what's the one thing makes me say
heaven's just across the way
it's a precious little thing called love

1920s Steddie AU where Steve is a children's book illustrator and Eddie is a writer
(more beneath the cut)
So, Steve Harrington comes from a rich family who funds his career as an illustrator. A fortunate, posh, snobbish boy who got sent to prestigious art schools and went to galleries and exhibits. He has refined taste, thank you, just a bit uptight about it.
But then he comes across the written works of Eddie Munson (under an alias) and becomes star struck with his work. He creates poems, stories, sonnets, odes; fantasies of escapism, love and unconventional love. He writes erratically, like a livewire, a tremendous build up, a climax that rumbles and leads to an almost plummeting fall. Ends with a resolution that settles your heart. He writes like he wants to be seen, and Steve gets the urge to want to illustrate for him.
So he sends letters, invites, and whatever he can to reach Eddie. When Eddie gets back to him, they both find that they are both enamored with each other’s work. In fact, they’re so enamored with each other, they send letters back and forth, first about plans to meet, to become familiar, to acquaint themselves with each other. But the more they write, the more they fall for their idiosyncrasies, their little quirks, the way they write and cross out their own words or misspell a certain word. Little doodles from Steve, footnotes and poems and turns of phrases from Eddie.
Then they meet, and it’s like. Things are better. Much more real. Man, they’re in love. They never realized it before, until they stood there in front of each other, and they’re scared of course, terrified, even. But they have each other.
So they work together, publish works together. Their stories and illustrations combined are a wonder; fantastical, eerie, but with love and lessons. They move in together, under the guise of work.
Live together and never part, just hidden in the pocket of their lives.
It’s 20s America, but they make it work

It's newsletter time babey!!
I've some catching up to do 🏃♂️
I basically ended up taking a complete hiatus from tumblr for several months when my migraines got real bad last year. And then things, as things do, kept on happening. Bastards.
I haven't looked much at the tag yet and I still have to catch up with the first five? Chapters and relearn the ropes so to speak, but hopefully I'll see some familiar faces around this year, and new ones 👀
Last time I couldn't get to the end but what I did get through was a lot of fun and the best part was what everyone else was saying and drawing and discussing! That's what I missed the most, was talking and joking with everyone. Lotr is probably my Favorite Story, and to have this in-time community readthrough is such a treasure. As usual, three cheers for @sindar-princeling for organizing. It's a hell of a feat 😁
I'm arriving uh...Precisely When I Mean To ;] but here's to a great year! 💚🍻

Twitter talking about Crush 40 covers and whatever, I think they're wrong on Crush 40 doing dog shit covers, I think they make decent covers, some absolute bangers and some misses (not their fault 7 rings is a dog shit song /j /j /j)
But I just fucking learned today that Crush 40's "All Hail Shadow" was a cover. IT BLOWS MY MIND THAT IT WAS A COVER, IT'S SUCH A GOOD COVER IT BLOWS THE ORIGINAL OFF RIGHT OUT THE WIND. It fit's Shadow's gritty nature and edginess way better than the original ever did. No offense to the OGs but their's sounded way too hopeful and smooth to fit the chaotic and gritty nature STH 2005 was trying to go for
Also defending their "His World" cover. I think their riffs and verses are more iconic than Zebrahead's IDGAF. And I think the Zebrahead version is the best version of His World! Like I can understand not liking the beginning but once the main theme kicks in, I think it fits with the more cinematic type of look Sonic 06 was trying to take. I know the original was trying to serve that purpose but it balances both the cinematic and edgy/cool look of Sonic 06
WHATEVER I'll defend them to my death
Edit: re-listened to 7 rings. It's an ok song, and the "make believes reborn" will always be iconic, I will agree
