I think Rhaena may have annoyed Elaena and Daena with her piety, and she may have disapproved of/been concerned about some of their behavior, but she never snitched on them, including Daena’s escapes

Hello. Can you write for Dark Platonic Father!Aegon ( conqueror ) Targaryen x Daughter Reader?
Tumblr media
You are the daughter of Aegon the conqueror and his wife, Visenya, making you the younger half-sister of Aenys and the older full-sister of Maegor.
Unlike your mother who is sharp and unforgiving, and your father who is decisive and commanding, you are shy and introvert.
Ironically, you are also scared of dragons.
This made rumors spiral around the court that you might not his daughter.
Let us just say, Aegon cut off many tongues when that rumor reached him.
Because he is sure that you are his daughter, especially since your hair and eye color are the same shade as his own.
Even if Aegon married Visenya out of duty, that does not mean you are not his favorite child.
In fact, Aegon began to visit Visenya more at her quarters after you are born.
Only because you share the same quarters as your mother, meaning you are around your mother usually if not all the time.
Aegon would try to take you riding on his dragon most of the time, wanting Balerion to bond with you.
But after every ride, you would run crying to your mother, making Visenya threaten Aegon.
Yes, she might find that your attitude towards a dragon is a weakness, but in the end, she is a mother who doesn't want to see her daughter in tears.
Aegon instead decides to teach you how to ride a horse, and every morning you two would go horse riding.
When you grow up, you fall in love with a bard who wrote a poem about your beauty.
Of course, when everyone heard the poem which later on turned into a song, the people knew it was about you.
And it reached the ears of the Targaryen king.
The bard confessed everything.
Yet Aegon still fed him to his dragon.
And locks you up in what comes to be known later as the Maidenvault.

TARGARYEN WEEK 2023: DAY SIX —  FAVOURITE FAMILY DYNAMIC
After dissolving his marriage with his sister-wife, Daena Targaryen, King Baelor the Blessed confined Daena and her younger sisters, Rhaena and Elaena, into their own "Court of Beauty" to avoid them tempting him with carnal thoughts.
The sisters were comfortably confined in what has become known as the Maidenvault.

Elaena Targaryen
Princess Elaena was only eleven when locked away in the Maidenvault. At that age she was a skinny thing, the runt of the litter, but she had more than a little of her sister Daena's wilfullness even then, as she would prove when she grew older. She liked to dress in black as a girl, because her big sister Daena had done it. Her eyes were a soft lilac, her mouth thin-lipped and often angry. Her hair was a platinum white with a bright golden streak down the middle, an unusual color even for the Targaryens. She wore it long, pulled back, and braided, and was always being told it was her crowning beauty. Elaena's most cherished possession was a dragon's egg whose stony shell showed the same colors as her hair. [x]

Can Jon take Sansa’s name by marriage? Even if he could, to me, it seems that he’ll remain as a snow, (yk he’s motherless, friendless, oathbreaker, turncloak, etc etc, all his speech of that), so if they have children, then they will be bastards? Or is it possible that they inherit their mother’s name? (Maybe King Bran ends up legitimizing them) The whole topic of bastardy and names is very interesting but confusing 😭😭😭😭😭😭
While it is not common, I don't think it would be utterly unthinkable for a man to take his wife's family name, especially if he is a bastard and she is of a nominally higher rank. Though that wouldn't be strictly necessary. Jon could remain a Snow and have Stark children if he is married to a Stark.
Bronn doesn't take the last name Stokeworth when he marries Lollys, but any child they have together is bound to be a Stokeworth, most likely.
Changing one's name is definitely possible, in general:
"I will, ser," said Leobald, and only then raised the matter of Lady Hornwood. Poor thing, with no husband to defend her lands nor son to inherit. His own lady wife was a Hornwood, sister to the late Lord Halys, doubtless they recalled. "An empty hall is a sad one. I had a thought to send my younger son to Lady Donella to foster as her own. Beren is near ten, a likely lad, and her own nephew. He would cheer her, I am certain, and perhaps he would even take the name Hornwood . . ." (ACOK, Bran II)
A child born in wedlock is not a bastard, even if a parent is a bastard. And people have changed their last names specifically to make this distinction:
"She was the fairest treasure of the Maidenvault. Lord Oakenfist the great admiral lost his heart to her, though he was married to another. She gave their son the bastard name of 'Waters' in honor of his father, and he grew to be a great knight, as did his own son, who put the 'Long' before the 'Waters' so men might know that he was not basely born himself. So I have a little dragon in me." (AFFC, Jaime I)
Then there's the story of the Karstarks, whose name evolved from the original Stark name (though no bastardy was involved).
Names can be flexible.
Plus, by the time we get toward the ending of the books, there is bound to be room for some changes in social mores and traditions, given the levels of general upheaval. They will not just return to the old status quo completely. Not in terms of female inheritance, probably, and not in terms of bastardy.

