· ₊ Ⳋ I CAN’T HANDLE CHANGE ꒷.

享受 ! .°. ݁₊ 𐙚 f!reader (idk gender is really specified), cw: ceo x secretary, mention of an oc (Jiwon), attempt at crack in between not proofread :P, 1.2K WC
Masterlist
When you walked into Hyunjin’s office that morning with a somber expression, he didn’t expect to feel the sudden heaviness that dropped in his chest. He had barely taken a sip of his morning americano when you quietly announced you’d be taking a short leave to take care of your sick mother. It wasn’t forever. You’d be back in a week or two, depending on how things went. You promised to keep him updated, and you even emailed a full, color-coded schedule for the next ten workdays, complete with notes, reminders, backup documents, and even motivational post-it messages for when things inevitably went wrong.
Hyunjin blinked at you for a long moment. Then he nodded slowly, not trusting himself to say much.
“Alright,” he said after a beat, trying to sound neutral, professional. “Family comes first. Take all the time you need.”
You smiled softly at him, and he returned it, even if his felt tight around the edges. When you left that afternoon after wrapping up the day's work, he sat in his chair staring at your now empty desk outside his office, wondering why the thought of not seeing you for a few days made him feel so off-kilter. It’s not like he liked you. That would be completely inappropriate. You were his secretary. A very good one. Efficient, organized, smart, annoyingly intuitive about his moods. That was it. Just a secretary. A very competent, extremely capable, incredibly witty, irritatingly cute—
He cut himself off with a grunt and tossed a pen across his desk.
—
The next morning, the substitute secretary arrived. Hyunjin had been assured by HR that they found someone “just as qualified” as you, someone with experience and a calm demeanor. Her name was Jiwon, and she seemed nice enough. On paper. She walked in ten minutes late, introduced herself with a chirpy tone that made his eye twitch, and proceeded to unpack a Hello Kitty stapler, three pink gel pens, and a very large mirror from her tote bag.
Hyunjin stared. Then blinked. Then stared some more.
To be fair, Jiwon wasn’t bad at her job. She just wasn’t you. And that, unfortunately, meant that everything began falling apart.
The first thing to go wrong was the meeting schedule. You always arranged everything with precision. Hyunjin never had to check twice. But now? His Monday meeting with the marketing team was double-booked with the finance review, and instead of his 2 PM lunch with a client, he was dragged into a Zoom call with someone named Gerald who kept calling him "Mr. Huang" and asking him about stock investments in Albania.
The second thing to go wrong was the coffee. You always knew how he liked it. half sweet, no foam, two shots of espresso, slightly less ice, stirred counterclockwise, and served in his black mug with the little red crown on the side. Jiwon brought him iced vanilla lattes. With whipped cream. In a cup with a paper sleeve that said “Slay Queen.”
The third thing…well, by the time they reached the third thing, Hyunjin had a headache. And not the usual, manageable kind. No, this was the I-miss-my-secretary-and-the-world-is-burning kind. He didn’t want to admit it, but he was spiraling. The office looked the same. Functioned the same, technically. But something was off. You were the glue that held everything together, and now it felt like the glue had melted and everything was sliding into a chaotic pit of doom.
One morning, Hyunjin walked into the office, sat down at his desk, and stared blankly at the screen. The company’s quarterly review was that afternoon, but the numbers on the slide deck didn’t make sense. You always prepped the data for him, color-coded the charts, and wrote notes in the margins with little jokes to keep him awake during meetings. Now, all he had was a spreadsheet and a sad little sticky note that said “You got this, boss!” with a winky face.
He slumped in his chair. “I don’t got this.”
Jiwon poked her head in a second later. “Did you call me, Mr. Hwang?”
“No,” he said flatly.
“Oh. Okay. By the way, there’s a guy named Gerald waiting on Zoom again. I think he’s in Albania.”
Hyunjin slammed his head gently against the desk.
By the end of the week, everyone had noticed. He was moodier. Snappier. His tie was crooked two days in a row. He accidentally wore mismatched socks. During one staff meeting, he nearly burst into laughter halfway through a very serious presentation because he remembered how you once drew cat ears on his financial report when he wasn’t looking. He missed your weird little habits, like humming when you typed, or sticking post-its on his lunch container with puns like “lettuce meet deadlines today” and “you’re egg-cellent.”
He was in denial about it, of course. Anytime someone asked if he was okay, he’d wave them off with a grumble and mutter something about seasonal allergies or being behind on sleep. What he would never admit was that he had started checking his inbox way too often just to see if you’d emailed an update. When he finally received a short message from you that Friday afternoon, saying your mom was doing better and you’d likely return the following Monday, he nearly stood up and cheered. Instead, he calmly replied, “Glad to hear it. Take your time. Let me know if you need anything.” Then he stared at the screen for another five minutes and whispered, “Please come back before this place burns down.”
Monday came like a blessing. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. He even managed to tie his tie correctly on the first try. And when you finally walked into the office, tote bag in one hand and your usual iced coffee in the other, Hyunjin swore he heard a heavenly choir somewhere in the distance.
You beamed at him like you always did, setting your things down at your desk and immediately pulling out a notepad.
“Alright, what did I miss?” you asked brightly.
He looked at you for a long moment, then leaned against the doorway of his office.
“How much time do you have?”
You blinked, a little wary now. “That bad?”
“Let’s just say Gerald might have bought stock in our name. Also, there’s whipped cream in my soul.”
You snorted, clearly confused but entertained. “What?”
“Don’t leave again,” he said, too fast and too serious.
You raised a brow. “Hyunjin…”
He cleared his throat. “I mean. If you do. Give me a week’s notice. So I can mentally prepare. Or maybe just… take me with you next time.”
Your laughter was loud enough that a few interns turned to look. Hyunjin didn’t even mind. He was just happy to hear that sound again. To see your post-its appear one by one around his office. To have his coffee taste right and his schedule make sense and his thoughts stop spiraling every time he walked past your desk.
Maybe it was inappropriate. Maybe it was bordering on ridiculous how much he’d missed you. But when he caught your eye later that afternoon and you gave him that small smile the one you reserved for private jokes and quiet moments he realized something.
