fairy porn crisis
for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt 'bookstore au' wc: 964 rated m cw: dirty talk, implied sexual content tags: bookshop owner eddie, steve is having a sexuality crisis but subtly, flirting, getting together, modern au
📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖
"Thanks for covering for me, Wayne," Eddie said as he set his bag down behind the front desk, slightly out of breath from running from the bus. "Won't happen again."
"'S alright, son. Everything go okay with the counselor?" Wayne sipped from his mug, probably his fourth or fifth cup of coffee since he opened the shop that morning.
"Yep. Still on track to graduate in May."
Wayne's stipulation when he "sold" the bookshop to Eddie was that he still get his degree as backup. "Bookselling is a dangerous game and I won't have ya strugglin' if somethin' fails."
"Thatta boy," Wayne clapped him on the shoulder. "Been a slow morning. But your favorite customer is in the back."
Eddie felt his face heat up.
"He's not my favorite."
"Sure he isn't." Wayne rolled his eyes. "I'm off to get a beer with Dave. Call if you need me."
Eddie gave him a thumbs up as he checked over his emails, the one thing Wayne was terrible about doing when he was covering the store. There weren't many, never really were on Tuesdays.
He waited for Wayne to leave, the door chiming with his exit.
He jumped up and made his way around the counter, walking towards the back room hastily.
He found Steve sitting on the beanbag placed in the corner, book in his lap, face bright red.
Eddie squinted until he could see what book he was reading and nearly passed out.
His Ring was the first book in a series focused entirely on a group of queer mythical creatures. It was the only book of the series Eddie had read, and he'd only admit it under risk of death.
It wasn't that it wasn't good. It's just that it was basically porn.
And this one in particular focused on two male fairies, one who was gay and one who spent the entire first half of the book having a bisexuality crisis.
Steve was reading it with the prettiest blush on his face.
Steve, who up until this moment, passed as the straightest human being Eddie had ever met.
"Have you gotten to the part where Ereldi has to sit on Brelend's lap for an entire dinner?" Eddie asked.
Steve jumped and slammed the book closed, pushing it under his legs as if Eddie hadn't already called him out. "What are you talking about?"
"Stevie, I'm the last person to judge your reading habits. But I do have to ask why the sudden interest in queer fairy porn? You're usually reading sports memoirs and doing word searches."
In other words, 'are you interested in testing out your sexuality with me? I can pretend to be a mythical being if needed.'
"Just needed a change of scenery?"
"Are you asking me or telling me?"
Steve's blush deepened, and fuck, Eddie was about to be so unprofessional. Hopefully he wouldn't lose a customer over it, but it was a risk he had to take.
It's just that sometimes Eddie could swear Steve was watching him while he shelved books or swept the front room floors. And sometimes he caught him staring at him during his weekly storytime for kids where he gave out free books and cookies.
And Eddie always wanted to have Steve in his lap.
So.
"I." Steve refused to make eye contact, a sure sign that something was going on. "I just got curious. Heard someone talking about it and wanted to see if they were telling the truth."
"And were they?"
Steve didn't answer, so Eddie decided it was now or never.
"You know," he took a few steps closer to Steve. "I'm not usually one for those books. But there's something about the way they paint a very clear picture of how Ereldi rides Brelend in the forest that just draws me in." Another few steps. "Actually, Ereldi reminds me a bit of you."
Steve visibly gulped.
"But you wouldn't be interested in riding someone would you, Stevie? Prefer women to hop onto your lap and go for a ride?" Eddie's heart was racing.
And then it stopped completely when Steve gave the most unexpected answer he could have possibly given.
"I'd be interested in riding you."
Steve's wide eyes stared back at Eddie, daring him to make a joke, daring him to laugh.
Eddie wouldn't joke or laugh about this. He wasn't wasting this chance.
"Is the forest a requirement or could I go lock the front door and take you upstairs?"
Okay, so he couldn't not make a little joke.
"Forest sounds messy. Upstairs."
"Oh, I plan to make a mess of you regardless of location, sweetheart," Eddie leaned over Steve, foreheads touching, smirk growing as Steve's eyes closed. "Won't even have to get you hard, huh? The book did all the work for me."
Steve tilted his head back, lips puckering, searching for contact from Eddie's.
Eddie pulled away. "I close up in ten. You know the way upstairs?"
Steve's eyes blinked open as he nodded.
God, he was gonna be fun.
"You wanna be a good boy and wait for me up there?" Steve nodded and stood from the chair, wobbling slightly as he tried to gain his balance. "I want you naked in bed when I get up there, got it?"
"Um, I've never-" Steve started.
"Oh, sweetheart. I know. It's written all over you. I'm gonna take real good care of you, though. Better than anything you would read in that book."
"Eddie?"
"Yeah, sugar?"
"I really like you."
Eddie heard what he wasn't saying, knew without a doubt that he had to do this right or risk scaring him away from more than just the store.
"I really like you, too, Stevie." Eddie kissed his cheek. "You're in good hands."
"I know."

symbiote König x reader
I'm not allowed to start any new aus/stories until I finish a few, but I need to expel these worms from my brain. (also remind me to write something about Eddie Brock/Symbiote Ghoap x reader later)
I don't know if you guys know much about Venom lore, but symbiotes don't have a default system of morality: they take on the same traits and moral values as their hosts. They were created as a sort of world-conquering mindless evil force, but when symbiotes bonded to hosts who wanted to do good, they took on those moralities and became ashamed of their purpose. After they imprisoned the dude who made them to be evil (Knull, btw) they just made up a lie that their species was naturally benevolent.
So picture this: symbiote König who's been captured alongside several others of his kind and brought to Earth by the Life Foundation to study their abilities. I like the idea of symbiote König being similar to Eddie Brock's Venom: he's had bad and good hosts, but the bad ones fucked him up really bad, so now he's the König we know: arrogant and confident in his proficiency in violence, but deeply awkward, lonely, and lost. Getting kidnapped and taken to yet another foreign planet to be poked and prodded and experimented on is just his luck.
But then there's you. A pretty little scientist, not much more than a lab assistant, really. Your first encounter with him consists of you touching a finger to the glass of his prison, and him, curious, moving himself to press his inky dark goop where your skin presses against the glass. You giggle before quickly remembering yourself and skittering away. Symbiotes aren't fond of sounds, but he wouldn't mind hearing that one again...
It's little encounters like that that endears you to him. It didn't take him long to decide he hated humans: they're slow and unintelligent and nowhere near as elegant of a killer as he is, and yet they've managed to trap him and torment him. He's quickly noted as being the most unpredictable and violent of the captured symbiotes. But he likes you, who visits him and talks to him. To you, it doesn't mean much: you may as well be talking to a lab rat, finding an outlet to vent your frustrations about your insane work hours, demanding managers, and meagre pay. To him, he's absorbing everything you tell him, longing to touch you without glass in the way. What would it be like to bond with you, he wonders? To merge symbiote with flesh, and become two moving as one?
He'd like to be inside you, in more ways than one perhaps.
He may have fucked that up, though. It wasn't his fault, that day. They were starving him, these idiotic humans, starving all of them. He had no choice but to eviscerate and wholly consume the poor man sent into his glass cage. But you had been watching, eyes wide in terror, as blood and viscera burst everywhere. If he had a heart, it would have ached as he watched you skitter away...
And yet...there may be something deeply wrong with you, just as there is something wrong with him. Because you're back the next day, a new fascination in your eyes. Instead of talking at him, you talk to him now, asking him questions he only wishes he could answer. If he could just reach you, he could communicate...
König gets his wish the day it all goes awry. A whistleblower breaks in and makes off with one of his breathren, and the next person to stumble upon the scene is his little scientist, who doesn't hesitate to start smashing the glass of his prison. "It's not right," you mutter over and over again. "It's not right..."
He can detect your heartbeat speeding up as he drags himself across the floor to reach you. You shy away out of instinct, and he pauses. There are alarms ringing out now, awful terrible loud sounds, and he would prefer to get out of here immediately, but he refuses to do anything that would drive you away for good. He watches as you heave a deep shaky breath, then reach out a hand to him.
He glides up your hand and wrist, working his way into your body, the symbiosis instant and easy. You're a perfect match. He knew you would be. The armed guards burst through the door, but you have nothing to worry about as he envelops your body. You become a six foot ten behemoth, face hidden by what almost looks like a veil—something he picked up from a former host. You're barely aware of what's happening, too overwhelmed and confused to parse what's going on. But he knows what he's doing.
After he gets you to safety, the two of you will have all the time in the world to get to know each other.

I Will Not Keep My Mouth Shut About this High School Romance Between Eddie Munson x Reader (Headcanons)
Tumblr media
Why lord? Why are we not talking about this?
I’ve dated metalhead guys in the past, and believe in me when I say these fuckers move fast.
