Okay, because it's you and you're my very special friend, I'm going to talk about my Redemption AU, Complex Inquiries, for these prompts!!! (My version of Metal goes by "Unit MS-1" and uses it/its pronouns.)

■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon:

Unit MS-1 is actually nomadic! Its constant paranoia of being found by or reported to Sonic (and Eggman, but mostly Sonic) keeps it on the move. Its most important possession is the foraged charging cable it keeps wrapped around its arm. Here's a short list of the variety of locations it's broken into to find a wall outlet to charge with: a hardware store, a manufacturing warehouse, a house that's been listed for sale, a community theater, a barn, and somebody's apartment.

♥ - family headcanon

Because you've activated every self-indulgent bone in my body with this ask, I'm going to tell you about something I have planned for later in the AU:

Omega and a post-redemption Unit MS-1 being sort of begrudging siblings. Kind of. Maybe. Omega's the "older" one, despite his frame being the younger of the two, by sheer virtue of being emancipated for longer. And they don't necessarily like each other, but if Unit MS-1 ever has a question that it can't manage to solve, it knows that Omega will always answer (even if the insulting tone he'll answer with is the reason that it considers him a last resort).

(This, of course, comes only after Unit MS-1 is well on the path of destroying all Eggman robots. Obviously.)

☠ - angry/violent headcanon

Breaking things. Crushing things. Tearing through things (including its own plating) with its claws. This is a trait that Unit MS-1 imitates/picked up on directly from Eggman. In the heat of the moment, it can't stop itself, but afterwards, it chastises its own actions as foolish and incompetent. Its creator never once benefitted from performing such an action. So why does it continue to do so?

so the second one i got way too obsessed with is called the guy upstairs!!

we open with a character who is joining my group of "all time faves, itches my brain" characters, a girl named rozy

(its set in malaysia)

she is an orphan, who grew up in an orphanage but is now in college and in her own apartment

it's not exactly the best apartment, she works a couple of cleaning jobs to afford it, but it'll do

she's got a friend named hawa, who is literally the sweetest

she's very popular, cause she's both nice and very very pretty and lots of people are like how are they friends

now for all you "get your dog under control" (they're talking about a human) fans, you are gonna go CRAZY

rozy is insanely protective over hawa, which seems to be a theme all throughout

basically, rozy doesn't really get ill, but when she does it gets real bad - nightmares, fevers etc etc

so one day when rozy accidentally walks into her upstairs neighbour's flat and witnesses him brutally murder a woman

she thinks that's just another nightmare or a product of the medicine her boss gave her to help with her headache

but she knows what she saw. and she refuses to trust him.

thus begins the most TENSE game of cat and mouse ever

rozy knows that adam (the neighbour) is a killer, but no one will believe her, she's been tagged as crazy before and will be again if she brings it up

and adam knows that rozy knows, but he also knows that he can't kill her, cause it'll be traced right back to him

so what does he do? tortures her emotionally

he starts to date hawa

a policeman looking for his sister (who fits adam's victims' MO) becomes friends with rozy, trying to give her advice on the situation (they have a sibling relationship by the end its really sweet)

together, they realise that what he does is date slim, fair skinned women with long brown wavy hair and then kill them

so hawa seems to be in grave danger

rozy does everything she can to try and break them up, without looking insane

(it doesn't work)

it gets to the point where adam proposes and hawa cuts off rozy for being too suspicious and clingy, while rozy thinks hawa is too easily trusting but can't say why

finally they talk again after a suspicion she had about a classmate turns out to be true

and hawa decides to help rozy find proof that adam is a serial killer

the reason why i'm so obsessed with this is because rozy is such a compelling character like honestly. she's smart, she's rude, she's highly independent, she's funny, intensely loyal and has massive abandonment issues. like girl is adamant that she is fine and ok and not traumatised and that her way is the best way to go about things, which it is in this case but not because she's right, she's just right in this extreme situation. i just love characters that seem reasonable but are one threat to their loved ones away from batshit insane.

i saw ur tags about snokoplasm being a queer metaphor and oh my god ur so right and u should say it

i'm sure someone smarter than me has already touched on it but this has always been my interpretation of snokoplasm and i'm happy to spread my agenda 😌

straight away, we see phil ask for snokoplasm, to which the exo helper automatically assumes he wants blue snokoplasm. this implies that a person's preferred color of snokoplasm can be inferred just by looking at them (or at least, you might think you know). upon hearing this, phil laughs and says:

we don't know why, but clearly blue snokoplasm is viewed as something outside of the norm in society, undesirable, though not necessarily "wrong" (it's still being offered as a valid option, after all).

the exo helper responds:

phil takes offense to this and says:

from this, we understand that yellow = the presentation of traditional masculinity, therefore blue must be the opposite. part of the joke is that phil obviously does not have big muscles or a traditionally masculine appearance, yet in this instance, he wants to be perceived that way.

a curve ball is thrown when the exo helper says they only have green snokoplasm. this confuses phil. he insists that it's yellow, effectively forcing this green snokoplasm into the binary he sees the world through (it's blue or yellow, there are no shades of green). finally, phil purchases the green snokoplasm, though he still insists that it's yellow.

as he leaves, the exo helper says this:

which cements the fact that blue snokoplasm is something to be enjoyed only in secret. furthermore, we know the internet played a large part in phil's self discovery as he used it to interact with all kinds of people, gaining confidence that he didn't always feel in person. and, well, we know phil did "buy the blue snokoplasm off the internet" around this time. ie. meet up with guys he met online and was interested in, without going public about it.

later, he asks the viewer whether we think the snokoplasm is yellow or green. this shows that he's conflicted now and he can no longer state with certainty that it is yellow.

despite this inner conflict, the video ends with phil covering himself in yellow snokoplasm (which may or may not actually be green). he has chosen to align himself with the color society expects from him, even if it doesn't suit him. he's not ready yet to call it green, and he's certainly not ready to cover himself in blue snokoplasm for the whole world to see. but maybe someday 🥺

so anyway that's my argument that snokoplasm is a queer metaphor!! also it looks like lube. there, i said the obvious thing

hyrule snap is of course the hit new video game for nintendo switch that has swept the globe to almost universal acclaim. @nightpool and @ot3 wanted to see some of my "nature photography" (part 2 here)

I would consider these 'perfect' animal shots; they're high contrast and there's even more than one animal in the larger shot for most of them. I spent an hour of in-game time staked out to get the arowana leaping

these are shots I like but will retake at some point to get bigger or with higher contrast. you are rewarded by physically getting close to your quarry--one thing totk did is actually reduce the 'resolution' of your photos as you zoom in. I have a lot of very zoomed-in bird pics with 'pixels' the size of a man

these are likewise perfect monster shots. note the octorok's projectile about to clock me clean upside the head

these monster pics will get reshot but I really like the poses I got. the wheezing wizzrobe who just needs a second. the top ten anime moments before black moblin disaster. the boss boko with his ducklings is funny to me; I just have to get the picture physically closer and on a sunnier day (hyrule doesn't have a real golden hour, either)

bonus: I like to shoot equipment in situ when possible. local twink jailed for taking creepshots, claimed 'was just trying to get a good angle on the gerudo scimitar'