The office wasn’t the only thing that felt out of sync without you. He was, too.
And now that you were back, the world made sense again.
Even Gerald.
Kind of.

okay. idk who reiji is — but why are you right 😳

(first of all, thank you for providing a direct visualization JDDHDHDH 😭💙)
Before I tell ya who he is, I gotta break down what the blue thing is all about because—basically his chosen color for his character / merch etc. *is* blue, so that's why it's extra heartbreaking since it wasn't too far out the realm of possibilities, him having dark blue hair instead of dark purple 🥺 some artists do give him blue-ish hair in fanart though, and I can hear an angel cry every-time.
OKAY — Reiji Sakamaki. He's from an otome series, "Diabolik Lovers," that also has other media tied to it, such as an anime, volumes of manga, and a FULL catalogue of CD dramas / songs that I've still gotta seriously catch up on 🥸
The series itself is not for the faint of heart though—most of the love interests are vampires, Reiji included, most of whom (cannot speak for Kino since I still know too little about him) have a "my whole personality is a trauma response" sort of thing going on, due to the circumstances of their upbringings.
So as a result, they're not just red flag love interests — they're INFRAred flags, due to their potent danger as (mostly) vampires, and general mental instability. Now, back to Reiji—one of my personal favorites uwu the rest of this post will be a full-on ramble, and I will NOT apologize for that 😈
His character just MELTS me every-time because, speaking for myself as an autistic person, I've grown up so used to masking often that, I kinda felt connected to Reiji in that regard.. like even with how standoff-ish he can be, I love how freaken wholesome his taste in partners is—just someone who puts him first is his true bare minimum. That combined with his intense self-reliance (something else I relate to—) AAAAAH!!! 🫠
These are some of my favorite manga moments from his route 🥺
And I really appreciate you sending me this ask because it gives me the perfect opportunity to touch on something I've been meaning to share/put light upon in my own words, that I find really interesting about his character—
On the flip side of his bare minimum, his deal-breaker is becoming too entangled with his brother Shu, specifically—it'd be a lot to get into here, but the tl;dr is that Reiji deeply resents Shu for being their mother's favored son, of the two she had (them) simply because Shu was older, and that's on top of Shu not wanting any of what came with that full attention on him (and seldom any towards Reiji, unless it was to discuss supporting Shu as the birthright heir to their father's throne, who is the closest thing to Dracula you'll have in this series, to put in my filthy casual terms).
Since it was the only game I've played in full (so far), I'll just discuss everyone within the context of what happened in Haunted Dark Bridal (HDB). But yeah, he's truly the boogeyman of Shu's route—
On the worst ending (Brute), Reiji kills Shu.
On the moderate ending (Manservant), he almost gets away with killing Yui (the heroine/who you play as in the games).

On the best ending (Vampire), you run away with Shu—I honestly think a large factor leading to this (as it's Shu who decided upon it first), is that he can tell what would happen if y'all didn't KSBSHSJSJD 🥸
But yes, the thing I've been thinking about lately, of Reiji—on his route, in none of his endings would he ever consider killing Yui/MC, which cannot be said for all the LIs (no shade here—some of my other faves would 🤪) yet, the minute Shu's in the picture, all bets are off. That's another thing I've found very interesting about Reiji's mindset, like—he WOULD kill Yui/MC easily, but not unless she was into him, and ONLY if she was into Shu.
Before I continue, because I'm just now coming back to this while proofreading what I wrote here.. he technically would, but the circumstance that led up to it (Yui/MC stumbling upon some of his private documents, and then reading some of it out of an innocent curiosity, which he caught her doing) is something *I* wouldn't of done personally, which is why I often forget that very much happened, but yeah. 🥸 Since I tend to self/sona ship with the characters I like, I've yet to discover a scenario he would kill *me* for, outside of Shu, is what I'm trying to convey here.
Even though Reiji's deadly sin is Envy, it is only directed so intensely towards Shu—for a motif such as the seven deadly sins, that're usually seen more often if a character is meant to reflect one like he is, he doesn't care that much if Yui/MC chose literally anyone else.
ah, what else can I say.. the best way I could describe falling for Reiji is like taking a portal gun, with each portal then asking whether or not if he is warm-hearted deep down, or just cold to the core without Yui/MC.
and I guess I'd be alright with either answer.. uwu 🌸
#his closest l*tg match is lucas—I KNOW‚ SJSHSBSBSH 😭🥸#loved how i took the “idk who reiji is” as an in to infodump PLEASE 😭😭😭💀#also sorry i got to this so late—i've gotten a little caught up recently in a self-imposed jam‚ but i'm aight 😎#reiji sakamaki#sakamaki reiji#diabolik lovers#my analyses

Obey me scenario...
WARNING: this is a very long ramble so if y'all don't like rambles, skip this uhh post. Also it's quite self-indulgent. Actual ramble under the cut. Also this is not proofread so there may or may not be typos.
Where the MC goes by a different name depending on who they're introducing themself to.
Like for example, the MC obviously has a birth name right? (Like one assigned to them by their parents and is used by family and human classmates). But what if they chose to use a nickname/alternate name to introduce themself to future/current acquaintances?
Like if I were to use myself as an example, let's say that my "actual/parent assigned name" is Blossom. And so my human realm classmates and family call me "Blossom". But for online friends and acquaintances/friends I make in future, I go by "Bloss"? (It could also be because they don't speak my language and usually pronounce it slightly inaccurately which IS NOT their fault but it would make their lives easier to have them refer to me as "Bloss").
And MC gets so used to using their "other/nickname" that when they get kidnap transported into the Devildom and they gotta state their name, by habit their nickname slips out of their mouth? And technically speaking it is indeed a name they go by? Maybe because they feel more comfortable using this nickname instead of their "actual/real name"?
Now we know that Diavolo hates being lied to and has the power to tell lies from truth to back it up, so do you think he'll think the human is lying deliberately? Or would his aura turn more threatening and serious and ask for their real name? I personally feel like I'll piss all of them off if I were to meet them for the first time. Why? Take a look below to see how the convo would've gone:
Diavolo: Welcome to the Devildom. I am Diavolo, the Crown Prince. How should we address you?
