Hey Jalebi! How are u? How's life going?
I just started my articleship & let's just say office tracks are only fun on screen & paper. Okay, if they would just give me some work, just something to do, instead of making us sit do nothing it would be better but whatever it'll get better (fingers crossed). So, my ask is do u read? I've been on a readers' block & pretty much anything which isn't ipk or khushi-arnav-esque doesn't interest me. I'm looking for good books, if u have any recs for a good grumpy×sunshine/enemies-to-lovers/office romance (lol, definitely not the one I shud read rn) or anything that gives the same feelz
Your favourite dupatta 🍁
Hello Hi,
OMG CONGRATS.
Hope your articleship has gotten better now! Ah, my dear, I haven't read a book in AGES and tbh, I've rarely read romance outside fanfics. (I still am a bookworm, just gotta develop it again).
I feel I'll have an easier time telling you all the love stories I've read and maybe you can see if any pique your interest?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Love Story by Eric Segal
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I Can't Think Straight by Shamim Sarif
Most of the other romances I read were a string of free Mills & Boons books that I could catch during 2016-2020 (don't even remember their names!). Some Wattpad stuff (DO NOT RECOMMEND)
However, during my wattpad days I did find a series that you might just enjoy
Storm & Silence series by Rob Thier (there are a few problematic things but overall enjoyable with the feisty heroine stuck up hero trope and I have NOT read it again so, after years, I don't know whether it aged well or not!)\
I've read quite a few solid stuff that I just don't remember - AND I WISH I DID!
But this is pretty much it - if anyone can recommend books please drop links or recs below!
Best,
Jalebi (life is going good)

Every night I empty my heart, but by morning it's full again. Slow droplets of you seep in through the night's soft caress. An aching pleasure that gives me no respite. Splits asunder, spilling crimson through my days. - Shamim Sarif

Check out lesfic by authors like Nicola Griffith, Gerri Hill, Jae, Karin Kallmaker, A.K. Larkwood, Malinda Lo, Arkady Martine, Shamim Sarif, Emily Skrutskie, Tasha Suri, Heather Walter, Sarah Waters, and Lee Winter. I think they have audiobooks of most if not all of their works.

STUDIO CITY, CA – March 6, 2023 – Del (Andie MacDowell, “Maid,” “Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove”) shares a long-held suspicion with Kat (Chyler Leigh, “Supergirl,” “Grey’s Anatomy”), while Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow, “The Apprentice”) comes to an emotional conclusion about her life in the past in the “Lovefool” episode of “The Way Home” premiering Sunday, March 12 (9 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel. Evan Williams (Blonde, “Versailles”), Alex Hook (“I Am Frankie”), Al Mukadam (“Pretty Hard Cases,” “The Detail”), Jefferson Brown (Masters of Romance, “Slasher”) and David Webster (Luckiest Girl Alive, “In the Dark”) also star.
When Kat travels to the past she gains a surprising, new insight into the effect Jacob’s disappearance had on Del and Colton (Brown). Back in the present day, Del shares a disturbing revelation that prompts Kat to return to 2000 on a quest for answers. When an old friend shows up in Port Haven for a visit, Alice realizes her relationship has no future and makes a difficult decision.
“The Way Home” is a Neshama Entertainment production in association with MarVista Entertainment. Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer, Larry Grimaldi, Ani Kevork, Arnie Zipursky, Marly Reed, Suzanne Berger, Lauren MacKinlay, MacDowell and Leigh are executive producers. “Every night I empty my heart, but by morning it's full again. Slow droplets of you seep in through the night's soft caress. At dawn, I overflow with thoughts of us, an aching pleasure that gives me no respite. Love cannot be contained, the neat packaging of desire splits asunder, spilling crimson through my days. Long, languishing days that are now bruised tender with yearning. Spent searching for a fingerprint, a scent, a breath you left behind.”
