The two had gone out for their anniversary. Their friends threw them a little surprise dinner at the restaurant they went to on their first date. They'd knocked out four years of marriage and were happy to celebrate the rest of the years to come. It was a fun little gathering of their loved ones surrounding them and reminiscing on old times, how shy they were when they first met and how cute it was to see how quickly they fell for each other. 

It was a great night with great food and a few drinks. Maybe more than a few. They didn't drink much they mostly smoked but for tonight's occasion, they switched over. The party ran late and a few left to return to their own homes but not without congratulating the two on their four years together. Rue and Jules offered to drive the couple back to their apartment considering they were sober enough to drive back. They accepted and sat in the backseat of the car, her head resting on his shoulder as her mind swayed. She was so gone she felt like was in a spaceship zooming through the stars and the planets. 

She loved the ride home after a drunken night, it was so quiet and calming especially with the window down. Fez's head tipped back against the headrest, whispering to himself that he'd never drink again. He was so lucky to have her.

After what felt like a short ride they were finally in front of the apartment building. "Sure you guys don't want us to come with you?" 

Fez scoffed. "Nah, we're good, text us when you get home." The girls wanted to protest about his slurred sentence and wobbly stance but bit their tongues, they'd at least wait until they got inside the building. They said their goodbyes and waited for them to tap their keycard to get past the second door which they successfully did. Fez and his girl stumbled over to the elevator, pressing the button to go up numerous times but none of the doors would open. Fez squinted once he noticed a piece of paper on the silver door. 

Out of Order.

Well, that was just great. "We gotta take the stairs, baby." He giggled. She groaned and trudged to the door leading to the staircase, silently thankful they lived on the fifth floor but it was still a lot of stairs and she was wearing heels. She held onto the railing for balance and walked up the first step with Fez not too far behind. 

They climbed up as fast as they could to the second floor, she stopped and rolled her eyes, this was not an ideal situation to be intoxicated. Fez, however, seemed to be entertained. Her dress was riding up with every step, no matter how many times she pulled it down it slid back up and at some point almost bunched around her hips, exposing her supple skin under the material. Today I:

-made plans to meet up with someone who will hopefully become a new friend in the area, after @mrmolite introduced us over whatsapp. we're going to go for a walk somewhere cool in the city in a few weeks when we're both free and I'm looking forward to it! thanks mrm!!

-spent a while texting w/ an american school friend about life and work and relationships and it was so good and I'm such a big fan of his and am v happy we stayed close after I left Athens. He just moved to NYC for the school year and I'm dying to get back there to visit S again so I can also see him. We haven't been in the same place since early 2023 when he gave me and Meg a brief tour of the MFA in Boston while he was a fellow there and I was visiting for a long weekend

V Hyun

Appearances are important to V, so it's crucial for their team to mesh with their punk/goth styling. However, the mohawks and spikes belie movesets carefully chosen to cover their team's weaknesses. They spent ages putting together and perfecting their team's strategy, but will never admit to it. Toxtricity is their partner Pokemon.

Julian Quintana Benoit

Jules's team's first line of defense is intimidation. The prevalence of wings, cloaks, and scythes in his team's designs points to his tendency to obscure himself and keep others at arms' length (making both him and his team less effective at defending the people he cares about). The exception is his partner Pokemon, Smeargle, who cannot (and does not) battle.

Jacqueline Vidal

Jacqui's affinity for crystals carries over into her Pokemon team; all of her Pokemon except for her partner, Salazzle, have crystals incorporated in their designs. She approaches battles the way she approaches all her problems: with the goal of ending it as quickly as possible. Anything she can't handle with brute force is subjected to Salazzle's poison.

Many thanks to @noblebs for tagging me! This thing looks so cute and fun I absolutely have to participate! I have a lot of OCs so we might be here for a while but it's a very fun exercise to go through.