MC: Please call me (insert nickname) (absolutely natural but debating whether or not it would count as a valid answer)
Lucifer and Barbatos: ...
Diavolo: ... That is not your real name now is it? It would not do you any good to lie. (Aura probably turns threatening but his customer service smile is still present, most likely assuming that MC has a dishonest purpose for concealing their "real name" aka name given by parents)
MC: Your Highness, with all due respect, that is indeed a name. I have fulfilled your request, and it is indeed one that I go by and have gone by for quite a while now. ("You only asked for a name to refer to me by, you never asked for the one I was given since childhood." Would probably be added in their head. It would not do for them to spit something so...snarky and potentially rude out. They are in unknown territory and an unfamiliar environment after all. Holding their tongue here would be more advantageous)
Now assuming that they accepted, should MC decide to reveal their name.later, would it bring a lot of trouble paperwork-wise? They've been writing this name on all of their assignments, their Devildom ID displays their nickname, and all of the official documents are signed with this alias. Or perhaps when they've grown fond of the sacrificial little lamb, they will allow them to suddenly change their names via a short notice to all academic lecturers? As for their Identification Card and personal documents, the card will be updated/changed (either via magic or by getting a replacement) and the documents will have a note/update stating their real name?
Of course, if the MC is comfortable with only their newfound family (the constituent characters are naturally chosen by you, my dear reader) using their real name, then those with said honour will guard it with their lives. For those that are prone to slipping up, they will perhaps flounder a little and give the excuse of confusing the sheep with someone else (yes Mams my darling I'm looking at you). For Levi I think he'll continue to refer to MC as Henry anyways but then again it depends on your personal HCs.
For those in the cast but are not chosen to be the MC's super close ones, perhaps they'll be a little confused should anyone slip up while they are around. Cue more floundering until perhaps it gets out, but you know the cast's mouths are shut, so tightly they'll put gorilla glue to shame.
So worry not, your real name won't be slipping out to the RAD public. Despite what I mentioned about Mams earlier, you know he will guard your precious name like dragons with treasure. And he'll do admittedly one of the best jobs out of the cast.
Now assuming that they do not accept that reasoning, it could go two (for what I can think of now) ways.
1) MC continues debating.
Given Lucifer's displeasure, he would most likely chide the MC for their rudeness and Barbatos would, with a chilly smile, advise them not to use up all their chances. The brothers on the sidelines may whisper a bit between themselves but will not interfere since it's not like they'll save a random human stranger from their Prince and risk being on the receiving end of the wrath of the Fantastic Trio (if you know where this is from, you know *wink wonk* sorry, couldn't resist using this .... Interesting group name.)
When it gets to a very bad point where MC is perhaps dishing out their reasoning with possibly an annoyed tone by now, they will have to bet or hope. Hope that Diavolo would be magnanimous enough to allow them to use their alias down here and accept their alias as the name they go by since he can confirm the genuine discomfort they have with using their "actual name" and spot nearly no lies in the reasons they offered.
But if Lucifer and Barbatos happen to get a little iffy before their Prince gets mad, MC will have to bet that they would not jeopardise this exchange program by hurting them in any way or exchanging them for another human.
Or for those beyond the fourth wall, get rid of this exchange student they've selected, either out of rage or annoyance or for convenience and success, reset the timeline or make another timeline the sole reality and pick another exchange student. Basically MC will have to bet on their value and importance to the exchange program and bet that Diavolo would care enough about having stains or guilt/reminders on what he had done to the MC (if he were to smite them or wipe them out for the safety of his kingdom cuz he suspects that they have ulterior motives for hiding their name) because most royals don't.
But then again they have magic so should things come down to it they may just erase MC's memories and send them back to the human realm unsuspectingly, choose another human and move on.
Also, who's to say that Diavolo didn't have Barbatos look through the timelines and pick the one which goes most successfully before bringing MC down? (Yes, fanfictions expanding on the aftermath of Lesson 16 have been getting to my head and giving me a lot of ideas and scenarios)
Diavolo is the Crown Prince. Acting ruler of a whole kingdom. There is no way he would be willing to toss an uncertain factor into the equation without knowing the future. If I had the power / someone with the power to look into the future freely without much repercussions (on my kingdom that is and preferably the person but the priority is on the kingdom), I would use those powers to see how my plans go, especially since my citizens and my kingdom, my responsibility and the burden I have to shoulder alone, albeit sparingly.
But ultimately as a ruler, one's responsibilities come before one's emotions. It's the price they have to pay for the immense wealth and safety they were born with. With so many lives resting on his hands, there is no way a ruler as benevolent but also smart, intelligent (terrifyingly so), cunning and manipulative (I mean that as a compliment cuz those are what a ruler should have, to use it for good ofc don't get me wrong) as Diavolo would not take "cheat a little" and look at the answer to the question (like those reference/practice question books that yall's parents buy for you when huge examinations are near. Just me? Aight then—)
Anyways, the route honestly depends on what y'all choose/think/headcanon. I'm just adding a drop into the ocean in hopes that any writers will write a piece on this or perhaps expand on my idea or something. I would do it but I don't trust myself to serve or deliver, not when I know some in the fandom have repeatedly left absolutely no crumbs. (Yes I'm a Gen Z I just don't use slangs often don't @ me—)
2) MC begrudgingly accepts the use of their real name.
That's all for now, may add more/ a Part 2 of inspiration decides to pull a Truck-kun and isekai me somehow.

Adding to the well-deserved pile of thanks for your detailed posts about the Mata vs. Avianca cases! It provided a lot of legal context I had no idea even existed (like I thought I had a general idea how the Circuit courts and Appeals courts worked, but I had no idea about persuasive vs binding decisions!).
I know the notary issue isn’t particularly interesting at this point, but from a technical perspective (forgive me if someone already has noted this):
1. 99% certain the 25+h thing isn’t a technological error. That’s just a plain old typo. Fanciest thing that could have happened there is someone was trying to use a keyboard shortcut to automatically make the ‘th’ a superscript and messed it up.
