"Man, I get that we're supposed to be wearing our sleepwear to simulate an emergency situation," Ojiro muttered, "But they should at least let Iida change out of that Ebeneezer Scrooge fit…"
"I thought the little nightcap was cute!" Ashido protested in her hot green zebra stripe pajamas. "Plus, it's a level of dress-down we don't normally see! It's cute!"
"But remember our first Rescue Training?" Ojiro pointed out. "How sensei said we could forego our costume if it meant we wouldn't-"
"Um- Halt- no, uh, Stop right there!" Midoriya's voice called out.
"Oh yeah, I forgot there's a Villain aspect." Ashido murmured. "Tailman, let's fend off this attacker wh-"
Ashido and Ojiro froze as they stared at Midoriya, who, for his pajamas, was wearing a green rabbit kigurumi, and if the collarbones were any indication, nothing else.
The three stared at one another.
"I see." Ashido recoiled, nose bleeding. "He's come right out of the gate with a powerful attack!"
"I haven't done anything yet?" Midoriya tilted his head in confusion, the rabbit ears flopping slightly with the movement.
"Hrk-" Ojiro coughed, a fatal blow delivered.

Pro Hero! Class 1-A's most popular demographics and just some thoughts about them
Pinky: mass appeal. Pretty much everyone loves her, but she's especially popular with pre-teens because of her bubbly, fun attitude and physical strength.
Froppy: most popular with children BUT unsurprisingly beloved by people who live near the coasts, where she usually works, because of her rescue capabilities and no-nonsense but kind demeanor.
Ingenium: most popular with people in the 20s-50s demographic. He's not great with young people (somewhat stiff personality) but his competence, dedication, and compassion are widely respected. Old people also like his proper behavior and he has a large, thirsty contingent of female fans in their 20s because of how hot he is under the helmet.
Uravity: super popular with teenage girls in particular as many see her as a role model, especially those who also come from low-income backgrounds. She also has a large fan following from the martial arts community and often assists in demonstrations at martial arts schools.
Tailman: His largest following is martial artists of all ages and he likes it that way. Older senseis in particular highly respect him, especially his adaptability and creation of new styles to accommodate his Quirk, so he regularly gets invitations from all over Japan and other countries known for martial arts (like China and Brazil) to come learn and develop new fighting techniques.
Chargebolt: huge popularity with little kids for his friendly, goofy demeanor and cool Quirk. As someone with a very difficult to control Quirk that took him until he was 19 or 20 to fully master, he visits kindergartens and elementary schools regularly to help newly-manifested kids control theirs. Also has a sizeable following among gay men for his good looks.
Red Riot: mass appeal. He hits vitually every demographic with ease and the public adores him. He is considered "Husband Material" by many and receives legions of marriage proposals. He keeps every gift and drawing kids send him and he is known for being very kind and patient during and after rescues. His dedication towards chivalry has paid off in the form of being one of the most consistently popular heroes in Japan.
Anima: most popular among animal rights activists, environmentalists, and animal lovers of all kinds. As a hero who communicates primarily in JSL, he also has a lot of fans in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities as well as among people with speech disabilities.
Sugarman: he has a small but dedicated group of fans in the crossover community of "guys who like baking" and "guys who like bodybuilding."
Tentacole: HUGE popularity among people with mutant-type Quirks. He's not primarily a battle or rescue hero so he doesn't get a lot of attention from the media, but his recon skills and rock-solid temperament are unmatched and are often the thing that changes the tide of a difficult battle to favor the heroes. Other heroes speak very highly of him, so he has been getting increased media attention lately. The day he went on a talk show and took his mask off on-air broke the internet and led to a national conversation about discrimination against people with mutant Quirks.
Earphone Jack: she deliberately flies under the radar as she primarily works underground recon. She has a small fan following who try to spot her every time she re-surfaces in the background of a larger battle that requires her offensive capability. There is a massive online conspiracy theory that the hero Earphone Jack and popular solo punk musician Kyouka are actually the same person.
Cellophane: popular among teenage boys and young men. Women like him too, but his laid-back and sarcastic personality meshes well with younger guys. Surprisingly huge group of lesbian fans for the same reason, especially his dry humor. Everyone wants to be his friend and his interviews are always hilarious.
Tsukuyomi: really, really popular among goths, punks, and other alternative-types; basically, anyone who feels like an outsider, especially kids who are treated as villainous because of their Quirk. He gives talks about Quirk assumptions and mentors a lot of at-risk teenagers in his spare time. His serious and reserved demeanor makes it difficult for the general public to connect with him, but his bravery and humility make up for it and he is generally well-liked and well-respected as a hero. Dark Shadow has entire Instagram accounts dedicated to it, as does Tsukoyomi's soothing, sonorous voice.
Shouto: his demographic is solidly adults in their 20s-50s. His battle prowess is nothing to joke about and he is a hero who primarily faces the most dangerous villains Japan has to offer. He is also unfathomably hot, so his good looks have a huge fanbase of their own, especially among young women and teenage girls. Something often said about Shouto is "the camera loves him, the microphone hates him" and interviews are not his forte. His extremely blunt and quite awkward personality puts old people and kids off him, but his dedication and compassion during rescues usually change his naysayers’ minds. He is certified as a field medic and, controversially, is a major advocate for both villain rehabilitation and for heroes to have more accountability for the way they treat others behind closed doors. His characteristically blunt "It literally doesn't matter how powerful a hero is if they're beating their kids at home" soundbite has swayed a lot of people to his cause.
Invisible Girl: does not have a fanbase and does not want a fanbase. She works extremely dangerous undercover and espionage missions and virtually nothing is known about her by the public except that there's a hero registered as "Invisible Girl." Every student and teacher who knew her at U.A. is sworn into secrecy and they often go a year or more without hearing anything from her.
Dynamight: unexpectedly, his single biggest, loudest, most dedicated demographic is pre-teen girls. We're talking feral little bastard girls who growl at the other kids and get into trouble at school. Let's be clear: this is not a crush situation, he's just like their god or something. Other heroes, like Cellophane and Chargebolt, tease him about being Great Explosion Murder God-sama, but he personally thinks it's funny and secretly likes his unhinged hellions. Other than them, his next biggest demographics are teenagers and young adults for his good looks, unmatched combat skill, and intense, unforgettable personality. Even as a mature adult, he's not very good with young children (he often scares them even by accident), and old people and the media find him rude and unlikeable. The public is surprised when he begins speaking regularly, intelligently, and very seriously about the importance of stopping Quirk-hierarchies in schools and society in general as they lead to bullying and discrimination for those treated as lesser (like Quirkless people) and psychosocial and personality issues for those treated as greater (like himself). Related to this cause, he is the face of the growing group of heroes who want to stop using the ranking system. In general, the public doesn't quite know what to do with him as none of the facets of his personality and causes seem to line up for anyone that doesn't know him personally.
Deku: mass, international appeal. His warm, kind, enthusiastic personality and natural empathy makes him extremely popular with civilians, even if his crybaby status never went away as he got older. He is seen as the face of modern Japanese heroics and usually represents his country at various hero conferences around the world. Though he has the most powerful combat-oriented Quirk among Japanese heroes, his power is so great that most of the time, he only gets called out for the most dangerous situations outside of his regular patrols. If needed, other countries also call on him to help in their own situations, so regretfully, Deku has to leave most smaller and medium incidents to other heroes so he can be available for the biggest problems. While he’s on-call and waiting to be summoned, Deku works in the control room of various missions as a gifted combat strategist and Quirk analyst, often working as a consultant for hero team-ups and match-ups against villains. However, his many fans and friends are also increasingly worried about him as he never seems to take days off or time to himself; he has unwittingly and embarrassingly sparked a national debate about work-life balance for heroes, especially as his mentor essentially worked himself into the ground trying to be everything to everyone everywhere at once. This debate led to a new labor law requiring heroes to take mandatory, regular vacations, work a reasonable number of hours per week, and have frequent check-ins with a therapist to prevent mental burnout. As a person, Deku also gained great admiration for the op-ed he published supporting Dynamight’s cause against Quirk-hierarchies, admitting the truth about One For All and his prior Quirkless status in the process.
Grape Juice: widely despised except among men who self-identify as “incels.” By his early 20s, his hero license has been suspended multiple times as credible accusations and eyewitness accounts of sexual misconduct are brought to light and he is currently facing permanent revocation of his hero status, multiple lawsuits, and possibly prison time. Many heroes are expected to testify against him, including his co-workers at the small, unpopular agency that took him on after graduation when no one else would as well as all of his former classmates (including a modulated voice testimony by the elusive Invisible Girl) and retired hero Eraserhead.
Creati: her intelligence, leadership skills, and bravery make her an incredibly popular hero among the public at large. She is also stunningly beautiful, which definitely doesn’t hurt her public perception, and she has many admirers all over Japan. Despite this aspect of her fanbase, she is seen as an exemplary leader among heroes and is highly respected by all demographics, particularly women.

