Girl I try not to hate on any ship ever but since it's a challenge imma take it :) you're right, there are no wrong answers but these are gonna be controversial so read at your own risk

1. Harry & Ginny (Harry Potter)

It's obvious. What the fuck was the shoelace? Why did they not give a shit about the main character's main love interest? I love them in the book but the movies failed to give the butterflies!

2. Tessa & Hardin (After)

Just... no. No amount of montages can fix the glaring lack of chemistry. The book made me mad so I already didn’t have a high opinion on them, but their movie scenes had me BORED.

3. JJ and Kiara (Outer Banks)

They do have chemistry, as they're very comfortable and combative with each other... I just don't see the romantic chemistry sorry 😭 they come off as just besties to me. And the way the entirety of S3 "realizing feelings" period was basically miscommunication as romantic tension kind of didn’t help changing my opinion. But I did love some of their romantic scenes in S3 so I guess they can win me over?

4. Frank & Julie (The OC)

Oh dear God. This is my biggest pet peeve about the entire show. They were supposed to be the "true love" choice while Bullit was the "safe choice" but it was like??? Like, sometimes I hate a character and am like "no but they're cute with x" but this time the closer he got to Julie the more I hated him lol, it was literally like negative chemistry. Just a mess.

5. Betty & Jughead (Riverdale)... after Season 1

It kinda hurts me to admit because I loved them in Season 1. That first love energy was immaculate. But then in the later seasons they got so stale and stiff 😭

Made it to chapter 16 today which means Feyre and I have both had our first impressions of Rhysand's Inner Circle and ohhhhhhh boy

Its hard to pinpoint why exactly, but theres something so discomforting about watching them interact. I think the main thing is that for all their "casual-ness", theres still clearly a rigid hierarchy between them and they all seem to 'know their place' so to speak, its not at all like Lucien and Tamlin's relationship in the first book which genuinely felt like a friendship that was unburdened by their status or positions. Like, theres this one moment where Mor and Amren are like kinda bickering with each other i guess, and Feyre remarks that Mor is probably super powerful if she dares talk back against Amren (in an incredibly minor matter Im pretty sure but I already forgor ngl) and because this is the book where Feyre's perspective starts being Objectively Correct all the time, I guess that's true, I guess the only reason someone would dare voice their opinion on something to this friend group is if they were physically more powerful because otherwise you just level a fucking mountain during an argument

Anyway, Im gonna switch topics for a short moment but I promise this diversion is relavant to the point above. So, sometimes when I go into the anti-tags on here looking for criticisms or complaints of the books, I instead find anti-ship posts that are mainly just about trash-talking some ship, mostly ones relating to that whole Elucien/Elriel/Gwynriel shipwar, which I already have thoughts on but I'll save those for later. In any case, one day I stumbled upon this pretty long anti-elriel post about how the gifts Elain gives Azriel on winter solstice arent actually cute and it describes how she gave him like, herbs that help with headaches "because his friends are always giving him headaches" apparently. And then that post went on a whole rant about how insensitive that was of her and that she doesnt actually understand Azriel's dynamic with his close friends, but honestly, judging from this chapter Elain was absolutely spot on

And I usually wouldn't say this because yknow, its only one chapter and we're probably gonna get the nuances of their relationship later, but this is a book written by Sarah J Maas, her characters and their relationships are rarely particularly deep and, more importantly, her writing is incredibly unsubtle. If Azriel was in any way fond of his friends shenaningans I wouldve noticed it, because Feyre wouldve noticed it like 15 times during that whole dinner. But she didnt.

Its especially bad for Cassian and Azriel because it feels like Cassian thinks they have this great rapport but Azriel just genuinely kinda dislikes him. Not to mention that whole fucking mess with Azriel and Mor and Cassian and Mor having sex so she wouldnt get married off or whatever, good god how is every conversation between them not insanely awkward

Even beyond that, idk man, theyre all just so insufferable. I dont understand how Amren, ancient eldritch being trapped in a fae body that she is, can stand to be around them, I wouldve left them 5 centuries ago if I was her. I guess the explanation is that she finds the government position interesting but its like, youre SECOND to the most boring and annoying man on the planet only kinda ruling over a court that you dont even actually care about from everything Ive heard. Again, if I was in Amren's position I would not be hanging out in an APARTMENT in a boring ass city at the behest of a quartett of stupid bozos, I wouldve weaseled my way into being the personal advisor of Beron or some shit so I could watch the Vanserra Family Drama unfold live

ahhh not the other anon but i think i saw a rb of the post you’re talking abt. im fairly new to the fandom and am rlly like. beyond sick of this sort of discourse in other fandoms. like just block and move on if you find it icky. was just wondering if it was super common in bsd’s fandom? no pressure to answer at all <333

I prefer to stick to my curated fandom corner and only really browse the "bsd art" and "bsd fanart" tags these days for multiple reasons.