2. They would have had to manually fixed it, or Word’s Spelling & Grammar caught it and they just accepted the new suggestion (sometimes Word will autocorrect, but generally that’s only when you’re typing, not after the fact). Guessing why they later fixed it and not the month was because it was pointed out by Word when someone was reviewing it (which means they didn’t spell check their doc before printing it the first time, good job guys).
3. The reason it has a print date before a creation date is most likely because it’s a copy of the original file. The creation date was overwritten when it was made, but the print date field wasn’t overwritten for the new copy. (It could also be a restored copy of an older version; Word saves the data of previous versions, which can be restored as a new document.)
4. Most likely it was copied because they were putting their files in a shared drive for the Professional Responsiblity Laywers. I’d bet money that tempuser1 is one of them, because they’d have to have given them access to the firm’s Microsoft365 instance to collaborate on documents.
[insert ‘that was a mystery that didn’t need solved.jpg’ here]
Thank you again for the coverage and sharing your knowledge! 💜
Oh! Oh! That all makes a lot of sense - especially the autocorrect! I mean, we can't know for sure, but it sounds extremely plausible (based on everything else we've seen from Schwartz) that he just caught the typo because Word pointed out, didn't bother to proofread the month (or anything else) because it wasn't, technically, a typo, and then printed without saving the corrected typo.
That was a mystery that maybe didn't need to be solved, but I'm very glad you did! Thank you!

How to Formulate a PhD Thesis: A Comprehensive Guide
It takes years of research, tough analysis, and academic perseverance. Your PhD thesis is a comprehensive documentation of your expertise in a certain field, original knowledge contributions, and a testament to your scholarly capabilities. It is, however, rather challenging to formulate a PhD thesis. This blog breaks it up into manageable steps to enable you to craft a well-structured and impactful thesis.
1. Understand the Point of a PhD Thesis
This is the first step in attempting to understand the technical details of a PhD thesis, which is not just summarizing your research but creating an argument that answers the question or problem in your field of study. A good PhD thesis should:
Establish a research gap.
Present original findings.
Have a justification for the applied methodology.
Contribute to the body of knowledge in a meaningful way.
Having clarity on these goals will guide your approach throughout the process.
2. Choose the Right Topic
Selecting a thesis topic is one of the most critical decisions in your PhD journey. Here are some pointers to keep in mind:
Relevance: Ensure the topic is aligned with your research interests and contributes to the field.
Feasibility: Assess the availability of resources, data, and time to complete your research.
Innovation: Aim for a unique angle or perspective that fills a gap in existing knowledge.
Passion: A PhD is a long-term commitment; pick a topic that excites and motivates you.
3. Conduct a Literature Review
A thorough literature review lays the foundation for your thesis. It involves analyzing existing studies, identifying gaps, and situating your research within the broader academic discourse. Follow these steps:
Search and Select Sources: Use academic databases like PubMed, JSTOR, or Scopus to find relevant articles, books, and papers.
Organize Findings: Group studies based on themes, methodologies, or findings.
Identify Gaps: Highlight areas where research is lacking or inconsistent.
Pose a Research Questions: Refine your topic in response to these gaps.
4. State Your Argument Clearly-Thesis
A thesis is a clearly argumentative claim that gives way to and sustains the research, with being as concise and specific as possible. Good and Bad:
Weak: "Climate change is an issue."
Strong: "The potential impact of policy in developing world urban planning policies on helping mitigate climate change has thus been vastly overlooked.
Your thesis statement is a guide for the reader, and therefore must reflect the very essence of your research.
5. Organize Your Thesis
A structured thesis is readable and easy to understand. Most PhD theses adhere to the following general outline:
Introduction
Present the research problem and its importance.
Explain the aims and scope of your work.
Briefly state the structure of the thesis.
Literature Review
Summarize existing research.
Critique existing research.
Identify gaps that your study addresses.
Methodology
Describe the research design, methods, and tools.
Justify your methodological choices.
Results
Report findings clearly, using tables, graphs, or charts where appropriate.
Results should be relevant to your research questions.
Discussion
Interpret the results in the context of your field.
Compare your findings with other literature.
Discuss limitations and future research.
Limitations and future research are to be discussed.
Conclusion
Summarize key findings and their implications.
Emphasize the novelty of your work contributions.
6. Write and Revise
Writing a thesis takes time. Here are few tips to make the job easier:
Milestones: Divide the thesis into sections and set deadlines for each.
Schedule Writing Time: Commit regular times to writing, such as 300 words per day.
Ask Your Supervisor or Peers for Feedback: Go through drafts with them with constructive criticism.
Proofread Relentlessly: Focus on coherence, grammar, and formatting.
7. Be Perfect in Formatting and Referencing
Formatting and referencing should strictly follow institutional standards. Utilize End, Mendeley, or Zotero to keep your citations organized. Use font size, spacing, headings, and numbering consistently.
**8. Get Ready for the Defense
Your thesis defense is your opportunity to demonstrate expertise. Practice speaking about your research clearly and confidently. Prepare for questions and come up with great responses. A well-structured thesis will speak for itself during the defense.
Conclusion
Formulating a PhD thesis is a challenging yet rewarding journey. By choosing a relevant topic, conducting a thorough literature review, and maintaining a structured approach, you can craft a thesis that stands out. Remember, perseverance and adaptability are key. Seek guidance when needed, stay organized, and trust in your abilities. Good luck on your academic endeavor!

