Oblivious Actions Part 2 of 2
Revali x Reader
5827 words (hey you asked for a big boi so)
Part 1
Thank you for your patience! I really love how this turned out, even though I suck at endings. Critiques and any typo finds are appreciated if I missed anything. Anyway, enjoy!
Music filled the air, the stable was lively, and full of chatter. Understandable, considering it wasn’t everyday the Champions would grace the common folk with their presence. Many travelers were already making their way up the bridges to Rito Village, in anticipation for the Champion celebratory party set for that night. Around Rito Stable, workers had begun lighting up amber lanterns, in preparation for the sun setting in a few hours. A few Hylians were walking about. One Sheikah was playing his instrument by the campfire, humming a familiar tune, while others watched and danced along. Rito and Hylian children zigzagged between the large, wooden crates, painted with the Hyrulean crest. A worker with a maroon tunic was stirring a large pot of stew, its savoury aroma filling every part of the woods. The winds rustled through the dancing trees, creating its own, cutting melody. However, the chill was not felt from within.
Inside, the curtains by the stable entrance were half drawn, people lounged around tables, talking and eating. Warm, yellow light illuminated the room, the lanterns occasionally flickering. Workers and guests clattered about. A few men in the corner were on their third pint of ale, while a few Rito women were giggling from across the room, staring at a particular Rito and Gerudo.
He hadn’t bothered to wear his blue scarf, even though he adored it (and he would never say so out loud), he found that its emblem attracted much unwanted attention. Urbosa, on the other hand, had her sky blue skirt on, draped across the stool she was sitting on. It was the figure of a Gerudo so far into the Tabantha Region, combined with her Champion status that attracted attention. So in essence, it was her that negated any efforts Revali made to stay away from the crowds. He leaned back in his seat, staring at the ceiling restlessly, waiting for her to be finished with the last of the lingering fans.
With a flick of her wrist, Urbosa finished writing her name across the piece of parchment. The black ink at the tip of the quill soaked into the paper, leaving Urbosa’s cursive name in large letters. A thin and lanky Hylian man took it excitedly.
“T-thank you, Chief Lady Urbosa ma’am! Really! Truly! This means a lot, I’m going to— I mean… my kids are gonna love this.”
The Gerudo gave him a kind look and tilted her head, her emerald eyes gleamed. There was not a sliver of annoyance or mocking on her face. “It’s not a problem at all, sir. I find it encouraging whenever people come up to greet and support us. Don’t you think, Revali?”
Although the blank, wooden image of the ceiling was very entertaining, Rito pried his gaze away and narrowed his eyes at the two of them. The man was rocking back and forth on his heels, hugging two pieces of paper to his chest. One, already autographed with Urbosa’s loopy handwriting. The other, blank and waiting. His posture was jittery and nervous. The Hylian was switching his gaze between the Rito and the quill on the table.
Ugh.
“Why yes, Champion Urbosa. It’s always nice to meet the adoring fans.” Revali enunciated the end of the sentence carefully. He continued with a regal tone. “Especially, since we’ve wasted the last hour of our free time watching you write the same word over and over. Theoretically speaking, we have greatly supported the ink business with our presence alone.” He leaned forward, speaking directly to the Hylian. “However, I think we’ve taken enough of this gentleman’s time, so why don’t we send him on his way. After all, I’m sure there are more actually important matters that we all need to attend too.” He flicked his wing in a motion towards the stable exit.
A beat of silence. Then, the Hylian started to sputter, his cheeks reddening. “O-Oh... oh-oh yes, yes! Of course! I’ll just…” he took a shaky step back, “...be on, my, way, then. Thank you very much for your time!” He shuffled outside, nearly tripping on the step out the exit.
Letting out a huff of air, the Gerudo Chief muttered under her breath. “Ink business...hilarious as always, Revali.” He let a smirk cross over his feathered face, “Yes, I already knew that, thank you.”
Revali turned his gaze back towards the ceiling, finding comfort in the fact that all the pestering fans were gone. Urbosa rolled her eyes. “Would it kill you to be nice? Or at the very least, polite?” He scoffed.
“I don’t think having to endure lines of mindless devotees is part of our job description. Last I checked, I was chosen for my masterful skill set and bond with Medoh, not my penmanship.”
She gave a tired sigh. “We both know that’s not the point, it’s about inspiration and giving people hope.”
“If people are so eager to have my name on a piece of paper,” he picked up the quill the Hylian had accidentally left on their table, “they can write it out themselves. By this point most people have the ability to spell, correct?”
The two continued their idle banter for a bit. The conversation at this point was mostly out of a lack of other things to do, as no food or drink had arrived yet. Then, another Hylian approached their table, cheerfully.
“Excuse me, Champions, I have—”
“OH for the love of Hylia!” the Rito interrupted, “I’m afraid I’m not in the mood to deal with whatever requests you have for me.” He held his head towards the ceiling, exasperated.
“So pardon my bluntness, but why don’t you—”
“Revali,” Urbosa interjected.
He looked back towards her, a sarcastic response already at the tip of his beak. That was when he caught a glance at the Hylian woman in question.
She was holding up a wooden tray, dark and stained. A large pitcher sat on top of it, and she balanced two cups on either end. Her leather cap sat lopsided on her yellow hair. The symbol of a horse etched onto the fabric of their hat and tunic. The look on her face was that of confusion.
“Oh.”
The stable worker cleared her throat with a forced cough. “Um, you ordered the apple cider, right Champion Revali?” She set the cups down without waiting for a response. The Rito fixed his eyes on his drink, mumbling. “Yes, thank you Lucile.” At least, that’s what he thought her name was. He couldn’t bother to remember all of [Name]’s friends. The bronze colored liquid swirled in his cup.
Attempting to lighten the mood, Urbosa quipped in. “It wouldn’t be very responsible of me to let him get drunk, lest he become even more dramatic than usual.” She exchanged a quiet laugh with the waiter. Revali clicked his tongue. “I am in no need of your motherly supervision, Urbosa. Besides,” he laid his wing across his chest, theatrically, “I’m sure I can handle my drink much better than anyone here ever could.” At that, Urbosa gave a wink towards the waiter, whispering something about ego.
After pouring their drinks, the Hylian that was probably named Lucile put the pitcher back on the tray. “Alright, well, call for a refill when you want it. And don’t worry about the price or anything. [Name] said to put the rupees on their tab.”
At the mention of their name, Revali perked up. “Wait, Lucile, I noticed I haven’t seen [Name] around yet. Are they…?” he let his voice trail off. It’s not like he cared that much, he was just curious. He hadn’t seen them all day. It’s not like he was looking forward to their interactions or anything. Yeah, curious, that was the word.
“If you’re referring to your little get together later, they’re still on for that.” Lucile gave a warm and knowing smile. “The place is busier than usual, thanks to you guys. So it’s ‘all hands on deck’ if ya know what I mean.”  She gave a quick nod outside, where a savoury aroma was starting to swirl its way inside. “They’re making your on the house dinner right now, so just wait a little bit longer.” Lucile tucked her blonde hair behind her ears, and picked up the tray. “Okie dokie, then. I’ll be seeing you.”
The Rito allowed himself to look outside. The view was partly obstructed by the purpleish curtains on either side, but the unmistakable glow of embers and flickering firelight could be seen. Craning his head forward a bit, he caught a glimpse of a coffee colored boot in front of a cooking pot, tapping along with the music. Huh, only one stable worker he knew would still be dancing along to the music despite working all day. Revali thought back to that time when [Name] would force him to sing along with the sparrows, just to annoy him. Or how he would invite them to Warblers nest to listen to the Rito kids chirp their tunes. I wonder how they’re doing, have they been working all day? Have they taken a break yet? I know I’ve been caught up with Champion duties, but maybe tonight—
“Wandering eyes kill, little Rito.”
Snapping back into reality, Revali quickly blinked and turned to face Urbosa. There was a calm and almost pitiful tone in her voice that he wasn’t exactly thrilled to be at the end of.
“Ah, my apologies. I should have asked for your permission to use my sense of vision.”
Unbothered by his comment, she kept the smirk on her face. “You know, I’ve never seen you laugh so easily until the other day.” He let out a loud scoff. What was that supposed to mean? Am I not allowed to express emotion on duty? Perhaps I should don the same stupid expression as that little knight.
“Well, perhaps that’s because everyone else in the group is boring.”
Urbosa leaned forward in her seat, letting her elbows rest on the table. “Let down the act, Revali. Everyone can see the big picture but you.”
“What are we even talking about?”
“[Name]”
“Uh-huh. Right, I think it would save us both time if you bothered to be specific in what you mean.” He lifted his wings in fake surrender. “What about them? You insulted by their choice in flower crowns? ”
Putting his wings down, he went for his drink. Taking up the cup of cider, Revali lifted it towards his face, using it as an excuse to not continue further into the conversation Urbosa so clearly wanted to have. Urbosa let out a huff of air. “Look, I’m just trying to compliment you two. You really are a cute couple.”
Instinctively turning to the side, Revali spat out his drink wildly. His coughing fit caused the surrounding conversations in the stable to trickle into curious whispers. A few other Rito in the back were giggling. Thankfully, he hadn’t sprayed anyone as no one was in range. He wiped down the front of his clothes and part of the table with his wing. He cleared his throat and half stood up, addressing the people that were looking at him quizzically. Revali’s voice raised in pitch and his speech quickened.
