OOKKKKKKK i started answering this last night and it took me so long bc i have brain problems re: data and i had to go to bed before i could finish it so i saved it as a draft and tumblr deleted it so ok here we go again thine own self fucking slaps, it's like top three data eps for me if not top three tng eps. his little tights. getting his face ripped apart. getting murdered in the town square <3 wow i love that for him!!! datalore/brothers/descent 1/2 OBVIOUSLY bc anytime data and lore are on screen together i'm in a frenzy. noonian being there in brothers is an added bonus. the first 10 minutes of brothers when he's taking over the enterprise is, like... erotic... that sounds insane but it's true. i love it when androids malfunction, it's hot. any episode where data is malfunctioning or being opened up or ripped apart or plugged in to something is like... (chef kiss)

the offspring :^( clues is an underrated data classique. picard threatening him that he'll be stripped down to his wires? ummmm-

best of both worlds when he's plugged in to locutus? "processing.... processing..." LOVE IT. obsessed with that scene.

fistful of datas. actually any time data and worf get screentime together i'm psyched. especially if worf ends up having to carry him around bc he got his shit wrecked. which reminds me that the iconia episode is great in season 2, whatever it was called. i'm too lazy to look it up. contagion?

i also love any time data and riker get screen time together bc riker is obviously in love with that android. data's day is great, i love just seeing him be a weird little guy. calling geordi lunkhead. ruining o'brien's day. "i am not nervous. i AM confused." uhhhh whatever the episode is where he starts dreaming. birthright. if we're talking about data dreaming episodes, i actually prefer this one to phantasms, even though phantasms also rules. i loooove watching him and julian create a category 5 autism event on the enterprise. also data being like i had a crazy vision, please electrocute me again so i can give it another shot. and even though i hate noonian and want to smash his head with a brick, he is beautiful and i love getting to see him.

hero worship is great. as with the offspring, it's another, "wow data would be a great dad" episode.

love quality of life just in general. it's obvious that picard cares about data like all of his crewmen but they do frequently end up at odds with eachother, so this episode along with measure of a man really stand out to me bc i love seeing picard so enthusiastically being on data's side. he can't even make small talk with data on the turbolift but by god is he ready to die so data can prove some little robots are fellow sentient beings.

SPEAKING OF TURBOLIFT SMALL TALK, i know starship mine is technically a picard episode but data's parts in it are all great. love that statistically data is either the only guy who can solve a problem or is the guy directly responsible for the problem.

the episode with his mom is sweet even though in my mind it's non-canonical bc i don't believe that noonian soong is capable of um... caring about a fellow human being enough that he could convince someone to marry him (i hate noonian soong. have i mentioned that? actually i hate the entire family except the androids, they're just all terrible people).

uhh and then any episodes that feature data getting his mind hijacked and the entity who does it being like, "this body rules i'm going to beat the shit out of/choke the shit out of picard specifically". thank you... good stuff.

deja q gets 1000000 bonus points bc it is a great q episode AND a great data episode and i wish we got more of them being bfffs.

masks sucks so bad but the, "what does it feel like when one is losing his mind?" scene breaks my heart every time.

also this is not episode specific but data's fascination/love of therapy is awesome i love it i love that he wants to go to therapy every day and i'm glad that (even though picard the tv show sucks) data got his wish of daily therapy sessions with troi in season 3. good for him. GOOD FOR HIM!!!

It's so strange realizing how different my relationship with how I look is now. I spent the first 24 years of my life constantly avoiding my own reflection and dodging any camera pointed my way. Even a year ago taking selfies felt completely alien. Now I stop to check my makeup or catch my reflection in a store window and I smile because for the first time in my life I actually see myself. Anyways that's a lot of navel gazing to say I took a cute picture of myself today.

The funny thing about comparing the young wizards books to Harry Potter is that not only did they come way before Harry Potter, not only is the prose massively more competent, not only does the author have morals she holds to - to the point of rewriting the entire ending of one of her books when she was told it was harmful, but she also outlasted the whole Harry Potter phenomenon and is still putting out new books that are actually good in the series. Literally a flawless victory on every front.

I love when people compliment my outfit at work and I can say "thanks, my wife got it for me!" Cause so many old people just do not know how to respond to it. Half of them are visibly surprised but happy to see a gay in the wild and the other half I get to watch their brain short circuit as it goes "wife? But wait- girl? Lesbian? How?" And while they realize their smile is faltering and their homophobia is exposed I get to bask in the power of knowing I can get them banned from the farmers market if they say anything out of line. That $20 bag of cherries you're buying isn't the only fruit here and this one will ruin your entire summer without hesitation.

Sooo... like, we’ve all seen the subtle foreshadowing that Luz might be possessed by the Collector soon, but as we’ve seen in the latest episodes, it’s King who has an established connection with the Collector, which gave me a horrible thought:

What if KING is the intended target of the Collector’s possession, and it’s going to result in Luz sacrificing herself by either striking a bargain with them OR like, dramatically intervening ala ‘throwing themselves in front of a bullet’ trope to somehow transfer the connection/possession to HER instead of King?? 

Because I don’t think my heart could take that.

Quick ROTTMNT Review

Oh god... the tears running down my face are so real. I need to watch the movie a few more times to properly process everything, but here’s what I can get out right now. 

I just knew there would be some fresh Leo/Raph conflict for this movie, but I didn’t know how it would be handled. I was hoping for some nice support/angst combo and they freakin’ DELIVERED. And in a way I totally didn’t expect.

The tone was consistent with the show yet somehow managed to pull off the tears and angst SO WELL. 

My biggest fear from the initial trailers was how Foot Recruit/Cassandra was going to be handled. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER: It was addressed, and it made me laugh. We’re good.

Okay like... it almost feels redundant to talk about the animation? But I will a bit anyway. It was FIRE. It was BOSS. It was EPIC. It was everything you could possibly hope, want, expect, and more. It stayed Movie Quality the entire time. 

Probably my biggest critique is while yes, Leo and Raph were intended to have a role reversal, something shown in the show was how while Raph was always doing and trying his best as leader, he wasn’t a very good strategist nine times out of ten? And while Leo was more laid back and lazy he WAS in fact a very good strategist when he set his mind to it. This movie seems to reverse that...? Leo was VERY ‘fly by the seat of his pants’ and Raph put in the effort to make actual plans. BUT I suppose this could be attributed to a more literal role reversal. Leo decides ‘now that i’m leader whatever i do is FINE i guess’ and Raph has to overcompensate like he does in Pizza Puffs. It would have been nice to see this addressed properly BUT it didn’t ruin my emersion.

All in all, I loved this movie with my whole heart. Thank-you so much to the cast and crew for giving us this gift. I hope my tears fuel your next endeavors.

Summary: Penelope just wants Spencer to be happy. So, she sets him up on various of dates, each one ending in a disaster.

Penelope basically grew up with Spencer. They were both young when they first met and watching Spencer grow and go through all the shit and trauma he has gone through is chipping away at Penelope.

After the whole Cat Adams fiasco, Spencer’s relationship with Max ends a week after that, Spencer understands that not everyone can handle a relationship with someone like him, especially the fact that her family was put into danger because of him.

A month after the break up, Penelope finally decided that enough is enough and that she’s going to set Spencer up with as many people as possible until he meets someone who will fit him.

Spencer, on the other hand, can’t say no to the ever positive and cheery Penelope Garcia. In his heart he knows that Penelope just wants him to be happy, so if its setting him with a dozen of people, then okay.

Spencer won't admit it but he was also jealous of her and Luke's growing relationship and he just wants something like that for him.

At the same time he was happy that she was happy. More than anyone in this world, he believes Penelope Garcia was the most deserving of true love.

But after 3 dates, god almighty, Spencer wants to end it all.

The first date was with a woman named Shelly. She was cute and all, Spencer even thought that it could lead to a second date, but then she started babbling about how her ex just broke up with her and she’s just looking for a “fun” (code for I want a one night stand) time.

