i hate talking ab not–fun personal stuff on here (if it's not hidden deep in tags LOL), but i feel so so guilty for being so slow at replying to messages here/on discord and i would never want any friends to feel ignored or like i'm not enthusiastic to chat bc i genuinely have the most fun yapping together in the wota server and it's been such a joy making more friends here and getting closer with some ppl 🥺 it's just eating me up even tho ik i don't have to apologize/explain myself and i'd never hold it against someone else if the roles were flipped!! it's just to put my mind at ease so i can feel less guilt/pressure :')) and i am Uncomfortable talking about bleh emotions so it's easier to just plop it here and not have to explain myself one on one lmaoo tbf i may delete this in a few hrs bc just typing this up might give my brain some relief anyway and then i won't feel like this is necessary!

but sam lore the quick of it is i have # bipolar and i've been in an originally manic, then hypomanic episode essentially since around the time i started this account? it's the longest 'up' episode i've had but it's also the first one i've been off bp meds for so that might be why (long story dw i see my dr monthly <3 sorting life out rn) and i think starting stimulants back in may prolonged it a bit bc yk. meth LMAO but it finally petered off a few weeks ago and now i am entering the Big D (and not the fun kind) so some days i just do not have any energy for anything other than survival mode and when i'm suddenly super chatty or active, 99% of the time it's bc i just took my adhd meds and downed an iced coffee lmaoo genuinely so grateful i have those meds to keep me from fully sinking deep into a bad episode for now at least. so tldr; not trying to be antisocial or ignore anyone, just tryina truck thru :-)

i'm so thankful for all the cool ass friends i've met thru mota and i have been rly scared since i felt myself swinging to the other side of the bp spectrum last month bc i've been very up since i joined tumblr and i don't want a sudden change in vibes to be taken personally or for it to seem like i've lost interest in fandom!! i also get scared i'll just be dull and boring to friends now who have only known me while i'm manic which is understandable bc it's a big switch up but i think over text it shouldn't be as jarring bc yk i have time to think ab my words more and all. i am a little surprised actually that if anything, my motivation for writing has only intensified in the past month, but i think it's the first time i've had a healthy form of escapism in an episode and my brain has definitely latched onto it to get me thru that and a lot of shit stuff that's been happening irl this summer, so i'm unbelievably thankful that this fandom dragged me back into fic writing as hard as it did <3

but as sometimes happens with depression as i'm sure most of us have experienced, motivation/energy loss can hit even our biggest passions and i'm Terrified and hoping so very hard that it doesn't, but if fic updates do abruptly slow down as i ride this episode out, that's likely the reason. can't see myself losing interest in mota anytime soon but ik that if someone's usual writing pace suddenly slows down, ppl often jump to that conclusion (myself included lol) and i just want to make it clear i will Not be abandoning my fics and as of now, i'm still plowing ahead on all of them. AND THAT'S ALL FR BACK TO MY GOOGLE DOCS fuck do i think this is a journal?? jesus christ my bad

Goat Girl's motorway is for the girlies into... the indie girlies. Music to reflect on your life to.

JESSIE WARE!!!!!!! & ROMY's LIFT YOU UP! Feel good dance track. Just vibrant and joyful. What a lovely way to end Pride month.

Normani FINALLY released her album. Not mindblowing (and some of the teaser versions of songs are better) but it's enjoyable to listen to all the way through. Highlights are "All Yours" which feels luxurious, "Take my Time" which is sweet and pleasant, "Insomnia" which has a sprinkling of Daft Punk in some of the vocoding, and a more energetic "Little Secrets" which closes the album out. This is a solid debut which promises greater things down the line. Good sensibilities, just needs a bit more oomph.

Spinning off of that, check out "Endless Night" by Maeta.

Tove Lo & SG Lewis are back at it again with a mini EP! Let Me Go OH OH sounds the way Kylie's Love at First Sight MV looks, if that makes sense. Busy Girl is for Cunts on the Runway. Heat is for dancing at the club. Desire is a club mix track that is generic and yet perfectly calculated--like a chocolate chip cookie made up premium ingredients.

Megan Thee Stallion has an album out and narrowing this down to a handful of tracks is hard, even with singles excluded! Rattle is scathing and yet too cool for the haters. Down Stairs DJ combined with Where Them Girls At has convinced me she needs to collab with Cupcakke*. Worthy is summery and poppy. Spin with Victoria Monet will have you doing body rolls without even realizing, Otaku Hot Girl is a fun sample... I forgive her for insulting Sasuke avis I know where she's coming from lol.

Nayeon's album is kinda hit or miss to me but I love ABCD's bigger than life energy and the dance break in the MV. HalliGalli is just like refreshing fruit punch on a hot day

Despite not feeling the title track, Red Velvet did pull through with some music you can just float around to, Last Drop and Night Drive would be nice to wade into the ocean and stare up at the stars to. Bubble has an almost 80s Jpop veneer to it. And Love Arcade gives the album some energy it very much needed, lol. Not my fave RV project but not the bummer I expected!

