Really wanted to make some forest terrain that invoked the vibes of Princess Mononoke and the type of mystical forests you see in old 90s and early 2000s rpgs. I was heavily inspired by artists I've seen on Instagram like edlaag_art, samcarr, and almirgusic If I had the space and the time, I'd love to make a whole board in this style.

Crashed Thunderhawk Tile Rehab has begun… but I’m going to need some bigger tools. I’ve had this bad boy, and the bunker tile, for a good many years now, and had never done anything with them because of the severe warpage present in both. I caught a snippet of a YouTube video where the hobbyist cut the pieces from the tile “frame”, and applied them to a sturdier substrate. Smashing idea, thought I, and had at it with the Dremel. For about 3 minutes, and 1 cutting disc. I refuse to pay nearly 100 USD for the basic zone mortalis set, which includes 6 column pieces, 4 short walls, a single long wall, and a couple doors. So, I'm making my own, and in a style I like more.

Here are the first two. If this was a tileset in a video game I'd call it "Backstreets"

I still have many more to go, but I'm quite pleased with these first two.

I also need a battle mat or some tiles soon.

You can almost hear the rustle of leaves on the long road behind as the wind carries autumn over the hills, hushed with portent. 🤌🏼 @lutherian_99 : "The forest surrounding Amberfall is filled with remnants of the history of the city. This statue was made not long after the first ogre war to honour the valiant soldiers who gave their life in protection of the city. I have moved on to painting, and I have to admit that the volume of work at this point is not small. On the positive side, I am moving forward with more energy as I slowly see myself getting closer to the result I had envisioned (with the necessary realistic compromises always for the sake of playability). Priming with an airbrush (a mixture of floor polish, latex paint, and black primer). This was followed by a second coat of primer and floor polish with a brush to cover areas that I could not reach with an airbrush. Zenithal lighting (with white primer diluted with a lot of water) applied in selective places with the help of an airbrush. Drybrush with two successive hands of gray tones. The wooden roofs were painted with brown acrylics and finished with a light drybrush of light brown (almost beige). The metal roofs were the result of true metallic acrylic paints and weathering with oils. The wooden parts of the table were worked entirely with oils. The plaster will be painted next.
