Many people draw their Narinders with too much rizz (and that's a good thing)
Look how many handsome cats there are in the community, and these are just some of my favourite designs.
All these belong to their respective artists:
@kagamineriri , @lammydraws , @cotl-flower-crown , @iota404, @by-glass-and-waves , @lilpuffyart , @bamsara , @derpyjackarts , @huskyremix , @cotl-inspiteofyou , @thenovaartz , @midluuna , @bunnyiebon , @payasita , @dulciechi , @xmajordumps , @faery-the-diamond , @verysubarashi , @poppy-purpura , @skykiuwu

guess who got another story idea. thats right this rando
I'm thinking of an AU where Lamb and a companion/friend/sibling perhaps figure out why exactly the sheep are being hunted down and have a "fuck it if we're gonna die for something we MIGHT do let's die actually doing it" and spend years researching magic and breaking into the old Realm of Death's (Sleeping Hollow), and eventually figure out a way to bypass the Bishops' chains through ritual, a lot of very daring theft (needing ichor from all four bishops so legit just stealing their bloodied and ichor-stained bandages after they've been changed) and finding like 100 people willing to give some of their blood to make the strongest ritual a sheep working with fate can create
So imagine you're Narinder, The One Who Waits, just chillin in the After waiting for the Liberator with your two bored guardians, and then the ground around you just lights up. Aym and Baal panic and rush over and then they're all three pulled through the summoning circle, the chains crashing to the ground.... alongside the red crown :)
And then three cats, all average looking except for Nari's third eye, just tumble into the old Temple of Death and. Well. They have no clue who they are, where they are, or anything.
And then Lamb (sans the friend/sibling who will likely die giving the three cats and Lamb a chance to escape being chased) goes on a journey to fight the Bishops with three amnesiac cats on their side, and the Bishops absolutely freak when they see Narinder-
But Narinder has no idea who they are at all.
Meanwhile the red crown is still in the After....

Cult of the Lamb x Alice in Wonderland / Alice: Madness Returns crossover AU idea
Taking aspects and aesthetics from each and mashing them together with some tweaks to make up an AU that I may or may not write a multishot chapter fic for. Narilamb included + possible Leshycat
AU summary:
After following a one-eyed rat and falling into Wonderland, The Lamb is captured and sentenced to death by decapitation, only to be saved last second by a mysterious grinning cat.
They learn that they are a Lamb of prophecy: the one to defeat the tyranical rulers of Wonderland: King Leshy, Queen Heket, King Kallamar, and Majesty Shamura to free wonderland from their oppressive rule. The rulers keep an iron grip on this world's inhabitants by threatening with their own abilities, as well as a promise of a monster under their control. Legend says that there was also a fifth ruler long ago, and rumors say that after a argument, that the royal siblings either sealed him away, or fed him to the monster they claim to keep.
Yet no one has laid eyes on this creature in nearly a thousand years. Not that anyone wants to risk that, though.
Making friends and mad allies alike, the Lamb traverses through Wonderland with a three-eyed and constantly smiling cat as their trustworthy guide, who although helpful, shares little of his own motives as to why he's assisting the Lamb in the first place.
(Tags for this AU will be 'Wonderlamb Au')

*sips tea* totally for funzies but since Narinder has the Lamb, and Leshy has his yellow cat. Imagine if Kalimar also had a spouse. Or in his case, a favorite spouse since he canonically has/had multiple. One that just so happened have been a little lamb of his own. But when Shamura started speaking of the prophecies, and about how the lambs had to be irradiated or they would destroy the Old Faith. He killed them off in semi-cold blood in his fear and paranoia of the prophecy coming true. Idk just,,, Kalimar looking at Narinder and Lamb with a little bit of jealousy humors me that's all.