So in my experience, on tumblr, it's very rare. I block freely the occasional blog that makes a comment about "how gross" X or Y is in the tags, and people who try to start ship wars and other such incidents. Those tend to be isolated little haters with no etiquette, so it's pretty smooth sailing otherwise.

I have witnessed a few incidents though, here and outside, so unpleasantness under the cut:

On tumblr, I've seen some anonymous asks sent to shame people for reblogging art of a ship they thought was problematic (whether the reblogger liked the actual ship or not), and I've seen someone ask an artist if they "were pro or anti", also on anonymous (how brave). I can't even remember which was supposed to be bad in that case, just that it looked like an attempted public execution. But those were very few and far between.

I too often see "proshippers dni" when visiting a blog, but I try to give some leeway by assuming they simply don't want to see such content. When they add a "you're disgusting/kys" or something, I block and never worry about it again.

I know from participating in a few fandom events organized by twitter dwellers that they are way more likely to start fandom drama over "problematic" ships. I've been in an event where a mod shamed someone for mentioning a ship they deemed "problematic" (in the 18+ chat even), which the other mods dealt with when notified, but the harm had been done. I've stayed away from some fanzines/fan events because the rules included terms that were clearly aimed at shaming some ships in particular, by forbidding age gaps of more than 3 years in ships for example. I've been in an event that forbade any talk of any other ships that were not the main pair of the event to prevent drama of the sort.

But, I've also seen zines that proudly said they were not judging any ship or content whether for the zine or outside of it (tagged appropriately), and I know there's a zine being made right now that was set up only for "dead dove" type of content.

Any other incidents were weird little bubbles that went ignored and disappeared after a while (calling Sigma a minor), so those are the most notable things I've seen in the 3+ years I've been in this fandom as someone on tumblr. The fandom is much smaller here, it's calmer.

The most notable ship that gets bad treatment despite how vanilla it is is OdaxDazai, because they have a 4 year age gap and Dazai was 16 when they first met. That's it. Other ships deemed "problematic" are usually self-explanatory, with history of abuse, incestuous-ish, large age gaps, etc.

IM SORRY THIS ISNT MEANT TO BE AGGRESSIVE i have not been on this part of the internet in a long time so things might have changed but.... last i heard the proship label encompassed things (in fiction) like inc/st, abusive relationships, p/do shit, etc... is that still correct? idk if thats what you were talking about in your tags because i do not know Anything about minecraft youtubers but usually when people put proship in their dni theyre denouncing that stuff. just wanted to clarify im understanding your complaints, no harm intended!

No problem!! it can be confusing lol, nothing wrong with being unsure. All-in-all, you're kinda close with that idea, but still not on target. explanations of proship vs anti, the d/mp fandom's take on it, and my thoughts on it all under the cut:

So proship as a philosophy is about wether or not things like that (in fiction) translate to real life, which is why it's connected to censorship like i mentioned in the post- if you believe that watching or reading something problematic will make more problematic things happen, that someone reading a book with a child/adult relationship makes them more likely to (or is on it's own already the same as) a person pursuing that in real life, that makes you an anti; and it also gives you a big reason to push for works like that being taken down or removed, and for people who make or read that stuff to be put in real prisons or face other real life consequences for fictional acts- because the idea is that, to an anti, these things bleed into each other.

being proship isn't equivalent to enjoying dark fiction like that, but it IS equivalent to believing that, similar to fictional violence, fictional crimes or acts of any kind can be created and consumed by artists and audiences without people actually condoning it IRL. a proshipper would say that if someone plays a video game where they murder someone, and then does it IRL, thats on the PERSON, not the media- and they hold the same position for fictional portrayals of incest, abusive relationships, and pedophilic relationships. the name comes from being pro- as in for- ships, and other content, as a whole; without it having to meet IRL moral criteria.

dark fiction freaks me out personally; the biggest ick (and actually a trigger for me) being incest; It bothers me and i stay away from it. but I don't think that people who read or make it are going to condone it IRL directly because of that media, and I believe that if they WERE to do something bad like abusing someone, it'd be an unrelated/seperate issue: an independent choice that only they are responsible for, not anything they made or watched or read.

