the first thing you heard after waking up was a knock on your door, followed by a loud thud. you were still sleepy so you couldn’t really decipher the meaning of these sounds, since you were not expecting visitors at such random time in the night. well, except for your boyfriend, who was out with his friends, saying that you shouldn’t wait up for him, since he would be out for quite a while. “what is he doing outside? did he forget his keys?” you mumbled to yourself as you jogged to the door, in order to help mingyu unlock the door. however to your surprise the sight which greeted you wasn’t very usual; it was wonwoo, at his side your clearly tipsy boyfriend, wonwoo’s arms holding him up (as well as he could handle a giant like mingyu). “what do we have here, hmm?” you questioned with a raised brow, not the happiest with the situation since you knew you would be the one taking care of him and cleaning the aftermath of his mess. “umm, hi. so…he drank a bit more than he should’ve.” wonwoo greeted you, awkwardly trying to stop mingyu’s limbs from escaping his hold. “hi sweetheart!” mingyu hiccuped, smiling sheepishly like an idiot. “oh gosh, what a sight.” mingyu could see that you weren’t pleased with his state, but the giggle you were trying so hard to hold back assured him it would be fine. “here, let me take him from you.” wonwoo handed you your big koala boyfriend in an instant; now that you gave it some thought he must’ve been extremely tired, afterall mingyu had been working out for years, building extreme amounts of muscle. “thanks. he has been whining about wanting to kiss you, so don’t be surprised if he attacks you. anyways, I will be on my way now I think. take care!” wonwoo waved, leaving you alone in the living room with mingyu. “i have missed you so much baby! give me a kissy kiss!” mingyu screamed (where he got the sudden energy burst from, you had no idea) while hugging you, smushing your face in his hands. he showered you with kisses, never stopping if it wasn’t for you making him pause. “wonwoo was indeed right, although you attacking me is nothing out of the ordinary.” you giggled, his face turning redder than it already was.

“I need more kisses!” he repeated for not the first time after a while, not leaving you alone. “mingyu baby I love so very much and missed you just as much, however I am tired. it is the middle of the night, you know? besides, how many kisses has it been? I cannot even remember how long has it been since we sat down.” you answered. “but I even planned on telling you all about my night! the boys told me so many stories! they are so interesting!” he pouted with big eyes; he looked exactly like a kicked puppy whose spirit has been destroyed. “oh really now?” your crossed arm and the way you were already standing in front of the couch only appeared to mingyu upon closer inspection, leaving him missing your lips even more. “yes! please at least this one story! it was about how minghao got into the situation where he had to wear a peacock costume on tv…” your exhausted mind couldn’t really process this, so you decided to end the conversation there. “tell me about that when you are sober, okay? now let’s get you to bed instead.” you urged as you dragged his almost limp body to the bedroom, tucking him into bed, and kissing him good night one last time, but not before putting a glass of water and painkillers on his nightstand. “sleep well, I will be waiting for that interesting story tomorrow, alright?”

the unpleasant thing about asteroids

hello-hello, long time no see! this month has been crazy, but here we are again. today I want to talk about an important topic that might make some people disappointed or even angry with me. some might say that I don't understand astrology at all.  the issue I want to raise is the total madness surrounding various asteroids and their persona charts. take it easy, it's not more than a fun addition to "real" astrology. 

however, the fact that people have become suddenly obsessed with finding their Aphrodite asteroid in order to check if they are necessarily extremely beautiful... (note: guys, Aphrodite is simply the Greek name for Venus, which was already occupied...)

or Boda, for example. how will my wedding look? c'mon, Boda was only discovered in 1938. unlike the main planets and objects which have been observed since ancient times, and some for at least 200-400 years, modern asteroids discovered recently may not actually have any patterns yet. and the names are mostly given according to astronomical standards and the imagination of those who discovered them. sometimes, I come across really bizarre and far-fetched facts that are presented as genuine astrological observations. and many people become really disappointed when they don't find Fama in their 1st house/Leo/5 degree. do you want me to create a similar "100% true" fact right in front of your eyes? if asteroid Mr. Spock (2309) forms a conjunction with your Venus, then "Star Trek" is destined to be your favorite movie. (well, the asteroid actually gets its name from the discoverer's cat)  absurd, right? another example: there's an asteroid named Tomhanks (12818). oh. my. god. it falls to my 1st house! (I'm not kidding, btw) does it mean Tom Hanks has a great influence on my life or personality? I couldn't even remember his face until I looked up a photo...

