They literally said "that's a spin-off I would watch" when talking about young Eda and Lilith! So maybe, just maybe we actually stand a chance at it happening somehow
yknow what really small detail from ‘thanks to them’ just breaks my heart?
it’s this. hunter says “that throne room”.
“that”
not “the throne room”, THAT throne room.
he refers to the throne room in the castle the same way people who have had a traumatic experience (especially abuse victims) refer to where it took place. like when people who were abused as children talk about how they remember being in “that house” instead of “the house” when talking about their childhood residence.
obviously hunter was abused by belos, that’s not news, and the show has always had his behavior and mannerisms reflect that. but something about him saying “that throne room” just hurts to hear.
you can tell just from that one sentence that he experienced so much pain at belos’ hand in that throne room over the years.
Sure we could get a scene of Hunter cautiously explaining to the others about his Grimwalker origins with all the vulnerability and hurt/comfort vibes we could ever want. However, the chances of Hunter just bringing up as a conversational “fun fact” that makes everyone stare at him in existential horror is not only not zero, but in my opinion much more likely.
Like, he already did that little casual “Well, you’re a witch.” comment to Gus without any emotional baggage attached to it. Plus they established that he’s been studying up on Grimwalker lore since he disappeared after Hollow Mind. Also, we’ve seen Hunter just go on informational dumps at least 3 or 4 times in the past. Not only that, but he’s also just brought up traumatic moments from his past in a light hearted fond matter (ex: the mountain training)
I’m not saying we AREN’T going to get that vulernable hurt/comfort moment of him trying to come to terms with being a Grimwalker. I’m just saying that I wouldn’t be shocked if he just…. Told the whole entire rebellion in a “hey did you know~?” matter.
This just hit me all of a sudden but what we learned about The Collector and Collectors in general in For The Future actually gives us so much context about the Owl Beast and how it’s acted throughout the series.
Like, the last time that Collectors came to the Boiling Isles, they waged war against the Titans with the goal of wiping out all life on the planet. (This is what the crossed out section in The Collector’s giant book is about).
Meaning that this scene:
Took place during a war (or more accurately, an attempted genocide) that led to almost all life on the Boiling Isles wiped from existence... The Owl Beast is a war survivor who spent thousands of years trapped in a void, only to be “freed” by being sealed inside another living being... and he’s immediately attacked the first time he manages to break through to the surface...
Like no wonder The Owl Beast’s first instinct is to attack. He’s like super traumatized.
the fucking. reveal of the golden guard skeletons. that belos was just tossing their corpses into a pit. that there was THAT MANY. i will pay for hunters therapy myself
Can’t believe The owl House is over now. I’m gonna miss this show *cries* Here are some character posters I made before the final came out in celebration (and mourning).
