbinary with they/them pronouns, komaru’s technically accidentally misgendering them from her pov bc she doesn’t/can’t tell that syo is fronting, in case that bothers you!!

Summary: for being chosen on the basis of luck, it doesn't feel like she's ever going to catch a break here.

It’s quiet, this morning.

Not that she really knows any better— they’ve only been trapped in the school with the murder bear for a few days, after all. So maybe Komaru’s focusing on the wrong part.

It’s less that it’s quiet, there’s a few faces missing that she’d have expected to get there before her. Especially since she’d managed to sleep through her alarm again and had been kind of late; she had fully expected to be greeted with a lecture as soon as she’d gotten to the dining hall. Alright, one person specifically that stands out in her mind, but it hasn’t gone unnoticed by her that Fukawa’s not there yet. Weird, given the moral compass had lectured her for being tardy to meet up with everyone on their first day, and then for sleeping in the first morning, but...given the videos that bear had shown them the previous day, she supposes she can’t blame some people to feel reluctant to show up. Maybe that’s where she is? Going around to check on people? She had seemed a little paranoid that people were skipping out on gathering in the morning on purpose...

( Because she really, really doesn’t want to think about the possibility that Fukawa, or any of her other classmates might possibly be dead. That someone would have actually gone through with trying to kill one another? So she simply won’t think about that fact. It feels kind of like a Pavlovian...no, wait, that’s the wrong person. Uh. Freudian theory? Ah! Schrödinger’s cat. Yeah, that kind of scenario )

Okay, that settles it! She should probably have breakfast first, and if Fukawa hasn’t shown up by the time she finishes, she’ll go see if she can find her. Besides, she’s sure they aren’t the only ones who are concerned about the ones that haven’t shown up. Maizono seemed super nice ( unsurprisingly ), so maybe if she’s still hanging out in the dining hall, Komaru can convince her to help her in her search! Now that she thinks about it, she can probably ask anyone that comes by the dining hall for any leads.

...But why does she care so much in the first place? It’s not like she doesn’t care about the others: even the ones already dead— she can’t place why exactly she feels attached to people she barely knew, but she’s always been pretty sentimental. Maybe that’s it. Maybe it’s the way Fukawa seems to try so hard to be close to people in one moment, and then so distant in the next.

In any case, standing in front of the fridge and spacing out is probably far from a good idea, besides the obvious fact that she’s in the way— she doesn’t even notice that someone has decided to take advantage of her distracted state to pull the wool over her eyes. Er, the hoodie of her jacket, technically.

She’s hardly gotten a chance to push the hood back before a hand comes down on her head to ruffle her hair. Or, well, she presumes that is his intention, even if the gesture comes off as more of a light noogie. She puffs her cheeks out in a pout, glaring up while the other smirks down at her. “‘Sup, squirt? Falling asleep on yer feet, or is there another reason yer zoning out in the middle of the kitchen?” The baseball star tosses an apple in his hand like one would with a ball, and she considers lightly kicking Oowada’s ankles in retaliation.

“Just thinking. You probably shouldn’t play with your food like that though.” She responds, and he makes a face at her.

“Ah, so ya do still got something still rattlin’ in that tiny head of yours, good. Worried I knocked everything outta ya.” He teases, reaching past her to open the fridge door. “An’ why would you do that to yerself? It’s still too early in the mornin’ fer that shit.”

“Well...I’m just a little worried. There are fewer people hanging out in the dining hall this morning.” She admits.

He scowls. “Pretty sure they’re just antsy ‘cause of that damn bear ‘nd if any of them have a lick of sense in ‘em they’ll be busy looking fer a way out or somethin’. Don’t worry yer pretty lil’ head about it.”

“...Yeah, I guess.” She can’t help but worry, but her concern isn’t exactly going to help right now, at any rate. Maybe she’ll just find something that she can take with her to eat. “Oh! But speaking of that, did you happen to see Fukawa-san on your way here? I would’ve thought she would have stayed around here this morning, honestly.”

“Her? Mm, yeah, heard her and Ishimaru goin’ at it in the halls earlier—”

“They were what?” Before he can finish his sentence, Asahina’s voice cuts in from behind her, pitch breaking midspeech.