Penelope bailed him out by calling with a fake emergency.

The second date was with another woman named Tiffany. Its was going okay and Spencer was staring to really like her until Spencer tells her that he had an IQ of 187 and Tiffany said, “Oh! You’re a nerd!”

This time Penelope bailed him out by literally getting his car towed.

The third date was the weirdest one. Spencer finally agreed on a date with a man, and its not that he has a problem with it, it’s just he has never tried dating another gender. It was with a man named Travis and the date was going pretty good until the very end where Travis finally told him his true agenda: He was looking for someone for a threesome.

This time Luke bailed him out by having Roxy literally chase him down the street.

Tonight was the fourth date. Penelope says its with a woman named Erica and all Spencer can think about is that he needs to learn how to say no to Penelope Garcia.

Spencer gets ready for the date with Erica. They were going to eat at an Italian Restaurant that he choose.

He just hopes this night would be the night that it works out for him. If it doesn’t maybe he needs to go to a shaman or something to fight away the bad spirts and the bad luck.

“Hi! I am Erica!” Spencer stands up from his sit on the restaurant to shake her hand, “Hello. I am Spencer.” Careful to not say Doctor, in case its another “nerd” situation.

“How do you know Penelope?” Spencer asks as both of them settle down and after ordering wine.

“Oh! I don’t know her actually.” Spencer can’t help but make a face, “Excuse me?”

“I don’t know her actually. We’re actually water aerobics classmates but that's it!” Spencer nods and makes an audible OHhHH before looking down at the menu.

“How about you? How do you know her?” Erica asks, “Oh! I work with her in the FBI.”

“FBI?!” Erica almost chokes with her wine and sits up straight. Spencer can’t help but squint his eyes, she suddenly looked nervous. He can’t help but think that maybe Penelope set her up with a criminal? Which is impossible because he’s pretty sure Penelope does background check for everyone around them.

“Yes... FBI. Is there a problem?” Erica immediately shakes her head, “Uh.... I am going to the bathroom.” She says in a hurry and runs to the bathroom.

Oh dear, his bad luck is endless. Spencer immediately takes out his phone to call Penelope.

“S-spencer!? What’s up!?” Penelope’s voice comes in as a yelp, making him pull the phone away from his ear.

“Penelope! Did you set me up with a criminal!?” Penelope yelps again, “No! Erica has a clean background! She’s not a criminal. How could you say th-ugh... at!”

Spencer sighs, “Penelope Garcia, are you talking to me while having sex with Luke Alvez!?”

“N-no, I am not!” Her voice is more breathy now and Spencer is even more disgusted, “Oh god! Bail me out of here you two!” He says.

“Yes! YES! I’ll bail you out!” Spencer immediately turns off the call as he hears Luke’s grunts. Ugh, those two.

Erica comes back 10 minutes later, looking flushed and nervous, she's also out of breathe and her dress is crumpled.

“Are you okay?” Spencer asks, looking more scared than worried, Erica laughs, “Yeah, I am good. FBI agents is... my kink.”

This time its Spencer’s turn to choke on his wine. He was unlucky. He was the unluckiest man alive right now.

“It is...?” Spencer asks, unsure on what to say.

“Yeah! Do you... do you have the kevlar vest? You know with the FBI logo?” Oh god. What is this? Why was he here?

A bulb lights up on his head and finally everything makes sense.

“I am sorry. But did you...,” He lowers his voice, “masturbate in the bathroom?” Erica smiles at him and nods, enthusiastically.

“Do you want to get out of here?” Ohhhhhkay. Maybe asking her that was the wrong decision because she was now thinks that he is interested. He starts shaking his head to say no when he feels a hand on his shoulder.

“Honey!?” Spencer turns his head to a very pregnant woman, who was about his age, now looking at him with eyebrows raised.

“Honey?” He repeats, “What? Did you forget your married? Now galavanting around and dating some...” You look Erica head to toe, “chick?”

“I— I...” Spencer can’t form any word. What the hell is happening? You widen your eyes on him, before leaning down and pretending to pull on his ears, making him yelp.

“Pretend. I am Penelope’s bestfriend.” You whisper to him and Spencer’s eyes finally widen at agreement and nods.

“You’re married!?” Erica shrieks at them.

“Yes, sweetie. This guy you’re dating is married and is about to have his fifth child! So we’re leaving now! Before I go into labor here! With mucus and stuff!” You act distress while holding your womb and still holding unto Spencer’s ear while pulling him out the restaurant.

When they’re finally out of sight, you let him go.

“I am sorry for hurting you. Damn, how bad is that date that Penelope had to call me while having,” You pause to give the word more emphasis, “sex!?”

“It was so bad! She started acting weird when I said I worked with the FBI and then she rushed to the bathroom to masturbate!” You can’t help but laugh holding unto your stomach.

“I am so sorry you had to do that while pregnant.” Spencer says, now finally having the chance to look at you properly.

For a pregnant lady, you looked as beautiful as ever, giving the famous “pregnant glow” a whole new level.

“Oh please! This!” You look around before taking his hand and crossing the street to a park.

Spencer guides you to a sit, because he felt bad that he made the pregnant, beautiful, lady stress out over his bad date.

Weirdly, you started pushing your stomach down the skirt of your dress making him look away immediately.

“Ta-da!” Spencer looks back at you and the pregnant stomach is now gone. You were now holding a hollow styrofoam belly with snacks in it.

Spencer raises an eyebrow and gives her a look. But truth to be told he's kind of happy that the woman who he's finding extremely attractive is not really impregnated by someone else.

"Oh! Don’t look at me like that! I was going to watch a Star Trek rerun in the movies down the block and the snacks are always too pricey!” You wag your finger in front of him as he sits beside you.

"Where did you even buy that?" Spencer asks laughing as you started opening a bar of twix, "Oh. Michael's." He nods at your answer.

“That’s why I was able to run so quickly to the restaurant.” Spencer cringes at this statement, “I am sorry if I ruined your evening.”

“No, you didn’t! It was fun to play a pregnant lady with a cheating husband. Plus I get to meet the famous Doctor Spencer Reid, with 10 PhDs, IQ of 200 and can read 100,000 words per second.” Spencer laughs and almost chokes on air, “It’s 3 PhDs, IQ of 187 and 20,000 words per minute.”

“Well, you know Penelope and her hyperbole. That’s how her stories go.” You laugh and Spencer finally realizes that he doesn't even know your name.

“Oh! I am an idiot! I am sorry, what’s your name?” You laugh as you bite down on the twix, "And why have I never seen you before?"

“I am Y/N Y/L/N. I am Penelope’s childhood best friend, I just moved here like 6 months ago.” You offer him another bar and Spender happily accepts it.

"Why'd you move here?" He asks, happily munching on the chocolate bar, finally realizing that he never got the chance to eat.

"I got an offer to teach in Georgetown and Penelope was also here, so I said you know what? Why not? Its always an adventure with her and with what she made me do tonight, I am so happy with my decision." You wink at him and his nose scrunches up as he laughs with you.

You were sure Penelope was overselling this great Doctor Reid but, oh man, why did she never mention that he looked this good?

"What do you teach?" Spencer asks, "Astronomy."

His eyes widen at this, "Really? I didn't expect that." You laugh at his statement. "Yeah, a lot of people say that. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Astronomy."

"That sounds awesome! Maybe I should get mine too..."

You gape at him. You're so dead. Tall, good looking, fbi agent and always wiling to learn? Its like your dream man came out of the movie screen and was presented to you, which was hard to believe because your dream man is Matthew Gray Gubler and that man just raised your standards through the roof.

"Another one?!" Spencer laughs at you before he protests, "Hey! You can never have too much!"

"You're not wrong with that." You agree with him and you both sit in silence eating chocolates.

