he is intimate to it, like the relation the cold has to an abandoned house? that's not quite right, i'll come back to that someday

it's a bit like the dread nipping at his heels. have you ever seen him with less than two to three layers of cloth? He's a cold man, I'd imagine his hands are the type that's always clammy and that's what the gloves are for. The uniform staved it off fine at first, the coat's a thick wool and the undershirt's a nice layer of cotton. The cloak-coat-shirt-beanie combo for Pogtopia was fine for the cave's muggy chill. Uncomfortable as hell, i'd imagine, but whatever keeps the cold away. Whatever keeps the dread from eating him alive.

Dying was cold as hell, so to speak.

Dying was falling into the ocean and sinking from the weight of the sword on his chest. Losing blood made him even colder. Dying was freezing to death despite cPhil, a bastion of warmth—trembling, teeth grit, like he is the one that's cold—holding him closer than he'd ever been held before. Dying is slowly losing the dear warmth wrapped around him. Dying is giving into the cold because it was his joy in unrelenting pain.

The subway isn't exactly cold—it's cold like the idea of being trapped in a fridge in a dream. You acknowledge the low temperature, but you don't feel it on your skin. You acknowledge the dread, the fear, the trembling air as the train rushes in for its next flood of colder shades, but you're out of it enough that all you can focus on is the bite of guitar strings on your skin or how smooth the laminated deck of cards is in your hands. You acknowledge it in every tomorrow creeping in its petty pace.

His revival was the first time that he was warm again. Shirt-sweater-coat, you'd think he's scared of the cold from the ten miles of cloth he's hiding under.

The sunrise was warm. The way everyone treats him thereafter?

The origin of the White Fang is absolutely bananas. Blake recalls its original purpose to be a symbol of peace between humans and faunus, a notion so vague it's literally meaningless, but who the fuck names a peace organization White Fang? Why not something like the White Dove or Open Arms, something that actually brings to mind the idea of peace?

And here's another little thing that ShawLuna can't help but trip over: historically, those who prefer revolutionary tactics do not boot out a pacifist leader once their rationale becomes the popular one. They just make their own group, like the Black Panthers or the Hindustan Socialism Republic Association. This happens pretty often and the groups almost always are critical of each other's methods, but they coexist rather than take over

But doing that would mean that they would've had to write multiple groups with complex ideologies towards overcoming an equally complex obstacle, so one group turned sUpEr eViL is all we get

i'd just like everyone to know that when fabian gifted adaine a worm in a box it did not occur to me once that it was a literal worm until it started talking. i had no doubt in my mind that it was a fuzzy blue worm on a string in a gold box that she was going to wear like an earpiece/hearing aid.

It has been requested (@awfullybigwardrobe44 💛) that I provide an update on How Things Are Going With The Young Man, and there’s so much I could say that it all kind of cancels itself out (I’ve been journaling like a madwoman lately), but yes, I think things are going well. I still can't believe any of this is happening, I am not the kind of person that this kind of stuff is supposed to happen to 😆 We have gone on several more dates, one of them a day-long fishing trip, and it’s been lovely and I just think he's delightful and I really like being with him. I still have a lot of shyness to overcome, but considering how intensely terrified I used to be of him I think I’ve made excellent progress 😆 I’ve seen less of him lately because he’s extremely busy with work and especially school but we text a lot and this weekend we’re planning to go to dinner and then the symphony after that (I bought the tickets and I can tell it's driving him nuts that I finally paid for something myself but ahaha it's too late there's nothing he can do about it now) 😊

This is the best impulse purchase that I've ever made!

Big lots is selling their displays and I grabbed this hat display for $25 for my furuit heads/masks. Super cursed looking but I like being able to see everyone and it's on wheels too!
