Favorite Regular Spirit - Tearful Light Miner

The spirit that made my go "oh... OH. oh nooooooo..." as a moth.

Literally the last one to die out of the group omg... AND WE NEVER SEE THE OTHERS OF THEIR MINING GROUP AGAIN SO THEY PROBABLY THE ONLY ONE THAT BECAME A SPIRIT.

They need a hug fr.

First hair I ever bought was from them.

I drew them staring at their own husk when you relive their spirit because pain man.

Favorite Elders - Wasteland and Vault

I don't actually have much thoughts on the elders but always kinda liked both of them.

Favorite Seasonal Spirit - Cackling Cannoneer

Words CANNOT describe the unfathomable level of brain rot I have for them... like if I do talk about them this post... that will obliterate and overshadow the rest of the stuff here. Which is not the point!!!! It's a freaking iceberg, and I'm going to have to contain my thoughts like the scp it is.💀

Favorite Creatures:

Instead of an "other" category I wanted to do some much needed favorite creature appreciation, because they make the game feel more alive and sky without creatures would be even more depressing.

1. The Abyss Monster (Thousand Eyes)

Best creature 1000 out of 10

Very chill. They are just swimming there... menacingly!

For something so big it's relatively quiet unless it roars or something has it's attention.

I like that we free them from being trapped in a cramped tank... must have sucked for them. And what could go wrong? Ignore last abyss quest lol. I'm sure cannoneer will be back from the grocery store anytime now.

I like calling them thousand eyes because that "name" kinda just stuck for me ( Also ,unrelated, totally forgot that a person who worked on the music for signalis is called 1000 eyes so that was kinda funny to me... also I love signalis).

They don't actually have 1000 eyes. It's something more along the lines of 29 with 22 missing eyes (I figured that out by comparing images).

Granted, in AU I'm working on they have an ability where the name makes more sense.

I feel like almost everyone calls it something different anyway.

Face wise, reminds me of a moray. I really like morays. :]

2. Eel

Fun to follow around

The treasure reef one saved me from drowning a few times.

A very unique light creature. Like, the only other light creature I can think of thats kinda similar is the whales with their more stoney masks and how they spin while swimming/flying.

It's noises can be startling if you are not expecting them but I find them quite comforting and probably have some of my favorite animal noises in game. I just wished we had an eel call. I think it would sound pretty.

Has 4 eyes which is unique to them.

I like to call the treasure reef one Velma or Vel... don't have a name for the prairie peaks days of bloom one yet as I cannot choose. I got a list of potential names.

A friend pointed out they kinda look like a leek and I can't unsee it.

3. Krill Cat

CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT

I love how the Cackling Crab one purrs

Mine still my favorite though. They keep me company.

Also I love being thrown into outer space... or playing golf using my skykid as a ball and the cat as the golf club to fling me around... also very useful for building cannons.

4. Krill (Dark Dragons)

I used to be terrified of them. (Had a group of vets lure one at me when I first went into wasteland as a moth)

Broke my fear of krill by watching them from a distance and figured out they are quite predictable pathing wise and to watch out if a server switch happens because it messes with certain ones' pathing more than others... If you wonder why a krill suddenly contorts weird or suddenly makes an unexpected turn that's why.

I but I also enjoy watching them because they have some of the most interesting animations in game.

"Brutally elegant" is the best way to describe how I see them.

They might be partially made out of a sandy, clumpy, almost liquidy type material that isn't completely stable... Ask if you want me to elaborate.

5. Dark lurker (worm)

10/10 creature.

I think they are cute.

I appreciate that they don't drain all my life immediately.

Reminds me of how a dog behaves with a new chew toy.

Feel like they would enjoy eating a sandwich.

Once it snagged a thief that stole my boat! Good worm!

6. Crabs

WHO DOESN'T LIKE CRABS?

They are some of the most interactive creatures in sky.

Leave the friendly ones alone if you value your life. You wanna get me mad? Honk friendly crabs. I will drag you to an early grave you thoughtless monster! And if I didn't do anything immediately to show my anger watch your back... I'm plotting your demise.

7. Knife Fish

KILLER FISH. KILLER FISH FROM SAN DIEGOOOOOO!!!

I have a running gag of using them as actual knives.

Very Very easy to draw.

Noises are pleasant.

Also have saved me from drowning.

8. Butterflies

I sometimes scorn them but most of the time they are quite helpful during candle runs which makes up for it. I remember when they didn't come out of dark plants which made wasteland more treacherous.