That makes me fall under proship, even though I don't like any problematic (as in incest, abuse, adult/minor) ships. Personally, I literally follow people who like things that bother me in that way: i just block the tags so when they post something i really don't wanna see, tumblr tells me, hey, this post has this thing in it so we've spoilered it. If someone likes shipping their silly little blorbos and those silly little blorbos are kinda fucked up in a way that makes their brain go brrr, that's totally chill with me as long as they aren't hurting anyone- which, because i don't think fiction equates to reality, I believe they aren't when they're playing with their blorbos. (and since i'm pro-rpf, it's worth mentioning i feel the same about that. rpf is still FICTION, at the end of the day. you don't actually expect those people to do the things you write or draw. it's still removed from reality. that's personal preference though, many proshippers would disagree.)

So basically proship or Anti is a label that represents your philosophy on how human thoughts and behavior link to fiction. anti means you believe that consuming something fictional is equivalent to doing it in real life, or at least will make you do it IRL later, while proship means you believe that consuming something fictional is unrelated to doing it IRL, and you can enjoy something fictionally without actually enjoying it or condoning it when it's real people.

you will, of course, see more people who enjoy dark fiction under proship, and that's because they themselves consume it- so of course they're going to say it's not the same as doing it IRL. You will also, of course, see more people who don't like dark fiction at all under anti, because when you're disgusted by something like that then that reaction can be taken as "evidence" that it's morally bad. (personally, disgust-based morality doesn't hold up as a concept for me- it's a big reason why bigots believe the things they do, so using the same logic path makes me uncomfortable, but it is still common for people to use it as a way to measure wether something is okay or not.)

so, the part about silly block game.

there's lots of censoring in this part to avoid harassment, so bear with me.

In the early days of the d/mp, people decided that creating romantic content around the b-nchtr-o (Tmmy, tvbb0, and rnb00, who were all around 16 at the time) was inherently problematic. I'm not sure why, exactly, but the idea became that a fan crushing on one of them (at the exact same age!!!) or shipping them with each other, even as characters, was equivalent to being a real life child predator. again, even if the person doing it was ALSO a minor.

because it was seen as inherently problematic, behaviors like those were lumped in with other things problematic- shipping characters on the smp who had fought or killed each other, shipping characters who were related or were minor/adult, etc. there was no distinction; i was there!! it was all problematic, and all of it was seen as evidence that you were a real life predator of some kind regardless of age or disclaimers put under your content.

the label that developed for this group of "problematic content" enjoyers within the fandom became "poppytwt" or "ppytwt". (twt being there because it was mainly localized around twitter). as i explained above, because it could be because of dark fiction OR be//htr/o content, poppytwt content and ships doesn't even require it being dark fiction necessarily, nor does it require it being b//chtr/o; just one or the other, although usually the assumption is that it's both, since that combines the two reasons for being under that label. some people also call any proshippers in the fandom poppy even if they don't engage in anything problematic in-fandom, but that's generally the antis and not people themselves. if someone self describes as poppy, it's for the two main reasons above.

Additionally, the d/mp fandom has this concept of "maintagging". what this means is that if you make problematic content, you are NOT ALLOWED to tag it under the fandoms or characters it's about, because people don't want to see it in their results. ao3 has a tag filtering feature for this exact purpose, but people generally disregaurd that; you're still not supposed to tag it on the "main" tags, and doing so is seen almost like "asking for" harassment, like how some people talk about wearing crop tops alone at night.

Tntd/o managed to cross over, actually, from poppy to main/normalized in the fandom as the creators leaned into it with their characters. but for awhile even that was considered poppy.

different members of ppytwt have different opinions on RPF, but RPF was also considered poppy on it's own sometimes depending on who you were talking to and how militant they were on what got a pass and what didn't.

as be/chtr/o aged....it didn't stop?? all of them hit 18, but still, to this day, you can be cancelled for shipping them with each other or ANYONE else. it's why i'm so damn scared of the d/mp fandom, if i tagged a fic about my source with his character tag, with ANYTHING other than platonic relationships for him/me, I run the risk of being sent threats or doxxed- don't get me wrong, many antis keep to themselves, but there are also those who try to play vigilante- remember, if something fictional is equivalent to IRL, then attacking someone for enjoying a "bad" fictional thing becomes a charitable, heroic act; so sometimes antis might pursue proshippers with the goal of keeping people "safe". Many people in related fandoms or under the same creators also adopted the same ideals handed down from the d/mp fandom, so i'm wary of people who just watch my source too, or of people who like the q/mp.