Saccade: 6/10

She's got biceps like cantaloupes, and is pretty tall, so you'd think she'd be great at it but she's pretty hesitant around touch for the most part, and so usually is pretty tense and awkward. She prefers to give people a handshake or a slap on the back rather than hugging them, and that hesitation comes through.

Vítor Cadogan: 2/10

You'd think a man whose occupation is looking after emotionally damaged children would be well used to giving hugs, but nope! He tends to leave that side of things to Apricity, preferring to be more of a steadfast emotionally dependent rock as opposed to a warm, nurturing personality. He's extremely awkward about it, and he's rather lanky physically, and isn't big on touch as a rule, so the whole thing doesn't suit him.

Ucalegon: 6/10

She's very sinewy, very thin, lots of bones and edges and hard muscle. Despite this, she does put her all into it, and often rocks the people she hugs gently in her arms. She doesn't much like being hugged, but doesn't mind hugging her friends and loved ones, of which there are many. She's also pretty strong and could lift most people, if you're into that.

Cerebellum: 8/10

Muscular, a little on the boney side but he makes it up with sheer enthusiasm. A hug from Cerebellum gets you lifted in the air and twirled around in excitement. He likes to hug his friends! But it can be a bit overwhelming for people not into that, alas.

Diomede: 5/10

He's bonier and thinner than he used to be these days, and is a lot more touch-starved than he ever was with the Vagor. So very hesitant and awkward for the most part, up until his desperation for human contact hits and then he's extremely clingy until you let go.

Hendrix: 2/10

Hendrix is thin, bony, very angular, slightly wet and cold, and has a number of very hard shell growths all over his body that can and do dig into the skin. The only reason why he's not 0/10 is because he does properly try to give you a bear hug if you ask (he's not large enough to really make it work but it's the thought that counts) and he's just about tall enough for most people to snuggle in nicely, it's just that you're snuggling into what feels like rocks.

Imperator V: 9/10

V is a gentle giant in every sense of the word (except for all the murders). He's very large, both muscular and with a healthy layer of fat on him, and while he is somewhat starved for real gentle human contact he's not socially aware enough to feel awkward about it when it is initiated. If you get his shirt off him, he's also pretty hairy. He'd make a great human blanket, if you asked. One mark deducted for the very real risk that you might get blood stains on you from hugging him. On account of all the murders.

Imperator III: 0/10

Sorry babe the armour that singes the flesh of the sinners and nonbelievers of the Empyrean's doctrine stays on during hugs.

Ed Edwards: 8/10

The man is over 7 feet all, and is a former boxer who has put on a lot of healthy weight in his sporting retirement. He is also, despite his bitter attitude and constant pissed off attitude, is someone who does quite like physical contact. He is touch starved also, which I'm coming to realise is pretty standard in this project, especially Bronze Eden. What intense cultural puritanism and Catholicism does to a motherfucker I guess. Anyway points deducted because he still doesn't quite know his own strength and will squeeze you a little too hard.

Sal Solomon: 1/10

Like hugging an unwashed porcupine.

Sylvester Praeceptor: 5/10

Probably the only person on this list that gets hugged somewhat regularly, by his favourite sibling and proverbial twin Jules. However he's not really big on physical contact outside of that, and rarely lingers in someone's embrace. He's fairly tall but quite thin, although his shoulders which are deceptively broad are probably nice to rest your head against if you want. All in all, fairly middle of the road hugger.

Potentate Magnus: 1/10

He's an emaciated 105 year old man with a very literal God complex. He doesn't hug and if he did it would be like hugging a skin-clad skeleton who actively thinks you are lesser than him. Also wouldn't take off his mask so you'd get stabbed by his horns.

Potentate Augustus: 1/10

He would think you were attacking him and would have a heart attack and die.

Potentate Boris: 6/10

Quite warm, very gentle and pleasant, but points deducted because he would start crying and make it awkward for everyone.

Potentate Salvatore: 7/10

He's more of a kiss on the cheek guy rather than a hug guy but he can and will do it, and is fairly warm and cozy, probably the most normal Potentate to hug. I wouldn't linger though, he gets creepy if you stay around him for too long.