🌸 HELLO HI HOW ARE YOU I HAVE COME TO HUMBLY REQUEST A HC FOR THE LOVE OF MY LIFE OJIRO MASHIRAO I DO BELIEVE I HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE
(idk if u remember me I was that one person who asked abt the ojiro ai you made and I LITERALLY LOVE IT SO MUCH OMG)
Oh, hey hey hey 👀💕 ofc, I always remember a fellow Ojiro fan! Ahh, good to see you're still loving our tailman. I have so many headcanons for him that I actually had to use a random number generator just to pick a category 🤣 and you got: future!
A headcanon for Mashirao Ojiro, My Hero Academia:
Tumblr media
Even as a Pro Hero, Ojiro still struggles to stand out. To the point he can rescue civilians from certain death and they'll refer to him as "some hero".
He's used to it, but his friends demand justice. In an attempt to stand out, Ojiro decides to switch up his look by taking inspiration from two unignorable people from his past: Lion Hero, Shishido; and the impossible to forget once you've met him, Bakugou.
Ojiro starts styling his hair into spikes, and swaps out the martial arts gi for a sleeveless, skin-tight black shirt with his signature fur trim.
The difference in attention is astounding, and it isn't long before Ojiro's climbing up the Hero Billboard Charts to a respectable rank #34, where he belongs 😤❤

the continuing adventures of gamzee homestuck and friends, uh… continue! (bnha s5e6-e11)
"be careful, young deku, your next fight is with shinso -" me, completely ignoring the plot relevance with one for all and whatnot: HELLYEAH -- bakugo: "hurry up and master that quirk so we can fight again! I've no patience for weak pokemon" or something. point being, big gold/silver rival vibes. pointbeingfuckbakugo
(iida's turn next) still kinda wished he'd gone with Emergency Exit. I forget if he went with Recipro, or if that's just what he calls his moves and he went with Ingenium for the hero name -- iida: "I was third place at the sports festival!" 'XDDDD that bit with hatsume's still funny whenever I think about it
I have absolutely no idea who Tetsutetsu's teammates are but this is fascinating
"kaibara's rotation is a technique where -- (granted, that's only funny to me) -- why is he also spinning his feet, tho? he'd just drill into the ground doing that. I guess it gives him an option if he wants to change lateral direction in a hurry
so… iida's mufflers are… teeth? the adult ones push the baby mufflers out? idfk go figure
but yeah, mudman's kinda neat
I thought fire was sposed to, y'know, melt metal. Also I'm pretty sure sudden temperature changes fuck it right up regardless.
beats me what Ojiro's done different that repels all the mud, but I guess I'm glad he got something else going for him. heck, even hagukure unlocked that flashbang move of hers; Tailman seems like he'd have a hard time not falling behind.
kinda surprised the show didn't punish Mudman for running away from a losing battle tbh
'XD poor todoroki suddenly sucked up all the flames and turned em into some kinda Spirit Bomb, then got a clonk on the head for his trouble
iida: "rescue is my first priority!" EMERGENCY. EXIT.
"it was a huge mistake leaving iida for later" god. dammit. show. what was he sposed to do, grab his ankles so goddamn sonic the speed demon could rip his arms off? -- ohhh, mudman is the guy who looks like a Bleach hollow. huh.
pony or whatever horn girl's name is: "I'll go higher than he can reach and see what happens" I mean. shoji's arms have kinda looked a bit like wings to me from the start… I dunno what I wanna bet that he can flap them hard enough to get lift, but I dunno if I'd bet much against it either -- not to tell on myself too much, but this is a real "me" strategy. I always find myself in positions where my only move is to put off losing in the hopes that a better idea shows up. one rarely does. (granted, I'm mostly thinking about MtG, and I guess I've gotten a bit better, but "more time for thinking" is still my first priority in most situations) -- (timer buzzed, is a draw) Shishida: "in a real fight, running away and waiting for rescue is a reasonable option." make up your damn mind show, are you American or a filthy commie
pretty sure iida had plenty of space to veer to the side and avoid the falling thingy, just saying
hmm, we got dark souls helmet and some random dark-haired girl they're hyping up vs bakugo and headphone jack. are they gonna play this one out as well, even tho the only lead in it is bakugo?
bakugo continues to do bakugo things, ie be an abusive liability on purpose and probably not get punished for it -- "I've gotten stronger too! I've figured out that I can use people as stepping stones, and it works better than only seeing them as obstacles! next I'll advance to realizing they have feelings, and can therefore be used as tools!"
"with unexpected teamwork (read, any teamwork at all), bakugo's team wins!" -- the annoying thing is, he still consistently acts like (and says, often explicitly) he's the only person who matters. nothing about bakugo's attitude or actions feels reconcilable with a person who could strategize in ways that allow their teammates to do anything, or even account for their presence. hell, seeing bakugo show capacity to strategize at all still feels weird. we saw him hand out those grenades to his teammates - people he constantly refers to as extras, people whose names he refuses to use - as if he thought they were competent enough, or worthy enough, to use them. bakugo gets the benefits of a mindset he is clearly portrayed as not having. -- bakugo is an rpg character whose player is a powergamer. the player is rp'ing as an abuser who can't see potential or worth in other people, and is also completely ignoring bakugo's personality whenever it would lead to suboptimal choices in combat. (does it count as an AU if it's literally the only possible explanation)
all might: "you have a good childhood friend" fuck off. one of the first things we saw bakugo do in this show was tell someone to kill themself and he hasn't improved in five seasons and two movies.
I would think team B would be talking more about who all they'll have Monoma copy. the character is aggravating to watch, but his ability ought to be affecting how people talk about matchups more. can't he copy enemies' quirks just as easily as allies'?
okay monoma's proving to be a bit of a nonbo with shinso's quirk. gonna be hard to get somebody to "answer" you if you never shut up long enough for them to do so.
hm. them black band thingies, I think they're called. -- ah, I was right about the adding in other peoples' quirks to one for all. …I think. pretty sure. six more though??? 'XD damn
you'd kinda think the teachers would have some way of communicating to the students whether a match was canceled when something unexpected happened. seemed to be like nobody was sure if that would be the case, then one person threw a punch and they're just all back in it again. not a very well-controlled situation, for a training exercise.
also… welp. guess I'm going five episodes in. gotta wrap this match up, eh? least I started earlier this time, and somehow got through the first few a bit faster than usual.
yeah yeah mineta, you're a garbage character with a deceptively-cool quirk, now kindly fuck off and let the likable characters back onscreen
Tumblr media
eraserhead, apparently: "well, your quirk, like mine, is one that either ends a fight immediately or does nothing at all, so I guess you qualify for Remedial Spider-Man Training. we can't have you going out there without at least this"
k plotline wrapped, I can give it a rest now 'XD now I know shinso should be sticking around, or at least added to class B. these tournament arcs seem to go on forever sometimes but… new powers. strategies. character development at the same time (fine, fake/"informed" character development in bakugo's case). this is my shit.

