The Smosh studio was alive with chatter and laughter as the crew prepared for their clay sculpting live stream. Bright lights illuminated the table covered with an array of clay colors, sculpting tools, and creative reference materials. The anticipation in the air was palpable as the chat filled with excited fans.

"Are we live? Oh damn! Hey, hey, hey! Welcome, everyone, to another Thursday games stream!" Spencer Agnew's energetic voice greeted the camera. "We've got a special treat today because my partner, the incredible Y/N, is joining us!"

Everyone’s favorite crew member, Y/N, waved at the camera with a grin, their eyes sparkling with excitement. "Hey, everyone! I'm so pumped to be here and get crafty with all of you!"

Angela couldn't contain her excitement. "This is gonna be a riot! I can't wait to see what kind of mess we make!"

Shayne, always ready to poke fun at Angela, chuckled. "Hopefully not too much of a mess. Let's keep it somewhat together, Ange.”

Chanse responded extra quickly, “Says you, personally I'm actually trying to make something good.”

“Okay sureee” responded Shayne, sparking the competition for the stream.

“Also, make sure to stay until the end to vote for your favorite creation!” Spencer concluded, letting the chaos begin.

The group dove into their clay projects, each with their unique style. Shayne decided to sculpt a caricature of Ian with exaggerated features, while Angela molded a cat that somehow resembled a bizarre hybrid of horse and dog. Chanse, true to form, meticulously crafted a stunning clay sculpture of a phoenix.

Meanwhile, Spencer worked on something special, exchanging knowing glances with Y/N throughout the stream.

"Spencer, what are you up to over there?" Angela's curious voice broke through the focused concentration of the others.

Spencer grinned mischievously. "You'll have to wait and see, Angela. It's a surprise."

As the stream progressed, the chat buzzed with speculation about Spencer's mysterious creation. Y/N, while focused on their own clay masterpiece, couldn't help stealing glances at Spencer's work, a sense of excitement building.

Finally, it was time to reveal their creations. Shayne proudly displayed his exaggerated Ian sculpture, earning laughs and playful jabs from the others. Angela's chaotic animal mix garnered both confusion and amusement, while Chanse's phoenix drew genuine admiration for its beauty.

"Okay, Spencer, show us what you've been hiding!" Angela exclaimed eagerly.

Spencer carefully unveiled a small clay box, intricately detailed. With a flourish, he opened it to reveal a delicate clay ring nestled inside.

The room fell silent for a moment before Angela burst into laughter. "No way, Spencer! Are you pulling a fake proposal on us?"

Spencer chuckled. "Well, sort of. Y/N, will you pretend marry me with this clay ring?" He winked playfully.

Y/N played along, a grin spreading across their face. "Of course, Spencer. I'll always pretend to marry you."

The rest of the crew erupted into laughter and applause, catching on to the inside joke. Shayne teased, "Looks like Spencer's already whipped!"

Chanse, between fits of laughter, managed to say, "Congratulations, you two. I better be in the bridal party."

Spencer stood up, still holding Y/N's hand. "Actually, this fake proposal is a nod to something real. Y/N and I are getting married!"

The studio went silent in shock until it suddenly filled with cheers, hugs, and congratulations from Angela, Shayne, and Chanse. The chat exploded with excitement and well-wishes from fans.

"We wanted to share this special moment with all of you," Y/N said, smiling at Spencer. "Thank you for being part of our journey."

As the live stream came to an end, the crew continued to celebrate, the playful atmosphere and shared laughter making it a day they would always remember.

“Wait… should we still vote on the best?” Angela asked, willing to fight for her ‘cat’.

Shayne laughed before waving goodbye to the camera, “Yeah I really don’t think we need to.”

Summary: Rose is Lando's childhood best friend, who has finally landed her dream job as the social media admin for the McLaren Formula 1 team. On her first day of the job, she meets McLaren's new driver, Daniel Ricciardo, and they are off to a rocky start.

Warnings: None for now, but it will get spicier in future parts

A/N: This is a bit of a long one, but is mainly setting the scene for the rest of the chapters. It's my first time writing an enemies to lovers vibe like this so all feedback is welcomed!

Chapter One - First Impressions

15th February 2021

The sleek, modern architecture of the McLaren Technology Centre stretched before you, its glass panels gleaming under the setting sun. You took a second to breathe while taking in your surroundings before stepping inside. Today was your first day as the social media admin for McLaren. You'd dreamed of working in Formula 1 ever since you were a child, spending most of your weekends at karting tracks watching my your best friend, Lando Norris, working to achieve his own dream of reaching Formula 1. The excitement and nervousness churned within you as you adjusted your camera strap and checked your phone one last time, heading towards the entrance.

The launch of the MCL35M was in full swing, with engineers, drivers, media, influencers and other guests buzzing around the latest McLaren masterpiece. You manoeuvred through the crowd, taking a few quick pictures, but desperately searching for a familiar face.

Eventually, you spot Lando talking with his engineers, his infectious grin greeting you as you approach.

"Rose! You made it!" Lando exclaimed, pulling you in for a brief hug. "Welcome to the team!"

"Thanks, Lando," you replied with a smile. "I can't believe I'm here."

