You don’t see him until it’s too late.

The knife clenched tight in his trembling fist reflects the sun and the second you see the flash, he’s already lunging forwards.

The tip of the blade is poised to sink into the soft, yielding flesh of your stomach and there’s that blinding ‘oh shit’ feeling igniting every nerve in your body like a twisted solar flare.

Jason filters into your line of sight without a sound.

“Get behind me.” He barks, engaging the threat without a flicker of hesitation.

Kicking your body into gear you find it hard to think past the adrenaline. Your hands are shaking all the way up to your elbow and every single thought is merging into ‘you’re going to die’.

Jason says to get behind him but you find yourself wanting to run. It’s almost impossible to ignore the impulse rearing up over your head.

A body slams hard into the wall beside you and you hear the clink of a knife as it drops to the floor. Without looking Jason kicks it away. He’s got his back to you, forearm pressed up against the assailant's throat.

The man struggles, desperate gasping breaths heaving out of his lungs. He claws at Jason’s arm and you can feel his fear. Your eyes meet, only for a second, but when you look at him, he’s got the same look of terror on his face.

“Don’t even fucking look at her.” Jason snarls, furious, shaking with it. “You listening, fuckface? Don’t you fucking dare look at her.”

The man looks away and you can’t breathe, throat closing up.

“Jay–” You gasp.

Fists meet flesh and everything is a blur, but you see Jason shove the man to the floor, leaving him unconscious and bleeding from his nose. You want to look away but you can’t, transfixed on the display of violence, of protection.

Would you have died if Jason wasn’t with you?

“Hey, look at me.” Jason urges, sweeping his hands from your shoulders up to your cheeks. His grip is steady. You realise that he’s not shaking like you are, not crippled by fight or flight. “Look at me.”

“Jay.” You whimper, grabbing at his arms, his shoulders. “I can’t…”

“I’ve got you.” He reassures, ducking just low enough to catch your gaze and hold it. “Nothing’s going to happen to you. Not whilst I’m here. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

Soooooo Scary and Grant have already been done but Morgan and Hero I can definitely take a crack at!

First up, Morgan Freeman. Schrodinger's wife. Haunter of the s1 narrative, lover of cringefail demon men, the OG low-rolling ranger of the Close-Foster-Swift clan. I actually love her sosososo much even though there isn't a ton of material to go off of. I just think she's so interesting in both of her variants - we really don't know how close the two iterations of Morgan are to each other, but the one we meet in Hell has such a deeply weird and deeply devoted relationship with Glenn that is,,, really sweet to me, personally? Like, the idea of the two of them getting to know each other again and falling for each other in the process of that is so very dear to me, because clearly, Glenn and Morgan weren't something that was fated - fate itself actively intervened to pull them apart in the first place - but despite it all, they were able to find love and companionship in each other and be so open and silly about it, which I just. Adore. Morgan is so,,, maleboss to Glenn's girlwife. There I said it. She's so fun!

And now, Hero!!! Heroic Ly'Oak-Swallows-Garcia yet another of the teen girls of all time!!! Listen. I know we've had even less time with her than we have with Erica but she DOES compel me. Chosen one from birth? Eldest of the generation? Anime lover tasked with saving the world and Not Wanting To Do That??? Antagonistic toward her brother in a way that, in hindsight, was probably exacerbated by the pressure on her to play savior while her younger sibling just gets to (literally) be a Normal Kid??? Literally she makes me so unwell. I adore her so much! I want to know what her deal is SO badly and I have so many theories but mostly. I hope she gets tipped super well by all the people she delivers pizza to and that she can watch her anime in peace and that she gets high scores on her video games every time she plays. I also. Kinda really wanna see her subjected to The Horrors and then attack them relentlessly. What can I say I just think that would be very cool of her!!! Anyway. One older sister to another. Look I just read the third chapter of blue blood, MAGNIFICENT ✨your writing is literally wonderful, i promise, but there’s a special place in my heart for the way you write Kinn. So hot? So daddy? Whats ur opinion on depressive old man Majima?

I want to shrink him really small and put him in a little cage (NOT JAR) and every day ill play with him by throwing him in the air and hes always crying and throwing up and begging me to stop but his voice is so teeny tiny that i just think he wants to play more so i play my favourite game biting him where i dangle him from my teeth and carry him around everywhere like that and sometimes i get so happy that i start shaking him around like a wild animal with fresh kill and it breaks all his little bones then i put him in my pocket and forget all about him and put him in the washing machine and he dies but its okay because he just respawns back in the cage and we do it all over again
