It’s still MerMay! Thanks to a conversation with someone on Instagram, I was reminded of one of my favorite childhood characters and how similar he is to my current favorite character. So I knew I had to draw them together! 😂

I just watched ever single episode of the Little Mermaid series with a friend, and let me tell you when we simped *hard* for this villian. His name is Evil Manta, and the little tike at the bottom is his son Little Evil.

Now this isn’t to say I don’t love his design, but obviously it had to be simpler so it was easier to animate, so my friend and I took it upon ourselves to redesign him~

Let me know if you remember this guy! Cause I swear all of the Disney villains were a 1000 times more recognisable than the protagonists, I mean what about an evil manta ray, who’s voiced by Tim Curry, doesn’t demand a rent free room on the brain?

I'm gonna be real, I got "BEHOLD A MAN"ed a few times. This is one example as I run under fae logic and will accept things that take advantage of loopholes (except with the fucking harry potter submissions).

So no one was going to tell me that we had our first deaf Latina mermaid in the little mermaid series? 

And the fact she was based off of a fan of the original movie that died before the first season finished makes this even sweeter.

See my sister loved this show as a kid, so I watched a ton of episodes. But I hardly remember them, though I do think it was making ariel more interesting than in the original movie

Instead of telling men to repress their emotions to appear stronger we should encourage them to sing incredibly dramatic ballads to process their emotions like in fictional movies. Maybe the world would heal faster. And also it would be very funny.
