Don’t do things because other people tell you to. You have to decipher if things are for you and are authentically things that align with you. Don’t curate the image of who you want to be based on others. Don’t listen to music to genuinely don’t like just because of how people will perceive you. Don’t wear clothes that don’t suit you and you don’t feel comfortable in because you have been told to. Yes these things matter to an extent because how you present yourself matters. What I’m saying is don’t create a caricature of yourself because nothing about it is real to you. Nothing is true to who you truly are. Adapt things to who you are. Find music that you like. Find clothes that you love. Discover books you truly enjoy. Find videos that truly spark your interest. Don’t be superficial. Create a life that is true to you, one that deep down you don’t hate or feel dissatisfied with on the inside because you’re living a lie. Even if it’s different people will respect your genuity.
Live well.

Ironically, the best way to be feminine is to be yourself. The thing you can’t place your hand on that you admire in other women is them being women of their own. They are unique. They embrace themselves and continue to do so. It’s okay to not know yourself as a young woman but it’s your duty to figure that out, not to copy other women because you admire them. Be inspired but not a copycat. - The Femme Refinery

Had to pull this off Twitter to remind you that in 2023 live for you. Have big goals and big dreams FOR YOU. A man is just an add on to your journey. By the time you become the woman of your dreams the men you don’t want won’t be qualified to date you and you won’t even look their way. Eyes on the prize - YOU.

Books to add to your reading list this year
Thé princessa by Harriet Rubin - explores power from a woman’s perspective and advices not to employs power the way men do it.
Becoming by Michelle Obama - there’s a lot to be learnt about excellence and making sure to be best for herself before she met Barrack.
12 week year - currently reading this and it’s mind blowing. Breaks down how to better execute things. Especially good for those who burn out in the middle of the year ro lose track of their goals.
The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel - if you want to develop a better mindset around money and achieve financial freedom this is a great starting point.
Boundaries by Dr Henry Cloud and Dr John Townsend - self explanatory but I return to this every year and having/developing boundaries is a continuous work in progress.
Go forth and flourish💕.

Being feminine doesn’t mean you should lose your brain and your ambition. In a world where everyone is trying to be the same, dare to be different and forge your own path. - The Femme Refinery

Thoughts???
Posting for considération. There is nothing wrong with being a SAHM like was said, but you do need to bring something to the table even if you aren’t “working”.

You cannot operate in the world like everyone in the world is an enemy and go far. That is not to say to be wise and vigilant and operating from a place of discernment. Seeing everyone as the enemy means you protect yourself from the blessings/opportunities as well as the negativity. Life is to be lived with balance. - The Femme Refinery

Do you think work, school, love and femininity is attainable at the same time?
Yes I believe it is very much attainable but not necessarily at the same time without a lot of work in prioritising each one till the foundations are built to balance each of them equally. That is if ever they can be balanced equally. I believe that at any point one or more will be of more priority than the others and it doesn’t make them any less important. I am currently at a point in my life where I am trying to balance work (internships - did one over the summer, part time work), university, my relationship and my femininity at the same time. In terms of full transparency o have struggled in the last two as being with someone shows you the parts of yourself that you need to work on and for me these involve vulnerability, communication, abandonment issues, and hyper independence to name a few. Femininity and hyper independence don’t go well together - note I am not promoting damsel in distress. I am simply saying I still struggle with accepting help and being vulnerable not just with my partner but with accepting help in general and saying i need help. These are things I am working on and although university is my priority now compared to other things it doesn’t mean I can’t work on them all simultaneously. I know I will drop the ball sometimes as I am not superwoman and I am not trying to be. I am flawed and thriving. Two things can be true. I hope this helps.
Xoxo,
S.

Don’t give up. We’re just over 3 months till the end of the year. This is a time to start reflecting and rectifying the things that didn’t go so well this year. If at all you don’t review your goals every month you should start doing that. What will you start doing differently. That goal you forgot about there is still time to start. Don’t just let the rest of the year go be causse you didn’t have a great start or you fell off at some point. The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time is now. Don’t sell yourself short✨.

Cherish those in your life but understand wth at not everyone will enter the next phase of your life. Love those in your life and give them their flowers. Don’t be afraid to let them know how much they mean to you and their impact on your life. When their season ends mourn and celebrate what you had. And those that have been there through many seasons don’t take them for granted. So much grace has been extended to you the same way you have extended them grace.

Prioritise your journey. Don’t focus on others at the expense of yourself. This includes trying to force others to level up with you. You can’t take everyone with you. Your growth is a personal journey.