“Fighin’! They were jus’ yelling at each other! N...Not anything weird!” Oowada backtracks in a panic when he realizes how poorly his wording could be misconstrued, even if such a thought never occurred to her. “Jeeze, ya think the Public Morals chick would engage in that shit? Not that I don’t think she might be a bit hypocritical with her rules ‘nd shit but—”

“No! No, I don’t! That’s why I was asking!” Asahina retorts with a huff, and while they bicker, Komaru takes this as an opportunity to slink out of the kitchen with a slice of toast. Unfortunately, Maizono seems to have left in that span of time, but the Clairvoyant happens to be sitting alone, so she figures she might see if she has anything interesting to contribute.

Enoshima opens an eye to stare at her upon hearing her footsteps, presumably, and before Komaru can even greet her, she speaks, monotone. “Four.”

Whatever question you’d planned to say dies in your throat, instead sputtering out a bewildered, “H-Huh?”

“It’s your lucky number for the day.” She sounds bored, as if she’d been stating the obvious, instead of some cryptic statement.

“...Isn’t that the number of death?” She is less certain of herself than she wants to be, ignoring the shiver that runs down her back upon realizing this.

Enoshima grins at that, for reasons she doesn’t understand; cheery voice a total 180 from what it’d been moments ago. “Well, perhaps it means you’ll be having a meeting with death today? Probably about time someone kicked the bucket, someone was bound to snap sooner or later... I’m sure your luck will kick in though, right? But I’ll wish you good luck anyways!”

“Thank you...?” Is that the appropriate response here? She’s not sure, but it’s probably not worth lingering on any longer than she already has, and decides with a rising urgency that maybe she should find Fukawa.

Although, recounting the conversation in the kitchen, she wonders if she should check on Ishimaru as well. Neither of them really struck Komaru as the kind to fight ( with their fists, at least, Fukawa’s mouth seemed set on picking a fight half the time ), so to say she was a little concerned might be an understatement. Given the writer had a tendency to be more openly friendly she could probably get a straight...well, an honest answer from him as to what had happened.

But she wanders for what feels like ages, and doesn’t have any luck ( haha, the irony ) in finding any hint as to where either of them might have gone, and decides to stick to her efforts to find Fukawa first. Ishimaru seemed like the type to be more resilient, so maybe she can catch him around their next meal time. If he didn’t lose track of time again, at least...

Ugh, she’d kill to honestly run into anyone around here. Not literally kill, obviously, but for reasons she’s been trying to keep quiet on, she really hates wandering the halls alone: or most places that they can access right now, to be honest. She keeps seeing this one ghost this one ghost in particular ( or at least Komaru is pretty sure she’s a ghost ), but she refuses to acknowledge her hanging around because that would be weird, and she would like to seem normal and if someone saw that it’d be a hassle to explain.

Fortunately, her search finally turns up fruitful when she finds Fukawa spacing out in the A/V room.

...Unfortunately for her, finding Fukawa earns her a pretty close brush with death. In the blink of an eye, a pair of scissors are thrust against her throat, pinning her back against the moment she steps into the room.

Oh. Uh. Oh god? Was Enoshima actually right about that? Her breath catches in her throat and for a moment, she wonders who would find her if she was killed here. Would they care? What about her parents— Makoto?

Would they sigh and just ponder if she’d ever been lucky at all?

And just as quick, the cold metal is pulled away from where it rests against her neck. “Oh. It’s just you.” The words are spoken with more warmth than she can ever recall hearing Fukawa speak with, which is really weird considering what just went down.

Ever so smartly, Komaru doesn’t actually process what is said to her, and responds with, “Isn’t that technically against the rules?”

A thin eyebrow is raised at her, scissors being tucked away under her shirt. Uh. “No? That’s what they want, right? Or are you so naive that you think that everyone would really follow the rules?”

Well. She’s probably not entirely wrong in thinking that she’s naive, but... “Isn’t, uhm. Isn’t that your thing, though? The rules?”

Fukawa looks startled to have this pointed out to her, for some reason. “Oh, hahaha, yeah. T-Totally! I was just...uh, testing you.”