Love the new dyeing feature and that butterflies come in multiple colors now... but I still have a fondness for the classic yellow ones.

1. Treasure Reef

Love how the music changes depending on where you are in the map.

It's looks are deceiving... >:)

It's Thousand Eyes and treasure reef eels home.

FISH and other creatures there are nice too.

Rip the manta spirit that gave us the ability to go underwater. You are my favorite Manta.

Abyss crews boat

Gorgeous underwater areas.

I LOVE IT WHEN WE GET TO SEE THE GIANT RAINBOW HERE IT'S SO RARE.

The LORE there I have taken quite an interest in.

Great to run if bored of typical candle run.

Level design wise, I think it's one of the better seasonal areas.

It has a big shared space that's partially underwater.

Tower interior OOB is a fav of mine to hide in. But also kinda sucks that it got scrapped for a quest.

Enough is left open for the brain to go crazy speculating and imagining underwater areas there that aren't canon.

I like that place is long abandoned mostly submerged lab, light house, mines, and to some extent a prison... like come on great setting!!!

More than likely there was some really shady shit some ancestors did there.

Is the area that made me question the use of spirit barriers, and how powerful they are because of the ones used in Thousands Eye's and the flock of mantas containments... it makes all the other spirit barriers in game look sus to me now.

It also reminds me of old adventure games and "point and clicks" setting wise like the Monkey Island series, a little bit of Grim Fandango and Freddi Fish games... in other words kinda hits a nostalgic spot in me I didn't know I had.

Has a mysterious invisible object you can pick up that makes a weird sound effect. (It's Probably just a random asset someone at TGC forgot to move).

I like making evil swimming races there for myself and friends if they dare. >:] (Mainly for myself though, ha)

In general great place to chill - like to float around afk on my boat or play music or build stuff.

I got lots of fond memories there.

2. The Archives

I like the dilapidated flooded liminal hallway vibes

I always felt like it should go somewhere else, but the fact it loops is neat and adds to the vault's weird nonsensical architecture nature.

Crabs in vault? That feels rare.

I think the lanterns and spinning platforms are neat.

3. The Last Lamp Before Death in Eden

I just like playing the Through the Eyes of a Child music sheet before going off to die and like to think it brings good luck to others on the map... or comfort them. Makes me happy when people join in or take a moment to listen.

4. Forest Brook

Pretty much end up going past here every day for event runs route I do.

It Has a nice flow to it compared to other maps for running and it's not too big.

Because the plants don't rotate, they are easier to memorize.

I swear it's one of the maps with the most wax.

Fond memories here with friends and as a moth

I love the secret rainbow there.

Waltzing in the Rain is definitely a iconic and beautiful music track.

Plenty of places the hide and listen to the rain.

There is the manta friend that leads moths through forest.

Often is people's first encounter with crabs... Definitely was mine. XD

5. Wasteland Graveyard

CATAPULT

Spent alot of time watching krill here to get over my initial fear of them.

I have both fondness and trama for this area.

Not bad wax wise if you can take risk. Best on Sunday though when all of wastelands plants are out instead of being one rotation or the other and/or candle cakes are there.

6. The Patch of Big Blue Flowers in Prairie Peaks

I just think they are pretty even though I don't stay there very often.

Is another place to chill and play instruments or just go afk on my boat.

7. Duet's Concert Hall

My favorite of the crowd tech areas

There is the 4 boat OOB and ghost piano.

I like the flower area and that hidden cave.

8. Starlight Desert (Pot Interior)

The place where I first met a dear friend I don't see too often anymore.

On rare occasions I will play music there but not as much as I used to, just doesn't feel the same...

Its the bitter sweet favorite if you will.

I feel bad for drunk spirit.

Favorite Ships:

Originally was going to do boats instead to be funny but I decided to be brave and talk a little about this.

Also If you have different headcanons and stuff I'm happy for you and wouldn't mind hearing about them.

1. Cackling Cannoneer and Anxious Angler

If you are wonder what's happening in the picture have a headcanon that angler has Cannoneer take pictures of them and their catches sometimes. (Joke on "fishing dad photos")

Originally I didn't ship it. It just kinda happened!!!

I find the dynamics between the two interesting. So now it's become like a side lab experiment I tinker around with.

"Hunter × fisher sapphics???" - something someone said to me and stuck.

