SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 EPISODE 7 OF TED LASSO
Okay so this was probably my favorite episode of the season so far. I loved the theme of togetherness and family and support and aah really good.
And more TRENT MY GUY😭
Okay but now I'm going to talk about the moment that really stuck with me. And that's Ted's mustache speech.
I've seen a few people on here already talking about it and the bits where Ted says he WAS a straight man and that he possibly has a tattoo which are great details BUT we are missing the big picture.
Each Blue Collared Comedy Tour member is each Diamond Dog.
Foxworthy is clearly Ted with the basic mustache.
Larry the Cable guy is Coach Beard with the bushy goatee.
Bill Engvall is Roy with the cleaner goatee.
And Ron White(which Ted also says was his favorite 👀) is definitely and probably Trent with his clean shave.
Now you can argue in this episode that Ron White is Jaime since he's the one who also steps up to lead the team and he's also clean shaven BUT Trent was also there and while he isn't a coach he's definitely now a main face team, he shares an office with Roy and is always there at the practices. Plus since Nate left and Higgins is as active with Ted,Beard, and Roy that much anymore they're really missing a fourth member and who's there to complete the diamond? Trent Crimm.
What also solidified this idea was Trent's conversation with Ted in the end. How he spoke strategy despite not being as active. He knew all that as the observer. And Roy and Beard's reactions as well were *chef's kiss*.
So yes, I'm fine if TedTrent isn't canon. What is want now is for Trent to officially be a Diamond Dog member by the end of the season😭

I just find it really funny that episode 7 starts out with visiting all of the romantic couples: Keeley and Jack, Sam and Simi, Nate and Jade, and, of course Roy and Jamie.

2023 CHARACTER WRAPPED
i saw @ajcrowleys do this and i wanted to do my own - hopefully you don't mind!
rules: share your top 9 characters from the year (or 10. lol. i cheated)
(spoiler: mine are in no particular order except for alex who is always no. 1)
1. Alex Claremont-Diaz, RWRB
Tumblr media
(will always be my number 1 - you can pry him from my cold, soulless hands. there will never come a day when alex is not my spirit character)
2. TK Strand, 911 Lone Star
Tumblr media
(someone in the alta comments described him as a horny, bitchy tamagotchi and i died. he is the greatest feral cat to sassy husband transformation ever. don't get me started on The Hand Gesture)
3. Veronica Mars, Veronica Mars
Tumblr media
(annoy, tiny blonde one. annoy like the wind! The definition of a badass bitch)
4. Jake Seresin, Top Gun Maverick
Tumblr media
(if we wanna talk bitchy tamagotchis, here's one. he also comes in arrogant idiot and cowboy!)
5. Eli "Weevil" Navarro, Veronica Mars
Tumblr media
(this episode is my favourite episode EVER. little bit bad boy, little bit sweetheart, I can't get over the biker gang leader with the heart of gold)
6. Carlos Reyes, 911 Lone Star
Tumblr media
(i gotta say, carlos lost me a little bit in season 4, but i'll never get over the soulmates scene and he's just all around a favourite AND SO DAMN PRETTY)
7. Marjan Marwani, 911 Lone Star
Tumblr media
(marjan's episode in season 4 was - aside from 4 x 16 - my favourite episode. some of the best plot lines that season and natacha really killed it!)
8. Sam Obisanya, Ted Lasso
Tumblr media
(i watched ted lasso for the first time this year and i am just OBSESSED with this man. he's so damn sweet and true to himself. GOLD)
9. Paul Strickland, 911 Lone Star
Tumblr media
(this man is literally out here officiating weddings, solving mysteries, putting out fires and making a mean chilli. like he does THE MOST. hats off)
10. Keeley Jones (and Jamie Tartt and Roy Kent), Ted Lasso
Tumblr media
(not afraid to say i love the throuple but ALSO i just feel like all three of these characters had such beautiful arcs in ted lasso, i can't possibly choose one so i have to choose them all)
i'll open tag this one and also tag @strandnreyes @guardian-angle22 @inexplicablymine @three-drink-amy @fitzherbertssmolder @heartstringsduet @birdclowns @beautifulhigh @reyesstrand @lutavero @stereopticons @statueinthestone @apothecarose @celeritas2997 @goodways @carlos-in-glasses @theghostofashton @thebumblecee @reasonandfaithinharmony @happiness-of-the-pursuit @suseagull04 @whattarush @kiwiana-writes @alltheprettyplaces @lyhrcyrianne @st-elle-ar @fckingyrs @fuckingyrs @thisbuildinghasfeelings @tiffanymaxwels @lemonlyman-dotcom

