I struggle writing for like the mainstream version of “lee!”, but I literaly can’t get this hc out of my head so I figured maybe I could shout it at you and you could enjoy it or ignore it or whatever. You wanna do. So like…lee!George, lee!Sapnap, and ler!Dream.

Sapnap and George going to Dream for tickles, but both their styles of tickling that works for them/what they like is wildly different.

So Dream has both of them down and he’s going back and forth tickling his two best friends. With all the knowledge in the world to what exactly makes each of them tick.

Sapnap is all soft. Light little squeezes, finger fluttering, soft kissys everywhere…soft soft soft. He is an absolute puddle of squeaks and giggles.

Then there’s George. He’s getting it rough and mean. Red-faced, screaming, dying. Dream rubs his knuckles into his ribs and kneads his hips, shakes him by his sides, he flops and squirms in vain. Completely hysterical.

The duality of Dream Team or something.

Maybe maybe George and Sapnap can’t help but tease each other during it and it only flusters them further.

okay so the trope of lees asking lers for tks is so insanely flustering and GOOD!!!!!! i love this trope sm, bc the lees get so flustered and nervy and embarrassed and the ler either immediately knows, pretends they don’t, or are truly clueless (which in my opinion is the most flustering bc then u actually have to explain)

so george and sap going to ask dream for tks ): ): ): oh my gosh, they’re the sweetest lil things ever. and sometimes dream likes to pretend or tease them and really make them work for it, but the two are being so adorable he can’t help but immediately go soft and cave for them ):

your concept about sap loving soft tks and george loving rough tks????? it is LITERALLY the exact thing i hc!!!!!!! i think they do love both but they definitely have those preferences. and normally when people write dream getting them both it’s kind of around the same thing going on for both people, BUT!!!!! but but but!!!!!! the idea of dream doing specific tks for each boy is just!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with sap he takes his time, gliding fingertips up and down strong shoulders and muscled arms. he drags his nails along saps tummy and sides just to hear him erupt with raspy giggles. he gently squeezes his thighs and knees, and makes sure that he doesn’t forget to give a few lighter pokes to sapnaps hipbones. dream would be so careful and delicate with saps feet and ankles, knowing how incredibly sensitive they were. the whole time just so so soft and gentle and kind. sapnap is giggling and squealing the whole time, dream just giggling along with him

with george???? oh my poor angel kitty baby. that poor little doofus. he is so screwed, isn’t he? he loves the tks to be rougher and dream knows this. and he can’t tell if he loves or hates that dream knows. so he’s cackling and wailing when dream knuckles into his ribs. he squeezes his eyes shut so hard that tears begin to stain his cheeks when dream decided to squeeze at the back of his thighs. dream holds his arms up above his head and wiggles tkly fingers into the hollows of his armpits with purpose. george prefers getting absolutely destroyed. he loves the playfulness of the banter and the games and the tks

and you are absolutely correct about them teasing each other. george would be absolutely ruthless in his teasing when dream was tkling sap. he’d be cooing at him and calling him a baby and just teasing him for how sensitive he was. and george, being the actual baby, all the sudden can’t handle when sapnap turns around and does the same exactly thing while george is being wrecked. they’re both messes and at the end dream decides to give them both fluttery side tks to tire them out completely

(george and sapnap obviously decide that even though the asked for the tks, there should be some revenge planned 😈)

although he’s not good at taking care of people, especially if they’re sick, that doesn’t mean he can’t tell if they’re sick or not. and he definitely knows that you’re sick.

so.. why are you still going to school if you’re still sneezing and coughing during classes? SUNNY wonders about that and doesn’t want you to overwork yourself with your ill condition. he hesitated but eventually confronts you about it.

once you tell him the truth and that your parents still make you go to school despite being sick simply because they don’t believe you, SUNNY is.. concerned. it’s obviously noticeable that you’re sick, why don’t your parents believe you? even the teachers asked if you wanted to go to the nurse

he wouldn’t confront your parents about it, but instead he’ll try and take care of you instead when you both go home. he’ll go to his MOM for help with taking care of someone sick and let you lay on his bed.