And before someone asks I do head canon that both of them are around the same age albeit angler is the slightly older one of the two.

kinda comes off as more of a queer platonic relationship of sorts??? But idk thinks can and have changed before.

As for... if someone is curious about how Doppelneer from my au feels... all I have to answer you is this image from centaurworld...

And to say the least if you know... YOU KNOW and NO they are not going to be taking it well.

Also man that image has been on my phone for awhile... centaurworld underrated.

2. Duets Guide and Compassionate Chellist

I think both of them are cute and really enjoyed that season for actually having somewhat of a story... and hiiiii abyss crew.

I hope they have a nice afterlife together playing music

3. Provoking Performer and Sneezing Geographer

Crack ship due to that one traveling spirit bug... and I found funny and never forgot.

I like to think that the reason that the glitch happened is that geographer sneezed while mid-telaport, and that caused provoking and the random statue to be there. And now sneezing and provoking are dating.

For some reason, it reminds me of a troupe that I swear I have seen... where wizard messes up a spell and summons the wrong spirit/ demon/ entity, and over time, they slowly fall in love... idk lol

Bonus Fav Ships (Boats):

I decided to include this anyway, haha.

1. Abyss Crew's Boat

I love speculating if it had an interior, what it would look like.

Nice size. Rare example of one of the more medium size boats in game.

I like that you can tell that it's definitely a place that was used but the "sand" on everything indicates stuff hasn't been touched in a bit and the fact there are light blooms attached to the boat says it hasn't moved in a bit. Possibly stranded.

While the enchantment ark has a mural telling it's story and you repair it gradually I like abyss crews for the subtlety of prop placement and things are left were they are.

Still RIP beta version of this boat...

2. My Boat

It's my boat :D

T'was one of my first IAP that I got gifted thus I cherish it.

Not as cool as abyss crew's but it does it's job well even though she be a wanderer.

It's always funny when others steal it and proceed to get her stuck.

Wish there was a way to place it in my nest... I would in a heartbeat if I could.

So I’ve been seeing “600 Strike Inaccuracies which, yeah it’s is, so here is my take on it. I heard about the Ares mentor taking over for Athena thing and I really like that. Here is my mentor AU, something.

So we know about Diomedes and Ares, but that happened with Athena’s help. Both gods on the same level, (kinda) meaning not the big three. So it would make sense to me to have a member of the big three to help Odysseus. Hades, it seems, is the best and only candidate.

Hades could give Odysseus the ability to at least lay hands on Poseidon. And the line “600 strike” could be more impactful if Hades released all 600 souls through the water to attack Poseidon.

Also the stabbing part, i interpret that as “I’m letting you do this to see if you processed what I said.” Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves, but when Odysseus asked Poseidon if he could forgive, it’s like a “oh you didn’t comprehend what I said. You are still weak with emotion and mercy so die.” Something along the lines of that. Poseidon is letting Odysseus do this to see “are you going to be ruthless today so you can live tomorrow?” Poseidon telling Odysseus to stop is testing his self-control (is that what I am trying to say?) He is putting on a show of weakness to see Odysseus’s changing level of strength.

Poseidon: Stop (let’s see what you are gonna do)

Odysseus: continues stabby-stab

Poseidon: Nice

Also I think Poseidon was waiting for the “Ruthlessness is Mercy upon ourselves” line, to make sure it sunk in.

Poseidon internally saying yes, finally, you got it, you are good to go home.

The “Remember Me” line from Ruthlessness, I now interpret as, “Remember my ideals, my view on the world. Remember the way to survive.”

Finally the “How will you sleep at night?” question, I interpret as Poseidon trying to get a handle on Odysseus’s changing mindset, and his plan for dealing with his ruthlessness in the future.

You guys ever dislike a ship that becomes canon but eventually grows on you? Like you still dislike it, but it’s not on the same level as when you were younger. But then you go back to the piece of media that ship is from, and you’re like “…OH. OH. I SEE IT. I SEE IT NOW.”

BECAUSE THAT’S HAPPENED TO ME WITH RENRUKI. And I’m autistic, and Bleach is my main special interest, so I’m going to ramble.

When Bleach finished, I was 11, and I got into it when I was turning 7. I’m now 20. When I was 11, my main ships were Ichiruki and Ulquihime.

I was 11. I need you to understand that.

I no longer ship either of these ships for the record, but I REALLY disliked Ichihime and Renruki. This was before I realised I was a multishipper, and before I even knew what polyamory was (because my solution to multishipping is often just polyamory). But being a multishipper and liking poly ships wouldn’t have made any difference with this.

