If she chose to protect Charlie's dream, she would still be perfectly loyal to her but in the act of so would reveal a secret that could harm their relationship(which does happen at the end but that's because the plot wanted it like that). If she chose to side with Adam, she'd be hurting Charlie emotionally, sure, but it would keep a secret that could make Charlie see Vaggie less than who she is to her already(atleast what Vaggie might think would happen). Imo it should've been her deciding to protect Charlie, since it would mean she's devoted to her at all times.

ANOTHER THING! IF SHE COULDN'T MAKE THE CHOICE, THAT IS SOMETHING INTERESTING TO GO INTO. Maybe it could go deeper into how Vaggie doesn't know who she is without Charlie. For pride month (aka my gay Christmas where homosexuals are more homosexual and homophobics are more homophobic) I wanted to show more of Alouqua and at the same time reveal her orientation: Alouqua is a polyamorous lesbian and is in a relationship with 3 girls who are the shown in the drawing.

Alouqua does not have a specific type, but I would say that she is attracted to strong wills, determination and people who wear their hearts on their sleeves. In general, all of her partners have these characteristics in their personalities.

Now I will talk about them:

Christa is a woman with an assertive and dominant personality, along with Aloqua she is the toughest of all and does not let anyone mess with her or her girls, however despite her tough exterior she can be friendly and understanding, she is protective with those she loves and is usually a respectable and authoritative figure for the exorcists.

Christa died as a victim of a serial killer who psychologically tortured her before killing her. After her death she joined the exorcists to take revenge on the guy who took her life. Let's say it was her determination and sense of justice that attracted Alouqua. (who was the one who trained her to be able to carry out her revenge).

Christa is a lover of history, she is a nerd in that aspect and she is not ashamed of it at all, she likes to say curious facts out of nowhere to break the ice and she is also a fan of extreme sports, her favorite is roller derby and climbing.

Atarah is a gentle giant in every way, she is not usually very violent outside of work and is not very expressive, but she has a gentle, patient and motherly personality with the other winners, especially the children (of the 4 she is the best handles the children), however if you press her buttons enough she will show why she is considered a great addition to the exorcists, although she tends to prefer quick kills.

She died protecting her little brothers in a gang war, she sacrificed herself so that they could live even when there was little time left for her to graduate from the police academy, due to this protective instinct she quickly earned the respect of the other winners despite to be so meek (among them Alouqua who was super moved), she also joined the exorcists so she could protect the winners from sinners and other threats.

Atarah is a plant mom and usually prefers to do jobs related to agriculture because she grew up in the countryside before moving to the big city with her family. She also really enjoys crafts such as origami and carpentry.

Adina is a super joyfull, bubbly and kind girl, she loves to look pretty and considers presentation to be important, however she is not so kind in her job and is usually very sadistic towards sinners and her abilities should not be underestimated because of her pretty face, she does not tolerate any type of insult and she returns it twice as hurtful.

In life she was someone with eating problems because her mother gave her many insecurities while she was growing up and forced her to participate in beauty contests. She always suffered from people who treated her as superficial and hollow for being the way she was and many made fun of her eating disorder instead of helping her, which ended with her death from starvation.

She loves collecting cute and aestethic things, Like accesories, illustrations, charms, and sometimes plushies! She is also a rock stand and likes to do duets with alouqua or simply sing with the other girls(she is a girls girl ✨️).

Her reason for becoming an exorcist is to be taken seriously and not be seen as foolish or helpless. She enjoys causing fear in sinners and making them suffer before killing them. She can be mocking with them and treat them like mice being chased by a cat.

I can imagine that when Vaggie was still an exorcist Alouqua and her girlfriends were attracted to her, after all Vaggie has everything she likes in a woman and her partners agreed (if they weren't she wouldn't even bother looking at Vaggie) She offered her to be part of the polycle, however Vaggie was unable to answer before being dragged by Lute to the extermination of that year, she did not see her again until she sees her with the princess of hell in heaven...