want more? my best friend has a slightly unusual internet nickname. she calls herself "Stasik", which is a diminutive of a Russian boy's name. she has her own funny story about how and why she chose this nickname, and it has become strongly associated with her personality. guess what? exactly. there is also an asteroid called Stasik (4131) and it makes me feel cringey even to write that I've checked it... well, this name is literally a part of who she is, so there must be some connection, right? it's just in her 9th house. that's all. NOTHING special. I want to emphasize one thing: I'm not against asteroids, and I use them myself often. however, there is a point where it can become a strange form of self-made astrology with even less evidence than traditional astrology. everyone has the right to believe what they want, but my opinion is like that:

some asteroids, such as "Starr" and "Glo", don't necessarily make you a star, even if they are in a harsh conjunction with your ASC. and the absence of these asteroids in "important" houses doesn't mean you lack star potential. btw, why is "Glo" associated with popularity, actually? why can't it simply represent the fact that you smoke a tobacco heater of the same name lmao? I hope you understand what I'm saying. astrology is more complex than people think, which is why it's easy to manipulate facts. that's okay, but please stay rational. I always say this, but astrology can help provide insights, but it shouldn't define or rule your life.

author's note: this is basically the longer version of the gaming hcs in my last post aka the valentine's day special ALSO 2nd time ever writing a fanfic shiver me timbers😰 i hope it okay btw i'll draw my (genshin or whatever )oc/self-insert tonight cuz i have school in 2 hours and i have a bit of homework left lol

You and your boyfriend, Gaming, have been dating for a few months now. He loved you very dearly, just as you loved him. You were an inseparable couple, like you were glued to eachother. But, the relationship that you had was healthy, and really sweet. People talked about your closeness to other people, in the streets. You've overhead them quite a few times now. You were a famous couple in Liyue.

A really special date was approaching. The 14th of February, Valentine's day. A day to show your loved one how much you love them, to give them a gift. It was a heartwarming "holiday", for most. Not everyone, but most. And as soon at it sttarted approaching, the streets were bustling with the names of you and Gaming.

Gaming, he planned a dance show for that day, that night. He invited everyone from Liyue, and even other nations! As promised, he would amaze them and make them smile. But that wasn't all that much important to him. You were.

The whole dance show was actually just made so he could give you a rose in a more romantic and surprising way. Yes, it was a surprise. He didn't mention Valentine's day to you for the whole day, but that night...

When it finally came, that night, you started getting ready. Putting on your best outfit, ready to be looked at and praised by everyone. Was it the outfit, or the whole night? Nobody knows. The outfit was one of Gaming's favorite ones for you to wear. Whenever you wore it, he ended up staring at you too much and blushing more than usual. It was interesting, really. How can such a simple outfit make a man's heart go crazy? Make his blood rush to his face, his cheeks? The human body and mind is really impressive.

As soon as you were done getting ready, you got your bag and went out the door. Going to see your precious boyfriend perform on such a special day.

When you got there, everyone had surprised looks on their faces, but positive ones. They got out of the way, and let you stand in the first row out of the thousands of people in the crowd. Like I said, the two of you were really famous there.

Then, music started playing, the crowd went silent. The lights went out. Rose petals started falling out of nowhere from the sky, making it much more beautiful to look at.

Soon, 3 different lights were on the stage. 3

The 2 of them started dancing. They were dancers. Lion dancers.

It was nice seeing them dance, so many moves and talent. It was worth seeing it.

Eventually they stopped, and the third dancer started dancing. He was Gaming, recognizable even in the night. Flawlessly dancing and moving across the stage, everyone was amazed.