Eventually, Ichihime and Renruki grew on me. Renruki… A LOT MORE than Ichihime. I still dislike Ichihime, but not for any big reason. Anytime I see them together as a ship, my brain just rejects it. I think this may be because they’re both ginger, because I had the same exact reaction to a ship I LOVE but it was fanart where one of the characters was changed to his canon ginger appearance from a different canon… and my brain rejected it so fucking hard. (I am also romance repulsed aromantic on top of that so that also impacts how I feel about certain ships like Ichihime). But this doesn’t happen with Renruki.

Recently, I started rewatching Bleach. I’ve been posting about my thoughts on here every now and again so you may have seen me talk about Ichigo because he is my son, and I didn’t realise until now that I’m an adult… HE’S JUST A KID- HOLY SHIT. Been thinking “I wish Ichigo was more like a kid sometimes…” HE IS. IN SEASON 1 AND 2. HE JUST MATURES. I love him. But that’s not important!

Right now, I am up to… specifically Yoruichi vs Soi Fon? But during that time frame, there’s the scene with Rukia and Renji. I never thought too much of that scene before, but after all the OCs I made in the last five years (I was 15 when I last watched season 3 of Bleach), and all the new ships I have attained, and all the OC / OC x canon ships I have made…

THAT SCENE HIT SO DIFFERENT. HOLY SHIT. I AM A CHANGED MAN.

I watched that scene, and it finally clicked in my head. I finally understand Renruki in a way I never have before (not on a deep level, I just finally understand why they’re end game). Specifically because of Renji’s demeanor and tone change at the end. I needed to make ships that use that exact kind of dynamic for me to GET IT.

I can’t even properly put into words how I felt watching that scene, but I think a recreation of my inner monologue describes it best: “oh… oh… oh no… no, wait… don’t do this to me… renji… stop… STOP. STOP IT. NOOOOOOO… (long pause. Head in hands) I get it now… holy shit. Holy shit I understand why they end up together. I get it now. Renji, the man you are.”

Am I a Renruki shipper now? …eeeeh hard to say. I disliked the ship for a very long time, so it’s gonna take me a while to adjust properly to how I feel about it now. But I am finally fully at peace with the fact it’s canon. Like I thought I was before now? How I felt about the ship yesterday, and how I feel about the ship today are two completely different states of being. (Also I disliked Grimmichi for nearly a decade and then saw livray’s fanart of them in 2020, they started to grow on me, and now I ship it but only post-TYBW, and that took a while. So it’ll take a while for me to fully come to terms with the fact I think I like Renruki now because I disliked that for even longer than a decade).

Andor bitterness under cut

so Andor S2 DARED to jerk me around for 3 arcs (a long time to wait and hope the show will hit its stride), and then have arc 4 jerk me around even more violently with many potent reminders of what S1 felt like and S2 could have been, get me to suspend disbelief enough to cry TWICE, and then go out with a meh montage and a final insult of baby. one last glimpse of B2, but at what cost. this has been such a wild ride of a viewing experience 🫩

not sure why they suddenly remembered how to structure scenes and let them breathe and cut between them normal-style in this final set of eps. and how to have a beat of levity in the midst of a tense dramatic scene (undue radio nerdery), as opposed to stilted comedy bs (I’m still not over the nonsense TIE fighter slapstick and the bumbling jungle rebels). but of course it was always going to be easier to put the ending together with everything converging and the built in excitement of the R1 lead-up, so maybe that freed them up to actually work on the scripts. assuming they didn’t film wildly out of order. ugh.

anyway, Elizabeth Dulau carried this arc like a pro. was a bit weird to be doing flashbacks this late in the season, awkward way to set up the “and here’s why the present day scenes are about to be doubly sad!” but the payoff worked for me, the taking off life support first and only then the kiss had me bawling. funny how her radicalization was portrayed in just a few broad strokes but was still poignant. funny how that’s possible to pull off. (question: what was it that Luthen was saying in the “make it stop” scene?) the bts insight that she apparently lovehated him for “murdering her parents” was baffling, what ended up on screen felt a lot subtler and richer than that.

other highlights: I whispered “nooooo, Lonni nooooooo” all through the Lonni bench scene, finally some classic spy shit. was expecting more instances of Luthen and especially Cassian having to dirty their hands, thought that would make up the meat of the drama in S2, but no, there was too much shuffling of characters around to do. speaking of spy shit, they had that intricate foolproof setup at the hospital and presumably many more like that ready to go but no space cyanide tooth for Luthen? oh right, the halfway effective stabbing, along with the flashbacks, is the shaky premise on which his ending is built.

thought eps 10-11 might shape up to be a narrow, deadly relay race of intel from Lonni to Luthen to Kleya to Cassian, to mirror the one at the end of R1, but I’m glad Kleya lived to land among friends and see the sunrise.