She, this blog's namesake, has a new mini album! Spectral Touch and With You are expansions of She's Chiptune sound but maybe with some appeal you might find in Kavinsky's music--not the same sound at all but that sort of "driving at night through neon lights" type vibe.

The Used has a new album out, it's more of the same, but I loved the video game trailer bombasticness of Depression Personified and the return to an older whininess (said with fondness) in Before I Leave. Emos, check it out.

Catharsis by 9mm Parabellum Bullet is more rock music. Japanese and surprisingly melodic, this track is haunting. Maybe Buck-Tick enjoyers should check it out.

If you liked the Tove Lo ep, check out Baddy on the Floor by Jamie xx. Honey Dijon absolutely elevates this track into transcendence.

Amaarae said "Fountain Baby Part 2!!!" this! is a swooning afrobeats track, wanted is a song that crawls to you and up your body and grabs your hips, and sweeeet is such a natural evolution of Fountain Baby. This whole project is worth a listen!

TuNGSTeN is by Hiroyuki Sawano (TECHNICALLY a different project than my other shout out) and it's just evocative and makes me clutch at my chest but also wanna run.

Power of Two by Victoria Monet. Idk why she's doing a Star Wars song but... fuck, she hit it out of the fucking park. It's like of Kendrick/Sza's All the Stars had a dark, more cosmic child.

Lynch. has some more Japanese metalcore for anyone interested. Standouts are the frantic Un Deux Trois and A Fierce Blaze while the track Remains might appeal more to the crowd who wants more of the melodic bits that Catharis had. Buck-Tick fans I'm saying try out Remains. Not as good but you'll see the vibe

Getting no Sleep by Tinashe is a surprising follow up to Nasty but suuch a good follow up to her album BB/Angel and its more cerebral elements.

"Know You Did" by bongjeingan is a korean indie rock song not afraid to get WEIRD with it. This is a song that is everything all at once. Goes surprisingly hard at the end.

Somethin Bout You by The Knocks and Holiday87 ft Betsy feels like a dream of the 80s had by someone who passed out at the club after too much fruity drinks.

"Security" by Raleigh Ritchie (AKA LOUIS FROM IWT!V!) is a a more lowkey track than some on this but the lyrics are relatable and I remain charmed by his blunt writing style--he gets to the heart of the matter and carves at it.

OLDER MUSIC I'VE BEEN INTO:

"Shout" SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]. Type of song that worked great for a Trigger adventure anime (but not dunmeshi lol).

Selecta by Chase & Status ft Stefflon Don. Dancehall drum & bass great for playing a first person shooter. Click heads and bop.

talk to me about bojack horseman! Specifically your most unpopular opinions. I was on the Diane Defender Team for a long time and I remember a lot of men hated me for that lol. Luckily tumblr was cool.

Oh god how I love Bojack Horseman! It’s one of those very few shows that I would just….highly highly recommend to anyone & everyone to watch from start to finish & that I have very very few criticisms of like. It just had a perfect arc & every character was explored so thoughtfully & the ending hit every note I could’ve ever wanted. One of my top favorite shows of all time.

It’s SO hard to know what opinions I have that are unpopular given the lack of “fandom” the show has - which makes sense, it’s not really the type of show I’d read fanfic or “ship” characters in so like. I GET it but I also don’t know what opinions I have that are unpopular because I’m not familiar with the fandom opinions lol!

Like. People hate my best friend Diane??? I’ve heard it said that she’s hated before & I’ve watched a LOT of “in defense of Diane Nguyen” type video essays but I’ve also (thankfully) not seen people hating on her. I’m sorry I hate to be that person because subjective taste is a thing but I’m sorry if you hate Diane you’ve entirely missed the point? She’s so integral! Diane’s arc is so important!

Diane is the kind of character that a lesser show would make the “good kind feminist counterpart to BJ” but that Bojack Horseman (the show not necessarily always the character) recognized as a real messy flawed three dimensional human who YES calls Bojack on his shit but is often accidentally awful to both Bojack & everyone else in her mission to be a “good” person.

Diane is the picture of what idealism in a cynical world can lead to in a negative way. She wants to be this bold feminist with strong beliefs that will fight for what’s right but she often forgets the people around her in the frenzy of her fight to do what she perceives as “good.” And her arc!!!! I get so emotional thinking about Diane’s arc - about her relationship with Princess Carolyne & how Carolyn advised her to just write the schlocky detective books that made her happy because it’s the kind of stuff she’d want her daughter to get to read & about how she realizes that she doesn’t have to make her trauma beautiful she doesn’t have to make it her whole personality she can just write & have fun! And like. We see her give up on some of her ambitions & gain weight & accept that she needs to let go of her incredibly toxic friendship with Bojack & that’s okay & doesn’t have to mean she hates him or that either of them are evil - her arc is so incredibly real & relatable & unlike anything we typically see on TV & I love it.