people joke about the old fandom going crazy if they say tvbb0 and tmmy today, and that's because they would. they'd be furious at tmmy for doing this bit and putting himself in danger, they'd be cancelling anyone who ran with the bit in chat or had a photo of them hugging or kissing like in the music video as a profile picture, it'd be a whole mess. even today though it's still...scary.

the somewhat exception to this rule is Rnb00- people literally thirst for them and make nsfw comments openly, so while im not sure about the shipping aspect, i do know simping is widely okay- you couldn't even say you wanted to kiss them before, but now people are saying wayyy more than that...

inversely, i feel like my source has it the worst, because people won't even talk about him- or anything related to him- as an adult. it's always child this and child that, "who let him drink" and "get the alcohol away from the baby!", and of couse "don't ship him or his character with anyone that makes you a pedophile!!!" while the grown ass man they're talking about outright says he's alright with sfw fanfiction in a video where he reacts to someone's x-reader and then makes flirty nsfw jokes with every other adult man in the vicinity. every fanfic is platonic and almost all of them both irl and in game write him as sixteen. they take place in the past or, more commonly, they just straight up age him down. hell, sometimes they even age him down to like eight. even in fics where he IS an adult, he gets called a child or a teenager but never an adult.

poppytwt, like the stigma against writing for the creators or their characters, lives on. and even outside of benchtrio, again, ships between other characters that are problematic are poppytwt, so that also is still clinging on for dear life in some corners of the web. most poppytwt posts that are tagged as such usually include b//chtr/o, but not all of them; and it's worth noting many creators avoid tagging at all even if it's just the poppytwt tag, because they don't want to get swarmed.

because I ship myself with my husband of course, and also make fictional content with our sources as an extension of that (think dungeons and dragons but the character is just you...or, actually, SMPs are a great example of this since the appearance/name is generally the same, so think like an SMP!!!!!) I am poppytwt. I will always be poppytwt to most people who don't like poppytwt. and I have friends who are poppytwt and I like art made by people under poppytwt. I don't need to ship incest to be a part of that, i just need to not think the people who do aren't doing anything harmful when they ship that, and to write/draw....well, anything about septicinnit, which i do all the time.

if someone has poppytwt dni in their bio, i can't interact. if someone has proship dni in their bio, i can't interact. it doesn't matter if what they really mean is "people who like abusive ships because that triggers me", I still can't interact.

Because i think we SHOULD be tagging our content exactly so that we can filter it and find what we personally enjoy (and avoid what we dont), the concept of a DNI is technically something i'm kinda for- it is a way of monitoring and controlling your experience- but it also can be used as an excuse to harass people who forgot to read it, and i have no way of knowing if that's the case in advance.

ADITTIONALLY, because I know and care about people who consume dark fiction, I also don't want to be around people who think that makes them a bad person, regaurdless of wether or not they think i can stay. and "proship dni" is about proship, that fiction isn't reality philosophy- they are saying right out of the gate that they think it DOES make them a bad person. and I don't agree with that. it frustrates me and it makes me upset. those DNIs are based in a place of disgust and hatred for the people I care about, because of content that isn't real, and i'm never going to feel super okay with that...

there's people who don't understand what it means and use it anyway when it's really just about the content; but again, how am i supposed to know which is which?? ESPECIALLY on twitter, the anti philosophy is extremely popular and relevant and yes, trendy. people believe it, HARD, and so i can't assume they don't when they say they do. I've met real flesh and blood people in person who think that way, so if you are using these words, i'm assuming you know what they mean- that way I don't run the risk of making an actual anti upset and violating their boundaries.

you don't have to agree with me on this- if you're anti, then that's your worldview and i'm not going to change that. but that's what those words mean, the history of the block game side of things, and how they're correlated to censorship.

I love to joke around about queer subtext but I really really get nervous when I see people act like MASH was somehow deliberately queer. I think you can make a case for queerness as an anti-military device in the early seasons! but thats about it, I dont genuinely think any of these characters were meant to be read as queer themselves, and I think its important to remember that

like I love to call them all queer and say "what was the heterosexual reason for this" but at the end of the day. im well aware they weren't meant to be read that way. the heterosexual explanation is that these characters were written by heterosexual writers and queer jokes have always been a thing. MASH has fortunately aged fairly well in some of these and its easy to relate to the humour, but when people act like characters being queer is like, deliberate and canon subtext... I get nervous. ive been in a lot of fandoms over the years where this happens and it never ends well, it always ends up in queer baiting discourse and ship wars and it just. sucks

Hi, I have a few questions for you but you don’t have to answer if you’re not comfortable with it. A trigger warning for sexual trauma. Can DID occur without sexual trauma and if so how? If DID with sexual trauma happens how do you think it should be depicted along with how to depict healing from it? If I go through with the sexual trauma I intend to mostly imply it but I am not entirely sure how to make it clear. Lastly, do you think having sexual trauma in a Sonic story is too much or is it fine? But yes, DID can happen without such trauma. Though we ourselves have that trauma, our system more so formed from a huge lack of support.