Alouqua still flirts with Vaggie along with Christa, Adina and Atarah, since they are willing to listen to her side of the story (because let's face it, that kid is probably in hell for being a hellborn and not for being a sinner) and as a bonus she manages to annoy charlie by showing that she is a better girlfriend candidate than her (in my opinion vaggie deserves better than charlie)

atarah es una gigante gentil en todo sentido, ella no suele ser muy violenta fuera del trabajo y no es muy expresiva, pero tiene una personalidad gentil, paciente y maternal con los demas winners, especialmente los niños(de las 4 ella es la que mejor maneja los niños), sin embargo si presionas sus botones lo suficiente ella mostrara porque es considerada una gran adicion a los exorcistas, aunque ella suele preferir muertes rapidas.

atarah es una plant mom y suele preferir hacer trabajos relacionados a la agricultura debido a que crecio en el campo antes de mudarse a la gran cuidad con su familia. ella tambien disfruta mucho de las manualidades como el origami y la carpinteria.

adina es una chica super alegre, burbujeante y amable, ella ama verse bonita y considera que la presentacion es importante, sin embargo ella no es tan amable en su trabajo y suele ser muy sadica con los pecadores y no se debe subestimar sus capacidades por su cara bonita, ella no tolera ningun tipo de insulto y ella los devuelve el doble de hirientes.

en vida ella fue alguien con problemas alimenticios debido a que su madre le metio muchas inseguridades mientras crecia y la obligaba a participar en concursos de belleza, ella siempre sufrio de gente que la trataba de superficial y hueca por ser como era y muchos se burlaban de su trastorno alimenticio en vez de ayudarla, lo que termino con su muerte por inanición.

Kill the Whale

Long ramble, so buckle in:

I did not like Kill the Whale. Let's start this off being very clear on that. I went in knowing nothing, and I was fully prepared to love it. I love Amber Gray, I love Grace McLean, I love weird avante garde art. This was... I did not like what was presented to me. As a song cycle, a series of solo character introductory songs that don't do much to serve the plot is certainly a choice. The performers are all vocal powerhouses, that's undeniable. And with genres like rap, hip-hop, and lots of rock & roll, I understand why every song was screltched to the high heavens. But it was borderline painful to listen to as the night wore on, partially owing to the inconsistent sound mixing and inappropriate acoustics of Joe's Pub, but mostly it's the writing. The seven(?)-person band overpowered the vocalists on any lines not belted, and the belting pitched out more than once. Would it kill some of the singers to hold the microphone a little further back when going for it? And why do contemporary songwriters all want their performers to blow out their vocal chords every night? Everyone was full throttle the whole time, and it left little room for growth or breath.

The song cycle does remarkably little to evoke more than just head-bopping beats, as if the story inspiration is only really a mood setter and not integral to any plot or story trying to be told. There are almost no duets or indeed, characters singing with each other at all. The final Chase sequence (three parts) is really just like ten parts of individual solos with different genres and beats. There's little to really tie these songs together beyond a vague association with Moby Dick. The lyrics too are more about feelings and moods than about crafting a story. Should this ever become a piece of musical theatre, I don't think it would work as presented. It was also a 100-minute show and they had to cut songs for time, so that's...long. More than half is just one character intro song after another, and they're not so much as "I Want" or "I Am" songs, so much as "here's what I'm thinking about, you don't know me, or care yet, but here I am just ruminating about life," and that's tiresome after the sixth one in a row.

Also, one character is heavily influenced by rap and hip-hop and uses a lot of AAVE in his songs. The writer is a white man. I...wonder who or what he might have worked with to craft these numbers. I also wonder why this writer wanted to write a character whose songs speak so deeply about contemporary Black struggle and oppression. Because while the body emulating this on stage is Black, the words are from a white creator who is only ever imagining what that experience is.

That being said, I'm a lesbian, and Grace McLean (though even she screlted too much for me in the end) being hot and sexy and aggressive was great. Didn't save the night, but great nonetheless.

Verdict: A Long Slog to Curtains

A Note on Ratings

Had the show only been an hour-long sampling of songs, I'd have been more positive. But this was too long to listen to the same thing time after time. As an album where I can control whether or not I want my eardrums to hurt (I was at the back of Joe's Pub, so I can't imagine how the people up front fared), maybe I'd like it more? It's not my taste, at the end of the day, and I'm sure there are many people who love it. Pass.

CAMPFIRE SCENE - Definitive Edition

I already made some posts in the past listing curiosities or differences involving the “campfire scene” between Elsa and Honeymaren, but since I hadn't made a post yet gathering everything in one place and we are in Lesbian Visibility Week, I decided to do it.