A few minutes passed, and the lights turned on again. The 3 dancers bowing down.

"Happy Valentine's day everyone! Here's a rose to a special person in the crowd!" He threw a beautiful red rose to the crowd, and coincidentally, it landed right in your hands.

Smiling, you spoke, "Thank you, Gaming!" and the performance ended there.

After there were only you and Gaming left there, you read a note that was connected to the rose by a beautiful orange string.

"Happy Valentine's day, [name]!" and just as you read it, Gaming said it himself.

"Thank you again, lion dance boy. I loved the performance."

"You're welcome, it was dedicated to you alone. I'm glad you liked it."

okay so for starters, buckle up for enemies to lovers office romance

but it's one-sided; you dislike him, 'cause y'know he's kinda an asshole, but he just likes teasing you and doesn't actually mean anything he says

after a very drunk confrontation at an office party, you tell him you think he's an absolute asshole, and how much you hate working for him

after a while it just devolves to stupid things you dislike, like the way you hate that he drinks black coffee or that he has to have take-out all the time, or that he just randomly cancels meetings for no apparent reasons

the next day, you just find a box of chocolates on your desk

after that it's a little more smooth sailing

after a few months— which is enough time for harry to fully mourn the death of his dad— things start getting better

he's fully taken over as CEO of oscorp and proven to everybody, that despite the fact that he's young, he's still a good businessman

i imagine it's been a year, and now that you're both fully adjusted to the job, things start getting a little more spicy

at first you don't even notice the change; he puts down a cup of coffee— you're favourite order— on your desk when he arrives at the office, or he asks you to join him in eating take-out when you two are the only ones left in the office after a long day

then it escalates, you complain about the old coffee machines, and he has them replaced, or you offhandedly mention the fact that one of the lifts is always out of order, and the next day you see some poor mechanics who've been working at it all night walk past you, complaining about how much of hardass the "baby osborn" is

your friend is the one that mentions it first; "hey, weren't you complaining about those yesterday?"

at first you just shrug it off, he was being a good boss, so what?

but after a while, it gets into your head anyway

i mean, there are only so many sentences with a flirty undertone a girl can take

so, being you, you decide to outright ask him

"are you flirting with me?"

"i have been for the past three months, but thanks for noticing."

after that he just gives you one of those typical harry osborn smirks and walks off, hands in his pockets 'n everything

Once you guys actually start dating though, he's a total sweetheart

His love languages are most definitely gift giving (giving) and physical touch (receiving)

Speaking of, you bet you're closet goes from being worth 200$ to being worth 8000$ within weeks

It starts off as small things, a cup of coffee on him, or some dinner in the office, just the two of you

But it escalates quickly

By the time you're three month anniversary rolls around, he's bought you just about the entire Jimmy Choo collection, and your amazon wishlist

He remembers everything you tell him, from the fact that you love a certain colour or dislike a certain food, he'll definitely remember

When you tell him you feel bad about the amount of money he spends on you, he just shrugs it off

besides you can pay him back by wearing that Victoria's Secret gift he got you a few weeks ago

The entire thing, holds your bags, opens the door, has his card out and has paid before you even reach for your wallet

Just loves spoiling you

Dates are usually one of two things:

One: Super extravagant, oh there's this cool restaurant in LA you want to check out when you go there? He has two tickets booked, and he's written it in his agenda for next saturday

Two: Super chill weekend in. The two of you just relax, watch some movies, have breakfast in bed, maybe even some pillow forts if he's feeling fancy, and of course, pillow fights that somehow always end up in make-out sessions

Extremely touch-starved, so will have his hands on you all the time

And he isn't even ashamed about it

Like, y'all will be at dinner, and he'll casually put an arm around your shoulder and pull you closer to him, to the point that you're almost in his lap

"Harry, we're in public!"

"So?"

"People are staring!"

"I reiterate: So?"

Just a sweetheart in general, he loves you and he isn't ashamed of it at all

But of course, there are some downsides too

For starters, he's very unaware of just how privileged he is

For example, this one time, there was a super sale at Costco, and you were super excited to tell him, and he just stared at you like, "What's the big deal??"