SUNNY is probably a bit stubborn so you wouldn’t be able to decline his offer. you’re already laying on his bed with a box of tissues and blanket covers over your torso.

he wouldn’t really hate your parents, but a tiny bit dislike them for continuing to make you go to school despite the fact that you’re obviously sick from all the coughing, sneezing and sniffling

the room was entirely quiet, it was almost a tiny bit uncomfortable and scary. you were currently in SUNNY’s household and in his room on his bed. he wasn’t in the room with you and is possibly downstairs, not like he’ll make a difference if he was here.

ll you could do was look up at the ceiling since there was a bag of ice on tope of your forehead. you weren’t sure if it was working but it did feel more uncomfortable due to the cold.

the only noise now in the room was you breathing from your mouth due to the fact that your nostrils were clogged from all the snot. as much as you want to breathe from your nose and no matter how many times you were inhaling hard, it was pointless.

then the door opened, which revealed the shy and stoic SUNNY, who had a bowl in one hand. he enters his room and closes the door behind him, walking over to you with simply silence. he then sets the bowl on the table that has his computer on it, finally speaking up,

"my MOM made chicken noodle soup, she says it helps with your throat." SUNNY said calmly as he sat on the edge of his bed. "just let it cool down for a bit." he adds after a minute of silence. you sigh in relief, absolutely thankful for SUNNY being here to take care of you, since your parents weren’t going to do it. "thanks SUNNY, you’re the best!" you smiled at him, but sneezed right after. although it wasn’t noticeable, SUNNY was smiling a tiny bit from the praise.

I have yet to comment on your Ao3 but, I’ve read almost everything in the Nights series in like a week. Idk what to say other than you’re a genius and I am in love with your writing style and idea. I recently watched dn for the first time (ya in 2022 wild) and could not find a fic that really engrossed me until I stumbled upon Nights on reddit😭 I swear I literally stayed up til 6am and could not stop. Being oikawa toru’s little sister wasn’t easy, being bombarded with fan girls and boys alike everytime you tried to go somewhere with him, being the victim of his silly antics every day. But the one thing that was the hardest, but also a blessing in disguise, was dating your highschool sweetheart, his childhood best friend, iwaizumi hajime.

When iwaizumi realised he had feelings for you he tried to push them deep down and eventually forget about his lovesick thoughts. but the more he tired the more he realised, he can’t just push them down. He told himself then and there it wasn’t just a teenage crush. He wanted to spend all his time with you, now and forever. So that night he snuck into your room at the ripe hour of 2 in the morning to ask you to be his girlfriend. He had no idea if you even liked him back but your joyous reaction was his answer.

That was nearly a decade ago and even now he gets nervous when oikawa visits back home, wondering if he actually ‘doesn’t mind that much’ if you and him are still together. Oikawa always said you two look like that couple that would grow all wrinkly together- also saying he needs to find someone like that himself, maybe in Argentina he could. But that’s what iwaizumi wants, to grow old with you, be with you forever and always. and he’s decided, with the help of his not so helpful two friends, that today’s the day he’ll make it happen.

He remembered how you always said if he was ever gonna propose to never do it in a public place. That was one thing he knew you’d be grateful for. So with the help of mattsun and makki, they decorated your apartments balcony to make it look like a restaurant with a candle lit dinner and fairy lights along the walls. One may argue that it’s a public place, but he knew also, today your on the late shift for work, so you wouldn’t be home till the early hours of the morning. Therefore, no audience to see you to- perfect.