Jesus Christ that’s fucked man, I LOVE IT… Honestly might make a whole mini sketch comic off that heartbreaking idea

imagining being zhongli's little devoted priest/ess. he's so endeared by this little, loyal pup, he decides to give you prophecies and 'blessings' regularly so you and your little village can flourish...
problem is, whenever he delivers those prophecies, he always descends and rails you hard, whispering the words of wisdom into your ears only as you cum all over his cocks, delirious and most definitely not in the state of mind to listen. oh, but don't worry, he'll gladly repeat it for you... on your next climax, that is. after all, you have yet to manage to take both of him into your warm tightness. and he would never pass on the opportunity to bless his favorite follower, as many times as you could take before you fall limp in his hold with only his name leaving your lips, his insignia over your heart glowing with power and further cementing his influence over this mortal world.
everyone praises your devotion as you stay within the praying chamber for days on end. they joyfully cheer and prostrate with their heads onto the ground - the dominion of your go̶d - whenever you come out, because without fail, suddenly the harvest is bountiful and rain ends the long-lasting drought. they're ignorant to the sinful debauchery of your g̸̟̖̓̽od's rumbling groans as you faithfully take him into your mouth as he sits on his throne made of gilded amber, drool and cum running down your chin, teary eyes looking up at him, a lamb pleading for salvation and guidance.
and so the misleading shepherd guides you awry without you knowing; for as long as humans attain what they wish for, why would it matter if it was granted by a god or a demon?

I have a question about Lamb being the one who waits au
What about other bishops? Are they lamb's siblings there or Nari is thr only one who didn't ascend.
Also how Nari got sacrificed in that one? What lead to that?
Okay, it's time to really talk about this au.
All characters have been swapped, this applies to bishops
Heket, Kallamar, Leshy are dice players

Shamura is a mentor for Narinder (hehe)
Tumblr media
About the prophecy I think it's the same but instead of lamb there is a cat, so Nari lost all her loved ones and family

Lughnasadh or Lammas is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Historically it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland & the Isle of Man. Traditionally it is held on 1 August, or about halfway between the summer solstice & autumn equinox. In recent centuries some of the celebrations have shifted to the Sunday nearest this date.
Lughnasadh is mentioned in early Irish literature & has pagan origins. The festival is named after Lugh the god of craftsmanship. It was also founded by the god Lugh as a funeral feast & athletic competition/funeral games in memory of his foster-mother Tailtiu. She was said to have died of exhaustion after clearing the plains of Ireland for agriculture.
• Tailtiu may have been an earth goddess who represented the dying vegetation that fed mankind.
• Another tale says that Lugh founded the festival in memory of his two wives, the sisters Nás & Bói.
In the Middle Ages it involved great gatherings that included ceremonies, athletic contests (most notably the Tailteann Games which were extremely dangerous), horse racing, feasting, matchmaking & trading.
• With the coming of Christianity to the Celtic lands, the old festival of Lughnasadh took on Christian symbolism. Loaves of bread were baked from the first of the harvested grain & placed on the church altar on the first Sunday of August. The Christianized name for the feast of Lughnasadh is Lammas which means “loaf mass”.
Some believe this is the time where the God has weakened & is losing his strength as seen in the waning of the day's light. The Goddess is pregnant with the young God who will be born on Yule.