Secondly, he's extremely possessive, so he gets jealous super easily

For example, the two of you will be at one of his rich people gala's—as you very fondly call them— and this random guy will have a chat with you, normal conversation, but with an obvious flirty undertone

And he'll get very annoyed

"Why didn't you tell him you had a boyfriend?" *insert pout*

"Harry, we were talking about the stock market, where would I just casually add that piece of information?"

He's annoyed for the rest of the night, as well as the car ride home— in which you tell him he's being childish— but the moment you get home he just sighs and tells you he's sorry for overreacting

Those fights usually turn into long night conversations, with tea and blankets

He also has the habit of forgetting dates

This is usually when there's a big project presentation coming up and he's nervous

Usually you don't mind, after all, you've seen first hand how brutal the board can be

But sometimes it's just a little too much, and all the other little things that have been bothering the two of you blow up into one big fight

You're both very stubborn so it just turns into a waiting game of who'll give in first

If he's the one who gives in, he usually turns up at your door with a huge bouquet of your favourite flowers and your favourite chocolates

Definitely the type to drive across the city to get you that one sweet, from that one shop you really like

If you're the one to give in, he'll just pout, and tell you he's still mad

He already gave in the moment you walked in though

He just likes to tease you, but after the third sorry he feels bad and tells you he's sorry for neglecting you too

He likes the idea of communication, and he's trying to get better at it

But when he can't find the words, he just defaults back to buying you stuff

That's how his dad always fixed stuff, so it's the only way he knows

But he tries, because it's you and you deserve nothing less than the best

So some Ulpianus thoughts as I go through his kit and do some of the math out

-Base statistics wise, he's extremely similar to Hoederer, having slightly more HP in exchange for very slightly less ATK -This of course doesn't matter once he gets stacks of his talent going. At 10 stacks, he'll have the highest HP and ATK of any Crusher in the game (even outpacing Wind Chimes with her Vigor buff) -Regaining 100 HP when hit, and 160 HP when under 50% HP, is actually probably not enough on its own to really keep Ulpianus alive through sustained damage. It is very good against damage over time effects though, with the possible exception of Zaaro's curse which is very funny

-S1 looks pretty okay. It's notable for being a Pull in an entire class who does not have one, and it's a pretty beefy attack scale on an ATK stat that can almost be 2000. I'm not sure this ends up being a viable portion of kit in most situations, especially since his other two skills seem generally better. -S2 looks...interesting. I'm not actually sure this skill is "good", at least in part because of its massive 70 SP cost. This can be reduced significantly (to about 47 SP) through Unchained's PUM-Y module, but 47 seconds is still a long time for what is supposed to be a lane holder. While the skill is up though, it is quite powerful, especially since it increases the healing from his talent to 200/320 per hit, but 3 Block is also really risky on a Crusher. Hoederer's S2 also suffers from this issue. -S3 is just good. A frankly disgustingly high ATK buff on top of a scaling attack buff means that anything he hits in his initial blast is probably capital F Fucked and he'll take advantage of the six second stun to get two more additional hits in, adding in that the range on this skill is long, let's him be proactive in lane holding, and potentially even allows him to hold two lanes at once is bonkers. 17s charge time with PUM-Y btw.

We probably should talk about the hunter buffs btw, because Ulpianus arguably benefits the most out of any Hunter with them.

