Except the fire ghoul didn't pull away immediately after, no. He took the time to rest his cheek on Zephyr's knee, to look up at them softly with a smile so gentle it should have been entirely innocent but the sudden flames licking Zephyr's insides at the sight disagreed.

And now the air ghoul is cursed to notice everything Ifrit does that shouldn't be arousing, but is. Like immediately leaning into Zephyr's touch when they slip a finger under his chin to redirect his attention to whatever the air ghoul is telling him about.

Or constantly sitting lower than Zephyr, so Ifrit can rest just the way he did after doing their shoelaces - which seems to be his favorite way of spending time now, cheek smushed against the soft fabric of Zephyr's pants, absent-midedly drawing little hearts on them with the tip of his fingers.

Even when Zephyr thinks they're safe - nothing attractive about helping Ifrit shave the side of his hair he keeps shorter than the rest, right ? They somehow end up with Ifrit kneeling in front of them in the bathroom, his forehead now and then bumping against the air ghoul's tummy while they try to keep their hand steady ; Zephyr would hate to accidentally cut Ifrit's ear because they were too distracted by those eager orange eyes looking up at them with unashamed reverence. Zephyr damn near loses it when Ifrit starts kissing their belly as they inspect their work, hand reflexively tightening in the longer part of the fire ghoul's hair.

Instead of protesting, Ifrit simply let his head roll back, following the pull of Zephyr's clumsy, flustered hold. His eyes are half-lided now, though, mouth curved ever so slightly in the beginning of a smirk, and for the first time, it dawns on Zephyr that maybe Ifrit isn't as oblivious as they thought.

Something must have shown on their face, because Ifrit's almost-smile becomes a full one, and his hands find their way to Zephyr's waist, splaying there, pinky fingers slipping under the waistband of their pants.

"Come to bed ?" Ifrit mumbles against Zephyr's belly, eagernes betrayed by the sway of his tail.

A tempting offer, one that Zephyr feels powerless against.

The look in Ifrit's eyes is clear as day. Tonight, Zephyr is going to be worshiped.

so ik we headcanon zephyr as disabled and i had a moment today where my legs straight up stopped working because i do am disabled-

which ghouls can pick them up to help if they fall, and how do they (other ghouls) react to it?

I think every ghoul when they meet Zeph has the knee jerk reaction to baby them, overly asking if they’re ok and if they can do anything for them and I think it annoys Zeph, though they understand the other ghouls hearts are in the right place.

When they do fall it’s common for a freak out to happen when someone hasn’t witnessed it before. In zephyrs perfect world no one would react and they’d be able to go on their merry way, most of the time this happens but some of the ghouls can have a habit of doting.

Ifrit is the main ghoul who helps them, easily sets them on their feet and checks over them. Zephyr only allows him to overly check them because they know he cares (and they’re in love with him)

Aether often helps, checks them over more than he should and offers to quell any aches with his magic. Omega tends to do this too much to zephs dismay

Alpha simply gets them on their feet and gives them a thumbs up, no words needed. That’s zephyrs favorite besides ifrit.

I think all the ghouls can help in some capacity, but usually it’s left to the bigger ones, almost entirely ifrit since they’re together the most

My first anon hate and it's over my handwriting?? LMAO?? I've literally never been more secure and happy in the way I write, it brings me joy to see how silly and whimsical my biology notes look! I kid you not, I literally took a slow day in my art history class to pick out which upper and lowercase letters are my favorite to write and then just... did it!

Not only is it aesthetically pleasing to me, it also helps me stop mixing up certain letters! All my life I've struggled with switching up lowercase letters like b and d, so by capitalizing one, I'm able to stop that!

And even if I had literally no reason to do it, who cares how other people write? This is such a strange thing to get pissy about? If you wanna be mad at me, pick a better reason than my handwriting LMAO

Another bg3 thought dump but I've been thinking about this all day. I think a big part of why I love the Boat Scene in Gale's romance (or at least the version I've played), and really Gale's Romance in general, is bc there's so much potential for nuance.

My Tav, Zephyr, isn't particularly faithful to any one god or the gods in general (though she does enjoy studying faerunian theology), and so in theory she's not against opposing and maybe even deposing Mystra. But she knows that many of the "gods" of the modern era were once mortals, and until the cycle can be broken she doesn't want anyone, least of all someone she cares about, to take that risk and lose themself.

When I first got to the Boat Scene, I couldn't help the feeling of dread I got bc I was sure Gale and Zephyr were about to break up. Bc I knew how strongly Gale wanted this and for (mostly) the right reasons, but I also knew Zephyr wasn't going to budge. And I feel like in many games, that would be that; characters disagree, they break up. Even though Zephyr would be against it for Gale's sake, bc she loves who he is, not who he could be.

But the dialogue is so interesting bc it actually lets them argue about it, while also giving the player to stay with him anyway.

"This doesn't have to be the end for us."

"But I could be so much more to you."

Now true source of Gale motivation is revealed. He feels like he's not enough. Which allows Zephyr to reiterate that he is, and they stay together and even grow closer!

It just makes both characters feel very real to me, and I appreciate that they can talk and argue until they get deeper and deeper into why the other one feels this way. It's almost like how couples actually are in real life!
