Tarlos Headcanon

I have this headcanon that Carlos owns this pair of Bucees pajama pants and he’s had them for years so they’re a bit worn but also very soft and TK finds them in his drawer and just becomes completely enamored with them (and really all things bucees. this is pertinent to Texas culture, trust) so he steals them. They’re ridiculous pants, but Carlos falls a little more in love when he sees TK wearing them

A conversation between Carlos and TK where Carlos asks TK if he wants to become a captain like his dad one day and TK is like fuck no. Carlos thinks it’s because he doesn’t want the responsibility, and TK is like well yeah but do you know how much paperwork my dad has to do? I’d never be home. Do you have any headcanons revolving around which sports Tarlos did when they were younger? My current one is that Carlos did wrestling/some kind of martial art and TK was a little league/track team person lol

Oh yes I do!

For Carlos, I think he was super active in sports and did sports all year long. He did martial arts all year long. In the Fall he did football. In the winter he did baseball and wrestling. In the Spring he did track or cross county. Over the summer he played on the local baseball team. He just gives me vibes of being a sporty guy throughout school.

For TK I think he did some sports but not many. I think he did a little bit of basketball and some track as well. I HC he did little league when he was younger but I also HC that he got into drugs around 15/16 and then kind of fell out of doing sports to focus on, well, his illegal activities.

This is based on absolutely nothing and my personal hatred for Owen Strand (and maybe some stills):

Owen is going to get involved with something dramatic, silly and dangerous. Probably because he's bored or maybe his inflated got a tiny scratch. Anyway, he'll be working with the Sargent and at some point, they'll need someone to go undercover.

Owen's obviously going to propose Carlos. And you've got to say yes to your future father in law, right? TK is going to be very frustrated because WTF OUR WEDDING IS IN TWO DAYS!

And voilà! Carlos gets hurt/ (almost) doesn't make it to his own wedding. Everything is very angsty and our Owen hatred reaches another level.

The first half of the bridge is Carlos’ pov. It explains Carlos’ feeling throughout the break up, at the point where the idea of them ever getting back together was completely lost.

And the second half is TK.

He knew why he ran was bad. He knew by the end how much it hurt Carlos. And he didn’t have anything in the end to defend himself with.

“I persist and resist the temptation to ask you, If one thing had been different, Would everything be different today?”

And this was the constant thought on their mind. If the house never burnt down, or if Carlos never bought the loft, or if TK choose to stay…

Making edits of character your hate, constantly harassing and bullying people who don’t ship your ship, investigating and doxxing people, taking the time to study the way people type online so you can identify that person, sending csa fics to people, tagging bucktommy tag in their fics to mislead…. All of this instead of reading fics and creating hcs of buddie and enjoying it. This is so miserable. I’m truly serious when I say they need professional help. This is not heathly. They’re making everyone’s experiences in the 911 fandom a living hell. Not only to bt shippers but also henren, madney, tarlos and bathena shippers. Fandom is supposed to a safe place to escape from work and shit.

And the thing is it’s always the same demographic….

1. Which 911 Lone Star season finale is your favorite?

tossup between 1x10 and 4x18, i think. i love the way 1x10 ties everything together, tk telling the 126 about his addiction, the way everyone comes together in the solar storm, the tarlos of it all.... it's such a beautiful ep

4x18 is just.... the wedding is unmatched, and i love the message of enduring love in the face of grief and pain. i struggle with this episode sometimes because it's overall pretty heavy and all three storylines dealing with grief can be a bit much, but i really do think it was beautifully done ultimately, and i'll never be over the wedding of it all

2. What was your favorite moment from the season 4 finale?

carlos's vows, i would say. they were so validating, confirming hcs i'd had about him being sort of isolated before tk, and just a lot of my overall thoughts about his character. that doesn't happen very often for me, and it was really cool to see the writing agree so much with what i'd been thinking about him for months, i love feeling like the writers get me

3. Are there any storylines that you would like to see brought back for a more satisfying conclusion?

this isn't really a storyline, but i really want exploration of nancy's sexuality after that line in 3x17. i do think it was a nod to her being bi and i'd love to see that more explored, or at the very least, said explicitly in the writing. i think it's such an important statement and works so well with her character

4. Pick one character and tell us where you hope to see them at the end of season 5.

i hope to see carlos loved and feeling at peace, not necessarily fully over his dad's death but feeling like he can move forward, one day at a time, and know it'll get easier. i hope he's having the best married life he could ask for and he's happy and healthy and aware that so many good things are in his future <3

5. What is one thing you really want to see before the show ends?

honestly i just want to see all of them together and happy. i'm a simple woman i want 126 shenanigans and lovely domestic tarlos and i'm set. i hope, no matter what happens, the show ends on a happy/hopeful note.

