Last month we received some info on an upcoming Huawei Y8s with an actual notch on the front and a dual camera on the back. Today the device is finally official - it was listed on Huawei’s website in the Arab country of Jordan. The phone brings a 6.5” LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution. It has a relatively small notch on the top, where we have two selfie cameras on both sides of the earpiece. There is a main 8 MP f/2.0 shooter, assisted by 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor for background blur. The main cameras are also two - while the secondary snapper is the very same as the one on the front, the main shooter is 48 MP with an f/1.8 aperture. They are both lined vertically and have an LED flash to keep them company in a black rectangle setup. The Huawei Y8s comes with a Kirin 710 chipset and 4 GB RAM, but there are two memory options - 64 GB and 128 GB, both with support for MicroSD. The battery of the phone is 4,000 mAh, but sadly, it charges through a microUSB port. The OS also isn’t ideal - Android Pie with EMUI 9.1 on top, but at least it has Google services. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #huaweiy8s #jordan #arab #arabcountry #lcd #fhd #48mp #8mp #2mp #emui #androidpie #4000mah #4gbram #kirin710 #64gb #microusb #google #gms #googleservices #australia #iceland #switzerland #usa #uk https://www.instagram.com/p/B_2LRC1Ac42/?igshid=fanbhw1doonp

Huawei has unveiled the FreeBuds 3i for European markets. These are truly wireless Bluetooth earbuds with active noise cancellation built-in. That instantly makes them compete head to head with Apple's AirPods Pro. And when you look at the design of the FreeBuds 3i, that point will be fully driven home. The AirPods have clearly served as inspiration here, but let's not let that get in the way. The FreeBuds 3i each feature a 3-mic system, of which two mics are outward-facing, and one is inward-facing. The former pick up your voice, the latter receives your voice conducted inside your ears to enhance call quality. In this respect, they are similar to Samsung's Galaxy Buds+. However, they're cheaper than those 'buds, and add in active noise cancellation of up to 32dB. You do pay for that in battery life though. On their own, the FreeBuds 3i will only last you 3 and a half hours on a charge if you listen to music, and that drops to 2.5 hours for calls. Luckily the case adds 14.5 hours of music listening or 10.5 hours of talk time on top of that. Charging time is around one hour for the earbuds in the case, and 115 minutes for the case itself. The control scheme involves taps on either 'bud - a long tap turns ANC on or off, a double tap plays/pauses music and answers/ends calls. You get 4 silicone tip sizes in the box, and 10mm dynamic drivers in the 'buds. The earbuds have IPX4 water resistance. The FreeBuds 3i go on sale in the UK in Ceramic White from the Huawei Store on May 20, priced at £89.99. They will then be available at select third party retailers on June 17, alongside the Carbon Black colorway. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #huaweifreebuds3 #huaweifreebuds3i #huaweifreebuds #buds #wirelessearbuds #earbuds #appleairpodspro #airpodspro #apple #samsung #samsunggalaxybuds #samsunggalaxybudsplus #airpods #anc #activenoisecancellation #noisecancellation #ipx4 #european #europe #italy #spain #iceland #switzerland #france https://www.instagram.com/p/B_2I-UoA9rc/?igshid=1d3ks34v3yzgi

Huawei officially unveiled both phones alongside the MatePad T8 tablet in Romania. Huawei Y6p The Y6p is built around a 6.3-inch IPS panel with an HD+ resolution and waterdrop notch for its 8MP selfie cam. Around the back, we find a 13MP main camera alongside a 5MP ultrawide module and a 2MP depth helper. There’s also a capacitive fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, the Y6p brings the Helio P22 chipset alongside 3GB RAM and 64GB of storage, which is expandable. The phone also sports a beefy 5,000mAh battery but it charges over the dated microUSB port. On the software side, we have EMUI 10.1 on top of Android 10 without Google Mobile Services (GMS) in favor of Huawei’s own HMS suite. The Huawei Y6p is available in black, green and purple colors with a starting price of RON 799 (€165). Pre-orders start tomorrow with a RON 200 (€40) discount. Huawei Y5p The Y5p brings a 5.45-inch TFT LCD with classic top an bottom bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The back houses a single 8MP camera with LED flash while the front packs a 5MP selfie shooter. The phone is powered by the same Helio P22 chipset as the Y6p paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage which is again expandable via microSD cards. The battery, however, is just 3,020 mAh and will be topped up via the microUSB port. The phone boots EMUI 10.1 with Android 10 but no GMS. The Huawei Y5p comes in black, blue and mint colors. It goes on pre-order tomorrow for 599 RON (€125), early birds can take advantage of the same RON 200 (€40) discount. Huawei MatePad T8 The MatePad T8 is a budget tablet with an 8-inch LCD panel of 800p (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution. Around the back, it brings a 5MP primary camera while the front packs a 2MP selfie shooter. Under the hood, we have the eight-core MTK8768 chipset, 2GB RAM and 16/32GB internal storage which is expandable via the microSD slot. The battery comes in at 5,100 mAh. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #huaweiy5p #huaweiy6p #honor9s #honor9a #android10 #lcd #fhd #5000mah #huaweimatepadt8 #heliop22 #matepadt8 #australia #usa #uk #iceland #canada #france #denmark #emui #germany #romania #italy #hungary #ron https://www.instagram.com/p/B_1jw0UAaI-/?igshid=dy5fgb0krvq5