Eddie is no exception to this rule. He loves hard and quickly, especially if you’re into the same things he’s into as well.
I’m talking balls to the wall insanity like: the day won’t even be over and he’ll have already asked you out, kissed you, offered you weed, and secretly be planning the names of the four kids he wants with you.
Mans is delulu as fuck for you.
As much as he has his passions there’s just something about the fact that you actually gave the town freak unconditional love that makes him desperate. Corroded Coffin, Hellfire Club, he’d pick you over them any day if it meant he got to keep you.
Guarantee, you’ll already have gone all the way before the weekend is up of that first week of the relationship.
Cherry boy cherry boy cherry boy.
But he knows what he’s doing. It will have been awkward but the best part is now “Rainbow in the Dark” makes you feel all hot under the collar and “Shame on the Night” makes you laugh and reminds you of the awkward panic cleaning up after.
The epitome of live fast die young. He will throw his life away if you ask him to, so make sure you use your powers wisely.
At some point Eddie will ask you to run away with him. He doesn’t give a shit where, so long as it’s with you.
Shared interests are probably how the two of you met in the first place, especially if you’re like me and unable to beat the weird kid allegations. You drifted towards his club because you for whatever reason were an outcast too.
Eddie would probably crush on those who are conventionally pretty, popular, the epitome of the 80’s beauty standards. That’s just human nature. But with you… it’s so much more different.
You’re like his nerdy fantasies come to life, like the princesses he writes about in his campaigns that are a mix of dark, dangerous, able to hold their own and fight for him and with him. Think of if you will a sexy bombshell rotoscoped into those old metal music videos. Facing the world wearing only red lipstick and a cocksure expression.
He would get along so well with someone who wasn’t afraid to let their wild side show, or to express it. But at the same time if you’re more shy and reserved, he is determined to help you come out of that shell and be the best possible version of yourself.
It’s impossible not to match his excitable energy, it’s just so goddamn contagious. It might scare you how far you’re willing to go for Eddie and how quickly you might find yourself changing. Because believe me, you will change, and it will be for the better.
Eddie will always be your number one hype man.
He will literally be so excited about everything you do because it’s you! The person he loves more than anyone in this whole entire world.
Eddie will literally put up with so much for you. Even if you guys fight he will struggle to maintain his composure because he does not want to fuck this beautiful thing up.
Drives himself up the wall with anxiety about it too. But that’s the thing about Eddie’s dynamic with you: is that he will do what it takes to keep his fucking cool around you.
Your fights are infrequent but can get explosive if there are unsaid insecurities. So to avoid this: keep honest with him. About everything. Don’t lie to him, because as fast as he fell for you, lying is the quickest way to break his trust and send him packing.
One of his flaws in the relationship is that his insecurity that this will all go away will make him all that more prepared to leave if you have a massive blow up fight.
Like he’s already preplanned his exit strategy and everything.
But the longer you’re together, the more comfortable he gets and eventually he settles down from jumping the gun into taking things one day at a time.
He’s a fucking keeper. And all I’m gonna say is you better start training with swinging a blunt weapon because once you have him, you’re going to be right there in the Upside Down fucking up some monsters keeping them away from your man.

Eddie was dealing with a lot of firsts today.
The biggest one being the first time he was getting married. Though, Eddie really hoped it wouldn’t be the last. If his fantasies about this day came true he was going to have to insist on a vow renewal somewhere down the line. Fuck it, if even a quarter of what he wanted came through he’d still insist on it. He was never not going to like showing Steve off, and this was the most ostentatious way he could get away with.
Next, and most distressing, this was the first time Eddie had ever felt the lethal mixture of being incredibly happy and horrifyingly nauseous. He had no idea that a person could feel both things at once, and Eddie was starting to think the ability was just a flaw of the human condition.
And last, he is a 100 percent sure he had never been this damn nervous in his entire life. Especially when the source of it was entirely self-made. It was an uncomfortable reminder of how he used to feel with Steve, back when he decided to be a fucking crazy person.
But this was so much worse.
“You really need to relax,” Chrissy said for the hundredth time, watching as Eddie fiddled in front of the mirror, “That anti-perspirant can only go so far.”
“I know,” Eddie sighed. He was on one today, he knew that. But knowing it wasn’t stopping any of his anxiety. Eddie was trying to fix his hair in the mirror, suddenly unpleased with how it was styled but unwilling to go bother the stylist that did it. She was busy enough with everyone else, let alone the fact that he didn’t even know why he didn’t like it. If anything he was just making it worse. But then again, Steve always said he liked his hair wild, right?
“Hon, I’m serious,” Chrissy sighed, grabbing for his hand to drag him away, “You are driving yourself crazy for nothing. Everything is going to be okay. He’s going to be there. Are you forgetting that it was Steve who asked you to marry him?”
Eddie couldn’t help but smile at the memory, even now. The little shit had beaten him to the punch by a matter of days, completely ruining Eddie’s elaborate proposal plans. No, instead Steve decided to do it in the dead of night, getting down on one knee in the middle of their living room after getting destroyed at an impromptu game of scrabble.
Eddie should have seen it coming, he really should have. But he had been so caught up trying to plan his own proposal he had completely missed the signs. Like how Steve kept picking movies that involved proposals and weddings, and how he was always very interested in what Eddie thought of them. Eddie just hadn’t realized how many notes he’d been taking around his innocuous comments. Not until Steve showed him the scrawled out list he had made down the line:
Not public, he said he wouldn’t want to cry in front of a bunch of strangers. Not again (whoops, sorry babe but at least this one would have been happy tears?)
Close to a bed or a bed-like surface for “celebrating” (I should have seen that one coming)
Diamonds are apparently ~stupid~ so look at colored stones instead (maybe emerald for his birthstone? Stick with sliver tones.)
No where cold so he can focus on the moment instead of freezing
Make it a surprise (But not outside? I don’t want to wait till summer though. Maybe I can do it randomly? Like when his back is turned?)
Write. A. Speech.
Eddie had to give it to him, his notes weren’t in vain. It had been amazing. Tailor-made to him in a way he didn’t even fully get until it was over. Because he had started crying, right in the middle of their living room with no one but Steve to see him. And it had felt so fucking safe. There was no embarrassment, no worrying over someone he didn’t know taking their moment to share with more strangers, none of it. It was just them.
He had fucking loved the ring, the colors, the style, all of it fit him perfectly. The only thing he loved more had been dragging Steve straight to their bedroom spoil him rotten for hours. The speech had been beautiful, for what he had managed to hear through his own excitement and tears. He had ended up asking Steve to write it down for him considering how he couldn’t trust his own memory. Now it sat on a cute index card he kept in his wallet, right alongside his cute scrawled out list, a constant reminder that Steve Harrington wanted him.
It had been perfect. Almost too perfect. Perfect enough for Eddie to be where he was right now, the doubt of how he ended up with Mr. Perfect.

Sea Storm
written for @steddiemicrofic (prompt: Top, wc: 510) and STWG Daily Drabble (prompt: Mermay) rated: T TW: no one
When Eddie asked the wizard of the sea to transform him into a human he thought he knew what he was asking for. In reality, he didn't.
He exchanged his voice for a pair of legs, renounced seeing his uncle Wayne anymore and now he can’t touch the water if he doesn’t want to be turned back in a merman. Still, the man who he did all of this for isn’t considering him.
Yeah, Steve took him to his castle, fed him, but that’s all.
Every time Eddie tries to spend some time with him, someone drags him away. And it would almost be funny if it wasn’t for the fact that Eddie needs a kiss: the sea wizard gave him three days, and two of them are already gone.
If only Eddie had his voice, he could talk to Steve, telling him it was him who saved him from the storm weeks ago. But he can’t. So he sighs, sitting on a rock, waving at the two boys that are playing on the beach. At Eddie’s side, hidden between the rocks, his crab friend reminds him that making a pact with a sea wizard it's dangerous.
As if Eddie had ever had any other chance.
Steve kneels on the ground and grabs a few colored pieces of glass that shine in his hand when he turns toward Eddie to show him his treasure.
The sad smile Eddie gives him it’s not enough, so Steve steps closer to Eddie asking him what’s wrong.
At that moment big black clouds appear from nowhere and the waves start to get bigger and bigger.
Steve turns toward Dustin, who is on top of a big rock, just a moment before a huge wave crashes and drags him away.
Steve yells, running toward the rocks, and jumps in the water, screaming his brother’s name.
From the shore, Eddie freezes. His eyes wide with terror while the waves get bigger and bigger. He glares at the waves’ white foam and then steps into the water.
“Go back to the shore!” He orders Steve when he gets to him, ignoring his questions about his magically regained voice, “I’ll find the kid. I promise.” He assures him, and then he dives into the water splashing Steve with his red tail.