Okay that wasn’t an unpopular opinion(or maybe it was? I hope not) it was just me rambling about how much I love Diane Nguyen but like. I really really do.

Bojack Horseman depicts so many things - generational trauma & toxic friendships & romantic & familial relationships & the way we traumatize other people because of our own trauma & the ability of ANYONE to grow & change even the most toxic horrible person you can imagine even if it takes decades to get there - that you just don’t see on regular tv. And it does it through funny talking cartoon animals so it’s not boring & it never feels pretentious just like it’s telling a story. And while it CAN be depressing it knows how to perfectly balance the vibe of comedy & absurdity so it’s not just painful to watch like it would be in live action or with human characters without the absurdist comedy aspect & it just perfectly balances entertainment with hard hitting themes.

Anyway. I don’t know what the popular & unpopular opinions are this just turned into me rambling about my love for the show. Thank you for coming to my ted talk & thank you for sending an ask 🫶🫶🫶

Leon Kennedy headcanons: Emotion & Personality

note: These are all based on Leon as he is in the RE4 remake.

This man is incredibly patient and level-headed. Definitely patient with service workers. There’s nothing to be mad about if he doesn’t have monsters or people trying to kill him. If someone obviously doesn’t care, however, it’s going to irritate him.

Leon is not aggressive with people (typically), but since RE2 he has developed a more aggressive music taste as a form of catharsis.

Anyone getting disenchanted Pisces vibes? Idealistic kind of guy, empathetic, but by the time of RE4 he’s definitely guarding that side of himself. He also might be a little numb. I might do an ‘astrology reading’ for him later, who knows.

Leon is totally fucked up over the fact that he was motivated to protect people because of what happened to his family, and then having those ideals totally obliterated by everyone on the force dying, getting manipulated by someone he trusted, and a corrupt system that has blackmailed him. In some way, his dreams and aspirations feel hollow. All he can do is keep surviving and working to protect Sherry and everyone he can; but being chained to corruption eats away at him.

He rarely cries because he’s afraid he won’t be able to stop. He’s got  a dam built up, and if it cracks, everything comes pouring out at  once.

After the events of RE4 when he gets back to his home, he’s just kind of going through the motions, until he suddenly breaks down and cries because all the stress, fear, and sadness for the people lost just hits him like a brick wall. Just randomly in the middle of making coffee or something.

He would really enjoy having someone around who could make him laugh. Hard to do, but boy will he warm up to someone so much more if they can get him to do that. Leon was motivated to protect Ashley from the get-go, but getting him to chuckle and joking with him made him develop a warmer feeling toward her.

I know Leon is hot and all but whenever I see this man’s eyes I feel like his dating life is just...kinda sad? Sure, he’s smooth and witty, but he fears if they look long enough, they’ll just see the depression oozing from his pores. He’s emotionally constipated at the moment, and he knows that’s not great for developing connections with people. One-night stands it is. He’s hot enough to land them when he needs to, and that’s about it.

RE4 remake Leon is markedly different from original RE4 Leon (read: water is wet), and while I see OG Leon making quips and trying to seduce his way into bed with someone, I don’t see Remake Leon laying it on as thick. I feel like he’s more quiet and prefers good atmosphere. Always picks a shadowy corner table. He’s a good listener, which makes his dates feel good and does him a favor in terms of getting them into his bed. He does want to get to know the person he’s going to fuck at least a little bit, so he does ask questions about them, only for it to be forgotten the morning after.

Doesn’t have a fuckbuddy. First, he doesn’t want to feel like he’s just using someone for sex, and second, he’s afraid of forming a connection. He can’t afford to do that in his line of work.

Considering that he’s pretty cold to Ada in the remake, I think it shows he knows how to set/maintain and respect BOUNDARIES, BABY! We love to see it. I’ll see myself out. If there are canon inconsistencies I apologize, I’m from the Silent Hill fandom and have fairly scant knowledge of RE in comparison lol.

Ruler is obvs based on "Flower King," Asgore's shop in deltarune. in this context however, Asgore lives a distance away from everyone else and is raising Ursus there while giving Toriel her space. Chara and Frisk meet up all the time.

For the first couple years after the barrier breaking, Chara would garden with Asgore until their depression hit hard and they began to distance themselves from everyone. Asgore's health declines (hes in his late 50 pre-time skip then ages 2x as fast with 2 boss monster kids) he can't garden out of arthritis and back problems. His garden becomes overgrown and he can't attend to it.

the garden represents a glorified version of childhood. Vibrant, controlled, perfect. Now it's overgrown, forgotten and chaotic. This represents your teenage years, full of change and unpredictablity.

Asgore decides to move closer to Undyne and get a live-in assistant now that Ursus is moving out for culinary school. In doing this, he's selling the land/greenhouse. They're going to tear it apart and replace it, ironically, with a flower shop.

This represents one way to take on adulthood. try to control these new changes through destruction (drugs, alcohol) and through capitalism. (work a shitty job for a shittier boss). Ruler is both destroying the Garden Darkworld to make money and to rule over them with a iron fist. (Or gold, lol!)