Note
Only four members of 1-A remain (unless we're counting Mineta, and I understand if you don't want to deal with him) so WBMR for Sero, Shouji, Ojiro, and Sato
Only four? Weird, it felt like more...
Sero Hanta/Cellophane is now Acrobat Ace Sero, Assigned Gemstone is Goshenite, Essence is Air/Chaos (Creative);
He's the closest thing Wondaria will ever get of a Spidey equivalent (if you know, you know);
Partakes in yoga as a therapeutic hobby. It's also good exercise for his flexibility;
Even after the disaster, he still takes things at his own pace. But he says that he's working on some future plans;
This prompts him to be more creative and sneaky with his powers. He wants to channel his frustrations in a productive and more tactical way;
He tries his best to be supportive of those who were heavily affected by the deterioration of his homeworld;
Sero aims to find that perfect balance between adapting his new life as a Magi, and retracing his steps into heroism.
Shoji's comin' right up:
Shoji Mezo/Tentacole is now Mighty Multicole Shoji, Assigned Gemstone is Silver Rutile Quartz, Essence is Earth/Chaos;
He's yet another one who tries his best to keep his composure;
Though he faces his struggles with realism and reasoning. Heroism involves sacrifices, after all;
He's very mature and introspective, and believes that (almost) everything happens for a reason, hence why Wondaria rescued him and the others;
Due to his self-consciousness about his appearance, Wondaria's kindness and acceptance sort of threw him out of balance at first;
Is very popular with children. They say that he looks like a bat;
Alongside Jirou, his powers are also good for information gathering and dirt exposing;
Wants to solve conflicts without resorting to brute force, but will do so if the situation grows complicated. Just because he's calm, that doesn't mean he isn't angry on the inside.
Ojiro is next:
Ojiro Mashirao/Tailman is now Tornado Tailmaster Ojiro, Assigned Gemstone is Heliodor, Essence is Chaos;
He doesn't use wondarian magic a lot. Ojiro is more comfortable with what he already knows;
Although he's very curious about Wondaria's wildlife and outdoors, and is interested in learning more about it;
However, it does help keep his mind and body in check, which it's good for his training;
Just like Shoji, he's very popular with children due to his tail, and they always want to touch it;
Will demonstrate martial arts basics and self-defense to other beginner Magis if kindly requested;
Even if you're not a Magi, he may suggest you to learn self-defense techniques for worst case scenarios;
In general, he likes to be prepared and will help others to prepare themselves. Because if properly prepared, future misfortunes can be avoided.
Lastly, but not least important, sweetboi Sato:
Sato Rikido/Sugarman is now Sweet Prince Sato, Assigned Gemstone is Lemon Quartz, Essence is Chaos (Creative);
As expected, his hobby is cooking pastries and other kinds of sweets. It's what comforts him and makes others happy;
He's also fascinated about icing cookie decoration videos, and wants to replicate what he sees;
Feeling inspired by Wondaria's aesthetic, Sato aims to adopt a sweeter style to his new appearance as a Magi;
He also aims to be more balanced in action, so uses wondarian magic to develop healing abilities;
He becomes a kitchen witch, and all his treats acquire a special magic touch, powering up anyone who eats them;
It seems that as a result of the disaster, he wants to surround himself more with soft things in search of healing and comfort;
However, he's not one to be underestimated. His goal is to show everyone that soft and tough can be combined harmoniously.

Class 1A gathers the evidence, and comes to a decision.
Todoroki and Bakugou are dumb.
Full disclosure: This was originally a prompt from me, so I’m SLIGHTLY biased, but this is some of the softest, sweetest TDBK I’ve read in a long time. @bideroo took the trope that works for tdbk so well -- they were dating all along, the dumbasses -- and ran with it. I couldn’t stop smiling from beginning to end, especially when Todoroki utters The Line -- you’ll know it when you get there. My cold, dead heart melted. The fic is structured somewhat  like a 5+1, and there’s some great 1-A cameos, including one from the oft-underrated Ojiro. (It’s Tailman’s birthday as I write this, btw.) Bideroo has been on a tdbk tear lately, tucked in between her more usual rarepair fare. (Is tdbk still considered a rarepair?) I recommend A Work of Fiction for a “real” 5+1 with a fun twist ending.

FEATURE: Everything You Need to Know about My Hero Academia Before Season 5
Tumblr media
  In times like these, we need heroes now more than ever. Luckily, the plucky up-and-coming super students of UA Class 1-A are making a comeback in the newest season of My Hero Academia. With a massive following thanks to its inspiring themes, memorable characters, and incredible animation, the ongoing origin story of Izuku Midoriya has truly solidified itself as a modern anime classic. The newest season promises to be just as mind-blowing as ever, so there’s a lot to catch up with before class goes back in session. That’s where I come in.
  Check out the major plot points and character statuses on the heroes and villains of My Hero Academia to make sure you’re all up to date for the latest season!
  **MAJOR SPOILERS for My Hero Academia from here on out**
Tumblr media
    Plot Summary
  In a world where everyone is born with a different superpower known as a “Quirk,” anyone can become a superhero. But when it came to Izuku Midoriya, his dreams of becoming one were nearly dashed when he found out at a very young age that he would never develop a Quirk on his own. But his determination and willingness to help others captured the attention of All Might, the greatest hero of all time. After some intense training, Izuku was able to inherit All Might’s Quirk — One For All — and finally take that first step toward achieving his dream.
  Midoriya later enrolled in U.A. High School, the most prestigious academy for young superhero hopefuls, and joined a number of fellow students in Class 1-A, each with their own ambitions of greatness. The school’s unorthodox courses strive to bring out the best in its students as each of them learns how to develop their Quirks in unique ways. But each student maintains the grit to overcome insurmountable odds as they reach out toward their goals.
  Unfortunately, for every great hero, there’s a villain lurking in the shadows. Despite only being students, Class 1-A has already had to clash with formidable evildoers like Hero Killer Stain, Overhaul, and even the mighty All For One. Even now, Tomura Shigaraki operates within the League of Villains to carry out their sinister plots. Bad guys don’t wait for high school students to earn their diplomas, so Class 1-A and the students of U.A. will have to train their hardest in order to uphold justice and protect the world.
  Meanwhile, Izuku continues to learn how to wield One For All for himself and will soon discover what it means to inherit this power and the legacy that now rests on his shoulders.
Tumblr media
    A New Age of Heroes
  In Season 3, All Might used up the last of his strength to take down All For One, a Villain with the power to steal Quirks and wield them as his own. He was forced to retire as a hero, becoming a full-time faculty member at U.A. and leaving the position of the Number 1 Hero vacant. At the end of Season 4, the highly controversial fire-wielding Endeavor replaced All Might as the new Number 1 Hero; his previous position at Number 2 was filled by the red-winged Hawks.
Tumblr media
  The League of Villains’ Next Move
  Tomura Shigaraki and his band of bad guys are still active in their efforts to incite chaos. Their ongoing battle with Pro Heroes has created a stir, and the targeting of U.A. students has tarnished the school’s reputation as adults become concerned both for their safety and the safety of the students. The villains continue their work developing Nomus, genetically-engineered monsters outfitted with Quirks. Though they were initially mindless monsters, the latest experiments have given them overt intelligence.