Speak of the devil and she appears, the sound of the door clicking open and your shoes hitting the floor made iwaizumi straighten up his posture on the couch. “hi baby, how was the shift?” trying to act like it was just a normal night between the two of you, yeah he definitely wasn’t shitting a brick house, nope not him. “ughhh, it went on forever and i was stuck with that girl you know, the one who always eyes you up? Yeah her all she did was talk about her terrible love life and you.” Walking toward the couch while telling your lover about your oh so terrible work shift, you plopped down beside him and rolled your neck on the back of the couch. Stopping your gaze at the balcony door you noticed the setup and whipped your head to iwaizumi. “what’s all that?” rubbing the back of his head he tried to sound not as nervous then he actually was. “you know, just a little dinner cause you’ve been working so hard lately.” “awe how sweet of you haji, I didn’t miss an anniversary or anything did i?” “no no! you didn’t don’t worry, just come sit” ushering you to sit on one of the metal chairs, in-front of you a white table cloth covering the table with your favourite food on one of the plates only used for special occasions. Opposite you iwaizumi was pouring two glasses of wine into a pair of “were engaged!” champagne glasses makki got you as a gag christmas gift. Clinking your glasses together and sipping some of the liquid, you then began to dig into the delicious looking food.

The dinner went just as anyone other would, talking about what happened in your times you were away from eachother. Laughing at some of the stories iwaizumi would tell you about the japan team.But you noticed that the whole time he was slightly on edge so the final time he cleared his throat you decided to find out what was troubling the poor man. “hajime, what’s up? you’ve been kinda on edge or something” looking up over his glass he shook his head “nothings wrong don’t worry i’m fine, fine” looking back at you he seen your deadpan expression. He let out a sigh and you watched him stand up before getting down onto one knee, pulling a small velvet box with a gorgeous ring inside. “I didn’t really know how to do this whole thing, so you can thank the others for this whole set up, but one thing I knew is that I want to be with you forever and always, I know that I want to grow old with you and maybe have kids of our own running around one day. So with all that, would you, please do me the honour of marrying me my love.” Looking down at him with tears blurring your vision, you nodded your head over and over until he laughed and took your hand in his, slipping the ring onto your finger.

The rest of the night was spent cuddled on the couch finishing off the wine and letting friends and family know the news. The last person you called was your brother, all because you didn’t know what his reaction would be. The facetime rung three times before a sleepy groan came through the speaker and his bed head appeared on the screen. “you better be dying or worse for waking me up this early.” You didn’t respond with a retort only holding up your hand to the phone and letting out a little “ta-da!”. Squinting his eyes at the screen, oikawa seen what it was and let out a scoff, “so he finally did it huh? About time. tell him I said well done.” Iwaizumi grabbed the phone and scrunched his eyebrows at his best friend- now brother in law’s- response. “i’m right here jackass”. Laughing at their bickering, you watched them until iwaizumi got too fed up and abruptly hung up. The last thing you heard from your brother was: “I call being best man and cake decider!”

(I just know that 30 july was a national friendship day and today is like 31 july already at where I am but,,, just pretend that this is also for National Friendship Day 🤡🔫)

As you all know, it's been confirmed that I'll be going on a hiatus two days from now that I really don't know how long it will go on. So, with that in mind, I wished to leave this message to all the wonderful friends I've made while I was active here on Tumblr during quarantine.

I've started this writing blog a few months ago, to be precise, on May where life in quarantine was starting to become a norm. In the few months until now, I did my best to start writing and drawing more using all the free times that I have.

I wouldn't have expected this blog to grow so much in such a short time. To me, it was really mind blowing, seeing that there's a lot of other great content creators here on Tumblr. Yet, the 300+ people who stumbled upon my blog still decided to follow me.

I was really happy to have made many contents that I'm actually proud of posting. And I still can't believe there are people out there who love them. Seeing every one of your comments and reblogs and likes really, really, squeezed my heart and I couldn't be more thankful for your support.

And during these fun times, I was able to make friends with many amazing, talented, fantastic and all the good words I could find in the dictionary people on here. You all are a real gift to me and I hold you guys close to my heart.