"Too bad we met late, we could have went together to watch Star Trek. The ticket selling has been sold out since last week." Your face scrunches up into a sad smile, and Spencer has never felt so bad.

"Hey, we can watch it at my place?" Oh god, that sounded to forward and its evident when your eyes widen, "I mean! If its okay with you! We can watch it at my place and I have popcorn. For free." Spencer rambles on as he mentally face palm himself, his bad luck streak continues.

You laugh because he looks so nervous, "Its fine, Spencer. I should call Penelope first tho." You pull out your phone but then make a face when you remember the last time she called you.

"You know what, I'll call her later. I don't need to hear her and Luke's grunting. Ugh, they're disgustingly sweet and gross at the same time." Spencer laughs as they both start standing up, "You're right. But you know what I've never seen Penelope that happy with anyone."

You happily agree, "Yeah, it's been a while. She deserves it. You know I always told her that I've met so many people in my life, but she's the most deserving of true happiness." His smile grows bigger at what you say, being the same exact thing he said.

"You're right." You both start walking quietly, Spencer helping you with the hollow belly.

"So... Star Trek..." Spencer starts and you immediately yelp, feeling defensive over a movie series, "Hey! Its a good movie!"

Spencer immediately panics, "I didn't mean anything bad! Its actually a good series! There aren't many scientific errors in it especially considering how long ago it was made!"

You can't help but smile, you already knew this but you still nod as if you didn't know this because... well... how can you correct this cute man?

"Okay. Good. I don't want to watch a Star Trek movie with someone who doesn't respect it." You say sternly and it makes Spencer laugh, "Relax, Y/N, I also love it."

The walk to his apartment was quick, it turns out you both live near each other. The walk was full of many random talks and just wonderful topics.

"Penelope tells me this is your fourth blind date?" You tease him and the pink that colors his cheeks is the prettiest shade you've ever seen.

"Yeah... Its all been bad, or weird, or just out of this world." Spencer can't help but scratch his head. You chew on your lips, trying to gather your courage.

"So... Do you consider this your fifth date....?" You look up at him with wide eyes. He looks at you, a smile slowly growing on his face. "If you want it to be." He supplies and you immediately nod with a smile.

Spencer's smile grows bigger at how excited you look. Maybe he's bad luck streak was ending with you by his side.

Spencer's fifth date was a success. It ends with both of you fast asleep on his couch after eating all the popcorn and candies your bodies can take as Star Trek plays on the background.

Penelope finally stops setting him up on dates when he comes to work the next day with a smile so big, its competing with the huge bouquet of tulips he bought for Penelope as a thank you.

Clothing Style: Eralen wears a lot of leathers and furs. She likes clothing that can be molded overtime to fit her body, and she prefers comfort to style.

BACKGROUND

Eralen was born at the start of Harvestmere in 9:21 Dragon as the youngest of 3, and the only girl. Her immediate family is made up of hunters and healers, save for her second oldest brother, Alador, who was appointed the keeper’s first. It was unclear whether Eralen would be a mage as well, but with no signs of magical powers by the age of 16 (Alador’s powers began showing at age 13), her father and eldest brother began to teach her how to hunt.

Her brother did most of the practical teaching, bringing her with him while he would hunt for food and pelts, while her father would set up small targets at camp during the evenings for her to shoot at. It was evident that she had natural talent with a bow and a genuine interest in hunting, and within a few years she had earned her place as a full-fledged hunter for her clan by taking down a wolf on her own.

Eralen loathed moving around until her clan began settling in the woods—she felt safer and most at home surrounded by trees. Even if she wasn’t hunting, she spent most of her time deep in the woods with her hound, Dandelion, and a bow (just in case).

COMBAT & SKILLS

Preferred fighting style: Ranged—she’s pretty fragile so she stays back and lets her sturdier allies take the brunt of the damage. Favorite weapon(s): Bows Special skills: Because Eralen is small, she is extremely quiet and light-footed. This makes for a great advantage both in the woods and on the battlefield.

RELATIONSHIPS

Family: Eralen is close with her family, but is closest to her oldest brother, Sorel. She spends most of her time with him and her father, Nelwen, hunting but enjoys spending time with her mother, Mariel, in the evenings sorting herbs and learning about healing remedies. She doesn’t see much of Alador as he spends most of his time with the keeper, but she is always proud of him and enjoys boasting that her brother is the keeper’s first. Love interest: Before joining the inquisition, Eralen was interested in a healer from her clan, who worked alongside Mariel. Since joining the inquisition, Erlalen has been smitten with Josephine. Best friends: Outside of the inquisition, she didn’t have many friends apart from Sorel, but in the inquisition she’s very close to Iron Bull and Krem.

The Leaving Cert is an awful system.

In case you are not from Ireland, the Leaving Cert(ificate) is the exam system that determines which uni we can get into. Rather than having a GPA via continual assessments or any sort of entrance exam or letter of application we simply have one set of exams. There are obviously other exams (such as the christmas and summer exams in other years), however, the Leaving Cert exam is the only one that matters.

When you take a subject you can either do ordinary or higher level. Ordinary level is easier but rewards less points, and higher level is more difficult, but rewards more points. A H1 is worth 100 points (except for HL maths which is 125) and is given if you get between 90 and 100%. A H2 is 88 points and 80-90% and so on. An O1 is 90-100% in an ordinary level subject but only 56 points. There are some weird changes to the system when it comes to medicine but I won't get into that right now. Universities award places based solely on the points you receive. This leads into the first problem.

Whilst the education experience is a multi year process (6 years in secondary school in our case), what determines your uni course is a single event, often just a single week out of many years of learning. This is insanity and leads to so many obvious problems. A person could be getting H1s throughout the year and forgot to study just one topic and end up with a H3 in the leaving cert at the end, and a H3 student could get lucky and study a topic that happens to come up and get a H1. Even a single grade can be the difference between getting into the uni you want and losing out. The leaving cert does not measure you abilities as a student, your effort, or even sometimes your ability. The leaving cert measures your memory and how well you can perform on the day. You getting 100% in every single subject for the past 6 years and a family member dies a few days before the exams and it absolutely ruins your mental state? Too bad. In the eyes of the university you are not a good enough student. You are a perfect student but got a bit nervous and stayed up a bit late the night before to get some extra study in and are tired the next day? Too bad. You've been getting 625 in every set of mock tests but on the day your mind goes blank with the incredible stress, the knowledge that one test will determine the rest of your life? Too. Bad. There are no exceptions to the hand of the points system and claw of bad luck. You cannot explain to the uni. They. Will. Not. Care. Nothing else is taken into account. Students will have bad days. That's just life, we're all human. However that must be accounted for. Nobody should miss out on their life's dream because of a single day. That is absolutely absurd.

When you ask someone what education is about t. There is a filter type system for different categories of posts and all that, so if you're interested in what I have to say, I'd recommend going there for the better experience. I also have no fucking clue how to use tumblr sof you ask them what the leaving cert is about they will say it's about getting into uni. Clearly there is a disconnect here. Where has education become so distorted that now it is nothing more than a way for universities to quickly and easily judge us? Education must be about teaching children, not for some uni test, but simply so they can become more knowledgeable, so they can get a thirst for information, so they can locate their strengths and weaknesses, so future generations can live better lives than we will. University selections must be nothing more than an afterthought. It is even worse when the leaving cert is a horrendously stressful system. We put ourselves through sometimes 6 years of stress and bad quality of mental health to make it easier for universities??? What a ridiculous idea.

