The thing that peeves me off about people saying Alastor would never bottom because of his EGO (besides everything you said about Lucifer's ego) is that it also shows such a patriarchal-ly drenched heterosexual view of sex, that they then apply to a MLM ship that drives me INSANE.

They think Top means big, strong man domineering over the small, soft, gentle woman (the bottom) and it's like, that's such a regressive view of heterosexual sex to begin with but now you're trying to apply that to two dudes. Especially two dudes like Alastor and Lucifer, who both have massive egos and other personal hangups that would shine through during an intimate moment with the two of them.

Like, if you think Alastor wouldn't bottom cause he always wants to be in control, but you think control and manipulation can only happen as the top? That the bottom has no power or control over the act? Maybe because I'm ace, but the idea that the bottom doesn't have any control is so weird to me? I'm not even talking about power bottom dynamics either, the bottom controls so much of the act (if it's consensual) cause if they don't like something, it ain't happening.

Because that's exactly what it is. In almost every patriarchal, heteronormative relationship, the man is seen as the top and always portrayed as big, dominant, and strong. Wheras the women is seen as the bottom, and portrayed as soft, submissive, sweet, and--a lot of the time--naive and innocent.

I hate the patriarchal, heteronormative view's of sex as it is, but GOD, I forget how messed up it is sometimes. It is, as you said, incredibly regressive. More often then not, it creates this unhealthy, pre-established dynamic between two people (usually a man and a women) that completely disregards how they might actually feel about a relationship and what their sexual preferences for a relationship is. And anything OTHER than this pre-established dynamic is seen as "other," or "not normal."

So taking THAT and putting it onto queer relationships just ljsfnlsjgbl it makes me want to rip my hair out.

Anon it's like you're reaching inside my brain and pulling out all of my thoughts, and I love you for it.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people use power dynamics interchangeable with top and bottom. Those two things are not the same. Submissive and bottom are not the same thing. Dominant and top are not the same thing.

Top and bottom (and switch!) is a preferred sexual position. Submission and Dominance (BDSM) is a consensual power-exchange in a pre-determined scene between two or more people.

Someone being a top does not automatically give them more power over the bottom. Or, at least, it shouldn't. There is no agreed upon power exchange. The person topping doesn't have more control than the person bottoming, nor should they.

And I completely agree, Anon. I've always been so weirded out, and unnerved, when bottoms are portrayed as not having as much control in sexual situation than tops. It grosses me out, honestly. I find it very icky, especially when it's perceived as the norm.

Not me copy-and-pasting nearly all of your ask (LMAO) but I just love the points you're making. I have no problem with people having a preference for who tops and who bottoms. Fandom is supposed to be fun, and I want people to have fun. Like you, I generally only interact with bottom!Alastor, and so, I leave top!Alastor content alone.

It's when people try to argue that certain characters can't or won't top/bottom, because of a list of stupid reasons they make up, that I start losing my patience. Especially when their basis for who tops and bottoms is judged on ego or how much of a control freak a character is. People are not that black and white. People are complex and multi-faceted.

And, I know, sometimes people just want to read smut. They want pure filth (amen to that 🙏), and enjoy having a specific character be a submissive bottom and the other a dominant top. Just don't try and push that onto other people by arguing against a dynamic that you don't like. It's weird.

not a headcanon but how do you think ghost would handle a girl on his team who is very open, very friendly with everyone, tactile, kind of outgoing yk. she gets along perfectly well with soap, gas price etc.

I think about it, and I really wonder how it would go with simon!

You know, I really think Ghost just naturally has a very high tolerance and acceptance for those who seem more open and extroverted (I mean, he very clearly gets on well with Soap, who couldn't be less like Simon personality wise in so many ways), but I also think he adapts somewhat to those around him who he feels comfortable with, for example him cracking a bunch of puns and dark jokes with Johnny.

So with a tactile and outgoing newbie, someone who has no qualms about diving onto Soap's back, a teammate she's had for little over a week, I think despite taking some time to get used to, Ghost would enjoy the energy you bring (as long as it stays off the battlefield, that is. after all, he's all work no play when it comes to missions).

Also I don't know if this is a controversial opinion, but I don't feel like Simon is particularly possessive, or the type to get jealous. He's not stupid, he'd be able to tell if you had a crush on him, and would easily be able to decipher the difference between the way you lightly pat Johnny's shoulder, and the feeling of your fingers as they curl into his bicep, not so subtly feeling up the muscle under his jacket whilst you attempt to make small talk. After all, what does he have to be jealous of when he sees the way you look at him? Eyes molten under fluttering lashes, far too brazen for a public space.

He'd let your flirting go on for months before he ever even attempted to act on it, after all this is a man who likes the chase, enjoys the slow build of irresistible tension; brushes of your hand against his thigh during meetings, his chest plastered to your back, large hands encompassing yours after you asked him for some pointers on aiming.

idk where this idea came from but I have a headcannon that the TV in the rec room is just lowkey the worst. Old, slow, and the base is out in the middle of nowhere so it limits a lot of their TV options.

Don't have streaming because it requires a payment/subscription and something about not being able to hook it up to an account/being on a military base/not safe to have clues to their money or personal lives (I know nothing about the military forgive me). They do have cable but because their base is in the middle of buttfuck nowhere they get only the strangest, most low-production channels out there.

I saw a youtube video a while ago about a British reality TV show where a female contestant is shown a bunch of dicks, nothing else, and she has to decide who she'd want to go out with based on that alone 😂😂 it was completely uncensored, so dicks would just be fully hanging out there. that's the type of shit that they get on the cable in the rec room LMFAO

feel like the only option for personalized TV/movies is the old DVD player hooked up to the TV (that was there when they moved into the place 😭) so the boys constantly have a collection of DVDs they're always rewatching, or they buy new ones/ship them in when there's something new they want to watch

I'm the type of person who will watch bad movies or reality TV shows just so I can giggle at them, so I FULLY believe that the pack would find some shitty knock-off reality TV show and lock in to watch the new episode every week together

if the boys and/or 'mega ever want to watch something popular/that would usually be on streaming they just have to get it off some backstreet website or something like that (they have burner laptops specifically for this purpose)

I own The Last Of Us (it came with my PS4 when I bought it four years ago) but I still haven't played it because I suck at playing games lol. I go through cycles of playing for hours everyday and then not touching it for weeks and weeks.

Ever since puppet reader got their kintsugi, they have been terrified of thunder and lightning. Hearing thunder would make them freeze for a moment; even seeing the the flash of lightning from the closed blinds of the window would make them shiver.

Now imagine Scara out on a dark cloudy day, doing his own daily business, when he sees a big flash of lightning in the distance followed by a loud boom of thunder and rain starting to fall. Scara knows what is happening and starts making his way home as fast as he could, errands forgotten. By the time he gets home, the storm is in full swing. Once inside, he finds puppet reader curled into a ball in the corner of the room, hands on their ears, and shaking. And Scara just goes to sit besides them, wrapping them in his arms, and just cuddles them whispering sweet nothings till they fall asleep or till the storm is over.