Spoilers for season 3 episode 7 of Ted Lasso:
I am loving this season of Ted Lasso but I have a quibble.
I’m sure there are a million and five unrealistic things about football in every episode but I don’t know shit about football so that doesn’t break immersion for me.
However, my job involves small business contracts and financing (albeit in America but I’m pretty sure the basic structural things are the same) so I have to say…
It is completely impossible that Keeley and Barbara don’t know whether Jack is Keeley’s boss or not.
There are several ways that Jack (personally? a hedge fund she controls? I forget if this has been made explicit) could have funded Keeley’s business.
If the deal had been done through a business that Jack technically owns but doesn’t actively manage or isn’t actively involved in, that’s an argument for “not boss.” But I think they’ve established that Jack is personally involved.
Jack could have just handed Keeley a bunch of money in exchange for a percentage of the profits. In that case she’s an investor and definitely not Keeley’s boss.
But that’s not what happened because she installed Barbara and the rest of the team. Again, this could still be pretty hands off for Jack. Like “a condition of me giving you this money is that you use this team” but then Jack steps back.
Keeley’s business could also have been created as a subsidiary of a business of Jack’s in which case Keeley probably has some autonomy but ultimately Jack’s company has veto power on decisions.
Or Jack (or her company) could just straight up be the owner of “Keeley’s” business. In which case Jack is definitely Keeley’s boss.
In ANY of these scenarios, the amount of decision making power that Jack has would be explicitly spelled out and while “boss” or “not boss” might not be language that fits exactly, Barbara and Keeley would both be well aware of the extent to which Jack has power over Keeley. Maybe you could make an argument that Barbara understands this but Keeley does not, but I think that would be doing Keeley’s character a disservice. I guess it was sort of implied that Keeley didn’t understand the set up with Barbara and the other employees but if she really doesn’t understand the overarching structure of the deal that’s hugely problematic.
So while Jack is right that they’re both consenting adults, it’s a really different dynamic if one of those adults has the ability to take away the other’s livelihood and beloved work. And I think that information would be helpful in setting up the power dynamic that they started exploring in the last episode. But I’m going to be kind of mad if Jack’s ability to make decisions for Keeley’s business is handled as some big surprise to Keeley. She would have had to sign extensive contracts to get her business set up. They’re establishing her as a competent businesswoman who, yes, makes some mistakes. But not understanding the fundamental deal structure would be so much dumber than they’ve developed Keeley to be.
Thank you for coming to my rant.

Ted Lasso Spoilers
yo that last episode FUCKED ME UP
I cried at least 7 times. Jesus fucking Christ. Incredible portrayal of the rollercoaster of emotions, fears and bullshit people face when someone abuses something beautiful like vulnerability and pride.
Jamie being the only fucking person who GOT IT
well, and Rebecca, of course.
I was COUNTING Jack's strikes. As soon as we were on the golf course I shouted YOU'RE FUCKING OUT BITCH!
which as a queer I hated the relationship didn't work out because I was genuinely rooting for them. But Keeley deserves better, no matter the gender of the person she ends up with (if she ends up with anyone at all) she deserves someone who backs her like Rebecca and Jamie
FUCK!
I'm so heated still
also have we noticed Barbra warming up to Keeley????????? She was so upset by the 'apology' I could SEE IT
also Colin and Issac got me too. My heart dropped and then I started bawling <3 Issac is really impressing me this season
they all are
that locker room scene was SO. IMPORTANT!
#teamValjean
fuck I love this show