“AHEM! Wow, that was absolutely appalling and disgusting. I can’t believe the staff would be so careless as to let a dragonfly swirl around in my cup! I WILL be sure to speak with someone later concerning the cleanliness and hygienic practices of this place. So...yeah…” he let his voice echo in the room for a few more moments before sitting back down completely. Urbosa’s hands were folded as if in prayer, but her fingertips were pushed in front of her lips, as if to keep from laughing.
“Great save.”
“Shut up, will you? What in the hells did you just say? Couple? I think you’re clearly misreading things.”
She let out a short laugh. “Well, the fact that you reacted so enthusiastically says otherwise.”
“Wha—what…?” He shook his head quickly. “Urbosa, whatever you think you saw the other day isn’t what you think. [Name] and I are very obviously not dating, or seeing each other, or whatever your proper terminology is.”
“You both are very obviously into each other. You always hang out, you have cute banter. You’re dating, no?”
“NO!” He quickly shushed her comment, lowering his own voice and glancing around to see if anyone else was listening in. “The answer is NO because I don’t even like them that much. They’re very stupid, and unattractive, not to mention a Hylian. They’re an acquaintance at most. Maybe a friend.” He propped his own wing on the table and rested his beak on it. “Or close friend. A confidant...or—agh! Point is we’re not whatever you think we are!”
Urbosa let out a huff of air, letting her shoulders slump. “For a Rito, you are quite blind.”
He went for his cup again, fiddling with the chipped white paint that decorated the side. Revali didn’t bother to look up at Urbosa, for fear of unconsciously communicating something with his eyes. “Fine, then. Please, enlighten me into what I am so blind to.”
She furrowed her brows in confusion. Was he seriously not getting it? “You and [Name] seem to talk and visit each other all the time, considering you even know the staff here. You both have known each other since childhood, no doubt you’ve formed a bond. Both of you were so incredibly flustered just being in each other’s presence yesterday. Also,” she held up her head to imitate Revali’s posture, “You look pretty too!’ Does that comment ring any bells? Come on, Revali. And this is only the stuff I’ve seen in one day.”
Shocked and speechless, Revali let the silence between them settle for a bit. He considered her argument, thinking over what to say next. “OK fine, I tolerate them. Sure. That doesn’t mean it happens both ways…”
The Gerudo Chief looked as if Revali had just told her that the current King of Hyrule was five stacked cuccos. “They practically invited you for a date earlier.”
“But, we do that all the time.”
“You do!?” it was Urbosa’s turn to be shocked.
“Wait,” Revali narrowed his eyes, wheels turned in his head. Did that time he invited [Name] to watch his archery practice count? Or when [Name] had baked him a fish pie when he came to visit them even though they were sick? Wait, wait, no. Friends do that all the time, that’s absurd. Yet, he couldn’t ignore the incessant fluttering in his stomach whenever he thought about braiding their hair...or laughing beside them...or— ah! What did it all mean? He scrunched his face in confusion, lowering his voice to a whisper, “Have we already...what does...are we dating?”
Urbosa held the bridge of her nose with her fingers, sighing. “Everyone with eyes can see it. You are.”
Revali practically squaked. “WE’VE BEEN DATING?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, you’re... dating Urbosa?”
Both Revali and Urbosa whipped around in unison to face [Name], who was standing behind them holding two hot bowls of spicy meat stew.
Spirits bless his quivering soul, [Name] was here. There were still droplets of cider on his clothes, his braids were probably all frizzled from the trip down here. Was what he was wearing too formal? Too casual? Maybe he should have worn something more colorful. Hold on, was [Name] wearing their hair differently? When did they start wearing that yellow ribbon? It looked nice...should he say something? What was that new leather pouch on their belt, did someone give them that? Why all these changes? Are they seeing someone? Well it would be fine if they were...considering they were just friends. Right, they were friends— Wait a moment, did they just ask if he was dating Urbosa??
The Gerudo Champion, ever quick to regain her composure, was the first to respond. “Unfortunately, no. I’m afraid I’m a bit out of the Rito Champions league. We were talking about something else.”
The slight tension in [Name]’s shoulders relaxed, just barely noticeable. They chuckled, setting down the stews. “Ah-ha, well that’s good. Hylia knows Revali’s much more trouble than he’s worth.”
The Rito in question, who had still been sputtering over the several revelations he had come across over the last few minutes, finally regained the ability to formulate words. “...What? Hey! I’m right here!”
“Oh, sorry about that!” [Name] leaned down to face him, “I didn’t see you there. When you’re sitting down, you’re even shorter than usual! ” To further add to their quip, [Name] booped the tip of his beak with the end of a spoon. The feathers on his neck poofed up from embarrassment, though probably no one but him noticed. After placing napkins and silverware on the table, [Name] gave a deep, exaggerated bow. Their leather pouch hung out, half-open, revealing a few colorful hair ribbons. “Enjoy the meal, and thank you for staying with us, esteemed Champions,” their words were more of a tease towards Revali. “Just holler if you need anything, Revali! I’ll see you...later.” And with that, [Name] strode back outside, the brisk breeze fluttering the edges of their maroon tunic.
Revali’s thoughts were racing. Mainly centered around one word.
Whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhy
Urbosa looked at Revali, a twinkle in her eye. “Truly, you are made for each other. They’re the only one I’ve seen with the ability to actually make you shut up.”
Ignoring her comment, the Rito continued to stare at [Name] as she bantered with the other guests and workers outside. Then, he exhaled quickly, muttering comments that would make any mother click their tongue. Attempting to alleviate the tension, Urbosa asked, “Can I ask you a question?”
Quickly rebuilding his walls, Revali let out the usual quip. “You just did, but you have my permission to ask a secondary one.”
“Do you believe they like you back?”
He rolled his eyes. “Ugh, spare me your useless fledgling gossip and prattle. What are you going to do, exchange handwritten love letters between us? Unfold the schoolyard drama? Maybe later we can skip around in circles as we talk about our crushes before bedtime.”
She rolled her eyes. It might as well be an exercise when around Revali. “How about you answer the question?”
He turned away, looking outside and watching the dancing trees and people. “[Name] and I have been friends for years. I think I’d know if we had mutual feelings.”
Taking a napkin and placing it on her lap. She focused on enjoying her meal. “Oh but you do. You’re both clearly head over heels for each other already. Considering you're already basically dating.”
Turning back to face her, he started sputtering. “Wait, wait. Let’s back up, shall we? If we’re, as you said, basically dating, does that mean they know this? Do...do they already consider me their significant other? Do they know we’re…” he lowered his voice again, gesturing at himself wildly, “...you know.”
Urbosa slurped her stew, but held Revali’s gaze. She enjoyed its warmth and savory smell for several, several, several long seconds, still looking Revali in the eye. He spread his wings, exasperated. “Your condescending stares aren’t improving the situation.”
Finally, she finished her sip, giving a satisfied sigh. The spicy taste tingled in her mouth. “Mmm. Delicious. [Name]’s cute and a good cook. You have good taste.”
“Did you just make a pun?”
“Pfft, like you haven’t done that before?” Revali responded with a grimace.
The Rito asked again, “Can you just please take this seriously and help me with all this? You should already be flattered that I’m even bothering to continue this conversation with you. I don’t just babble about [Name] with anyone. So just...tsk...I don’t know, grace me with whatever wisdom you have.”
Urbosa raised an eyebrow, “Oh? Why should I? I’m not your mother or anything…” She flipped her velvet hair and looked away dramatically. Seems the Rito’s personality rubbed off on her.
Revali rolled his eyes, “Are you really going to make me—”
“Yes.” she said bluntly.
“Well, I’m not—”
“Hm?”
“I said—”
“What?”
“Can you—”
“Yes?”
Revali sat there, eyes narrowed. Seems there was only one way he was gonna get her to talk. Urbosa gave a hearty laugh, her chocolate smooth voice echoing through the room. She kept her eyebrows raised, looking at him expectantly. After letting out another sigh, the Rito grumbled, barely opening his beak. “Can you please help me with all this...” Urbosa cupped a hand around her ear, a smirk plaster on her face. Revali quickened his speech. “...ugh you’re insufferable...considering you are the closest thing to a parental figure in my life and you’re more of an expert in this than I am, please tell me what in the hells I should do about [Name]—THERE! Happy?”
She started chuckling again, laughter must come easy for her. Shooting him a wink, Urbosa mused, “I think that’s satisfactory. Was that so hard?”
“Very.”
She snorted. Leaning back in her seat, she jeered him further. “Alright, maybe I won’t let you crash and burn this cute relationship of yours, considering it’s my responsibility to look out for all the little children in my life.” Revali scoffed.
Before he had the chance to nag her further, Urbosa continued. “So, Revali, from my own expert deductions on your whole,” she moved her spoon towards him in a circular motion, “situation, I’ve concluded that you’re both idiots.” He grumbled and shot daggers at her.
“Thank you. Very helpful.”
“You’re welcome. Now,” she set down her spoon, “Listen close and listen well, Revali. You’re both in the same boat here. [Name] didn’t react that badly at the prospect of you going out with me. However, their eyes immediately lit up when I clarified that you were not, infact, taken.
“This means that they also don’t realize the obvious fact that you’re dating each other. Yet, they reacted with a hint of jealousy, so there’s no question they’ve got it for you.” Revali shifted in his seat, but allowed her to resume.
“They were completely oblivious to Daruk’s earlier comment about you being cute together. Yet, they’ve continuously made moves that suggest they really like you. Did you see their face when you put your wing around them yesterday?” She sighed. “ Who knows what other signs you’ve both been oblivious to all your lives.” Finally, she leaned forward and pointed a finger at Revali.