The Three Crown Bearers
More Crimson Angel Lore! This time thinking about some of the previous/current vessels.
(credit to @/waokevale for the inspo! Its from their posts head-cannoning Forneus as a former crown bearer where I got the idea to have her in the lineup!)
Over the course of 1000 years Narinder had in total 13 vessels who bore the red crown, and each were chosen upon their deaths for displaying potential upon arrival into the Gateway. Though the prophecy stated that a lamb would be the final bearer, Narinder did not want to sit idle, and had hoped that others could clear a quicker path for the chosen liberator while he waited.
Currently named bearers (featuring my SYMBOLISM obsession, deaths/numbers are somewhat related to the character as closely as I manage)
Tumblr media
Forneus - #7 (Lucky Seven)
The 7th bearer of the Red Crown, and bared it approximately 300 years ago. Captured by heretics after drawing their attention away from a family of fleeing lambs whilst on the road, Forneus caught Narinder’s attention for both her fighting prowess and fierce sense of justice, and proved to be one of his more efficient vessels. Quick-witted and clever, she was a seemingly kind leader to her cult, but a ruthless warrior to all others, with her mission being to decimate the Bishops’ higher-ranking witnesses as opposed to taking them on personally. She also appeared to possess a remarkable amount of luck, hardly ever dying whilst on crusades. Yet despite that her term as vessel only lasted approximately 80 years, whereupon finding herself pregnant via one of her lovers, she willingly relinquished the crown so that she could raise her children in peace, not wanting to put them at risk.
Narinder, though somewhat irked, accepted her choice, as she’d managed to kill enough witnesses to set the Bishops internal hierarchies back by several decades of experience. Unbeknownst to him, however, the very children Forneus relinquished the crown for would join him not long after, with the cat herself being bestowed a golden skull and an open promise of reunion with her children in the distant future by the God of Wisdom and War.
Forneus died of her heart-in saving those sheep, her heart was cut out during her sacrifice
***7 is considered a lucky number
Ratau- #12 (The Shepherd)
The 12th bearer of the Red Crown, and bared it approximately over 60 years ago. Killed by heretics after refusing to acknowledge the threat they posed to all within the Lands of the Old Faith. Hailing from a village that willfully ignored the lambs and their warnings of slaughter, it was not until heretics arrived to razed the place to the ground that Ratau realized their threat, yet by then it was too late to act as he was slain. Upon his arrival in the gateway Narinder initially had no plans to make him a vessel, yet the rat’s anger towards both himself and the Bishops appeared to make him an easily manipulated enough target to try. And with the dwindling lamb’s population heralding the final liberator’s rise, the death god was desperate to have a vessel prepared to take on the role of mentor.
Though a remarkably fast learner, Ratau proved inadequate in regards to his ruthlessness, unwilling to push his followers or himself to their limits. And upon being forced to sacrifice a follower following an incident with a mysterious fox, the resulting guilt led to Ratau relinquishing the crown within only a decade, much to Narinder’s frustration. He left the grounds with his disciples and isolated himself to a self-imposed solitude within the woods, only ever visiting his friends from time to time and trying to put his previous cult-life behind him.
Yet as fate would have it, twenty years later Ratau would chance across a young, newly orphaned lamb within the woods, and though aware of the prophesied fate ahead of them, decided to take the little one in. Fourteen years later, that little lamb would rise as the final vessel.
Ratau died for turning a blind eye to the world around him, and thus, lost his left eye in turn. It was a slash and a stab through which killed him
***12 is considered a number of stability and order, fitting for a mentor
Anthea- #13 (The Lamb/Unlucky Thirteen)
The 13th and final bearer of the Red Crown. Anthea was killed by heretics upon sacrificing herself to save the life of her guardian, Ratau, and had been a willing sacrifice due to a belief that she already lived on borrowed time. Of all prior vessels Anthea was the only one to have worshiped The One Who Waits prior to resurrection and vesselship, and proved to not only be highly devoted, but also far more empathetic and aware of his situation beyond those who came before them. When it came to their interactions with the god, Anthea often expressed a kindness to not just him but his typically overlooked disciples as well, bring them gifts and befriending the three to try and ease their imprisonments. Though coming from a genuine place of care, it was also born from Anthea’s own lack of self, with the lamb preferring to put everyone but themselves first.
It was through aiding The One Who Waits that Anthea’s perspective of self began to change, as Narinder slowly began to challenge their self-sacrificial tendencies the more he got to know them, with the two growing closer and eventually falling in love. Yet it was right before Anthea planned to confess her feelings that The One Who Waits seemingly betrayed them, ordering them to sacrifice themself just as they finally started wanting to live.
Anthea died for being unable to express their own will beyond giving themself up for others, sticking her neck out so long it mean someone else benefited from it. Their death was via beheading.
***13 is considered a number of bad luck, yet also of the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another, a transformation
Trying to go through and whip the game’s admittedly open-ended-ish/slightly vague lore into something more fleshed-out is really fun lol. Might make more vessels but thus far the only three who remain are 7, 12, and 13-which Narinder doesn't even realize that Forneus is till kicking about.
Also Weapons notes!
Tumblr media
Forneus gets a hammer because it in a way represents justice (see a court gavel) and though it hits slow it hits HARD. In an RPG its the tank who usually gets it within the party.
Ratau I gave a staff since he's implied to be somewhat cowardly, or at least appears to not like killing to an extent with how he gave up the crown after sacrificing a follower, and since he gives us the curses in-game (yeah they're on Nari's orders but Ratau's the one handing them out), essentially making him a mage seemed fitting-plus in fantasy the mage is usually a mentor. He also has a staff in-game so it maintains that silhouette, albeit I made this one look more like a shepherd's hook considering it's meant to be his weapon as a cult leader.
Anthea, the Lamb, I gave a sword since it's the weapon of a knight in shinning armor, their personality is that of someone always saving others after all.
And lastly a little doodle of everyone's death scars!
(Also if anyone wants to send asks about the AU or to the characters go ahead hehehe, this AU is taking over my life :3 )