The leaving cert isn't even a fair way to judge students. Here, I'll be able to determine how good you're likely to do in the leaving cert with two simple questions. Do you have a good memory? Are you good at maths? If you answered yes to both, the chances of you doing well are very high and if you answered no to both - well - the chances aren't quite as good. A huge amount of the leaving cert is simply a memory test. I know the state will talk constantly about how rote learning is discouraged and all that, but realistically that's not the case. Take for example the English paper. You get to know which poets might come and which poems you can use before the exam. This mean your teacher can simply write you a good sample answer and if you can remember it, that's at least a H2 for that part of the exam. And as for being good at maths - if you're good at maths you already have 3 subjects which you can say with reasonable certainty you will be good at - maths, physics, and applied maths. Students who aren't good at maths have nothing like this unless they are fluent in several languages. A big problem when you arises most of the non maths subjects are based on memory, and the ones not based on memory are based on maths. History? Memorising essays. Irish? Memorising poems. Biology? A lot of memorising. Physics? A lot of maths. Accounting? A lot of memorising. This continues throughout basically all the exam subjects, with only maybe one or two exceptions. I know someone who hasn't even started 5th year, and yet they already know they're screwed and have basically given up on their first choice course because they have dyscalculia and a terrible memory. They can try as hard as they want, study as hard as they can, but realistically, they aren't going to come close to someone with a good memory and are good at maths who put in the bare minimum effort. It's bizarre too, given the amount of jobs that don't require either maths or a good memory.

The subjects you can study in the leaving cert is also extremely limited. You have to study Irish, English, Maths, and a third language. In public schools you then basically have the option of History, Geography, Accounting, Business, Economics, Art, Music, Religion, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and DCG. There are no electives to try out things similar to careers you might be interested or anything like that. Now those that plan to go into business will be happy I'm sure, however, for most other people, the subjects have very little in common with the career you want to do. You're doing law? I suppose a business subject might somewhat help??? You're doing computer science? Maths is kinda related. Medicine? Biology sure, perhaps a little bit of chemistry? But at most 2 out of your 6 subjects will actually be any way relevant to your career. To make it even worse, public schools have subjects in blocks. This means there will 3 blocks of subjects and you pick one from each block. You're super good at both physics, chemistry, and business? Well too bad, there's a very high chance you won't get to study all 3, and you'll have to pick up geography or some other subject you have no interest in. In some cases all 3 of the subjects you like may be in the same block, meaning you'll have to pick up 2 subjects you have no interest in and will likely be worse at. Once again, simple luck plays a huge part in the leaving cert. Going into 5th year, the subjects you're allowed pick will likely change your eventual points by around 30 or possibly more. Furthermore, private schools provide a massive advantage, often with your chance of getting good grades being around 4 times higher. You were born with well off parents? Congrats, here's an extra 100 points have fun. Absolute insanity. The leaving cert is really just determined by luck every way you look at it. Now obviously luck plays a part in everyday life too, but the leaving cert basically caters to the lucky, and a whole lot could be done to reduce the benefit they have based on luck alone, rather than quality of character, or time studied, or effort put in, etc.

I suppose I've reached the stage where I should stop complaining and start giving actual suggestions for improvements then. Fine. Firstly, remove the idiotic one exam process. Instead have some sort of GPA system with continual testing, so it shows how good a student is on average, not just on their worst/best day. Increase the amount of uni places available so that getting into the uni and career you want becomes more of an afterthought, rather than a constant stress looming over you. Add more subjects and electives that will be relevant to the career the student is planning to go into. Make learning and discovering your strengths and weaknesses and just enjoying life in general a main focus. Give students time to relax and do sports outside of school, even in 6th year (which is something basically impossible to do under the current system). Allow the tests that determine the GPA to be open book. Make understand more important than simply memorising. Remove the subject block system so students can do all the subjects they actually enjoy and are good at. I believe that the single test system is one of the reasons that private schools perform so well, by removing that, I believe the scores wouldn't be so far apart. However additions restrictions, or even total banning, of private schools could be implemented. After all, surely everyone deserves the same quality of education. These are children and teenagers for gods sake. There shouldn't be a heirachy of education based on their parents wealth. All students should be given the same opportunities. Private schools largely do better due to having better teachers. There currently isn't a large enough supply of very good teachers to go around, and the private schools can simply buy up the majority of good ones. We should pay teachers more, a lot of people thinking about careers may be dissuaded from teaching, despite having a passion, due to the low pay. Many good teachers also go to places like Dubai thanks to the better pay. Overall in society, teachers are sort of dismissed as a profession, and if we wish to improve the lives of the next generations, this must change.

I didn’t publicly call you stupid, I called your ask “fucking embarrassing” and lowkey called you an asshole for your very disingenuous question. You know, if we’re going to correct each other on what words we actually used and what not.

Also I wouldn’t pat myself on the back so hard if I were you, I mean for riling me up and/or causing me consternation, because being cranky about things is like basically my whole shtick since I first joined tumblr. I could fart and then make a post full of consternation about my farts and it’d track with what I usually do here, tbh.

I will give you that many eskam fans don’t give two shits about the lack of ethnoracial and size diversity on eskam. (I rarely go one week without mentioning it again, but we’re talking fandom at large.) But to boil down all of Lucas R’s time on the show to the (shitty af) Lucas/Kasim relationship is disingenuous, when in s1 he challenged the trope that gay dudes are underhanded little shits who want to ruin his crush’s relationship, a trope Eva invoked and he rebuked. And then, on his youtube channel, he covered things that even Skam didn’t cover, and on the topic of gay/Muslim relations, he and Amira had the best take on the bench scene on said youtube channel. 

I really don’t agree with you that Druck fans don’t criticize the show enough. I’ve even seen posts saying that Druck stans are so fucking intense and obsessive about calling out every shitty choice that it makes casual fans feel bad about enjoying Druck without noticing the flaws lmao. I really have no idea which Druck fans you’re talking about that “scream about how good their rep is without usually mentioning some of the issues” that you included, because that’s not at all my experience with Druck fandom. Hell, this was a fandom that had to be told to stop saying they liked s6 “despite its flaws” gvhvh. Druck stans will talk about David’s public outing until the cows come home, and lol Druck breaking winterberg up and including an eleventh hour female LI for Mia was such an unpopular choice that saying you like Victoria gets you side eyed.

Skam France is shit, but like, most of its stans know that and roundly mock the show for it? I think it’s mostly Elu stans who have claimed elu is better than evak. I honestly can’t think of many current Skam France stans who would defend the writing. (Either way I don’t really hang out much in the skamit, skamfr or wtfock fandoms.)

Once again, you’re making your question about quantity vs quality, because it’s not difficult for you to relate to/project on cis white mlm boys. So, for you, all these storylines are created equal and are equally relatable/projectable. And, once again, I will tell you that some people prefer to see storylines that reflect their own experience closer, such as a wlw or a trans dude sl. And yes, they will consider that better because they will like it more. I just can’t get over you calling people hypocritical for hyping up a storyline they see themselves in. If we all judged the writing in the Skams the way you judge the writing in (only) the remakes, none of these shows would pass muster. Not even Skam. In fact, Skam wouldn’t be near the top because, throughout the whole show, it kept mocking wlws in a way that a lot of the other remakes didn’t (including Skam France!!!). Like, you’d think for a show as praised as Skam for its gay rep, sexualities other than gay men wouldn’t be mocked (not even talking about queer women here!), and yet pansexuality is treated as the punchline to a joke in one of the two occasions the word is uttered! Once again, not mocking other sexualities is a low bar that a lot of the remakes you mentioned managed to clear. 

You know, in the end the thing here is that you don’t want anyone to tell you, “Skam really only covered one experience” when you’re hyping it up, and like. Fine. We all have pet peeves. Like I said, I like Victoria (I just find Tijan Marei such a delight tbh!) and I would like to see approximately 99% less legit criticism of her. But like, when people criticize Victoria (which is every time Mia’s bisexuality or Druck s4 is brought up btw), I think of Tijan Marei’s little face, I don’t go sending asks like, “huh so do you dislike Victoria because you have something against women of Circassian descent? :) hey I’m just asking a valid question here. :) didn’t think that would get you riled up. :)”

Some time ago, someone asked me to share some tips, and to this day, I still agree/follow the tips I posted back then. You can read them here. 