So the goal throughout darkworld is to help save the flower workers as well as the land they live in which, even without the construction worker's efforts, was already falling apart from the overgrowth. so we have a mix of flowers, wildlife, disrepaired garden items, and now construction tools. nature vs. heavy machinery vibes.

petunias represent either "anger and resentment" or "spend time with me" depending on the relationship you have with the recipient. In case of ruler, they hate them. with the party, its devotion. black petunias either mean death/bad luck or strength/individuality (fitting for the gloomy workers)

augh. thinking on it, i'm going have to make ruler more Crown/royal looking. better to contrast them with their flower subjects and show they're a force against nature rather than a part of it. that's going to be a toughie to design, as the crown only has 2 colors.

anyway i think it'd be cool to have Ruler represent the royal line and it's greed/corruption and how that connects to adulthood. (still relevant to Suzy as she was raised by snotty political humans) Raine would at first try to work alongside Ruler and convince them to have better policies but will realize it's a lost cause and they need to overthrow them. I'm thinking Monsterkid could act as a Birdly role, someone who isn't part of the party and even acts as an antagonist.

I'm not sure how exactly the darkworld stuff starts or ends tho. obvs Chara stops Asgore from selling the garden and Chara gets the wrong lesson from the journey (let the timeline loop forever). but after the main story the garden becomes a public space thats attended to by the community. uh. maybe Raine takes it over as well, showcasing them as the next true ruler.

The message being you can work alongside with the chaotic changes of life. instead of a small, cultivated greenhouse, you have an outdoor, open garden that accepts the local wild life rather than fighting against it.

That said about the actual characters of the darkworld 😰idk yet. i'm worried for them...

Gatty, 4 and/or 44!

Hi! I couldn’t figure out how to combine these two prompts so I filled them both separately, I hope that’s okay! I also, surprisingly really struggled with “4. Kiss…where it hurts” so I hope that it comes across as not the worst (you can also now find one of the really depressing attempts that I wrote on AO3 lol) and I'm not totally happy with it but I was making myself crazy so here it is! 😊

Even if the prompts were hard, I really enjoyed working on them and it was a really fun writing exercise so thank you so much for sending them in! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! 4. Kiss…where it hurts

Matty woke up crying. Curling in on himself as he squeezed his eyes shut and dug his fingers into his curls, tugging on the ringlets as if that would bring him relief. He was desperate, nails biting into his scalp as if he could tear the pain out of his own skull. His breath came out in short, frantic, choking gasps as he tried to stay silent, trembling beneath the covers so that he didn’t wake George. He was both overheating and freezing at the same time. His skin hurt, the blankets he had chosen specifically because they were soft felt like sandpaper, grating against his skin, scraping away the epidermis as they rubbed against his body, shifting with each hitching breath he took.   

His stomach rolled ominously and he clenched his abdominal muscles, panting through the sudden mouthful of thick saliva, mentally willing himself not to be sick. Please, he thought desperately, his stomach squeezing as he swallowed hard, his entire body shuddering. He dry heaved, drooling against his pillow. Please, he thought, please allow me the dignity of not throwing up on myself. 

He should have known, he thought, as he tried to find the strength to stagger to the bathroom, eyes squeezed shut against the glowing green light of George’s laptop charger on the nightstand. He should have known a migraine was coming, he had been irritable for days, picking fights and running his mouth, getting himself canceled again and then spiraling in self loathing as he was pelted with the backlash like rotten tomatoes in a vaudeville show.

There was only so much of it that George could take, there was only so much that Matty could expect him to take before he packed it up and called it quits. He had been shocked, that after storming out of the studio that afternoon, George had followed him home that evening, and had crawled into bed silently beside him. Matty hadn’t dared roll over, had barely taken a breath, had pretended to be asleep even though he was desperate for George to hold him, to tell him that he knew Matty was sorry, that it was going to be okay, that George knew Matty wasn’t as bad a person as they said. Matty knew he was worse. He wondered when George was going to know it too.

His migraine medication was in the bathroom cabinet, a nasal spray he was supposed to take at the onset of symptoms. He wished he had realized it had started days ago, a stiff neck that he attributed to falling asleep on the couch. The cravings and stomach pains he had attributed to stress and anxiety. The mood swings that were attributed to just Matty being Matty, said with disdain and resignation. George had danced around the subject, trying to find the right words to ask if he was still taking his medication, eyeing the pill bottles on the kitchen counter skeptically, as he tried to calculate how many capsules were left. 

His feet touched the floor and his knees instantly buckled as the room tilted sideways, his elbow hitting his own nightstand on the way down, knocking over his glass of water and his phone, soaking the device and sending pins and needles up his arm. He groaned, a disheveled heap on the floor. 

George sat up, turning his bedside lamp on, Matty envied the way he was able to go from sound asleep to wide awake in moments. Matty moaned, the light too bright even against his closed eyelids. He rested his cheek against the cool, polished cement floor of his bedroom. He wanted to just stay there, on the floor, forever.

