ModernRoomate!Muriel x Reader, where Muriel collects you up after you've returned from a party. Perhaps you're exhausted, perhaps you're drunk, but you swat the lights of the room until it's turned off, and you flop onto the nearest large-enough surface you can find. Maybe it's the couch, maybe it's the table, maybe it's the floor. You don't know, and you don't care.

Muriel on the other hand, does.

Of course he does.

He collects you up off the floor. Not scooping you up, lest your delirious brain swivel and swirl in your skull, till your eyes ache even worse, and your stomach flips upside down—no, he simply ushers you up and off of your sloppy sleeping place, offering an arm for you to lean on as he slowly guides you to your bedroom.

You mutter something, drowsily, incoherently, and in that warm, rumbly hushed voice of his, he hums, asking you what you meant with as little sound as possible.

"Makeup," you manage to mutter and grumble. "need t'take of my makeup...just take me to the bathroom."

He does as you ask, and the lights of the bathroom are flickered on. Miserably, horribly bright, but mandatory for your needs.

You're about to paw the area for your makeup wipes, but Muriel tugs you back before he pulls out a little unmarked bottle of... something and begins to clean your face, letting you close your eyes, as he wipes away the smears and marks your makeup left behind, running lukewarm water over your face, enough to build little puddles of water around the small sink. You feel clean when he's all done tidying you up, a little dry perhaps, but that might've been from the drinks, or the sweat. You expect him to lead you back to the bedroom then, but he fishes a more familiar bottle from the messy shared sink space, and rubs your moisturizer into your face.

Finally done with that, he leads you back into your room, drapes a blanket over your shoulders and helps you to tug the worst of your party outfit off. You're mostly covered by the blanket, but whatever skin shows is covered by the lights still left off in your room, though the washroom lights linger, exposing a sliver of skin to any eyes who may choose to pry.

Muriel's green eyes catch gold from the old bathroom lights. Even in the dark, he still looks away, insistent to give you your privacy.

Maybe you're naked in the end. Maybe you manage to worm at least some portion of your pajamas on. Regardless, Muriel simply tucks that blanket around your shoulders to cover you better, and helps usher you into your bed.

He's about to leave, but you hold him back, clinging to his clothes, perhaps, or wrapping your fingers around some of his own before he can pull away.

It's dark. You're exhausted. The only coherent thing you can manage to say is, "I didn't know you could do that."

"Do what?" His voice feels lower somehow. It's certainly quieter, but the low rumble of it makes you lean towards him, towards the sound of him, even as your head continues to ache.

"Remove makeup. Didn't know you knew how to do that."

He hums, soft and deep just like before, and he hesitates by your bedside. Maybe he wants to reply, maybe he doesn't want to explain. You don't care either way. You want him to linger by your side.

He leans closer towards you and you can feel it more than you can see it, the brush of his clothes as they drape closer towards you, the warmth of his chest, of his hands, the tickle of his hair against your skin.

Light passes through the window, gold and red illuminating him for a moment, to confirm your suspicions, but halt his movement. He hesitates, still standing over you when the light fades from the window, that car somewhere far away by now, and he leans back, squeezing your hand as he goes, soothing his thumb over a patch of your wrist, as he leaves.

and all too soon, he pulls away.

She finds it very amusing watching them try to convince everyone they’re much scarier than they are.

Chandra doesn’t really help, seeing as she’s more intimidating than they are.

If they give him a 'stern' look they’re just proving his point!

He gets so flustered when they start a lecture on how they definitely are scary. 

Inanna just stares, unimpressed. They’re not scary, she’s the only terrifying one here, of course.

Portia

She's just as stubborn about it as MC is.

Portia won't often tease about it, but when she does it can go all day.

She'll often point out when the MC is proving her point.

She loves to watch the MC defend their case, even if it's a lost cause.

Pepi won’t agree with them either, she’s learned that lesson before.

At least the MC and Portia can be cute and unexpectedly powerful together?

Lucio

He’s staring at them like they grew two heads.

They’re what now? Sorry, he must have heard that wrong.

