Tagged by @vampiricfruitcake thank you~, haven't done these in a while so it's nice -w-
Favourite colour: Deep dark red, purples, blue (..wait, do I like Gale partly because he's purple/blue themed?)
Last song: Thunder bringer from Epic the Musical 👌👌
Currently reading:
youtube
Just stab me now by Jill Bearup (i feel like I don't understand some of the political plot and I don't know if it's the feature of the meta narrative)
Descendant of the Crane by Joan He (about midpoint in it, more quiet than I thought but it's been good)
Heir to thorn and flame by Ben Alderson (possible trashy powerplay-lovetriangle romance between prince, servant pretending to be a prince and a dragon rider, I don't know yet, only on page 40.)
Sunbringer by Hannah Kaner (sequel to Godkiller which I really liked)
The last unicorn by Peter S. Beagle (it slowed down but language at points is so pretty and "have a taco." without explanation in a world it shouldn't be still cracks me up)
Fate be changed by Farrah Rochon (I flipflop being interested in continuing this)
On top of all of those, I have Song of silver, flame like night duology by Amelie Wen Zhao, Night hunt by Alexandra Christo, Bonesmith by Nicki Pau Preto, Counterpart by Elle Pyne, Mask of shadows by Linsey Miller and I'm afraid you've got dragons by Peter.S.Beagle waiting for me to read them.
Currently watching: My adventures with superman and rewatching second season of House slowly because I'm more nauseated by it than I was when I was younger. With the idea on getting to episodes I have never seen.
Currently craving: .....new sweet endhawks fanart? And Amphibia season 2 and 3 coming to Disney+. And Book of Bill and Reckoning of Roku coming out already.
Coffee or tea: Coffee, coffee in the morning and in the evening, but not after 21.
Tagging @vieraslaji, @commodorecliche and @fenrhi, but no pressure to do this :>

Places to eat in London : Part 2
Tumblr media
THE OLD BANK OF ENGLAND
Fleet Road, London
A photo similar to this basically led me to search up The Old Bank of England on google. It is probably the most curious courtyard I have ever seen because of the double-decker parked inside which, in fact, have tables inside for dining. Note that this is just a small area of the pub/restaurant. Th e inside of the old Law Court's branch of the old Bank of England has one of the most spectacular interior in all pubs of London and I am just so glad I stumbled upon this on Facebook.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To secure seats especially for a large group, it is always best to reserve a table during the evenings when the pub literally is swarmed. I have been here twice and the second one was in the middle of the day. I expected it to be almost empty but I was wrong. People from the neighbouring offices take their lunch breaks here coupled with day-drinking as well.
Tumblr media
Since we were just here for the beer and the instagram photo-op. we just ordered one of their heritage beers, the Rivertown pils. And because we just had a huge dinner before this, we ordered just a few small appetisers. We got the KING PRAWNS PIL PIL, STICKY THAI CHICKEN BITES, AND COD GOUJONS. They were in small portions but very tasteful!
Tumblr media
The interior of the Old Bank of England is massive and I am going to make a separate blog on this with all the gazillion of instagram photos I managed to take.
Book here www.oldbankofengland.com.
CHAI GUYS, COVENT GARDEN
Seven Dials Market, London
Tumblr media
Not a place to eat but my friend, Sarjo, highly recommended this place for the best chai tea latte. She apparently went here last year and purchased one of their tea in tin cans and she decided to grab a different one this time around. We were so thirsty from all the walking so we got us iced chai tea lattes.
Tumblr media
I really love how they really said it with confidence that they are the best chai in London but inserted the "probably" just to be down-to-earth. Haha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is me and my gorgeous friend, Sarjo, enjoying our chais. And, of course, a photo of us standing next to a cucumber-themed photobooth at Seven Dials that wasn't even functioning.
Click the photo below to order their chai tea for your next home-brew!
Tumblr media
PRETO BRAZILIAN STEAKHOUSE, VICTORIA
Wilton Road, London
Tumblr media
I haven't had Brazilian food before so when the idea came up, I was a little bit skeptical. My college friend really insisted that we go to this Brazilian buffet where they go around and serve freshly grilled meat in skewers. The idea sounded so good but I wasn't sure if I was up to it since I have been craving Chinese food at that time. But then when we got inside the restaurant, the vibe was on! The salads that were on display were so vibrant, the wide array of side dishes were five-star, and their beans with tender pork ribs was so incredible I could almost cry. That was probably my favorite! They kept on serving us grilled meat too so I was literally full to the brim in an instant. This was a no-brainer, it is one of the best buffets I have ever had in my entire life. Men with huge appetite should eat here (like my boyfriend lol).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I finally had to wave my white flag (or shall I say flipped my card to say NO to their delicious barbecued meat or known as "churrasco" in Brazil). They have this clever way of signalling the waiters to keep the meat coming with a card that say "More, Please" and of course says the opposite if you flip it. The next time I am coming to Preto for the Brazilian food buffet, I'll make sure I'll have the whole day to just sit and take it slow, skip meals before hand, and probably save the beans for last. :)
THE RUM KITCHEN, BRIXTON
Coldharbour, London
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We walked into the restaurant and we were already greeted by a tables full of people of what seem to be extended families, group of friends, locals, patrons... all of them seem to be feeling really at home in The Rum Kitchen. But I can see why. The restaurant gives off such a home-y vibe. The music, the flavourful Carribean, and an order of cocktail during the ¨happy hour¨ are the key ingredients to an amazing food experience with friends and families.
Brixton is easily one of the places in London that they'd warn tourists about because of its reputation for having high crime rate and drug-related issues. But that was in the past. Brixton is one of London's revitalisation projects to recreate once more as a vibrant side of the town. The southern neighbourhood is still worth seeing though because of the food offers. And Brixton has an abundance of food products that cater to African culinary.
MIHBAJ, CAFÉ AND KITCHEN, PADDINGTON
Præd Street, London
There's nothing like ending the tour here in London with a full English breakfast. We were checked-in at a hotel in Paddington and we decided we didn't wanna walk kilometers to the best Google recommendation. We just had to find a breakfast place nearby. Mihbaj Cafe was a super cute corner for breakfast and catching up with an old friend.
Me and Andrei both got us two English breakfasts with sunny-side up eggs on sourdough, spiced sausages, mushroom, & homemade white beans (fasolia) in tomato sauce. We sat in a corner with our feet up, just chilling and enjoying the filtered light coming from above our heads. Get inspired and check out their instagram @mihbaj.