The Huawei Y5p is the more affordable of the two - it comes with 5.45” LCD of HD+ resolution and 18:9 ratio - this means no notches and no punch holes - just classic top and bottom bezels. On the inside, we have a Helio P22 chipset, coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, along with a microSD slot for adding extra space. The leak reveals a dual-camera setup - one of them is 8MP, the other looks like a cam for bokeh shots, so likely a 2MP depth sensor. There is no word on the selfie camera, positioned in the top bezel right next to the speaker and the proximity sensor. What we do know is the 3,020 mAh battery, charged through a microUSB port (sigh), Android 10 and EMUI 10.1 on top. The Huawei Y6p looks a bit more modern - it comes with three cameras and a fingerprint scanner on the back. While the chipset remains Helio P22, there is an improvement in the screen department - now we’re looking at a 6.3” Full HD+ LCD panel with a waterdrop notch for the 8 MP camera. The three cameras are 13 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP, the main shooter likely flanked by a depth sensor and ultrawide snapper. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh, but sadly charging is again done over microUSB. At least the OS is Android 10. Both specs sheets look familiar - the Huawei Y5p is pretty much a rebranded Honor 9S, while the Huawei Y6p is the Honor 9A with a redesigned camera setup. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #huaweiy5p #huaweiy6p #honor9s #honor9a #android10 #lcd #fhd #5000mah #13mp #microusb #heliop22 #australia #usa #uk #iceland #switzerland #canada #france #denmark #emui #germany #europe #italy #hungary https://www.instagram.com/p/B_1Y-wJg5OR/?igshid=1t3ox2qmb9kmv

Huawei has started seeding EMUI 10.1.0.1.26 firmware to some of its Huawei P40 and P40 Pro units in China and may soon hit global units as well. It's not a major update but it does bring some nice changes, mostly in the camera department. The most notable one would be the picture-in-picture viewfinder when going beyond the 15x zoom. It allows you to get a better idea of where you've zoomed in on the subject by adding a secondary non-zoomed viewfinder. The update also improves the camera performance when snapping fast-moving objects, the overall clarity of images and colors are more accurate and true to life now. Other under the hood changes include optimization of WiFi connectivity and the notifications in the drop-down menu. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page_update #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #emui #huaweip40 #huaweip40pro #china #update #softwareupdate #camera #performance #wifi #australia #usa #uk #argentina #brasil #india #germany #spain #iceland #switzerland #firmware #ghana #westafrica #denmark https://www.instagram.com/p/B_yumDAAqx9/?igshid=1qj0mij5vgt9b

Since losing its access to Google Mobile Services (GMS) nearly a year ago, Huawei has been looking for ways to expand its app portfolio through the App Gallery store. Now, it got a serious addition with Here WeGo Maps (formerly Here Maps) which is now available for download on the App Gallery. The app offers full walking, public transport, bike and turn-by-turn driving directions complete with offline maps functionality. It works in over 100 countries with over 1,300 cities. If you have a Huawei or Honor device with the App Gallery, you can head to the source link to download Here WeGo Maps. It’s definitely a good sign seeing more quality apps featured in Huawei’s ecosystem and following the tech giant’s ambitious incentive for developers we will surely see more big names on the App Gallery soon. In addition, Huawei has expressed its desire to bring popular local apps to its key markets. . . . . #techies_page_herewegomaps #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #herewego #herewegomaps #appgallery #google #huawei #honor #cities #countries #usa #uk #australia #china #india #canada #armenia #argentina #brasil #spain #indonesia #japan #srilanka #pakistan #maps #heremaps https://www.instagram.com/p/B_ZlUy3ATZP/?igshid=15g5ffwsvmkg4