He most definitely thinks they're adorable trying to convince him that they're scary.

he would readily agree to go with you, though he is scared, he is excited to spend time with you and most likely has never been to a haunted house before (protect this bby at all costs)

he gets scared easily, but he wouldnt scream. He would yelp in surprise whenever he gets jumpscared and hugs you for support

if you both are scared, you two would be hugging each other the whole time

if youre not, you end up protecting him and reassuring him throughout

he finds the experience fun and thrilling and would 100% want to go again someday

overall, a fun and chill experience 9/10

Spica:

at first he rejects your invitation, until you use your puppy dog eyes on him, he sighs and agrees.

he definitely doesnt get scared at all (even if he did, he is good at hiding it), instead he points out at the decor and atmosphere, stating that they did a good job with the production

if youre scared, he would have an arm around you to ‘protect’ you, reassuring you and tells you to close your eyes if you want to.

“it’s okay summoner, i’m right here.”

10/10 experience, only if you are scared (he will comfort you <3) because if youre not, it seriously wouldnt be that fun. Probably you both would be discussing about how good the acting of the scare actors are

Pollux:

he is scared, DEFINITELY SCARED. But since it is you, he agrees, but pleads with you, even if it means going down on his knees, to not bring alpheratz or sirius with the both of you (so that he wouldnt get teased)

screams like a girl. Even if you are scared, youre more afraid of his screams than the scare actors. Either ways, you end up walking in front with him clinging onto your arm. (If you are the type to tease him, i believe you dont even have the energy to do so from all his screaming)

after the haunted house, he would pretend as if nothing happened, as if he wasnt scared in the first place.

“It wasn’t that bad. What? What do you mean i scream like a girl? No, i dont- hey! :< please dont tell alpheratz or sirius, please!”

And if that didn't work

Being a demon themselves they'd enlist the help of a preist to do it for them if not scaring them into it.

With the demon possessing their s/o knowing that they know valdemar would either be very careful in excectuing the exorcism or they would just slam you on their vivisection table and get to work.

When the demon would've finally leaving their beloved they would definitely start placing cloaking spells onto their s/o whenever there out of their sights.

More Siblings! Brainrot

Yuno's Perspective

Yuno left to Vesuvia to set up shop and earn money for their family (mainly to support their siblings)

Their parents are dead :(

Yuno would send letters with money to Yuki and Yuu

When Yuno died due to the plauge, they stopped sending letters, causing a lot of concern with the two younger siblings.

By this point, Yuki was the breadwinner of the house, though both of the siblings would be transported to other worlds

Each of the siblings follows the main canon, if only some slight variations.

Mainly, with Yuno, they defeat the devil and ends up becoming friends with all the characters (Lucio isn't banished or whatever. He does step down as king and becomes Nadia's general tho)

Ok anyways Yuno didn't remember their siblings at all after they revived

Since they never mentioned their siblings often, Asra and Julian do not mention Yuki or Yuu to them

Only because Scout guided Yuno back to some of their old childhood memories did Yuno remember.

Yuno went on a journey to find their siblings again, only to find out that they had mysteriously dissapeared

Yuno is freaking out, unsure if they had left due to Yuno disappearing or if they had fallen victim to the Red Plauge

They're devastated, returning back to Vesuvia with a heavy heart.

When they do return, they focus on helping Nadia with improving the Vesuvia, traveling with Portia and Asra and establishing diplomatic relations, training with Lucio, helping the public with Julian, and going back to Muriel's ancestral home to tend to the graves

Then, one day, when Yuno is traveling, Scout appears. Curiously, Scout looks excited, tugging Yuno. They follow, unsure as to where the excited pup was guiding them.

Then, they come onto an empty field, standing on a rock. Confused, Yuno looked down, and saw their two siblings.

Cue a very tearful reunion between the siblings.

"Where were you??" "I died." "YOU WHAT?"

Yuki and Yuu were shocked to hear that Yuno had died due to the plague, but was later revived. Their siblings were disheartened to hear that they did not remember the two of them, however they are glad that Yuno went to look for them once they did remember

Now, Yuki and Yuu explain what they have been up to.

Yuno is shocked that they ended up in different worlds. Which is odd, but magic exists anything can really happpen.

They're about to throw hands with Crowley. How dare he leave their precious sibling in some run down building!? Did he even offer them food and water?