Eddie finds Dustin unconscious and brings him back to the surface where Steve is still waiting for them. He takes his brother out of the water and starts to breathe into his mouth until the boy wakes up coughing.
Once Steve is sure that Dustin is ok, he turns toward Eddie who is hiding behind a rock.
“You talk!” He exclaims, and Eddie nods quietly, “Good. Because you have to explain so many things to me.”
“Aren’t you horrified?” Eddie asks, hiding half of his body behind the rocks.
“Horrified at the person who saved both me and my brother? No. I’m grateful. And maybe even a little bit in love.” Steve declares, stepping in the water before cupping Eddie’s face and kissing him under the rain.

Steve wasn't born, he was made. The perfect son, wished into existence by his parents. They gave him so much, trying to get him just right. He was made to be perfect after all. They had to make sure they avoided any flaws.
But they didn't understand that their wishes for him were constantly contradicting. They didn't understand that the Gods aren't kind.
They wanted a son who is smart, but obedient. They wanted a son who can take care of himself, but won't ask questions. They wanted a son who puts them first, but is ambitious. They wanted a son who is good, but will lie for them.
So the Gods carved him out of marble. They filled him with light and love. They made him perceptive and gave him one last warning; humans aren't always nice and they will hurt you.
Steve quickly learnt that they were right. He learnt that questions are met with pain, that anything but perfection is met with punishment. He learnt that his love is met with abandonment.
He learnt the hard way. He learnt slowly.
When enough time had finally passed that they could send him out into the world, Steve floundered. He'd been locked away in the cold Harrington house for so long, with nothing but the cruelty of his parents, that he didn't understand how to... be. And the kids in high school were just as cruel.
He wanted to fit in. He wanted to be loved. He wanted the pain to stop. He wanted to be the one in control for once.
So, when Tommy Hagan invited him into his little circle? Steve jumped at the chance. He clung to the boy like a lifeline, not bothering to question him. He kept Steve afloat, made him popular and loved. He gave Steve what he needed.
But then he met Nancy. Then he got in a 'fight' with Byers. Then he met his first monster.
And it was easy. Hold a hand to his cheek until he can find make up, wince like the punches hurt and keep his head down. No one looked too close. No one noticed that he wasn't really bruised. Not even Byers, who nearly broke his hand on Steves face.
The second time was easier. The third time too. He hated how easy it was, how good he is at lying. He hates how naturally it comes to him, even if it does help him. It just reminds him; he was made for this.
But then, finally, he meets someone who doesn't believe him. He meets someone who sees through the bullshit. He meets someone curious enough to look at him.
Eddie Munson is fascinated by Steve. He always has been but after the Vecna mess, it becomes something of an obsession.
Steve encourages it.
He knows he shouldn't. He knows that it wouldn't be good if people found him out... but he wanted Eddie to know. He wanted Eddie to see him. He wanted to tell the truth. He wanted to be a good person.
"You're a liar," Eddie finally says, pointing at Steve. He's relaxed, lounging on the Byers couch. He smirks when he notices everyone giving him dirty looks. "What? None of you are curious?"
"About what?" Robin asks. She glances between the two of them, curiosity peaked. "What's he lying about?"
"I don't know. Everything?" Eddie shrugs. His eyes are locked on Steve. "He doesn't bleed."
Most people laugh, turning away, dismissing the conversation. Eddie jokes around, is dramatic so often, that it's easy to see this as another play at circus leader.
"No, that..." Jonathan frowns. "What do you mean?"
"That bottle. Didn't leave a scratch."
"You didn't really try to hurt me," Steve lies. But he remembers how the sharp edge had felt against his skin, remembers the shiver of fear he'd felt when he realized that anyone else would be bleeding.
Eddies eyes narrow.
Everyone knows that Eddie is soft hearted now. Everyone knows how unwilling he is to hurt anyone. No one doubts Steve. Even Robin, Dustin and Max, who had seen how terrified he had been that night.
Steve keeps glancing at Eddie the rest of the night. He's not surprised to find him already looking. He is surprised that he doesn't try again. He's not usually deterred so easily.
He isn't, as it turns out. He uses the two beers Steve has as an excuse to drive him home. No one lets Steve try to wriggle out of it, insisting that Eddie is right, it's better to stay safe. Joyce promises to drive his car back in the morning.
Eddie gives him a smug grin when he holds the door open, so he can follow Steve inside. They hover in the living room for a moment.
"Why doesn't anyone know?" Eddie finally asks. "Why don't you tell them?"
Steve debates lying again. He knows Eddie won't believe him though, there's no point. So he shrugs. "I don't know."
"But there is something? I'm not just... losing my mind, right?"
"Yeah, um... it's just- it's hard to believe."
"We've been to an alternate dimension where bat things were going to eat you. We're past that shit."
Steve raises an eyebrow, lets the pause drag out for a moment. "Alright. I'm not human. I wasn't born. I'm marble."
Eddie blinks at him. "Marble."
Steve tugs his top up so his stomach is showing, pointing at his sides. "The bats did try to eat me."
"Jesus Christ," Eddie whispers. He reaches out like he can't help himself, fingers tracing the cracks in his skin. "Jesus- you're marble."
"Yeah. Wild, right?"
"Wild," Eddie echoes, his laugh high pitched and a little hysterical. "How the fuck... what made you?"
"I don't know. My parents always said that it was the work of the Gods, that they'd wished for perfection and got me instead. I kinda... remember, a little. It's weird."
Eddie shifts closer, hands shifting from the cracks to hold his side. "You remember being made?"
"Only a little. Like, uh... they had a little trouble getting my hands right. It's mostly a blur."
"Did it hurt?"
"No? If it did, I don't remember." Steve shifts, struggling to read Eddie with how blank his expression is. "You, uh... I mean... this isn't too weird, is it?"
"Oh, it definitely is," but Eddie grins. He looks excited. "This is so much weirder than the Upside Down stuff. Miles more. Fuck. Can I touch you? More than this, I mean. Is that making it more weird?"
"N-no, um, that's fine."
He's gentle with his exploration, careful and specific with where he touches. He touches his hands, his fingers, feeling the grooves and details. His worn down fingertips, the details slowly smoothing out. He touches his arms, testing the give and the cold, solid stone of his elbows.
He hesitates before touching his chest, lingering on his chest hair. His eyes widen a little when he realizes that, those too, are marble.
Then, he raises his hand to Steves face. He cups Steves cheek, thumb rubbing his cheekbone almost reverently. He looks fascinated. Especially when Steve blushes, shifting his hand out of the way, fingers tracing the warmth.
"You're so..." Eddie whispers, frowning as he struggles for the word.
His hand keeps straying, thumb tracing the skin bellow his bottom lip, tugging down slightly, gentle. Just enough to part his lips.
"Perfect?" Steve offers, keeping his voice hushed so he doesn't break whatever moment they're having.
But Eddie shakes his head, finally meeting Steves eyes. "Human."
He looks at Steve with love. His fingers are still on his face, he can feel the marble, can feel that he isn't. He looks at Steve with the same curiosity, the same desire, that he always has.
"Eddie..." Steve whispers. There's too many emotions, too strong, so unfamiliar. It feels like it's trying to find a way out of him, bloating him with emotions. He wonders if this is what people usually feel like.
"Steve?"
"Kiss me."
Eddies smile is so soft, so gentle. His kiss matches it, so soft and slow and gentle. Loving. His other hand comes up, cupping Steves face like he's something precious. Like he's delicate.
He doesn't learn his last thing about people that day, but it feels like the most important.
Sometimes, humans are nice. And they do love him.

Thoughts on the welcome home update because YES. Spoilers below the cut.
That sleep aid pill is called remderem which is almost "remember" but the d would be backwards, and its also almost "murder me" while missing the u. Is this anything? I don't know. Im always looking for names of things in args.
We have seen through two puppets eyes. First it was Wally and his discomfort and/or dissociation, and now it's Eddie's discomfort and/or dissociation. Which is fun because we've heard that Eddie would do crafts for the show and you'd just see his hands so that was a fun touch.
First iteration of the website we had mail letters (Eddie) giving us clues. Second iteration had bugs (Frank?) and active drawings (Wally?) giving us clues. Now we have symbols giving us clues and they remind me of stickers a little bit so possibly a connection to Sally? Who else would give the tiny pictures? Questions questions.
At the end of that commercial before his existential crisis, they say Eddie has been invited and they did his job for him so he could rest. Eddie does not seem happy about them doing his job for him instead of letting him do it himself. I am reminded of how clumsy with the mail he seems to be sometimes and how much work they make him do in the other audio clips. I wonder if he is feeling extremely overwhelmed but also unappreciated and that they can do all this work to help and choose not to most days? Sally insists it was easy to do and Eddie does not sound pleased.