There’ this post I once reblogged some time ago, and I do this SO MUCH like, no kidding. There’s this fic Im currently writing (surprise ruined uhdfciusfc dont ask me when, I am half way through, my writing speed is UNPREDICTABLE even for me) and it looks like this (parts blurred out bcs spoilers, and I dont wanna spoil who is this about)

Something specifically I do, i don’t know if others writers do it to, is start with the dialogue (pretty much like you see in the screenshot above) mostly because most of my stores start with dialogue. I write the main dialogue alone, and then add details as who said what, how they said it and details like describing actions and places.

(it’s also important to figure out how your writing process flows. I varies from writer to writer. Mostly bcs you understand how you work, and you stress less about your writing bcs you understand how it works.  My writing process is basically:

can’t sleep bcs of idea

write down dialogue

add details as to who said what, how they said it

add paragraphs describing the setting (sometimes this one comes first, then the dialogue)

editing

contemplating how good this is, maybe suffer a little

post it 

BONUS: my quality standard is: if I were a random reader, would I like this story? if the answer is FUCK YES then I post it. If it’s nope, or eeeeh, or its a pretty ok story, then no. If it’s good but not the best, most likely, I’ll post it. This also can happen at any time in my writing process. 

Its  not necessary to have a quality standard kinda checklist like I do. I’m just very strict with my work :( this is why about 10% of everything I write ends up being posted, and why I take ages to post something in this blog. 

I’m gonna add a few ss from a conversation I once had with a friend here on tumblr, where I mentioned some things about writing details without cluttering the text and make it sound robotic/boring. (please ignore the typos, I type v fast on my phone and ALWAYS have typos)

this is an example of what I mean (bellow the red line is a different way of writing the first paragraph)

note how I also managed to mention another details about the weather. 

Another tip I have, and I think I mentioned it in the ask I linked in the beginning is to read other people’s work. Not only you’ll learn new words, you’ll learn ways of describing things. 

Each writer has a unique style and voice, and most of it comes from writers absorbing little things from other writers. I hope I am making sense hcksfhcs like, there are 3 writers I read a lot when I’m trying to write smut bcs I love how they write it. I don’t straight up copy what they write bcs thats not cool, but not only they inspire me, I’m like: ooooh, this phrase in particular sounds very cool. Or “the way they describe this action is real spicy” and so on. 

Even the wording of things. I once read in some fanfic I can’t remember, but I read the phrase “[piece of clothing] hung from [their] waist” its a pretty simple phrase, but by how it’s written, I swear to god, it immediately presses buttons in my brain that make me go:

and since I first read that phrase I was like “OHOHOHO I HAVETO INCORPORATE THIS INTO MY WRITING” and stuff like that. 

Tiny details you can add into your style. And if its coming from several writers, in the end, your style is defined by the writers you like and read. And its not bad, every artist style comes from the influence of all those people the artist looks up to. 

And that’s about all I can think of right now. I might as well make a masterpost with all the posts I find with writing tips, and my own writing tips. bvfsdvbhsfj

Fantasy tropes to avoid (and ideas to reinvent them)

Hello aspiring writers of Tumblr! How is it going?

This is my first post on here and I decided to dedicate it not only to the genre I am writing in, fantasy, but also to a crucial topic, which relates and affects every genre in different ways.

TROPES.

It's lazy to build stories on something that has already been written a million times before. I don't like tropes at all as a reader. If I wanted to read the same stereotyped story all over again I would just stick to the previous book I have read with that same plot, so I would also spare myself the trouble of learning the unpronounceable names of these new stereotyped characters.

On the other hand, as a writer it might be tempting to give in and use tropes. "Why not? After all everybody uses them and I am already SO busy writing the actual chapters of my story."

I tell you what: every time a trope threatens to slide into your story, crush the page and throw it across the room, yelling:

Seriously, though: tropes are just general, undeveloped ideas. That's what you need to do, develop them. In this way only will you ever be able to unleash their hidden potential.

Without further ado, may I present you three of the most common fantasy tropes and hints to reimagine them.

*Keep in mind that this is only my personal view on the subject and you can either agree or disagree with it.

1. The chosen one

This one is the most obvious one and I am also quite sure that you expected to find it on the list. Interesting, Watson: I guess that it makes this article stereotyped too…

Well we all know those characters. Those characters that were meant to be the one. The prophecies had spoken about them long before they were even born. They might as well be the only one capable of using magic or wielding a certain weapon. This character is either the only one who pushes forward the storyline or that one protagonist who does everything except choosing anything actively in the plot. There is no in between. Either way, they only possess notable qualities. Of course there is no trace of flaws. I mean, they are the hero.

Have a side-kick (or co-protagonist) be the chosen one instead

A great idea, if you really want to insert this trope in your story, is to use it to your advantage and surprise the reader with it. Who could ever expect that the protagonist was actually never the chosen one? Or that another character is the chosen one from the start?

To see this trope well recreated I recommend watching the BBC TV series "Merlin" in which a young sorcerer, Merlin himself, must help the future heir to the throne, the prince Arthur Pendragon, to fulfill his destiny and become the greatest king who has ever lived. Arthur has no clue of what has been foretold, nor that he even is at the centre of a prophecy. All of Merlin and Arthur's choices will determine either the glorious success or the tragic failure of the quest; all of this while Merlin hides his powers from Arthur and everyone else as magic is condemned in Camelot.

2. Overused fantasy Races

...which translates mostly into putting Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, dragons and any of the Tolkenian elements and creatures in your own story. Now, don't get me wrong. Tolkien is one of my favourite authors, hence I am always captivated by those fantasy novels that display these Races in their stories. But I don't want to read a copy, I want to read your own masterpiece.

That's exactly why you should:

Redesign the well-known fantasy Races and adapt them to your world and to your theme or just create brand new ones

Personally, I absolutely LOVE to craft new fantasy Races. I believe that it adds depth and realism to the world-building (which does not consist only of geography). Each civilisation brings their culture, their traditions to your story and that's what makes a world truly breathe. In my opinion, the purpose of fantasy is not to focus just on the epic deeds narrated or on endless battles enriched with magic and legends, though those are very important part of this genre and they must be just as equally developed. The reason why I write fantasy is to spread awareness around the vast variety of themes that coexist in our society nowadays, in the first place global warming, the racism that still today people experience, LGBTQ characters which are often unrepresented both in literary fiction and TV. What better genre than fantasy is there to represent diversity and multiculturalism? On these latter points I will never not be thanking and loving the works of Steven Erikson which are part of the high-fantasy series "Malazan Book of the Fallen". Diversity and the brand new variety of intriguing Races are a huge part of what makes Malazan such an awesome fantasy series. I refer to Steven Erikson as the main inspiration of my writing and I recommend you to give a try to his books, if you have the chance. I warn you though, that it is not any light or easy reading.

The other option might be to reinvent the well-known Races. Tolkien himself did not "invent" the Elves of Middle Earth, rather he made a legend of his own after having studied the myths and ballads of ancient civilities. Then he developed their language, their history and their culture as if they were a real existing population. Every single aspect of Tolkien's worldbuilding can be read in his Silmarillion. I think it is a must-read for anyone who is looking forward to reinvent the traditional fantasy Races or just to know more about them.

3. Unfailing magic systems

Magic can be anything you want. That doesn't mean, however, that it should be your escape point: stuff in your story should happen because of your characters, not only because of magic as it is simpler to put it that way. A magic system should be rational and engaging. The reader needs to be able to understand exactly how, when and why does magic work in your world. No, the answer should not be "because it's fantasy."

