Is anyone else getting tired of theframing of the discussion of why Oz is Like That?

I mean in relation to why Oz is a bad person. Like, everyone has different opinions on how he became the monster he is. But they often take a really... reductive view of it which kinda reveals how people see morality in real life.

Oz isn't a good person, I agree. He's not seeing the pearly gates. And that's because of his choices and because he's so wrapped into his idea of himself that he'll do anything to preserve it.

But like, folks want to invent a sort of... innate trait it him, and tbh it kinds turns lowkey bigoted at a certain angle.

Like I literally had to shut down a debate in my discord server cause they were being like "Oz doesn't feel empathy." Which felt like a kick in the balls as a low empathy autistic guy. I can't even imagine how someone who straight up doesn't experience empathy must feel like.

You can be a good person, and go your entire life without feeling bad when other folks feel bad. By the simple fact your choice and your feelings are two separate things.

Same thing with **feeling romantic/platonic/familiar love**, doesn't make you a good person; Same thing with not having a good grasp on reality , doesn't inherently makes a **Bad** person.

There's no inherent mental trait to evilness, that's a made up fictional thing. (That the show might endorse in its own problematic way but that's a separate post)

I'm just not on board with pathologizing Oz, in any way. Because it'll inhernetly demonize someone irl I don't want demonized.

Last Pride month 2020 I had just accepted my sexual orientation to myself.

The whole year I was worried about my relatives and everyone else finding out, because I still felt a little ashamed

Now, I'm still a little scared about my relatives finding out but only because I know what their reaction will be (negative), not because I'm ashamed. However if the topic is brought out I don't feel like lying about it.

And now I feel comfortable enough to post it. Maybe even on facebook where my relatives are. I feel like I can celebrate Pride month for real this year 🌈😊

Today, I’m taking photos of my favourite little oasis: our Sarasota home. My artworks are on the woven into the @anthropologie rugs on our floor, on screen on our @samsung TV (The Frame TV displays art when not in use), and also printed onto the @anthropologiehome cushions! They’re on the kitchens chairs, the candles, and— oh yes— original paintings are hanging on the walls too, now! I finished my large piece, and staples her to a strip of wood (I didn’t have any large sized, pre-stretched canvases here).