One thing i can't stop thinking about and i have to go back and really re-watch the commercials closely, is Poppy. When they invite Eddie to the party they say everyone is there but there's no Poppy in the picture? And earlier they poured gravy on an ornament that, to me, looked very oddly shaped and almost like meat, and we hear Poppy, but we don't see her. So... a pea on a plate..... "P" on a plate? My brain could be misconstruing but did they eat Poppy and is that what he's actually seeing and is that why it's all red? I'd he seeing the reality beyond the mask? Is it more than a pea?
Eddie says "where?" In his crisis as a response to Frank calling his name. People are talking about this as if he doesn't know where he is. I agree this is a likely idea but what if he's asking where Poppy is? Do we ever actually see her in any of the videos or do we just hear her?
Wally has feelings a lot which is good to confirm he has feelings! Eddie also said he would be happy with an apple every single day and my he is an innocentbautism creature wally agenda is flourishing.
The amount if commercials has me fascinated because people used to do that for TV shows (still do but those earlier type ones welcome home is referencing is spot on) commercials for basically everything is accurate and what is funny is the accuracy of what each person is selling. Howdy with the cigarette commercial- he takes every opportunity to sell you something no matter what even if it's not good for you. Sleepy looking Wally selling you sleeping pills happy with the thought of the dream.
Wally being nervous about getting the holiday correct. Is it because he's never done it or ia Home going to hurt him?
Did home hurt Eddie because he was upset during the party? It sure fucking looks like it with home watching him so intensely. Does the chair have something to do with it?
Eddie's scribbled writing reminds me of the people trying to decipher the code on the safe.
On the secret pages it's signed "-W." But it talks as if it's a human person who watched the show and is working either the WHRP team. It also talks too grown up to be wally. Who is this?? Is it the same person from the terrified scribbles of the hidden page previously? It seems maybe so because of referencing needing the cleanup.

assigning the characters from 9-1-1 my tattoos—
buck: the sexy little strawberry in cowboy boots on my bicep aka the only tattoo that’s usually not visible. it’s a tattoo just for him, it’s inspired by drag queens and queer culture and it’s also just a little fun and silly. he definitely got it a little while after coming out as bisexual. this was a very cathartic tattoo for buck, he definitely had got it with eddie at the appointment with him.
eddie: the word “human” tattoo above the crease of my elbow. this tattoo has a lot of personal meaning I won’t go into but for eddie, I could see it have a very strong meaning too. no matter the fuck ups, no matter the jobs, he’s human. he’s just human and that’s more than enough. frank was very supportive of the tattoo after he showed up with in one session.
chim: the eyeball in a candy wrapper aka “eye candy” just below crease of my elbow. it’s absolutely a pun and a silly tattoo for him.
maddie: the stages of growth of a pumpkin (from seed to sprout to full grown pumpkin) on the back of my arm. for her, to would be able her growth as a wife, an ex-wife, a mother, and a remarried woman, and mostly importantly, her growth as herself.
hen: the fern tattoo on my side of my hand and up onto my thumb (though I could also give it to buck since oliver has a very similar tattoo on his arm) now, there isn’t much meaning in this tattoo for myself personally but for hen, it’s her reminder and connection to the world. that no matter how bad or scary a job gets and it feels like the calamity is all she can focus on. she is still carrying that bit of nature and the real world with her.
bobby: the three eyes on my upper arm, to bobby it would represent the three kids in his life; may, harry and buck. and in the third eye, there are three pupils to represent his two lost children and his passed wife. this was an emotional tattoo for bobby to get, and he cried explaining it to buck who went with him for emotional support to his tattoo appointment.
athena: the ferns, mushrooms and buttercups on my forearm. now to me this tattoo represents my childhood and now adulthood through the plants from my favourite video games in both stages of my life. i could see athena assigns different plants to the stages of her life like pre-motherhood, motherhood and even to bobby and michael and even emmett.
(the only other tattoo i have that i can’t think to assign a character to is the tooth tattoo on my upper arm. there’s no real meaning to it but i love it so much yknow.)

okay, so a couple of days ago i saw on the clock app this video of a jock and a obviously queer man living together and my brain went STEVE AND EDDIE OMG I NEED A FIC OF THIS and i know there is somewhere in the internet but i need to put into words so here it goes:
Robin loves Steve. And Steve loves Robin. They have been attatched to the hip since the mysterious accident that have burned the gigantic new mall and, subsocuently, the ice cream shop where they used to work. They have been living together since before Robin went to a college out of the little town they used to live (we all know Steve's parents were shit and probably being a teenager living alone, Robin's parents practically adopted him) and Steve without anything holding him back followed her.
Now, a couple years later, partners and one-night-stands came and went from their apartment because you cannot convince me those two dont have some kind of rizz. Steve with his bitchy attitude and jock alike body and Robin with her nerdy and charismatic energy have definetly bagged some people. One of them being the now-and-Robin-hope-for-a-very-long-time Robin's new girlfriend who the last two months has been living with them. And for sometime it was good, great even, but feeling like a third wheel most of the time Steve decided to move.
Apartment hunting was hard. Most places were way out of his budget or too small for a human to actually live comfortable and host dinners like he used to do when the now-not-so-kids visited him on the summer. So, he decided to search for a roomate. It was a little bit easier but to find someone who wasnt crazy and actually just mind their bussiness was a full job.
That's how he met Eddie. A nerdy metalhead who can and will up his bitchy attitude with a flirtatious response. And Steve absolutely loves it. At the beggining he tries so hard to convince himself that is just because he reminds him of Robin. That is just because both of them are a little bit smaller than him and nerdy. That is just because of the manerisms and the way they dont even flinch at his sarcastic and mean-girl-type of comments. That is just because both of them talked with passion about what they had been invested in the last couple of days.
But then is also the way Eddie always dress to impress and has a varierity of responses (and even actions) when people call him slurs without even letting those comments affect him.
And the way his eyes glows and do a little dance when he finally got one bridge right on a really difficult song that has been practicing the last couple of weeks.
And the way that he isnt a morning person but still wakes up earlier than Steve to make breakfast because he has learn that Steve bearly takes care of himself without a pressure of someone being dissapointed of him.
And the way both (Steve and Eddie) are on the couch on a Saturday evening watching nothing on the TV when Eddie starts talking his thoughts out. And of course, Steve being Steve cant help but tease him about something he said wrong and then it started: a back and forth of teasing and getting close as trying to prove a point. And when both are a hand away of breathing the same air, Steve realized. And Eddie purposly looked at Steve lips and get just a molecule closer just to see how Steve gets all red and backs down, of course Eddie laughs teasingly and walks to his room for a dictionary, leaving Steve all confused about wtf has happened. But Eddie's laugh continues to live on his ears and oh the way Eddie laughs.
Steve is pretty sure he is fucked up when he realized that he would do anything to make him laugh. And then Steve is also pretty sure that the friendship he has with Robin is one thing and the thing he has (or hope he has) with Eddie is another.
But that is one thought for another time, one existential crisis at the time, please.

tw: mentions of death
Eddie will forever be grateful that he got a second chance but now he's starting to feel the consequences of his immortality.
Steve's old enough to be his dad now. His hair is almost completely grey at 45; he says the stress of babysitting 6 kids really sped up the process. Eddie still thinks he's the most beautiful person alive, he's aging like fine wine right before his eyes and he's so glad that he gets to spend every second of his immortal life with Steve.
He just wished they'd grow old together.
Dustin's kids think it's weird that their dad is friends with someone who's only just 'freshly 21' but Eddie thinks it's weird that they've never questioned why the man they've known since they were infants hasn't aged a day. He's starting to realise that children are very oblivious, especially if you bring gifts everytime you visit.
He still DMs for the party except now their children join in too. They like to remind Eddie that his rules are very outdated. He gets a disappointed frown from one of his friends when he kills their kid's character just because they annoyed him.
He thought explaining his eternal youth to his friend's kids was going to be the hardest part but he was wrong.
The hardest part was watching all his friends die.
It never got easier. He held their hands, whispered words of comfort as he listened to their hearts slowly stop. He cursed his abilities in these moments; wished he couldn't smell the illness in their blood and hear their hearts get weaker and weaker as they grew older.
Steve went sooner than he expected.
It came on so suddenly, he had no time to prepare himself, no time to figure out a way to go with him.
"See the world for me." Steve whispers to him. He's smiling, he's fucking dying and he has the audacity to smile at Eddie.
"I don't want to live in a world without you." Eddie's voice cracks and he scoots his chair closer so that he can gently rest his head on Steve's stomach. Steve weakly plays with his hair, that stupid smile still on his face.