Though this is all of our personal experiences, it may be different for others so they are welcome to add on their experiences!

I'll start with the Sonic story part. Personally as long as the content is warned properly and treated with respect. I'm good with it! Afterall, there's so much Sonic content with heavy HEAVY gore and other dark themes. So as long it is treated with respect. Im good with it! After all, sexual abuse is shown in a lot of kid's media [or well, when allowed to] to give awareness to children about abusers and such.

Now onto the DID aspects. For the DID that didn't directly formed from sexual trauma. More so our lack of support of mental issues that were caused by said trauma. So we broke off into a system to more so help ourselves. Our system presents more like Overt DID than Covert.

Though we do have aspects to our DID experience that is affected by our sexual trauma. Such as sexual protectors and alters who deal with hypersexuality symptoms and those with sexual repulsed [Or even both! They tend to go hand and hand, and hypersexuality is often just body betrayal.]. Alongside show off symptoms commonly caused by said trauma.

Not all media related to trauma has to depict healing as well, but it's often nice to have it included. Though it can be entirely optional and only just talk of the trauma itself and it's affects. Though with what I want depicted is respect for it and such.

I'll love to see hypersexuality and sexual repulsive reactions to be depicted and shown. Since they are common responses that often come together such as for ourselves. In a lot of spaces, hypersexuality is just seen as "Haha I love doing this thing" and such, when it is far from that.

I'll also love to see how it affected their life, how they react to things and so on. Even to how they dress or respond to things.

And with the more DID aspects. To have alters who deal with those trauma + stress responses to be treated as a part in any other system as their fellow alter members. Alongside sexual protectors shown as well and such.

Personally I've got no problem with fan theories but thus far I've seen ppl say Virginias a pedo, brenners a pedo, Henry's a pedo. It's like damn all these guys are pedophiles? I love fan theories don't get me wrong, I even love ones that might delve into uncomfortable topics, but there is something very unsettling about the ones that serve to depict a character like Henry as a p*dophile, particularly as I said, when a lot of this orbits the idea of him being gay or queer coded. Maybe this is entirely my sensitivity as someone who is gay and my familiarity with anti-lgbt stereotypes (both in media and fandom) but it really, really disturbed me watching how this fandom spread the Henry/Vecna is gay theory because it almost instantly and simultaneously evolved into Henry is homophobic, Henry is a p*dophile, Henry SA'd Will (A character that is in fact portrayed as gay) at RAPID SPEED and all the weird things people started coming out with to validate this stuff when they have next to no biases in canon and are drawn from VERY far out theories and sometimes weird misinterpretations is just. Not feeling good for me.  I recall back when the second part of S4 first ended there was some ableist weirdos taking about Henry and how creepy and off he is, and certain traits he had that make him "creepy and off" (even though autistic people were explaining those traits that people find creepy and weird in Henry are autistic traits and this was sounding ableist) some of them mentioned they thought Henry was trying to have sex with Eleven. Some of them even insisted that Henry wanted to make Eleven his "queen" and that's what he was trying to say to her. They related him to a predator who grooms little girls, etc.

Those were awkward reads that were largely acknowledged as coming from a strange place of biased suspicion toward men interacting with children, particularly young girls, which is pretty harmful for all men and maybe not something to splash around the fandom carelessly when the basis wasn't much more than that Henry was a man interacting with a young girl. So these takes RIGHTFULLY got shut down pretty quickly and I haven't seen them since.