Velkleya will get together, yes? chemistry was cute. god they did Cinta dirty 😣

it speaks to the level of distrust instilled in me by S2 that when Nemik’s manifesto started up I was like “oh you are NOT going to cheaply recycle this as voiceover for some heartfelt slo mo montage!!!” and was SUPER relieved when Partagaz diegetically stopped the playback. and then I bawled over it being out there and spreading (like a disease). and yay, space bunker suicide! Lagret expectantly leaving him in there like a gamemaker with poison berries a further great touch.

while K2’s introduction so soon on the heels of Bix’s dumb departure was too tonally off, the rest was impeccable! and perfect fanservice. the “are you with us” got a big nervous laugh out of me.

Dedra’s Dutch former minion seemed intent on wearing the exact same face as her at all times but otherwise carried himself very well. fun character, met a fun end. the way Dedra’s downfall played out made sense, but the scene with Krennic was the strongest and most satisfying, and then it sort of trailed off. so she’s in a (some have said Narkina-esque but it’s meant as generic imo) prison. discarded, in ignominy, gotcha. it’s just, the difference between “well executed” and “declared” may be subtle but it’s there, and my biggest beef with S2 is that it’s doing a lot of declaring, and not much executing. the Watsonian chaos and rush of unfolding events in S1 has become Doylist in S2. and from what I’ve seen, viewers who are willing to meet S2’s declarations halfway or even go the whole way doing its heavy lifting for it have enjoyed it much more than me.

remains funny how the titular character humbly stepped aside and let everyone else take turns shining, possibly because he was too busy producing. glad to see his R1 hair make a return, my favorite Cassian hair.

to end this on a suitably dissatisfied note, Perrin was so much fun this season only for that to go nowhere much. cavorting with Sculdun’s wife and drinking heavily? whatev.

might do a rewatch to painstakingly catalogue all my grievances, but if I don’t get around to it — shame it had to end this way but we’ll always have S1 and I’m looking fwd to the fic!

Stumbled on your AU and it sounds SO COOL, the female protags often get sidelined and I really loved reading about them here! :D I was Immediately expecting Hikari to be full of ghosts or a time traveler with the comment about her way of speaking and bearing and it's so cool! ALSO man,,,I love protags being older than base game lets them be,,,,I love to see it

Question about your Hikari specifically; from what I can tell as Akari she is still in Hisui. Will she ever be able to make her way home? Or is it like a concurrent, conflicting timeline thing? I hope this doesn't sound mean dxfcgv I'm just really interested in how they work out in story!

Also if it IS a fall and then return, did she know the other protags prior? Does it change how she interacts with them? REALLY love that Leaf is as nonverbal as Red, that's something I really enjoy about Red that I like to see for her as well! Esp since Leaf Green was the first game I owned (borrowed my cousin's Blue for One [1] car ride but yeah) so I am especially attached to her as the protag. ;w; Green I am sure has no idea how to handle her sincere congratulations because that MAN he is....he sure is. XD

Me handshake Haruka I too want every single pokedoll in existence, what is her favorite pokedoll she has? Is there a story behind it? Has she ever learned how to make her own? Also LOVE to see a sea shantier, heck yeah. Does she have a favorite shanty? Or favorite vibe of shanty I guess dxcfvbghn LOVE that Touka suplexes Boldores, has she always had that strength or did she have to slowly run a gauntlet of suplexing Pokemon until she got there? Did she ever suplex a train- I saw you're a fan of ferriswheelshipping and I enjoy that your Touko and N both share the desire to protect innocents, is it maybe something they bond over?

I feel Mei's clumsiness on a deep level because I swear I run into things every DAY, at least she has someone to keep her from getting hurt too badly. XD I really like that she's both doing Pokemon things and looking for her prince; in a lot of media I feel like one is often sidelined for the other, and it's nice to see what looks like it'll be a healthy mix! Also I have to ask, do her Enamorus attempts end in success or catastrophe? Who has she most famously [or infamously] gotten together?