"You're going to kill it," he said confidently, bumping his shoulder into yours, before walking you around the event, introducing you to key team members and ensuring you felt at ease.

As the event progressed, you immersed myself in your new role, capturing candid moments of the team and guests, documenting interviews, and the stunning details of the newly unveiled MCL35M. You were having so much fun, it didn't feel much like work at all.

You found a chair to sit and review some of the pictures and videos you'd taken so far, when you heard someone clear their throat above you. You looked up to find Daniel Ricciardo, Lando's new team member, looking down at you with an unreadable expression. God, he's beautiful in person, you thought.

"You ever put that phone down?" he quipped, his Australian accent laced with a hint of mischief.

You straightened, caught off guard by his casual jab. "It's kind of my job," you retorted, attempting to maintain an air of professionalism.

Daniel scoffed, taking a sip of his drink. "Sure.. but don't you think you're missing out on the real action, looking at everything through a screen?"

You bristled slightly at his comment, not understanding where the hostility was coming from considering this was your first interaction. "Without this screen, no one outside of this room would get to see any of the action. I'm here to make them feel connected to the team."

Daniel leaned closer, giving you a whiff of his cologne. It would have been intoxicating if you weren't so distracted by the way he was making you feel like you were doing something wrong. "Seems to me like you're here for virtual validation. What are you, an influencer?" he said, his face twisting into a smirk.

You narrowed your eyes at him, feeling the irritation rise. "I work for McLaren, asshole," you state firmly. "I'm the social media admin, today is my first day."

His smirk faded slightly, replaced with a puzzled expression. "Oh, so you're not just here for the followers?"

"No," you replied tersely, crossing your arms defensively. "I'm here to promote you, make you look good. Seems like I have my work cut out for me."

Before Daniel could respond, Lando appeared behind him and smiled down at you. "Hey, guys," he said, oblivious to the tense atmosphere he'd just walked into. "I see you've met my best friend," he said cheerfully, clapping a hand on Daniel's shoulder.

Daniel's demeanour shifted almost imperceptibly, his mind whirring with cynical amusement. So, that's how she got the job, he thought to himself, a flicker of understanding colouring his expression. He glanced at you, his gaze lingering for a moment longer than necessary before he replied to Lando.

"Ah, yeah," Daniel replied casually, flashing a charming grin. "Just getting acquainted with the new social media whiz here."

You couldn't help but roll your eyes at Daniel's thinly veiled sarcasm, but kept your mouth shut for Lando's sake.

"That's great," Lando said. "Rose is going to do great things here," he said proudly.

"Thanks, Lando," you replied sincerely, grateful for his support despite his complete lack of awareness. With that, Lando excused himself to greet other guests, leaving you and Daniel in an awkward silence. You turned back to your work, feeling Daniel's gaze on you but choosing to ignore it, hoping he'd take the hint.

Soon enough, he sauntered off to mingle with other guests, and you let out a breath you didn't know you'd been holding. You couldn't help but feel disappointed at your first interaction with the Australian driver, who had always seemed like a genuinely nice person. You sighed, deciding that perhaps that was all a product of the marketing teams for his previous F1 teams. You really did have your work cut out for you.

As the event drew to a close, Lando found you once again. "Hey, you," he beamed. "A few of us are going for a drink if you wanna join?"

"I'd love to," you replied gratefully, eager to relax after a busy day.

As you settled in to the booth at a nearby bar, Lando held up his glass. "To Rose," he smiled across at you. "Congratulations on your first day." Everyone raised their glasses towards you, offering you their congratulations. You got to know everyone, feeling a real sense of family among the team.

Mid-conversation, Daniel sauntered into the bar, approaching the booth. "Hey, everyone," he greeted, exchanging nods and hellos with the team before settling in next to Lando.

"Daniel, good to see you," Lando greeted warmly. "We're just celebrating Rose's first day with the team."

Daniel's eyes briefly flickered to me, an unreadable expression on his face. "Oh, Rose, I almost didn't recognise you without your nose buried in your phone," he remarked, with that awful smug expression crossing his face once again.

You roll your eyes at him, the irritation you felt towards him earlier returning instantly. "Believe it or not, work isn't the only thing I do."

"Right, work. Must be nice working with your best bud here, eh?" He says, tilting his head towards Lando. "Always good to have friends in high places."

Your expression tightened, detecting the jab in his words. You resist the urge to react impulsively, knowing it won't help your cause. "Sure, connections matter, but so does competence," you reply, voice tinged with frustration.

Lando, finally sensing the atmosphere between you and Daniel for the first time this evening, gently placed his hand on the table. "Okay, we're meant to be celebrating! I think it's time for more drinks," he suggested with a bright smile, attempting to diffuse the tension.

As Lando headed to the bar, the conversation shifted to the upcoming season. They discussed the challenges of the new regulations, the dynamics within the team, and the potential of the new car. You found it difficult to engage fully, your mind still preoccupied with Daniel's pointed remarks.

Daniel sat back in his seat and took a sip of his drink, turning his head towards you. "So, Rose, tell me more about how you landed this gig." he quizzed, voice tinged with doubt.