Yuno also feels terrible, wishing that they taught Yuu some simple magic spells that would've helped them during their time at NRC

Nearly dies of a heart attack after hearing how many times Yuu has almost died. Overblots? Hardly know 'em. Absolutely horrified at Twisted Wonderland's magic system

Yuki was in hell. Yuki was in hell.

Yuno's going to pull up to hell and beat up Belphegor for actually murdering Yuki. Even if they are alive.

Yuno is happy that Yuki knows magic, and is willing to teach Yuki more (Mostly self defense magic for...reasons)

Now Yuno wants to meet Yuki and Yuu's friends/found family and make sure that they're being treated with the love that they themselves couldn't give them.

He behaves hostilely towards the Summoner at first because Sirius began avoiding him, giving him the cold shoulder in favor of the Summoner… Pollux warms up to the Summoner after they are there to comfort him despite his hostility.

Sirius previously referred to Pollux as Bunny in a sexual way. Arcturus once looked over Pollux’s shoulder at his phone screen and asked what that meant. Pollux was mortified and refused to answer.

Sirius just likes to occasionally visit the Summoner while they are studying in the library. If the Summoner is short he’ll pick them up, sit down, and place them on his lap like it’s nothing. The Summoner has become used to this, they recognize his presence before he even approaches so they are already mentally prepared- but when Sirius begins whispering in their ear he becomes quite the distraction.

Loves playing with your hair, especially if it’s long enough to style!!

Has no idea how to react when you actually flirt back or make a move, possibly tenses up or asks if what you did was a cruel joke… (poor baby has self-esteem issues)

Sirius cannot let go of the idea of Polaris, he will often project onto the Summoner when roleplaying with them and tell them vague stories with minor changes about himself and Polaris in hopes of triggering memories.

Sirius adores you, the Summoner, Polaris, seeing you as his only safe space but still he has trouble opening up because he knows you aren’t his Polaris but so very much wishes you to be… To an unhealthy degree, wishing that in the first place is unhealthy and projecting.

Floor 8-17 The Summoner asks Sirius if he knew Polaris personally, he asks them what they think. Sirius did and does.

Vega will absolutely beg on his knees for the other sorcerers to let him be with you. Eventually Vega feels so guilty he can't bear with himself.

He doesn't want to kill anyone, but he needs you. He needs you more than anything and anyone. He knows it's wrong.

However since he just confessed, will he be reported?

Spica's support. Spica cannot tolerate a threat of other sorcerers. However he does try to get Vega some help. Spica cares about his friends, so he begs Vega to get therapy and respects Vegas wishes of staying away. He also informs the counselor of Vega having "self esteem issues" so now Vega talks to the counselor too

Sirius' support. Sirius has his own fair share of horrible actions. Including putting other sorcerers in danger. He also just doesn't care about Vega killing others so he leaves Vega be. He might even help Vega if Vega asks. Or maybe Sirius will just offer. But in the end he worries about Vega too. Just a lil

Alpharatz's support. Alpharatz as the grandson of Schedar, and much as he dislikes his grandfather he doesn't report Vega. He also tries to get Vega help via healthy options and not murder. He urged Vega to get help immediately pretending to not care much. He cares a lot.

Arcturus' support. Arcturus is terrified to say the least. His adorable and friendly nature also coming into hand, Vega is his friend and Arcturus is loyal. So he stays silent and obeys Vega's wishes. Arcturus is truly the best friend. However he also worries about Vega. He wants his friends to be healthy and happy so he'll watch Vega from afar and make sure he's okay.

Pollux's support. Pollux also somewhat afraid of Vega, respects his wishes. But also because Pollux is loyal, even if he's sometimes stubborn he's still friendly and caring. So he doesn't do anything. Although he did stop associating himself with Vega in private. And after he got mad said "You're a sick person!" He calmed down and asked Vega to get therapy.

Vegas honesty quite pleased he wasn't reported but he does come to a realization that hits hard. And now he's sure to get help.

Vega doesn't dare share his actions though for obvious reasons, and the summoner is still oblivious.

Good end:

Vega confessed to You eventually. And once You accepted him he was over the moon. still composed of course.

He loves you dearly and you're finally all his, you belong to him now.