I still can't believe I was able to befriend you guys though, like, y'all are so amazing and I was just here like squeaking my name to you like a shy mice lmao. =///= Anyways, thank you for all the good and fun times. Hi I'm back again bringing more headcanon! 🙋💕 This time is actually an older hc but I decided to rewrite it so it would be more longer. Hope you would like it! 😆

Garou has a crush on Badd before they met, like he's a secret fan who likes to send love letters to his workplace at Hero Association. That's why he acted like excited fanboy towards Badd during their fight. Garou wrote anonymously in the letter that he admires Badd so much he consider the only Hero that matters to him, complete with beautiful poems or sweet praising words.

Everytime Badd gets the love letters, the other hero members always teasing or cheering for him while Badd himself hiding his flustered face from reading the letter's flowery poetic content. This becomes HA's unsolved mystery case about who is Badd's secret admirer.

Even after Garou stopped being a villain and ended up becomes fugitive in Badd's house, he still pining for Badd and continued to make fan letters for him. He really wanted to confess his love for the beautiful hero as himself but Garou was afraid of getting rejected by Badd, not to mention he didn't want to ruin their newfound friendship bonds.

So, Garou just writing down all of the longing feeling into the letter, hopefully it could make Badd happy.

Unbeknown by Garou, Badd actually loves every single fan letters that Garou has sent since the beginning, without knowing it was from him. Secretly, Badd was very impressed by it and saved all the letters in his special box at home. He was wondering, who is this sweet secret admirer, he couldn’t wait to meet the person.

Ironically, Badd HAS indeed had met his secret admirer personally and was currently living together with him.

Badd only discovered the truth after one day he accidentally seeing Garou who was in the middle of writing a new fan letter. Garou immediately tried to hide and crush the letter but the young hero snatched it from his hand before reading the letter content. Badd noticed Garou's writing style matched with the fan letters that had been sent to him after all these time. That was when Badd truly realized that Garou is his secret admirer.

Without words, he shoved the crumpled letter back to Garou and walked out from the room, leaving him alone.

Garou thought he fucked up their friendship just because he didn't expect Badd would caught him off-guard when he was making those letters. By looking at Badd's bewildered expression and the way he returned the paper to him, Garou guessed he would faced an impending heartbreaking rejection from Badd. There's no way Badd would accepted his feeling, not after discovered that the ex-criminal "Hero Hunter" has a big crush on him. Badd must be ashamed of Garou now.

Just before Garou felt his heart broken, Badd suddenly barging into the room going back at him again. This time he brought a wooden box with him. Carefully, Badd opened the box only to reveal a neat pile of fan letters inside it. And Garou recognized those letters from the handwriting alone: those are fan letters from HIM!

Badd telling Garou that he actually likes them so much he got to save and collecting all of them. Nobody else ever so persistently sending Badd some lovely and encouraging letters, it always makes him feels appreciated.

Sometimes when Badd was in bad days after tiring long mission, he re-read the letters again to make himself feels better again. Nothing better than knowing there is someone who truly cares for him and everything he does.

With blushing yet determinated face, Badd asking Garou if these letters were indeed from him or not.

Garou was speechless during listening to Badd's explanation, especially that it was confirmed Badd actually likes his fan letters. He knows he was kind of awkward when it comes for love confession, as Garou hadn't have experience on romantic relationship. But for Badd, his first love, he really wanted to convey it for him. Garou be like, “Umm.. Yes, it was from me. Uh y'know. I like you so much but dunno how to say it directly so I just wrote you fan letters. And I thought you would still hate me back then after we fought that day. I was afraid to get your rejection once you recognized me as 'Hero Hunter' thus I keep sending them anonymously".

He took a deep breath before continuing, "I'm still loving you especially that you've been so kind to me despite all of what happened between us. I was going to keep it in secret yet here you caught me red handed today. But thanks for taking care all of my letters, I'm glad they makes you happy”.