oh nooooo, do you think barba was the westeros equivalent of a tiktok boymom? that would explain SO MUCH about bittersteel.
(side note: i lowkey kind of hope melissa was a shitty mom in some fashion because so far, she comes off as too perfect, i want her to be fucked up and bloodraven having mommy issues makes sense)
barba interesting bc the brackens are catholic and when baelor was in power her father put her in the maidenvault to curry favour and the moment a king you can ascend with depravity came into power she was out of there and seducing him shes passed rapidly between virgin and whore and misses mother she has a son shes still a whore shes sent away. missy is allowed to be a Mother. i like to think she did genuinely have some sort of unstable affection for aegon like im the ONLY one who actually gets him not his frail grey little wife or that duplicitous grasping bitch missy. i like the idea she was kind of obsessed w him not just as an extension of her wanting power i like crazy pathetic women. if i was queen i would wear fat red rubies and lavish brocade and id kill all the blackwoods that pious mouse naerys is a little fool etc. they say hes cruel to her but you know how those lib-er-als exaggerate
barba banished from court. her father and sister she helped groom w gritted teeth to be with aegon (it should be HER) go and die bc theyre STUPID and she doesnt see their executions she gets a letter at stone hedge. i think her and aegor were on a schiele’s mother and child wave. i also think she outlived him

It's such an insult that Daena Targaryen is so often only remembered as this rebellious woman, and there's a whole aspect of her life that gets forgotten.
Yes, she's "Daena the Defiant", but she's also Daena, a teenager trapped in the confines of religion, first in marriage to her brother-husband and then to an actual prison, by decree of the king, said brother-husband. She only got her nickname during her imprisonment. She's also eldest sister to Rhaena and Elaena. Not only is she stuck in an impossible situation herself, she also has to take emotional care of two younger sisters. We know their physical needs were met, but that doesn't change the fact they were jailed.
Imagine being Daena. You are sixteen years old. You have been publicly humiliated by your brother who's also your husband, who refuses to act on your marriage. You are suddenly alone and cut off from the world by your fanatic brother, lest you tempt him. Now you have to comfort your younger sisters, one of whom is 11 years old, who are imprisoned with you. You have to be the mature and stable one and the support system for their sake. Of course she lashed out! Of course she rebelled! Of course she kept trying to break the strict boundaries she was confined in, whether the physical boundaries of the maidenvault or the metaphorical boundaries of the patriarchy fueled by religion.