-Gladiia: On her own, Gladiia provides a 237.02 HP/s Regen buff to Ulpianus thanks to his titanic HP stat, which increases to 279.02 HP/s with his talent stack maxed out. That's just generically hefty as an regen in general, especially since its healing effectiveness cannot be reduced in any way. The 30%...psuedo-Sanctuary (does Sanctuary actually stack with Gladiia's module?) is also rather incredible for him, being a huge HP buff inherently and making his HP gain talent even stronger. -Andreana: 22 ASPD matters the absolute most to Ulpianus thanks to his titanically long attack interval, reducing it from 2.5 seconds to ~2.05 seconds. In addition, Andreana benefits the most from the 600 Max HP Ulpianus can give her thanks to her low base HP. -Skadi: +24% ATK and +20% Max HP on the Abyssal Hunter with the highest ATK and HP of any class in the game. Easy. Honestly maybe we should have seen the Crusher class coming. Worth noting though that the ATK buff is extremely diluted once his skills are up, however. -Specter: 5% extra damage is honestly fairly good for him. On one hand, his ATK stat gets so high it probably isn't super distinguishable from ATK buffs in terms of effect, but during skill, this buff won't get diluted either. -Specter the Unchained: Maybe the biggest partner for Ulpianus outside of Gladiia, because he really wants the extra SP per second she gives, especially for S2.

In total, what does Ulpianus look like with all the Abyssal Hunter buffs?

HP: 10,158 (11,358 with his Talent) ATK: 2,100.56 (2,400.56 with his Talent) HP Regen: 355.53 HP/s (397.53 HP/s with his Talent)

This is just at base too. While the ATK and HP buffs do end up diluted from his own skill buffs, just looking at his stats while his S2 is up:

HP: 14,221.2 (15,421.2 with his Talent) ATK: 4,810.96 (5,110.95 with his Talent) HP Regen: 497.742 HP/s (539.742 HP/s with his Talent)

So...is Ulpianus good? If you're using him in Abyssal Hunters, definitely, and honestly he's disgustingly good looking there. But outside of that remains to be seen. I think his S3 in general is just so strong that there's a very good chance he remains a good, usable operator outside of his niche, just like all the Abyssal Hunters.

🍭 How easy is it to fluster them?

When it comes to Anasui, it really won't take much to fluster him. This dude doesn't just love you, he's obsessed with you, which means that literally anything you might say to him will get him to turn all red and bashful.

To be honest, maybe you weren't even trying to flirt with him, he just interpreted your words in his own way and now he's all flustered even if it wasn't your intention in the first place.

It is pretty funny though, and also cute in a way. He'll probably go "awww stawwp" despite the fact that he'd dying to receive any sort of attention from you, especially this kind.

So if you're not very confident in your flirting skills, don't worry, you'll never have to worry about them not being good enough for him.

Is...Is it even possible to fluster Weather?

To be completely honest with you, trying to affectionately tease him won't get much of a result most of the time. He doesn't really understand how flirting works, and is either confused or unfazed by most of your attempts.

Let's say, for examples, you were to compliment him more than usual. I can see him mostly just smiling and thanking you rather than blushing and such. He doesn't mean to be so detached, he can't help it. He thinks you're just being affectionate and nice, you are his partner, after all.

I could potentially see him getting flustered, but only on very specific and rare circumstances. When that does happen, Weather doesn't really...Understand what's going on? He just feels his cheeks getting warm and all of a sudden he's struggling to even look at you.

He'll probably try to go back to his usual composure as soon as he can, but he'll spend the rest of the day thinking about how... Interesting that felt.

🍰 How teasing are they? Do they often flirt with their S/O?

Anasui is a flirting bomb fr. Dude's teasing and complimenting you literally all the time you two are together, he's incapable of spending more than 3 minutes without praising or remarking something about you.

Now, quantity doesn't equal quality, and he's the living proof of that. With this man it's kind of a fifty fifty situation, he'll either come up with the smoothest compliment and flirting style humanity has ever witnessed, or the cringest pick up line ever that will probably make you burst out laughing.

When the latter happens, it's quite entertaining to watch, because your reaction will actually make him blush instead.

He's not afraid to get close either, and physical contact is actually one of his favorite ways of flirting with you, whether that'd be neck kisses or grabbing your waist.

The thought of getting you bashful doesn't even cross his mind because, like I said, he doesn't understand nor know what it is or how it works.

