Since I'll be starting a new temperature blanket this year, I figured I'd refresh and share the spreadsheet I used for my last blanket. It's set to automatically color code each row based on the temperature you input, fully customizable, and great for staying on top of your temp blanket and keeping track of where you left off! Temperature Blanket update! Finally a larger section of solid color to kick off February.

Lovingly referred to as my 'Notions blanket', I wanna introduce my 2023 temperature blanket!!!!

Because a year long project wasn't enough work already, I decided to not only change colour with every single degree change in temperature, but also to check the change in temperature.....every thirty minutes.

Every six stitches in the row constitutes thirty minutes in the day, and every different colour is a temperature change.

Every row is 285 individual stitches (should be 288 but i can't count lol, the final 30 min temperature is a 6-3 stitch count), of UK half-trebles/ US half-doubles, with a 4mm hook. Each row takes between 1-2 hours, depending on the amount of colour changes required.

So far, January 2023, measured in Galway, Ireland, is finished.

Top temp: 13°C Jan 3

Lowest temp: -3°C Jan 17

Average temp: 7°C

alright okay, so this is basically the tentative temp gauge we're going with rn, for the temperature blanket! there's always the chance that I'll tweak it over the course of the year, but this is the basic idea. also the shade names on there are just for my own memory

well, i didn't finish it for the year, and i know i won't, so i tied it off now and will enjoy it's coziness as is : D i think i got to about august before i decided i was done. yarn was costing too much for the amount i did *not* want to be doing anymore LOL, and some of the upcoming colors i ran out of and they straight up do not exist anymore.

this thing has been sitting folded on a shelf for months, glad i can really enjoy it now that i took the leap to decide it was done!!

OH MAN I AM INDEED THE BLANKET HOG kafnahgahia 😞i am truly the WORST 😞 so bad to the point that i suggest that we get two separate blankies ! that way he can at least have one !!! but katsuki haaaaateessssss that idea 🥺 he runs warmer so he really doesn't need it as bad as i do, but. he still is not having two separate comforters LOL and i am 100% tucking my feet between his legs or under his butt for warmth 😌

so i'm crocheting a temperature blanket this year. my initial instinct was to say it's for my 32nd year but that's not actually how birthdays work so instead i'm awkwardly going with "the year i'm 32" and shortening it to just 32 mostly. anyway, that's besides the point.

i have the colour palette/yarn, i have the pattern (toni lipsey's linen stitch pixel temp blanket), i made a gauge swatch, i've started tracking temps (i've recorded hi/lo starting on dec. 8).... but fuck, i'm having so much trouble figuring out the temperature gauge!!!

i can't decide what the intervals should be, i can't decide if i want purples to be warm temps or cold temps or where to put the neutrals, i can't decide if i want to fiddle/tweak(/cheat?) and use the lows for the cold temps instead of the high which was the initial plan.... i just don't know!!! ugh.