But then someone did the same thing only they changed Eleven to Will and little girls to little boys. Instead of getting the same skeptical and sensitive treatment as Henry wants to do sexual things to Eleven, everyone ate the "gay alternative" up and it spread like wildfire. Even though Henry never even interacted with any little boys period. So its really hard to come at why Henry is a gay p*dophile got people so invested and so much traction when Henry is a straight p*dophile had people reacting with aversion and warranted caution to the point it totally vanished and I haven't seen any trace of it in Henrys tag since the ending of S4 - but almost every day theres a new post about homophobic gay p*dophile Henry Creel since the moment that was mentioned- as if thats something not rooted in epic homophobia???? Which is apparently permissible as long as it does something to promote a ship or whatever, idk. Because literally what is it about homosexuality and p*dophilia that just hits for this fandom exactly? Furthermore, there is a long running trope in media from a misconception in real life that sexual abuse leads to homosexuality and that people who are sexually abused are more likely to go on to sexually abuse others when this isn't true and only a small majority of people who are sexually abused sexually abuse others. (Complex victim blaming!) I think this fandom does know Henry was abused and there is more to him than evil and that might even be true of Vecna in his current form and they want to draw attention to that, because they know those of us in the fandom who talk about it might be right, but simultaneously they don't want to be accused of sympathizing themselves so the sympathy cant be too much and everything that could be seen as sympathetic about Henry must also be marred and twisted in a supremely ugly light. That way we can say "Henry was a victim who suffered terribly but he also truly deserves the most horrific and nasty death we can possibly conjure! Both things can coexist! We're not ableist/antivictim/etc". And it also gets heavily tangled in with this fandoms fixation on B*ler and proving its really real and Mike and Will are end game and the entire point of the show is for these closeted gay teens in the 80s to make out, as if the whole damn thing is some kind of horny self indulgent queer YA romance novel and not a actually anything to do with the science fiction adjacent horror based television series it really is.

"Henry suffered oppression because of his autistic coding and it was popular to institutionalize ND people in his time period which is why his mother wanted a doctor to take him away and make him normal" Canon supported fact. This gets transformed into -> Henry was gay, his mother seeking out Brenner was an allogory to conversion therapy which means he suffered homophobic oppression but before you feel too sad for him just know he's a s*xual predator. "His mother was emotionally abusive" Canon supported theory that instantly gets transformed into -> Henry's mother raped him, but before you feel too bad for him just know that he raped Will. ETC Sorry to launch into a rant but its getting crazy. Like we were all here on our ancient philosopher brain shit yesterday talking about the undertones and suggestions of emotional abuse in Henry's childhood and then wham!! Whole post thats like actually besties his mother wasn't JUST emotionally abusive, she RAPED him!! Like Woaah. Settle down, campion, this is an anti-Virginia space but lets try to keep an iota of fucking sense about it. Its absolutely true that Brenner, or perhaps not Brenner entirely personally, but his program and associates as well, violated the test subjects. They were completely de-personed and turned into "numbers", stripped of all autonomy and basic human rights. They were simply bodies to serve the government and Brenner's facility. If there is any true suggestions of any type of SA it would logically be within the Hawkin's lab because SA is very common in environments like that where you have a bunch of human beings who have been imprisoned and stripped of their humanity by a bunch of cunts who lord absolute supreme power over them. Brenner's lab would have been an absolute playground for abusers of all kinds, it wouldn't be hard to imagine there were those of the sexual kind lurking about, particularly when we also know that Brenner was possibly employing shady people and was, according to Henry's suggestion of them all technically being prisoners there, possibly extorting them with their less than good actions. Its very easy to make a believable case for all of that but the thing is that doesn't do ANYTHING to depict Henry as a sexual pr*dator. It just makes the abuses he and Eleven potentially suffered all the worse. And heres the thing, I could believe the theories that Terry was impregnated against her will and knowledge in the Hawkins lab while she was undergoing experimentation from Brenner and I can believe Henry was the "doner" also against his will and knowledge. That's the type of violation and I can truly believe Brenner would commit in the quest to obtain knowledge through another test subject possibly as powerful as Henry and what he’d do to create one. We also have Brenner’s obsession with Henry that always struck me as a little uncomfortable given the way he treated Henry overall. So I'm not saying theories of this nature are wrong and shouldn't be talked about but theres a difference in them serving to illustrate the depravity and abuse of power that can and does occur in these situations and also to explain things in canon that seem to be lazy or not properly explored (Like the ID of Eleven’s bio dad) VS theories that really don't serve to add much to anything other than demonization of a character that already went through so much god damn shit and we seem to wanna make sure people don't sympathize with him too much because we've been forced to acknowledge there is grounds in canon for him to actually be sympathetic.

