Fried Rice

When visiting Tomarang looking for a new apartment to rent, Betty and Tim wanted to get a feel for the new neighbourhood they might be moving to. Wandering down the street, they saw a woman artfully cooking in a wok over a little cookfire. She was tossing rice with an assortment of vegetables and meats, causing tantalising aromas to waft through the bustling street. Betty and Tim both bought a plate of the Fried Rice - it was delicious!

Dish of the Day #2: Crab Fried Rice

Today, Annelise decided to try making some Thai food, because she’s been craving it.

Annelise is a big fan of seafood, so she decided to make some crab fried rice.

Here’s how she made it:

First, she chopped up the ingredients, such as garlic,

tomatoes,

leeks,

and crab meat.

Then, she added the rice and some oil.

After that, she fried everything together in her pan.

Hmm, needs more seasoning.

And finished!

This is how the fried rice turned out!

ok what kind of farm do you want? animals or lots of fruits and veggies?

Ok so I’m more inclined towards having a garden but while doing my research and with how crazy expensive food is atm I would definitely have chickens, goats, and honey bees with working dogs and barn cats. Having other animals like cows, guineas, and turkeys would be awesome but that would depend on the size of the farm itself.

Lol I started rambling but yeah growing fruit/veggies would be priority.

Week 3: London

Hello hello!

The weekdays of Week 3 were pretty uneventful as I had class, however, I did get to try arancinis! Arancinis are fried rice balls with mozzarella and meat which are different from supplis which only consist of mozzarella. I got three different flavors, my favorite being the squid ink as it complimented nicely with the fish inside. I highly recommend trying one if you’re in Italy as they’re cheap, delicious, and filling!

For the weekend, I flew to London to visit my friend! I got an Italian SIM card for my stay in Rome and so when I arrived in London, it was a bit scary as I didn’t have data. Thankfully, public wifi got me to my friend :”)

To be quite honest, we didn’t really have a set plan for the weekend - we just wanted to catch up - and so that weekend consisted of a lot of walking around! My friend did show me some famous landmarks such as Tower Bridge and Big Ben which were really pretty! She also took me to see Buckingham Palace but since it was the King’s birthday, we couldn’t get super close. We were able to see a parade though which was really fun! My favorite activity however, was going to the parks. The parks in London were MASSIVE and flat and so it was easy to walk around, sit, and enjoy the beautiful beautiful sunsets with the skyscrapers in the background. My friend also told me that that weekend was the first weekend in which the weather was really nice and so the park was filled with people enjoying the weather. We eventually met up with our other friends and went to a nightclub where we saw Natasha Bedingfield perform (unexpectedly)! It was really fun because not only did we get an unexpected performance, but we were also able to all catch up after not seeing each other for 4+ years :)

The next morning, we took it easy and visited Camden Market. The market was a lot bigger than I expected with the market offering everything, from food to jewelry to art! We ended up spending our entire day there before heading home for me to pack my things.

All in all, I had a great time in London! Some things I’ve noticed is that London is very modern. I had some pounds on me but didn’t even use it once as all places accepted contactless payment (and preferred this method of payment). Even for public transportation, you didn’t need to buy a physical ticket: you just “tapped” in and out with your card on your phone. Fun fact: in London, there’s a cap in how much public transportation can charge you a day! I believe the cap is 10 pounds and so after that, your public transportation rides are free! Another thing is that London is quite diverse, both in people and food. As much as I love being in Rome, every time I walk around, I know I stick out. However, in London, I felt like I blended in with the crowd. Furthermore, there were different cuisines everywhere and so that weekend, I indulged in my favorite: Asian cuisine.

Another thing I wanted to mention that I thought was really cool was that almost all museums are free! As we wandered around, we stumbled upon two “light” museums and just walked in! My friend also told me that the typical museums are also free :)

Heavy raining in my country and what I’ve done on this weekend is eating and making Sims CC. 

1. I cooked Western food too. Mac & Cheese. Feels very The Sims 2 food. With additional a bowl of pork ham soup, brand Plumrose from Australia. 

2. Traditional Indonesian cakes. Kue Kayu Manis (Cinnamon bread with Almond topping), Kue Lapis (Green black layered cake made with glutinous rice flour), Roti Pawa goreng (Fried bread with meat filling)   

3. 蕉葉糯米雞 Lo Mai Gai with pork filling. 

4. 鳳爪蒸腸粉 Feng Zhua Zheng Chang Fen (Chicken Feet with Rice Noodles).

Requires my“Custom Chinese Food Interaction”Mod, or Custom Food Interaction Mod by the Food Group on MTS to cook the recipes. Latest version needed (Chinese Food Interaction Mod after Feb 25th, 2021 or Custom Food Interaction Mod after March 2021)!

Grand meal versions and restaurant recipes requires Seasons, or else Sims won't eat them. I want my Sims to be able to finish Grand Meal holiday custom at restaurants, sorry.

Some ingredients need harvestables from Icemunmun or certain pack to show up.