"Always so dramatic." Steve traces Eddie's face, runs his fingers over his eyes, his nose, his lips, the scar on the side of his face from the bats; something that feels like a lifetime ago. "I love you, Eds, I won't be mad if you find someone else. Just make sure you visit and tell me about them." Eddie's sobbing now, his body shaking as he cries and grips Steve's hand tighter. He can hear it. He can fucking hear his heart slow. It's a sound he'll never be able to forget.
"My heart belongs to you... in this life.. and the next." And then he's gone.
Eddie's ears ring and he knows he's causing a scene, knows that screaming Steve's name won't magically drag him back from whatever place he's gone to, but he can't stop. He has to be forcefully dragged out of the room which is a struggle because Eddie is stronger than the average human.
He hates the silence, hates that he'll never hear the calming, steady beat of his lovers heart. He doesn't sleep for weeks, it feels wrong to sleep in their bed without Steve. He doesn't eat, can't even bring himself to open the fridge and drink the last bit of blood Steve had put aside for him.
It gets to a point where Dustin's oldest kid, Julie, comes to visit and finds him curled up on the floor, hunger so bad he's unable to move, to speak.
"Steve wouldn't want this." She chides and force feeds him the blood from the fridge. He doesn't know when Dustin told her about him, doesn't really care at that point. All he can do is sob weakly as Steve's blood fills his mouth and brings him back from the edge. "Come on. We're going to visit dad."
Dustin's in a retirement home now.
He'd gone downhill after his wife died and the kids had their own lives, they didn't have time to look after him 24/7. Eddie would have taken him in if he'd known, but he's been in a state of limbo for 2 months now. He'd collapsed on the kitchen floor a week ago and would have stayed there if Julie hadn't shown up, his body can withstand neglect a lot better than he thought.
He's missed Robin's 70th birthday.
He's missed the birth of Mike and El's 4th grand kid.
He's missed the release of Will's final book in his series.
He's missed so much life while mourning Steve. He didn't realise so much could happen in just 2 months.
"Hey, dad, I've brought a visitor." Julie says softly, making sure not to startle Dustin. He's sitting on the small lounge next to the window, an old fantasy book in his hands, and seeing him sit there brings back memories of when they were younger. When Dustin used to come by Steve's house just to be near Eddie, to remind himself that Eddie was okay. They'd sit in the bay window in Steve's lounge room and read together for hours. Steve would walk by and flick the lamp on for them because they wouldn't even notice that the sun had set.
He can still see that little kid in the old man in front of him, he's hidden under the wrinkles and grey hair, but when his eyes light up and his smile takes over his face, Eddie sees the kid that he risked his life for. "Eddie!"
Julie leaves them to talk, says that she'll grab them all a cup of coffee. Eddie declines. He hasn't been able to drink coffee since Steve died. It reminds him too much of waking up to quiet humming from the kitchen and coffee flavoured kisses.
Dustin scolds Eddie for neglecting himself, for not calling him or coming to see him so that they could mourn together. It feels strange to be scolded by someone that you used to babysit.
"He told me to move on." Eddie says quietly, bitterly. "But I don't think I'll ever be able to forget him."
"You don't have to forget him." Dustin scoots closer to Eddie on the cramped lounge and makes him look him in the eyes. "You're going to be around for a long time, Eds. You can't be that stereotypical vampire that mourns his long lost love for centuries."
"Maybe I want to."
"Steve would strangle me when I see him next if I let you do that."
When I see him next.
That makes Eddie ache. Will he ever get to see Steve again? Can he even die? He doesn't want Dustin to leave him too but he knows Steve is probably lonely wherever he is. He never liked being on his own for very long.
Eddie leans against his friend's shoulder and sighs shakily. He doesn't want to cry again. He's tired of crying. "I feel hollow, Dustin. I think Steve took a part of me with him."
"He was always quite greedy when it came to you."
Eddie smiles for the first time in 2 months. "He was, wasn't he. He always stole your time with me." He playfully jabbed Dustin in the side and it felt good to laugh with him, to smile and see the familiar twinkle of joy in his friend's eyes.
When they stop laughing and the room fills with a comfortable silence, Eddie asks quietly, "Do you really think you'll see him again?"
Dustin hums and leans back into the lounge, a knowing smile on his lips. "You'll see him again, Eddie. I know it."
Eddie scoffs with a smile. "Why? Because you're old and wise?"
"Precisely."
Eddie knows Dustin is just saying what he wants to hear, what he thinks he needs to move on with his life, but a small part of himself hopes it's true.
He hopes that after he's seen the world, he'll be able to tell Steve all about it.

My Headcannons for how Infected and Kasper operate
Buckle up, this is a long post. Thinking about how characters function in relation to the world around them is basically a hobby of mine, so expect more. (I have others planned for both lampert and unpleasant at the very least)
(Not ship related) (angst heavy sorry)
Kasper’s infection is a brain-rooted/cognito-hazardous parasite
He got it after purposely ignoring a chainmail curse, both as a sort of “fuck around and find out” as well as an outright form of self-harm/self-sabotage.
The parasite is the one that primarily controls all the conscious actions of infected, while kasper now acts sub-consciously.
Its less of a split-mind situation and more of a Venom + Eddie or Gundam + Pilot situation they are two separate entities inhabiting the same body that can potentially act at the same time
It just so happens that the parasite from the chainmail curse has VERY similar desires/interests/motivations to Kasper, so the host/parasite relationship actually works very well.
Infected accidentally makes Kasper lose a decent chunk of weight after it takes over, due to it not being able to feel when Kasper is hungry and forgetting to let him eat
Kasper and Infected can be addressed separately (Lampert, UnpleasantGradient, Folly and maybe a few others know this) and Kasper tends to choose not to respond due to his own apathy, instead opting to let Infected take the lead.
Being able to respawn/no permadeath on the regretevator is the reason why Kasper opted to infect himself, as he saw it as the next closest thing to death/suicide.
Allowing infected to enter his mind has radically reduced Kasper’s lifespan. (He’d be lucky if he made it to his late 30’s)
His nose bleeds when Kasper and infected try to act at the same time
Infected is only transferrable via chainmail
Infected doesn’t feel any of the bodily necessities that kasper has, so its not uncommon for him to collapse of exhaustion, dehydration, hunger, ect. If someone doesn’t remind him.
Infected doesnt feel pain either
Kasper feels it though. A lot.
In fact the whole process of infected entering his mind was incredibly painful as is.
Infected isn’t the reason why things in the elevator/on his own body suddenly lose their texture, neither of them know why that happens now.
They personally aren’t physically effected by it and both find it cool, so neither are bothered.
It’s probably just the result of infected’s malware (thats only technically supposed to effect machines) managing to attach itself to a human. Or maybe Kasper could do that and never previously knew. Who knows. ;)
Kasper/infected can phase through objects that are textureless, including parts of his own body. Anything else will collide as it normally would, and take damage.
Infected will always talk with full leetspeak, (L13k D1$) while Kasper will only have one letter/number substitution (L1ke Th1s)
UG unintentionally named infected that. Basically just looked at Kasper, who had just let a parasite into his mind, and looked at the chainmail virus on his computer, and it went “huh… Bro’s Infected”
Bro is, in fact, infected.

Magnus Archives x 9-1-1
This post is for really only me and my stupid multi-fandom brain rot. But please enjoy what Fears from the Magnus Archives I believe would have marked themselves on each of the 118 and when that would have happened during actual plotlines.
Buck:
The Vast; “The fear of heights, falling, and large open spaces including sky, space, and deep water. More broadly: the human fear of insignificance and meaninglessness, of losing oneself in too much space” (Marked during the Tsunami)
I feel like Bucks first trauma during the 118 also fits here. The fall from the roller coaster. Buck would have been marked during the tsunami though. The fear of being lost in the never ending vast of the water, as well as that fear that bubbled in him while looking for Christopher. The fear than persisting through his fear of not being enough for everyone around him. Of needing to do so much in hopes of not falling into nothingness. Especially amplified from this fear during his childhood. Doing the one thing over and over again that got him attention from his family in hopes of not falling into that oblivion of meaninglessness. Buck also tends to be followed by these threats a lot during emergencies. Testing himself with heights, etc. Constantly hunted and stalked by the vast.
Eddie:
The buried; “The fear of small spaces, suffocating, drowning, being buried alive. Fear of everything crashing down around/on oneself. Fear of being trapped without enough space” (Marked during the collapse in well)
Eddie could have been also the slaughter to me. But I feel like the first area during the show would be the buried. His marking being when he was trapped in the well collapse. This fear still does follow him and keeps him on his toes. Avoiding for the rest of the show anything that may cause a collapse (literally he is not a part of any other situation for the buried to get to him). I also see this manifesting then in a way with his mental state. The idea that so much of his pushed away mental issues (and possible sexuality *wink wink* ABC) finally collapsing onto him and causing him to be buried in his own head. See the multiple ones he has been through. Anxiety attacks, PTSD emerging, anger issues, romantic and relationship issues, not over Shannon, and low losing Chris (the only person in the house who keeps him from being completely buried in his own mind).