I can see Anasui trying to give him some advice on how to flirt with you, but he wouldn't follow them because he doesn't trust his judgment in this sort of thing or at all

With that being said, this man will turn you red without even trying. He'll get very touchy and compliment you with no filters whatsoever. If he has something nice to say about you, he'll say it without thinking twice. Adding in to this, the calmness and and composure in his voice will make everything sound way smoother than he intended to be.

dian fossey gorilla fund - this one is specifically dedicated to the protection of mountain gorillas as well as research of the surrounding habitat. they've also done some substantial research into one of my favorite monkeys, the golden monkey (cercopithecus kandti).

gorilla doctors - the gorilla doctors do veterinary field work to maintain the health of wild mountain gorillas and eastern lowland gorillas. they also work to address human and domestic animal health in the area in order to help maintain gorilla health.

the orangutan project - the orangutan project works with various organizations in indonesia for the conservation of orangutans. one of the organizations they fund is the bos foundation which is a personal favorite :) the smithsonian show "orangutan jungle school" is about bos!

duke lemur center - duke lemur center is a research center and conservation effort for lemurs (of which they house 200 btw). all of their research is minimally invasive and not harmful to the animals. they kind of do a lot of stuff so it's a little hard to summarise... also binx lives here............. i love binx.......

vervet forest - the vervet monkey foundation is basically exactly what it sounds like. they rescue pet monkeys and laboratory monkeys and give them a better life. one thing that's particularly interesting about them is their foster mom program where they give orphaned babies a monkey family :)

lwiro primate rehab center - lwiro works to rehabilitate all kinds of primates impacted by the illegal (and unethical) pet trade. this means they primarily work with orphaned primates and primates with significant physical and psychological trauma

tacugama - tacugama works on preservation of wildlife in sierra leone. they're pretty famous i don't really know what to say about them except that they care for a buttload of chimps

fauna foundation - the fauna foundation the only chimpanzee sanctuary in canada and it rehabilitates and provides a safe place for chimps traumatized by the pet trade and laboratories. plus they have a nature reserve that's part of their conservation effort. shout out to sue ellen

monkey haven - primate rescue center i'm really just mentioning because xhabu lives there and he's like a celebrity to me. like they do good work but i just really love xhabu

Okay so here's the stoof:

Dokutaro's different appearance:

After losing the Loyal 3 and not having anyone chained to his will, he ended up losing a lot of his power. His malnourished appearance is also the reason why he doesn't leave his shell, it takes a lot of effort that he can't waste. Dokutaro needs to basically regain his energy (being unable to "help" others for 200 years kinda takes a toll)

So, no, it doesn't have to do with Giratina. But speaking of...

Giratina's role in the AU:

Giratina wanted to escape the Disortion World and take revenge on Arkoos. Dokutaro is helping him achieve it. In return, Dokutaro gets to see the old couple again.

Unfortunately Dokutaro hadn't really been helping Giratina (because he can't toxic chain a freaking Giratina, he's too strong for that) and also Dokutaro has been preoccupied with "helping Kieran"

As a result, the two hate each other.

Crystal Lake stoof:

After Dokutaro reawoken from his slumber, the first thing he did was to see the old couple again. But they were dead, and he went to the Crystal Pool to see them again. Didn't work, as it wasn't really them, but illusions made by Terapagod. Dokutaro realized that it was fake and was angry that Terapagod would do that.

Either way he was upset and pissed. He blames everyone else for this.

Terapagos notes BTW:

Terapagod (not a spelling error, I swear) is the region of Paldea and is female (I liked that theory too and wanted to include it here)

Terapagos (the baby boi) is still in his egg at the Depths of Area Zero and he's male

(Kinda like the The Owl House with King and Papa Titan except Terapagod is alive, just sleeping)

TL;DR

Dokutaro looks different due to being malnourished and weak without the Loyal 3 or anyone that was under his control.

Giratina and Dokutaro had a deal that Giratina would bring the old couple back if Dokutaro brought Giratina back from the Disortion World. Dokutaro never held up on his end of the bargain.

The old couple at the Crystal Lake were illusions made by Terapagod, who makes up the region of Paldea.

Terapagos is the baby boi and Terapagod is his mother who is dormant at the moment.