  Keigo Takami aka “Hawks” - alive. Assisted Endeavor in fighting the High-End Nomu.
Tumblr media
    Antagonists
  Tomura Shigaraki - alive. Though he and the League of Villains were once tenuously aligned with Overhaul and the Shie Hassaikai, they never saw eye to eye. In the aftermath of the Raid, Tomura destroys both of Overhaul’s arms so that he may never use his Quirk again. He is last seen taking four Quirk-destroying bullets away from Overhaul.
  All For One - alive. Captured and currently being held prisoner.
  Dabi - alive. Last seen unleashing the latest of the League’s Nomu experiments on a rampage.
  Himiko Toga - alive. In Season 3, she stole a sample of Izuku’s blood for unknown purposes. In Season 4, she was loaned by Shigaraki to Overhaul. She returned to the League in the aftermath of the Raid.
  Jin Bubaigawara aka “Twice” - alive. He was on temporary loan from the League to assist the Shie Hassaikai.
Tumblr media
  The Legacy of One For All
  The nature of One For All is all too unique. While most people are born with their Quirks, One For All is passed down through its users. The Quirk itself enhances the user’s innate physical abilities astronomically, but it also connects its wielders to the predecessors of One For All. Izuku has had brief glimpses of those who held the Quirk before him. But if the final moments of Season 4 are any indication, his journey with this special Quirk has only just begun.
Tumblr media
    The hype train for My Hero Academia shows no signs of stopping as it rolls into Season 5. Despite everything that our young heroes have faced so far, there’s still no telling what new challenges await them. Be sure to catch up on all the intensity and drama here as we enter a new semester at U.A.!
  Are you all caught up on MHA? Who are you looking forward to seeing again? Drop a comment and let us know!

mobile about because i continue to be a smooth brain
Name: Ojiro Mashirao
Hero Name: Tailman | Martial Arts Hero
Quirk: Tail
Age: 15-16 | Birthday: May 28th
Gender/Pronouns: Male | He/Him
HT: 5’ 6’’
WT: 130-140ish? His tail is heavy, and adds on quite a bit to his overall body weight.
Sexuality: ???
Ojiro is humble and hard working, which are good qualities of a Hero, though not entirely the sort that will help him to stand out in the long run when compared to otherwise stronger or flashier peers. Having a physical Quirk like Tail, a heteromorphic type, Ojiro focuses mainly on training his entire body in CQC to utilize his natural strength alongside his extra limb, as well as how to best maneuver in an emergency situation – be it a fight with Villains or a search and rescue type of situation. While his speed isn’t on par with many in his class, he does have excellent reflexes from his background in MMA training and a cool head in a crisis which helps lend to on the spot tactics in the field. Ojiro also holds to a perhaps old fashioned sense of honor; if he didn’t do anything to deserve praise or reward, he couldn’t in good conscience accept it.
Not one to feel comfortable in the spotlight, Ojiro initially doesn’t mind the fact that he’s often over-shadowed by people with more impressive Quirks; fame and notoriety weren’t really motivating factors for Ojiro wanting to become a Hero, so trying to break through the crowd of hopefuls in that regard isn’t his goal. However, it can still hit him hard when he’s overlooked simply on account of not being showy or bombastic. He works hard, and he wants to be noticed for that work just like any of his classmates – he has to work harder because his Quirk is so simple and limiting on a certain level. And, notwithstanding his work towards becoming a Hero, it’s more than a little discouraging as a teenager to constantly be told about how plain, average or boring he is by others.
Ojiro has a heteromorphic Quirk – also known as a Mutant type Quirk. Growing up in a large city like Tokyo, and having a relatively common and not too out of the ordinary “mutation”, he’s certainly not had the same sort of rough experiences in life as someone like Shoji. There wasn’t any blatant discrimination in the area he lived, as far as he was aware. His family on his father’s side was almost entirely heteromorphic types, while his mother’s was more of a mix. Still, with relics from the past living on in groups like the CRC, and the fact being that people tended to stick to what they considered their own, it was impossible to go through life completely and not have to deal with any sort of ill will as a heteromorph. Luckily, he hasn’t had to deal with anything too hateful yet in his life.
Concerning his family, as mentioned before, Ojiro’s father is also a heteromorph – his Quirk being Lion. His father looks more or less like an anthropomorphic lion: teeth, claws, tail and mane – six foot tall and packed with feline muscles, ready to take down anyone who dares to face him. While strong and agile with the aid of his Quirk, Ojiro’s father came from a long line of MMA fighters; it was in his blood to fight for his honor in the cage. Of course, years of this lifestyle eventually took their toll, and he was forced to retire and pass his aspirations and skills on to his son. He’s gruff and no-nonsense, his short, Tsavo style mane aiding in making his appearance seem severe and strict. Ojiro’s mother has a quirk that wasn’t really suited for Hero work – Limber – so she went into physical therapy instead; her Quirk enables her body to be incredibly flexible, which is an incredible help in meeting the needs of different clients with varying body types. She’s soft-spoken and a bit traditional, but very gentle and calm.
Inheriting a combination of his parents’ Quirks is what gives Ojiro a prehensile tail as opposed to simply a lion’s tail. If compared to someone with more standard human biology, Ojiro’s canines are slightly sharper than average. Likewise inherited from his father, he has partially retractable claws on his hands and feet, as well as “paw pads”; neither feline feature is extremely functional, though the claws can aid in climbing somewhat and the pads on his feet help with traction when barefoot. They don’t, however, provide much use in combat.

Oh hell yeah! An wall of ice, one of the royals from class 1-A is here to save the day.
Not that it will help that much, seeing as orcas are indigenous to cold seas.

Oh, and part of the rescue team came with him to help.
Okay, I know that Ojiro’s shtick is that he’s good at fighting and his tail gives him a lot of room to maneuver during combat, but right now I think he should be on the backside helping with the rescue. He can move around with ease, he’s perfect for scouting in search of other victims, and to move them out of hard-to-reach places.
But okay, let’s see how Tailman deal with Spider-Orca, I mean Orca-man.

“And what do they say about the prince’s father?”
“Terrible things,” Asui answers, growing pale, the cloth in her hands held tight. “That he did not care about his other children, and kept the prince away from his siblings because they were weak and distractions. That he once imprisoned his own wife in the dungeons. That he often acted in anger and burned the prince’s face, giving him a scar.” She touches the side of her face, over the eye, and Izuku’s skin prickles as he faintly remembers a young, unscarred face of the little prince.
“They say that he poisoned him because the prince was going to rebel, and now he keeps him locked up in the highest tower of the castle,” Pinky whispers. “And some…”
“And some say the prince is dead,” Tailman finishes silently.
...
A magicless hero and an agonised knight come together to rescue a lost prince – that is, if the fates allow.