Love what you've done with Serena as well! Does she ever Rhyhorn race herself?

AND WE LOVE A GHOSTY PRANKSTER as someone who just Absorbs behaviors from those around me I really really enjoy the thought of someone doing that with ghost Pokemon. And love the callback to the hex maniac line heheheheheeee

RIP GLORIA YOU ARE NEVER GONNA RECOVER FROM THAT ONE OH NOOOOOOO but love the use of valiant bcus it's not used enough and it also like. Paints a picture. Like in a crisis, this Gloria would stare it down and do everything to avert it, and I really like that.

I've barely even touched Paldea szdxcfvg so I know nothing about it BUT love a straight A scholar, and I love Juliana's naming scheme too! Does she have any favorite courses? Any specific part of Pokemon research she may enjoy?

I agree that the protagonists are prone to being sidelined; it's been a steadily increasing occurrence ever since character customization was introduced to the series. That's actually one of several reasons why I began this blog!

These girls are so very important to me.

Now, to address your Hikari-related question: Hikari, or rather Akari, is determined to return to her time, reunite with her companions (both human and Pokémon), and continue striking terror into the hearts of challengers as Sinnoh's ruthless Champion. But she may tempt a boy into following her home, though...

And yes! Akari has in fact met the other protagonists prior to being sent to the Hisuian era! The narration of the story I'm currently writing even mentions a few of the other girls, showing that she does indeed know them, and well enough to apparently be familiar with some of their various quirks.

All of them meet one another sometime shortly after the events of Black 2 and White 2, at the World Tournament in Driftveil City. It's sort of similar to that scene in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a collective realization of "You're like me...(!!)"

But about Hikari's/Akari's manner of speech. This is something I'm struggling with somewhat, since I'm afraid that what's written in her character profile may be misleading. I'm aiming to give her an elegant way of speaking, but this is more meant to allude to her not sounding unusual at all when she's swept away to Hisui - which ironically only makes her seem even more suspicious to those like Kamado.

My decision for Leaf to also be mostly nonverbal was partly because it sounded interesting to write, but also because I wanted to try a different approach with a silent character - normally they're depicted as shy or standoffish, but Leaf isn't either. She's as vibrant as can be, and loves to interact with people.

Kotone's team isn't set in stone yet, but aside from Eva, her Typhlosion, she has a Gyarados (Carmen), and I would love to give her a Tyranitar too! All three quite fearsome!

And Kris taking the role of Kotone's friendly rival - I dislike adapting characters out, I want to give a role to everyone, especially the first female protagonist in the series. Even though she's the friendly rival, Kris is intended to be just as tough of a challenge as Silver - she has the starter weak to Kotone's, which is a Chikorita, but she very quickly covers her partner's weakness.

Haruka doesn't exactly play favorites with her Poké Dolls; each is a valuable member of her plushie family! She freaks out if even one is unaccounted for. About her sea shanties, she does have a few she's fond of, like 'Paldean Ladies', and one that you may be familiar with that goes something like,

"O'er across the ocean's tide Rays of sunshine far and wide Wingull they sing of cheerful things, in circles passing by!"

Not a sea shanty, but she also enjoys singing 'Rainbow Connection'.

Touko's strength is tied to her passion to protect the innocent! It all began when she was young - she would beat up anyone that bullied Bianca or her "baby brother" Touya. Her having Pokémon now doesn't really stop her from pummeling people (or trying to), though-

She and N, while they're connected on wanting to protect innocents, throughout the events of Black and White, they constantly butt heads on the best method to do that. Touko also calls him "geek boy" after hearing him speak math one time.

Mei's most notable attempt at playing Enamorus... well, I'm certain if you think about it long enough, you'll figure it out!

Serena enjoys Rhyhorn riding more as a recreational activity rather than something to seriously pursue. It's more like Rhyhorn strolling when she's on the back of one.

Mizuki is meant to be this girl in FireRed and LeafGreen!

Another reason she admires Leaf is because she didn't even so much as flinch when she and her Ghost-type pal pranked her. Her eyes just widened in surprise, no scream as expected!

As for Gloria's past crush, Hop is a good boy and lets sleeping Yamper lie. But her big brother Victor... "But Leon, you CAN'T go! I LOOOOVE you!" And he carries on until she has to slap him-

Juliana doesn't have a favorite class because she loves everything about her academic experience. But Director Clavell is her favorite member of the staff.

