I Can't Think Straight

Tala, a London-based Palestinian, is preparing for her elaborate Middle Eastern wedding when she meets Leyla, a young British Indian woman who is dating her best friend. Spirited Christian Tala and shy Muslim Leyla could not be more different from each other, but the attraction is immediate and goes deeper than friendship. But Tala is not ready to accept the implications of the choice her heart has made for her and escapes back to Jordan, while Leyla tries to move on with her new-found life, to the shock of her tradition-loving parents. As Tala’s wedding day approaches, simmering tensions come to boiling point and the pressure mounts for Tala to be true to herself.

Letterboxd:

The second film Lisa Ray And Sheetal Sheth played as girlfriends! I love their chemistry. Didn't actually like some things like the characterization of religion; some of the ridiculous actings; and somehow pressuring your girlfriend to come out to her parents, so I don't know why I still loved it. And oh, Tala makes me incapable of thinking straight.

I definitely watched I Can't Think Straight and I literally can't think straight because Tala's a beauty. Accents make my knees go weak, you meant Tala right? Leyla had brown ones! I'm looking for more gay ass movies with a happy ending (I deserve it after going through heartbreaking ones).

yess her! honestly same, any accent that isn’t my own makes me so weak haha, i don’t blame you! and samee, i used to think i hated romantic films as a kid but turns out i just hated the straight ones 😂

i cant think straight ok the beginning did not grab me but i liked the latter half especially when leyla got to have more of a voice + personality. The dance scene ooofgh. I need to lie down . When they’re at the lecture and tala is like you couldn’t possibly be here to learn about Jordan because Jordan is boring as fuck. that was funny. The sisters scheming. I really want to read the book now because it was written/directed by a couple with similar backgrounds to the characters 🥺 imagine making a movie with your beautiful wife