My Hero Academia, season 2 - Episode 35
Hey, I saw Solo. Liked it a lot. Now let’s shift gears to anime. It’s My Hero Academia, episode 35! Here we GO!
-We begin basically exactly where we left off, with Fumikage and Tsu surrounded…
-Opening!
-Episode 35: Yaoyorozu: Rising
-So as the whole group comes in, Fumikage pulls out his Dark Shadow…And snatches up Tsu?! GET IN POSITION! He throws her up into the balconies of this amphitheater, where she catches him in turn with her tongue, ripping them both up out of the battlefield! They’re off in a flash, having cooked together a solid plan based on their abilities…And as Recovery Girl returns, Deku’s left trying to figure out what specific gap the teachers are trying to make these two work on.
-Especially given Ectoplasm is their opponent. What gap could his Quirk be exposing…? It’s Fumikage’s. Watch close, children.
-While at the escape gate, one Ectoplasm awaits. And we get the lowdown on his ability to expel his namesake ectoplasm, which turns into clones. He can hold about 30 together, but get him on a roll and he can knock out a few more!
-In the field, the clones keep coming, fading and reforming to avoid having to actually chase the children down by their rules…Fumikage’s real flaw is how poor he is at dealing with a proper knockdown, straight-up fight. If someone has the strength, speed or sheer trickery to get past Dark Shadow…But that’s why Tsu is there. She’s not here to learn how to cover gaps in herself, because the kid’s flexible and very well balanced. Her chief limitation is one of simple inexperience; she hasn’t had a lot of times where she’s had to cover someone else’s weaknesses and put their strengths forward.
-And that’s not just physical, but emotional…Keeping her comrade calm, and firmly believing they can win, is at least as important as actually bringing the extra muscle to make it true. And that’s when they get to the real Ectoplasm…Who summons a massive clone, and this becomes full on Attack On Ectoplasm! It grabs them both up in its thick mass, ensnaring the two in the ectoplasm and holding them firm…
-Fumikage sends forth Dark Shadow, but Ectoplasm holds him back…While as Fumikage starts to panic, Tsu starts to put together a plan…Managing to vomit something back up that she slips to Dark Shadow! But what was it…?
-…The cuffs! She swallowed them at the start of the match, and by putting the cuff on Ectoplasm’s leg, it’s a victory! One by the skin of their teeth, but it’s a victory.
-While Momo watches…And all her doubts come bubbling up again.
-Let’s see a bit of Tenya and Tailman against…Power Loader? Shit, I should’ve called this guy Tonka Tough. But anyways, they’re in a rough environment with Power Loader hidden underground…So there’s only one solution!
-GATTAI-DA!
-I would also accept MECHA SHIVA.
-Either way, Tailman piggybacks onto Tenya’s back, and with a Reciproburst, Tenya just starts sprinting past even faster than Power Loader can open up sinkholes! And it works…Almost to the gates, where he opens up the entire field ahead of them! Fine, change of plans! Latch onto his leg and get ready!
-RECIPRO EXTEND! Tenya whips himself around, and with Tailman holding on tight , he swings him clear through the air! He manages to spring off of Power Loader, and pass through the gate before he can be stopped! And that’s a green light. Not only that, but Tenya pulled off the pass without either of the two getting injured, putting him in a hypothetical good spot to buy time while his comrade goes to get more help. …I mean, except for the part where he landed in a pitfall and is buried up to his neck.
-Okay, to Shoto and Momo, who are clearly the focus ones of the episode! And as they start their run through a suburb-style test field, Shoto’s initial plan is simple. Keep making little widgets. As soon as you can’t, that means Eraser Head has found them.
-And speaking of, we get a quirk reminder of how he can shut down Quirks. And Shoto’s full plan? In short, move for the gate stealthily, get as close as they can. When they’re inevitably spotted, he’ll go full on the attack while she’ll fucking run to get to safety. It’s not a bad plan, especially considering that Shoto can put a lot more instantaneous use of his Quirk into play if he can just get a little access to it. The only problem is, Momo is running on tons of doubt right now, and it’s screwing with her head…
-Also, the simplest, quickest thing she can conjure up…Are matryoshka dolls. I can only imagine those are what she practiced making as a kid because they’re just kind of spilling out of her comically. Anyways, yeah, all of Momo’s doubts start spilling out like crazy. She’s been running and following this whole time, ever since she got into the school, unable to find her own momentum…
-Aaand the dolls have stopped spilling out. Shoto can’t ice over his hand, either. THEY’VE BEEN HAD! And their first mistake is not immediately acting! Eraser Head ensnares Shoto in two seconds, tying him up and hanging him from a telephone wire…And then, he tosses down a whole bunch of caltrops, just to make Shoto’s drop that much more difficult. And then, some eye drops to keep his eyes going, before he’s off to catch Momo. Your first mistake, Shoto, was trying to take everything on yourself…And your second, was just trying to work the plan without fully talking it over with Momo.
-Who’s having a freakout as she flees, and Eraser Head is on her in a flash! He’s been watching the kid. He can tell the sports festival rattled her. She’s not going to be at her best…Hell, the simple fact that Momo is running proves that. Running. On foot. Even if an actual bike was too large to form quickly, some roller-skates could have been done super fast, and she could have ripped a skateboard from her chest without even having to slow down.
-It’s basically the same loop that Deku gets caught in. The incredibly crucial mistake of doubt above all else…And then Eraser Head yanks her in…But without locking her down! She manages to break loose, but then turns right back around to go and try to rescue Shoto, instead of aiming for escape or combat…She’s decided her only path to success is by following another. On another day, Eraser Head would like to sit the poor kid down, talk to her, help her see that she’s playing into her own fears and just needs to break the pattern, build some instincts…
-But today is not that day. Today, his goal is simple. Win.
-Back with Shoto as he dangles, and tries to figure out what happened and how he could have fix it…When Momo gets back, and she’s got Eraser Head coming on her fast! …Shit, shit, shit, fine! Figure out a plan, Momo! You’re a thinker, a planner! Get out of your own spiral and THINK! You remember their first week? You remember the votes for class rep? You had two votes…One of them was HIS, because he could see clear as day you had the smarts and the skills to do it well!
-And Momo manages to pull herself together…As she grabs those matryoshka dolls. CLOSE YOUR EYES! She flings them up…They pop open…
-Oh.
-Oh fuck.
-They weren’t just Russian dolls.
-They were Russian dolls with flash bangs inside. Which blast right into Eraser Head’s face. It gives her enough time to get Shoto down, and to pull together her plan, something she’d been thinking about…Even though she was doubting it…Since the beginning.
-Eraser Head manages to recover. So Momo noticed. His eyes saw some serious damage in the villain attack at USJ, and he can’t hold his Quirk active as long, or use it as quickly after previous shots, as he could before…He’s got to rely more heavily on his scarf, as Momo pulls Shoto out of there! Her first plan step is they need to get moving, and out of his field of vision! Just hold whatever reflex you use to make ice, and keep trying to clench it…
-And of course, Eraser Head can’t hold his eyes open forever. He has to blink, especially coming after them with wind hitting his eyes. So even when he swings out that scarf’s end, there comes a single instant where he has to blink! and in it, Shoto just POURS IT ON at full force, forming a huge wall to block Eraser Head off!
-And, it, works! So what’s Momo’s next…Step…? She’s pouring a similar reactive scarf out of her chest. She doesn’t know the exact details of Eraser Head’s, but she knows the gist well enough to make a mimicry. One with a particular material woven into it…She even manages to put together a rough and tumble catapult. They’ve got one shot if they want to pull this off. They’ve got to land it…
-As Eraser Head watches, he spots two robed figures fleeing past the wall…They’re hiding themselves in cloth. And he snaps out his scarf as he leaps after them, ensnaring them…Only to realize he’s caught a pair of dummies being held up! And the robes were hiding the mini catapult, which Momo fires, flinging the scarf mimicry up! Momo didn’t just make hers reactive…She put in a heat-responsive lining! FLAMES, NOW!
-Shoto kicks them on, catching the end of their scarf…As the details of Momo’s plan comes out. Nitinol alloy, a shape-memory material! The heat kicks into it hard, and it locks tightly around Eraser Head! And when it’s all done, they’ve got him tied up and cuffed, as Momo swore she saw Eraser Head let her catapult trick work despite him spotting her initial flub on launch…
-So he lies through his damn teeth and insists it was because he had no idea what her plan with Shoto was. He leapt back all the same. You covered your bases well enough that a small mistake like that didn’t hurt your plan at all, kid. You’re a strategist through and through. And Momo is stirred to impassioned tears, as the victory sounds off!
-Credits!
-Aftercredits! A brief shot of Ochaco and laser belly up against Thirteen, which is…Really, not, going, well. Like, at all. Thirteen is just using their Black Hole to keep sucking them in without the slightest trouble…When laser belly reveals that his costume has conduits to conduct his laser down through various exit points, including ones on his legs! He blasts lasers…Whiiich Thirteen just sucks right up. So Ochaco’s left trying to figure out a plan…And she thinks of what Deku would do…And then laser belly sees right through it, asks him if she thinks about Deku so much because she’s into the green haired kid, and Ochaco cracks like an egg.
Yayyvyy, Momo’s put herself back together! We’ll just have to see how things go for some of the others next time, in episode THIRTY SIX of My Hero Academia. Wait for it!

