My coworker knows about my love of thylacines, and she told me about a sci-fi show on Amazon Prime called “The Peripheral” that has thylacines in it so of course I had to watch. They show up halfway through episode 2.

I was pretty disappointed though, they’re just brindle dogs with CGI faces and they only appear for a few seconds 🥲

Wilf: “Thylacine analogs. Though I believe you might call them something else.”

F: “Tasmanian tigers. I saw them in a show once, but they said that they were extinct.”

Whelp. Now That They've Renewed and Then Cancelled it... The Peripheral is Among the BEST Shows on Amazon Prime IMO...

Yeah. I'm angry. It's cyber-punk with a country twist. Binge the first and now only season, if you get bored. I liked this damn show and it's one of the few that I didn't have major issues with plot/writing-wise.

And this is why I've stopped watching new shows on streaming platforms. They don't invest in them, they don't support them, they shut them down even when they're excellent. Infuriating and hopeless.
