There were not many things Alhaitham struggled to understand.
From his focus on linguistics and ancient languages to his almost obsessive pursuit of knowledge in other areas such as physics, he had discovered from a young age that his mind was gifted. No book was too advanced for him. No lecture too complicated or dense. Alhaitham’s life had been overcome with a thirst for knowledge that he had never quite quenched, or perhaps he had never been truly interested in satiating it.
Whatever the reason, the truth remained that Alhaitham had found fewer challenges the more he studied. Be it Kaveh’s emotional outbursts or the inefficiency of his classmates, Alhaitham was unfazed. Keeping to himself was more a second nature than a habit by now—as natural as breathing, as reading.
It allowed him fewer failures. Not that they were ever abundant.
Unless it came to you, that is.
“Struggling?” His voice left him in his usual stoic manner, and yet the flash of anger in your eyes did not go unnoticed. Although subtle, if one were to pay close attention to his face, they’d notice the slight curve on his lips—a smile. “Which book?”
“Shut up.”
An amused chuckle left him at your words whispered in anger. The heat gathered in your cheeks at the sound, shame spreading to your ears and down into your neck and cleavage, hidden from his eyes under the Akademiya’s uniform. His laughter, though short, seemed to anger you even more—Alhaitham had discovered, quite quickly, that any sound coming from him seemed to have that effect. Even when he was merely offering his help to reach the book that you not-so-gracefully had been trying to get for the past ten minutes.
In spite of your mumbled, aggressive words, Alhaitham stretched his arm. His fingers traced the spine of a few books—linguistics in context, a comparison in-depth of language evolution around Teyvat, a compilation of ancient runes—until he finally got to the one he was sure you needed. He plucked it out from the shelf, admiring the familiar cover for a few seconds, before handing it to you.
“I never said I needed this.” You replied stubbornly.
You were always too fast to refuse his help. That was his fault, according to Kaveh, but Alhaitham disagreed. Giving you fake praise on that draft you presented him on your first day of class would have been a disservice to you, and yet you had been far too prideful. Now you avoided his help—him—like the plague.
Alhaitham glanced once toward the table you had been sitting at, an arrangement of old textbooks, reports, and scribbled notes surrounding your space. He turned his eyes to you, a questioning look that told you the answer was obvious. You did need it. You did need the comparative essay on how language had shaped Sumeru’s two faces.
You were, still, too prideful, it seemed.
“You do, actually.” He placed the book on your table, dismissively. “It’s a primary source, shouldn’t you know that?”
A stubborn silence on your part is all he received.
Alhaitham sighed. “It seems I overestimated your common sense. Or lack-there-of.”
He should leave. He knew that—his rationality screamed at him to stop bothering, to take your words at face value, and just leave you alone. But he couldn’t. Whether he relished in provoking you or simply saw you as an enigma that he needed to understand, he couldn’t tell.
“See? You’re an idiot.” You nudged him angrily, ineffectual fists hitting his chest. Some other students had stopped, looking curiously at your exchange—usually, the attention would bother him, but he was too focused on you. On your scrunched-up nose, your furrowed brows, your lips pressed together in a thin, tempting line. “If you’re here just to make fun of me, leave. I’m sure you have far better and more important things to do.”
He sighed, though his lips curved in a subtle smile—he was familiar with facts, concrete information, but you seemed to be too abstract for him to grasp. The only thing Alhaitham knew for sure was that you were a magnet.
And he understood the laws of attraction too well to fight.
more works.

What makes Ryuzo such a tragic character, is that while he does try so hard to save his men, he just trades one tyrant with another. He doesn't want to join Shimura because he and his men will be send out to die (a totally real fear, as we see during the attack on Fort Shimura) and he doesn't trust Jin to go against Shimura (another fair assessment, because Jin is very much gung-ho about rescuing Shimura in Act I), but then Khotun does exactly that: send out Ryuzo to kill Jin die while Khotun flees.
Ryuzo can't make a good choice here, and I think Jin realizes that in the end. Sadly, by then it is too late, and they have both done things to each other that can not be repaired. If their final confrontation had happened AFTER Jin had renounced his Uncle and fully accepted his place as the Ghost, there might have been a reconciliation, but sadly that isn't the case. In fact, I think it was Ryuzo's death that pushed Jin over the edge, especially combined with Shimura asking him to give up Yuna.

The moment I knew nessian was IT for me was the iconic
Cassian!!
Its my favorite moment, it’s so soft and underrated. It’s literally the “you came” “you called”
Nesta not knowing her true feelings about him but knowing enough to be sick to her stomach and screaming his name not knowing if it was in time or not and cassian being there in a second worried like what happened?! What’s wrong?!
Then we got a underrated understanding between nesta and rhysand/ az bc she saved their brothers life
Then even after that comment then we get this the most heart breaking, heart warming, love confession from cassian
I have no regrets in my life, but this. That we did not have time. That I did not have time with you, Nesta. I will find you in the next world - the next life. And we will have that time. I promise.
He’s on his death bed saying that to her. Shes trying to protect him! She’s willing to die with him!! For him! Like ahhhhhhhhh

Y'know, I always headcannoned that Perrserrkers show their affection via biting and hissing. Partially inspired by one cat that I knew that would do the same thing, Perrserrker will bite Rose just for fun or when really happy, the bites don't hurt but it does take others by surprise when handling Rose's Perrserrker (Giovanni certainly was). I also like to think its cuddly, sitting in Rose's lap when ever it feels like it while demanding pets. Just some food for thought :p
OOOHHH SHIT this is so cute and fitting though?!?!?! giovanni complaining to rose about his perrserker biting him and rose is all like "wow she really loves you!!!! :D"
how about perrserker doing the same thing with persian. their way of friendly communication is the complete opposite of one another so persian starts beefing with perrserker and roughhousing her because she hissed at him and attempted to bite him. and perrserker, being entirely oblivious to the behaviour of persians, is overjoyed to make "friends" with him as they butt heads. while persian is genuinely attempting to disembowel perrserker, perrserker thinks they're having a cheeky spar LMAO
i'm kind of into the "savage" + "elegant" dynamic they got going on, i have to admit ...

I love how the moment the eighth episode dropped half of Tumblr went into Saurondriel shock whilst I’m sitting here like:
“He’s lying through his fucking teeth.”
Sure, Sauron probably finds Galadriel beautiful. He is capable of appreciating beauty (he was one of the maiar under Aule after all) and even Melkor knew of truly beautiful things. He stole the Silmarils both because of the absolute havoc the act would cause and because he saw three ridiculously pretty gems and went MINE!
But that doesn’t mean he loves her. Honestly I think the only thing he really ever loved was Melkor (it literally says in the Simarillion that Melkor seduced Mairon to his side, requited or not I think Mairon was a bit smitten. And yes Sauron was also fucking lying about feeling freed from Melkor. Repentent he may have been but I don’t think he was happy about it), if he sees Galadriel as anything its a prize. A something to be treasured and hoarded, something he can use to legitimise his rule, somewhat. She would be his Queen but he is far above being some petty King.
Not that I’m against people shipping Saurondriel. You guys go ballistic. You just have to admit that in the show the guy called The Deceiver, the one who is known for lying and manipulating his way to power, the one who just revealed that he’d been manipulating Galadriel after she gave him the will to rise again, the one who moments before tried to trick her again by disguising himself as her dead brother (the brother he indirectly, or maybe even directly, murdered); that guy is definitely fucking lying.