You sighed inwardly, steeling yourself against his probing. "I went through the hiring process like everyone else," you replied evenly, keeping your tone neutral.

Daniel raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Ah, but you must have had a leg up, right?" he pressed.

You looked into his eyes for the first time since he sat down, your frustration reaching a new level. "I don't know what you're implying, but I earned my place here," you asserted firmly.

"Sure, but sleeping with a driver must have helped." He said, nodding towards Lando.

"Excuse me?"

"Oh come on, no need to be embarrassed. You're not the only one," he said with the smirk that seemed to be permanently etched into his features.

"You're disgusting." you shot back, the words slipping out louder than intended as you pushed back from the table, rising to your feet just as Lando returned to the table with a tray of drinks.

"Woah, everything okay over here?" he asked, glancing between you and Daniel.

You met Lando's gaze, your frustration evident. "Yeah, I think I'm done here," you replied avoiding Daniel's gaze, knowing he'd be relishing in your outburst.

Lando's expression softened with concern as you grabbed your bag. "Are you sure? It's still early," he said gently, placing the drinks on the table.

You nodded, trying to muster a reassuring smile. "Yeah, it's been a long day. I just need to get some rest."

"Okay, get home safe," Lando said, pulling you in for a hug before you said your goodbyes to the rest of the team. Daniel leaned back in his seat, not looking at you. His expression was unreadable, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes - a hint of regret or realisation, perhaps.

Outside of the bar, the cool night air offered a moment of relief. You took a moment to collect your thoughts, trying to shake off the tension that had built up over the evening. This wasn't how your first day was meant to go.

Driving home, you reflected on the evening's events. This was your dream job, and you were going to fight to prove you belonged here. You knew from the get-go that this was a male dominated sport, and you weren't about to let Daniel Ricciardo, or anyone for that matter, make you feel like you didn't deserve your place. His scepticism was just another hurdle to overcome.

just a plotless fluffy block of writing about how whipped Matty is for Y/N. (first time writing for Matty)

Matty woke up early in the morning, feeling the warmth of the sun's first rays seeping through the curtains. He looked over to see Y/N sleeping soundly beside him, facing him, her chest rising and falling with each breath. He couldn't help but smile as he gazed at her, her beauty taking his breath away.

He brushed a strand of hair away from her face, reveling in the softness of her skin. To him, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He loved the way she smiled, the way she laughed, and the way she looked at him with those sparkling eyes.

God, he thought she was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. He knew he had never seen anyone as beautiful as Y/N. Every time he looked at her, he was struck by her stunning features. He loved the way her hair fell in loose strands around her face, the way her eyes glimmered when she smiled, and the way her lips formed a perfect pout that he loved kissing.

Y/N was more than just beautiful. Etheral, yes. But it was also her character that drew him to her. She was kind, funny, and intelligent, and he was constantly in awe of her. He loved the way she laughed at his jokes, the way she listened to him when he talked, and the way she always seemed to know just what he needed.

Matty knew that Y/N was beautiful both inside and out. He loved the way she cared for others, always putting their needs before her own. He admired her intelligence, her drive, and her unwavering determination to succeed in everything she did.

Matty couldn't help but stare at Y/N in wonder. He loved the way she moved, the way she talked, and the way she just seemed to light up the room.

Y/N was a work of art, a masterpiece that he was lucky enough to have in his life. He knew that she was special, and he cherished every moment they spent together.

He would often tell Y/N how beautiful she was, but he knew that his words could never do her justice. She was simply too perfect, too stunning, too amazing for words. Matty was grateful every day for the gift of Y/N's presence in his life. He knew that he would never find anyone else like her, and he thanked his lucky stars that she was his.

As he continued to gaze at her, he thought about how much he loved her. Y/N had helped him become the person he is today, and he was grateful for every moment he had with her. She had changed his outlook on life, made him appreciate the small things, and showed him what true love was.

He couldn't imagine his life without her. Y/N was the light in his life, the one who had filled his days with joy and happiness. Matty knew he would never find anyone else like her, and he cherished every moment they spent together.

Matty leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on Y/N's forehead, feeling her stir in her sleep. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer, savoring the feel of her warm body against his.

He knew he was head over heels in love with her. Y/N was his everything, and he would do anything for her. He wanted to make her feel special, to show her how much she meant to him.

Matty closed his eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of Y/N's hair. He felt his heart swell with love and admiration, and he couldn't help but whisper to her, "You have no clue, do you?" And let it simmer out into the open for a few seconds, all while his dark eyes continued to trickle over his girl’s face, “how much I adore you.”

In the quiet area of your tattoo parlor, you carefully worked on a stunning piece of art onto a paper near you, ecstatic when you finally figured out what to add onto a tattoo on your client's skin.

Little did you know that your life was about to take an unexpected turn, for better or for worse, you were about to find out—one that would match two lonely souls together. You and Regulus Black.

The door to your quaint little shop swung open, and a tall man stepped into the shop. His whole demeanor intrigued you. His clothes were sleek yet looked almost comfortable. He carried himself nicely. Maybe a businessman, you thought.

Yet there was something in his deep dark eyes that made your stomach curl up into itself. For some reason, a glint in his eyes showed fear and vulnerability. You brushed it aside, you were never good at reading people anyways.