Chimney:
The End; “The fear of death itself—uncaring and unstoppable, the fear that everything ends eventually” (Marked during car accident)
I don't feel like I need to explain this. Death follows this man like no one else for the love of gods leave him alone for one god forsaken season if not for me for Maddie and Jee!! He absolutely should not have survived that car accident and death was definitely angry at that. Contently taunted by the idea of the end and needing to make the most of his life in fear of the next time. Not to mention how death has haunted him already for years, from his mother to Kevin. Death keeps an eye on him and uses his fear to drive him a lot, taunting him with near experience after near experience. Letting him fear the day that it will eventually take him. Because out of all the fears, The End takes everyone eventually, even the victims of the other fears.
Hen:
The Eye; “The fear of being watched, exposed, followed, having secrets exposed. Can also pertain to the drive to know and understand, even if your discoveries might destroy you.” (Unknown mark, possible during childhood)
I cant think of a time that Hen would be marked by any other fear, but her demeanor and way of being reminds me a lot of Johnathan and how she may just be marked because of her personality (or possibly something in her childhood like Johns curiosity did). She constantly is seeking out information on her own instincts and craving more of it. Putting herself and her friends in possibly dangerous situations for that hunch and need for understanding and discovering if she was right, even if it is for the benefit of others most of the time. I can see her also feeding the eye as she fights to get through med school and wanting to know it all and being the best, even when that wasn't what was best for her. Hen just start worrying if you grow extra eyes or hear a tape recorder!!
Bobby:
The desolation; “The fear of pain, loss, burning, and destruction, especially with a senseless cause.” (Marked during the apartment fire)
(This hurts me trust). That apartment fire was the pinacol of this fear following bobby for the rest of his life. Haunting his every decision and relationship. The idea of that amount of loss and destruction, for no reason other than the happenstance of his building sadly not being up to code. The desolation, that fear making him more cautious, more strict to those around him, but still he is followed and haunted by more and more. The desolation reminding him that this pain and destruction can sometimes never be stopped, and he can't save everyone. Literally, his station is involved with the most destructive and random of emergences, even when he leaves the station those emergences follow him (Think of Athenas family or the cruise ship). He will never be over the destruction he's caused, and that pain and fear drives the desolation around him, it feeding off his reactions to each one.
Athena:
The dark; “The primal fear of the dark, of the unseen, and the creatures hiding from our view” (Marked during attack by Jeffery Hudson)
Athena lost for a bit her ability to trust the unknown after her attack and it is a perfect marking from the Dark. Entering that building into its domain and not being able to see or predict what Jeffery was doing or where he was in the first place. Even being hunted by this again during the blackouts (this fits way too good in my brain I swear). That darkness sent her spiraling again, not being able to trust anyone or anything. Even the fear targeting someone she cares about more than herself when she seems to break through the fears hold on herself. Athena is the only character to me though that has sort have shaken a bit of the effect of the fear on herself, but she still is a bit shaky of the dark and what hides in it from time to time, still marked for something to hunt her in the dark once she's brave enough to face it again.
Maddie:
The Hunt; “The animalistic fear of being chased or hunted; the primal fear of being prey.” (Marked during time with Doug, especially after finally getting away)
I make myself so upset with this. Maddie the entirety of season 2 and even beyond with dealing with her continued fear from her encounters with Doug in continuing seasons drives a lot of conflict in her life and keeps her eternally marked by the hunt. Constantly on edge having actually been hunted, even when she was dealing with the feeling of just thinking she was possible being or could be hunted. That on edginess of never knowing and how her job haunts her with those memories, the fears way of still driving her to feed it and remember how it messed with her before, that it could do it again. Inserting herself into one of those situations without even thinking as well, again feeding the fear and even making a situation worse because of it. Sadly, Maddie is marked by my scariest and saddest fear, and she may never be free of its grasp on her. (The hunt to me speaks to my own PTSD/Anxiety and is genuinely a perfect allegory for both. Johnny Sims, you make me cry and crawl at my skin with this and it's both beautiful and horrible).
If you made it this far, thanks for indulging in my brain rot of the day. Hope your pillow is cool on both sides and you smiled today!

Addict (Blitzø x Reader)
3: Pilot: Pill
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s been about 3 months since you moved it with Blitz/fucked him and Stolas, and ohhh boy Blitz sure does keep reminding you of it. He would always say how much you miss his dick and everytime you go take a shower he’s always like “Showering without me?”
“Yes, Blitz. Showering without you yet again.”
“Oh come on, we saw each other naked before!”
“Yeah a one time thing that I really don’t want to talk about.”
Now, with your addiction, you got away with taking adderal. It doesn't do much, but it's better than being sober. Sometimes whenever the crew goes out to kill, you will leave the office and go find either coke or meth and get high before they all come back. Blitz however, doesn't know that any of this is happening even though you guys been living together for 3 months now.
Blitz walked in front of the whiteboard while you were viciously sweeping the floor due to the amount of energy you had.
"Alright. Now, I know business has been... a bit slow lately, yes. It's no one's fault, okay? I'm not naming any names here... Moxxie. Now, does anyone have... any bright ideas on how we can get business drummin' up again?"
"What about a car wash?"
"This is Hell, Millie. No one cares about cars being clean here, okay? Wh- Ooh! What about a billboard?"
Moxxie rolled his eyes, "We can't afford a billboard, sir."
"Helpful, Moxxie. Really glad you're in the room right now. Have you guys forgotten what service we provide?"
Blitz proceeded to turn on the TV, showing everyone assassinating the humans from earth.
"Ahh, those were the good times." Blitz reminisced.
"I don't need any reminding, sir. Considering you blew most of our salaries on an obnoxious TV ad last week. One that you then additionally paid to have run for a full three hours on a channel... nobody watches."
"Uh, hey. Excuse me? What's "obnoxious" about a super-fun jingle, alright? It's a fun distraction when an advertisement's spittin' bullshit! Y/n, any ideas?"
You stopped dead in your tracks. "Uh..I don't know. I'm a janitor."
"Useless." Blitz scoffed.
Loona received a call and answered nonchalantly, "I.M.P.", The two talked for a bit and she hung up.
"Colorado. Some guy named Eddie." She flipped a page of the magazine that she's reading.
"Finally." Moxxie said, getting up from his chair and walking towards the portal that Loona opened up.
You continued to sweep and mop the entire floor. Running around and dusting every little thing.
"Blitz isn't here, you can stop working." Loona said, not looking up from her magazine.
"I like to clean, keeps my mind busy."
An hour later you were on the floor, scrubbing the left over gunk with a toothbrush. Loona would occasionally glance at you and roll her eyes.
The door of the room opened up, making you stand up and pretend that you're not cracked out. "Uh, who's this?" You pointed to the boy laying on a stretcher.
"Moxxie was being retarded and shot the wrong person." Blitz huffed.
"I'm sorry, sir! I'd like to go on record and say that incident was Loona's fault. Dispatch is supposed to give us the right info on the target."
"Oh, sit on a dick, Moxxie."
"YOU sit! Sit on... a... and the... d-- DO YOUR JOB!!" He slammed his fist on the table.
"Hey, now. We don't blame our screwups on Loona, okay?! She didn't do anything wrooooong~"
"Are you kidding me, sir? She's awful!"
Loona flipped him off before answering the phone. "I.M.P....Blitz! That clingy, rich asshole is on the phone! Says it's urgent and wants to talk to you! Sounds a little DTF-y."
"Oh, GOD, it was one time! If Y/n and I hadn't slept with that privileged asshole, none of us would have access to the living world." He crossed his arms.
"...You what?" Moxxie looked disgusted.
"Blitz! What the fuck!?" You walked over to him. "That was supposed to be a secret!"
"Wait," Millie stood up. "You slept with our boss?" She smiled.
"I got sucked into it. Don't want to talk about it."
Blitz put his arm around you, "I don't know, you seem to enjoy it." He teased. You pushed him off and sat down next to Millie.
"Blitzzz answer the phone!" Loona groaned.
Blitz motioned you to come with him to the office to talk to Stolas. At first you shook your head and stayed still. "Dude, he wanted you, not me."
"We're in this together, I don't want to be left alone to talk to him."
You eventually gave in and followed Blitz into his office. He planted himself onto his chair and picked up the phone, "Hey Stolas."
"There's a political candidate causing trouble up on Earth for a few of my associates. He's trying to convince people global warming exists!"
"Doesn't it?" You replied.
"Well... yes. But, more people die if nothing is done about it. And it gets lonely here~"
"Okay, well. Yeah, that makes sense." Blitz agreed.
"You know what happens when I'm lonely, Blitzy and Y/n?"