Set rules, limits and costs to the magic in your world

How do character gain magic abilities? Is magic accessible to everyone or is it elitist? Is it taught in specialised schools or is it something that resonates from within? Are wizards free to practice magic or is it banned? Or maybe are there only specific areas of magic that are prohibited? What is its source? Does magic come from higher beings or are spells more powerful the stronger the mage's will? Does magic need a catalyst (such as a talisman, a weapon etc.) to be casted? If not, do wizard recite spells? Do they need to trace specific symbols? Otherwise is it necessary to make specific hand gestures in order to release their powers? Does it exist only one system for all mages to use or are there multiple kinds? Last but not least, what are magic users in your world called? It's all up to you to decide. Ask questions and let each question lead you to another one. You need to know exactly how your magic system works and so does the reader.

What I love about crafting magic systems is the freedom to establish the boundaries and the natural laws that apply to your world, as magic is a huge part of the story if you're writing fantasy. Well, this could also lead to another question: is your world actually ruled by magic forces or do magic abilities have just a marginal role in the world building?

Remember that magic should not be used as an excuse to fill eventual plot holes in your story. Your magic system should function correctly and it should always stay true to itself. In other words, it must be believable.

And I can hear you thinking "but it‘s magic!"

Then guess what? You need to make the readers believe that magic is real!

First of all, set the rules, the limits and the costs that apply to your system. Having done that, you'll have finished most of the work that concerns the use of magic in your world. Most, not all. If you are a bit of a perfectionist like I am, consider the importance of developing your system furthermore by asking yourself questions, such as the one I have written above.

Rules: decide what makes your system work and what magic can be casted for.

Limits: decide what kind of tasks your magic system cannot perform.

Costs: decide from what kind of source is magic obtained from and, literally, what does it cost to mages to obtain their magic from this source (as Rumpelstiltskin of OUAT wisely says: "all magic comes with a price.")

The most excellent and well-rounded magic systems I have ever come across are the ones created by Brandon Sanderson in this "Mistborn" trilogy: allomancy, feruchemy and hemalurgy. All three magic system permit the magicians to use a wide range of abilities based on the metals they can "burn". Magic originates in the Shards and from Preservation and Ruin, two god-like beings. If you're already interested, I definitely recommend you to check Sanderson's novels out: they are a useful resource of inspiration.

I hope this post has somehow given you the inspiration to go and write right now.

Two updates this week!

SC #018

1)  Oh my god this is so cute I love this so much baby moon is so precious. Poor thing living on the streets. This was very fun to read keep up the good work

Hehe. Li’l Moon! I guess all the female Dex Holders are super adorable when they’re young. ... Still bummed that we never get to see a young Platinum in the manga. We got ONE panel of a 9 year old Platinum in ORAS and that’s it. And 9 years old isn’t that young in Pokemon Special. Boo.

2)  Aww, this backstory really is sweet. And that was a very good idea of Platinum's - it does a pretty good job covering Moon's bare necessities. I like the picnic scene in particular! Moon as a kid is cute to see, but somehow that picnic scene was just nice to read overall. Heh, no wonder Moon ended up so devoted to Platinum. This really is a way better backstory than the manga. Overall, this is a superbly written chapter. Looking forward to the remaining ones!

I thought about how Platinum was going to care for Moon in a plausible manner. I mean, the best way for Platinum to provide for Moon is to simply get her to live in the mansion. But... I’m fairly certain that the Berlitz Mansion would not allow a random ass kid from off the streets to live there. That’s why Platinum doesn’t offer Moon to live with her. And so, with Moon staying with Diamond under his care for a bit, she naturally develops fondness for him, which would result in building a foundation for a scrambled pairing later on, or Moon taking Diamond’s side in certain situations. Hehe...

3)  Great story, as usual (you are my favorite Pokémon writer and one of my favorite overall writers of fanfiction), but I do have a question. Why do you mention Green so rarely now? He appeared a lot in your earlier series, but he appears only twice (by my count) in this collection. I also checked on Tumblr and Green is absent from all of your recent rankings, lists, and etc. Do you just really dislike him now or something? Thank you for the wonderful work.

Well... I assume you’re relatively new here. To put it simply, after the pairing shift, Green plummeted in my preference, and then to compound the issue, he made a random ass appearance in XY that ruined a lot of things. I absolutely hated his appearance there, and so he simply stopped existing for me.

But of course, the seething hatred had passed a long time ago. The reason why he doesn’t appear nowadays is because there’s no point for him to appear anymore. Like... where is he going to appear? DE? He’s not paired with anyone, so no. SC? SC is going to die in two more updates and both chapters are focused on the juniors. Heart or Wings? Neither focus on the senior cast. Legacy? Well... Green’s presence f*cks things up there. So... he’s not going to be appearing ever.

Do I really dislike him now? Not anymore, no. Now it’s a strong indifference. Just like with Silver.

4)  Also, to elaborate, I am happy to see that you swapped to Lucky shipping rather than Oldrival, I just wish Green made appearances more often as I think you do a much better job writing him than all of the grammar school dropouts that create the majority of the fanfiction writer base. As for ships with Green... I prefer Feeling (as Green and Yellow could easily just spend an hour staring awkwardly at each other, which would be funny... and the Yellow could be squashed by a piano that fell out of the sky (no big loss there. Just kidding. Kind of, anyway.)) or my favorite pairing, Jade Crystalline, not even so much because I think they would be good romantic partners as the fact that I despise Gold, and at least Green is intelligent. (To be honest I have never seen any reason whatsoever for Gold and Crystal being together, as Gold has very few redeeming qualities, and Crystal, while kind of generic, is at least a good person) Thank you.

Eh... maybe. But... I’m still not going to be writing anything with him.

Pairing him up with Yellow? ... Why would I do that? The biggest issue with me trying to force Red & Yellow to work back in the days was that I didn’t give a damn about Yellow and that dragged the pairing down so much. ... AND the issue with Red not really feeling anything there. Pairing up Green with Yellow would mean I would pair my least favorite male Dex Holder with my least favorite female Dex Holder, both of which are my absolute least favorites. So...

Despise Gold, huh? Well, everyone has their own preference. At least Green is intelligent? True. But he’s kind of a bastard. He doesn’t really give a damn about anyone. While Gold pretends that he doesn’t care, but he actually does.

5)  Another great chapter I really enjoyed the moon's backstory I thought it was really good. I also quite like moons undying loyalty to platinum I just wish she could interact more with the rest of the Sinnoh gang.

I guess I should squeeze in more interactions between Moon and Diamond/Pearl. ... Though I have been doing that already. ... Mostly with Diamond, but hey.

1)  Interesting how Moon jumped straight to the idea of Diamond deepening his relationship with Platinum first...I hope she's not taking sides at least lol. Poor Platinum, though. Now she's really stuck between a rock and a hard place with having to decide, hm? I wonder what her thought process will be, honestly. I'd expect her to at least try and start by taking a logical approach to the issue first, though that probably won't get her very far. Awesome work as always and can't wait to see how this plays out!

2)  Thought it was cool to see platinum figure out that diamond and pearl were lying. While reading this chapter it reminded me of Special Lives as this was what diamond was worried would happen. Which I think is cool as it’s like a what could’ve happened but with less doom. Can’t wait to see who she chooses.

... Do not mention that story. ... Of course, I realized the comparison before Heart even existed. But... well, I think the turmoil in Heart would be handled better than the disaster that was SL.

Dream Date: Imagine this: a nice, plush couch, covered in down pillows and fluffy blankets. Do I have a crush?: Not really. There are people I find very very attractive (a friend, Sam Kiszka, Duff Mckagan in his 20s, Lucy Lui) but nobody that I'm actually romantically and sexually into.

One of the most supportive and encouraging friends ever, 10/10 will always be there to hype me and I could not be more grateful for that. BST :part five

Description: The BST is the world’s most notorious mafia. Their initiation process known by many a soul. Beat to a pulp, or drugged. Pushed into the middle of nowhere with a red ribbon over the eyes and wrists. You must survive the night. Many have died corpses covered in red ribbons fill the morgues of seoul. What happens when a cold dreary night leads Hae-In to the field behind a playground. A spot of red ribbon is all it takes to make her know what is happening.  But she can’t just leave this man to die. Two shadows turn to three as Hae-ins live begins to take a turn for better or for worse. Her once, boring, unloved life has now changed. Welcome to BST dear Hae, do you think you can handle it? Or will you die at the hands of the true enemy.