Now AS for the bathtub scene(s) I'm honestly gonna disappoint because I don't think its that deep? At least not in that particular way anyhow.  Will was placed in a bath because he was running a fever. A common home remedy to break a child's fever is to put them in a warm bath. But this is the horror genre so Will's fever and his illness were not normal, its scary horror stuff and I gotta point out all horror writers play fast and loose with science. Its real enough to disturb and terrify but not real enough to actually be backed up by real medical facts because thats not the point but we saw through S2 and S3 that the Mindflayer can ""infect"" its victims like a virus, which is exactly what it acts like, except its a weird scary supernatural virus and thats the basic schematics of it. Heat can ward off or slow down this infection because the MF is sensitive to heat. The upside down is suggested to be a very cold place in its present form and thus the creatures that inhabit it and have adapted to it prefer the cold. They have a whole scary alien biology thing going on. They seem to be amalgamation of plant, insect and almost amphibious traits. The Demogorgon's / Demodogs are considered to have slimy pale skin. (Id imagine it to be much like a toad or a fog with the lack of pigment probably being due to the supposed darkness of the upside down) and we also know they start life as slug-tadpole like creatures. Its also suggested they could be parasitoid and have parasitic traits (kind of like spider-wasps) because we saw them using human bodies as hosts for their offspring (Will and Barb). Note, THIS is all very interesting because we don't know if this is normal for the upside down and its inhabitance or if this somehow happened due to the mindflayer. When we saw Henry first make physcial contact with the mindflayer the environment didn't look like its inhabitance would be creatures adapted to dark, cold and moisture. The atmosphere looked to be dry / arid and desolate (personally to me it almost looked destroyed, as if something apocalyptic had happened there which is also interesting given the mindflayer was chillin right in the middle of it) But we did see a Demogorgon in this environment just strolling about seemingly unaltered. But was it native to that place or was it drawn there possibly by the MF from its own dimension? This kind of falls in line with the suggestion that the mindflayer might not be native to the upside down but to another dimension adjacent to the upside down or whichever dimension it was that the Demogorgon's were native to or maybe again it wasn't native to the same dimension as them either. It wouldn't be crazy to imagine that maybe where ever we saw Henry when he made connection to the MF this wasn't the actual "upside down" as we know it now or the home of either the Demogorgons or the mindflayer. We also see "Vecna's Mindscape" which seems to also be another dimension separate from the upside down. I think it metaphorically represents Henry's broken childhood being pieces of his old home floating about obliterated in an endless red sea. Henry seems to have literally created that lil pocket dimension on his own. Which also shows HENRY is possibly capable of creating whole dimensions. This could all ring true because the D*ffers also took the time to reference Stephan Kings universe of the Talisman directly and that universe is one that deals with multiple dimensions. Not to mention they also referenced HP Lovecraft's works and that shits known to go OFF with the extradimensional, eldritch crazy horror stuff. There is so much about the upside down we don't know but we DO at least know we’re gonna be learning a lot more soon, through S5 and possibly through the VR game that is shown from Henry/Vecna’s POV. ALL THAT ASIDE, Henry was supposedly transmogrified by the mindflayer to have similar traits as the Demogorgons. He says that the mindflayer responsible for his "ascension" from his human form. Vecna is also a slimy wet creature that appears to literally have some suggestion of the mindflayer / "upside down" we currently know literally growing out from inside of him. (All those vines and tentacles that have mutated and encased his gangrenous human base. Its as if he has literally become a physical extension of the MF/upside down. Its also worthy to note that we’ve seen demodogs act “independently” of the MF. Though they're all connected to the “hive mind”, they are also able to follow their own instincts and do their own things UNTIL they are “called upon” and directed to do something in particular. Henry doesn’t have to be controlling them, or the MF, until necessary and I think that can apply to them all separately as well (Henry, MF, Demo creatures.) 

So it makes sense that Vecna is "harmed" by the same things as the Demogorgans and the mindflayer. (specifically heat) 

So this "infection" is suggested to also be a part of Henry (and has completely consumed him mind body and soul) which is what made him Vecna. (I just mentioned spider wasps, Henry is represented by a spider. So maybe that likeness could be serious analogy for the way Henry seems to be another host to the MF himself. I personally view Henrys "connection" with the MF as both symbiotic and parasitic, from both parties.) We saw that once infected by the MF's influence the host slowly becomes a part of the "hive mind". Its intention is to conquer and spread, which is true of all viruses, naturally its NOT going to want ANYONE to interfere with that which is what Joyce was doing by trying to alleviate Wills fever. That puts the virus, the mindflayer, Vecna, whoever we want to call it on the defensive and into attack mode to prevent this interference and neutralize the threat. Will saying "HE LIKES IT COLD" was a reference literally to the weird ass alien biology of these freaky mother fuckers who are literally living in a dark, damp twisted dimension parallel to the normal one and are adapted to this particular climate.