Ted Lasso Season 3 Review (Spoilers avoided):
Great writing involves connecting what is going on with what has gone before to give the sense it is all connected. Nostalgic writing uses call-backs as a way to illicit past feelings from previous scenes.
Ted Lasso Season 3 employs the later.
Some critics of the season have called it horrible (at least those in the British tabloid press who have very deservedly received many criticisms of their own from the series) while others have called it great. Ted Lasso Season 3 is neither.
It could have been great. I would argue it should have been great. But it was not. Ted Lasso Season 3 was good. Nothing more, nothing less.
A major issue were the storylines that were unnecessary. Leaving out one from the final episode to avoid spoilers (Kent and Tartt fans should know what I’m talking about), they are:
+Zava
+Shandy
+Jack
in that order. Strangely enough, this covers almost all of the new characters introduced this season, by which I mean those not mentioned or heard from in previous seasons.
The season also struggled with pacing and set up. No more did we see this than with Roy Kent’s personal growth (some of which was way too suitable) and where we find Ted at the end of the season. At times these changes were completely out-of-the-blue, or the set-up occurred so long ago to seem out-of-place in the moment.
That all said, I enjoyed every call back to the fullest. While it does not stand up to the incredible, amazing, and, dare I say, perfect first season, it was still good. I enjoyed the season immensely, and like previous seasons, continued to enjoy it on multiple watchings.
One of the things I loved was also what made this season problematic. This season delved into the lives of so many minor characters we’ve only seen a little bit of before. There are so many lovely characters, major and minor, in this show, and so many, especially Sam Obisanya, and it was a joy to see them grow throughout this season.
Before it began, there were debates as to whether Ted Lasso would continue after this season because 3 seasons was the original intended arc of this story. I would argue this show is not done yet, even if the story were simply continued in a spinoff series, which, in my opinion, should be named A.F.C. Richmond. Ending a show before things get stale is an honorable thing, but that’s not what has happened here. There are so many stories in Ted Lasso that haven’t finished yet. I, at least, still want to see where many of these characters will go. That’s a sign that things aren’t done yet for these characters.
Finally to the point of this review: the Gospel value. Ted Lasso, through all its ups and downs, continues to do an incredible job presenting the core and theme that has been with the show all along: Forgiveness. The power is that we start to see forgiveness being told and shared by other characters aside from Ted. We even see some battles with the devil, mostly figuratively speaking, where people struggle yet still come through, just like we do in our own lives. And, of course, we even get an episode where the voice of God gets credited as God’s Own Self!
The power of Forgiveness drives the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. It drives Ted Lasso as well. This is why so many, like myself, have fallen in love with this show. It is why it will continue to speak for years to come.
There are many characters who continue to preach and live into forgiveness. I hope, whether as a continuation of this series or a spinoff, we get to hear more of those characters’ stories in the future.
Review:
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.7/5
Gospel: ✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️/5

PLEASE share your ted/trent agenda with the world i'm intrigued by how relatively easy that would be to do in canon
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR TED LASSO UP TO CURRENT EPISODE
Alright well I’ve taken to answering recent asks as top ten lists so here’s another: Top Ten Reasons Why Ted/Trent Should Be Canon:
1. This reddit comment sums it up:
Tumblr media
It’s simply a compelling rom com(munism) plot! What’s more compelling than a journalist falling in love with the person he’s meant to report on! The ethical dilemmas! The slow realisation! Half of this arc was basically already covered in:
2. The episode 1.03 Trent Crimm The Independent. Which is perhaps the best episode of the show and I simply think perhaps we could use more of that energy. Too much Trent on screen never a bad thing unlike Beard sorry to that man and that episode
3. In the episode 2.07 Headspace Trent Crimm exits the bar with what looks to be a male date with a moustache, indicating he is both a) into men and b) moustachesexual. Actually he DOESN’T exit the bar he gets distracted by Ted and tells his date to wait outside while he saunters over to get some goss. But you get the picture.
4. Trent Crimm has a daughter but no wedding ring and APPEARED to be on a date which means it is simply not out of the realms of possibility that he is a divorced dad. Sorry to be wildly ungeneric but I simply think DivorcedDad4DivorcedDad is a great and fresh premise for a tv romance actually.
5. Ted Lasso SHOULD be at least bisexual. - Firstly because nobody on the show is officially LGBT+ and they need a Big Swing to offset how bad their representation is. (no, Disney’s 56th Gay Character adjacent grindr references by Colin isn’t enough for me and also by the way their racial politics are absolutely fucking awful. But this isn’t an ask about that.) Also because the more people get pissed off with bisexual/gay main characters that weren’t marketable or pre-warned the better. Let’s BREAK that pink and satiny ceiling— - Secondly because in the meta plot of Ted Lasso being about Jason Sudeikis recovering from his breakup with Olivia Wilde it would be funny if the answer to his existential crisis was Sucking A Man’s Dick - Thirdly about once an episode he drops some Woke JokeTM thing about another male character being handsome, AND he has a passionate love for musical theatre. Yeah I know he’s just meant to be sooooo perfect positive masculinity etc. but I personally reject Apple TV+’s cookie cutter and did-no-work Manic Pixie Dream Dad and offer this as a fun alternative.
6. My personal opinion on Ted Lasso season 2 is that daddy issues are overdone, and I don’t care about Apple TV+ going over Therapy 101. (Don’t get me wrong, I really love interior character focused therapy stuff if it’s well written! But in S2, it is not.) You know whose panic attacks I DO care about? Eddie Diaz’s comphet panic attacks on 911. Ted Lasso you could learn a thing or two from that! I’m just saying main character gay crises are fun and fresh and sexy!
Tumblr media
7. Every single look Trent Crimm gives Ted Lasso post-1.03 indicates to me he’s DEEPLY smitten despite his smug upper-class self.
8. In the most recent episode 2.11, Trent Crimm sacrifices his journalistic integrity to provide Ted with details. It’s actually embarrassing and all of twitter is on his back over ethical integrity because you NEVER give away a source etc. etc… but HE’S IN LOVE, YOUR HONOUR. In the words of his own (official) twitter:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. Ted makes Trent’s daughter cupcakes which implies a quite friendly relationship. Ted’s question in the show of ‘can I be a good father’ and ‘do I have a family I belong to’ can and should be partially answered by taking up parental care duties for his male friend’s child much like Buck 911 and Dean Supernatural—
10. There is no love interest for Ted Lasso that is remotely as compelling. Actually Trent happens to be the least problematic option on the table (other than Sassy, I guess!). (don’t @ me over this yes we KNOW a m/f relationship is going to be the endgame of Apple TV+’s flagship show if you ship ted/sharon or ted/rebecca you’re not under any threat!)