                                             Part five:  Consequences

Had I made the bad decision? I chose to follow him into the car and to this location in which looked like the inside of a bar or something but Really i never left my house so I had no idea where I was. “I can’t believe you brought her here of all places. Could you have not chosen one of the warehouses. Or something she's going to know where she is!” Shouted a man.

“Hyung, she won’t know where we are. Calm down” Succubus sighed leaning against the back of the couch. I was sat on a red velvet chair staring at the couch.

“Everyone knows this place Succubus, how could she not know where she is. Look she looks exhausted as well… do you want a drink? Some food or something? Did you even offer her these things. Where is your manners!” Sighed the man looking at the boy who just rolled his eyes.

“She’s technically not a guest at the moment. She doesn't really need these things yinyang.” Another boy stated walking into the room I was in.  He was a tall male with unkempt shaggy grey hair falling in front of his brown eyes. My eyes darted to the other male that had asked me if I wanted a drink. He was Yinyang. The BST’s number one negotiator. He could get people to talk and agree to what he says but the one most terrifying thing about him was his ability. Many called it invisible death. Because if you somehow did not agree with him. You would be dead without anyone noticing. I gulped, fear taking over me.

“That is still no reason to not be polite. If she knows where she is, then the least I can do is offer her a drink to make sure she doesn't say anything V!” Yinyang sighed annoyedly at the younger male. V….. BST’s number one assassin. No one had seen him in real life. And yet here i was staring at him before my eyes. His ability was known as chameleon. He was able to morph into his surroundings as if he was not even there in the first place.

“Trust us Hyung. V, succubus and I have been watching her for a month now. V and jungkook basically living in her apartment for pete sake. She doesn't get out much. She won’t know where we are.” That voice, it matched the face I was seeing perfectly. The face of the boy I had rescued. He smiled at me tilting his head a bit. “I am sorry, they tend to take things over board. I wanted to say thank you for saving me. My name is Calico cat. It was succubus’s idea. After the song you were singing when you saved me.”He smiled at me making me blush a bit and look away. What the hell, he’s in a mafia why am I blushing.

“How cute! She’s blushing.” another man's voice cheered. It was a Male with light brown hair, an angular jaw, and brown eyes.  

“Finally our Sunshine has appeared we can get to work.” Yet one more stated. He was a tired looking male  with white hair and droopy brown eyes. Sunshine? The BST’s weapons manufacturer and main fighter. Oh no…. His ability was known as speed. He could get weapons to people within seconds. Pull them out of nowhere almost like a magician. He was even known for making weapons out of nothing. He used a pen once to get himself out of a sticky situation.

“At least i'm not always late like someone I know. Suga..or is it agust d right now?” Sunshine chuckled. Suga was the BST’s information broker.Hacker and informant. While Agust D was their torturer. No one had ever realized they where the same person before. Well… I guess until me. His ability was known as reader. It was as if he could read minds. Wait….. If he could read minds  does that mean.. He can read mine?

“Suga at the moment. And no I can’t read your mind. But Succubus, you are correct she does have the ability to do decipher. She's been studying each of us. Putting us into ranks. Soon she will figure out who she is in the presence of. I wonder what other qualities she possess.” Suga stated smirking at me before going to sit down with the rest on the couch. Did he just say he couldn't read my mind, when I was thinking if he could read my mind? Does that mean he can?

“You look like your trying to process everything and anything going on at the moment. Lost in thought. Perhaps, she may have genius as well.” A final man’s chuckle made me turn and freeze. God of destruction was standing before me. The leader of the BST. Many have seen his face. Though usually covered by a mask or hat. Standing before me without one. I was surely going to die. All 6 of BST’s top ranked members. With Calico cat making it 7. I was in the presence of Bangtan. Fear coursed through my veins as my heart began to beat 100 times per minute. I clenched my hands on the handles of the chair. I was surely going to die. Why did I help Calico cat? This was going to be the death of me.

“Yeah, she definitely needs a drink. What's your poison princess? I have everything under the sun.” Yinyang questioned.

“I...I…. I don’t … drink… usually.” I whispered hoping talking would prolong my life.

“She speaks!” Sunshine cheered clapping his hands. Making Suga laugh at him. A gummy smile appearing on his face.

“Of course she speaks she’s  a preschool teacher. Did you think she was mute?” He laughed.

“You don’t usually drink! Oh we have to change that. I'm thinking something fruity and sweet. With a hint of mint” Yinyang announced walking off down the stairs and out of the room.  

My heart raced as I stared at each and every one of the members of bangtan. Waiting for someone to speak. G.O.D walked over and sat down on the couch. He leaned forward just staring at me. Making me figit a bit. I was most definitely going to die.  I had to do something. “I'm sorry!” I shouted hoping that would help.  They all just seemed to stare at me in amusement and chuckle a bit.

“Why are you sorry?” The G.O.D asked raising an eyebrow.

“I….i...i ruined your ...i..i..initiation process. I...I ..I just couldn't help it ok...I can't just stand there and let someone die!!” I shouted staring at the man.  “So, I’m sorry ..but its a moral responsibility of mine to not allow that to happen. Please I won’t say anything….I d-d-d-dont ever leave my house. I dont even know where I am right now. Please don’t kill me. I have so much more I want to do with my life.” I cried stuttering through my words. The G.O.D just smirked.

“Oh? And what more do you have planned for your life?” He questioned. I froze. I really did not know myself. What more did I have planned for my life? My family was gone, my life was already boring as it was. I had no ambitions, no dreams. Even if I had dreams I couldn't afford them. My head fell.

“I don’t know” I whispered. A loud sigh escaped Agust D as he looked up tilting his head a bit.

“You don’t need a dream to live the rest of your life happily. You don’t need goals, you don't need these things. Everyone can live happily however they want. These losers don’t seem to think that's possible. But it's true. To all the dreamers without dreams. All the hoppers without hope. There is always light on the other side. Honestly if you have a good group of friends by your side you don't need dreams or goals.” He stated rolling his eyes and looking annoyed as he leaned back.

“B...but…. I dont… i dont even have friends.” I whispered.

“Well now you do!!!, we will be your friends since your in BST now! Bangtan all came from homes and people who ended up not showing love in some way. So we taught each other how to love ourselves. We can teach yo! Welcome to the family!@” v stated with a smile making me shake my head confused. Wasn't he an assassin? Why was he so nice? And cheery? Wait…. I'm part of BST now?

“WHAT!” I  shouted in fear and confusion.

“V we haven't told her that part yet. Slow down!” the G.O D. answered.

“Hurry up man i'm hungry.” sunshine answered  Yinyang came back up and gave me the drink making me throw it to the ground.

“That's it explain what's going on!” I shouted while yinyang gasped.

“You ruined a perfectly good drink thats whats going on! How rude!” he shouted “my poor floor do you know how much this rug costs!”

“I don't know where i am so no i don't know how much it costs” The G.O.D sighed walking up closer to me.

“It can't be helped. You know to much. You know all of us now and the face of our new recruit. We've seen that you may have an ability like those of us in. Bangtan. By watching you, we think you have more than one. Your perfect for our team. So we request you join us. We are not like other mafias we don't do many things they do. We just fear….if someone else was watching that night besides us. You could be in grave danger.  Join us. It’s your only.” His hand touched the back of the chair i was sitting on and it was to late for him. One quick knee  flying high between his legs and he was leaning forward pain clear across his face. I lifted the leg wrapping it around his arm that was trapping me in and twisted my body hearing the pop of his wrist as he shouted in anguish. Quickly I flipped landing on my feet before rushing down the stairs. Lights and music began blaring people dancing all around. I looked around confused. Unable to figure out how to get out. I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder.  I went to flip the person only to have them hold my hand.