“Mah-ee?” George slurred, his voice thick with sleep as he looked around, frowning when he realized that Matty wasn’t in bed beside him.  

Matty let out a pathetic whimper in response. He didn’t think he was capable of forming words at the moment. His tongue felt swollen and heavy in his mouth, a far cry from the lethal, cutting weapon he had wielded without care that morning.

“Mah-ee?” George asked, more alert now, pulling the blankets to the side. “What’s wrong?” 

Matty couldn’t answer, he just smashed his nose against the floor and tried to breath. He could barely think against the pain in his skull. 

“Migraine,” he slurred desperately, trying to find a way to get his legs underneath him again, trying to find a way to stand, find a way to get to the bathroom so he could get his medication. George quickly turned off the lamp, bathing the room in darkness. He must have set something over his laptop because even the glow of the charger was gone, the room perfectly pitch black, like a painting made with Vantablack . 

He felt George’s hands, gentle and kind against his sweat soaked back, maneuvering him carefully into a sitting position, Matty’s stomach rolled at the change in head carriage. 

“Are you going to be sick?” George asked softly, and Matty found himself nodding, pressing his forehead against George’s shoulder, breathing in his scent. Even at his sickest, repulsed by even the smell of his own body, George’s musk was a comfort, wrapping him in an embrace that seemed to say everything will be okay. 

“I’m going to pick you up,” said George, his voice low, Matty could feel vibrations of the timbre in his chest as the floor disappeared beneath him and he found himself bridal style in George’s arms. Matty squeezed his eyes shut as George completed the short walk to the bathroom, knowing the way by heart even in the darkness, one arm supporting Matty’s back, the other his legs. This wasn’t the first time they found themselves in this position, and Matty hated that it wouldn’t be the last. Guilt and self loathing mingling with the bile in his throat as he thought about the way he had treated George even just hours before, and the kindness with which he was now being handled. 

George deposited Matty carefully on the floor in front of the toilet, and pressed a kiss to his forehead, then to each scrunched up, closed eye as if he could take away Matty’s pain with his love alone. 

“I’m sorry,” Matty slurred, falling forward to bury his face in the toilet bowl, his stomach clenching as George carefully petted his curls, holding them back and out of the way. 

“I love you,” George responded, pressing another kiss to the crown of Matty’s head when he shuddered. 

44. Kiss ... out of lust 

George eyed Matty, transfixed as he sauntered across the stage, he moved with a sort of bastardized version of grace that was bewitching to watch. He was like a siren when he sang, batting his big brown eyes and biting his lip with a breathless whine at just the right moment, captivating his audience. Transfixing them, transfixing George. 

He had brushed up against a piece of their set earlier, George wasn’t entirely sure which bit, or when it had happened, and had snagged the thin, gauzy fabric of his top. George could see a faint line of the skin of Matty’s back between the fibers, pale and unblemished, just begging to have George’s manicured nails raked down the creamy expanse. George wanted to mark him, claim him, show everyone that he wasn’t theirs and he never would be. Matty was his.  

Wanting Matty wasn’t a new thing, but the impatient level of desperation, his dick straining against his zipper was one he hadn’t felt since he was twenty four years old. Matty would stand, basking in the glow of the spotlight, his shirt slipping from his shoulders, reminding him of a fifties movie star wrapped in a fur stole like Aphrodite herself gaining power from the adoration. 

The snag in his shirt had turned into a full on hole, growing larger as the fabric pulled against his sweat stained body when he moved, the new muscles in his shoulders and back rippling like ocean waves beneath his skin. George wanted to bite them, to lick them, to claim them, to feel the meat of them beneath his teeth where in the past he would have found nothing but bone. 

The Matty before him, climbing into the crowd, was so different from the Matty that George had fallen for all those years ago. The Matty that would fluctuate between a manic high and the lowest of lows, that would go days without food before binge eating until he was sick. The Matty  that would disappear for weeks at a time, reappearing covered in track marks and stinking of sex. The Matty that would George tossing and turning in his bed, in their bed, wondering if this time they wouldn’t find him, if this time he wouldn’t come home. But this Matty was healthy, this Matty was clean, this Matty had gained twenty five pounds, half of it muscle. George didn’t have to worry about breaking this Matty, not anymore. He was no longer terrified that he would shatter under his touch. 

Matty stumbled out of the crowd, grinning as he climbed back up onto the stage, his dress shoes slipping against the slick sides designed to keep fans from breaking down the barrier and bombaring their stage, putting their hands on Matty, claiming what was George’s. George wanted to get up from the drum kit, wanted to make his way to center stage, he wanted to dig his fingers into Matty’s curls, he wanted to make it hurt as he kissed him, show him who he belonged to before fucking him infront of God and the crowd. He wouldn’t do that though. He couldn’t do that, even as the animalistic part of his lizard brain screamed that they didn’t deserve Matty, they couldn’t have him. George didn’t share. Not anymore.  