With a warm smile, you approached Regulus, ready to offer your help to the man in front of you. "Welcome. How can I assist you today?" you asked him, tying your hair up, the rubber band in your mouth.

Regulus's voice was laced with both determination and- embarrassment? "I'm here to cover this up" he said, his voice quivering a bit as he pulled his sleeve up, showcasing his forearm.

You blinked. Then blinked again.

Your heart swelled with admiration for his courage to start up against the death eaters and you softly smiled taking his name.

Nodding in understanding, you guided him to a comfortable chair in front of a mirror.

"Anything you had in mind?" you asked him as he sat down in the chair in front of you.

"Anything to hide it" he nodded at you, making eye contact with you for about 5 seconds before staring back at the floor, blush crawling up his neck.

As you prepared your tools, the air around you both was silent but comfortable. Your hands moved the needle with precision and experience. You didn't only pigment his skin, but his heart as well. Each stroke of the sharp needle was done with care and signified one more chain broken from the death eaters by Regulus.

As you were concentrating on the tattoo, a question suddenly popped into your head.

"Why?" you asked him bluntly, quickly shaking your head and ducking your head back down, ashamed at what you had just asked.

"It's alright, love. I want to leave my past behind and embrace a new chapter,' he said and shrugged, quietly apologizing as you almost messed up the art on his skin.

As the transformation unfolded, Regulus watched intently, his gaze locked on the masterpiece. The skull morphing into the head of a bird on his forearm. The dark mark faded away slowly, wings taking its place-a phoenix rising from the ashes of the mark, its wings ablaze with vibrant colors of red and yellow.

Regulus's eyes widened in awe, his jaw dropping ever so slightly, allowing a deep breath to fill his lungs before squeezing his eyes shut. A mixture of disbelief and gratitude coursed through his veins. "It's... incredible," he whispered, rotating his arm, his voice filled with wonder.

You smiled, feeling a profound connection blossoming between you. "It represents your journey, Regulus" you said, trying his name out on your tongue. It was quite charming.

"The phoenix symbolizes rebirth. You've become a new person" you said but slightly cringed at the second sentence. How would he feel knowing that some random stranger was guessing things about him.

Fortunately, Regulus nodded.

Regulus's fingers grazed the fresh ink, and as he looked up, his eyes met yours, a spark of something more than gratitude for the art flickering between you. "Thank you," he murmured, his voice sincere and soft.

After Regulus had almost paid for the tattoo (you insisted it was on the house), you sat back down, continuing the art.

You noticed something was off with the picture though. A small number was written on the top of the page. A phone number. You internally squealed and smiled softly.

But there was something else too. The picture was now fully finished, a completed butterfly lying on the page in front of you.

He completed the picture. Just like how he completed you.

Summary: Post ending with Spawn Astarion. Based on this event in the Free the Artist quest where Astarion gets his portrait painted by Oskar Fevras.

CW: None, mostly sweet stuff.

Astarion follows the line that shapes a perfectly handsome jaw, chin tilted down just so with lips pursed suggesting a self-satisfied smile. It’s a masterpiece of his own making. Well, with some encouragement.

“One of us deserves to decorate the High Hall and the most beautiful of us are at Elfsong.”

“Darling, you are so very funny. They won’t get anything done with this stunning face watching over them.”

His words purred with confidence then, to quell his misgivings. A part of him feared being a stranger to what the world saw. What his companions saw. Still, he sat for the portrait and he maintained his posture like a consummate professional. When the artist unveiled his finished work, it left Astarion speechless, incapable of performative vanity. His partner on the other hand:

“A good likeness. Though I prefer the real thing.”

His love knew well to downplay the artwork, the effect it had on Astarion, and move on. After all, they had a Netherbrain to defeat and saving Oskar Fevras was such a fucking ordeal, he was glad for it to be over.

The pale elf focuses on red eyes shaded with such depth they feel alive. It is a good likeness, he can agree, and really every time he sees the portrait he’s further convinced of its stunning accuracy. It hangs in the reading room of their home, adjacent to the bedroom where they don’t keep mirrors. His love manages by catching his reflection in polished steel or shop windows. He doesn’t mind at all. Astarion’s heightened senses catch footsteps ascending followed by the click of pins in a set of locks he installed personally.

“I’m in the reading room,” Astarion calls out.

“Hello to you too,” Angelus calls back, “I have the lavender you asked for.”

“You are perfect,” the pale elf sighs, having perfected the art of the theatrical.

He stretches on their pillowed daybed, causing a low rumble to erupt from his lap. The cat hops to the open window facing a dusk sky and gives Astarion a condemning look before disappearing. “You’ll be back,” he says to the feline’s exit.

“Was it the gray one or the black one,” Angelus asks as he enters the room, catching only the tail end of the cat’s departure. He is carrying several stems of lavender.

“Not the gray one you’re thinking of.” Astarion stands to inspect the stems. They’re fresh and every bud is intact. “These will do nicely. Thank you, my sweet.”

He takes them and places the stems on the ledge just below the painting.