The moment Garou finished his confession, Badd put the box on the table then walking closer towards Garou. His hands slowly reached for Garou's face before he tiptoed and kissed the ex-Hero Hunter softly on the lips.

After sharing a moment of passion, Badd smiled tenderly for Garou and said, "Your feeling is fully reciprocated. While I love it when you confessed directly to me, please don't stop writing your fan letter. I'd still like to read your beautiful poems, it's very lovely".

Garou just grinning widely then hugged Badd tight, before pulling him closer for a deep kiss again.

and as you’re waiting in the hall for the class to finish you hear minhyun singing the theme song for this really popular kids show and you really can’t help but laugh

like a voice that nice singing a kids tv show theme is kinda funny because it’s so unexpected sjfhdh

the bell goes and it pulls you out of your daydreaming about mr hwang

and as you wait for your niece to come out someone taps you on the shoulder

‘hey , y/n!! I saw you got back here early today!! I was wondering if you’re always here this early you can come and sit in the music lessons!!’

and your niece runs out with her bag in her hands and basically drags you out of the kindergarten tbh you’re still completely in shock

from that day onwards you’re a regular at the music class

at first some of the kids are like ?? why are you here?? but once your niece explains they accept you like a second teacher

after about a week minhyun recruits you to play an instrument

at first he tries getting you to play piano with him but that’s a bit too crowded there’s only one piano stool

so uh welcome resident triangle player

it’s an easy job but you’re not going to complain i mean

playing tv theme songs with minhyun is surprisingly fun and really it’s the highlight of your day

one day after you had a particularly rough day;; you got stuck in the barriers at the train station and your scarf went missing

minhyun noticed and let you sit in the special chair in the corner of the room that looked a bit like a throne to play triangle

instead of having to stand up or sit in one of the kiddy chairs

by this time you’re about three weeks into the 2 months

and it was time to start preparing for the showcase which your brother was returning from japan to see

one day he asks you to stay a bit later to help him pick out a song

and of course you agree

you let your niece go to the corner to play with the toys while you and minhyun chat and discuss the ideas

while you two are brainstorming what song to do, he suddenly puts his hand on your shoulder lmao you got a bit shook

‘hey,, y/n… can you perform on stage with me at this recital?? i’d really like it if you could!!!’

that is until one friday minhyun asks you to stay behind again

and right as you’re waiting for the kids to go out one of the parents approaches you and is like

‘hey!! my son told me you and minhyun are married!! congratulations on scoring the guy all the parents here are secretly swooning over lol’

and you blush a lot bc omg no we’re not married not even dating

you just mumble a thank you and go back to waiting for them all to leave

when they’re all done leaving minhyun asks your niece to step out of the room for a second

and so she does wow obedient child

minhyun suddenly takes ahold of your hand and he breathes in and out like really deeply bless nervous boy

you two are planning your big reveal at his apartment while your niece is at her parents seeing as they’re back from japan now lol

and you’re helping minhyun change into his suit ready to leave

you spot your brother in the audience and send him a wave in the gap in your triangle playing

i mean the kindergarten doesn't pay you but they should by now because you’re there literally 24/7

you move in with minhyun and you spend 90% of the day together but it's cute

when your niece comes to stay it's always so cute because

you 3 crowd around his electric piano and sing songs together (there's no triangle for you to play here sorry)

and those moments really make you look forward to your future together...

I think it would be easy to be around him & I would feel most myself around him. holidays are hard for me so having that comfort would be such a burden off my shoulder. that being said, as for what to do, I would just want to do something really simple. I’d want to go out & visit cute coffee shops/stores + visit seaside piers + ice skating in plaza with cute fairy lights + visit tree lightings + sit on bench & watch the sunset + deep talks + take LOTS polaroids (definitely one with santa ) + ( find myself some mistletoes )  jimin is boyfriend material asf  I’m sorry for being so basic mwahaha

55: “Our first date is a picnic on a beach under the stars? Have you swallowed a romance novel? Do I need to call a doctor?”