THE ORIGINAL CAMPFIRE SCENE THAT WAS FEATURED IN THE MOVIE “FROZEN 2″

(the original text is from the Novelization, but I adapted it to match 100% with the movie)

 Honeymaren and Elsa are sitting by a fire, a baby reindeer is lying next to Elsa getting a cuddle, Iduna's scarf is draped over Elsa's thighs. Honeymaren just tasted the soup from the wooden bowl.  “I want to show you something. May I?” Honeymaren asked. Elsa nodded. Honeymaren reached for one end of the beautiful burgundy scarf that had belonged to Elsa’s mother and gesture to the snowflakes on it. She identified the symbols on the points of one snowflake. “You know air, fire, water, earth.”  “Yes,” Elsa said. “But look.” Honeymaren touched a diamond in the center of the snowflake, a symbol Elsa had never noticed before. “There’s a fifth spirit.” Honeymaren smiled at the surprised expression on Elsa’s face. “Said to be a bridge between us and the magic of nature.”  Elsa was shocked. “A fifth spirit?”  “Some say they head it call out the day the forest fell,” Honeymaren said. She had Elsas full attention.  “My father heard it,” said Elsa. “Do you think that’s who’s calling me?” Elsa asked.  “Maybe.” Honeymaren smiled. “Alas, only Ahtohallan knows”.  Elsa smiled back, recalling that her mother had said the same thing to Anna and herself when they were children. “Ahtohallan-” With the scarf over her thighs, Elsa remembered the words of her mother's lullaby that she had sung to her and Anna when they were little. She half sang and half spoke the words aloud.

                                              “Dive down deep

                                                into her song”

 Honeymaren smiled again, recognizing the song and singing along with Elsa.

                                              “But not too far

                                           or you’ll be downed”

 “Why do lullabies always have to have some terrible warning in them?” Honeymaren asked once they had finished.

 “I wonder that all the time,” Elsa said.

 Suddenly, the ground shook from a distant boom like thunder. But no lightning followed to electrify the sky.

 “Earth Giants,” Honeymaren said.

CAMPFIRE SCENE WAS ALSO ONE OF THE MOMENTS THAT HAD CUTS

The “campfire scene” for anyone who watched the “Frozen 2” documentary or saw this tweet knows that it was one of the moments in the film that were changed.

And that at least three shots were cut.

We don't have confirmation of what they were and honestly I don't even believe that one day we will, and although I like fanfics imagining they were important I believe in the justifications given in the documentary for the cuts in the film: making the plot more dynamic for all audiences although I don't know how some phrases could be considered non-dynamic, but whatever.

VARIATION OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 1 - Novelization

The official book of the film states that this scene has only 3 differences: it does not specify in the book if Honeymaren was eating the soup or not, the position of the scarf in the book is on the shoulders while in the film it is on the thighs (this change in the position of the scarf happens almost everywhere from the movie to the books), and there are no lyrics for the duet though it does happen.

 Honeymaren and Elsa walked over to the logs around a campfire and sat down. A baby reindeer ran up, nuzzling and rubbing its head on them. Elsa stroked the little reindeer’s back as she thought about everything that had happened since they’d entered the forest.

 “I want to show you something. May I?” Honeymaren asked. Elsa nodded. Honeymaren reached for one end of the beautiful burgundy scarf that had belonged to Elsa’s mother and gesture to the snowflakes on it. She identified the symbols on the points of one snowflake. “You know air, fire, water, earth.”

 “Yes,” Elsa said.

VARIATION OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 2 - The Enchanted Forest

Although small this book is one of the most interesting versions of the film having several differences or additions to the plot of “Frozen 2″ and obviously the “campfire scene” is one of those moments. Could those extra phrases shared between Elsa and Honeymaren be among the cut moments? Well, this book could be an early script for the movie, but anyway, I don't logically believe that it would be every moment for the descriptions.

 Anna smile she glanced up when Elsa walked by talking with Honeymaren.

 The campfire cracked and pop as Honeymaren and Elsa sat here it’s warm glow.

 “Tell me about the voice.” Honeymaren said as she petted a baby reindeer that had wandered over looking for attention. “What makes you so sure they have the answers?”

 “Because they speak to a part of me that no one’s ever been able to reach,” Elsa resonded, holding her hand out for the reindeer to sniff.

 Honeymaren looked intrigued. “What part is that?” she asked.

 “The part of me that’s magic,” Elsa said.

 Honeymaren throught for a moment, “I want to show you something. May I?”

 The queen nodded. Honeymaren showed her a part of her mother's scarf. She pointed to the snowflakes that adorned it. She showed Elsa the symbols on the flakes.

 “You know air, fire, water, earth,” observed Honeymaren, then pointed to the diamond in the center that connected them all.  “But look. There’s a fifth spirit. Said to be a bridge between us and the magic of nature.”

 “A fifth spirit?” Elsa asked, intrigued.

“Some say they head it call out the day the forest fell”.

The queen's eyes sparkled.

“Do you think that’s who’s calling me?”

“Maybe. Alas, only Ahtohallan knows”.

 “Ahtohallan”, Elsa repeated with a smile. She remembered her mother saying the same thing when she and her sister were children, asking a thousand questions: Only Ahtohallan knows.