“Is that what it’s for?” Had the half-elf known he would have acquired two dozen pink and white ranunculus for Astarion. Yet he also recalls what Astarion has said about flowers before, something something overrated and they never make good poisons. What a contradiction.

“For now.” Astarion turns to him, arms spread and gesturing over the flowers. “I think it looks rather nice. Aesthetic and fragrant.”

This isn’t why he wanted the lavender, but it is funny.

His love tracks the journey from Astarion’s fingertips to the center of his chest. His muscularity is evident under the drape of his shirt, the pale elf selects fabric with purpose. From the center he draws his gaze upwards over fair skinned clavicle to his neck and its two subtle points of interest. The artist didn’t catch those details as Astarion had worn a high collar that day.

His eyes follow the lines that frame up a perfectly handsome face under thick moon white curls. His partner fixates on the pale elf’s mouth pulled into a satisfied smile.

“I think you look nice,” Angelus says casually, disarming Astarion with simple words. It leaves Astarion wanting more.

“Dear, don’t tell me. Show me.”

Astarion curls his fingers, beckoning his love to indulge him, and his love delivers with bridled passion. Angelus’ hands are on the other’s body, grip firm to pull them together. Their lips press in a solid kiss that seems to last an eternity. Curiously dark eyelashes drop as he embraces the gesture.

You are so beautiful.

Astarion imagines what they must look like, kissing under the very painting that informs his vision. He imagines the tilt of their chins when their mouths meet sweetly, their tongues exposed when they fuck ravenously, their expressions when the sun goes down and they’re still curled up in bed. It feels good, it feels good to have a face, to be seen. Not just by his love or by the world but by the one who should matter most.

I am so beautiful.

Finally they part but Astarion’s hand lingers on his partner’s face, cupping his cheek. He will never stop wanting this and this could never stop bringing him joy. His palm straightens to pat the other’s jaw.

“We should discuss our next contract over wine. There’s a lucrative opportunity headed towards Athkatla.”

“We’ll have to capture it before it sails away.”

As they leave the room Astarion glances at his portrait once more. The placement of flowers could suggest a grave but there’s nothing dead and buried here. He decides it’s more like a modest altar to his beauty in body, mind, and soul. Astarion smiles.

towl ep. 4 spoilers:....

OMFG I AM UNWEELLLLL

So first: I wanna thank Danai and the universe for this masterpiece. I also wanna thank the universe for my current existence and the opportunity to watch what I have just seen with my fucking eyes.

I don't know where to start. It was all I had ever expected of this show. It was almost like a richonne fanfiction, because it dived into so many side topics (I bet Danai got some inspiration, you can not tell me she did not know about our illusions). It was drama, pure love, even heartbreak and comedy all in one episode. It was the first time I was glad an ep. was over 'cause otherwise I would've hyperventilated. I usually don't like all of this romantic 'oh I love you' 'but noo uhhh' but this show and this couple especially makes me feel unwell. My personal favs of the ep. (Basically all of it)

The already mentioned fanfic vibe, the michonne getting undressed and Rick just watching and admiring (can't blame him, I do too), the mention of RJ, the conflict and trauma Rick feels, michonnes frustration with him, the scene (if you know what I mean) +rick needing to pause for a moment, the reference to their last scene together in bed, the fucking robot which Rick obviously does not know about since the apocalypse started in 2010s. The mention of Carl (still not over it), seeing Rick in a sweater and Michonne in that top is just fierce and of course the elevator and car scene are you fucking kidding me. And so much more...

You don't understand how stunned I am. I could start a 2 hours long monologue just about this one episode... I can't function tomorrow

Our Man Bashir S4 E10

Saw this episode for the first time this week. There were so many little touches that made the episode a perfect parody of the Bond aesthetic. It payed tribute to classic James Bond (Sean Connery and it even teased the silly nature of Roger Moore's Bond).

The opening sequence of a villain crashing through glass with a follow up KO by the champagne cork was a lovely campy tribute. It had a Our Man Flint with James Coburn vibe! Try those if you like Bond parodies.

The Bondesque portrayal of Bashir works well. It both fits the desire he has to be heroic, to be more alluring and charismatic, and to take confidence in life outside the holosuite. Julian already is those things though. He just needs help realizing that sometimes. He was heroic in Hippocratic Oath when he stood for the lost Jem'Hadar. In his medical domain he is charismatic and in charge. All of his interactions with Garak show his subtle and alluring personality. He is on his journey of gaining confidence and with each passing episode he gains more self-esteem.

We all were admiring Julian just like Garak is. Look at that sweet face. Garak recognizes Julian's chance at character growth as his spy persona. By taking him under his wing, Garak can help him develop as a man of mystery!

The clothing is also perfect. Fashion was nailed for a Bond film parody. The high class tuxedos and the casual sweaters! We only missed out on the incredibly short-short-short-swim-shorts that Sean Connery seemed to love.

Miles as the main evil henchman was an excellent choice. Silly falcon eyepatch was just a bonus. It was nice to see a little spy gadget used by Bashir as well. Gotta have those!

I will make of gif of it later, but Worf blew a genuine smoke ring at one point. The white tux also looked amazing. More Klingons should wear white! It would be great for battle too. Showcases all the blood of their enemies.