Day 23 - Pregnancy
“Our son needs a name.”
“Jaehaerys?” Jon offered.
She frowned.
“And how many of those have there been?”
“We have an Aegon and there’s been five of them, not to mention all the ones who never became kings.” he countered.
She rolled her eyes and poked him in the chest.
“We named him after your brother at your insistence.”
“We did, but you also liked the name and the same with Rhaenys. How about Baelon?”
Daenerys shook her head.
“It’s too close to Baelor for my liking.”
“But Baelor Breakspear was -”
“A fine warrior and one of the Targaryens you admire, yes, but there is also Baelor the Blessed who locked his own sisters up in the Maidenvault.” she replied, her face curling up because she found Baelor the Blessed to be rather horrible.
“Fair point.” Jon conceded.
She knew that he cared little for Baelor I as well.
His next suggestion was worse than Baelor.
“Maegor.”
“After Maegor the Cruel? No.”
He drummed his fingers along her stomach and fired off another name.
“Maelor.”
“No.”
“Maegon.”
“No! Is that even a real name?” Dany replied, and she poked him in the chest as she rolled her eyes.
Jon tsked at her and said, “He was a Lord of Dragonstone before the Conquest. How can you not know the history of our house?”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n ahhh!! i totally understand the whole targ!reader, there is only so much incest i can take before i’m out. also, this is short and sweet <3.
warnings slight yandere tendencies, enabler!reader, kinda smut.
He wanted to know what it was like to press his callous hands against your skin, teeth against the flesh of your neck, to see you wither and cry out from underneath him. To hear your voice close to his ear, fingernails digging into the flesh of his skin, and legs wrapping around his waist. You were a dream, the only dream, that Aemond found himself wanting to come true.
The betrothal of you both had been announced at a feast held by his father, welcoming your family into theirs with a happy smile and hopes of a bright future for the betrotheds and your family’s house. Your family was a lowly house in Crownlands, and Aemond wasn’t too sure why his father approved of the betrothal that his mother was so vehemently against.
You were quite the spitfire when railed up, and since you hated the court so much, your annoyance was always at an all time high. Aemond had quickly grown tired of it, and decided that he would have to simply take you everywhere with him. It was obvious your interests didn’t lie with powdered words and false laughs, but with exploring the city and watching the tiltyard. Both something he could provide.
Aemond had always been aware of his tendencies and faults, and he doesn’t quite remember when his possessiveness began, just that one day, he saw Cole speaking with you and it awoke something within him. He wasn’t naïve enough to think Cole wanted anything from you, and it definitely stemmed from his own feelings against his mother’s loyal hound. He led the two of you out of the tiltyard only seconds later, and his eye glared at Cole the entire time.
He knew it was getting worse when Aegon made a comment about your hips and bosom, and that had been the first time Aemond had ever put a blade against his brother’s throat. The fallout of the entire situation left him banished to his apartments for the next fortnight, and his weapons confiscated by the orders of his father.
He knew, sitting in his rooms on the sixth night, that he had a problem. A problem that he wasn’t willing to fix. Just six days without seeing your face, hearing your voice, left him angered beyond belief. Why should he be punished when his brother made such comments about his betrothed, his wife to be? Aemond cared not if his mother wanted him alive and well in order to usurp their older sister’s claim.
On the seventh night, when the guards began their rotation, Aemond snuck out. Quick down the stairs, and through long and winding corridors to reach the Maidenvault. Finding your rooms was easy, and slipping pass the dozing guards was even easier. And at last, Aemond laid his eyes upon your sleeping form once more. He stalked across the room, a hand reaching out to shake you awake.
“Wha— Ah! Wait — Aemond?” You gasp, eyes widening at the sight of him. “It has yet been a fortnight, what is it you’re doing?”
“I had to see you again, ñuha perzys,” He whispered, lowering to sit on the edge of your bed. “I fear I cannot go so long without looking upon your beautiful face.”
You raise a brow, “Tis only a fortnight. And, for good reason! You nearly killed your brother and—”
“For you, perzys,” Aemond cut her off, eye widening into something deranged. “I would kill everyone if it meant looking upon your face, hearing your sweet voice,” He trailed off with a faraway look for a moment, not noticing your look of disbelief and slight fear.
“You cannot mean that,” You insist. “You have only known me for five moons.”
Aemond gave a soft look, so uncharacteristic on his usual stoic face. “You understand me, ñuha perzys. You see me for who I am. You do not balk at the sight of my eye. You defend me when no one else has. Be it five moons or five years, I will do everything in my power to see you. Burn the world, if I must.”
You open your mouth, closing it soon afterwards, at a lost for words. Then, then, you grace Aemond with smile that forced the sun to pale in comparison. You sit up properly, face to face with Aemond, and cup his cheeks with your hands. “If I wanted diamonds and gems?” You wonder.
“Then diamonds and gems you shall have,” He inched closer, allowing your hands to grip his and guide them underneath your silk smooth shift.
“If I wanted all the gold from all the Magisters of the Free Cities?” You pull yourself closer, lips close enough to touch his.
“The gold will be yours,” He murmured, lost in your eyes, lost in your silky voice and smooth flesh underneath his trailing fingertips. Your fingers guided his towards your wet cunt.
“What if I wanted the Iron Throne. Would you give it to me?” Your voice ended in a needy whimper, eyes resembling that of a doe’s, as if it were an innocent question. With no merit behind it.
“I’ll conquer the Seven Kingdoms as my ancestor had, and lay it beneath your feet, if you so much as ask for it,” He groaned when his fingers sank inside your dripping cunt, worship in his tone.
Your giggle turned into a moan, as he pushed you onto your back, fingers working in and out of your cunt. “I’ll hold —ah— you to that.”

She was not a pretty girl, with her crowning beauty being her hair, when her brother locked her up she cut off her hair as protest.

HOUSE TARGARYEN ♔ the maidens in the tower
Daena was wild almost from birth. She was strong, beautiful, and willful. She was an expert horsewoman and also a hunter and a fine archer with her short recurved bow. She had a a fearless “I’ll dare anything” smile. During her time of confinement at the Maidenvault, Daena escaped several times and had an affair with her cousin Prince Aegon, despite his marriage to his own sister-wife Naerys. When she became pregnant she refused to name the father and became known as “Daena the Defiant.” Rhaena was the second daughter of King Aegon III Targaryen and Queen Daenaera Velaryon. Two years younger than Daena, Rhaena was just as lovely as her sister, but hers was a softer, sweeter, more feminine beauty. Where Daena was willful, wild, and adventurous, Rhaena was dutiful, meek, and passive. She loved lace and gold trim and often embroidered depictions of faith on her clothing. Rhaena, unlike her two sisters, never chaffed at her confinement. She was almost as pious as her brother Baelor, and eventually became a septa. Elaena lived a much longer life than her sister Daena, and a much more tumultuous one than her sister Rhaena. Although Elaena had three husbands during her lifetime, the great love of her life was her cousin, Lord Alyn Velaryon. She gave birth to two bastard children by him, the twins Jon and Jeyne Waters. Elaena had hoped to marry Alyn, but he was lost at sea. She would go on to marry three times, first to Lord Ossifer Plumm who died on their wedding night, then Lord Ronnel Penrose. He sat on the king’s small council as master of coin; but it was widely known that Elaena was the one performing the duties, as she was shrewd and intelligent with money. King Daeron trusted her with many important matters of state, and she grew influential. Elaena birthed Ronnel four children: Robin, Laena, Jocelyn, and Joy Penrose. Not long after Ronnel’s death, Elaena married once more, for love and by her own choosing. With King Daeron II’s blessing, Elaena was married to Ser Michael Manwoody, a Dornishman who had attended the court of Mariah Martell.