"How come I don't get a nickname?" You joked.
"God-fuckin'-dammit." Blitz said under his breath.
"When I'm lonely, I become hungry. And when I become hungry, I want to choke on that red cock of yours...Y/n fingering me, and me licking all of your cum, before taking out your cock, and fucking Y/n while she’s sucking me with more teeth until she’s screaming daddy like a FUCKING baby--!"
Blitz ended the call, looking traumatized. You on the other hand was laughing your ass off. "Looks like he wants us to fuck him."
"You're enjoying this aren't you?"
"A little." You snickered.
Blitz broke his phone and blended it.
"Loona!" He shouted.
She entered the office and put her hands on her hip.
"Eat this. And then y'know that bridge over the freeway?"
"Yeah?"
"Shit off it!"
The three walked out of the office, you leaned against the door.
"Look, the point is, Loona is a valued member of our family, and we don't get rid of family." Blitz finished off the conversation from earlier.
"We aren't a family, sir! You are the boss! We are the employees! You treat her like she's some troubled teenager! She's more like a meth-addicted homeless woman you let man the phones!"
You and Blitz exchanged glances. He walked up to the window to change topics. "That is offensive! Without homeless people, I wouldn't have HALF the joy and laughter I do in this life!"
"While we're on the subject of "family", can you stop finding me and Millie outside of work? Can't you just hang out with Y/n instead?"
"Come on, sweetie! It's not that big a deal." Millie smiled.
"Excuse me...WHAT?!"
"Y/n and I live together, i'm up her ass as much as I'm up yours."
"You're literally up in my ass." You snorted.
"Just... stop... doing that!" Moxxie said to Blitz, but might as well as say it to you.
Blitz shrugged. "I don't see what the issue is! There somethin' you don't want me seein'?"
"No!"
"You a baby-wiener-haver?"
"Sir, what you say and how you act is totally INAPPROPRIATE!" Moxxie stood up.
"Calm down, Mox! You're gonna have another panic attack!"
"I AM CALM!"
"Shh-shh-shh. There, there."
"Look, I don't judge the boring couple stuff you do outside work hours. So, don't... judge me!" Blitz crossed his arms.
"Oh, I do judge you, sir! Quite a lot, actually! Y/n how come you don't stop him?"
"I have no control of what he does."
"Mox, he's our boss!"
"No-no-no, it's fine Mills, your husband is just... how do I say this without being offensive? ...retarded."
"Does immaturely insulting me make you feel better about your sad situationship with Y/n?"
"Moxxie for the last time we're not dating!" You interjected.
"Oh come on! You two are fucking each other, live with each other, and constantly flirting."
"Friends with benefits." You shrugged.
"Y/n has too many problems to date." Blitz stated.
"Fuck you too then! You have more problems than me!"
"At least I'm not a dru-"
"Don't." You gritted your teeth.
"Moxxie, the only reason you have a wife is because you're easy to manage!" Loona looked up from her phone.
Millie slams her hands against the table, "No, he's not, you BITCH!"
"Do not talk to my receptionist that way! She's sensitive!" Blitz crossed his arms.
"Yes, I am!"
"You guys are all fucking assholes."
Everyone looked at the kid.
"Oh, shut up, kid! You're lucky to witness this!" Blitz pointed his finger.
"It's been a literal hell having to pretend to be paralyzed so you fuckshits wouldn't kill me! But, now I want that. I want death!"
Eddie pointed to Blitz. "You are a selfish, greedy clown. And I'm a kid! We're supposed to like clowns! Even the creepy ones!"
"HA!" You slapped your knee.
"What's up with your teeth?" Eddie laughed, "Looks like you smoke meth, especially with your fucked up skin and the fact that half of your teeth is gone."
You put your hand over your mouth.
"Hey, now! That's not very--"
Eddie interrupted Moxxie, "If I wanted to hear from a spineless jackass, I'd rip out your spine and ask you some shit."
"That's my husband you're talkin' to!" Millie slammed her fist on the table.
"That's your husband?! I figured you for a slut. But, I didn't know you needed dick that bad! And you!" He pointed to Loona.
"What? What about me?"
"Nothing. I don't talk to dogs. I'm a cat person."
"Wow. Ah, y'know, kid, you kind of are a piece of shit." Blitz replied.
Everyone in unison agreed as you tugged on Blitz's sleeve to get his attention. "Are my teeth that bad?" You whispered in a sad voice, opening your mouth ever so slightly.
"Do you want me to be honest or nice?" He whispered back.
"Fuck you."
"Oh, fuck! Guys, I just got a text from our client! Guess he was the right target after all." Loona smiled.
"Who?"
"Him."
"Me?" Eddie said in disbelief.
"Yup." She said smugly.
"They wanted us to kill an actual child?" Blitz raised his eyebrow.
"That's what they're sayin'."
"...Well, Christ on a stick. I guess there is a God."
Blitz draws a flintlock pistol and fires it at Eddie, resulting in blood splattering everywhere.
"Y/n you're the janitor, go clean it up." Blitz smirked.
"Let me go to the bathroom first." You fast walked into the bathroom and locked the door, pulling out a baggy from your pocket. You poured the adderal onto your hand and brought it to your mouth, swollowing the white pills dry.
You left the bathroom once it kicked in, and cleaned up the mess while the others got rid of Eddie's body.
Selkie thoughts in the server last night, inspired by this post, and I couldn't let them go
So, maybe Eddie is writing something. And maybe that hypothetical something started out being for his campaign, but it morphed into something else along the way. If that thing exists at all.
He allegedly writes about a selkie, one with, well, maybe not the best coat, but one that's absolutely, unequivocally his. He prizes it, and he takes it with him everywhere he goes because damn if he's going to let anyone ever make him stay.
There are few things he hates more than the idea of staying.
This selkie doesn't like humans. They're cruel and ignorant. They hurt that which they do not understand, and the thing they understand least of all is the selkie.
So, he lives on the outskirts of that little town. They do not like him, and he does not need them. He swims along the coast, basking in his freedom, beholden to no one.
Until a storm bashes him against the rocks. He has just enough sense to take off his coat, to become human, before he slips out of consciousness.
He wakes up in a lighthouse. There's a man there, a strong one with thick brown hair and freckled skin, and the selkie panics. He needs to leave, needs to get out, away to the sea, back to where he's safe.
But he's too hurt to leave, and while the man, at first, rings every bell that screams danger, the selkie stays, uneasily, and rests, and listens.
His coat is always in his hands. The man never takes it.
The man speaks of his loneliness as the lighthouse keeper, but also the necessity of it. He protects ships, he protects the town, and no one thanks him for it. Not that he needs thanks, specifically, but he would like company.
He likes the company of the selkie, it seems. And the selkie, strangely enough, is starting to like the company of the man.
But he does not reveal himself. He talks instead of the things he's seen, but he takes care to sound like a human. He makes up a new life, a new story as a sailor, one who has traveled the world. The man listens, enraptured by tales of the ocean and storms and people.
And the selkie soon realizes that all of it, all of the water and the sky and the rush of freedom, pales in comparison to staying here. With the man.
But that's not right. He can't stay. He shouldn't want to. Staying is bad. Staying means the man will find out what he is, and he will want his coat, he will want to keep him as a thing instead of a person.
That's all he's ever seen as.
The man seems to notice his restlessness, and he says, "If you want to leave, you can. But don't forget your coat."
The selkie stares, and the man explains that he knew from the beginning what he truly was. And he still allows him to leave.
The selkie shakes his head and instead says, "Come with me."
The man does. There is a woman, and another man, and other people who take turns in the lighthouse, who watch it, who make the job less lonely. It was something the man could never manage, he knows that now, but he is happy that other people can.
The man and the selkie go off together, sailing the world, visiting coastal towns everywhere they can, but they always come home for the summer.
(And if Eddie finishes this hypothetical story after he and Steve realize they love each other, after Steve always reminds Eddie to take his vest with him, after they agree to get out of Hawkins but still come back for the summertime, for the late night drives and the people they can't find anywhere else, well. That's his business, and his business only.)
concept: buddie supernatural au (the mythos. not the show.)
buck is like the werewolf coded character ever, so ofc that's what he is. he's a werewolf who grew up in a family of werewolves who never made him feel like part of a pack, so he’s trying so desperately to seek connection wherever he can get it. (no, that’s not right—maddie was always pack to him, but then she left with that vampire doug. she always smells a bit like blood now in a way that rubs him wrong, but she’s still staunchly, if tiredly, loyal whenever he nudges her about it, and it hurts to have the reminder that at the end of the day, he’s not her first choice. she’s still pack, she’ll always be pack, but there’s something broken and frayed there now that buck can’t poke at without wanting to break down, so he doesn’t.)
“you go, i go,” connor says, and buck hears pack, so he tags along.