Another A+ costume designed by the fabulous Trek Costume designers. The flair, the jewelry, all just works with that stunning Bajoran. She also played the Russian accent really well (not that I am an accent expert). Underneath this holosuite persona though we still enjoy Nana Visitor's warm smile. Nothing can stop her from making all our hearts melt!

Dr. Honey Bare....of course there would be a silly name like that. I wish Dax's character was treated less as plot device, but as a parody of older Bond movies I see the placement and and ridiculousness of it. It did feel like the cast enjoyed making fun of it.

This gem....I cannot even begin to state my delight over this single high pitched chort....giggle...laugh? What even is it? I knew of this gif out of context but now having seen the episode I see that Sisko was the deranged villain set out to destroy the world so he could create his human 2.0 sex island.

Above all of this, we must give the spotlight to the REAL hero. Rom. He is an absolute genius!!!! I love that he is so intelligent. Sure, Lt. Mr. Little Boy Eddington was there too, Odo helped a bunch, and Quark wanted to show off his jacket, but Rom saved the day. Rom singlehandedly saved the entire main cast. On the fly he rigged up an engineering masterpiece in a Frankenstein's monster way. Under incredible pressure with try or die high stakes, he pioneered a solution. I sure hope that Rom can be the star of the show more often in the coming seasons. He is a brilliantly written Ferengi and a well acted character. A loving and supportive father, caring brother, talented engineer, and an all around good friend to everyone.

For me, this episode surprisingly became a "wow, I love Rom" episode. Of course, I enjoyed and can see how iconic and quintessentially Star Trek the entire Bond tribute plot was, but this episode is about Rom for me as much as it is about Bashir and anything else.

I am glad that I can share my first watch of DS9 with all you lovely people. Thank you for sharing all your insights and passion for DS9 and Star Trek as a franchise with me.

1. The Secret of Moonacre (2009)

Jesus Christ I love this movie. It’s based on a book that is bad, but it was made into a movie that is my favorite thing in the world, me and my sister watch it ALL the time.

There’s just so much to love about it. It’s a fantastical movie that I don’t want to spoil, but it’s got magic, it’s got 2008 CGI, it’s got fairytale worlds, it’s got so many queer undertones that it’s insane, it’s got historically inaccurate but stunning costumes, sets and scenery to DIE for, some of my favorite scenes in movie history just for the whimsy of it all, and Tim Curry.

The main character Maria is LITERALLY just me, and very Jemima coded, and you’ll see why if you watch the movie, I cannot recommend it enough. Someday I should do fanart

And it’s got this gayass mcr teenage guyfailure silly boy with eyeliner who my sister clocked as gay the MINUTE he walked on screen.

(Why do people keep doing that to me. First with this, then my friend with Misto (HOW DID HE DO THAT??? IT WAS THE FIRST LINE!!!))

2. Clue (1985) and Glass Onion (2022)

I LOVE detective and crime movies that are focused on shenanigans, aesthetics, and actually SOLVING the crimes. So much of true crime to me is just ‘and then the violent and misogyny person ate 8 children 😔’ like okay. Thank you.

I actually can’t stand it and that’s why I like murder mysteries more than thrillers.

Clue is hysterical and has shaped my humor to an insane degree, my dad and I quote it each other all of the time. The murder mystery element is incomprehensible but the shenanigans are so good that you don’t even notice the entire movie is nonsense until the end. 10/10 no notes.

Glass Onion is a masterpiece. Eat the rich <3. Also they should keep making Knives Out movies forever.

3. Wait Till Helen Comes (2016) and Bluebeard (2009)

OBSCURE INDIE FILM GIRLIES UNTIE!!! I’m a huge fan of movies that are spooky, but not horror, and these movies delivers on both accounts, at least for me. Also they’re free on YouTube :))) double win!!!!

WTHC was one of my FAVORITE books as a kid, (alongside like. Dork diaries and Frozen Charlotte), so when I saw it was a movie on YouTube I lost my mind. Watched it in the middle of the night at my great-aunts house while writing horror fanfiction. Truly the teenage dream.

It’s SO crazy to me, atmospheric, makes almost no sense, but is still one of my favorites.

Bluebeard is Bluebeard :)) so so good, in French, watched it for the first time about two weeks ago? And my computer started screaming at me. Like actual screams. Super creepy. I love the acting, I love the ambiguous ending that is SUPER dark and abstract. What was going on there. I love it.

WAKE UP DAYS UNION COMMUNITY.

Words cannot describe the cotton candy whimsy I felt while watching this. This ongoing AU made me laugh, cry (a lot), and roll off my couch. Lots of lore and dedication is in this, so PLEASE I'm begging everyone to watch this. Support the creator to continue her works and treat her with absolute respect because my god, she is incredible.

Rant down below. Spoilers, YOU SHOULD WATCH FIRST.

I literally want to worship the creator. I have so much goddamn respect and feel so inspired by her dedication. To make long videos with quality comics that make me laugh, cry, and explode? If I had that motivation, there would be a whole Days Union movie franchise about Vale!Days Union. GOD SHE'S INCREDIBLE.