A ShinOji domestic fic or something (Part 1)
I didn’t see any ShinOji fics around until recently (BLESS THE TWO PEOPLE ON AO3, BLESS YOU STRANGERS-TO-FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS PERSON AND SCREW YOU but still bless you PERSON WHO DID THAT AFTER BREAKUP FIC) so I’m in the midst of writing like.... 3 of my own... I CAN’T HELP IT I HAVE MANY IDEAS
Enjoy my rusty writing! And please let me know what you think
Ojiro could still taste the sour metallic sludge in the back of his throat. His hero costume was soaked and weighed down by the sticky grey gunk that he and two other heroes had to beat out of a sludge villain. Being the first on the scene and throwing himself in front of some civilians, he had gotten caught for a good few minutes in the villains sticky body mass. It didn’t help that the villain had tried to shove a slimy appendage down his throat either. If the hero with the water quirk hadn’t arrived when she did, he’d probably be pumping his stomach to get the sludge out right about now.
“You alright Tailman? You really got hit, jumping to defend those school kids.”
“Yeah- I’m fine. Don’t worry-” The blond managed to say between sticky coughs to the rather concerned officer who had come to collect the now puddled villain.
“You should get checked out Tailman, sir-” the water heroin, Geyser- if Ojiro remembers her name correctly- added worriedly. He was pretty sure she was a new hero; he vaguely remembers seeing her name in the papers when she made her debut about a week ago.
“Thanks Geyser- I’ll do that. And thank you for the assist-” He was slightly embarrassed that he had been rescued by a newbie, but he had only been a pro for just over a year so he didn’t really have much of a reputation to upkeep at this point. But at least they managed to beat the villain out of commission in the end.
After they were done with villain clean-up, he went to his office’s in-house clinic for a quick check-up. Being given an “all clear” by the medic, Ojiro changed into his civilian clothes, packed up his gear and headed home. This gunk was most definitely going to break the washing machine, he’d be surprised if he could even get it off the fluff on the collar of his costume.
He took out his phone from his pocket to check his texts. A little smile crossed his face as he read the new message he had.
Don’t make dinner tonight. I’ll be home at 6. Let’s go out.
Without the need to make dinner, Ojiro could now focus on cleaning the sad mess of a costume he had in his backpack. He cleared his throat and grimaced as the sour taste reappeared on his taste buds once again. As much as he would like to rinse his mouth with bleach, extra strong mouthwash would have to do.
It was a short bus ride home to his decently sized apartment in a rather old but well maintained complex. He grabbed the mail on they way up to the third floor unit, sorting through it as he climbed the stairs. He got out his keys as he reached the third floor, their jingle immediately triggered an incessant meowing from behind the apartment door. The meowing grew louder as he unlocked and opened to door until a little blue grey cat was able to slip out and rub affectionately against his leg.
“Yuu-chan.” The tailed man greeted the little cat with a rub on her head as he took his shoes off and placed them neatly on the shoe rack. The first order of business was to dump his hero costume out of his bag and let it soak in a basin of super strength detergent. Ojiro stripped and went to take a much needed shower in the meantime. He smelled bad, worse than sewer bad. And the taste in his mouth was bad, he didn’t even want to think of what he’d swallowed. He ended up wrenching and gagging in the shower, managing to cough out a mildly concerning amount of grey sludge. The blond was happy to see it being washed down the drain to the sewers from where is most likely came. After scrubbing himself well enough that he was sure he’d scrubbed off a layer of skin in the process, the tailed man stepped out of the shower to gargle about half a bottle of extra strength mouthwash and brushed his teeth at least twice. He threw on a t-shirt and some shorts.
Feeling a lot cleaner, Ojiro went to make himself a nice hot cup of miso soup. That usually helped him relax and ease up after a days work. He sat cross-legged on the couch with his drink, the small cat, Yuuei, purred as she curled up next to his tail. He took a sip as he admired the framed photograph on the old coffee table. It was a lovely photo of his boyfriend and himself, both grinning and holding up the little blue grey kitten that they would later name “Yuuei”, after their alma mater. Ojiro just sat there in the much appreciated silence, sipping the miso soup until his cup was empty.
Ojiro did not realize that he had dozed off until he was woken up by Yuu’s meowing.
“Hello Yuu-” came a familiar voice as the little cats meowing ceased.
Ojiro stretched and pushed himself up with his tail as soft footsteps echoed in the doorway. He gracefully leapt over the couch and made his way to the door, his muscular tail draped over his shoulder.
“Welcome home-” he greeted cheerfully. At the doorway sat a young man with messy, dull greyish blue-purple hair. His shoes were already off but he was still seated to play with the little cat. He turned at the sound of Ojiro’s voice, the corners of his mouth turning up into a small smile. He stood up and gave the shorter male a peck on the lips.
“Glad to be home, Rao.”

When Ojiro Finds Out You’ve Been Kidnapped
Tumblr media
Returning to my favourite comfort character in times of inner turmoil--
Have some hero tailman to soothe your soul ❤
------
Ojiro is running a class at the dojo when he finds out you’ve been kidnapped.
One of the monks asks him to step out, explaining the police have been in touch.
He feels the bottom drop out of his world.
He stays frozen.
He can’t breathe.
Why have they taken you? For what purpose?
He ends the class, apologising for cutting it short while feeling completely numb inside.
He heads straight to the police station to find out what they know.
 Annoyingly, it’s very little.
He pulls out his phone, his mind completely jarring. He manages to punch in the number of someone he knows can help.
“Shoji? Hi. Sorry, I know it’s been a while. Yes, no, what they’re saying on the news is true. Please, I need your help.”
Soon enough, the whole squad is together. Koda and Shoji are scoping far and wide looking for you, while Ojiro, Hagakure and Sato make a plan.
It doesn’t take long to find where you’re being held when the whole team is invested in your safety. You’re a part of Ojiro so it’s only natural that they need you home safely as much as he does.
Their infiltration is quick and seamless.
Though it’s impossible to get to you without violence, Ojiro doesn’t let his feelings cloud his judgement. No matter how much he wants them to pay for taking you, he restrains himself, only doing enough damage to subdue them.
He has something more important to focus on than revenge.
When he finds you, the others wipe out the villains so he can get to you.
He breaks you out of your restraints then drags you against his chest, unable to speak when his jaw is clenched so tightly in fear and relief.
He isn’t willing to let himself break down in front of you. You’re probably scared, upset, you might be hurt, you might be worse. He needs to be the anchor to ground you – to show you that everything is okay now.
Once he’s got you outside with the ambulance, he tries to help the others drag the villains out. Luckily, his friends tell him they’ve got it under control. He doesn’t have to force himself when he so clearly wants to focus solely on you.
That night, Ojiro has you stay in the lodgings at his temple, with him. It’s full of combat-ready monks, so it’s absolutely the safest place you could be, especially when you’re wrapped up cosily in his tail and arms.
And if you want to, you’re welcome to move in permanently.