Okay, now she’s just downright acting strange? Komaru’s willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she’s just acting odd because the videos are weighing on her mind. They are in the AV room, after all. Something doesn’t add up though, but she can’t quite place what it is...

Komaru opens her mouth to ask the other a question, but when she looks back over at Fukawa, her expression has gone kind of...distant? Hazy? She doesn’t quite know how to describe it, and begins to ask if she’s feeling okay when the other girl sort of...collapses into her, arms going around her loosely. She panics a little because that can’t be a sign of anything good, right? Is she feeling dizzy? She’s not passed out, and at least she’s breathing normally. She’s surprisingly pretty light, so it’s not like it’s really an issue to just help support her until she feels better.

The only warning that she gets is the feeling of the other girl tensing up before Fukawa suddenly bolts upright and shoves herself away. Komaru frowns a little, not because of the sudden change in attitude ( if anything, she finds that strangely reliving ), but moreso out of concern, attempting to reach her hands out to help steady her on her feet, but gets her hands slapped away before she can do so. “Don’t touch me.” She hisses.

Okay she’d be lying if she said that didn’t sting, but she can’t help but laugh for a moment. “Ahaha— sorry, I’m not laughing at you. For a moment there, you seemed like a completely different person! I’m glad to see you’re feeling better, Fukawa-san.” If she were more aware of the situation, she might feel more guilty for being unintentionally insensitive: but as she doesn't, she simply misses the way the other looks nervous for a moment while she wonders what that had been all about ( but can’t quite gather the nerve to actually ask ).

“Y-Yeah, real likely story. You just...just came to l-laugh at me in a moment of weakness, r-r-right?” She glares, hands clenched. “I know your type! No one is...is actually that nice w-without some kind of ulterior motive.”

Is that what she actually thinks about me?

“No! I really am glad to see you’re feeling better. You really had me scared there for a minute.” She says sincerely, offering her a reassuring smile. “If you want, I’ll listen to whatever’s bothering you. It’ll stay between us.”

Fukawa scowls, watching her for a long minute with a guarded expression. “There w-was something on the, uh, disc that Monokuma gave you, right? Just like— like everyone else?”

Huh? Well, if this is what it takes to get her trust, then she supposes she can talk about it... “Yeah. It was my parents and my older brother. It’s...kinda scary to think about, honestly. What about you, Fukawa-san? Was it also your family?”

“No. M-M-Mine was blank. Because...because there was no one to choose. Or so he says.” Her jaw is clenched. “Of course, I had to— I acted like I was the same as everyone else, b-because it’d be strange if I didn’t, right? You’d think I was, was working with them or something...everyone would really hate me after th-yhat.”

“Uhm, I’m pretty sure Togami-san didn’t even blink an eye...?” She tries to bring up as a counterpoint, but apparently she has more to say.

“A-A-And before you ask, it’s not like they’re wrong about that, so...so it didn’t surprise me to here it. But everyone got s...something similar, right? All these personal th-things about us...just how much do they really know? How are we supposed to act like, like this is all normal when they’ve got that kind of leverage over us...!”

Oh. She’s shaking— she’s scared. She’s been putting up a front? Komaru puts two and two together after a moment, gently taking the other girl’s hands in her own. This time, she doesn’t get pushed away.

“I’m scared too.” She admits. “Thinking about it like that is scary. But that’s what they want from us, right? To make us scared, so we act the way he wants us to, right?”

Fukawa remains silent, but the conflicted look on her face at least indicated that she was paying attention to her and not ignoring her like she might’ve feared. Komaru squeezes her hands in an attempt to be reassuring. “But you think we’ll all get out alive, right? So no matter what, as long as you believe that, no matter what they might know we’ll be okay. And if you don’t think you can do that on your own, I’ll be right here to support you. So we’ll definitely get out alive, it’s a promise...!”

“You...You really don’t know wh-wh-what you’re saying.” She mutters under her breath, but Komaru takes it in stride with a grin.

“That’s not a no!” It’s not a yes either, but Fukawa doesn’t humor her in further acknowledging the subject: it doesn’t really mater, because Komaru sees a hint of what might be called a smile in her gentle expression.

Yes, at least with one of your peers, you are sure you’ve grown a little closer with today ( and for today, that is a good enough start ).
