Alright, Sorry this one took me so long to get to (and media should be enabled, just don't spam too many pictures)

Now, bear witness to the monstrosity that is the Fallout 4 tank!

In the vast wasteland of post-nuclear Boston you can find many remnants of the Pre-War military, and this is one of the two types of armored vehicles you'll come across.

So this is based on the aesthetics of many late WWII-early Cold War American tanks and prototypes, with no clear inspiration taken from any one vehicle (that I know of)

So, let's start with the quad-tracks why don't we?

They're bad, really bad. Not only do they lack any drive sprockets, but the road wheels are to close together and they aren't even in-line with each other. This just increases the width of the tank with out any sort of benefit. This thing also weighs sixty tons, so even with the nuclear power-pack (also a bad idea) it's probably not going anywhere fast (and forget about soft terrain).

Now I don't know much about the armor on this, other that it's riveted armor, which fell out of use during WWII. Riveted armor isn't good, repeated hits (even sustained heavy machine-gun fire) can loosen the rivets and cause them to fall out or go ricocheting through the tank.

And things aren't any better in the turret. It has a pair of 140mm guns (I'll go into detail on why double-guns and quad-track are bad ideas in another post) and rail-mounts for machine-guns on the commander and loader's hatches, but no co-ax MG. This leaves gaps in the tank's defenses and give it a cramped turret. The turret can't even rotate 360 degrees, it's blocked by all the greebles on the engine deck.

I can't see a single sight or periscope on this ugly thing, not even in the commander's cupola. It might be totally blind.

There are at least two crew members, a commander and a gunner. There might be more but I have no idea where they would sit, hopefully not in the turret, there's barely any space inside it left.

Now about those greebles... There are to many, and most of them don't do any thing or actively inhibit the tank. That big thing hanging off the left side of the engine deck is a system of heat sinks for the nuclear power pack. It does at least have plenty of miscellaneous hatches in some useful places.

A nuclear power-pack is a very bad idea. Almost any damage too it will cause it to start leaking radiation or meltdown.

Sir Topham Hatt is a BILLIONAIRE?!

Ok, so I just discovered this, and I was wondering if anyone else had discovered this - but apparently the Fat Controller is richer than Mr Burns according to Forbes magazine?! And he's worth $2 Billion USD, for his massive railway empire, vintage locomotive collection and real estate holdings.

Ok, I'm sorry - but Sir Topham Hatt is worth more than Rihanna, and to make matters even more interesting - $2 billion is what Forbes pegged his worth at in 2010 (and then continuously to today, where he still is amongst the 15 wealthiest fictional characters according to Forbes).

What's the betting he's worth more now? The Thomas and Friends franchise has made approximately $9.12 billion USD in its lifetime - putting it on par with Jurassic Park, Angry Birds and Dragon Ball in worth, and meaning that the little blue tank engine is worth more than Mario. Are you saying Sir Topham wouldn't have invested in this media juggernaut? Not to mention the fact that as an industrialist and transport tycoon who has a monopoly on transport on and off the famed Island of Sodor, he probably makes a ridiculous amount of money every year from tourism.

And that's before we mention that one little fact that his family is intertwined with all the other major players on the island, including the Earl, the Viscount, the Brown family (Skarloey Railway) and the Croarie family (Anopha Quarry). So the Hatt name has several other prominent families backing it.

Does this make Sodor an oligarchy? The Brown family is a political dynasty with a railway, the Croarie family owns the largest quarry on Sodor (if not possibly England, seeing as its still running, 100 years on), the Norramby family holds an Earldom, the Regaby family is both part of the railway and holds a Viscountcy, and the Hatt family runs a transport empire, which includes all the major ports on the island, as well as holding a Baronetcy.

Um... so Sir Topham Hatt might actually be worth even more than he's listed as owning? Cause I talked about all of this without mentioning the Sodor Aluminium Company, which the NWR owns a sizeable stake in.

The Hatt Family is making bank off mineral wealth, manufacturing, transport, tourism, real estate, generational wealth and tourism. And all this with a vintage fleet of steam engines (which only add to his net worth, due to their rarity and star-value).

So, uh... how do I get in on this?

The Fish Tank from Grey's Anatomy is Big Enough

we have a single big eye squirrelfish which need anywhere from 60-100g depending on your source, a couple of blue damsels which need about 30g at least, a yellow tang or two which need 90g, and a kole yellow eye tang - 60g. The stocking does tend to get changed up slightly (or maybe we're just seeing more fish? Who's to say) between episodes or seasons, including having a variety of different surgeon fish, a bird wrasse, etc. Using the filing boxes as a reference that puts the tank at minimum 60g however with how comfortable the fish look inside the tank, and certain up close shots lead me to believe it's actually much bigger--at least 100g. Ultimately this is an accurate representation of what fish truly need--space, filtration, hiding spots.

I long to live in a world where ppl realise that to judge doctor who's ratings, you need to compare them to the other shows airing with it Today, not to its own ratings 15 years ago.

Tv live ratings have gone down In General, If you compare them to that of 20 years ago the figure is going to tank. To judge if a TV show is doing okay you judge it by comparing it to its compatriots, not itself of the past.

Btw. 13's era of dw was one of their most successful fiction shows, in context. It was not flailing for survival.

Also. It's 2023. iPlayer viewings are kind of important 🙃 kind of didn't Have iPlayer when nu!who started up and Had to watch it live, which automatically boosts live viewer figures like jfc, yes I know some of you are young but fucking hell I still had dial up years after they rebooted dw 🤣 if I missed it I missed it

How about Warhammer's Razorback / Rhino?

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only M113.

Even a few thousand years into the future you still need a battle taxi, and this is the Imperium's.

So this is clearly just an M113 that's been Grim-Dark'ed.

It's fairly mobile with a top-speed of ~45 mph (70 kph) and a middling weight of 30 tons. It is powered by a futuristic multi-fuel engine, which is a plus for logistics.

It's armor profile is somewhat variable, as it can be constructed of various materials; from far future composites to just plain steel. Armor thickness is listed as 60mm, but I'm not sure if that's the actual thickness of the plates of its RHA equivalent.

It's lacking in the weapons department, usually only mounting light weapons (with the exception of specialized variants). Also, sometime they put frag grenades in the the smoke launchers.

It has a decent array of view-ports for thew driver, who is the only crew member, and pulls double duty by remotely operating the machinegun.

It has a fair collection of auxiliary features: handles, headlights, and hatches.

Respectable Infantry capacity of 10 dudes in power armor.

FINAL SCORES

Credibility: 5/10 - 70-Year-Old Doctrine

This is kinda cute. Makes the fish tank whimsical! I know nothing about fish husbandry other than they need much bigger tanks than they usually get so I can't comment on the fish tank aspect besides aesthetics. The teapot itself is interesting though I must ask why the donut shape with the hole in the middle. I've seen teapots like that before and I always ask "why tho" but this one's white and blue theme is really pretty.