His shirt was in shreds as he screamed the opened lines of “People” barely hanging onto his shoulders by a single button. The fans had grabbed at the already damaged fabric, desperate for a piece of Matty, for a piece of their idol. George was playing on autopilot as Matty writhed around on stage, the lyrics tearing themselves from his throat as if it caused him physical harm. He was almost surprised when the final notes rang out, and he found himself on his feet, subtly adjusting himself in his slacks before joining the rest of the guys at center stage. He dug his fingers into the back of Matty’s neck and Matty’s knees buckled, catching himself at the last moment as he looked at George, his pupils dilating with desire.

The second they were off the stage, George slammed Matty against an equipment trunk, still easily able to manhandle him despite the way he had bulked up in the last year. He ripped Matty’s shirt clean off his body, the black fabric having been barely hanging on by a single remaining button. He was like an angel losing his wings, falling, descending into debauchery and giving into carnal desire. 

“That was Dior,” Matty said, breaking off into a moan as George bit down on the junction of his neck and shoulder, slotting a knee between Matty’s legs, causing him to grind down desperately, needily on instinct as he thickened in his own trousers.  

“I don’t care,” George growled, licking over the pinpricks of blood, a perfect bloody replica of his dental records tarnishing Matty’s once perfect porcelain skin. Matty rolled his hips against George’s thigh, whining breathlessly even as his microphone pack dug into the small of his back. George wished he was still mic-ed up, wished that the dispersing crowd could hear how desperate Matty was, how overcome with lust he was, that he belonged fully to George. 

“I do,” Matty started to say before George covered his mouth with his own, biting at his lips as he licked into his mouth, suffocating Matty with his lust, making his head go heavy as he surrendered to desire. Matty’s arms found their way around George’s shoulders, his own blunt nails, bitten to the quick, digging desperately into George’s back, trying to pull him impossibly closer.

George broke the kiss, and Matty took a deep, trembling breath, his chest expanding as he panted, trying to bring the missing oxygen back into his lungs before surging forward, reconnecting their mouths. Why waste time with breathing when he could have George?

So I keep finding Fall Out Boy songs that are absolute VIBES and I really like their work! I'm wondering if you have any recommendations, since you're a huge fan. No pressure, of course!!

ok so there's like, songs I just really like. songs that are pretty deep cuts. and songs that have Lore behind them that make me absolutely insane. I'm gonna give you a few of each

obviously their hits are hits for a reason. Sugar is so much fun to sing. Dance, Dance has a wicked fun bass part. Immortals and Centuries are both simply iconic. Grand Theft Autumn is a classic. I also really love The Last Of The Real Ones

I really like Alone Together, Fake Out (obviously sndkdnskfk) — actually, Hazel, do me a solid and just listen to all of So Much (For) Stardust straight through one time if you want/have a chance. it's so worth the like, hour of your time — Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes, Bob Dylan, and Hold Me Tight Or Don't. they're super good songs lyrically and musically I love them dearly they're not like, radioplay popular but they're decently well known?

as for some deeper cuts basically all of Folie A Deux is a banger despite the morality of some of the songs being iffy lol but hey. it bops we gotta be real here. I really really like the title track off of Save Rock And Roll (it makes me a bit emotional considering the band's journey through the years yknow?) as well as Miss Missing You. The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes goes HARD. The Music Or The Misery is... a whole lot. Bang the Doldrums, an absolute BANGER of a song to jump around a room to, could technically go in the lore category but honestly. it's the song that would have been in Shrek 2 if DreamWorks weren't hecking cowards. The (After) Life Of The Party is one of my favorite songs EVER. Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) is basically my theme song.

as for like, Lore songs, Hum Hallelujah is actually one of THE songs that got me into FOB, as well as Coffee's For Closers — Hum is largely about FOB's lyricist and bassist's suicide attempt (not in a horribly depressing way actually, it's a reference and a homage to the song that he says saved his life), and CFC borrows lyrics from one of that guy's old blog post poetry things (which I actually reblogged earlier today). I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) (yes, by Fall Out Boy sjdkdksk) is also tangentially about Pete's attempt in that he wrote it around that time and it's very much about his own insecurities. a pretty dark, sad song but one I relate to a lot and it sounds SO pretty. Saturday, off their first (proper) record, is a song the lead singer wrote pretty much entirely about the band and specifically the aforementioned bassist/lyricist — very historical song but also the song I sing every time I get in the car to drive somewhere skdlfjssk.

Tagged by @rivetgoth to do my URL as song titles! Like in an acrostic way. Hold on, because once I start talking about music it's hard for me to shut up!

B - "Breathe" by Night Sins - One of my favorites of theirs. The new single has reminded me that I was obsessed with them throughout 2022 and part of 2023. Their music is pretty derivative, in the best way -- many of their songs sound like they were perhaps based on certain classic goth-adjacent songs. This one makes me think of "This Time of Night" by New Order.