The Huawei MatePad is built around a 10.4" 2,000 x 1,200 pixel IPS display and a Kirin 810 chipset. It packs a 7,250mAh battery with 18W fast charging via Type-C port. Other hardware highlights of the MatePad include two 8MP cameras. The rear one does come complete with autofocus, while the selfie one is fixed focus. All of this is crammed inside a 245.2mm x 154.96mm x 7.35mm metal body, tipping the scale at 450 grams. Most of the published press materials focus on the tablet’s use as an educational tool. Huawei has baked-in an education center, full of learning resources and complete with tis own special “focus UI”. It works alongside a few other measures to make sure that younger users of the MatePad focus on their schoolwork and don’t become addicted. And seeing how the biggest use case for the MatePad will likely be reading text, the tablet also includes a special reading mode, which not only cuts-out blue light and simulates a monochrome e-paper like experience, but also monitors for the user’s eye distance and posture. Neat. EMUI on the MatePad also offer multi-window support and integration with other compatible devices as part of the new EMUI 10.1. There are no Google Services in case you were wondering. The MatePad also offers support for Huawei’s M-Pencil stylus accessory. The Huawei MateBook features four large Harman Kardon-tuned speakers and an array of four microphones. In addition to boosting multimedia experience it also facilitates virtual learning and classrooms. The Huawei MatePad is available in a trio of configurations: 4GB + 64GB Wi-Fi, 6GB + 128GB Wi-Fi and 6GB + 128GB LTE. In a "oopsie" moment for Huawei’s PR department a photo was featured as part of a promo video for a Huawei mobile photography contest, held on Weibo. The video was meant to showcase beautiful photos taken on Huawei photos, but Weibo user Jamie-hua second-place winner at a similar 2018 iPhone contest, was paying close and actually managed to recognize and track down one of the shots in the video. The image in question is actually available on 500px and was made by photographer Su Tie. And, as the 500px page and published EXIF clearly list, was taken using a Nikon D850 rather than a Huawei smartphone. Jamie-hua also listedd a few other suspicious shots, though wasn't able to prove where they were sourced from. Huawei has officially apologized since, saying the photos were wrongly marked and explaining it all with an oversight by the editor. The company also edited the promotional contest video to not include the problematic shots. We definitely understand that mistakes can happen, especially when dealing with user-submitted content, but this is not a first for Huawei. Sure, details and particulars have always been slightly different, but the Chinese giant does have a habit of passing-off, accidentally or not, DSLR shots as ones taken from their phones. There was a similar case all the way back while the Huawei P9 was being promoted. More recently, the Huawei nova 3 was involved in an eerily similar DSLR-related promotional mix-up. And, of course, there is the now infamous P30 zoom fiasco. Granted in those previous cases it wasn't explicitly stated that any of the shots was produced by the phone itself, but the implication was quite clear. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #dslrphotography #dslr #dslrphoto #weibo #smartphone #huaweip9 #huaweinova3 #huaweip30zoom #huaweip30pro #nikon #nikond850 #nikonphotography #apologize #usa #china #uk #australia #exif #photography #contest #canada #unitedstates #unitedkingdom #russia https://www.instagram.com/p/B_T0rcNgnj9/?igshid=e378h4y84owu

Huawei made about as much money in Q1 of 2020 as in Q1 of 2019. The company's total revenue was CNY 182.2B ($25.75B) - a 1.4 percentage point increase over the CNY 179.7B ($25.43B) of last year's Q1. Meanwhile net profit in Q1 of 2020 dipped to 7.3%, compared to 8% of Q1 2019. Huawei claims its operations are continuing as usual, despite the current pandemic. The maker is even confident that it will increase its global market share, despite the expected 20% decline in global shipments. As the pandemic slowed in China, local revenue managed to recover in March. But Huawei is seeing a slow-down outside its home market, including Huawei's 5G deployment business. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #huaweip30pro #huaweiphotography #huaweip40pro #huaweip40 #huaweip30 #marketshare #market #money #profit #q1 #q2 #usa #china #uk #unitedstates #unitedkingdom #cny #operations #pandemic #global #shipments #5g #business #revenue https://www.instagram.com/p/B_SwZOigGki/?igshid=y2z70vri2e8u

Huawei’s nova 7 series will gain three new members on April 23 (this Thursday), but an eager store already put two of them on its shelves, which resulted in the first hands-on video. It shows that the nova 7 and the 7 Pro will be more similar than expected. The video starts with the nova 6 followed by the Huawei nova 7 5G. If you count the cameras, you’ll see that the new model has one more module – a quad setup. The About screen lists the resolutions as 64+8+8+2MP, plus a single 32MP selfie camera on the front. The nova 7 is powered by the Kirin 985 5G chipset and comes with 8GB of RAM and will be available with 128GB or 256GB of storage. The Huawei nova 7 Pro 5G surprisingly also uses the 985 chipset instead of the flagship 990 5G as rumors suggested. It gets the same memory configurations too, 8/128GB and 8/256GB. The quad camera on the back is also listed as 64+8+8+2MP, but this time the second 8MP camera has a periscope lens with OIS. The camera app goes up to 50x digital zoom, which suggests optical zoom of 5x. The main 64MP shooter has a bright f/1.8 aperture and (seemingly) no OIS. Going back to the vanilla model for a second, its two 8MP modules have f/2.4 apertures and no OIS. The app shows up 10x digital zoom, so we are probably looking at a traditional lens with 2x optical zoom. Also notice that the Pro model will have a screen with strongly-curved sides – it’s a 6.57” OLED panel. The vanilla phone gets a flat 6.53” OLED instead, both have 1080p+ resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The nova 7 Pro has a dual punch hole on the front, housing a 32MP and an 8MP selfie cameras, likely wide and ultra wide. Both phones be powered by the same 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging. . . . . #techies_page_huawei #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #huawei #huaweinova7pro #huaweinova7 #huaweinova75g #huaweinova7pro5g #5g #nova7pro #nova7 #fastcharging #40wfastcharger #4000mah #huaweinova7se #kirin #kirin985 #kirin990 #oled #periscope #quadcamera #1080p #ois #64mp #8mp #2mp #50xzoom #opticalzoom https://www.instagram.com/p/B_SQssKDmwr/?igshid=ma5k6afmp40l