FairyLoot Unboxing
Reap What You Sow August 2023
I really love this box, it's very cohesive! The theme is "Reap What You Sow".
The featured book is "Bonesmith" by Nicki Pau Preto. The book sounds pretty interesting. It's described as "Gideon the Ninth meets Game of Thrones" which are two books I wanted to like but didn't. But it was the writing style I didn't like, so I'm hoping this one will work for me. The recoloured cover isn't as nice as the original, it's just a bit gloomy. And the foiling on the hardcase isn't very impressive. But there are some really incredible features - the full artwork endpapers are different at each end, and both are gorgeous. The dust jacket is reversible, and the alternative cover is really nice, I'm definitely going to be displaying that one instead. And best of all, the edges are amazing - they're full artwork, and match the cover!
The first item is a glass tumbler. I've got a smaller one of these, which I love, so I'll probably use this too. This one features a quote from "Belladonna".
The next item is a set of page tabs. These are inspired by "The Bone Season". These are really pretty, and they come on a handy snap-in ruler. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in my journal.
Next is a pair of bookends. These are inspired by "Gideon the Ninth". I didn't like the book, but I love the design of these bookends! And you can never have too many bookends, I've got like, ten sets, and I always need more.
Next is a set of metal straws. These have a skull theme. This is the one item I don't like, I just think reusable straws are icky. It's an OCD thing. We've had a few sets in recent boxes, and I've run out of people to give them to.
The last item is a sticker sheet. They have a gothic theme, and they'll be great in my planner around halloween.
This month's tarot cards are Wren and Julian, from "Bonesmith".

The boys of Huaxia dream of pairing up with girls to pilot Chrysalises, giant transforming robots that can battle the mecha aliens that lurk beyond the Great Wall. It doesn't matter that the girls often die from the mental strain.
When 18-year-old Zetian offers herself up as a concubine-pilot, it's to assassinate the ace male pilot responsible for her sister's death. But she gets her vengeance in a way nobody expected—she kills him through the psychic link between pilots and emerges from the cockpit unscathed. She is labeled an Iron Widow, a much-feared and much-silenced kind of female pilot who can sacrifice boys to power up Chrysalises instead.
To tame her unnerving yet invaluable mental strength, she is paired up with Li Shimin, the strongest and most controversial male pilot in Huaxia. But now that Zetian has had a taste of power, she will not cower so easily. She will miss no opportunity to leverage their combined might and infamy to survive attempt after attempt on her life, until she can figure out exactly why the pilot system works in its misogynist way—and stop more girls from being sacrificed.

hc + 👗 for a clothes-themed headcanon
"Meu estilo no dia a dia é casual e descontraído, focado no conforto e praticidade.

O motor continua ligado, o excêntrico viewer permanece no interior do auto apenas assistindo a cena.

Fairyloot YA Fantasy August 2023 spoilers
Hi all! I know I'm a bit late with this one, but I finally have the August 2023 YA Fantasy post for you! This box arrived a little later than usual due to a manufacturing delay, which means I should have the September box to share pretty soon too. The August YA fantasy theme is "Reap What You Sow" and features the book Bonesmith by Nicki Pau Preto. It looks like it's the first book in a series!
The cover is a different style than I'm used to seeing from Fairyloot, but I really like it! It definitely has a spooky motif, which is fun we're getting close to Halloween. I might save this book to read when the autumn weather really kicks in.
There are lots of exciting extras in this box, including prints, tarot cards with character art from Bonesmith, a bookmark, stickers, and page flags for marking book/notebook pages. There's also a set of four metal straws with skull art printed on them, along with a bag to store the straws and a cleaning brush. Additionally this box came with a set of white metal skull bookends (again with the spooky theme!) and a glass tumbler with a glass straw and bamboo lid. The tumbler has a quote from Belladonna by Adalyn Grace and a really pretty purple floral theme. I've already used the tumbler for coffee and it's really nice quality.
I'm looking forward to this one. I am so ready for fall and I think this will be the perfect book to get me into my spooky-season mindset.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media

On the run
A playboy comedian flees from the Mafia only to conclude there is no escape.
The theme is not new but the perspective is more towards psychological drama than towards thriller or cop/mob movie.
Beautiful cinematography in black and white by Ghislain Cloquet, a sure direction by Arthur Penn and a protagonist, Warren Beatty, still very young, but already full of charisma.
An interesting film that also provides a convincing journey into the world of show business in the small urban clubs of the American sixties.