Thank you for the tag, @ryder616!
This tag game has unexpectedly led to an interesting discussion about what exactly an “Endgame Ship” means... which seems to be largely open to interpretation. I’m still not sure how I see that term, but for the purposes of this post, but to narrow it down and not mention way too many ships, I’ll take Endgame in two different meanings: for “Favorite Ship(s) That’s Endgame”, I’ll take it to mean pairings that were together and in a happy relationship at the end of the story. But for “Ship(s) You Wish Had Been Endgame”, I will take “Not Endgame” to mean that the ship was not treated as these characters’ main romance at the end of the show, or at least there was a lot of ambiguity and/or a rival ship for one or both characters was instead the current one at the end of the story. (A lot of my favorite ships have the tendency to end up unhappily in spite of being portrayed as the main romance of the story..)
Warning: this post contains spoilers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Agents of SHIELD, The Hunger Games, The Leftovers, The Americans and The 100 (though if you’ve spent any time on my blog, you’ve certainly already been spoiled for the ending of The 100) and .
1. First Ship - When I was about 4 or 5, I was obsessed with Lady and the Tramp (I had a book version with a few pictures and it fell apart from how much I was reading it - it may have been my first book that wasn’t mostly a picture book), so I guess my first ship was two dogs (which is really appropriate, since I love dogs). If we’re talking TV, again going back to my childhood, before puberty and before I even knew what “shipping” was, I remember being pleasantly surprised when Raquel first appeared on Only Fools and Horses as a love interest for Del Boy - the show was an episodic comedy where the two brothers, in the early years, usually didn’t have a serious love interest. I thought “oh, he really is in love with her! And she feels the same, and they are so cute together.” I hoped she’d come back and wouldn’t just be a one episode character but a long-term LI. And then I was so happy when that very much did happen. I guess this can be considered the start of my TV shipping (and also an early sign of my love for contuinity and longer arcs on TV).
2. First OTP - Ignoring pre-puberty: at the age of 12, I was really obsessed with Wuthering Heights and Heathcliff and Cathy and read the book who knows how mny times. Regarding TV, I’ve shipped over the years, but I guess the first TV ship I would really call my OTP was in This Life, a 1990s UK drama about a bunch of 20-somethings in London, which I watched on TV in 2001. which now sadly seems almost forgotten. Anna and Miles had an on-off, love-hate relationship throughout - they were sexy, snarky, and it was painfully obvious that they were in love, but these idiots had trouble admitting it to themselves and even more to each other. If it had been a romcom, they would’ve been certain to end up together, but it was a realistic drama.
3. Current Favorite Ship - Bellarke - oh, what an OTP of all OTPs that was before it was stupidly destroyed out of spite. Over the last couple of years, Dark (season 3 mostly) made me really love Jonas and Martha (the first pairing I’ve made gifsets about), and most recently (last month!), I binged Halt and Catch Fire and fell in love with the show and with Joe and Cameron’s relationship (which, I just realized now, shows that my taste in OTPs hasn’t changed in 20 years).
If we’re talking current as in, in current shows rather than finished ones, then  Kanej (Shadow and Bone), Harlivy (Harley Quinn), Gereon and Charlotte (Babylon Berlin) and  Roy and Keeley (Ted Lasso).
4. Your ship since the first minute - I really rarely ship anything from the first minute (unless we’re talking Morticia and Gomez, who are of course already a perfect couple and nothing ever changes there). It usually takes time for me to fall for a ship. A rare exception is Roy and Keeley - their first one-on-one scene in S1 already had huge OTP vibes.
5. Ship(s) You Wish Had Been Endgame - Do I even have to say it? BELLARKE. A hundred times Bellarke, who were portrayed as endgame before the showrunner decided to retcon and ruin them together with the show overall.
Others: Jessica and Luke in Netfix Narvel shows, May and Andrew on AoS, Willow and Oz; or, depending on how you interpret Endgame, Willow/Tara (some argue that it is Endgame as Tara is definitely portrayed as the love of Willow’s life regardless of everything else). Spuffy (again, there are different opinions as to its status as both the show and the comics ended ambiguously and tried not to have a clear Endgame pairing for Buffy’s character), Xander/Anya (if you take comics into account).
6. Ship You Wish Was Canon - Some would say Bellarke, again, but I tend to consider it canon. It’s debatable, for sure (if you only consider making out/sex and/or “I love you” as markers of canon, it is not canon; if it is enough for the show to make it so blatant in the first 6 seasons that you have to actively search for ways to deny it to make it sound platonic, and for actors to confirm it was portrayed as romantic- than it is.)
So my answer would be: Kastle (Netflix Marvel shows), QuakeRider (AoS), and Octavia and Diyoza (The 100) and maybe Faith and Buffy (mostly in the sense that canon could have explored the nature of Faith’s feelings for Buffy a bit more and a bit more openly).
7. Ship that Most of the Fandom Hates, but You Love - Angel and Darla, May and Andrew, Coulson and Rosalind (hated how it ended though). Miller and Bryan (because they were more interesting than Mackson, and Bryan had a personality), Though “ships that most of the fandom ignores” would be a more apt term. The one that most of the fandom does hate and I like it is Octavia/Ilian - I liked it for what it was, two damaged people finding comfort together in what could have grown into something more - instead of the “we’re ve just met and talked to each other once and we’re already IN LOVE!” trope that the writers of The 100 were so fond of.
8. You Don’t Even Watch the Show, but You Ship It - Why would I ship something from a show I don’t watch?
9. Ship That You Wish Had A Different Storyline -  BELLARKE (duh - the ending). Veronica and Logan (the ending, again). Coulson/Rosalind - they had such an interesting and fun dynamic that could have been explored much more; instead, the writers opted for one of the worst tropes there are, and I hated that entire plotline for so many reasons. Tyrol and Boomer on Battlestar Galactica - what they did with Boomer was crap. Baltar and Caprica - all the bad writing in season 4. This is a weird example of a ship that I shipped so hard for 3 seasons and that was given Endgame in every sense of the word, but, by that point, I barely cared anymore, because the writers forgot about their relationship throughout the final season and made it seem like they didn’t even remember each other, and then slapped a last minute happy ending. Plus they retconed/explained their connection in such a stupid and anticlimactic way that ruined it retroactively.
10. Favorite Ship(s) That’s Endgame - Everlark, Nora and Kevin (The Leftovers), Philip and Elizabeth (The Americans), and Josh and Della on Night and Day (a really obscure early 2000s UK show that was watched by maybe 100 people.) Some others worth mentioning: FitzSimmons, Niles and Daphne, Tim and Dawn (original UK The Office), Jake and Amy, Memori (the only bright spot in a rubbish ending). And of course, there’s Morticia and Gomez, though they are less Endgame and more AlwaysGame.
Tagging: @jeanie205 @kizo2703 @poppykru @sheigarche @weareagentsofnothing @sometimesrosy @misskittyspuffy @otp-armada @carrieeve @sexy-zeitreise-detektiv @jonaskanwalds @immortalpramheda @ladyofthefrostfangs @tennyo-elf @fandomkru @natassakar @hadrianvonpaulus @sillier-things @angearia @thekawaiislartibartfast @foolishnymeria @erikiara80 @heartbellamy and anyone else who sees this - sorry I didn’t tag you and please consider yourself tagged. :)