My Hero Academia, season 2 - Episode 33
So my movie plans fell through. Instead let’s watch anime. It’s My Hero Academia, episode 33! Here we GO!
-It’s the end of Deku’s internship, as he thanks Gran Torino for everything…And Gran reminds him that even if he did better against Stain than he might have before coming here, he still got damn lucky. And he still caught another fracture in his right arm by going beyond the 5% his body can safely handle. …Right.
-But also before he goes, he has one question…The question of why Gran doesn’t have a bigger reputation, despite all of his…Everything. His skill, his training, his having taught All Might and being friends with the man’s predecessor, all of it…
-The answer’s simple. Gran Torino never wanted to be a working hero. He just needed the freedom to use his Quirk entirely freely, and that means a heroism license. …Ask All Might about the rest. Now get out of here, kid, you have a train to catch.
-Also there’s a really great little moment where Deku really owns that name, that title, as something he can wear with true pride. Real talk, I wish I’d known that moment was coming so I could have shifted my name patterns then instead of at the start of the season…Oh well. The important thing is this kid’s coming into his own.
-Opening!
-Episode 33: Listen Up!! A Tale From The Past
-So everyone’s gotten back to the campus…And Katsuki is getting laughed at for the hairdo Best Jeanist enforced on his head. Which lasts right up until his raw fury pops it back into an explosion shape.
-And Mina’s hearing all about Kyoka and Tsu’s crazy adventures and she’s super jealous. And Ochaco, who has awoken to her TRUE POWERRRRR. The human trash has learned to truly be terrified of women.
-Also it seems folks heard a little more about the Stain situation. They still think Endeavor came in and saved the day, but they were allowed to know their classmates were in the thick, unlike the public who had no idea. Also, even Kaminari saw the viral video.
-And Tenya…Tenya can understand all too well how Stain’s sheer tenacity and force of will could sweep people up. But he is ever-more firm in his beliefs, that he will not cross the lines he did, ever again. He has to hold firm on the line of heroism again, to be a symbol, to do everything he can to make sure nobody ends up where he did…Except, you know, presented comedically, because it’s Tenya.
-Cut to another round of hero training outside of the core campus. All Might has gathered up the kids for a rescue race at one of their facilities! Welcome to Field Gamma, a labyrinthian mock factory district! Go to any city in the country, nay, in the world with a support-gear industry and you’ll run into districts that look just like this! You’ll be going through in five-man groups to reach him from wherever he sends out his distress signal…And of course, keeping damage to an absolute minimum is crucial. Katsuki. Looking at you there. Don’t blow shit up. Katsuki. King Explosion Murder. Don’t do any of those things. Katsuki. Katsukiiiii.
-First group! Which of course includes Deku, as well as Tenya, Tailman, Mina, and Cellophane. Can you tell which ones I actually care about and which I don’t? But that’s just about everyone with straightforward mobility-related Quirks…There’s a thousand possibilities, as all three get on the move! Cellophane’s in the air almost immediately…Only to be leapfrogged by Deku, who’s got Full Cowling on and is moving like a man possessed! They’ve never seen him go like that before…
-But they’ve seen those kind of movements before from someone else. And Katsuki recognizes his own parkour styles being cribbed by Deku. Sure, Deku can’t do mid-air kabooms, but his leaps, the way he’s putting his hands forward and pushing off as much with them as his feet…Somehow, Deku is catching up to him again…!
-Into Deku’s head, where he has to focus, to concentrate…To keep himself at 5%. It’s an incredibly difficult task in the thick of things, but that’s all the more important to mas—
-Aaaand Deku slips and hits a truly terrible impact. When it’s all done, Cellophane ends up being the victor…Though All Might makes a point of quietly asking Deku to come see him when they’re done here. You, did, amazing. And they need to talk.
-So that class is over, everyone’s changing back into their school uniforms and contemplating things…And that’s when the human trash reveals that he found a peep hole into the girls’ locker room. Which promptly gets Kyoka’s earphone jack stabbed through it and into his eye. Do it again, get the other one.
-To No Might’s office, where he’s…REALLY serious. Terrifyingly so, even. …Do you remember what he said, back when he gave you One For All? EAT IT. No no not that. The part of how all you need is some of his DNA, once he willed the transfer…
-It cannot be stolen, so there’s no worry about Stain having it. But it can be forced to be transferred. And that is connected to One For All’s origins…
-Connected to its birthplace, its brother Quirk, All For One. The first generation of superpowers. The chaotic times, that gap between the glowing baby and the first real superheroes that nobody likes to talk about. The limits of humanity began to crumble away. Society nearly collapsed into a worldwide civil war. (Sidenote, this handily explains why Japan in this world looks basically like modern Japan, and not like some cosmic space-age thing. They not only lost tons of time, they were no doubt actively sent back in technological development. It probably took an entire generation just to put shit back together.)
-In that chaos, there came a man who could steal Quirks. A calculating, cunning individual, who managed to briefly rule Japan with an iron fist…A story constantly rumored online, but never held in any textbook. Know this, Deku. It is not through lack of truth that it is kept from your learnings. It is because the reality was scrubbed out of history, on purpose.
-Which brings them to All For One, and its connection to One For All. The man who held All For One could not just steal Quirks, but give them away. He would empower lieutenants and loyal soldiers, give those born without power a taste of it in trade for loyalty. Many people fell apart, their bodies unable to hold onto what they were given, their minds collapsing under the strain…Like the Nomus.
-And some Quirks were twisted around by their changing hands. One For All was one such Quirk. This man had a younger brother, a Quirkless young man who had a strong sense of justice…And he tried to turn his own brother into a bank, forcing a Quirk that could store power onto him. To make him into a walking storage facility for Quirks. But it turned out that he was not as Quirkless as he thought. He had a weaker form of All For One. It could not steal, but it could transfer itself.
-On its own, with nothing else bolted onto it? It would be useless. He would have lived his entire life not even knowing. But with the power-storing Quirk interweaving with his own…The two became as one. And that one, became not just for oneself…but for all. One For All was birthed. Growing stronger with every soul it connected to, its strength growing with each generation…
-But that brings them to the issue of now. All For One was generations ago. And yet, the man who holds it, still lives. Stole someone’s long-life Quirk. Probably multiple someones, stacked them up. His younger brother was forced to pass his own strength on, working with the one tool he had…When All Might finally got it, he finally did the job that One For All was made to do, finally set the world just!
-But somehow, All For One survived. Somehow, he still exists, and is the one pulling the strings of the League of Villains. You must understand what you have to step into, Deku. No Might didn’t want it to be this way. He wanted that figure to be finally buried, to let his own successor merely be the symbol, not the sword. All For One is weakened, that much is certain. He is acting through cat’s-paws and distant orders and lab-work, not taking to the field as he once would have. But he may still recover enough to fight once again, and if he does, the—
-Deku will do everything he can to win. He’ll make himself ready when that day comes! He’ll have your back, All Might! They can do it together!
-And that’s when No Might has to let out the worst, most terrible admittance. But…He cannot. All he can do is thank Deku, can send him off…Unable to admit to the boy who looks up to him, whose entire worldview was so shaped by him, that…That’s not how it works. By the time Deku must face All For One…He will have to do it alone. There will be no All Might to stand by his side…
-Credits!
-Aftercredits! Summer vacation is coming up…And there’s going to be a woodland training camp to keep them working, and also get in some fun…But nobody who passes the final exam will get to go. They’ll be in the hell of summer school! Which is exactly when Deku realizes All Might’s big speech didn’t mention anything about himself.
-Cut to a skyscraper far away, where a man learns of the imprisonment of Stain…And sees just how useful this could be. Tomura could so easily unify all of the raging souls that will be birthed from this, could bring the League of Villains together…As his doctor continues to put him back together, piece by piece, slowly but surely trying to make All For One rise again. Yet even in his current state, almost entirely covered in scar tissue, he is already planning both his return, and his making Tomura into his successor…
Shiiiiiiit. Just…Shiiiiiiiit. That got real.
Also I’m about 80% sure that Deku took a nut-drop onto that pipe when he slipped in the rescue race. Which gives me great sympathy for the poor lad.
But we’ve got all this Real shit to deal with now. Also, summer camp. And the final exams. This is all gonna be interesting next time, in episode THIRTY FOUR of My Hero Academia! Wait for it!