 When she put them to sleep at night, Anna and Elsa's mother would sing them a lullaby about Ahtohallan. It was about a mysterious river that had all the answers about the past.

 As a child, Elsa wanted to find the river and ask questions. For as long as she could remember, she wanted to learn more about herself and her magic. Why does she have powers? Were there others like her? And if so, would Ahtohallan know them? At that moment, in front of the bonfire, she realized that... it was strange, but being in the Enchanted Forest made her think that she would soon get some of the answers she so desired.

 She brought the scarf up to her chest and squeezed it tight. She could almost hear her mother's lullaby. She started to sing and Honeymaren joined in with a smile. The Northuldra woman was surprised that Elsa knew the melody.

 “Why do lullabies always have to have some terrible warning in them?” Honeymaren asked.

 “I wonder that all the time,” admitted Elsa with a giggle.

 Suddenly, a BOOM was heard in the distance which interrupted their laughter and caused the queen to shudder.

“What was this?” Elsa asked.

 BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The ground under everyone's feet began to shake violently with each bang.

Honeymaren paled, she rose quickly and said:

“Earth Giants”.

REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 2 - Manga

The differences with the manga are one of the most interesting for including a feeling in the scene that the original didn't explicitly have.

Arina Tanemura at various points in this manga included or expanded on the feelings of certain scenes. That's not to say it didn't exist in the original, Elsa very well could have those feelings at the beginning of the duet with "All is Found", but the film prefers to express a more fun and joking feeling that happens at the end of the lyrics as the manga addresses the feelings that are at the beginning. But as I said Arina Tanemura really liked to make the moments more sentimental like Elsa at the end giving a sign to Honeymaren and Ryder that in the manga it really seems that Honeymaren has an expression of being in love or at least enchanted with the Snow Queen.

REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 3 - Descriptions

There are at least four descriptions that I know of the “campfire scene” where they put the image and some text. The fourth description is not included here, the only difference being that it refers to Honeymaren only as "Northuldra woman".

Elsa and Honeymaren become friends. They talk about the spirits.

At the campfire, Honeymaren showed Elsa the spirits of nature symbolized on her mother’s scarf. Elsa was surprised to learn about a fifth spirit called the bridge. It was said to connect the magic of nature to humans and it disappeared when people stopped listening.

A young Northuldra woman named Honeymaren showed Elsa the spirits of nature on Elsa’s mother’s scarf. Elsa was surprised to discover there was a fifth spirit: ‘the bridge’. It was said to connect the magic of nature to humans, but it had disappeared when people stopped listening.

REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 4 - Toys

And the “campfire scene” was technically split into two parts: "Forest Expedition" which has Honeymaren and "Campfire Friend" which has everything else in the Campfire Scene including another Elsa. So if you recreate this scene you have to buy two sets instead of one.

REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 5 - Frozen 2 as told by Emoji Disney

There is no “campfire scene”, as this is one of the skipped moments and after the conversation with Yelana already placing the Earth Giants moment. But I include more here to show this adaptation of the visual, and that at the end they put together “You Belong Up Here” with the moment of Elsa riding the Nokk and waving to the Nattura brothers.

BONUS 1 - The Campfire Scene Prologue

This is completely speculative, but this theory makes so much sense to me that I can't help but talk about it.

I believe this concept art by Jim Kim is also part of the “campfire scene”, or as theorized in a fanfic, is the reason for it to happen. But this is purely theory as there is other concept art imagining moments of interactions between the Arendelle delegation and the Northuldras that are more difficult to fit into the passage of time. But of all the post-Bruni conversations, Elsa and Honeymaren's campfire conversation is the only one that doesn't actually have a prior introduction or reason for happening. You can even mention that Honeymaren talked about the scarf and that was the motivation, but to be honest the reason the women approach doesn't seem to have anything to do with the scarf, the conversation about the scarf happened on Honeymaren's idea. If Elsa wanted information about the Northuldras, Iduna or the scarf she probably would have gone to talk to Yelana, but in the movie she seems to have only decided to sit down with Honeymaren because she wanted to talk to her alone and the conversation about the scarf happened by accident, if Anna had gotten scarf the conversation about Fifth Spirt would not have happened and the two women would have just talked about other things.

Now, the reason why my theory about concept art is the connection point: Honeymaren is officially called a big fan of magic due to having some knowledge on the subject, so in my opinion, she asked Elsa to show a little bit of her magic and the Snow Queen, seeing how enthralled she was by it (Jim Kim's concept art) decided to go sit down with her to have a private conversation, whether or not it was about magic. I'm a self-confessed ElsaMaren shipper, but I can't help thinking that there must have been one more reason why a serious and focused person like Elsa decided to talk to Honeymaren instead of the tribe leader who was the person she was talking to earlier and who probably has a lot more knowledge.