“You’re both too lovestruck to see how lovestruck your loves are for you.” Then, she went for her drink, sipping it slowly.
Taking her silence as a cue to speak, he asked softly. “Alright, so what do I do?”
“I don’t know,” was all that came from behind the cup.
He practically squaked again. “What? But? You just? Why—”
She held up a finger to shush him. “The best I can say is that you should probably openly confess so there’s not anymore confusion between you two fools. How, where, and when? Well that’s entirely up to you. Maybe at the party tonight you can whip up something.”
The likelihood of someone like [Name] showing up to a party filled with stuffy nobles, pestering fans, and overall loud people seemed slim. From experience, Revali probably thought [Name] would spend the night in the woods or something, searching for wildflowers. “I can assure you that’s not going to happen.”
Urbosa gave a final shrug. “Well then, good luck.” She went back to eating the rest of her meal.
Revali cast his eyes to the floor, deep in thought. What was he gonna do?
Several minutes passed, and Urbosa basked in the rare occurance of the Rito Champion's silence. Thoughts and anxieties swarmed his head like bees to a courser honey comb. Then, the wind swept past the curtains and through the stable entrance, fluttering something under Revali’s foot. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a feather. It was a familiar deep blue, bordering on indigo, the edges were stroked with white. The color and hue was unmistakable.
Losing one or two happened everyday, sure, but what was peculiar was that this particular feather was that it seemed to be from a fledgling. The white marks faded to grey slightly, indicating the not yet fully formed colors of a young Rito hatchling.
Tsk. I’ll admit I have youthful looks, but I’m not that young.
Picking it up off the floor, he studied the stiff end of the feather, he was surprised to find it was decorated. A yellow ribbon was wrapped around its end. At one point, it was a brighter, daffodil like color, but now it had faded with time to a more pastel shade. The color matched well.
Why on earth does someone have my—
Suddenly, Revali stood up, almost flipping the table. “Hey!” Urbosa held the table steady. “Revali? Are you alright?”
Earlier, they were wearing a new leather pouch. It was half open, there were trinkets...ribbons inside.
“Revaaaaaaali?”
When they were joking around, they fake bowed. Did this...did this fall out?
“Are you alright? Where’d you get that feather? Is it yours?”
[Name] kept this? After all this time? That idiot, don’t they know about Rito custom by now? Someone might get the wrong idea.
Or the right idea...GAH! Whywhywhywhywhy—
Breaking his eyes away from the feather, he pushed in his seat and started to leave. “Well, you’ve had your free meal, hope your food was good Urbosa. Now I have to go.” Revali started shuffling out towards the exit, hastily shoving the little feather into his own pocket. “I’ll meet up with you at that idiotic party later. Right now I need to be somewhere.”
Urbosa started to chuckle. “So, heading out early to your date?” Nearly outside, The Rito abruptly stopped and turned to face her. Her eyebrows were raised in suspicion. “And Urbosa, if you tell anyone at all, and I mean even the slightest whisper in the breeze, about our conversation, I have a bomb arrow nocked and ready for you.” He gave her a death stare, but she just laughed.
Her chocolatey voice resonated through the air once more, laughter must truly come easy for her. After shooting him a wink, she smiled.
“Good luck, little Rito.”

Ironic, that the Champion of the sky would frequent the area of his first failure. But, the woods had their own calm and beautiful atmosphere, made all the more pleasant when he and [Name] would hang out here through their childhood. Revali knew these trees all too well, from when he first crashed into them as a child to when he practiced his archery in the time before the Flight Range was built.
Walking along the dirt path, he spotted them up ahead. Their secret spot wasn’t that secluded, it was by a small grassy clearing within the forest. Tall pine trees swayed in the wind, the setting sunlight was cut apart by the shifting shadows. The rose, orange, and yellow light coated the sky and shimmered through the branches. The bushes during this time of year held small buds, some had already bloomed into more colorful yellow flowers, although most were still a young green. Kneeling on the ground [Name] was shuffling through a leather pouch, spilling the contents on the ground and searching for something among the mess. A few hair ribbons, a spare quill, a comb, empty elixir bottles, and other junk cluttered the forest floor. Sensing a presence behind them, [Name] spun around to find Revali, standing there with his wings folded behind his back.
“I don’t suppose all that is to help the fertility of the forest?”
[Name] rubbed the back of their neck, brushing aside their hair, embarrassed. “No, I was just...organizing my things.” Trying to move the conversation away from that, they asked, “So, how’ve you been, Master Revali?”
The Rito brushed his wings against the pocket on his side, where a certain item was tucked away. Tilting his head, he innocently asked, “Are you sure you weren't looking for something just now? We both know you have a habit of being terribly irresponsible.”
[Name] started to formulate an excuse at the tip of their tongue, but one glance at Revali’s expression told them it would be useless. “Alright, fine. Yeah, I lost something, but I’ll find it later. We don’t need to worry about it right now. Why don’t—”
“What did you lose?” He didn’t mean to come off so blunt, but he needed to know. He wanted to be sure. He needed to remove any doubts from his mind. [Name] gave a hasty shrug.
“Uh, just an old trinket. It’s nothing, really. It’s just this dumb thing I had as a kid—”
“So what is it?”
“Nothing! OK? You don’t need to push it, there’s no need to concern yourself with it…” their voice trailed off.
“Was it blue?”
Both their hearts stopped. [Name] suddenly looked up into Revali’s eyes. The looks they both gave each other confirmed their wordless questions. Letting the silence fall a bit longer, [Name] finally dared to whisper.
“How did you...?”
He reached for his pocket. He meant to do this confidently, to swoop in and present it with flair. Perhaps say a quip like “Aha! Of course you kept this. My feathers are of the most dazzling color and quality after all!” Yet, no words escaped his beak. He held out his feather, the pale yellow ribbon hung lazily in the wind. He held it out in front of him, his usual confidence left him. No need to get my hopes up early, just please tell me, if it’s true.
The feather stood between them, shifting back old memories. The sounds were only that of the forest. Crickets softly chirped, and the wind danced through the trees. The sunset trickled through the leaves. Revali let out a cough.
“Ah, well....I believe you left this at our table.”
Neither of them made a move. [Name] was just standing there, bewildered, their gaze constantly shifting between Revali and the feather. They rubbed their boot on the ground awkwardly, unsure of what to say. Finally, the Rito started to speak again.
“Did you know—”
“Yeah,” they said. “Yes...I’ve known about the whole Rito culture thing since when we were kids. You exchange feathers to show that a piece of you is bound to that person for eternity. Then you can, like, braid it into their hair or something? You only do it with your soulmate, or significant other, or whatever the proper terminology is.” Memories started to stir in the back of Revali’s mind, but they continued, waving their hands in front of them in surrender. “I mean, when I first asked you for it, I had no idea about the custom. I just thought it looked nice,” they rubbed the back of their neck, their cheeks rosening. “When I got back to the stable, some elderly guy told me about it. But I didn’t have the heart to throw it away or anything. I just kept it under the floorboards so no one would find it.
“Ah, but tonight there were so many people, plus the Champions… I thought it would be safer on me.” They gestured to Revali, “And, of course, I was wrong, haha….” They let their shoulders slump. “Goddess above, I’m sorry, this is so weird huh. I didn't want to tell you in case you...took it back. I probably should have, I don’t have the right to keep something that should be sentimental...but…”
Their voice trailed off. Revali continued to say nothing. Taking this as a cue to say something more, [Name] added, “I’m sorry, obviously when we were kids you didn’t mean anything that way. I should have told you sooner.”
His heart was racing. Well, both of their hearts were. Taking in their words, Revali could feel his stomach start to flutter, the winds played with the end of his braids. Still holding the feather in front of him, he extended it towards them shakily. “Well, take it. It’s yours.”
They looked up from the ground in shock. “R-Revali! Don’t feel obligated to do anything just because I—”
“And there’s a comb among the junk you’ve littered on the forest floor, correct?”
They took a step back. “Wait, wait. Does this mean you—”
He suddenly took their arm and twirled them around, facing them away from him. “Yes, now sit down already. I’m not gonna do this standing.”
His feathers were poofed out, from the mixed emotions of pride, embarrassment, and adoration. Plopping [Name] in the grass, he went over and picked out the wooden comb among their belongings.
Seeing [Name] about to churn out more excuses and questions, he held up his wing to shush them. “Shut up will you? This is long overdue.” He sat down behind them, the grass prickling against his feet. Revali started to carefully undo the yellow ribbons in [Name]’s hair. Softly, they asked “So for you, how long? When we were kids? Teens?”
“A while,” he simply stated. “It just took me some time to really accept it I suppose.” Silence overtook them once more, though its atmosphere was much more pleasant and warm. Parting their hair into sections, Revali started to lighten the mood with a quip.
“Did you know we’ve already been dating over the last few years?”
“What?!”
“Yeah, you’re pretty much an idiot for not seeing it. I mean, all those times we’ve been in each others’ company. I don’t know how you’ve gone this long without realizing.”
They laughed. “Maybe the idiot Rito I’ve been hanging out with rubbed off on me.”
“Maybe.”
Finally, he placed the feather within their hair. After braiding it halfway, he twisted the yellow ribbon with it, and finished off the braid. The colors of his feather and the ribbon matched perfectly.
“Is it done?”
Before he could give an answer, [Name] brushed their hand against their hair. They both sat there, in the grass, for another eternity. Suddenly, [Name] turned around, and planted their lips on his beak. After releasing him, they stared into each other's eyes for a moment. “Heh, I’ve been waiting a long time to do that.” they mused. “What’s with the look? Should I enlighten you on the Hylian custom then?”