My Hero Academia, season 2 - Episode 26
Sony’s conference was, a, fucking, mess.
Anyways anime finally. It’s My Hero Academia, episode 26! Here we GO!
-It’s raining. It’s the day everyone’s going back to school…When Deku is on the train, flipping through shit on his phone and suddenly realizes he’s surrounded by fans, who recognize him, and want to wish him good luck since he fought so hard and stuff. Deku doesn’t know how the fuck to handle this.
-Opening! Just the normal opening. I thought there was a third one coming, or is that for the actual season jump?
-So Deku’s finally off the train and making his way to school, his body exhausted…And then he gets lapped hard by Tenya. Who’s back, and when Deku tries to talk, he immediately shuts it down. No need to worry about his brother. Everything’s fine.
-Episode 26: Time to Pick Some Names
-Class time. Everyone’s feeling excited about their showing at the first-year festival. And cue Shota, who’s finally in one piece again. Also, time for the big thing the episode will be focusing on…Codenames. Hero names. Every hero needs it! Especially with interest on you from established heroes just as first-years…
-Speaking of, here’s how the numbers look on that. Almost all eyes are on Shoto and Katsuki, with 3-4000 each. Then it drops down into the hundreds and the tens and zero. Deku didn’t get any at all despite his big showing.
-But everyone will be doing an internship. Which means needing at least a temporary name. And cue Midnight making a big show as she steps in to act as judge, since Shota is bad at it. He literally just went with what a young Present Mic suggested to him when this day came for him, because he gives absolutely zero fucks.
-So everyone gets mini whiteboards to present their names and have everyone try things on for size. First is laser boy…Whose intended code name is, and I quote: “Shining Hero: I Can Not Stop Twinkling”. Sit your ass the fuck down.
-Okay, no, Midnight does critiques. Declaration-based names aren’t unheard of, but it needs to roll off the tongue way better…So compress, simplify, and take it down to Can’t Stop Twinkling.
-Next is Mina, with Alien Queen! Like a xenomorph. It’s a little too scary. But now everyone feels pressured. Tsk is next, and she’s had one since she was a kid…The Rainy Season Hero, Froppy! Midnight loves it. It’s cute, it’s friendly, it’s perfect for an approachable street-level hero type! Everyone loves it.
-We’ve got others, like Kirishima being the Sturdy Hero, Red Riot. Like the classic Crimson Riot, huh? Nothing wrong with an homage to a vintage hero. It means pressure to live up to that name, but if you can hold to it…! Hell yes, he can!
-Deku remembers his childhood name ideas…They all followed a certain theme. Young Deku is a treasure it needs to be stated. I love his little All Might jammies. So obviously he’s not going to do a name like that now, now that he’s really sitting and contemplating possibilities…
-Earbud girl is up, as the Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack. Yep that’s solid you can keep it. Or the Tentacle Hero: Tentacole. Freaky but good. The Taping Hero, Cellophane! Crisp, clean, to the point, totally works. The Martial Arts Hero: Tailman. Makes sense. The Sweet Hero, Sugarman! Sure deal. Mina’s back as Pinky! Yeah that works.
-The Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt! Yeah, it’s got a nice vibe. The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl! Well that sure sums it up. Keep it going, keep it going, kids! Momo’s the Everything Hero: Creati, a name she hopes to match up to…And Shoto…
-Shoto wants to be Shoto.
-Shoto. My man. You’re not going to pick a flashy name? Nope. …Well, okay…
-Or the Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi. The trash is Grape Juice. The boulder-headed guy is Anima. Katsuki…Is King Explosion Murder. Noooooooo. Just, nooooo.
-And Ochaco…Goes for simple but crisp. Uravity. Midnight loves it! And when it’s all done…There’s only three! Katsuki needs to pick something that’s, not, that. Tenya and Deku are still struggling! Tenya…Who’s trying to focus, but remembers seeing his brother.
-Who, after further recovery, had to confirm something. He had no feeling in his legs. The story of Ingenium was going to end then and there…And so he asked his little brother to do something for him…
-Tenya…Tenya tenses up, trying to write that name. But…He doesn’t feel he can. He doesn’t feel worthy of it. There will come a day, brother. But as it stands…All he can manage to write, is his own name.
-So after he’s done, Midnight calls upon Deku…Who’s finally decided. There’s only one thing it can be…Even as everyone tenses, uncertain…Oh. There’s only one thing it could be. Something with weight. With history. Something that he’s gone by for a long time. That he once ran away from…But one soul changed the game. So there it is… Deku.
-In the staff room, a new request comes in, and No Might sees Tonka Tough has it up…For Deku! Who would want young De—OH SHIT
-Back with Class 1-A. Midnight is about ready to strangle Katsuki.
-Eventually, the names are all decided, and internships are gonna happen. If you got requests in, you’ll receive them as options. If you didn’t, well, here’s a fat stack of hero agencies. They all have their own specialties, from crime fighting to disaster rescue, and in all kinds of environments. You have until Friday to make a choice.
-And Shoto sees…His father’s agency on his list. His own father requested him…
-Soon everyone’s thinking and contemplating…And Deku’s going all super deep with his notes. While Ochaco has a plan! She wants to work in Gunhead’s agency! Not a rescue hero type…? Nope! She wants to do that eventually, but right now she needs to learn how to punch dudes in their faces real good! Shit that makes a lot of sense…
-Also that’s when everyone realizes Deku’s been hovering over his chair for the entire class to train his legs. I also can’t help but imagine he’s putting some power into them to learn to hold it in…
-Anyways, end of the day, Ochaco and Deku are gonna bounce, Tenya’s not here, ALL MIGHT AT THE DOOR IN A WEIRD POSE and drags Deku away. Deku got an offer from Gran Torino…He was once All Might’s teacher in his time at UA. He was a dear friend of All Might’s own predecessor…And All Might is fucking terrified of a bad impression.
-In the office, Shota sees he’s got a few entries already in…And one of them is Tenya’s. A mid-level agency, the kind that usually takes kids from smaller schools…Why would he…Unless…Aaand he’s already on the move, having left school as soon as he turned in his forms.
-Deku would, during his recovery, learn of Ingenue’s fate on the news. An incident that took place in…Hosu City. The same place that mid-level agency Tenya picked is based in. …Fuck. He’s trying to get vengeance. Stain is named as the culprit, with 17 kills and 21 forced-retirements to his name…Tenya is going out there to try and take down his brother’s attempted killer. Deku’s put it all together…And yet he can’t do a damn thing to stop it…
-Until it’s the internship day. Everyone’s gonna be loaded up into trains and taxis to go to their various assignments…When Deku makes a point to stop Tenya, to make one last attempt to reach out…Looking back on it, Deku would regret not pushing harder, not just spilling it all out, not doing more to stop Tenya from what would end up happening…
-Credits!
-Aftercredits! Deku’s on the train to go meet Gran Torino…He’s scared shitless of it, of this vintage hero he’s never heard of…When he gets to the old wreckage of an abandoned hotel. And finds…A scene of blood and eat—He faked it to mess with Deku. Also he’s built like a Megaman now.
Well that started silly and ended heavy and then gave us a splash of weird silly at the end. This, is gonna, be…I don’t even know. I guess we’ll find out next time, in episode TWENTY SEVEN of My Hero Academia! Wait for it!