He's not into PDA but he'll hold your hand and waist to show that you're his.

Eventually later though he'll break down and let out his guilt. You do take this understanding btw

You grow up, get married and have kids (wether adoption or pregnancy doesn't matter)

He does get therapy, even if he didn't confess because he'd get arrested. And it helped him a lot to overcome the jealousy.

He gets mad and begins to mass murder everyone. If he can he'll kidnap you and hide you away with just him forever.

Thinking of Asra leaving Faust to watch the apprentice nap for a bit while they go get protective charms from Muriel. The appprentice wakes up and decides to change Faust into all the pretty colors cause they got bored waiting, so by the time Asra gets back the shop is covered in green footprints, yellow handprints and purple slithers all over the floor while the apprentice giggles and goes "Look! Rainbow fun baba!"

(A little drabble I wrote directly into the tumblr post system lol)

I don't think Muriel has more than one plate in his house.

I can't help but imagine that he did once. That Asra had their own plate he carved with a clumsy little star in the center or something, but when Asra spent more time at MC's shop, they took with them a handful of their favorite things, which included the plate but excluded Muriel.

And so, he's had nothing but a single plate in his hut. A single plate and a single cup. Inanna drinks water from a bucket or runs down to a nearby river to get her fill.

I don't think Muriel ever really gets a second plate—or at least he waits a long time before he does.

When you move in with him, he's ashamed of the absence at first, that he didn't have anything for you to use, but you just grin, and propose you share the plate for now.

When you said for now, you offered to go buy your own plate at the store. When you said for now, Muriel offered to carve your own plate for you. It takes a little discussing, but you concede to Muriel's offer, and he sets out to carve your plate for you. Not before you eat your current meal of course.

It's a small meal. Nothing too astounding, but when it's piled as two servings on one plate, Muriel can't help but feel like it's too much. Like he's hoarding food, taking so much more than he should.

He tries to eat less. Tries to count the entire meal together. one for me, two for you, one for me, three for you. But all it takes is for you to cling to the spoon you had passed between the both of you, and use it to feed him to make him forget the count entirely.

You lean into his space, and coax his mouth open, your eyes on his, dropping to his lips, as you offer the spoon to him. He complies. Easily. Helplessly. He complies, and accepts the food you offer him earning a pleased smile on your own lips.

Still holding onto that very same spoon, you feed yourself a bite.

And perhaps it's because you had been passing it between you earlier, or that he was simply more preoccupied with counting the number of bites he took, but somehow, watching you eat with the same spoon he used seems more intimate than it should be.

You feed him another bite, and then another, and another, and Muriel has to scramble for the spoon before you pull it back down to the plate, before you feed him all that's there.

this time, he has the chance to feed you. He offers the spoon up to your lips and finds himself almost mirroring your mouth as it opens wide to take the spoon, too wide perhaps, and though Muriel can't manage to tear away his eyes from your mouth, he can't help but feel like you're teasing him.

And when you finally accept your bite of food, the pleased hum, is terrifyingly close to a moan. Again, he finds you grinning, radiant and bright, and he has to give up the spoon to you before he ends up conceding to your wishes even more.

Only, when you take the spoon, you don't take a bite for yourself. Once more, you're just back to feeding Muriel.

And it continues like that. Feeding each other as you steal the food from the others' fingertips to get the chance to feed each other. You grow so used to it, that even in other settings, where you each have your own plate, your own spoon and your own fork, you can't help but fall into the habit of feeding each other bites from your own plates.

I imagine that eventually, Muriel would have to finish carving a second plate. To use when one of you is sick so that you don't end up spreading your illness to the other, but even then you still find yourselves feeding each other. It's obvious for the healthy to feed the ill, but sometimes if he's sick, he feeds you a bite or two of your own food careful not to cough or sneeze on your plate, but happy and eager to be able to feed you if only a little. He treats it like a kiss sometimes. Even if he didn't use the spoon himself, it reminds him of the many times, you shared a spoon and a plate.

Even with this second plate however, you're often sharing just one, and still sharing the same spoon, feeding each other bites of the meal as you chat and talk or simply sit and bask in each other's company.