The blanket, a pleasant checkered pattern of mint green and white, is spread out on the sand. The candles are lit one by one, glowing a soft shade of orange. The waves slosh against the shore, white foam bubbling up before it recedes into the depths of the ocean.

“Our first date is a picnic on a beach under the stars? Have you swallowed a romance novel? Do I need to call a doctor?”

Sweat starts beading on Kayano’s forehead before Yukiko even finishes talking. “Wait, do you not like it? If you don’t, we can do something else. I have—”

Yukiko laughs, putting a hand on her arm. “I’m kidding, Kaede. I don’t just like it, I love it.”

“Oh. Of course.” Kayano relaxes, blushing. “It’s just that I don’t really have experience with this, you know, except that this is how it appears in movies.”

“Well, real life isn’t like the movies,” Yukiko says with a shrug. “It’s amazing that you worked so hard on planning this, though. I appreciate it.”

“I — thanks.” Kayano’s blush only grows.

Yukiko pats the picnic blanket. “Well, what are you waiting for? Come on, sit down. I want to see what you packed.”

Kayano sits down across from her, her heart accelerating in anticipation, as Yukiko opens the basket. “It’s nothing special.”

“I doubt that,” the other girl says with a laugh. Their knees press against each other’s. Kayano is twenty-two and only just finished up yesterday on a kissing scene that required four reshoots, but she’s sure Yukiko can hear her heart thumping in her chest. “It smells amazing. Oh, wow, did you make this food yourself?”

“Yeah. I bake when I’m stressed. You know that.”

“Give yourself a little more credit,” Yukiko says, pulling out a small stack of paper plates and two pairs of chopsticks. “This is really great. Scatter some cherry blossoms on the sand, and you’d be good to go.”

“Thanks,” Kayano says again. Calm down, Kaede. The last date she was on — although, as she told Nagisa, it wasn’t really a date — didn’t make her half this nervous. Note to self: bring cherry blossoms on next date.

As they dig into the food, Kayano monitors Yukiko’s reaction to every bite she takes. Is she pleased, or repulsed? Does she chew on every mouthful, savouring the taste, or scrunch up her face before swallowing it as quickly as she can? Is it too salty, too sweet, too spicy?

Kayano doesn’t realise she’s been staring into Yukiko’s eyes until the other girl meets her gaze.

“Why don’t you try some of this,” Yukiko says, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips as she points out one of the dishes.

“Oh, yeah, of course. Okay.” Kayano scoops up some of it without even checking what it is, stuffing it into her mouth.

They talk a little bit more after that. After several months of job hunting, Yukiko has been accepted for a position at a nursing home. It’s a relief to gain a degree of financial independence from her father, she says. Kayano is almost done with the current film she’s working which, the plot of which she explains to Yukiko.

“Ooh, sounds like you get to kiss a lot of cute boys,” Yukiko says with a laugh.

“Yeah, but none of them were any good,” Kayano replies.

“Oh, come on. I don’t believe that. There are some actors in your films who I’d be happy to smooch.”

Kissing on set is a duty for Kayano. Her first kiss as an actress was only a year after graduating from middle school, and the boy was as new to it as she was. It was slimy and gross and she ended up tilting her head so that her hair could hide how annoying an ordeal it was from the camera.

“Not really,” she says with a little laugh, though her gaze, unsurprisingly, drops to Yukiko’s lips. Maybe it’s a little strange to talk about that on first dates, although Yukiko doesn’t seem to mind. “Boys aren’t that good at kissing in general. So when are you going to start working at the home?”

“Next week. I’m very excited. I’ve already made friends with a few of the staff there, and the old folks are incredibly sweet. The pay is decent, too. With the savings I collected from my part-time jobs during college, I could be moving out soon.”