His feathers were now fluffed up mainly from embarrassment, but he regained his composure at their smile. “I’m quite aware of what a kiss is. It’s just that Rito have something better.”
Revali wrapped his wing around the back of their head, moving it gently towards his. Pressing their foreheads against each other, they both smiled, half flustered. His soft face tickled their skin, but they smiled for more reasons than that.
“This works too.”
“Of course, I’m an expert at this sort of thing.”
A beat, and then they both laughed. The sun was almost completely swallowed by the horizon . The Rito Champion was probably going to miss the party, but it didn’t matter. He was busy with more important matters, anyhow.

'Unlikely' is a bit of an understatement at this point
Unlikely Friends you say???
Here comes my favorite boy
And THIS time we have the rest of the LU gang
---
Time rubbed his head tiredly. It was clear the group was starting to get anxious at this point. Which was fair, since they were in completely unfamiliar surroundings. No one so far had recognized where they were. Sky had suggested that perhaps they had stumbled into another new Hyrule, and at this point Time agreed with him.
The group had set up camp under a rocky overhang. Hyrule was getting a fire started while Legend stacked extra logs off to the side. Wind was watching Sky carve what looked like a small bird, and Four and Warriors were clearing out their own respective spaces for the night. Everyone was getting settled in for the evening.
Well, almost everyone. Twilight was pacing around restlessly. His brow was furrowed in thought, and he kept shaking his head slightly.
Time sighed. "You should relax a bit, Pup. You're going to wear a hole in the ground if you keep pacing like that."
Twilight huffed in response. "I'm just on edge. Everyone is. We have no idea what to expect, no idea what could attack, or..." He growled in frustration.
Time considered this. "Would it make you feel better to scout the area?"
"...If that's alright."
"Of course. In fact, it's probably the best course of action. At the very least we'll have a concept of where we are, and a knowledge of the area should we..." his gaze darkened. "Should we get attacked by a certain group of dopplegangers."
Twilight nodded, seeming to relax slightly. "In that case, I'll be back later."
"Stay safe."
Twilight walked off, soon disappearing into the trees. Time turned back to the group. Hyrule looked up from the fire, glancing at where the tall Hylian had gone. "Where's Twi headed?"
"Scouting."
He nodded. "Probably smart. Maybe he'll get an idea of who's place we're in."
Sky's brows furrowed slightly, though he didn't look up from his carving. "Or confirm that is isn't any of ours."
"Do you guys really think there might be another hero?" Wind looked around at the group, Sky and Time in particular. The latter shrugged.
"It's entirely possible. Evidence suggests there are tales of heroes we haven't met yet, and that's ignoring the multitude of possibilities for who may come after us."
"Yeah, but isn't eight Link's already a little ridiculous?" Legend asked, an eyebrow raised.
"The more the merrier," Four said. He chuckled, as though he'd made some sort of inside joke.
"While this is all very interesting, we must move onto a more important topic." Warriors gave them all an emphatic look. "What's for dinner?"
Several groans echoed in response. A debate started up over who's turn it was to cook, while Legend took an inventory of what they had left. Time for the most part only half-listened, keeping an eye on the woods for his protege.
---
Twilight debated over whether or not to shift into wolf form. While it would offer an advantage in terms of detecting people and creatures, he opted for his Hylian form so he could talk to any locals he came across.
If he came across any. As far as he could tell, the surrounding area was completely uncivilized. It was just trees and wildlife.
He once again debated shifting into his other form. The sunlight was fading as evening settled in. With the sun no longer in the sky, the chances of the shadows attacking here much higher.
A cool evening breeze ruffled his hair. Despite the unfamiliarity of the area, he had to admit it was nice. There was a certain tranquility that came with the lack of people, a certain quietness you couldn't get in cities.
A sudden noise made him stiffen. Senses on high alert, he scanned the area carefully. All of his instincts were screaming danger, but he didn't see anything. Unless it was behind him-
An arrow whizzed by his ear. Startled, he whipped out his sword as a wooden club swung down. He squinted at the creature before him, unsure of what it was. His best guess was some variation of a bokoblin, though it was no kind he'd seen before. Looks like they really were in a new Hyrule.
There were two of the creatures, the clubbed one and one with a bow. The latter pulled out another arrow and took aim. Twilight rolled to the side swinging at the one in front of him. It lept over him, screaming wildly. Pivoting, he plunged his blade into its back. He was about to turn and dispatch the other one when it squealed in pain.
When he did turn, he saw it fall to the ground. A Hylian was standing over it, a blade drawn. Twilight was about to thank him when he looked up, and he couldn't hold back a yelp. Red eyes.
"Nice sword," said the shadow. But it wasn't any of the others they'd fought before. This one had long hair, pale as the moon and tied back in a ponytail. A dark cloak hung from his shoulders, over a black tunic with white stitching. Somewhere in the back of his mind Twilight registered that this meant there was another hero, but he was too focused on the new problem in front of him.
Except said problem didn't seem like it wanted a fight. In fact, it was currently acting so nonaggressive that it caught him off guard. Regardless of this, he kept his sword at the ready.
The shadow rolled its eyes and let out what sounded like a long suffering sigh and muttered something under its breath. It then looked back at him, and said in a well rehearsed voice, "I mean you no harm, despite the fact that my mildly unsettling appearance may say otherwise. I just happen to look somewhat terrifying, which does not reflect on my values or intentions."
Twilight was at a complete loss for words, so he only stared open mouthed at the shadow. What did that even mean? Since when did shadows do that?
After a moment of silence, in which Twilight did not let his guard fall for even a moment, the shadow groaned. "Oh for the love of- fine, whatever. I'll let Blondie deal with you." He turned around and cupped his hands around his mouth. "Hey Link! Get your ass over here and help me with this random guy!"
Wait. What.
A moment later, much to Twilight's utter shock, a full-colored version of the shadow came jogging out of the trees. "What's up?" asked the Hero, looking at him curiously.
"Apparently there are people who still find me threatening."
"I mean, you are kind of a creep."
The shadow made a face. "Still, I thought everyone had at least heard..."
The Hero signed something at his shadow that Twilight didn't catch before turning to him. "Hi. I'm Link. I apologize if my brother here startled you; he has that affect on people."
"Wow, rude."
Twilight was pretty sure his brain had short-circuited. Had this Hero really just called his shadow his brother? "You... I... brother?"
"Uh..." Link, the newest Hero, looked uncomfortable. "Yes?"
Hylia help him. He didn't even know what to say. What could he say? Here was a new hero, and his shadow, whom he just called brother. Brother. Was it possible for a shadow to be friendly? None of this was adding up, and the more he thought about it, the more his head hurt. Maybe he should ask Time- oh goddesses Time. If he heard about this-
"Hey," said Link, interrupting his train of thought. "Are you doing okay?"
"No, because I'm going to get myself erased from existence because when my ancestor learns about this he's going to keel over and die." The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them.
"I- hang on, what?" Now it was the new Hero's turn to be absolutely baffled.
"What exactly have you been eating?" The shadow asked. "Mushrooms?"
"Feral!"
"What? It's a legitimate question! I mean, he doesn't exactly seem right in the head-"
"You're making it worse!"
"I'm just saying! He might need medical attention or something. What if he has a concussion?"
Twilight wasn't fully registering the conversation. He'd slid down to a crouching position, head in his hands. He was, however, registering the fact that there was a conversation. That the hero and his shadow were bickering with one another. Brothers. They certainly were acting like it. How had this even happened?
"Okay seriously dude, are you doing alright?" Twilight looked up, realizing he was being talked to. It was the shadow, (Feral was it?) who had spoken.
He took a shakey breath. "I've been better."
"Are you hurt?" asked Link, looking concerned. "Do you need anything."
Twilight managed a forced chuckle. "Maybe something for the headache I have coming on."
"Did you hit your head?"
"No, I-" he paused. "I'm just trying to wrap my head around this whole situation."
"Does this have anything to do with the dead ancestor thing?"
"Feral!"
"I'm just asking, I me- uh." Feral stopped, looking surprised. "Link, your sword is glowing."
"Wait, what?" Sure enough, he drew his sword - which was in fact the Master Sword, go figure - and it's light lit up the surrounding trees.
"Great, is there a Guardian or something? I thought there weren't any around here."
"There aren't, at least not last I checked."
"So wait, what's the deal-"
"Hold on, shut up!" Link waved a hand at him to be quiet, ears perked as though listening intently. Feral went silent, looking on curiously. Twilight guessed that it meant the sword was speaking.
Link's eyes went wide, and he looked up at Twilight. "Holy shit, really?"
"What? What'd she say?" Feral looked slightly frustrated at not understanding what was going on.
"She said he's-" he pointed at Twilight, "-the Hero of Twilight, a hero from the past." Feral's expression copied that of Link's, and they both looked at him.
Well then. He guessed there were perks to having the actual Master Sword with them. "That's me."
"Oh wow. That's incredible." Link seemed to be in awe.
Feral, on the other hand, looked mildly uncomfortable. "Well, that explains why I freaked you out so much."
"Huh?" Link looked confused. "What do you mean?"
"He's another Hero. He did all the same trials. Think about it."
"Huh?" Link paused, then the realization dawned on him. "Oh. Uhh..."
Feral nodded, then glanced back at Twilight. "To reiterate what I said earlier, I'm not going to stab you."
"Right. Okay." Twilight took a deep breath, then stood up. "Why don't we get proper introductions done? I'm Link, the Hero of Twilight. You can just call me Twilight, for simplicity's sake."
