all the lottie center back thirst trapping has me headcanoning stuff with tai. she's the one that lottie makes the most contact with when the soccer player in her shows out: touching tai's shoulder when she disses nat, shoving her away from shauna, away from travis, away from the RIFLE. like tai is a forward (in my reading) so it makes sense they would have (mostly friendly??) tension and perhaps more physical history than the rest of the team before the crash. my headcanon is that they respect each other's skills fiercely but they DEFINITELY got into scuffles during scrimmages. gives new context to tai slapping lottie's ass during the locker dance. a bit of ownership, a hint of teasing. that is HER center back and the only one who is allowed (and encouraged) to lay her out on her ASS, ya feel?? omg i bet they were lezzing OUT on the field & always snappy and joking on each other.

during a yellowjackets scrimmage

shauna had whaled the ball down the field and tai lunged forward to halt it with her center chest, dropping her body backward to let it fall to her feet. she pivoted, skillfully turning the ball with her outer foot to bear down on the opposing goal. as the other team's midfield barreled back to intercept her, tai had the briefest moment to lock eyes with lottie, the only hurdle left between her and her team's fucking win.

panting, she grinned past the sweat in her eyes. "you ready for this, matthews?"

the other girl's knees were bent, eyes flicking between tai and the players charging toward them. "bring it," lottie laughed.

and then they were fucking on. tai cleared the distance between them instantly, and their cleats and shin guards gnashed as they stabbed and lunged for purchase, frustrated grunts mingling as they careened into one another. tai threw out a strategic hip that knocked lottie backward, and for a moment, she thought she had shaken the center back off. the ball was hers, an open field stretched before her, and now for the goalie--

"fuck!" tai wheezed as something blunt came to the back of her knee and then she was tumbling down savagely, nearly eating the goddamn grass. there was a thud at her side as lottie collapsed almost on top of her.

"okay, fuck! jesus christ, foul!" ben's voice rang out over the fervor as the coach trotted toward them. "lottie, you know you can't clip someone like that!"

bewildered and pissed, the front of her jersey covered in fresh grass stains, tai shoved herself upward on her forearms to glare at her teammate. to tai's side, lottie was lying on her back on the turf, chest rising and falling harshly from the exertion of her attack. tai's eyes were absolute saucers. lottie had hacked the shit out of her from behind.

"you fucking bitch!" the forward gasped before an almost hysterical cackle spilled from her. she couldn't help but laugh at the center back's audacity.

head resting on the ground, lottie glanced at her and smirked past her shuddering chest. she ignored ben entirely as he approached, berating about how they couldn't risk that shit at nationals. "you loved it," lottie muttered to tai, stretching in the grass and closing her eyes.

My opinions on Lottie ships because she's shipped with basically everyone (my qualifications are that I'm a lesbian)

Btw I have no clue if some of these are the real ship names but I just chose what feels right to me

(🦝) Lottienat:

- I LOVE LOTTIENAT. First season I didn't see it much, I had heard a bunch about them but I didn't personally ship it until season two, I think they have soo much chemistry and some pretty gay interactions (THE BATH SCENE). Such a cool ship though, and I love them in the adult storyline as well. Nat's whole "is that what we are?" line is very interesting, because it could be interpreted as they were more or less than that and I think they're so confusing and so interesting and I need more of them in S3 so bad.

(🐑) Lottielee:

- I adore Lottielee with my whole heart, I can never choose between Lottielee and Lottienat. Lottielee is sooo special to me and was my first ever yjs ship. I think their whole dynamic could've been so interesting to explore, and Laura Lee haunting Lottie all the way to her adult years is so interesting. Laura Lee was the one making Lottie believe she wasn't crazy and I think that's so beautiful. Rich girl and Christian girl just make sense I swearrr. I have soo much I could say about them so lmk if you want my in depth thoughts on that.

(🐻) Shautie:

- I don't have many thoughts about this ship besides how much I love the ship name. I think they could have an interesting dynamic, Shauna being more of a leader in a general way and Lottie being a leader in the wilderness/cult way. Ugh and the whole Lottie taking a beating from Shauna so she could let out her pain was so emotional. I think I could definitely explore them more. I'd definitely have to read more about them to actually have a big opinion, but two sad brown eyed girls always make for a good looking duo.

(🐰) Jackielot:

- Honestly, I donttt ship this one very much. I think I could probably hear someone out if they talked a little more about it but I can't really think of any scenes that could lead to that, and I don't believe that their dynamic would be too interesting or unique, and there's definitely better ones, but I don't hate it! I still think there could be potential, and if they had maybe explored it a little more I'm sure I could see it better.

(🐺) Tailot:

- I definitely see these two as more best friends but I wouldn't completely put this ship off the table. Taivan will always be my favorite Tai ship of course but I still think these two could have pretty cute potential. I think their dynamic is a realllyy good one though, the non-believer and the prophet cult girl hellooo omg. I might just have a bad memory (I usually only focus on the ships I personally ship) but I don't remember very many scenes between them besides for the ones where Lottie is defending Shauna against her. Still though, I think they're cool asf.