Potentate Felipe: 0/10

Would get a stiffy, potentially cream his pants. Bad idea for everyone involved.

Potentate Clymene: 10/10

Warm, soft, smaller than you but properly wraps her arms around you and all around is a very comforting person to hug. Smells nice too, on account on all the floral perfumes she uses. And she won't tell you off for having bad manners for wanting a hug as others might do.

Potentate Zephyr: 3/10

Clymene took all the good hugging genes 😔 he is tall, lanky, and usually is awkward, tense and uncomfortable, but is much more open and warm around Clymene, who is the main person he's hugging. Again, they're probably the only siblings in this miserable family who genuinely like each other.

Potentate Louis: 2/10

Like his uncle Zephyr, he is awkward, tense and uncomfortable, and has the same lankiness Zephyr has (although isn't as tall). He is also chronically touch starved, but will snuggle nicely given the opportunity. Unfortunately you might get hair gel on you, nothing we can do about that.

You are ready and you have all the support you need to start on the project you've been putting off because you weren't sure it was really what you wanted. You've been thinking about it long enough, go for it now! It will be challenging (and perhaps competitive, knowing you a lil bit I'd say this is probably career related) exactly like you're worried about, but that's actually a good sign in this case. You can handle it!

For the Liko/Dot poll, I think you might want to alter the structure so that it ends in 1v1. The way I see it, Pokémon fans are split between ones that like shipping suffixes and the ones that don’t. The current proposal for the poll gives an unfair advantage to those that don’t, as the ones that do will be split between all the other ship names, while the ones that don’t will be able to all vote for one option.

Hey, thanks for bringing this up! I did some more looking into names, and found DotLiko is also a name used, so adding that to the poll will even things out, as no other names have been suggested!

while looking, i found that nidothingshipping and superfanshipping were popular names as well, though they seem a bit like variations on the already propsed gurumin and biggestfan names, so to give them fighting chances, i've combined them.

I think this another thing we should poll for! Majority vote ! So, I think I'll end up holding a couple polls, actually!

Any opinion on Red Hood: Outlaws (Webtoons)? I only read the first five chapters and kind of don't like the angry-robin-approach... Thanks in advance!

Hello! I stopped reading it a while ago so 1) my criticism for the comic isn't very fresh in my mind and 2) i don't have the full picture since i only read a handful of chapters, so i wouldnt be able to write a whole essay on it, but who doesn't love giving opinions!

From what i remember i didn't like it either, like i said disclaimer that i stopped reading halfway through and a while ago so maybe my complaints got solved down the line, my bad, etc. but the thing is that i sincerely do not want to go back and re-read it/read all the chapters which should speak for itself 🙏 I found the writing cringy and very superficial, very close to lobdell's rhato which will always leave a bad taste in my mouth. atp i don't care about jason being written as an "angry robin" as long as it has nuance and context, but i didn't get to see those two things in the webtoon so i get you (not to say it wasn't present, just that i literally didn't get there if it was expanded on later lol). What i remember pissed me off was the amount of memes and mcu style jokes in the comic, it felt lazy 🤷 i can text my friend and use 5 viral video references in it but doing the same thing on an official comic? Be serious please, i'm not asking you to become judd winick and give us the next utrh but at least dont steal funny tweets from the internet for a dialogue...

Also a thing i like about jason is that he's a dickhead but fun and charming in his own way and the jason in the webtoon was just boring sorry, if i google "action movies watch online" and picked a random title and pressed play im sure the main character would have the same feel as webtoon jason. AND ALSO! (family guy dad voice) i did not care for jason/artemis. Boring, yawning, sloppy, lazy. very predictable from the go and not even in a fun way, i was over it already and i read like only 7 chapters.  

And also a minor detail that i disliked, i hated jason's haircut KJLFG like that pissed me off so badly everytime i saw him without the helmet, put that shit back on.