Link blinked, surprised that they shared names. "Okay then? Well, I'm Link, the Hero of the Wild."
"I'm Feral, and as I'm sure you can guess I'm his shadow. We usually just say we're brothers, since it's way simpler than explaining the whole shadow thing. Not that far off from the truth, anyway."
Twilight considered this. "Alright then, Feral and Wild- are you alright if I call you that?" When he nodded, Twilight continued. "I guess you're the new Hero in the group. There's several of us traveling, trying to figure out what brought us together in the first place. Since we ended up here, looks like you're included in this."
Wild and Feral exchanged a glance. "Sounds like fun." Feral said.
"I mean, if something's going wrong I should help. But wait, how am I going to explain you?"
"Just tell them the story. Not much to it."
Twilight pinched the bridge of his nose. "As much as I would really love an explanation for this right now, I need to be getting back. I've been away a while."
"Sweet. Operation meet the gang of heroes?" Feral grinned.
"Sounds like a plan."
"Do you think the sight of me is going to make any of them faint?"
"No, but they might stab you," Wild snickered.
"Not if I dodge it."
"Sure you will."
"Watch me."
Twilight groaned internally. This was going to be a long journey, even just back to camp, if these two were always like this.

Filling the Emptiness: Ch 7. Destiny Fulfilled
Leere stood by the kitchen sink, splashing herself with water. She couldn’t believe it. She was able to look at herself without fear of the future. And that scared her. The paradox was maddening. Her wedding was today. The last of her guests had arrived yesterday. Zarazu had sent so many dragons to pick up those that lived far away from Hyrule for this occasion. Leere’s list included her band mates, her family and extended family, and old colleagues, and the families of those who had died in her life. She wanted them to know she never forgot about them.
A knock came at her door. Rinku, who never wore dresses under usual circumstances, had a pretty green dress just for this occasion. As her best man, Rinku felt it was her duty to supply Leere with all the courage she’d need to get through the day. “Hey. You’re looking a little green under the gills.”
“As opposed to you being green all over? Worried that I’ll grow wrinkles from stress?”
“What, like me? I’m only starting to let those sink in.” Both of them chuckled as Leere looked back into the mirror. Her adoptive sister patted her back. “You ready for this?”
“….I am. I’m tired of being alone. Let’s fill that hole properly.”
“That’s my Leere.” Rinku took her hand and the two of them left for the dressing room. Sunny and her family were preparing on the East Wing, Leere and her family in the West. The plan was for the two brides to walk down on two separate ends towards each other. Upon arriving in her dressing room, Kanisa, Orana and Tebanam were ready for her. Kanisa was so excited to see her gothic sister have such a grand, almost fairy tale wedding.
“Oh Leere. The dress you picked out is simply wonderful. Has flair. I think your loved one is going to be so happy. You’re perfect dear.”
The dress Kanisa was referring to was a beautiful white dress with markings traced in the dress. Leere slipped the fingerless gloves onto her hand and examined them. The top of her hands held the design of the triforce, with diamond designs going down the arm. As Kanisa took note of, the dress was puffy, with a long trail of cloth. Leere didn’t think she’d ever be the type, and yet, it’s what she wanted in the end, able to fulfill her childhood dream. The dress sparkled, like stars. Her sisters and brother helped her get dressed into it. “It’s a little tight.”
Orana gave her a thumbs up. “You fit perfectly into it. You’re so pretty Leere.”
Tebanam added to the pep talk, adjusting the ruby collar around Leere’s neck. “You deserve this moment.
Leere felt a light blush, appreciative of the comments. “Thank you.”
Covarog gave a knock at the door, with Ralnor flanking him. He was incredibly impressed seeing Leere in such a dress. “Wow. Great work you guys. Can I get a hug?”
“Of course you can.” Leere practiced walking towards her brother with the weight of the dress and wrapped her arms around him.
“Glad to see you in high spirits. Here.” Covarog handed Leere a bouquet of blue hydrangea flowers for Leere. “Zarazu had Zizi grow these up for you. We thought some theming would be appropriate.”
Leere was amazed by the vibrant light colour of the flowers. Smelling them, she relaxed. “Thank you. That’s incredibly kind.”
Ralnor raised an eyebrow, seeing Leere’s hair was little tussled from putting the dress on. “Leere, stand still for a moment.” Reaching for a brush, he quickly settled her wild hair down. Towering over his tiny sister had its perks, as he was able to reach everywhere without asking her to sit down. “Where would you be without us?”
“Going down the aisle with messy hair.”
“Exactly. But now, you don’t need to. There you are.”
Rinku checked a watch, and snapped her finger. “Alright. Places. We need to be ready in our positions and have you go down the red carpet in ten minutes.”
Leere took deep breaths. How she wanted to see her lover. “Well then, I better take my place. All of you… thank you. Thank you for all your support over the years.”
Leere held a group hug with all her siblings, telling herself not to cry. The five Gerudo siblings were like a protective wall, with Rinku and Leere softly in the middle. Rinku smiled softly, using a finger to wipe away a single tear forming on Leere’s face. “And we’ll always be with you. Till the end of line.”
The Mortuus held her head against Rinku’s and softly smiled, closing her eyes. As her siblings held each other close, Leere thought about all good times ahead of her. She was casting off her shell of misery and hardships. As they all let go, Leere looked to each one, seeing the happiness every Gerudo and Hylian had on their face. It was time. “Thank you.”
Walking to her destination, Leere waited behind one of the towers for her father to walk her down the aisle. As she waited, she heard scratching come from one of the tower windows. Looking up, she saw an old friend, hissing with delight at her. “Bonegrinder thinks he hasn’t seen such a pretty dress on an even prettier woman in a long time.”
Leere chuckled, glad to see he showed up for her wedding. “I see you have a comfortable view from the tower.”
“Oh yes. Bonegrinder would never miss out on your big day. Rumor has it that you have a little one on the way.”
“That we do. Sunny has something going on in the tummy.”
“Babies don’t come from the stomach?”
“Bonegrinder… it’s a figure of speech.”
“Ah. Apologies.” Bonegrinder sensed someone coming. “Anyways, you go have the best experience of your life. Bonegrinder will throw a party in your honour in the Underground.”
“Oh? I thought you didn’t do parties.”
“Well, today is cause for celebration. We won’t do it for long, but I’m sure my children would want to celebrate in their own way.”
“Thank you for being my friend Bonegrinder.”
As Bonegrinder slithered away, Leere looked around, expecting Ganondorf, when she saw a person covered in bandages with a long flowing braid. They wore sheikah robes, and had an air of elegance about them. If it wasn’t for their silver hair aged by time, it would be their voice that gave them away. “It’s been a long time since I took this look for you.”
“Mom?!” Leere couldn’t believe Zelda had shown up as Sheik. “What are you doing wearing that? What’s happened to father?”
“Your father sprained his back, running around excited for your wedding. I just had Malik rest him in the chairs next to the alter. And I knew it was tradition for a father to walk you down. So why not the first male figure that helped lead you out of the dark…”
“…and into the light.” Leere felt her soul sore freely. Her mother cared so deeply for her.
“You’ve been through darkness. Terror. And pain. But through all of that you have grown. And you never turned into the darkness that haunted you. The woman I see before me is no longer scared. No longer feels alone. Your ballad is one of peace and serenity now. You are a daughter of shadow, but does not make you dark. You are adopted from the light. You are about to marry the sun that fills that light. May the shadows that surround you only leave you feeling cooled, and content. You are my Leere. My precious daughter. And I’m so, so proud of you.”
“Mom…” Leere threw her arms around Zelda, hugging her deeply. Her mom indeed always had some words of wisdom for her.
“Don’t cry dear. Those tears are for your wife to be.”
Leere nodded, allowing her mother to lock arms with her. Walking to the door of the garden courtyard, they opened it up, and stepped down the path. Music from her band played, using the organ and beautiful harps to set the mood. Hundreds of people had gathered for both the newly weds to be. As Leere got closer, she saw the woman that was the architect of her love.
Sunny was wearing a stunning dress to match Leere. Her collar instead held a dazzling sapphire, and she carried red roses. Both women couldn’t help but laugh internally, as they each held the others colour of flower that would match each other. If Leere’s dress sparkled like the stars, Sunny’s glowed like the sun. The beauty of each other made the other tear up. They quickly had to blink to stop crying, overwhelmed by the joy of this day. Finally, the met each other face to face, and Zelda and Sunny’s father handed them off.
The music died down and Zelda took her seat next to Ganondorf, undoing her head gear. Next to Sunny and Leere, were Rinku and Galaxia as their bridesmaids. Down the central lane came little Skyla. She was tossing pellets everywhere, and finally, arriving to her aunt, held the ring box up she had been holding onto. Leere loved how adorable Skyla was as their little ring bearer. The pastor at the alter smiled to the couple. “If you’d please, take your rings from the ring bearer and place them on your hands.”
Sunny and Leere did just that, placing the other ring on their respective lover’s hand. Leere made a sign language of ‘thank you’ with her moon ring on her finger to Skyla. The little girl sign language back, ‘Your welcome. I love you.’ With that, she ran down to sit in Faris’ lap.
“We are gathered here today, to bring together two women in holy union under the eyes of the goddess Hylia, and all the holy spirits of the world. Sunny Ingo, leader and prosperous worker of Hyrule. And Leere Dragmire, Hero of Hyrule.” Leere didn’t expect to be called hero. Why did everything conspire to make her cry tears of joy? The pastor continued, gesturing to Sunny. “Sunny Ingo. Do you love Leere Dragmire? Do you wish to be by her side, and keep her warm in your coldest nights. Do you take her hand in marriage?”
