finished all of owl house & im wondering where yall getthe Caleb and Philip lore like from what I recall the show itself didn't mention the two of them much & the only lore regarding their past was from masha's storytelling during the festival in "thank to them" plz I read the wiki but im still confused where does the info comd from oh also was it ever said how belos made the golden guards? I kinda just assumed they were made from pieces of caleb's corpse but idk

HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO WATCHING AND DREAMING!!

To celebrate I painted Philip’s death but I did how i wished it went (explanation under ‘read more’)

Explanation: for this I have Luz walking away in the background because at this point she’s done with him; she’s over his lies and will never listen to him again. He does not mattet to her anymore. I also think her walking away would annoy Philip to no end because how date she turn her back on her fellow human.

I really wish they had involve the hallucinations of Caleb and the Grimwalkers because Caleb is his entire reason for everything his; all of the crimes committed to bring back Caleb and some semblance of his childhood, when it was just the two of them. I wanted this man to break down at the realisation that all he has done was gor nothing; Caleb’s dead and nothibg can change that. I want him to face his biggest gulit and regret. In my art, I have only show Caleb’s leg, to mirror the shot of Philip when he crawls to Luz in canon when he’s still human looking. Here Philip I have looking up at Caleb as the rain melts him slowly but surely. I also have gloves coming from the ground (most of them one is just floating in the air) grabbing at/pushing him down to represent the past Grimwalkers; dragging their ‘uncle’/creator/Emperor down into the ground with them as he’s melting (I really like him melting, like the Wicked West of the West, good reference and good symbolism).

Do you think Philip deep down know witches and demons aren’t evil?

Oh, absolutely. The scene in For the Future where Philip sees the ghosts of Caleb and the other Golden Guards is described as the “Golden Guard Illusion.” That indicates that Philip was suffering from hallucinations. Additionally, the way he told Caleb, “Oh, shut up,” further suggests that he experienced auditory hallucinations and that Caleb spoke to him in them. Taking into account the condition of the Golden Guards and the way that Caleb presented, it’s clear that Philip knows he’s doing something bad deep down, but he can’t bear the thought of everything he’s sacrificed being for nothing.