Disclaimer: Some spoilers are included. Please skip this post if you haven’t seen the season two finale, or any Ted Lasso episodes.
Some Ted Lasso prompts:
If it’s absolutely final that the show will only have three seasons, I think next season:
1. Obviously Nate would even be a bigger bully. He’d be so full of himself that he’d finally lash out to his father for neglecting him over the years and to his mother for not doing anything about it.
2. AFC Richmond will win the final match over West Ham. Furious, Rupert fires Nate, blames and badmouths him in front of the press. Rupert lashes out to his wife Bex inadvertently hurting their daughter. Finally seeing him for the piece of shit he really is, Bex files for divorce.
3. Nate suffers a panic attack and is rushed to a hospital. Waking up, the doctor asks him whom to call since no one showed up for him. He turns on the television and sees an interview with Ted Lasso on his apartment. The camera zooms in on the framed photo of Ted’s son, beside it his present to Ted – the framed photo of them together on their first win. Ted says something like, "This is the spot where family photos go.” The interviewer asks for Ted’s opinion about Rupert firing Nate, but Ted defends him and says nothing but good things about him. Nate breaks down realizing what he had done; he is lower than where he started and nobody would ever give a shit about him anymore. Embarrassed and alone, he starts having suicidal thoughts, but Ted shows up and saves him.
4. Nate and Ted make amends, but the team was very upset and does not want Nate back. Will speaks up about Nate’s threat to him in Season 2 Episode 7. Rebecca, not wanting any form of bullying and Rupert’s influence on the team, tells Ted she would never hire Nate back. After having an epiphany over Nate’s suicide incident and making great progress on his well-being with Doctor Sharon, Ted realizes he’s in a better headspace than he had ever been. He is finally starting to forgive his father. Eventually, he gives the team a grounding life lesson talk about suffering and forgiveness.
5. Ted goes home to Kansas City for his birthday. The entire team sneakily follows him there and throws him a surprise party. It’d be funny to see Jamie, Sam, McAdoo, Colin and Jan Maas question everything upon setting foot on American soil, and Coach Beard trying to answer patiently. Transportation can be via (a) Rebecca’s new private plane OR (b) the team getting tickets on the same flight as Ted’s and cross dressing / wearing wigs, moustaches, costumes to avoid detection. The kid from Season 2 Episode 5 recognizes Roy again though.
6. Now that Keeley has her own PR company, she’ll probably hire Ted Crimm to run editorial stuff, but first she seeks Roy’s opinion.
Keeley: So I’m thinking of hiring Ted Crimm.
Roy: *grunts*
Keeley: What do you think?
Roy: *grunts*
😂 can’t wait for season 3!