In the AU of the leader Ando, what is the relationship between Ando and Narinder? (If he has forgiven him, of course) If he has forgiven him, do Narinder and the little lamb end up having a romantic relationship or not? And, what would be Ando's reaction upon seeing that his little brother likes the black cat?
I would like to start by saying that between Ando and Narinder, there was no forgiveness.
Tumblr media
Ando resented him enough to put aside his greatest wish (that of “resting in peace”), deciding from that moment on that now that he had his power, he would use it against him at all costs.
Also including the idea of allying himself with one of the bishops to finally ensure that The One Who Waits could never escape again. Unfortunately, he had no luck on that part.
The bishops only saw him as his pawn, the prophesied lamb, the monster that would kill them, and listened to nothing more.
So seeing that more than potential allies, they were obstacles, Ando decided to meet their expectations.
And he killed them.
After all that, Ando took the risk of facing Narinder on his own. Armed only with his thirst for justice, fervent wrath, and the power of the red crown, Ando fought to the death.
Over and over again.
Until almost destroying his soul.
As for Narinder, in his arrogance, he saw Ando as just “a little inconvenience” that he could get rid of later. When everything was done.
Although, in the end, the prophecy finally acted in favor of Ando, and in the face of his defeat, Narinder, enraged, challenged him to end his life if he wanted it so much.
And Ando did want to.
However…
Despite the hatred he had for him, Ando could not find enough willpower within himself to kill him.
No matter how much pain he had put him through, no matter how much hate he had made him accumulate, he couldn't do it. He couldn't face Death.
Nor the emptiness that would bring.
The rest is history.
Narinder became his follower, and Ando, in his inner tirade, could only question the true nature of that decision.
Without really reaching a conclusion.
Moving on to happier things...
The lamb, like Ando in the main AU, had no idea of the real reason why his species was hunted to the point of extinction.
So Ando, as his older brother, took it upon himself to quickly bring him up to date. Letting him know in every way possible about the role Narinder played during all that massacre and how much he would hate for him to take action against the lamb just for the simple fact of being his brother.
Pretty much warning the lamb to stay away from him.
A warning that, surprisingly, the lamb did hear.
Although with mixed results.
Tumblr media
After all, Ando still couldn't catch a break in this life. ¿Right? XD
¡Thanks for asking!

Narinder is the only sibling out of five who never reached godhood.
It made him angry and jealous, knowing that he would never be on the same level as his siblings and would never understand what it meant to be like them. That does not waver his love for his family. For thousands of years to follow, he is their most devoted disciple. He stays by their side, worshiping them and fighting for them. When the prophecy causes panic among his siblings, he does whatever he can to ease their minds, hoping everything will be okay.
But when he, the final cat, is unwillingly slain as the final sacrifice to secure his siblings' safety in godhood, he meets The Shepherd, who proposes the offer of a lifetime. The price is to kill his siblings, free them from their chains, and fulfill the prophecy that he died for.
“Yes.”
(An AU where the Lamb is The One Who Waits, and Narinder is chosen as their vessel.)
ITS OUTTT ITS OUT YAYYY sorry that it took 10298310238 years...
this chapter was really fun to write and i look forward to writing the rest of the darkwood arc!! ngl i wrote like half of this in one whole day, got bombarded by the responsibilities of life, and started writing more sporadically. hopefully i get fucked over a little less in the upcoming weeks
i hope that this is good enough of an opening so that you guys vaguely understand narinder's upbringing + just how he works here. it was so interesting to take this grumpy ass cat and try to place him in a position where he never really had power and was still just a follower (and was also not imprisoned for a thousand years so that he could grow saltier). i think it'd make him a lot more reserved, which is why he's so hopeless when it comes to actually trying to have nice conversations with people LOLL
anyways! hope u enjoy it !! whaahhaa

