Ok you guys are going to think I'm making this up as a joke, but I've genuinely been trying to troubleshoot this for the past hour.
I've programmed Holmes and Watson to walk to these coordinates and sit down
And in my game development engine, I have tested what this will look like by manually moving the sprites to those exact coordinates.
It should look like this:
But whenever I run the game and test it they keep sitting like this:
I swear I'm not making it up, "Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson keep kissing and I don't know why" is a genuine game development conundrum that I am dealing with.

Back the Kickstarter!
It is 1920, and in a sleepy Sussex village, an elderly beekeeper (who is definitely not the world’s greatest detective… any more) is trying to arrange a very important picnic for his dear friend Watson. The only problem is that a series of pesky mysteries keep getting in the way!
A retro-inspired cosy point and click adventure and mystery(ish) game lovingly inspired by the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
With a series of exciting rewards!

I wanted to try pixel art, but I got lazy
(besides, I messed up Watson, so I don't show it)

It's THEM!
I already had some placeholder graphics for a young Holmes and Watson for the prologue, but I knew at some point I'd need to change them,
A) because they were TOO young
B) because I particularly didn't like the Holmes, he was kind of wonky and he didn't have a chin. Sherlock Holmes needs a CHIN.
So I've been beavering away, and here are some new sprites! I'm so happy with these. Arthur Conan Doyle would probably feel I've made Holmes too handsome and I'm afraid Watson is always going to look like a mix of David Burke and Vitaly Solomin to me!
I also made a series of expressions for them! It's really fun deciding which expression they should wear for each line of dialogue. Making Watson's moustache Do Things was especially fun.

When I was first tasked with drawing these two men of note, I couldn't help but draw inspiration from @beekeeperspicnic's wonderful designs. You really hit it on the nail with their retirement looks!
silly addition below the cut:

I have the Mycroft Holmes Simulator just on my browser that opens up every time I log on.
Today I glanced at it and chuckled, because I misread it as “Microsoft Holmes Simulator”

One fun fact about me is that I played the demo of The Beekeeper's Picnic by @beekeeperspicnic and it's brought me nearly to tears several times just out of pure like. sentimentality?? affection for these two men and this very specific little world they inhabit? my foolish heart that's been stuck on Sherlock Holmes for going on ten years now? idk man idk

Beginning my journey to share every Sherlock Holmes game I can get my hands on with the impossibly charming @beekeeperspicnic demo!
I'm beyond excited for the full release! And would highly recommend playing this for yourself on steam or itch, and to please go support/follow @jabbage on their Kickstarter!

So i was watching a trailer for that Jason Statham action flick "The Beekeeper" this week:
Quite nice. But somehow I always kept returning to the thought how little this project has in common with @beekeeperspicnic. *lol*
In related news, I played through the demo of "The Beekeeper's Picnic" and my gosh, it's just as lovely as I had up for! Getting exactly the amount of "Mr. Holmes" (2015) vibes that I hoped for. So very cosy, thanks for making this! And now please excuse me, I'm off to throw money at someone's kickstarter!

4, 5, 8, 18 for the video games asks. :)
4. Do you like to get 100% achievements/trophies?
I usually try, however I’m not always able to - for example, I probably won’t be able to get all achievements from Stardew Valley because two of them involve playing a minigame (Journey of the Prairie King) that I suck at. However, I do try to get all the ones that I can get
5. Game(s) coming out that you’re looking forward to
The port/remaster of the Apollo Justice games, and the Sherlock Holmes game @beekeeperspicnic !
8. A series you haven’t played but are interested in trying
Professor Layton, maybe - at the very least I want to play or watch an LP of the crossover with Ace Attorney. Might play/watch the other games, but I’m not sure. I also have a bunch of standalone/one-off games that I want to try out, like Disco Elysium, Pentiment, and Ghost Trick
18. A game location you really like
Herlock and Iris’ apartment from The Great Ace Attorney!

Okay! Doing commentary on the demo of The Beekeeper's Picnic in reblog-ish fashion!
I really like the look of the beginning! The music is super nice and calming in an upbeat way!
Oh, btw. Not a critic or trying to be, and in no way an expert on anything game, music or otherwise related.
I believe it's by @jabbage , please correct me if I am wrong, however.