“Please don't flip me i'm just trying to help.”

“Help me… Help me… you just kidnapped me and tried to get me to join.” a hand silenced me as he looked around fear clear in his eyes but his body language showed none of it.

“You don't know where you are. You’ve never been to a club before. I will get you out and home safely I promise.” He stated before leaning his head close to mine. “Try to act natural look at the girls around follow in their footsteps… you never know who is watching.” He whispered but his face turned to that of a flirty expression. My eyes scanned the room looking for anything that could be out of the ordinary. And there was. On the other side of the club from the stairs i just walked out of was a group of four men dressed in lavish suits but the energy they held was darker than anyone else around here. They were powerful, and a bit scary. I would admit that. I sighed nodding my head and looking at the girls who where giggling and having fun. I wish i could do that.

“Just get me out of here and maybe i won’t uppercut you so hard in the jaw they'll be calling you zombie instead of succubus.” i whispered making him laugh.

“ heh, i'd like to see you try princess. You'd have to fight me....and every girl in this place" he laughed winking at me.  I looked around at the flirtatious stares of the woman. Some more jealous than flirtatious.  I sighed in defeat.

“I suppose your right succubus.” I stated he smiled.

“I know I am.”  He laughed wrapping his arm around my waist.

The music of the club blared.  As drunken fools danced and laughed. All of them seeming to have a good time. “You need to loosen up a bit.” Succubus whispered. “I know you don't get out much. But seriously. To much stress is not good for you.” We began to walk out the doors of the club the music lessening as we got outside.” You should go to my hotel!” He cheered making me freeze in my tracks. I lifted my hand to slap him hard but right before my hand could graze his face he grabbed it bringing me closer. “Think fully before you act. Use your deciphering skills to look around. What dangers could unfold from you doing that hmm?” He raises an eyebrow at me. “Also always keep an advantage. Know exactly every meaning a sentence could hold. My hotel is rated 5 stars, has a spa with natural hot springs,  top of the line clothing stores, hair salons and nail salons. I was not asking you to work for me but offering you an expense free vacation.”

“If I needed a vacation I would take one. I don't need help from someone LIKE YOU.” I growled his eyes seemed to hold pain for a split second before blinking to the left. He slammed my body into the wall holding both arms beside me to lock me in.

“Wrap your arms around me put your head on my shoulder.” He whispered.

“What the he'll get off of me!” I shouted.

“Do as I say.” He stated grabbing my hoodie and putting it over my eyes.

“No” I snapped.

“Please!” His voice cracked in a bit of fear and worry making even myself fear. What could someone who was a top dog in a mafia be afraid of. As if instinct I wrapped my arms around his neck and put my head on his shoulder. Her leaned close to me I could see him breathing heavily. He looked down at me eyes telling me everything i needed to know. They were like a knight trying to protect a queen. Calculating any move he had to pull next. Any way he could possibly come out victorious.  

“Well well well, if it isn't my old friend succubus. What do you have here. A new toy?” A voice laughed from behind succubus. Succubus growled anger clear in his body language.

“None of your damn business yeom.” Succubus spat.

“Oh come on bussy. You still mad after I killed your last four bitches.” The man chuckled. Succubus's fists clenched as they seemed the shake in anger. I began to shake in fear. The man bear us was a murderer. Would we die here.

“No, why would I care about a few ..sluts.” He stated but as he said the last word his eyes flashed an emotion I never thought I would see on a magia member. Remorse. “This one..IS MINE … I don't plan to share.” there was a dark chuckle from behind us.

“And what if I take her from you? What will you do then.” The man asked.

“ back pocket pick it up click off the lever at the top and point it towards the voice.”  succubus whispered. My hand quickly went down doing as I was told. To afraid to do anything else. My hands grazed the silver gun fear striking in my veins. Was I going to kill someone? He wouldent have me do that right? I flipped the lever like he said and pointed it towards the man. Putting full faith in my current sheild. “This ones a member of bangtan….you think you can? Shes got the abilities of all of us combined and even more…. Go ahead attack… lets see who ends up dead within seconds.” Succubus's voice echoed through the alleyway.

“Duck… let's get out of here!” Three men shouted followed by running footsteps.

“Where the hell are you going...he's obviously lying. Get back here!!” Yeom's voice echoed with yet another pair of shoes running away. Succubus burst out laughing.

“Before i move princess. Do you mind flipping my safety back on.” He laughed. I did as I was told still frozen in place. He moved with snake like grace. Grabbing the gun from my hand and placing it back into his back pocket. “Poor yeom is all bark no bite. Don't know why HC even accepted him into their top team.” He said scratching the back of his head. “Are you ok?” I just met….a member of 7G and all of bangtan and am still alive….

“I think I'm going to be sick” I stated putting my hand on the wall.

“Woah woah woah careful. You really should have accepted YinYang's drink let's get you home.

He got me to the door of my apartment and waited for me to unlock the door. I was about to close it when I stopped myself. He did rescue me from Yeom after all. The least I could do was say thank you. “Thank you.” I whispered.

“It was nothing. I'm always happy to help a princess when they need me.” He smirked tilting his head a bit.

“I mean it. If it wasn't for you...I would probably be dead. So thank you. Wish there was a way to repay you.” I stated. He smiled brightly

“Here! This is the address for my hotel ill see you tomorrow!” He cheered.

“What!” I shouted holding the card.

“You wanted a way to repay me. I have no one to go to a spa relaxation day with. Now your coming with me.” He laughed

“It's an expression people don't take that seriously!!” I shouted he just chuckled turning on his heal and walking away. His hand waving at me.

“ see you at 12. Don't be late!” He chuckled.   What have I gotten myself into.

A Rant. A rant on this fucking community.

There are way too many issues with the community, and I'm pretty sure most of you know them- and I'm here to rant a little on them.

Note: Y'All on Amino are totally fine, well most of you. Because you aren't tumblr trash.

Without further ado- let's hear me rant about this community.

Issue 1: Art

The obscene amount of art for this game is a lot for people to take in. A lot of it is low quality, and it's all that people notice. Sprite edits, occasionally, but writing and other forms of art for cookie run are totally ignored.

To Improve This, I'd like to take an attempt to expand everyone's view to archive of our owm/ao3. It has a nice writing base and it's a great place for most arts.

Another step to improve this would be to have game devs step up and host a variety of challenges, though it probably won't happen.

Issue 2: LGBT+

Here's Where The Real Problem Starts. This community is a bunch of Social Justice Warriors. There isn't much else. These people are so obsessed with making every fucking thing they do in the community related to lgbt because they think they need to. They don't- Cookie Run is a small game outside of Korea, and we aren't gonna force them to think like us.

You say the smallest thing wrong, this community instantly hates you, that's just how it goes, and that's a huge issue.

Issue 3: Forcing HCs.

Headcanons are a great way to share your own creative ideas with others! But it honestly annoys me how far the community has gotten with this. They've forced it to the point where if you disagree with someone's hc they are gonna want to;

- Block you

- Ban you

- Tell you you're a dumbass

- Tell You That It's Canon 100% Devs Confirmed

- Tell you that your opinion is invalid.

- Etc. Etc.

Oh Yeah, btw if every character to ever exist, if even one you hc as heterosexual you're gonna be killed.

Issue 4: Ships.

OH. MY. GOD. WILL. YOU. SHUT. UP.

Just saying, y'all gotta calm down. Your ships are no different that mine. None of them are canon, it's up to your imagination. So don't go fucking slaying people over it (ironic I'm saying it I used to do that), and don't force them onto people? You wonder why I despise GumPepper and DarkWhip? Because people keep calling them canon and because this community forces them onto you. You can't speak up. You're one fucking person. But it's time to. It's time to speak up. It's your own damn opinion.

Ships are nice and all, but when it comes to certain things this community just ruins everything. Thanks, Tumblr.