“That’s great! If you want, I could help you decorate your place.” Kayano’s lived by herself since she was fourteen; her apartment is entirely her own, and she likes it that way.

“I can’t make any guarantees that it’ll be soon.” Yukiko frowns at her chopsticks. “But if it is, of course I’ll let you know. We can go furniture shopping together.”

“That would be nice,” Kayano says with a nod. She grins at the other woman. “So any idea where you want to live? There are plenty of open spots at a neighbourhood about a ten-minute drive from me.”

“No way. The area you live in is too rich for me.”

“It’s not! Itona seems perpetually unimpressed whenever he’s there.”

“Like Itona is impressed by anything?“

“He’s not that rude, Yukiko, he’s really very nice once you get to know him and you’ve fed him enough pastries.”

“I’ll take your word on that,” the other woman says, laughing again. She pauses and glances up at the sky, the stars glimmering in the night like tiny diamonds. “It really is sweet of you to take me to the beach, you know. The light pollution in the city is too much. It’s never dark anymore.”

“I know. And it’s never quiet, either.” Kayano may have been a city dweller all her life, but quiet is nice sometimes too.

“It’s just us and the waves.” Yukiko smiles fondly as she looks out at the water, its surface shimmering with moonlight. “I wish I brought my swimsuit. It looks so nice.”

“It’s pretty cold right now.”

“Yeah. We should come back in the summer.”

“Oh, that would be amazing. I’d love that.” Kayano notices Yukiko’s empty plate. “Are you done?”

“What? No! We haven’t started dessert yet, and I know you must’ve baked a lot of sweets. You did say you’re a stress baker, and it would be a waste not to eat them.” Yukiko opens the basket and takes out a plastic box. “This looks so good. What is it?”

“Mini apple pies. I haven’t made it that many times, though.”

“Don’t worry, I’m a perfectly willing taste tester.” She pries off the lid and picks up on the pies, taking a bite. A smile spreads across her face.

“Well, what do you think?”

Yukiko devours the pie in three more bites. There are crumbs on her lips. It’s distracting. Kayano is torn between hating how distracting it is and staring at how the moonlight makes her dark hair gleam. “I love it. You’re not going to judge me if I eat more than my share, right?”

“Don’t be silly. Of course not. We’ve been friends for eight years.”

Yukiko’s smile widens as she picks up another pie. Kayano’s just relieved she likes them; she spent three days wondering what foods she hasn’t already baked to share with Yukiko, and therefore wouldn’t be unoriginal. Eight years is a lot of different baked goods, after all.

Once they’re done, they roll up the blanket and take a walk along the beach.

“This wasn’t like the movies, yeah,” Yukiko says, grinning as she leans over to wipe a bit of food off Kayano’s mouth. “It was better.”

“I think so, too,” Kayano says, enjoying Yukiko’s touch a little too much. To her surprise, Yukiko grabs her hand and continues walking, their fingers entwined. It feels nice — warm, in the chilly sea breeze, and comforting.

Kayano was sixteen when she dumped all her ideas about being a hopeless romantic and finding an idyllic fairytale ending. It hadn’t helped her cope with her sister’s death like she wanted to, didn’t make her any less alone. She doesn’t believe in things like perfect matches or soulmates or love being anything less than commitment and work and concentrated effort, but being with Yukiko — it feels right.

“Now I feel kind of bad,” the other woman says, stopping to pick up a seashell with her free hand. “How am I going to make our next date even better? You set the bar so high!”

“Sorry,” Kayano says, grinning.

“You’re not sorry at all!”

“Sorry for not being sorry.”

Yukiko tries to suppress her laughter, but it doesn’t work. She gazes fondly at Kayano, her eyes bright under the starry sky. “How about you apologise to me by making the third one even better?”

“Now that’s just not playing fair,” Kayano complains. “I put so much effort into this one, I don’t know if I could top it.”

“More sweets,” Yukiko suggests.

Kayano tilts her head, considering this, and nods. “More sweets.”