I dont know if it was intentional but I love that Narinder when he sees Lamb throwing up he turns gentle and pushes their wool and ears back so they dont get stained with vomit and for some reason it reminded me of how when Nari was throwing up too after the nightmare he had when they were on route to fight Leshy, Lambert helped him with camellias for the nausea.
Ahh, parallels. I think.
IM SO GLAD YOU POINTED THAT OUT allow me to ramble for just a moment.
Narinder was trapped in the Afterlife for over 1000 years, with little social skills and plagued by wishing for vengeance and his only company being two kittens who become disciples under his rule. He has terrible social skills, if not lacking them entirely.
(I would argue that Aym and Baal also have horrific nonexistent social skills, so those three cat's can't really help each other communicate properly to anyone else outside themselves.)
It can be argued that since The One Who Waits had other vessels to pass time and try to kill /annoy his siblings before the prophesized Lamb arrival, that he would have developed them a little bit more, but I would argue that the power balance would have been oodles more severe since the vessels weren't the promised one. He didn't need them, so if they no longer were of service or disobeyed him, he got rid of them. Whether just sending them out or killing them, any how.
Lamb, however, knows they are the last Lamb, the prophesized liberator of The One Who Waits, and therefore his only option. They knew that they were his only reasonable way out of there (whether they asked for it or not) so they were oodles more comfortable than how a professional relationship would have been.
So they asked questions, bothered him, played and ran around him. Complained and vented to him. Yapped and yapped. What is he gonna do? Kill them? Find a new vessel? He can't. "You're as trapped into this prophecy as much as I am, so let's be friends"
Example parts from Chapter 3:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The power balance equalizes because Lamb did not see his presence a God, but rather a fellow prisoner and victim of fate. Rude and demanding, but in the same chains as they were. 'My lord' was simply formalities at first.
This puts Narinder / The One Who Waits in social situations he hasn't been in (or hardly been in) in over a thousand years, and frankly, he had no idea how to navigate them:
Example from Chapter 5:
Tumblr media
The God of Death has not needed to comfort or 'be there' for someone in a long, long time. The Lamb's presence is what forces him to try, even if his first attempt aren't perfect. So in that same chapter, he'll ask them a question to distract them. Conversation. Like how they do it.
Tumblr media
While I won't post a screenshot of everytime this happens in written format (not including the dreams/memories/flashbacks that haven't been posted yet)-
The One Who Waits is pushed outside of his bubble when it comes to socializing in a way that isn't just 'God-to-Lowly-Vessal' format. He has to talk to them like a person, because he's being talked to like a person, not a god on a pedestal.
Obviously after the final battle and betrayal (to both of them, otherwise known as the Grand Miscommunication) this means nothing for a while as tempers are still high and feelings are hurt. But overtime, this returns, and can show in small ways (ways that may not seem like comfort but is certainly an attempt) like just in Chapter 18:
Trying to bring them an 'offering' (breakfast) mirroring other times the Lamb has done the same for him:
Tumblr media
Crudely offering to replace something they are upset at losing/later offering reassurance abet in a curt way:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what you mentioned: earlier when the Lamb is throwing up, narration shows they're having trouble with keeping their wool, cloak, bell, ect all back at the same time. He can see that. He has a mental boiling pot explosion over the fact that helping them is even a want that he has after the denial crisis he's experiencing where the only answer a minute ago seemed like he needed to kill them, and he chose comfort.
It is intentional. Narinder is learning how to show care, and allowing himself to show care. Slowly, and not perfect, but learning.

Character Analysis: Narinder (The One Who Waits) Part 2
Part 1 Here!!
Alrighty, let's start!! Last time we left it at the begininng of Narinder's jealosy towards his brothers, and the affections the mortals gave them while he received fear and hatred from the mortals.
But before turning on his brothers, he tried to do something about this. He thought "Why do mortals fear me?" The answer was easy. He was the personification of dead. Judge of the souls, the reaper themselves. Of course they would be terrified of Narinder!
So, the curse of action was obvios. What if he wasn't just the God of Death? After all, it was fair! Their brothers weren't the gods of just 1 and 1 thing alone! Shamura was war and knowledge. Kallamar was pestilence and health. Heket was famine and harvest. Leshy is order and chaos.
So why couldn't he be the God of Death AND LIFE at the same time as well?
Of course, Narinder didn't knew about how to create living creatures, not even about the magics that went on the creation of a soul. But he would figure somehow.
It is said that Shamura nurtered this ambition of his. Without truly knowing Narinder's intentions, maybe Shamura knew the God of Death wasn't well received so they wanted to support Narinder as good as they could.