I don't think it has a single thing to do with Virginia's bath scene. Where we just saw her running a bath and Henry having a bit of cheeky fun by remotely using his illusion powers to make her think the tap wasn't working and a whole swam of fat black spiders were crawling out of the drain to give her a fright. I've mentioned it before but the visions Henry shows Virginia are mostly shown as general phobias like spiders for example because Virginias wrongs were not as simple to manifest and reflect physically as his fathers were. Victor was full of trauma and guilt from his very real and horrifying mistakes in the war vs Virginia who didn't feel guilt at all and whose wrong doings were more not loving her weird autistic son enough and girlbossing a bit too hard by going behind her husbands back to have said son institutionalized. I really think if Virginia was ever doing something as horrific and disgusting as raping her son, Henry might be able to conjure up something a little bit more complex, personal and pathological to haunt her with. But instead he torments her with some spiders.

Also keeping in mind also Henrys 12 at this point. Hes not a literal criminal mastermind or demon. He probably wouldn't have a clue how to actually manifest something complex and personal enough to hurt someone who is otherwise is just chillin, vibing, thinking shes totally doing the right thing. Its also suggested Henry didn't know that Victor didn't know that Virginia was planning what she was planning which suggests in Virginias mind this wasn't even a big deal -- she wasn't even worried about it as there was no suggestion to Henry that his father wasn't in on it, hence exasperating Henry's anger with his father and possibly sister. Through Virginia's mind it probably just seemed like the whole family was way eager to just get rid of him so they could live a happy normal life without him. I can imagine how that would have CRUSHED a sensitive kid like Henry who was already struggling with being othered and feeling wrong and broken to the point that he thoughts spiders were super relatable because people hate them and want to get rid of them.

THIS ALL SAID, I absolutely agree that themes in S2 strike the way they strike on purpose because yeah you literally have a foreign entity invading the body against its will but no its not meant to literally say that Henry raped Will and that raping Will was Henrys literal intentions or goals here. Its more the fact that Henry is no longer a human and has in many ways become a living curse/virus and all those susceptible to infection (such as Will) were gonna get infected, there's no preference for little boys and no weird ass pyschosexual motive behind it that actually builds the gay or p*do case at all. 

The canon and empathized motive behind it is revenge on the people and the world that hurt and rejected him as a human and all the other humans like him. These other humans like Henry are also the ones Vecna particularly seeks and coverts because he thinks they SHOULD be on his side. they SHOULD join him. They should know his pain because he knows theirs and he WANTS to do something about it. And perhaps I'm out of my mind on this but I think thats more a tragic representation of Vecna's previous Human self's desire to be accepted and understood than anything. Also Edit: If Vecna’s victims prove he’s gay yadda yadda and all that other stuff why are so many of them female? Max. Crissy. Heather. Barb. That one lady. Eleven. I’d think at the point of becoming a supernatural terror from beyond the veil “internalized homophobia” wouldn’t be bothering him and he could go after only guys and be as f*ggy as he truly wanted if that was the case, huh? And funnily enough it was Chrissy, Max, Heather and Eleven we see him try to comfort. We actually don’t see that with the male victims. They don't given get a glimpse of that. And all the most important / impactful ones are female except for Will and Billy. Maybe he’s not a depraved homosexual rapist! Maybe he’s a depraved bisexual rapist instead! Smh, bi-erasure at its finest. I personally stan an equal opportunity king. *SARCASM* *JOKING*

I'm glad you guy's liked it! It's kind of strange that the OSOMATSU SAN community on tumblr is mostly full of antis because of osomatsu san's crude humor. Hello! I’m Cyrus, any pronouns.

I’ve been diagnosed with severe OCD of several kinds by a professional and it deeply effects my every day life.

I thought it’s be interesting to post how somebody with OCD would interact with the Pokémon world, and also I wanted to give myself some self representation! There’s barely any popular characters of any franchise with OCD as far as I’m aware so might as well create a character myself!

Also, I’m going to be projecting HEAVILY onto Parker as a character. But that does not mean that everything is 1:1 with me. Quite the opposite actually.

Anyways I hope anybody can learn a thing or two about OCD after I post some things 👍

General things to know for this blog:

No shipping of any kind will be happening with Parker. She is a child.

You’re allowed to be rude in asks but Parker will bite back. But don’t just be an asshole for no reason either, asks like those will be deleted without warning.

The kinds of OCD Parker has are: Checking, Contamination, and Intrusive Thoughts. If you’re confused about these, look them up or ask Parker!

I might take days of breaks at a time since to be honest even talking about OCD is exhausting especially if I’m going off my own experiences. Don’t feel bad about asking questions though!

Blanket unreality warning for this blog. The only thing that’s unreality about it is the Pokémon and how they effect the world. OCD is a VERY REAL disorder.