an honest review of the star chapter: sanctuary purely from musical observation (not proofread because i'll post the proofread on rym n aoty)
opening remarks: jeez, november is a treat for me who writes for all the groups i'll be writing for, innit? hi! long time no speak. i've been busy with stuff that i'll be elaborating on later tomorrow but it's comeback time~ and the first up will be txt.
with the scandal that embroiled hybe starting from the hybe vs mhj, the assembly with the department of labor investigating hybe where new jeans' hanni being there, the numerous investigation on hybe regarding downplaying album sales so they don't increase their cost and the damning internal documents that leaked out about hybe "gossiping" the industry, including their own artists, also the news of the full ot7 bts comeback to 2026. txt's comeback can definitely be presumed as some sort of cover-up for hybe by their third largest boy group (bts doing military service, svt is starting to do theirs also). this definitely shows by how "budgeted" the concept photos look, especially with the lover concept that felt too different.
i was also under the understanding that yeonjun's mixtape was even longer than ggum (cause mixtape implies that there is one more track ala agust d's soundcloud mixtapes), so color me confused when i saw that txt is coming back around the time where the cyj mixtape was supposed to come out and they're competing for moa's money honestly. nonetheless, we enter a new era of txt: the star chapter. i like how they come full circle with using "star" as their debut ep is the dream chapter: star, makes me feel that time has gone by so fast that txt is already 5 years going. i also like the concept names for each album, combining pretty much all sides of txt such as the knight, lover, angel, and savior. with this tho and the star recall, i expect more of the isekai-ed type of songs that txt used to make from the dream chapter era. it's interesting to see the trajectory of txt as more of this softer masculine side compared to their other "harsher"-mature sounding counterparts of 4th gen like ateez or stray kids.
first impression: NO SONGS ABOVE 3 MINUTES?! that's a huge minus. 6 song in an ep with the length not even reaching 15 minutes. what is happening? why are they so short? are they really banking on remixes for this cause i already see an extended ep for this. this is actually a bad sentiment that i have with current pop music honestly. what bighit (and hybe) is trying to do is to profit from releasing many singles of the main singles into remixes, banking on the fans who "will always support their idols" to stream it, so that it can get higher in the charts. this is a predatory practice with the likes of taylor swift doing this for her ttpd. and i hate it. it convolutes their discography with a bunch of crap and relinquishes the authenticity of an artist creating art. sigh...
okay, with that tangent out of the way. let's listen!
1.heaven: i do think that they're trying to do a i'll see you there tomorrow by making the guitar strumming vaguer in rhythm, like making you confused about where is the downbeat before you can hear the percussion part in the verse. i also feel like the beat is faster in the chorus. i do think it is much like a text-painting situation where the drumbeat represents heartbeat and how when we move between verse and chorus it represents how your heartbeat is getting faster by confessing that when you are with them, it feels like heaven.
in technicality, the main melody/jingle of this song is very catchy. i like that we can distinguish easily between the member's voices. tho, i do think the vocal mixing can be repaired because there is an awkward jump in decibels between the intro to yeonjun singing. i also think that because the members sing in falsetto in the chorus, with this vocal mix, they sound a bit too compressed. also, gosh, the fact that this song is under 2 minutes yet is begging to be resolved with a bridge before the last chorus. gosh, that cut-off at the end is so disappointing cause i would like the guitar part in the intro to be in the bridge like they're serenading me more with sweet words. totally disappointed.
2.over the moon: okay, wow~ that was unsatisfactory.
when the first sets of synth chords started, this song reminded me of treasure's my treasure. so i expected a much more grandiose type of song kind of like gfriend before being under hybe (rough, sunrise, time for the moonnight). interestingly, they decide to move into an rnb-esque inspiration for the sound with a little bit of influence of (i guess) funk cause i can hear some stevie wonder inspiration from it with the bass line and how the chorus is shaped. i also hear a bit of early the boyz in the chorus think giddy up or right here.
but do i think that this is a main title track? no and this is the first i felt this over a txt title track. maybe it comes down to how short it seems without the bridge, but both sugar rush ride and deja vu still sound like a title track even without bridges. that is, i think, because both songs have an accentuated outro where you know that the song is ending but in this song, the end is just... a trail of the second chorus. it also lacks the grit i identify from txt title tracks. i always believe that txt title track has this sort of epicness or spectacle to it. comparing this to blue hour which has nearly the same brightness in sound, blue hour still has some sense of spectacle to it, especially in regards to the structure of the song that can include the dance break.
overall, i do believe that this sounded more like a b-side that you promote alongside a title track instead of being the title track...
3.danger: this song felt more complete than over the moon even if it is shorter. i do think that it is more in the structure of it that makes it fuller.
other than that, the third song is in and i can already figure out a funk/rnb sound between the three songs. so i hoped that it stayed that way. when i heard the guitar, i thought it would be a more rock song like growing pains but i realized this is more of those michael jackson-esque 80s soft rock songs. i also love how they used the vocals in the song, from the whisper lower voice to the whoop in the higher end of the voice with taehyun. definitely makes me believe that it is a somewhat michael jackson homage.
i do think that the song is too droning cause the bass line and guitar line never change. the addition and subtraction of the synth creating the dynamic in the song. a much more interesting song imo especially since i personally am listening to a lot of early 80s rock now like talking heads with its quirkiness. also, i'm not surprised that beomgyu is involved with this song cause the more adventurous a txt rock song seems, it's more likely that beomgyu is there *thumbs up*
4.resist (not gonna run away): now this is a teasing type of song.
i like the use of acoustic guitar and percussions here. you can feel that it runs in the same sound such as the killa and tinnitus, but a bit more upbeat. i describe this song as teasing cause this song craves for a huge beat drop with heavy bass. but i do think that it is the somewhat charm of the song as it relates to the lyric of the song of "i can't resist". it creates a certain cat-and-mouse type of feeling when hearing this song, especially with the sparse sound of it that focuses on the higher range of the eq and the 2:15 run time. the vocal is good but i still think that the higher range of the voice is a bit compressed and it especially can be heard here where the vocal is mostly in falsettos. taehyun's falsettos is addicting
5. forty-one winks: whoah dem jointz created a song for txt?
now this is rnb and the underlying vocoder effect makes it funky. this is also such a complete-sounding song with its structure and instrumentality. all the layers of the instruments and samples create a complete sound. i also like how the song plays around with vocal mixing, creating an underwater/telephone effect. it sounds very soft and since i see that this song is also being promoted along over the moon: a good choice for a complimentary promotional song.
kai's voice is a highlight here especially with his high notes. it has a more authenticity to it cause i do imagine that they really enjoy singing this song so props to the vocal direction as well.