Dialogs of Shamura right here.
Narinder was so close to figuring out the secrets of life, and he manages to created ressurection! Finally, after millenia! He would no longer be just the boogey-man of the mortals folkclore!
No longer feared, but loves just the same as the rest of his siblings as the god of Death AND LIFE. No longer he who lays a soul to rest. But also, he who reaweakens a soul anew.
And for this, for trying to go against the natural order, the bishops had to stop him. Of course, at the time Narinder couldn't understand the gravity of what he was trying to achive, he was just so full of ambition and desire.
So he felt so enraged when his siblings denied him. Weren't they supposed to be different from the brainless gods that slaughtered themselves during the purge? Weren't they supposed to be brothers in arms? That there was nothing they couldn't understand?
It seemed like it wasn't that way. And so, the bishop of Death saw red that day, causing the wounds in our bishops that they still hold to this day.
I like to think Narinder felt some guilt from this. But he never admitted it. Specially not after what happened later.
Chained, trapped into the deeps of the underworld, unable to leave for eternity. How could they? They were his brothers, his family, his only home. The only ones he trusted with his life and they dis this?!
Once again, shunned away, hated, feared, left alone to rot forevermore. The tittle of god meant nothing, for nothing had changed from the time he was a mortal.
The only mercy he was given was the company of the two kittens, Baal and Aym.
I like to make a parenthesis for them. Even after Narinder tells us he does not cares of them i believe he's just being a huge tsundere. The kits talk so higly of Narinder that its difficult to imagine they didn't form some kind of bond over the centuries.

I know he does cares but of course, he loved his siblings and look how they repaid him? He would never be found showing love and appreciation over anyother, ever again...
At least he thought so...
The Lamb
A prophecy of a liberator, the most loyal of the followers of dead.
At this point Narinder knows better than to let himself form a bond with his vessel, its supposes to be just bussiness but...
It has been ages since he had devotion poured into him. And the Lamb, he's so different. No fear or hatred, no prayers to keep him away, but true love. The kind of love the followers of their brother gave them, instead of that rancid fear and horror disguised a respect he used to get.
That's why it comes as such a surprise to our cat that the Lamb refused to be sacrificed. They were their most loyal, weren't they?!?! Once again met by betrayal?!?
It seems Narinder has a tendency to see only his way, tho. Of course the Lamb has all the right to feel equally if not even more offended by Narinder's word.
I would give him, that it seems flesh sacrifices were the norm and that it was a way to show devotion. Judging for the scenes where the bishops get powered up by their willing followers. Narinder thought this natural, without taking into account if the Lamb was or not okey with it
(And that depends on the type of gameplay of each one. Personally, i hate doing sacrifices, so i headcannon my lamb as the same).
But this is about Narinder and how he felt when he thought was, once again, betrayed. The heart of the bishop of death cannot get a fucking rest.
After his defeat, might as well die. Why keep living this life that has done nothing more but to stab him in the back and front over and over again? And what's worse, he's not even a god anymore...
And then... The lamb spares him.
And the the Lamb gives him a second chance. And the Lamb takes care of him, and shows him a new life, and shows him things CAN be different, and the Lamb keeps him safe.
(And depending on the gameplay you choose, the Lamb even loves him, shows still devotion. And the feelings are complicated. The lamb betrayed them but... They still... Love him?)
And it's all so weird. So many conflicting emotions over millenia. But at last... He is free. And he has all the time in the world to figure out his place in this new world.

And that's all!! Hope you liked this analysis. I just needed to take it all out of my system haha (HYPERFIXIATES TOO MUCH ON NARINDER HELP)
The cow now leaves. Bye!!
(Not going to talk about finals where the lamb kills him or keeps him alive to put him in the pillory forever because they make me sad 😔)