Anyways, hope that was semi coherent, complaining about the way a comic is written just for the criticism so be terribly redacted is extremely ironic but well, i'm not being paid for it :P

edit just to add that unfortunately i Have been keeping up with it (stopped paying for fast pass v early on tho lmao), and the issues jules mentions above do persist and only get worse as the comic progresses <3 it's all very superficial, doesn't make sense most of the time, pacing is so clunky and writer doesn't seem to know which canon to stick to. jason is very ooc, he's just a dick just to be a dick and not in like a fun cunty way yk ? he's portrayed as uncaring and very like,, incompetent. artemis is ooc too to an extent. like you can't even enjoy it in the way wfa can be enjoyed as a silly little webtoon it just kinda like. sucks.

ok, so I think you actually might know a little about this one already, but... I've talked this one over with @stealyourblorbos multiple times, and we've decided that not only is the MMC going to be spooky... but so is his horse. (Jules if you still have that picture we talked about, PLEASE post it because I cannot for the life of me find it, and it was perfect.)

It's an AU for a character that I currently write for. Most of it takes place in the late 1800's/early 1900's. I'm keeping a lot of elements from his canon storyline, but adapting them to fit this scenario.

He's terrifying - and people are right to think that ... but he's also good, even though he doesn't stick around in one place for long enough for anyone to get to know him. He's been through a lot, is a little older than he looks ... and he's lost just about everything except a sense of what's right.

Thank you so much for asking. That one's going to be v fun to write, but I want to focus on it ... and I have so much other stuff going on right now that it's not fair of me to begin something new.

3.What ideas come from when you were little I don't really have any current projects or characters directly from when I was a child but more broadly I had a love of sci-fi and the supernatural from a young age. Me and my stepsisters were really into ghost hunting and cryptid shows that were all over tv in the early 2010s, I regularly watched a lot of Fringe, V, and Falling Skies...I think that was pretty formative to my interest in mixing those genres into most things I make.

8.What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in I had a big Jules Verne phase in high school and had this idea of a space opera-y comic inspired by 20,000 Leagues that I lost steam on, but i think it would be fun to revisit in the future when I have more time for research and when I'm better at making comics.

30.What piece of yours do you think is underrated Maybe my chainsaw man one, I really liked the rendering and coloring I did and how I drew all the characters. It didn't get a lot of traction when I posted it though.

Jules Herrick went missing without a trace in the early nineties, and his hunting partner, Simon Villanova, never saw him again. We jump ahead about twenty-five years and realize why he should’ve stayed missing. Victor and Amelia are two childhood friends separated by time and responsibility, reuniting for what should be a normal road trip under less fortunate circumstances - the death of a mutual friend. However, the trip is quickly derailed by a strange pursuer that sends them on the run, and into action.  The people who catch up with them to help are not what they expect. The lives their families have led were kept from the two for safety. But between a rogue demon, its lost hellhound, and a secret organization hunting down the missing man and his cohorts, one question must be asked: What does Jules Herrick want with the end of the world, as they know it?

go catch a sunset (stanford-era dean/the outsiders bullshit): a Stanford-era Dean fic (which has 2 chapters up!) that I sort of use as my lil swimming pool for figuring ideas out? Mostly just speculation and big character thoughts on that very vulnerable time. I'm v much looking forward to introducing both Bobby and Cassie soon, getting some Winchester drama, and picking at those good backstory characters.

mama barracuda (WIP title - eldritch horror type shit): an original work (short story). "There's a monster in the woods, just off the beaten path from Hope's home. She isn't the first to be trapped into position of Keeper for the Barracuda of the Backwoods, but she is the first - in a very long time - to truly understand her. They call her Mama." So essentially - monster collects teeth for her own rotting mouth. Sisyphean effort on the Keeper's part. Symbiotic parasite/mother-daughter type shit. LOTS TO UNPACK.

this is simultaneously the best and worst choice for fandoms because I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT....... but at the same time....... I love everything about it. my answers will be useless.