Everyone's preferred type? Well, I wouldn't say anybody has one since their teams are relatively balanced. Haruka and Kotone show appreciation for Bug-types, though!

Another Time, Another Place. We Could Have Been Allies. (Battle #12 Pao Prarie)

Allies - Tao (Level 14), Mae (Level 14), Khris (Level 14), Anri (Level 10), Amon (Level 8), Diane (Level 8) Enemies - 5 Lizardmen, 3 Dark Priests, 4 Pegasus Knights, 4 Silver Knights, 1 Artillery, Elliot

Attempt 1 - So Pao Prarie is.... A LOT of land. Nova's advice was to stick together. We'll be spending some time to actually GET to the fights, so I'll even remark the amounts of turns it takes to get to our first fight.

Four turns and I decide to go north. Mae is in a position to fight with her spear. I'll probably go for the lizardman, and use the magic against the pegasus knights.

I'm risking Amon here but DANG is Mae strong. Despite her upgrade to the long sword it lives on 2 hp. Which is a good thing because that means that the pegasus knights shouldn't go after her. Instead the Lizardman failed to attack back, and a Pegasus knight did 1 damage to Mae.

Now let's go for a Blaze Level 3 to get rid of the Lizardman and POSSIBLY the Pegasus knights.

And this was the higher damage for it. Tao is my beloved gal.

AND MAE GOT A HIT!!!

Okay Amon... just hit... ONE HP MINIMUM.

Uh-oh. And Anri doesn't have the distance to get there to attack the lizardman. Let alone heal Amon.

BUT KHRIS CAN! And thank goodness she has some good defense given that she's our 3rd character.

The other two Pegasus Knights - Okay, let's make sure you wasted that.

I OVERESTIMATED THE GIRLS DEFENSE BUT NOT THEIR HP. Khris lived on 2. HP. Tao: on 7. But I will definitely get revenge for Amon.

Diane attacked the Lizardman that went after Tao and gained a level, getting an attack boost.

NO THE TURN ORDER IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE KHRIS GO BEFORE YOU- Khris is dead. It's FINE. We have MEDICAL HERBS. We... we can't go back to buy them. Otherwise we'd lose experience progress. And I'm not going to do THAT. OH NOOOOOOO-

I go back to playing and a PEGASUS KNIGHT KILLS TAO.

And then THEY NEARLY KILL ANRI SHE IS AT 2 HP.

Diane, filled with rage at the slaughter got a DOUBLE ATTACK. Too bad the opponent was left with 1 HIT POINT ARE YOU KIDDING ME-.

It's okay, Mae killed it and got a level up. Yeah the girls are PISSED.

Anri did a Blaze level 2 against a pegasus knight and lizardman, killing the knight and leveling up to gain hp and mp for a whole new freeze spell.

Diane and Mae tag teamed a Lizardman, and one tried to attack Anri... AND SHE DODGED. LIKE A BOSS. AND SHE DID A FOLLOWUP DEADLY FREEZE.

The girls then have a picnic with Medicinal Herbs, with Anri and Diane sharing theirs with Mae. Mae, enthused, then went and killed a Lizardman with a double attack. Diane then shared leftovers with Anri.

Then, as Diane saw a Silver Knight try to attack Mae, she came up and fired an arrow that hit and gave her a second level up! She's now level 10, with a defense increase and HP INCREASE OF 4.

A pegasus knight and fellow silver knight tried to come to back up their buddy, only to receive a spear bringing it from full down to 2 Hp, and a blaze level 2 spell, and an arrow to finish off the silver knight. The other silver knights fell similarly.

Then all the girls jumped the first dark priest. And the second one. And Mae one-shot The Artillery. And the Third Dark Priest.

But we're not beating Elliot. We're out of MP and Anri is definitely going to die. Mae and Diane can stay away, but I don't think they'll beat him. Unless the AI is required to stay... We can't even touch him!

Until Anri died, then Diane hit him and got another defense and speed level up.

Wait... this man is NOT moving.

Is this just free EXP for Mae and Diane??? I mean, they CAN kill him if they hit him but he's so hard to hit already.

I just hate that he regenerates 15 HP per turn. Elliott, please you could JOIN MAX IN THE BACK AND RELAX. OR JUST STOP. JUST STOP. JUST LET THE LADIES WIN. DID YOU SEE HOW MUCH BLOOD THEY'VE SUFFERED AND SPILLED.