“I do.” Sunny’s smile burned like the fire of the gods, indeed keeping Leere warm. She squeezed Leere’s hands, thinking of nothing except a bright future.
“And do you, Leere Dragmire, love Sunny in return and ask her hand in marriage? To give her only dreams and hope? To live out the last of your days with her?”
“I do.” Leere felt that the future had everything worked out for her.
“Does anyone object to this union?” Not a peep from the audience. Skull Kid thought about shooting a water balloon at Leere, but decided against it. He could always get her tomorrow. “Then without further ado, I pronounce you wives. You may kiss the bride.”
Leere leaned up, with Sunny holding her close, and both of them kissed intimately. The crowd of people cheered, throwing flowers into the air, hollering and clapping. Ganondorf was wiping his eyes, and all the siblings of Leere and Sunny were so proud of them. Leere and Sunny, now wives, broke off the loving kiss, and looked into each others eyes. Life was going to be ok.
~
The area was quickly cleared, and everyone set up tables for partying and celebration. Leere got on stage, tapping the microphone. “Hello? Everyone? I just want to say, before we get started, I just want to say, from the bottom to the top of my heart, thank you. Thank you for standing by me. I know for a fact, I wouldn’t be here without you all. Fighting the monsters is the easy part. It was living with being a survivor that was the hardest part. But now, I’m at a point in my life where I don’t have to be that. I just get to live. So thank you. Now with that out of the way.” Leere strummed her electric guitar. “Let’s get this reception started!”
Leere and her band played a sweet song of love and fun in the sun. Once she sang her heart out to the crowd for the opening act, Leere stepped down and allowed her band to play some more. The instrumental consisted of trumpets, flutes, drums, and the slow strum of a guitar. Leere found herself on the dance floor, and met Sunny for their first dance. They spun, laughed, and moved together gracefully. The sun shined with glory on the two, keeping each other warm.
Rinku interjected after the couple had a few dances. “Hey, sis. Everyone is gathering for photos. You two want to join up? I mean, if you’re too busy undressing each other with your eyes, I understand.”
“Sunny, welcome to the extended family. Such a joy.”
“I know you’re being sarcastic in your use of the word, but I believe joy is exactly the right term to use. Unironically. It’s how feel about our future going forward. How’d you feel about that?”
“Feel about what?”
“Calling our daughter Joy?”
Leere tilted her head, a twinkle in her eye. “That’s a beautiful name. But what if it’s a boy?”
“I have faith that the gods can’t the pass the perfect combination of two women like us into a little girl.”
“God. Such the optimist. I adore that about you.”
Rinku watched awkwardly as the two kissed deeply. Rolling her eyes, she shook her head. “Ok now. We have all day to do that later.”
Sunny and Leere giggled, and walked with Rinku to their respective families. Sunny’s father and Ganondorf were having a respectful conversation of how they once each led their business and kingdom respectively. Sunny’s brothers and along with Covarog and Tebanam shared embarrassing stories of their sisters, having laughter spread amongst them. Luna was seeking advice from Kanisa and Orana on how to raise more than one child, and Galaxia and Ralnor quietly talked about how they hoped their sister’s future would play out.
Once the brides arrived, congratulations were given to both of them. Rinku motioned both the women together. “First things first. The lovely brides. Smoosh you love birds.”
Leere and Sunny obliged. They took pictures kissing, holding hands, leaning against each other for support, and even made silly gestures. Sunny smiled fondly. “You know. It’s nice to have pictures of the three of us.”
“Three of us?”
“You, me, and our little bundle of joy growing inside.”
Leere settled on the final picture, holding Sunny’s stomach fondly. “Yeah. I suppose so.”
“Hey sis. Get your pretty butt over hear and show off why you’re the most photogenic.” Apollo called over to Sunny. With a grin, she got close to her family for a group shot. Sunny felt that this day was the happiest moment of her life by far.
After her photos were done, Rinku handed Sunny the camera. “I’ll be sure to get all your good sides.”
“Hey now, all our sides are good.”
Leere patted her sisters back, joining with the rest of her family. Leere was in front, with Zelda and Rinku flanking her left and right. Kanisa and Orana squeezed in right behind them. Then Covarog, Ralnor, Tebanam, and Ganondorf surrounded them all. Everyone squeezed in tight, smiling with excitement. Leere was with her family. She was married. At long, long last, she had found peace. No more monsters to hunt. No demons in the dark. And no one dying on her watch. She found the perfect balance in her life. She filled the emptiness in her soul. She got all the good photos in before tears of gratitude came down her face. “I love you all so much.”
~ Five Years Later
Leere sat down, reading a book, when she heard the bounding thunderous steps of tiny feet jump up to her. Her daughter, Joy, smiled fondly up at her mother. “Momma says you have to come eat dinner now and have birthday cake.”
“Does she?” Leere set her book down and smiled happily at her daughter. Ruffling her dark hair, Leere scooped Joy up. “You do know that, because it’s your birthday, I get to have 25% of your cake. That’s the tax I get for bringing you into this world.”
“Noooo. Momma brought me into this world.”
“But I helped. I’m thinking that the crime of sass means I get to have an additional slice.”
“No. You want to know why?”
“Why’s that?”
“I love you a million.”
Leere showed surprise. “Wow. A million. That’s new number for you. A million what?”
“A million love.”
Leere felt her heart flutter, and slowly smiled. “Holy cow. That is a lot of love.”
Arriving at the table, she sat her daughter down at the table. Sunny finished baking a chocolate cake that said ‘May 5th. The Biggest Joy in Life Came to Be.’ “Good job dear. It’s not an easy task wrangling your mom from a good book.”
“Well, she got me good. Costed a million love.”
“A million?”
“Yep.”
Leere and Sunny shared a kiss, cooking up some potato soup to have first before cake. They looked down at their daughter, who smiled back to them with a twinkle in her eyes. They made this life work for them. It brought them so much peace. Joy swung her feet back and forth under the table fondly. “Mommy. Momma?”
“Yes dear?”
“Can we go look at the stars after food?”
Leere looked to her wife and shrugged in good humour. “I don’t know. You have your P.J’s cleaned?”
“Yes.” Joy said, matter of factly.
Leere looked to her wife, serving her daughter soup and each woman taking their seat. “I think we have an activity than after dinner.”
“That we do I reckon.”
Each of them looked to each other, and without words, exchanged the peace they felt with their eyes. They did good. They found their happiness, and most importantly, to Leere, she did right by making her daughter never know what emptiness felt like. Everything was right.

Could you share some of your headcanons for shadow?
!yes! i can! all these shadow asks, yall are killing me, letting me talk about my trash boy so much, you need to stop, (keep doing it)
i’ll shove this under a readmore because it ended at a whopping 1700 words, you guys are really indulging me
-shadow smiles a lot. don’t mistake it for happiness, or friendliness, or really anything benevolent. at least not at first. the dark world is very different in their customs and etiquettes, models them more so after… not animals, but natural instinct, as it were. so smiling, where shadow comes from, makes a statement: i’m stronger than you, i am in a place to taunt you without fearing for myself, i am challenging you to challenge me. things of that nature. shadow knows that with his magic he is far more powerful than the majority of hylians, save for zelda and perhaps the links. so in a post-manga situation where he has his magic still, he is CONSTANTLY grinning at people. he knows he has the upper hand, always. he has to be watched carefully, in the event that someone irritates him. on the flip side, though, if it’s a post-manga situation in which he’s without his magic, for whatever reason- too weak to use it, no source in Hyrule, lost the ability when he was revived- he’s very solemn. magic was his entire fighting style, in the dark world and hyrule; if he doesn’t have that, he knows he’s in no place to go around offering challenges. the way he sees it he may as well tape a ‘KILL ME’ sign to his forehead.
-expanding on this: he feels very intimidated in hyrule at first, especially if he’s been reincarnated without his powers. he doesn’t understand the customs of hylians, doesn’t know just how different they are from the dark world’s. so imagine walking outside, and everyone’s threatening you. everywhere you look there’s someone inviting you to die. that’s what he sees, before he knows the connotation hylians have assigned smiling; everyone’s threatening him, and everyone’s MOCKING him. and he hates to be mocked, as we all know.
-shadow can dish it but he can’t take it. it’s just a simple truth. physically, of course, is one thing- he can take a beating just fine. it’s a survival skill, in the dark world. trading insults is very, very different. he’ll go around on his perceived authority taunting people, joking at their expense (and meaning every harsh word of it), but hylia forbid anyone do it back. this is where he and vio run into a LOT of conflict. vio is very sassy. shadow wants to remark on him, or the other links, or zelda? vio’s got one ready for him, and he refuses to take any shit. so of course shadow gets pissy, and would very much love to fight, except that if he wants to stay alive and in hyrule he’s going to have to learn that that behavior isn’t acceptable. (to some people’s surprise, red is also very good at keeping shadow in line, but the difference between vio and red is that shadow knows that if he gives red so much as a paper cut the entire continent of hyrule will call for his banishment immediately. red exploits that.)