Sometimes you sit on his lap while you eat, facing him with the plate of food on the side, so you can feed him and so he can feed you. It always leaves him flustered, but it also helps him to eat more as he can never really manage to remember how much he's eating when he's this embarrassed about you in his lap.

Idk just a thought.

There was no thought process here, exept for the fact that the courts Queastor sometimes attempts to be polite to the passing palace servants to appear more ‘normal’ but they forget their face is utterly broken.

How do you think the M6 would react to an MC who has super awful night terrors and cry in their sleep? Also how would they react if MC kept asking if they can share the bed/cuddle because it helps keep them calm?

M6 w/an MC who has Night Terrors

I decided to have this take place during the story rather than in their upright endings, to make it a little more interesting.

Asra

He often remembers how close the two of them were before he had to bring them back

MC'll rarely find them saying no to them both sharing the bed or cuddling, they've wanted to hold MC that close for a long time.

Asra cherishes these moments as much as he curses them.

Once MC has one of their night terrors he's there in any way he can be.

They'll refrain from touching if he knows that could hurt the MC in some way, but they will have them close.

Makes sure they get rehydrated and feel safe before they go back to bed.

Julian

He'll wake the MC up from their night terror as gently as possible.

He talks to the MC the whole time in very soft whispers.

Gets them water after reassuring them he'll be right back, he knows how much they need it.

If they want him to hold them or to share the bed he'll bashfully agree

Julian spoons them, this way he can speak to them and they can have their back against his chest for support.

Whispers to them about anything they want until they fall asleep, be it a fairytale or a tale of his own life.

Nadia

She understands the MC's struggles to some degree, even she can't avoid nightmares and night terrors on occasion.

She'll talk to the MC once she gets them awake. Only touching them if they allow her to.

Nadia prefers to touch lightly, rubbing the MC's arm, wrapping them in the sheets, or softly rubbing their back are all ways she offers her comfort.

If the MC doesn't beat her to it, she'll open up her room to them.

She'll have somebody bring them water once they've been talked down.

She holds the MC close to her chest, their head under her chin.

Muriel

He's not that inviting at first, but as MC's and his relationship progresses he'd be more than willing.

He's hesitant to touch them, but if MC were to ask for him to hold them, he would.

Hands down the best physical comfort for night terrors they can find here.

Muriel's arms are very strong, and with how big he is he can easily hold the MC. His arms are also good for holding onto.

Portia

Wakes the MC up gently at first, only getting firm if that doesn't work.

She'll rub the MC's back and hold them if they allow her to. Otherwise she's helping them breathe, talking them down.

Portia will leave MC in Pepi's care while she gets water for them.

She has two ways of bringing the MC back to bed, wrapping them in a giant blanket burrito or practically manhandling them there (as gently as manhandling can be).

She'll hold MC close, being the big spoon if they're burrito'd or letting them rest their head on her chest.

Lucio

He's very worried but awkward.

Lucio doesn't know how to wake them up or comfort them immediately, but he'll try his best.

When the MC does wake up, he'll talk to them. He'll ask them if they're okay and if that doesn't work he's glad to fill in the silence for them.

If the MC wishes for him to share the bed or hold them, he'll gladly do so. He'll hold them as snug as possible without being too tight.

Whatever the MC wants from him in that moment, he'll give it to them.

He'll have Mercedes and Melchior lay around them for extra grounding and comfort while they sleep.

Okay! Sooo, first up: his casual clothes.

so!! I'm really proud of Muriels. I gave him grey hairs since he's undergone so much stress. I also have him two more scars, one under his eye and one on his collarbone area.

another thing I did was remove the spikes from his collar and cuffs. I wasn't feeling them, so I got rid of them xoxo

I got rid of the extra belts because,, they were useless I didn't like the way they looked. For the belts I DID keep, I roughed them up. I also roughed up his arm wraps and scarf/wrap thing.

some minor stuff I did that i want to point out:

made his scarf green to add some color

scratched up the cuffs around his arms and neck

messier hair

Now for his masquerade look :D

Honestly did not do much. I removed his little boob window (sorry muriel lovers). I added patterns to his little transparent arm things and hos blue coat thing.

My favorite part is that I added forget me nots into his hair,, thought it was fitting.