Hopefully, Scott finally opens his damn eyes to his children for once and sees that Cal wants to be his own person. Maybe only do Santa part-time instead of just taking over completely. Still not entirely sure why Siffrin doesn't tell his party about the loops. Probably because they would keep forgetting and he'd have to keep reminding and that sounds annoying. Not just that he can handle it. Loop said telling them was ALLOWED, though. You can also get closer with them. But you just can't romance Isabeau, either.

Satoru looks so handsome, it’s borderline annoying. 

He’s dressed up all nice—not that he doesn't usually carry himself well, but it’s a safe bet that the tailored suit currently hugging his broad shoulders does more for him than his usual navy uniform. 

The gala he’ll be attending shortly is an annual Jujutsu event—one of high level sorcerers and prestigious clans and people with far more money that you can fathom. It only makes sense for the strongest sorcerer to be in attendance. 

Satoru had begged you to come by his side, let him show you off like a trophy on his hip, but you declined his offer. Not wanting to insert yourself into the center of Jujutsu society, you assured your boyfriend that you’d be waiting up for him back home, with a warm bed and maybe even a few kisses—if he behaves. 

Just as you’re about to send him off for the night, you teasingly remind him once more of his behavior. 

“Be good out there,” you taunt him, pressing a lingering kiss to his cheek. He instantly heats up at the feeling of your lips dancing on his skin. 

“Course,” he beams with a mischievous smile, “aren’t I always?”

You answer his rhetorical question with a roll of your eyes, which only makes his smile grow wider and the love in his eyes all the more fond.

You step away from him, taking once last look at your handsome lover before ultimately shipping him away, but something catches your attention—a soft hue of red blush decorating the bulb of his cheek. Not from his flustered expression, no, but from the lipstick you’d forgotten you were wearing. 

“Wait! Come here,” you beckon a finger that Satoru instinctually follows without realizing.

He saunters your way, perhaps thinking he’s getting another kiss, before he watches you lick the pad of your thumb and signal for his cheek.

“You can’t go out there like that,” you mumble, stepping closer to him. Satoru shimmies out of your hold and makes a beeline for the nearest mirror in your hallway. 

Noticing the outline gracing his cheek, he glows. “Huh, oh—wait! Keep it!” 

“No, Satoru,” you scold him, walking towards him once more before finally getting your hands on him. 

He pouts childishly when you lick your thumb a second time, “Why not, angel?”

He raises an entertained brow at your face of confusion, “Think of it as you marking your territory. What if someone thinks I’m single and tries to steal me away?”

With a scoff, your thumb begins to rub the blushing mark from his pale cheek.

“They’ll return you once you open your mouth.”

Satoru writhes in your hold, which is comical given his giant stature, “Baby, nooooooo!”

As if the removal causes him physical pain, he whimpers and wails as your thumb further dissolves the sweet pigmentation on his pale skin. 

He’s back to pouting as he grumbles, “You’re supposed to say ‘you wouldn’t let that happen, ‘Toru, you love me too much!’ or something similar.”

As you shoot another glare his way, something about Satoru’s expression softens the sarcasm threatening to spill over your lips. Maybe it’s his glossy eyes carefully watching your own, or the corners of his plush lips slightly turning upwards as he fights off a smirk. Whatever it may be, the lovesick look on your lover’s face has you rethinking his request. 

You lean in once more, and a part of Satoru thinks you’re going to kiss his cheek again. But fool him once, shame on him. Fool him twice...

Your mouth lands lower than he expects it to, and he doesn’t feel your lips on his skin as you fool around by his neck. It’s moments like these where Gojo thinks of the irony of his technique. The cruel and contrasting paradox of his infinity when all he wants to do it touch you, be held by you, feel your lips flutter against his skin.

It takes him a moment to realize the effect of your sly actions. Right there, against the stark white polyester of his collar, is your blushing lip stain embroidered into the material, practically glistening for all to see. 

“Like I said,” you hum into the crook of his neck before meeting his eyes once more, “be good out there.”

Filled with butterflies and an odd sense of pride, Satoru stands up a little taller. 

He tips his head to you, ‘Yes, boss.”

He attends the event with ugrency, wanting it to be over as quicky as it can begin, for he now has places to be that are far more important than here. 

He knows you’ll be in bed once the dinner party is over. He’ll just have to wait. 

After all, they do say patience is a virtue—and for the first time in his life, Satoru is willing to find out if there’s any truth to that statement.