“no man left behind,” the recruiter tells him, and buck hears pack, so he signs himself up for training.
“welcome to the 118,” bobby tells him, and buck still hears pack, but he’s long past trusting his ears.
but things get better. they get worse, first—he’s reminded that humans always find it easier to break bonds than werewolves—but then he’s hired again and saving lives and part of the team. and he has abby, who smells a bit like sickness and a lot like worry the first time he actually meets her, but she has a smile like the moon and always, always picks up the phone when he calls her.
(and then abby goes to europe, and she stops picking up the phone as often. buck doesn’t think of it as leaving him. he doesn’t. he doesn’t.)
the day that eddie shows up and buck catches a whiff of his scent, he’s... confused. the guy absolutely reeks of the sea, in a way that makes no sense if he's telling the truth about being in the army for several years before this. he should smell like sand and gunpowder, but instead buck is reminded of walks along the beach, and with a faint hint of fur and fish, too.
and then he sees the leather jacket that eddie hangs up in his locker.
“damn, this looks like high quality if i’ve ever seen it,” hen says, eyebrows raised, and they practically leap off her face when she catches both of them stiffening when she reaches for it. “oookay. i’ll just. go over there?”
“you brought it with you?” buck hisses at eddie when she’s out of earshot.
“you know what it is?” eddie narrows his eyes. “werewolf? vampire? fairy?” he sniffs the air and then snorts. “werewolf. got it.”
“don’t you have like a—like a box or something to keep it in for safekeeping? a safe?” literally anywhere other than the fire house.
“why don’t you leave my personal belongings to me?” eddie slams his locker door shut. “and the lockbox thing is a stereotype.”
great.
but then they pull a grenade from a man’s leg and they work in a kind of harmony that buck’s never felt before with anyone else on the team, the kind that makes his blood sing and howl in his veins, and eddie says “you can have my back any day” and buck, despite everything, still hears pack.
-
eddie keeps his seal skin with him because he’s had it stolen once. or—stolen is a strong word, it would never hold up in any human court, but instinct doesn't care about semantics, and he’d ended up married anyway. so he always keeps it with him, he always knows where it is, and if he can’t fit it on under or over whatever uniform he's wearing at the time, it’s going in his locker and right back on his person at the end of his shift.
buck still gives him weird looks for it from time to time, like he can’t quite believe that eddie’s willing to take his coat with him outside of his house at all, but he quickly accepts it as the status quo and at least stops questioning him about it. besides, it’s not as if buck’s completely innocent on the supernatural front either. eddie’s never seen any other werewolf take a work shift on a full moon, and even though buck practically vibrates through his shift, he makes it through the night without so much as a five o’clock shadow.
“skipped your pack run?” he asks when they’re all changing back into their civvies. he instantly regrets the question when buck’s shoulders hitch up around his ears in the very picture of uncomfortable.
“i, uh. i have you guys,” buck says with a painful looking smile. shit. “i’ll see you on wednesday, man.”
“buck—” and he’s gone.
he doesn’t even get the chance to work up the courage to ask what that was all about because shannon. shannon.
there’s a lot of anger and betrayal and misunderstanding tangled up in their relationship, but there’s love there still, too. and christopher. always christopher. but then he lets it slip that she’s back in his life now, and buck—
“you're fucking with me, right?” buck’s voice is so flat that it doesn’t even sound like a question.
eddie sighs. “buck—”
“she’s the one who took your coat, right? that’s why you married her? why you had to marry her?”
“buck, it’s not that simple—”
“and now you let her back in, easy as that? you're not even a little bit mad?”
“of course i’m mad!” eddie yells. buck flinches. “but i left her too. it’s complicated, buck.”
despite all the jokes that the rest of the 118 make about buck and his golden retriever, frat boy energy, he’s always been good at thinking on his feet and memorizing facts and putting the pieces of a mystery together. “she gave you back your coat,” he says slowly, like he’s turning the idea over in his mind while he says it. “that’s why you enlisted. you were running. you were free.” eddie doesn’t deny it fast enough. “eddie.”
“like i said. it’s complicated.”
buck shakes his head slowly, eyes wide and wary like eddie’s a stranger that he’s never seen before. “doesn't sound complicated to me.”
the bell rings. eddie’s never been so grateful for a three-alarm fire in his life.
see, the thing is, everything buck is saying is true. shannon is the one who ended up with his coat. eddie did enlist after she gave his coat back. but that ignores everything before and after and in-between. shannon didn’t purposefully take his coat or hide it from him either, and she’d given it back when eddie had been forced to explain when chris would be born with his own coat. and despite everything, despite the fact that he knew he loved her, knew he loved chris—he still chose to leave. he thought he’d been sending a message when he’d chosen something with a built-in return date, a quiet ‘i’ll be back eventually, i promise’ but apparently not.
like he said—it’s complicated.
the universe decides to take that as a challenge, as it always does. shannon, the tsunami, the lawsuit—it’s all so much, all the time, and eddie doesn’t really tune back in to the world until he’s trapped forty feet below the ground, surrounded by water and missing his goddamn coat.
“really?” he asks the muddy tomb around him. “now?”
but the water is an old friend, as always, and he’s much less likely to die of hypothermia or shock from the cold than the average human, so he grits his teeth and dives below the surface. when he crawls his way back to his team, it’s buck that greets him first, pulling him into a hug that’d be painfully tight to a human and smelling of wet fur and tears. “i wasn’t sure you—i knew you’d survive the water, but all the mud on top of you—”
“i’m here,” eddie says, because what else can he say? “i made it.”
he gets bundled up in a blanket and carted off to a paramedic to get checked out, but he doesn’t forget the way buck’s shoulders shook against his own.
-
eddie gets shot and buck falls to fucking pieces because that’s his p—that’s his fucking best friend and now buck knows what his blood feels like on his hands and in his mouth. and he follows eddie all the way to the hospital, all the way to the double doors that he’s never been allowed past, before he remembers—
christopher.
so he stays with eddie’s kid, takes care of him like he’s his own—like eddie would take care of him—and tries not to break down with every lungful of eddieandchris scented air that he takes in their house.
when buck gets that call from ana, he throws himself into action, tugging on a jacket with one hand and juggling his phone with the other so he can make sure that christopher will be safe at home with carla while he rushes to the hospital. to eddie.
ana’s presence hardly registers when he bursts into that hospital room and sees eddie on the bed. his scent is weak and laced with the smell of disinfectant and chemicals but his smile is still warm and alive and oh, buck missed him.
“h-hey,” buck stammers, pulling up short next to the bed. he’s not sure if he should or even can pick up eddie’s hand. can he touch? will eddie break? “i—i made sure that no one touched your stuff at the firehouse, your coat’s still safe, i promise, and—and chris is at home, i’ve been staying with him, making sure that he’s okay—did you know he’s been doing a good job in science class?—and i told carla to wait for a video call maybe, if you’re up to it, so—”
“buck.” and then all of the words spilling from his mouth come to a trembling halt when eddie puts a hand on his arm. “hey. breathe.” buck sucks in a reedy breath. “everything you did was perfect. thank you.”
buck’s exhale shakes. “yeah?”
the smile that eddie gives him could rival the sun in its warmth. “yeah.”
and then later, after eddie’s been discharged—
“you’re not expendable,” eddie says. “if i die, i want you to take care of christopher,” eddie says. buck’s blood is roaring in his ears.
oh.
oh.
OH.
all he hears is he’s yours too.
“eddie,” he chokes out. he dives for eddie, burrowing into his surprised embrace and wishing he could wrap his furry body around eddie and smother him with licks and kisses because human comfort just doesn’t compare sometimes. instead, he settles for tucking eddie’s face into the curve of his neck, right where buck’s the most vulnerable.
it’s not the same, he chants to himself, it doesn’t mean the same thing to him as it does to you, but that doesn’t matter over the triumphant roar of PACK in his veins. packs share pups. that’s the whole point of packs—so the children can grow up safely, surrounded by family. and eddie just gave him his.
he would’ve taken care of chris without the confirmation—already has been, really—but it feels entirely different to have the words out in the open, to know that eddie feels the same way. mine, he thinks with vicious satisfaction and something that feels a little too similar to relief, twisting his fingers tighter into eddie’s shirt. mine mine mine mine mine.
“thank you,” he whispers into eddie’s collarbone. “this means. uh. a lot. thank you.”
“hey.” buck can feel eddie’s confusion in the way his body doesn’t quite know whether to lean in or not, but it doesn’t make his voice any less warm. “i’m just making it official, yknow? i want someone who’d fight for him as hard as i would. and i know that’s you. it’s been you.”
“mhm.” buck’s hardly listening anymore. he just curls up and lets himself breathe out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. i’ve found them, he thinks. the missing pieces to my puzzle.