I love her textbook personalities for the operatives. I love how she portrays how UN-TEXTBOOK some of them are becoming! LIKE RADIANT. BOY. Someone give my man a hug and a hot chocolate. The fact that Radiant---despite trying to keep morale up---has breakdowns and low moments but STILL TRIES ANYWAY? And when the other operatives cough Macabre cough throw shade at him for having those low moments??? All the "stick to your [CODE]" stuffs?????????? BRO. I have never felt more dehumanized in my life. I have never felt so much grief for a character in my life.

To be rebuilt and revived how many times, to go through such traumatic experiences, to be locked up and forgotten for HOW MANY YEARS??? Bro, I would NOT be so radiant. I would lose my goddamn mind no matter how much of my body has been replaced with programming and robotic parts. Give Radiant some space, we all have low moments and that poor man needs to catch a break!

Also, Macabre. I don't like him for being an asshole, but---I also like him for being an asshole. Abandoned!Macabre is probably the most asshole-y Macabre I've ever encountered in my life, and I'm ancient. He gives the story so much flavour, has so much inner character conflict (I feel), and so much more. I hate you Macabre for being a dick, but also thank you for being a dick. You're a real one.

The other operatives that are currently present, Benevolent, Practical, Dynamic. They have their own inner conflicts and struggle, too. They're all so so so just. (shakes them around) DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON BENEVOLENT AND HIS DRUG ADDICTION. I MIGHT ACTUALLY GO FERAL./POS

The topics this AU delves into is absolutely soul crushing in a very good way. Isolation/abandonment, drug addiction, possible depression, cannibalism, etc. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but I am not one, and I really love the topics added into the lore. It makes the story so two-dimensional, so much more than the old tale of being abandoned and forgotten like toys in the attic. The depth that the creator adds into the AU is stunning. I cried (and I don't cry easily). Especially when Radiant told his story about being locked up in the theatre. My god you can't give me a story more tragic than that. Move along Shakespeare, a new masterpiece is in town.

AND LORE. If you've been reading my stuffs, you know I'm a sucker for lore, so I'm super happy to say that Abandoned AU has amazing lore! It goes into backstories, how the operatives operate (badum tss), and even the ethnicities and their separate traits??? HELLO. LORE. I LOVE LORE.

I wanted to specifically call out the part where Practical mentions training for Cassie and Simar, but Benevolent slides in like "None of us specializes in fighting, how do we train them?" . I love the headcanon that every operative specializes in a certain field. They all have their areas of expertise! I know this isn't a new headcanon, but I really love the call out made. Little details like these send my little heart into cardiac arrest. :D And just imagine future scenarios! The operatives and kids get into a fight with a horde of night creatures, and one of the kids is severely hurt. They would go to Benevolent for help, right? But what if Benevolent was really hurt, too? BOOM. Plot! Motive! Angst!

All in all, I love the AU thus far. I love every single detail, big and small, and the overall concept of being left and forgotten. It's such a simple summary, but there's so much depth that I'll probably happily drown.

Please give the creator 100% respect and support. Cheer her on and PLEASE watch her videos, not just the series. The little clips in her Youtube Shorts are so well animated and absolutely hilarious, and I highly recommend that you watch those too if you haven't already!

Hi there!

I found you from your beautiful, stunning, nothing short of perfect fic, Incendiary! Apologies if you don’t want new fans/ commenters (feel free to ignore this message if it’s a lot!)

But because reviews were turned off I just had to let you know how amazing the fic was - somehow! This is not an attempt to ask you about your next chapter status or anything like that but to really applaud you for the work you’ve given us for FREE. I think zutara fans in general have felt alienated by the community (esp when creators of the show have openly mocked us) so finding like minded people & quality fics are seriously one of the things that make me so happy.

My brain rot with Zutara died a few years again & then I started watching the live action … saw the infamous scarf scene and well spiraled right back in. Last time I was obsessed with the pairing, was before your fic. So when I stumbled over it this round I ate it up within 2 days … despite having to be up early haha. It was such a master piece even as I write this comment I’m in awe. I wanted to leave detailed reviews on each chapter but honestly the way you built the story, woven canon elements into it & structured the dialogue was breath taking. You brought back so many details and even though it’s canon divergent - everything made sense. It’s not one of those ‘it’s outrageous but for the sake of the fic whatever’, it actually worked WELL.

The characters would do those things had it been a more mature show, aged up, different circumstances. I love that. I also appreciated the lack of focus on kataang and having Katara be more than just a trophy - she felt so true to her essence. I’m not sure what I was even looking for scrolling absentmindedly thought Ao3 but finding your masterpiece was really not something I’d dream of. I did think loosely of a forced proximity, marriage trope for them and you executed in such a satisfying way. I can say that I am so so happy for coming across this. I think I’ve learned alot from the way you write as well. You did such a good job with some of the sequencing and ahhh just a true delight and joy to read.