L - "Life Itself" by Glass Animals - We first heard this song live in 2016, maybe a week or two after it was released. The show was fantastic. Their second album hadn't come out just yet (let alone "Heat Waves"!) and so nearly all of the songs we heard were from their first album, which I WORE OUT in 2014. But this song made an immediate impression. Somehow everyone in the audience apart from us already knew all the words, lol. I remember hearing everyone sing along and asking Brock, "What is this song and how does everyone know it?" but dancing like an idiot anyway. Eight years later I'm still not tired of it.

A - "Atlas Air" by Massive Attack - I have been trying to convince people that this album (Heligoland) had good songs on it, and I've been using this as a prime example. It's a perfect slow burn at nearly eight minutes long. I love the Middle Eastern influences that echo the subject matter and the explosive payoff of the outro.

C - "Cowgirl" by Underworld - A club classic for a reason! I have other favorite Underworld songs nowadays, but this one always goes over really well on the dance floor. Another excellent slow burn. Such good vibes and everyone loves it. You probably know it from Hackers, lol.

K - "Komboloy" by A-Head - I guess this is an X Marks the Pedwalk side project? I've only ever heard it in clubs in OKC, but it's another one that always gets people on the dance floor. My best friend heard it in my car one time and said the vocalist "woke up and decided to sound like a monster from the Labyrinth." I can't deny it.

C - "Close (to the Edit)" by the Art of Noise - I will die on the hill of referring to this song as EBM, lol. I first heard this on VH1 Classic and mostly remembered it because of the weird video. Heard it at a club in Tulsa a few years ago and was reminded that the song is also super cool. Later I found out it was also huge in '80s breakdancing circles, which is interesting to me with all the car sputtering, chainsaw noises, and the heavier beat.

H - "Happy up Here" by Royksopp - This is what the inside of my head sounds like when I'm staring off into space.

A - "Alive in the Night" by Sacred Skin - I love how danceable this band is, which is why it's funny that this is my second favorite of their songs. It is not danceable. It's like a goth power pop ballad. But the chorus gives me major goosebumps and I'll be damned if I can resist singing along in the car. Has one of my favorite bridges, too!

N - "New Decision" by Manufacture - A new favorite! IT'S SO CATCHY. I want this to be a club hit, but alas, it's 33 years old and that has not happened yet to my knowledge. I only heard it because I heard a couple of songs by this band and decided on a whim to listen to their two albums. Synthpop from the '90s is so tragically overlooked.

T - "True Colours" by Kite - One of my spring 2022 songs which means it's sometimes a little hard to listen to -- I was in the middle of a major crisis at the time, and the song is sad enough as it is. But this is my favorite example of Kite's DENSE synthscapes and brooding vibes. Listen when you're feeling wistful but like in a depressed way, lol.

I - "Iris" by TR/ST - Actually my favorite song by them! Now that I think of it, it's not dissimilar to the last song as it has the really thick-sounding synths, slow pulsating beat, and kind of bittersweet vibe. I WILL attempt to dance to it if I hear it played out (which has happened exactly once) even though it's like 90 bpm.

L - "L'appel du Vide" by Actors - I generally like them, but this song in particular is SO catchy and upbeat despite the darker lyrics. It is always getting stuck in my head. When people ask for examples of good newer post-punk I usually direct them to this song in particular.

L - "Land of Rape and Honey" by Ministry - This is one I've passively liked for a while, but then one of our local DJs started playing it semi-regularly and I remembered it existed and how much I enjoyed it. I've been listening to it a lot this spring. This is slightly on the heavier side of what I would normally listen to, but I adore the mechanical beat and the creatively used string sample. Also I appreciate that it's clearly a dance song and not as rock-oriented as some of the other songs on this album.

Y - "Young" by the Soft Moon - Still really sad about this guy dying. What a loss for the goth/industrial scene. This was one of my very favorites on this album; it really showcased his fusion of the post-punk and industrial genres. The slow, menacing beat is really effective.

My shitty ass birth name MIDDLE name was a family name. RN I'm sort of but not really officially named after an Oscar Wilde character (i chose the name but then sort of walked it back but I still go by the nickname/s that came from it)

2. Last time you cried?

Hm I'm not positive when it was but I know it was during a movie lol...

3. Do you want kids?

Nooo.. I think kids are great but I am not equipped to raise one and the idea of it scares me soooo bad

4. Sports?

I played soccer and basketball growing up. I'm too disabled to do most of them now tho luckily i can still do my favorite: swimming

5. Do you use sarcasm?

I don't know. I used to be extremely sarcastic but now I just think it's kind of mean LOL

6. First thing you notice about people?

Vibe hits me hard. I used to think I was some kind of psychic cos I just get these massive energy vibes from ppl. Second I probably notice their voice or if they have a cool outfit on.

Honestly one of the things I hate in idv is the toxicity that’s in it especially when the survivors are very toxic to the hunters it makes me sad and just want to comfort the hunter.