-he’s very dramatic. that comes as a surprise to no one, i’m sure. but christ, can that kid put on an act. like, his gestures, his speech, his reactions, even the way he fights- it’s with a flourish, always, and very exaggerated. at first it’s extremely irritating; later, when he’s settled down a bit (a lot) more and really started to fit with the group, it’s very funny. watching him deal with enemies, or perhaps not enemies but hostile foreigners, is like watching a soap opera. if they need deceit, depending on the situation they choose from red, vio, or him- whatever’s most called for. it’s red if they need gentle (or guilt-trippy) persuasion, vio if they’re looking for very rational and levelheaded (and sometimes under-the-table) negotiations, and it’s shadow if they want a charade and a lot of blatant lies. he’s very good at convincing people of even the most ridiculous fabrications. he can act earnest and open with alarming sincerity.
-again, unsurprisingly, shadow is a trickster. april fools’ day is his favorite holiday. it’s his favorite thing ever, because it’s a socially acceptable day of being as awful as he’s legally allowed to be. and he can set up some really elaborate stuff. think rube-goldberg machines where every single step is a prank on someone. sometimes even the same person each time. his acting skills help a lot in pulling it off- the only problem is that no one trusts him one hundred percent. but he gets away with too much by blaming it on someone they won’t get as mad at.
-he can read people very well. body language is extremely important to understand in the dark world. he reads the room, he just doesn’t care. he’ll start things on purpose just to watch the fallout.
-in a situation where he’s allied with them during a time of war, he’s a reluctant shoe-in for tactical positions. him and vio, because vio has the practical knowledge and shadow has all sorts of BRUTAL applications. he kind of has to scale it back so he isn’t convicted of any war crimes (stupid idea, if you ask shadow, it’s WAR). but he can come up with some MEAN stuff. traps, fortifications, offensive strategies, especially TRAPS, he’s got a mental list a hundred miles long, and that’s probably just the stuff he’s used already.
-he makes for an excellent spy, for reasons mentioned above and because he’s very well-known, for better or for worse. you’re probably thinking, why would you want a spy that’s well known? two answers, one hinging upon the kind of au: first, if he still has his magic, he can just shapeshift. animorph into another person, and another, and another, so he just seems like a drifter. and even if he doesn’t have that, if nothing else, he can always fall back on his reputation: his origin was as a commander in the war against Hyrule. “hey,” he can say, “all this ‘playing nice’ shit is boring, lemme in so i can bomb something.” 99% of the time, boom, he’s in. that other 1%? he’ll just wreak havoc on the encampment and leave. it’s a win-win. espionage is his middle name and also his favorite word.
-pyrotechnics. like, say that one word and he’ll come running. or teleporting. it depends. it is another of his capital-favorite FAVORITE things. why else do you think he took up residence in the fire temple, of all places? he can list off every known natural way to bring about a fire or, better, an explosion, and he’s very talented at rigging bombs from very little. it’s a little unnerving, watching him working at an explosive. he’s positively gleeful.
-ranged weapons are nice and all, but he prefers the melee ones, the up-close-and-personal nasty little pieces of work. like, serrated daggers, scythes, bludgeons, maces, even a flail of some kind, anything that’s really gonna make a mess. he has a lot of fun with axes; battleaxes, poleaxes and halberds, that sort of thing. he likes to customize.
-dumb impulsive idiot that he is, he rarely ever wears armor or even uses a shield. with magic there’s little need for it, but even without it he really doesn’t care. “can’t hurt me if i kill them,” he says, and charges with reckless abandon, and almost always gets at least one (1) stab wound as a result. he has a high pain threshold and often doesn’t realize until afterwards, when he’s lightheaded and his tunic’s stuck to his side with dried blood. everyone scolds him mercilessly. he keeps doing it anyway.
-because of poor circulation and also just because he’s made differently, shadow is always cold to the touch. like, have him hold your lukewarm drink for a few minutes, by the time you come back for it it’ll be chilled, and probably also full of salt or something. please don’t trust shadow with anything you plan to ingest.
-on that note, don’t let shadow into any kitchen unless you’re trying to destroy it. like, no jokes, they once sent shadow to infiltrate and break down an encampment by posing as a chef. he came back two hours later grinning and covered in ash.
-funny enough, in stark contrast to the personality he puts out to everyone, he’s very clingy, in that he’s got some serious abandonment issues. he’s a stranger in a strange land where most if not all people despise him, he doesn’t understand their customs, he doesn’t know anyone, and he was left behind countless times where he came from. once he really gets comfortable with the links they become his anchor, almost; he can’t stand the thought of being ditched again, so he sticks VERY closely with them.
-he will eat ANYTHING. anything. he doesn’t care. at all. everyone’s sure his taste buds are dead.
-that isn’t true. his favorite things are spicy. like, fatally spicy, the stuff that’d probably kill just about anyone else. he challenges the wing chef to make the spiciest wings possible. the chef brings him a plate of raw ghost peppers. he eats them all and asks for more. the chef cries. it’s terrifying.
-because of how common underhanded tactics are in the dark world, its residents have developed to a large degree a resistance to poison. shadow is no exception; there are very few toxins that would actually be able to do more than put him in bed for a few hours. so he’s used as the poison-tester in pretty much every event under scrutiny. he’ll know if the poison’s there- he can taste it, he just won’t feel any of its effects; the worst he’s gotten was a stomachache, and that was from something that can kill ten full-grown men with a drop. and if he tastes it, honestly, he won’t even say anything. he’ll just laugh, watching the smug little face of whoever did it. because he knows. he can tell.
-he’s a morbid little fuck and usually ends up laughing in the face of death, like when he’s seriously injured. really, when it boils down to it, everyone is simultaneously worried for him and terrified of him.

MAJORA | GOLDEN GODDESS
Throughout the Zelda series, the three GOLDEN GODDESSES who created the world of HYRULE and the TRIFORCE (DIN, NAYRU, and FARORE) are repeatedly mentioned and are shown to be both real and extremely powerful, albeit usually hands-off concerning their creations. That said, there are a few other entities in the Zelda canon that are comparable, at least in terms of raw power or significance. Examples include Oshus from Phantom Hourglass and DEMISE of Skyward Sword fame, but this theory will be focusing on the big players in TERMINA.
The FOUR GIANTS of Termina seem to have a role parallel to that of the three Golden Goddesses. Though they are never explicitly said to forge the world of Termina from scratch, Locals say they were responsible for creating the four distinct areas surrounding Clock Town, which make up a majority of the game’s world. The fact that four of them working together can stop a flying celestial object shot at the world by a vengeful deity also speaks volumes about their power.
In fact, three of the Four Giants’ regions can be seen as reflections of Din, Nayru, and Farore.
Din, whose essence is in the TRIFORCE OF POWER, is also associated with fire and theGORON people, who tend to eat rocks and live around volcanos. SNOWHEAD in northern Termina is where the region’s Gorons live, the local Temple rewards Link withFire Arrows, and the Temple also requires Link to use his physical Power in his Goron form to break obstacles to complete the temple.
Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, is also associated with Water, Magic, and the ZORApeople. The GREAT BAY in Western Termina is home to the region’s Zora population, has obvious associations with water, rewards Link with Ice Arrows (Ice and Water overlap sometimes in Zelda) in its Dungeon, and contains a Research Laboratory. The Lab’s location and its being associated with Wisdom could be a stretch, but note that LAKE HYLIA, a location in Ocarina of Time associated with Nayru and the Zora, also has a Lakeside Laboratory. Plus, the GREAT FAIRY of Great Bay Temple grants Link a Defense upgrade, similar to the Spirit of Wisdom in Phantom Hourglass.
Farore, the Goddess of Courage, is the relative oddball of the trio, being associated with Wind, Life (especially Woods and Plants in Particular), Green, and races such as theKOKIRI and DEKU.family of creatures. The SOUTHERN SWAMP in Termina is dominated by the DEKU SCRUBS, who are not only plants but also capable of limited flight, using Deku Flowers to launch into the air. The basic bow and arrows that are unlocked in Woodfall Temple have no special magical characteristics, but note that even basic arrows are just flying pieces of wood.
This leaves one giant’s location, IKANA CANYON, unaccounted for. Ikana Canyon’s recurring motifs are the presence of death and the contrast between light and darkness. Death examples are easy to come by, such as the graveyard and presence of undead GIBDOS andREDEADS. Though this is the only region without a corresponding transformation mask, the Song of Healing can be used to obtain the GIBDO MASK, which tricks the undead into thinking Link is one of them. The infamous Elegy of Emptiness (elegies are laments for the dead) creates husks of Link’s current form that are necessary for completing Stone Tower Temple. TWINMOLD, the big boss fight in this area, resembles a worm or maggot, animals typically associated with death and decay. As for Light and Darkness, the Mirror Shield is obtained here, and STONE TEMPLE TOWER features the Light Arrows. Also note that the Tower itself is light-based despite being surrounded by darkness and death, and actually doesn’t include the Gibdos and Redeads found elsewhere.
So, why do three of the Four Giants match one of the three Golden Goddesses so easily, leaving only one exception? Maybe there is something else in Hyrule that corresponds to the last Giant, associated with the themes of Death of Light. For the sake of both the canon timeline and real life release dates, let’s mostly focus on Ocarina of Time’s incarnation of Hyrule.
Ocarina of Time largely focuses on other motifs until later in the game, using settings such as trees, caves, and really big fish for its dungeons. The two last regular dungeons in the game though (excluding Ganon’s Tower of DOOM) are almost exact matches. Also note that either one can be completed first and that both require more time traveling than any other dungeon.
The SHADOW TEMPLE (plus the Well) near KAKARIKO VILLAGE is based around the themes of Death, Darkness, and Deceit. They are packed with undead enemies, including the same variety of Redeads and Gibdos that haunt Ikana Canyon, STALFOS, DEAD HAND,BONGO BONGO, and those flying magic skull things (you know the ones… with the things).