All this to say I’m so very thankful for your contribution to zutara nation!! You gave the fandom such a priceless gift I know incendiary will be a fic I come back to often to reread and marvel. I hope everything is well with you🫶🏼

It's interesting you mention the alienation of the zutara fandom in relation to other parts of the fandom, it's actually something I ponder a lot. Fandom dynamics are so interesting in general to me, and every fandom is a little different. I am not a Zutara veteran by any means, I sauntered in quite late to the party and I don't really interact much with other parts of the fandom nor in any discourse, but even to reclusive old me I think it's fairly obvious that the creators deciding it was a great idea to essentially declare open season on personally insulting a large portion of the fandom based on fictional shipping tastes had a pretty large impact on how the atla fandom interacts lol.

Which is, of course, a shame, but cultivating fun, relaxing spaces is still thankfully possible, and I do think that the loud troublemakers (regardless of ship) are a small percentage of fandom; the chill people are usually just quieter and have to be actively found. I am sooo glad my fic could deliver some joy and feeling of like-mindedness for you :)

Urusei Yatsura Art Book Review!

Before I get into the review, I want to gush about how much I adore this book, the series as a whole, and its characters! I started watching the 2022 anime, after seeing a clip of it. The art style is so cute and very colorful!

Prepare for a long read!

I've been keeping up with this series a lot lately, I recommend it if you like slice-of-life mixed with some silliness (and great animation)! Recently, I started watching the original series, which is just as amazing as this one- there's also things that weren't shown (yet?) in the 2022 version of the series. I would like to read the original manga soon, too!

Time for the book review! Please note that I'm not showing things in any particular order, and that I'm mainly going to be talking about how cool stuff is lol. I got the book from Ebay (that's what I use the most), and it arrived safe and sound a few weeks later.

The cover art is really cute, especially with the two chibis on the bottom left! I really love how they went about shading Lum's hair in this iteration of the character. I don't have any translations for anything in this book, unfortunately, but we can still appreciate the art!

Upon opening the book, there is a poster that unfolds- above is the front:

And here is the back! The art on both sides is really charming, and the backgrounds are absolutely stunning, especially in that front image. There's just something about it that I really like, from Ataru and Lum's interaction, and the lighting: it works together so well!

On the flipside, all of the characters running is really fun to look at- each character is running (or flying) in a different way, it's subtle, but it shows a small piece of their personality, in a sense.

This is the page before the character design section of the book, which is absolutely stunning: The artists use a lot of patterns and shapes, and I'm all here for it!

One thing I really enjoy about character design is the expressions, and the various outfits the characters are drawn in. Each character has their own unique sense of fashion! I like Ataru's clothing choice, it's stuff that I could see myself wearing- comfy long sleeved tops and simple, cute button downs!

The expressions are so cutesy and cartoonish, I can't get enough of it! As a character artist myself, these pages are great references on how to go about fleshing out my own characters.

Here is Lum's character sheet, as well as the expression part of Mendo's- his expressions are extra silly so I added them!

This art for the Highlight and Staff Interviews are super cute! Lum's outfit with the suspenders is adorable- and the fact Ataru's outfit is coordinated makes it all the more cute!

The visuals for the opening and endings are stunning- I have to sit and watch them each time, plus the music that accompanies it makes it even better! I need to go back and watch it frame by frame, its a masterpiece~ I can't get over the use of color in this series, it's amazing!!! Take a closer look at the visuals here, it's worth it!

And check out the channel I got these from (UruYatsu Sensei), they've got full episodes of another series by the same creator, Maison Ikkoku, and a few Urusei Yatsura episodes as well. I appreciate them uploading these, because all the other ones were those interpolated 60 FPS nonsense (ugh).

man I really CANNOT stop thinking about enfer's interrogation. this woman went through so much misery to become who she is as both a person and an artist.

imagine you have to witness your own father murder your mother in front of you just so he could turn her into a statue and create his masterpiece that would bring him all the fame he will earn in the art world?

and to then in return have to kill him and also turn him into a statue as a way to reclaim what he's taken from you, just for that to also be the piece that will make you a critically acclaimed artist.

she calls herself the ruler of fear but has herself feared nothing more than to face her past and confront her own demons that have haunted her ever since the night she witnessed her father kill her mother.

and the fact that the love and grief for her mother was so strong that she would subconsciously always carve a heart into whatever creations she made, which she only realised while revisiting the scene where the witching hour took place. and all this time The False One (her father) made her think that love has been holding her back as both a person and an artist, that it stopped her from creating the perfect piece she's so desperately wanted to create.

just for her to overcome her past and make love her running force, make it the thing that now makes her grow as a person.

Pure fear can grant you immense power to go forward, but it can't get you out of the abyss. It'll only turn you into part of it. A moth doesn't break the cocoon to purify herself. The intricate patterns and colors are her stunning features too. You said she would burn in the flame... But who can say that the moth only has fear in her heart when she plunges into the flame? Maybe, she loves the flame, and that's why whe plunges into it unwaveringly despite her fear?

that is what chief said to her that finally made her reinterpret her view on love, especially in combination with how she wants to implement fear within her artworks, and made her stop fearing it.

her mother was the one who taught her what true love was, and her father was the one who taught her what true fear was.

It's all thanks to love... that I can survive in this living hell. And even in a world like this, someone has told me that... just like terror, love can become my power too.

I am the ruler of fear, so I will not fear love... I will carve through it... Make love part of my power, so I can keep on creating, tearing, and reincarnating... Until the most perfect artwork is created.