6.higher than heaven: ROCK TXT!!! (well pop rock but still)
okay, this sounds a lot like every day6 august with its gritty guitar sound in a feel-good pop-rock setting. i love the text-painting of the high in the lyrics and they raise their note higher when singing it. also a song with a complete form including bridges, and i like how they didn't include the post-chorus to save it for the last chorus as it is replaced with a bridge. makes sense cause it is the longest song in the ep. but that ending is so abrupt tho if they wanna add another post-chorus/outro bar to make it more final then it will be good.
the vocal direction is good tho i do think that soobin could be better cause he seems to lack some soul in the way he sings this song. in comparison to kai and beomgyu, which i think this song suits them well so much, you can hear them enjoying this song so much.
with this song being some sort of reprise of heaven, i have to compare them. it definitely elevates from heaven and is much more subdued compared to higher's brighter, happier sound. tho, if we compare the two, i like heaven more instrumentally cause it seems much more interesting. still would love a much more encore/epilogue to the song, especially since it is the last track of the ep.
closing remarks: as an ep, i do believe that it is solid in the sense that it is more consistent in sound than i thought it would be. not as magical as i predicted but we have a thorough line between each song that can be traced to a rnb/funk sound with a bit of rock in it for both resist and higher than heaven.
as a concept album like minisode 2's 5 stages of grief, this ep tells more of the story of how a person can be a sanctuary when you love them so much. you can see how the relationship moves from the heaven intro to the higher than heaven ending and i like how it becomes. it is consistent in concept and tracklist, even in sound which is getting pretty rare knowing that kpop has lot more filler tracks in a release. though there are some pitfalls.
i do believe that over the moon is txt's weakest title track so far. it sounds too similar to the other tracks that it's harder to stand out. but if it stands out too much, it will make the ep sound consistent. finding that balance is hard, but i do believe that they were capable of it by making the song longer and adding a bridge. songs like heaven, over the moon, danger, and 41 winks will sound much better with a bridge/interlude in them...
final ranking:
6.over the moon (49/100): gosh what a weak song... :(
5.danger (58/100)
4.resist (60/100): pretty short song but i like the premise if you can understand its text-painting
3.41 winks(63/100): the instrumentation is unique that you don't know where this song was going when you first hear it
2.heaven (72/100): could be number one but the song is so unsatisfying, i cannot justify that
1.higher than heaven (73/100): most complete. good song to end the project, espacially w/ heaven as the opening
overall release rate: 63/100
small conclusion: gosh that is 1/3! i still have the enhypen untold repackaged and i heard that enhypen made a nct song?!?

tag and wip ask game
i was tagged by the wonderful and lovely @prince-of-elsinore -- thank you!!
Rules: Post the names of all of the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it.
Focusing on my semi-active to actively-being-written fics (and not just everything in that folder), we've got:
desiderata
folded at the edges - complete
quaecumquae vera
lesser evils part 3
the Renegade 2 point 0
As you can see, I name my files similar to the fic names themselves. Or more accurately, I often rename my document to the working/actual title of the fic once I foreclose on a title. Or, alternately, name a file as what the fic is about, like "possession fic" being the filename for "like a ghost with two voices". I also marked "folded at the edges" as "complete" for editing purposes since i'm hoping to finish proofreading and get it up in the next day.
these are all supernatural fics (and i'm happy to answer questions about them here or on @dyed-red), but my mostly-stagnant coldflash folder technically/sorta also has:
mighty fine predicament
to ensnare the senses
But alas, my coldflash readers who know me at @coldtomyflash know that it's been quite a while since i touched these ^^;

any tips on how to be motivated in doing thesis? or just any general, helpful tips. thank you! <3
Hi !! I had fun doing our thesis so I feel I might ramble a bit here, haha +++ this is a very long read so I'll list it down w bold key points blue if u dont want to read d whole thing – most of these are the things my team did, I hope this is of help !!
sorry for the delay w my response, I thought about this for days so I could be more helpful hehe
first, idk if you're doing a solo or partnered or group thesis but if you have a partner or group, getting along really well with the team + having mutual understanding can make the whole process smooth. my groupmates are my close friends (we're 6 in the group and i love them dearly) and everything went smoothly because we're aware how, for example, i hate cramming and love scheduling + doing things in advance, so all of us agreed to do things in advance but with a time period of 1-2 weeks depending on the heaviness of task (related lit is long so we did that 2 weeks minimum)
do not procrastinate and cram = love scheduling. following my first point, i made a time table for our group and i was the secretary/assistant leader so i made it a point to follow up every now and then and kept the deadlines pinned in our chat. since we had a system, we never crammed and since all of us also loves to do things now for longer chill days, we were never late for a deadline and just waited for our prof to ask for outputs since there were no fixed deadlines.
pick a topic you and your team is very interested in + relevant to today's society/generation + your major. all of us had very good topic proposals since each of us had to pitch at least one topic and we chose to do a study on telemedicine for chronic respiratory disease patients – very timely, interesting and relevant to our generation + our major ofc. we were very invested in this study :)
love reading, love your study and the process. this makes things SUPER easy. a little segwey but i did my junior internship under occupational therapy and loved the patients (majority were stroke patients) and one of them, when my intern asked what advice to give me since i want to become a doctor/hcp, he was a doctor and he told me to "isapuso" (take in heart/love) what i will be studying and doing and that's what i did with our thesis + my major. Makes everything easier ♡ oh and also since thesis needs loads of reading, the more you love your topic, the more you'll just automatically read on it regardless whether you're doing your related lit at the moment or not. i still read on telemedicine till now
have one in your team to be the one in charge of formatting and one for references. this seems very minor but it helps prevent unwanted headaches especially if there's a bunch of you in the group so the document won't be altered much as you work and would have a much more consistent formatting for both
ethics committee can be a pain in waiting both in uni and if ever you want to conduct your study based on a hospital. our uni ethics takes a week while hospitals take over 2 weeks to over a month to approve your request/s. best to also assign 2 people on ethics-related things since i think we filled out 5 documents the whole thesis period to submit to ethics. however, during the waiting process or even before submitting, make revisions and consult with your research adviser and/or other profs knowledgeable on your topic + our best decision was to consult the head of the uni research. though we had to revise our title + changes in the whole paper, as a result of consulting w profs n head, we were able to get the best result we could hope for !!