今回はUSラッパーであるLL COOL Jが90代にしていたであろうスタイルをイメージし、当時のNy Hiphop界隈で人気のあったブランドをLampaセレクトのブランドで置き換えスタイリング。

当時人気のあったCarharttのニットキャップはMout recon tailorのコンバットウールニットキャップ、Ralph laurenのレザージャケットはMeanswhileのジャケット、Champion のパーカーはA vontadeのパーカー、GirbaudのパンツはMout recon taiilorのフリースパンツ、Nike AF1のスニーカーはRepriduction of foundのスニーカーに置き換えてスタイリングしてみました。当時のNy Street styleへの自分なりのアンサースタイリング。洋服のつくりやデザインセンスにより品と骨太の芯がある雰囲気に仕上がってると思います。参考になれば。。。

hiya! i know that you're a lottienat enthusiast, but i was wondering if you had any headcanons n' thoughts about tailot? i absolutely love their potential. i think it was really neat in season 1 when tai was trying to be gentle with lottie (when they first discovered the cabin) and switched to a tougher approach when it wasn't working... i think she knows how lottie's brains works. perhaps!

hey! honestly, i'm kind of obsessed with tailot. i am not quite sure if i ship them romantically just because i am so invested in lottienat and taivan but i see the romantic possibility of them, even though they don't get a lot of time together on screen. (especially not past season 1, which is a fucking bummer.)

i might grind some gears here in saying that i actually think tai would have been a better partner to lottie's descent into the wilderness this season than either akilah or shauna. not that what we got wasn't good, but let's take akilah for example. lottie is pushing her toward cave huffing, having visions, all that jazz. when i sub in tai for this, it becomes more of a mutually manipulative affair that rides the line on "who" is at fault in a more satisfying way imo--like it is so fucking tasty. because we know that lottie's prayer circles somehow gave tai the tools to beat other tai into remission. at the same time, we also know that s3 tai (as little screentime as she gets) is interested in better understanding other tai and how she operates.

so imagine lottie and tai working together to try and "control" other tai, pushing each other's boundaries as they take on more and more dangerous risks to bring her out. on the one hand, lottie sees this as a pathway to the wilderness; on the other, tai is exploiting lottie's connection & maybe she starts using other tai to weather horrors she wouldn't want to stomach on her own (like trying to sub her in for the ben execution). maybe all of this could focus around taissa's desire to understand what the fuck is going on with the no eye man and her connection to the symbol (both themes that kinda disappeared this season??? an ice cream commerical?? -takes a smoke-) and we could get lottie acquainted with these concepts and see how they factor into her own understanding of the wilderness too.

also, because other tai is such a source of tension in taivan's dynamic, this could bring up some really fucky feelings, where lottie becomes an intrusion on the relationship & its stability that would better foreshadow taissa's choice to stay behind than i think was already done? like, somehow tai--rational fucking tai!!--is bought into staying behind and participating in the hunt by the end of s3?? "it doesn't feel right"--i just feel like a better established connection with lottie would more believably bring her to that position.

also, going back to the shauna of it all. yes, yes, i know she's a baddie with no conscience this season. she's the pinnacle of "it" and all that. but like... i really think that her prioritization diminishes the possibility of other tai??? and more importantly, what other tai could mean for lottie??? (lottie has TWO HANDS.)

like what's more "it" and the wilderness than sneaking around at night, sniffing the trees, and eating handfuls of dirt???? like, other tai is fucking unhinged, animalistic--clearly brutal in her desires. she wants to consume, consume, consume--even to the point of biting van's lip in the kiss and drawing blood. eating jackie's fucking face??? to me, that could have been so reflective of the wilderness, and we could have had lottie "mad scientist" matthews wanting to fuck with the tiger, get her out of the cage, and see how she plays with everyone dkjfasljfdsfj. like oh my fucking god, think about them pumping each other up and howling at the fucking moon, my deranged shaylas <333 dskjfslafjk

also, imagine this-- lottie being the one whose prayer circles give tai the ability to subdue other tai; lottie whose encouragement gives her the ability to lean into other tai, to feel her out and exist as her and explore her. and then in the adult timeline when lottie dies? that being the prelude to taissa losing all control over other tai and being overcome??? i mean, it would have been a really fucking cool show of hand across timelines that would have slapped.

also, i just like the idea of this relationship foreshadowing an adult relationship that is seriously so soft. because taissa and lottie might come to understand they're sides of the same coin--women at war with their own minds and desires. i would have loved to see some vulnerability between them during s2, if we had thought they'd actually been given the chance to develop a relationship. like can you envision the softness of taissa explaining to lottie what has happened with simone and sammy and lottie bringing tai--strong tai, her warrior out in the wilderness--into a sweet, loving hug??? because she is intimately aware of what it's like to ruin things??? like oh my god, makes me GNAW MY FIST.

and fuck that's not even getting into what i imagine their soccer dynamic was, which i've written about here.
