I think Optimus is good at deception as well as manipulation because he seems like an honest mech plus his ability to utilize words, to make others listen to him. This is why most bots wouldn’t suspect anything if Optimus could simply weave lies into the truth. And after years of war, he would know how to control his expression so no one would see through his bluffing.

i like to think universal translators can translate animals talking too, the male allo is trying to flirt with the female (and doing a TERRIBLE job), and Soundwaves just listening in since its the only entertainment for miles. both allosaurs are too distracted to notice the giant mech