review your paper every now and then because there are technical and content-wise revision you won't notice at first and second time you proofread your paper. in addition, if working in a group, have your groupmates check on your work afterwards no matter how confident you are with it — this helps them study on your part/s and see corrections you weren't able to. double, triple, quadruple checking's not bad. It's very helpful.
this is ironic since thesis is a major task but: don't stress and don't put too much pressure on yourself. personally this was very helpful because it clears your mind, especially before defense and can help you think of the possible questions the panelists might ask and you yourself would be able to deliver your parts better + be the one to figure out the loopholes you missed (so idk but in our case before the panel pointed out our loophole, we were the ones who brought it up and already had a defense on it and stuff) and it makes the whole defense process shorter, smoother. just make sure to take notes on the loopholes, possible qs, panel qs and recommendations and not dwell on the anxiety (there will always be a percentage of it in u) you have in your body while they're asking stuff, hahaha
sleep early before defense days !!! i sleep latest 11 for these and go to dunkin near uni at 5 or 6am to study up for the defense, no matter if the defense is at 8 or 10. you can nap peacefully after + the morning auras can help calm your nerves
ran out of ideas but i believe you can do this !! thesis might sound intimidating and scary but i hope you don't let it get to you. you can have a stress-free thesis making period as long as you really like your study (as i mentioned), trust and have confidence both in you and your team, be very diligent to get rest and whenever you get time to. if you feel overwhelmed, step back and take a walk even just for 5 minutes, it makes a whole difference. I'm not sure what drives you – awards, grades, feeling of fulfillment... and I don't know what field your in but trust that your study can help make an impact no matter how you think it's "too simple" in comparison to those making apps (in my case, but no shade to the other contestants in the research competition, i was very proud of my fellow respi students regardless whether we're competitors or not that time).
To put emphasis for boost: you are great. you will do great on your thesis despite everything and convert pessimism to optimism !! its not naive, it can get you through anything if you broaden your outlook 🤍

Why Is Legal Proofreading Important?
Precision and accuracy are paramount in the realm of law. Legal professionals handle crucial documents that can have far-reaching consequences for individuals, businesses, and society. Legal proofreading plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and credibility of legal documents. This article delves into the significance of legal proofreading, its benefits, and the potential repercussions of overlooking this vital step.
1. Accuracy and clarity
Legal documents are complex, often containing intricate legal jargon and technical terms. One small error in these documents can change the entire meaning, leading to misunderstandings, disputes, or even legal battles. Legal proofreading helps to identify and rectify spelling mistakes, grammar errors, typographical blunders, and inconsistencies, ensuring the content is accurate and easily understandable to all parties involved.
2. Preserving legal integrity
Legal proofreading preserves the integrity of legal documents and ensures that they comply with the applicable laws, regulations, and standards. By meticulously reviewing legal contracts, agreements, court pleadings, and other documents, lawyers and legal professionals can avoid discrepancies and inaccuracies that could jeopardize the legitimacy and enforceability of the documents.
3. Avoiding costly mistakes
The legal arena is not immune to the consequences of errors. A misplaced comma or a misinterpreted clause can lead to costly litigations, contract disputes, and other legal troubles. Legal proofreading acts as a safeguard against these potential pitfalls, reducing the risk of errors and the need for time-consuming and expensive revisions later on.
4. Protecting reputation and trust
Law firms, corporations, and legal practitioners build their reputation on their ability to deliver accurate and reliable legal services. A poorly proofread document can undermine its credibility, causing clients to lose trust and seek representation elsewhere. On the other hand, a well-proofread document showcases professionalism and attention to detail, bolstering the trust between the legal professional and their clients.
5. Avoiding ambiguity
Ambiguity in legal documents can have far-reaching consequences. Unclear or vague language can lead to varying interpretations by different parties involved. By thoroughly proofreading the document, legal professionals can eliminate ambiguity and ensure that the document leaves no room for misinterpretation.
6. Consistency and uniformity
In complex legal cases or contracts, consistency and uniformity are essential to avoid potential contradictions within the document. Proofreading helps maintain a consistent tone, style, and format throughout the document, making it easier to navigate and comprehend.
7. Compliance with court rules
Court systems often have strict rules and guidelines for the formatting and presentation of legal documents. Legal proofreading ensures that the documents adhere to these rules, preventing any procedural delays or rejections.
8. Protection against legal malpractice
Legal malpractice claims can arise from errors or negligence in legal representation. By performing thorough proofreading, attorneys can minimize the risk of overlooking critical information or inaccuracies that could lead to malpractice claims.
9. Enhancing professionalism
Attention to detail is a hallmark of professionalism. Legal proofreading reflects a commitment to excellence and professionalism in the legal field. Lawyers who diligently proofread their work demonstrate a higher level of dedication to their clients and the pursuit of justice.
Legal proofreading is a meticulous process that safeguards the accuracy, credibility, and reliability of legal documents. Through legal proofreading, legal professionals uphold their reputation, build trust with clients, and avoid costly mistakes that can have severe consequences. As legal cases and documents continue to shape the course of society, investing time and effort into proper proofreading remains a crucial aspect of the legal profession.

What Is Content Writing? A Complete Beginner’s Guide
Introduction to Content Writing
In today's digital-first world, businesses and brands need more than just a product or service to thrive—they need quality content that communicates, educates, and converts. That’s where content writing comes into play. From website pages to blog posts, product descriptions to social media captions, content writing forms the backbone of online communication.
Whether you're a budding entrepreneur, digital marketer, or aspiring writer, understanding the fundamentals of content writing is the first step toward building influence and driving engagement online. In this guide, we’ll explore what content writing is, why it matters, and how to do it effectively.
Why Content Writing Matters in Digital Marketing
Content writing isn’t just about putting words on a page—it’s about delivering the right message to the right audience at the right time. Effective content writing enhances your brand visibility, strengthens SEO, and nurtures trust with potential customers.