Like imagine in a match where Joseph (I love this man) has a very hard time with taking down the survivors. They kept on stunning him, hitting him with pallets, which eventually built up their confidence and ego. They started to mock and insult him while kiting him and the reader is just like standing there worried and guilty of how the extra “kiting” they were doing was unnecessary. She just carries on like usual decoding giving Joseph an apologetic look whenever she sees him until all cyphers were done and when she opened the gate her teammates were still harassing him. She yelled at them to hurry up and leave the gate, they all left not before giving Joseph one last “kiting” before quickly leaving except for the reader. She sees Joseph slowly walking to his camera before he turned to her looking confused yet tired and frustrated.

She would then walk up slowly and place a hand on his arm before leaning up and giving him a kiss on his cheek , apologised for the unnecessary extra harsh treatment her teammates gave him and telling him he can chair her.

As a hunter main: I hope the one thief that was mean to me for no reason steps on a lego! Anyway!

As for the Joseph, I don't know if he would be depressed about this considering he is just doing his job. Sure it is /annoying/ especially with some of the survivors get cocky-- Hell, hunters I think get that way too. Even more so. Survivors that do get cocky, ngl, it like one bit of control gained back after being /hunted/ and in a constant state of fear. However, cocky gets one in trouble so they prob tell each other often not to get cocky if the match is going in their favor.

First Officer and Naib prob will def say tht a lot as military men.

Joseph gives the 'i just want to go home and my shift hasnt even started' vibes and will only go mean if one actively being an asshat to him. He is not a Ithaqua or Ripper, there is no joy in this, it is a job so if you would all just not do the most then yay he can leave faster lol

the title track. i think fob just released one of my fave songs ever, it went to my top 5 from them so fast!!! it reminds me of how much the pandemic fucked up for everyone… “thought we had it all” fr!! but like. the strings??? the choir at the end?! SUNSHINE OF MY LIFETIME REPRISE?!?! SHUT UP FOREVER!!!!! (also my bday is the “day after christmas past” so i nearly screamed when i heard that line lmaooooo… followed immediately by “my pain isn’t cool enough”?! literally almost fell over at that point. that felt like an accidental shoutout and then getting punched directly in the gut 😭)

YESSSS the title track is INSANE with how good it is and how much is in it like. i swear every lyric hits Hard, the reprise absolutely breaks my heart it is so. Okay as a BTVS season-4 hater, and a season 6 skeptic

Why do you like season 6 (genuine question!)

Well, I won’t defend some of the choices in the final episodes (*cough* Seeing Red) BUT I think that people forget that the overall SEASON itself was very strong pre-finale. I also think that while the attempted rape & Tara’s death were poor writing choices made for shock value - Dark Willow was a phenomenal villain & Xander’s yellow crayon speech is one of the most intense, emotional, just GOOD scenes of the show & Buffy & Dawn fighting together side by side is exactly where their arc needed to go so it was very satisfying.

I do think though that a lot of people who dislike the season are perhaps… I don’t know, ignoring the overall season in favor of critiquing a few choices at the end. I don’t know if that’s your reason for skepticism, I’m making a wild guess based on fandom opinions I’ve seen & can understand.

To be honest, I don’t fully understand hating the season as a whole so it’s hard for me to defend it cause like…. What’s so bad about it? I guess it’s hard for me to explain / defend the season without understanding your criticisms fully. It has a few flaws & things that could’ve been done more smoothly but that’s true of EVERY Buffy season except perhaps season 5 which I can’t think of many criticisms for lol! Other than that I think every season has some flaws & I’m not sure I understand what makes season 6 as a season more flawed than the others.

Season 6 means a lot to me as someone had a serious low in my life & had to work through the mundanities of depression recovery & climbing up from rock bottom. Buffy’s return from the dead reads a lot like an allegory for coming back from a suicide attempt or something like it to me. Buffy’s journey navigating the world while navigating this feeling of disconnection hits harder for me than any other story about mental health ever has. I love that Buffy is a coming of age story but not just about high school! The entire story & every step of Buffy’s journey just means the world to me.

Willow’s downward spiral was also incredibly well done overall / for the most part. I mean…. Willow’s character arc from the meek shy sweet girl we meet in the first season to one of the scariest villains of the show is such a wonderfully written slow burn!

I’ve talked before about why I love the trio as villains, but I do! I think they’re entertaining & compelling villains & I love them.

I also just think the season does a FANTASTIC job at something rare - & that’s balancing the freaking vibe!!!!

I love dark themes in media but I often don’t enjoy “dark” shows because they go all in with the depressing bleak vibes to the point of not even being fun or entertaining. Buffy season 6 is hilarious! There’s a monster that looks like a penis & comes out of an old woman’s head to eat fast food workers! There’s a musical theatre episode! Tabula Rasa? Hellooo?? Don’t get me started on the trio! And it all feels right & maintains the dark vibes of the season with black comedy that fits the moment.

Season 6 is just an absolute blast to me, it’s definitely my most re watched season. The episodes are all so entertaining & I love it. Thank you for asking!