BONUS 2 – The Campfire Scene was maybe recreated in “Raya and the Last Dragon”

It may or may not be a coincidence, but:

Two girls sitting close together with something between them

A meal near them

A pet close to women

Their conversation involves interacting with items that have stories related to the plot of the movie.

And if you want to consider this too: there are many similar camera angles with Namaari playing Honeymaren and Raya playing Elsa

The only big difference is that there isn't a duet moment between the girls, but even the pace of the conversation is pretty similar with the more relaxed air. Peter Del Vecho and Kim Hazel herself, who was responsible for the “campfire scene”, also worked on this film, so this theory of inspiration being confirmed would be no surprise.

I don't even know what this is but I'm a gay nerd so !!! Some random thoughts that have been festering in my brain about Stella Spotlight's queerness:

So we all know how queercoded this whole show is, but my fav example of this is Stella and I don't see enough people talking about it !

Especially in the 2022 version but she always had this evelyn hugo vibe anyways !

Her story with Zéro Janvier is clearly devoid of any romantic interest on either part. Like sure, Ego Trip has some lyrics that imply feelings between them but each of these lyrics actually focuses more on loving themselves. Let's take a closer look: "Moi je suis avec toi parce que tu me fais du bien/toi tu te sers de moi pour arriver à tes fins" (btw the parallel between this and Johnny/Sadia !!!) is the whole message of the song: they're in that relationship for purely selfish reasons and there's no sign of affection at any point. "Un regard de toi me fait monter aux nues" is clearly about Zéro using Stella's fame to gain popularity, and even the proposal is staged as him wanting to gain possession over her (thus reinforcing the "golden cage" that's a leitmotiv with Stella's character).

I've seen people interpreting Zéro as queer too and him needing a wife to pursue his career because of homophobia or whatever. Idk if I support this theory because there are already 2 canon and out queer characters and their queerness doesn't seem like an actual issue in Monopolis, but I looove the idea of Zéro and Stella as a beard couple.

The same idea could apply to Stella: on top of her getting "old", she needs to maintain her image of purity and tradition ("symbole de la race blanche/de nos valeurs, et de nos libertés" implies she's already a right-wing symbol??)

Warrior Nun band AU. Is Lilith the drummer or nah?

OHOHHO love band aus. but it does depend on what instruments u think a band should have like. how many guitars, is there a piano/keys? drums, like u said. tbh, i dont see lilith as a drummer, but the vibes are there. the sound, the power of it, she likes drums but!!! what she LOVES is making some crazy eletric guitar riffs. now THATS what she likes. its intricate, but superrr intense. also, women + guitar = super hot.

might be an unpopular opinion but!!! camila as the drummer. i find the concept of such a tiny adorable sweet girl going absolutely HAM on a drum set. like. crazy levels ham. something possesses her when she plays, its an entirely different person. she, ofc, also does vocals, n in calmer songs where a drummer isnt necessary, camila takes the stage with her beautiful voice. she's very versatile in that way.

we could go the classic route n say "beatrice plays the keys/piano cuz its more refined n classic n calm etc." but i want her also on a guitar. i want beatrice n lilith guitar duo. they go crazy, they go ham, they work rly well together since they have such different vibes n different ways of playing the same instrument, it creates a great contrast on stage. but she also plays keys if its necessary. she did learn guitar after the piano as a rebellious act

mary is bass, ofc. its just so her. shes the backbone of the band, the bass is soooo important but often overlooked almost?? ppl focus more on the guitar or the vocalist, but the bass is what pulls it all together. also: woman + bass = hot as fuck. so. she also does vocals. her voice is deliciously raspy. definitely the sexual awakening of many girls, let's just say that

i feel like ava needs a weird instrument. she does vocals, sure, but she also plays that weird. keys thing. thats kinda like a guitar n a piano mixed. ava is the wildcard of the band cuz u know that girl has some crazy instrument with her. you that lil guy that does weird sounds? that has a lil face?? ava brings that to the stage.

now u might be wondering: who's the main vocalist?? well. as a lesbian with mommy issues, i just had to do it, yknow, i just had to do it. mother superion is the main vocalist (ava n her switch it up or even duet every once in a while, but mother superion does most of the songs main vocals). can u imagine how sick it is to have the singer have the artist name "mother superion"???? like HELLO??? n then u also have ava with "warrior nun"??? COOL AS FUCK??? they're the IT girls, they're iconic, they work so well together. n also superion does play the keys, she officially plays the keys.
