"You alright?" the Doctor asked.
"Yeah." Donna smiled, putting on a brave face. "No. But I will be. You?"
"Yeah," the Doctor repeated, then paused. "No. But I will be."
DoctorDonna and "I will be."

i genuinely think that one of the most heartbreaking things about the doctor who original novels is the shocking number of ten and donna stories that separate the two of them straight out the gate, and then proceed to keep them apart for like half the story. like, really? the two most fun characters to write? with the dynamic that's one third banter and two thirds unassailable bestfriendship? you're gonna keep them apart for the bulk of the narrative? this is why the economy's in shambles.

So I’m listening to The Nemonite Invasion, and the sailor Donna is flirting with the whole time
Has brown eyes
Big smile
Snarky
Bit of a show off
Techy and has engineering knowledge
Keeps calling her “brilliant”
…and I can’t be the only one seeing the parallels here.

Hi! I'm newly obsessed into Doctor and Donna, would you happen to have a list of her appearances outside the TV eps? I found a list on the Fandom wiki page and was surprised to read your post about the Camelot book because it wasn't on the list! So I don't trust it anymore now lol and turning to you. Thank you ❤️
*cracks knuckles* OKAY SO i can't claim to be an expert so I'm just listing everything i can think of but im sure there's the obscure extended universe thing here or there but here's as comprehensive of a list I can provide!
Big Finish Audio Dramas
Tenth Doctor Adventures Vol 1
Tenth Doctor Adventures Vol 3
Donna Noble Kidnapped!
Specifically Audio Books (narrated rather than full cast performance)
Death's Deal (which I didn't even know about until i scanned through big finish!)
The Nemonite Invasion
The Forever Trap
Pest Control
Novelizations of specific Donna episodes
Planet of the Ood
Fires of Pompeii
The Star Beast
Wild Blue Yonder
The Giggle
Novels that are independent adventures
Ghosts of India
Beautiful Chaos (an absolute must read imo!!!)
Legends of Camelot
The Doctor Trap
Shining Darkness
In The Blood
Comics
Idk about the comics for the most part but there is this one shot that makes me feel So Many Things
That's all I got! If anybody knows of any more Donna Noble content please add on to this!!

Do you have a favourite from those? And is 'In the blood' any good? :)
Hello kind Anon!
Oooh, now that’s a tricky question. At one time I would have definitely said “Beautiful Chaos” was my favourite book - obviously I am a DD masochist who enjoys sobbing their heart out at the end of a story - but “In The Blood” is a lovely lighthearted tale that sort of pays homage to the Doctor & Donna combination.
As for the audio books, I liked the weirdness of “The Forever Trap”, the fact it managed to be scary in places, and the old lady’s advice to Donna. [Okay, I might have fallen asleep and missed most of “The Nemonite Invasion” thanks to a migraine; but it was thrilling to think I’d actually been to those Dover war rooms and seen what it was like. And as @some-thrilling-heroics said about “Pest Control”, it’s got centaurs!]
The audio adventures are in a league of their own, and it is really hard to choose. As an ardent Ten/Donna shipper, I’m going to plump for “No Place” but I could easily change my mind about it soon.
My answer to your second question is ‘yes’ [see comment above] because it allows Donna to shine in ways she wasn’t able to elsewhere. And the Doctor says some really nice things about her.
But if you have any particular reason for liking any of the stories on the list, do let me know (tag me, or something) as I’d love to read your thoughts.
For anyone confused what this is all about, it is this list

I just finished the Nemonite Invasion and it honestly the best Doctor Who audio Exclusive (added bonus is the fact it is read by Catherine Tate)
Also Fossbrook is the only man Donna canonically kissed because she wanted to, not because she had to when travelling with the Doctor
And then he blows himself and the ship up to stop the Nemonites infecting the people.
Why can’t Donna ever have nice things.

Tagged by @roxannepolice and @harrowq, it's my lucky day
Rules: List the first lines of your last 10 published fics and see if there’s a pattern.
“Get out of the way,” the Master says, but the Doctor turns around, grabs him by his shoulders, looks him in the eyes.
I know that there's some kind of place ("The End of Time" AU, being miserable about Time Lords' fucked up little society)
“I thought I was gonna die.” Donna whispers it, like a confession.
welcoming you back home (the only one that you have ever known) (post-"Wild Blue Yonder," DoctorDonna)
The Doctor jolted back to full consciousness with ice cold water dumped on his head.
the kind of thing they did (during and post-The Nemonite Invasion, DoctorDonna)
he’s like a god the way he walks towards you, unafraid, unflinching, you want to hurt him.
god (during the wasteland scene in "The End of Time," tensimm, prose poetry)
“Isn't it beautiful, Doctor?”
I want your quiet, your screaming and thrashing (post-"The Last Line" AU, tenwar, ten's stuck in the time war)
The clock ticks in the corner, counting down every second of the silence.
The Blood-Dimmed Tide (Hermitcraft/Life SMP TMA AU, written for the Hermitshipping Big Bang)
They used to torture people here,” the Doctor with a bowtie — Eleven — says.
All these soldiers (Christmas gift for @bloopdydooooo, "Day of the Doctor" AU)
Jon feels sick after he reads Prentiss’ statement.
The Rotten Stone is a Mirror (my magnum opus, my last TMA fic, goes from MAG 32 -> MAG 160)
The Doctor's back arched and an agonised howl tore out of his mouth as soon as Dalek X activated the mind-probe.
i will pull it together (you can love me forever and ever) (post-Prisoner of the Daleks, DoctorDonna, read the whumpy bit and I was like. but what if friendship)
The Doctor stands on the edge of the building, looking out over it all.
The Last Laugh ("The Giggle" AU, please note that my views have Very Much Changed, i repeat it in the author's notes a whole bunch, im like hi hey guys uhm. i dont think the giggle was. bad. actually)
A pattern with my writing is usually starting with dialogue and then describing the scene, because I like it. It doesn't happen nearly as often as I thought it did.
Anyway, tagging: @bloopdydooooo, @mapleejay, uhhm... @cyeayt do you write fanfiction? i think you do? sorry i forgor

mirthfulwoman replied to your post:Have you ever listened to "The Forever Trap"...
Well since you bring it up, what is a Saturday girl? The old woman! Yes! They always are the most proud. Nemonite Invasion was pretty good, in that Donna had a love interest and the Doctor said one of the shippiest lines ever.
Ah, I walked into that one, didn't I? When you reach the grand age of 15 years and 3 months here you are allowed to work a few hours a week to earn money; and for most that means a Saturday job. So Donna getting such a job means she was a Saturday girl.
That old lady really made me giggle. :)
The Doctor does?! Oh my; I shall have to listen to the rest of that story ASAP because my mind won't rest until I've heard it all. Bugger!

Without you, Donna Noble, without you, I wouldn’t be half the man I am. You are wonderful and clever and fun and unique and tireless and determined and amazing and devoted and brave and the best, best company. Thank you.