In fact, high-quality content writing can help increase search engine rankings, bring consistent traffic to your site, and convert casual browsers into loyal buyers. With Google prioritizing helpful and original content in its algorithms, businesses can no longer afford to neglect this powerful marketing tool.
What Exactly Is Content Writing?
The Definition
Content writing refers to the process of planning, writing, and editing web content—primarily for digital marketing purposes. It includes blog posts, articles, landing pages, product descriptions, press releases, social media posts, email newsletters, and more.
The Purpose
The main goals of content writing are to inform, engage, persuade, and ultimately convert. Unlike traditional writing, content writing is reader-focused and typically tailored to match user intent and SEO guidelines.
Types of Content Writing
1. Blog Writing
Used to educate or inform audiences about specific topics. Blogs help drive organic traffic and establish authority.
2. SEO Writing
Crafted with keyword research and search engine algorithms in mind, SEO writing aims to improve a website’s visibility on search engines.
3. Copywriting
A form of content writing focused on advertising and sales. It’s persuasive in nature and often used in landing pages or ads.
4. Technical Writing
Explains complex information in simple terms, often used for manuals, how-tos, and documentation.
5. Social Media Content
Short, catchy, and shareable content written for platforms like Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
Skills Required for Effective Content Writing
1. Strong Grammar and Language Skills
Clear, error-free writing ensures your message is easily understood.
2. Research Abilities
Good content writers back up their statements with facts, stats, and examples.
3. SEO Knowledge
Understanding how to incorporate keywords, meta tags, and headings is vital for visibility.
4. Creativity and Originality
Your content needs to stand out, even in saturated niches.
5. Adaptability
Being able to write for different audiences, tones, and platforms is a huge plus.
Steps to Write Great Content
Step 1: Understand the Audience
Identify who you are writing for—what they want, their problems, and their reading habits.
Step 2: Keyword Research
Use tools like Google Keyword Planner or SEMrush to identify search terms people are looking for.
Step 3: Create an Outline
Organize your content with headings and subheadings to ensure logical flow and clarity.
Step 4: Write Engaging Content
Use short paragraphs, active voice, and a conversational tone to keep readers engaged.
Step 5: Edit and Proofread
Check for grammar, readability, and SEO optimization before publishing.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Keyword stuffing
Writing without a clear purpose
Ignoring the target audience
Lack of structure and formatting
Plagiarism or lack of originality
Avoiding these pitfalls ensures that your content remains effective, valuable, and respected.
The Future of Content Writing
The content writing landscape continues to evolve with advances in AI, voice search, and personalized content. Writers who stay updated and adaptable will continue to be in demand. Thesis Writing Process
The 5-Step Process for Writing a Thesis: A Super Comprehensive Guide
Writing a thesis is a glorious academic moment in which perhaps the cumulative outcome of four years of study and research is being produced. While intimidating as a thought, however, it breaks down into pragmatic steps that ensure clarity and efficiency, and a polished final product. This blog publishes a comprehensive guide on a 5-step process to guide you through your thesis journey.
Step 1: Select and Refine Your Research Topic One first step in writing a dissertation is to select a topic of interest to you, relevant to your academic interest, career objectives, and the study area. Write down general ideas that interest you as well as are applicable to your field of study. Begin preliminary research into your selected ideas.
Narrow the Focus: A narrow, well-defined research question is easier to manage and is more meaningful than an open-ended one. It can be related that a broad topic like "Climate Change" is better narrowed down to be, "The Effects of Renewable Policies towards Reducing Carbon Emissions in Urban Areas."
Step 2: Do a Thorough Research
Having a topic in mind, proceed with research. Research is essentially collecting and synthesizing information that will lead to an excellent grounding for your thesis.
Primary vs. Secondary Sources: Mix primary sources, like experiments, surveys, or interviews, with secondary ones, like journal articles, books, or reports.
Take Notes: Use Zotero or End with the collection of references and systematic notes.
Critical Evaluation: Examine your sources critically to determine if they relate to and support your thesis question and are appropriate to your topic. Maintain a journal of interesting ideas, major findings, and citations as you conduct research. This will facilitate the writing process later on. --- ### Step 3: Thoroughly Give It a Good Framework A good thesis is also well-structured. Before you begin writing, draft a rough outline of your work to ensure it will be orderly.
Introduction: State your research question, objectives and the reasons why your study holds its importance. \
Literature Review: Summarize and critique previous studies to pinpoint what is unique in your study. \
Methodology: Discuss the methods and tools that you used to carry on your research. \
Results and Discussion: Present your findings, analyze them and relate to your research question. Conclusion: Summarize major findings and say what they imply, and indicate future avenues for research.
This road-map achieves proper flow and coherence for both the writer and the reader.
Core Sections First: Prepare methodology, results and discussion first because such parts are often the core sections of your thesis.
Be Clear; Be Concise: Avoid using jargons unless unavoidable and define technical terms to reach more audiences.
Get Feedback: Share drafts with your advisor or peers in order to get constructive feedback.
Edit Ruthlessly: Review for clarity, grammar, and coherence. Tools like Grammarly and Hemingway Editor can help polish your writing.
Set daily or weekly writing goals to maintain steady progress.
Step 5: Finalize and Defend
Prepare your thesis for submission and defense.
Formatting and Citation: Format according to your institution's guidelines on the formatting, citation, and referencing. Double-check everything for consistency.
Proofread: Read through the document at least three or four times for spotting typos, inconsistencies in formatting, or other mistakes. You might consider hiring a professional proofreader to help you out.
Practice Presentation and Q&A: Rehearse your presentation a number of times. Think about questions that may be presented to you by the panel. Be prepared to back up your statements with evidence and speak assertively regarding the research.
The day you defend your dissertation is the day to celebrate all the hard work and achievement made until then. . Conclusion Writing a thesis is quite demanding but highly rewarding for it tests your critical thinking abilities, researching, and the skill to write. If you break down these steps to the choosing of the topic, research, structuring, writing, and finalizing, you'll be in a better position in handling the entire process. Remember that persistence and careful planning will get a thesis written that will not only demonstrate one's knowledge of the subject matter but also contribute to the field.
In fact, it takes a lot of courage to move on with this project, and these steps shall take you to it!