I finished watching season 3 of the handmaid's tale, which I had stopped because many things narratively and pace wise were bothering me, and those things where mostly there still but most maddening of all was the continued slow pacing, and the slow close up shots of June to show us how she's gone/going crazy. In the last episode she says she has to become ruthless, and that's part of her journey into finding a sense, a mission with having stayed in Gilead. And so in the last couple of episodes she kills 2 men, one in direct self defense, the other in order to complete the rescue of the children. And I just realized that what bothered me so much about the whole season putting such an emphasis on her descent into madness is that we come up AGAIN against this narrative that a woman has to be literally crazy in order to visit violence upon a man's body. A feminist show, is continuing that narrative that only women who are crazy deserve to/are right to/can get away with killing men. Even in a situation as fucked up as Gilead is, the show had to work with 3 seasons of buildup and see its main character become literally depressed/insane in order for it to be okay for her to kill her oppressors/ a man.
THIS is why midsommar and gone girl and the like are loved by women. We don't need to earn it narratively (although those women do earn it, lol), we can just see men suffer at the (indirect at that!!!!!!) hands of women and feel glee and satisfaction without having to apologize for it. Every man on Gilead deserves to be murdered yet it took 3 seasons for us to see our hero do it.

Ok but why are people still writing their hot takes on midsommar like anybody took that film seriously. Girl it's a movie about a girl getting her boyfriend murdered and that's obviously the only aspect that matters there's no mystery here.

I'm honestly surprised that we don't talk more about Moulin Rouge on this website.

The Holiday is such a perfect romance movie, we need more romance movies of that caliber. The acting, the script, the score, the settings, the plot, the twists, the cast, is all chef's fucking kiss.