Noelle’s earbuds were firmly in her ears as she made herself a sandwich, pausing every few seconds to headbang as Logan entered the frame. He wandered over and wrapped his arms around her waist; she jumped in surprise, then pulled him for a hug with a light kiss to the side of his head.

“Ça va?” she asked.

“Bien.” His voice was slightly muffled by her thick ponytail.

She patted his back, then bent her knees and lifted him off his feet.

“Noelle!” he squawked, kicking to no avail. “Put me down!”

“Nope,” she grunted, hoisting him higher. “You’re coming with me, LoLo. Like un petit security blanket.”

“Don’t use the nickname,” he complained. “This is for tiktok!”

“Bonjour, tiktok!” she called as she buttered the other side of her bread with one hand.

The camera shuddered for a moment before focusing—Jules’ face broke into a wide grin, showing his missing canine tooth, and he gave it a thumbs-up before tiptoeing into the living room, where Remus was kneeling by the DVD player with a frown. He pushed his way under Remus’ elbow and wrapped both arms around him, holding tight.

“Wh—hello,” Remus laughed, leaning back to make more room. “Can I help you?”

“Just wanted a hug.”

“Aw, buddy.” He returned the embrace and rubbed his back with a soft hum. “Everything alright?”

“Mhmm.”

“Love you.”

“Ew.”

Remus flicked his ear lightly, but his smile did not falter for a second as Jules hid his face in his neck.

“What are you doing?” Regulus asked as Sirius entered the room.

“C’mere.”

“Why?”

“I have something for you.”

He narrowed his eyes. “What is it?”

“A surprise.”

“I don’t like surprises.”

“Yes, you do. C’mere.”

Regulus stood with suspicion written all over his face, but walked closer; Sirius opened his arms and befuddlement replaced his unease as he returned Sirius’ hug. “Is this it?” he asked, hooking his chin over Sirius’ shoulder.

“Yep.”

“Oh.” They were quiet for a moment before Regulus scooted closer, nearly disappearing into Sirius’ hold. “Why are you so warm?”

“Because I just worked out.”

“Aw, gross!” Regulus complained, stepping away immediately with an expression of pure disgust as Sirius cackled. “You’re all sweaty! I have to go take a shower now, you asshole.”

“Oh, cooties,” Sirius mocked, dodging a punch to his arm as he grinned.

Finn squinted in the sunlight as he started the video; in the background, Alex was chatting with Kasey on the lawn. “I’m going to regret this,” he muttered before jogging over and hugging his brother from behind.

Without skipping a beat, Alex set his cup down, took Finn’s arms, and judo-flipped him onto the thick grass. “So anyway,” he continued, picking his drink up as Finn groaned out a laugh beneath him. “I was talking to Logan the other day—"

“I can do it!” a teenage girl insisted as she set the camera up against a fence. She held her tongue between her braces-clad teeth and slowly stepped back; when the phone stayed upright, she fist-pumped, and her older sister gave her an approving look. “Alright, come on.”

Talker gave no sign of noticing them as they crept up behind him, save for a small smile quirking the edge of his mouth up while he tapped out a text. The older girl, who couldn’t have been more than 25, counted down from three with her fingers—as soon as she reached ‘one’, they lunged forward and snagged him around the waist.

“Gotcha!” the younger girl laughed, squeezing him tight.

“Oh, no!” Talker exclaimed dramatically, swaying back and forth. The amusement melted from their faces in half a second. “I’ve been vanquished!”

And he collapsed on the grass in a heap, crushing them both beneath him. “Get off!” the older girl complained, doing her best to elbow him in the thigh as he got comfortable.

Talker gasped. “They live? My enemies survive? Death! Death before dishonor!”

Their indignance quickly turned to shrieking laughter as he tickled their knees, showing no mercy as the younger girl dissolved into a puddle of giggling and left her sister to fend for herself. The video cut off just as she shoved with her full strength, toppling Talker onto the ground and turning the tables.