Em gimme the insight on why you chose a dog, this dog breed fr Lizzy and how you plan for fics in general? <3

Hey Michelle!

I’m so happy to talk about Lizzie and I am so glad you asked 😄 so she is actually the brainchild of me and @ironheartwriter! We plan on writing a collab fic sometime soon about Lizzie’s origins, and Lana actually was the one to suggest an Australian shepherd after I said they need a medium-sized dog for the loft, and it needs to be fluffy. We wanted her to have heterochromia, and I imagine her being a little more brown and white like the first picture below, but really either is okay.

We chose a dog for Tarlos just because they seem like dog people. TK loves dogs, he’s always wanted one, and Carlos needs a pet he can pet. I also have a personal hc that Carlos had a stereotypical crusty white dog growing up just because many Hispanic families do 😂 (mine included)

Carlos definitely had her trained by someone that works with police dogs and she often goes to the firehouse with TK. Marjan absolutely spoils her. Aussies are pretty high energy dogs so we wanted a dog that TK could take to the firehouse to run around.

She’s the best dog ever and loves both of her dads so much 💕

As for your second question, my fic planning process is sort of all over the place. I often start fics without an ending in mind. So Lana has been an amazing brainstorm buddy for me lately, who has really helped me narrow down ideas and helped me with direction and scenes when I’m head empty.

Right now I have a long fic I’m in the process of writing that I entirely outlined for. So I have this whole fic planned out, which is really helping keep up my enthusiasm for writing it! I usually do this with my longer stories, but with my oneshots, I typically figure it out as I go along, or I’ll have some scenes in mind I want to make sure I include.

Generally, a lot of my writing starts out of just having vibes in my head and then I try and figure out a storyline for it from there. Lately for example, I’ve had a lot of vibes and feelings to write a TK fic centered around his relationships with both Gwyn and Andrea, but I haven’t really nailed down what I want it to look like or what I want to accomplish with it. Or even if it should just be two different fics. It’s just sort of these feelings I know I want to capture.

I also have a knight au I want to work on but I’m having trouble starting it because I need to research more on knights. But I definitely know what the middle parts of that fic look like and I have a vague idea for an ending.

So really, my fic planning is very sporadic 😂 sorry this got a little long and rambly but thank you so much for asking 🥰💕

Part 7 of tarlos song head-cannon

I’ve had this massive ephinany after seeing a post by @paper-storm talking about Carlos during the break up. (If you haven’t read, I do suggest it).

And made me realise, how right where you left me by taylor swift is a tarlos song.

I don’t want to rehash too much paper-storm did, I don’t want to sound like I’ve copied them.

But it did make me think just how lonely he must have been. We don’t know about friends Carlos had prior to TK, or much about his life before. We’ve only seen two of his family members and heard of an aunt, but we don’t really know if he has siblings. And clearly with Nancy not knowing anything about the break up, it shows neither of them had talked about it to anyone.

So if I’m following what we’ve currently got, that left Carlos with no one. Which I had never thought about before. But it links very closely to the taylor swift song.

We don’t know loads on what happened on the actual break up, but we do know TK was the person to end things. Leaving Carlos alone.

And after the disaster of the house fire, it left Carlos with nothing. TK, I assume, moved in with Mateo and continued with his life. Moving to a new place of work, with his original crew and still doing the 126 hangs. But Carlos (something paper-storm pointed out) had to move in to the place he bought for them, expect just him.

He lost his group of friends he just made, and i can’t stop thinking about how awkward it must have felt for Carlos on calls which they both worked on. They’d all say hi and whatever, and Carlos had to watch from afar them move on with their lives, just without him.

The only friend we knew Carlos to have before TK was Michelle and she’s gone. He couldn’t tell his parents… which left him completely alone.

Right where TK had left him. Just this time with no one else.

In the position he was in, he needed a group of friends. His house had built, on his own, his entire life was in that house. And he lost it. Then he lost the love of his life. Then the group of friends he just made.

At the restaurant, when I was still the one you want ,Cross-legged in the dim light, everything was just right”

And then. After 6 months of desperately trying to move on, he gets thrown back to him after a deadly accident.

And has to confront feelings he’s not only probably tried to avoid, but had no one to tell. So he tells the only person who he can.

TK himself.

And yeah, yeah they get back together blah blah blah.

But did the 126 gang try to reach out? They call or message? What about Owen. He would have definitely known. And mostly likely scowled for TK running away like that… but ultimately knew there wasn’t anything he could do.

Or did they not? Decide they didn’t want to get involved with something they didn’t know about.

Paper-storm’s post has ruined me in way I can’t say and now only think of tarlos when I listen to right where you left me.