The most useful treasure found here is the Lens of Truth, which sees through illusions. The temple is also loaded with various references to death and darkness, my personal favorite being the boat that is a “ferry to the other side,” almost certainly an allusion to Charon the ferryman from Greek Legend.
The SPIRIT TEMPLE, which is on the exact opposite side of the world, focuses mostly onLight. This temple requires playing as both a child and adult. Child Link needs to collect theSilver Gauntlets and Requiem of Spirit to complete the temple as an adult. Note the oddity of a Requiem (prayer for departing souls) being used to reach the Light Dungeon. As an adult, Link collects a Mirror Shield to solve Light-based puzzles. He also fights three IRON KNUCKLE enemies, which are also found in Ikana Canyon in Termina.
If we look for connections between Ikana Canyon and the fourth entity in Hyrule, we can guess that they were likely associated with either the GERUDO or SHEIKAH, much like how other races were associated with other goddesses. Their color of choice is likely purple, based on the purple color of the Shadow Medallion. Purple is another recurring color in Zelda, ranging from Player 4’s color in the Four Swords games, the Element of Earth in Minish Cap, and MAJORA from Majora’s Mask.
Yes, we finally got to Majora.
Let’s review what we know about Majora and its Mask. A long time ago (“ancient tribe” is a bit ambiguous), this mask was used by a now extinct group for magical rituals, but any more details in-universe are largely guesswork. Even the HAPPY MASK SALESMAN doesn’t seem to know that much about it, other than hinting that the mask was the home of a dangerous spirit rather than being an evil costume piece. Majora is also unbelievably powerful, seemingly far more so than Ganon ever was at any point in the series. Even the likes of Demise probably couldn’t destroy the world in a three-day weekend while still technically being bound within the mask.
And although the mask is too alien to easily empathize with or rationalize, it is obviously a conscious being, based on some of the game’s latter scenes and dialogue. It is also aware of what’s happening around it, as seen with the four children wearing boss-based masks on the moon indicate.
One thing that’s often overlooked, however, is that Majora likely came from Hyrule. That’s where the SKULL KID and Mask Salesman were found in Ocarina of Time, a short while before Majora’s Mask took place. The Mask Salesman also seems to have had Majora’s Mask for a while, but he can easily be found in CASTLE TOWN throughout Ocarina of Time, suggesting that he at least had it with him in Hyrule for a while. The game actually begins in Hyrule, when Link is ambushed looking for his lost friend. And even though Skull Kid and Majora curse a bunch of people, these all happen a relatively short time before Majora’s Mask begins, suggesting that Skull Kid only started using the mask very recently.
Last, let’s see what Majora itself had to say, both in person and via the Moon and moon children.
I wonder, if you do the right thing, does it really make everyone happy?
Your friends… What kind of… people are they? I wonder… Do these people… think of you… as a friend?
When a body is used by another, it can be called nothing but a puppet.
OK, let’s play good guys and bad guys… I’ll be the good guy, and you be the bad guy, and when you’re the bad guy, you just run.
Everyone has gone away, haven’t they?
That’s surprisingly insecure for a destroyer of worlds. And considering how Skull Kid has been left behind by the end of the game, it seems that this can not all be the thoughts of the Skull Kid still echoing in Majora. It’s as if Majora itself has some deep-seated issues involving trust. It questions the morality of its actions, worries about being used by others, and seems very concerned with how others view it.
THE THEORY IS THIS:
The Golden Goddesses once included four members: Din, Nayru, Farore, and Majora. Each played a valuable role in its creation and complemented another member of the four. Din and Nayru balanced one another, with Fire meeting Water, Power meeting Wisdom, and Creation meeting Order. Likewise, Farore and Majora balanced each other out. Farore would bring Wind, Life, and Courage while Majora would offer Earth, Death, and Peace (themes seen in Ikana Canyon).
The four of them created the world of Hyrule and its many peoples. Perhaps Majora’s favorite people were the predecessors of HYLIANS. Though a variety of humans exist in the Zelda universe, it should be noted that the ones with pointed ears (Hylians, Sheikah, and Gerudo) are most closely associated with many of Majora’s favorite points, as seen in OoT’s Spirit and Shadow Temples.
It is also likely that the four goddesses spent a while living in the world they made, much like the Giants of Termina. This would be a bit of a weird dynamic for common people, especially concerning Majora. Gods associated with accepting one’s fate and returning to the Earth are not always going to be popular.
The thing is, if there’s one thing the Zelda series is consistent about, it’s powerful beings able to be defeated by much weaker ones. Link defeating Ganon a bunch is the most obvious example, but even benevolent deities like the WIND FISH and Four Giants are shown to be vulnerable to something they should be able to take on. So it’s possible that the peoples of early Hyrule could defeat Majora with a well thought out plan and the element of surprise. This plan: trapping her in a mask, which would only be used for exploiting her power.
The remaining trio could react in a number of ways. they would almost certainly be upset, both because of personal safety concerns and the outrage at Majora being imprisoned by the world she helped create. Rescuing Majora would be a high priority, but being very powerful doesn’t necessarily grant omniscience. A mask is very easy to hide, and they wouldn’t even necessarily know to look for a mask in the first place. That said, it would be an utter waste to destroy the peoples they created. Not all of them were necessarily guilty. Nevertheless, Hyrule was no longer safe for its creators.
So the Golden Trio departed from the world, leaving only a portion of their powers behind to create the Triforce.
Thing is, without the Golden Goddesses, the world would soon be attacked by outside threats like Demise. This was bad enough, but worse was the fact that Majora could not contribute her efforts into maintaining the world’s balance. Thus, the nature of Hyrule changed forever. Without an entity that could manage death and ultimate peace, undead creatures would begin to plague the world. Worse, monsters like Ganon were literally unstoppable, since they were powerful enough to overcome any force that would make them face a proper death or ending.
And so, by trapping the Goddess associated with Death, the people of Hyrule allowed the greatest killer in their history to go largely unopposed. After all, even when a hero rises, he can not always stop Ganon immediately. The Downfall timeline is based on the good guys simply failing.
Majora didn’t see most of this. She was in a mask most of the time, wondering why her three sisters had not saved her. Did they know about this? Had they taken part? Why would they betray her?
So ages later, when little Skull Kid allowed Majora to see her surroundings for the first time in at least a few centuries, likely much longer, she was neither entirely rational or calm. When she saw Termina, she saw something resembling what the world she made might look like after X many years. So bringing the moon down? That was revenge.

A scenario which Skali and Revali have a father daughter moment which is supper fluffy and sweet, meanwhile his s/o is fangirl of to the side about what's going on. Thank you!
Fluffy father-daughter moment that s/o witnesses
“Daddy?”
Four year old Skali pulled on the hem of Revali’s elegant garbs as she watched numerous people, all equally lovely dressed up, danced around the enormous ballroom. Revali hummed in the back of his throat as he waited for you to come back with the refreshments and then gazed down at Skali. He had to suppress hugging her as she was dressed formally with a head wrap decorated with intricate patterns and a bell style dress. She looked just too adorable for his eyes.
“Yes, Princess?” He knelt to her height while she looked at him rather bashfully.
She reached up to fiddled with the sash over his shoulders and pointed to the people dancing. “Why are they dancing like that?”
He followed the direction of her finger and realized she was motioning for the synchronized ballroom dancing. “It is part of the customs of Hylians. Think of it just like when back home has the singing festival, my little bird.”
“Oh, I see.” Her tiny voice spoke. Skali looked between him and the groups dancing all the while holding onto his sash. She gripped it tighter and Revali could not help but notice the glimmer in her eyes. He looked off to where you had went and figured it would not be too much of an issue if they gone for a bit when you came back.
He scooped Skali up in his arms and pointing back to the crowd, “I believe it’s an opportune moment to show you how to dance. Would you like that, Princess?” His heart swelled when he heard her excited little gasp and stared at him with stars in her eyes. She gripped the collar of his garb about to speak when her face fell flat. Revali noticed the change immediately and in a soothing tone asked, “Why the long face? Is there something wrong?”
Her bottom lip quivered in nervousness and she gave him a heartfelt look. “I don’t know how to move like that.” Her forehead scrunched feeling worried that she didn’t know how to move like the extensive dips and turns presented, but Revali could tell that Skali very much desired to dance. “W-what if I mess up?”
He huffed and exaggeratedly rolled his eyes to make her laugh, “Nonsense. If there is one thing that your father is superb at, besides literally everything else, is that I am quite the dancer! You will not fail with me here to teach you.”
Skali seemed rather hopeful by her father’s encouragements and her little heart hammered excitedly as he carried her to the dance floor. There were casual dancers lining the outside of the more elaborate show, but Revali paid no mind, especially to odd stares the bystanders were giving them.
He set Skali down on her feet, kneeling before her while he bowed his head and held his wing out for hers. He gave her a tender smile as her little hand fell into his, “Now, my Princess, would you do me the honor of dancing with me?” A bubble of laughter left Skali as her father stood up, holding onto her hands. He guided her to stand atop his feet and waited until his child could gain her balance. Nothing could wipe the endearing smile off Revali’s face as he watched Skali stare back at him with genuine excitement. “Now, remember how I move my feet, my dear.”
When you came back from the refreshment table holding a small tray of drinks for you and your loves, it came to be a surprised that they were not there where you left them. “Uh oh…” You spoke to yourself in a hush tone, worried that Skali must have gotten fussy and Revali had to take her away. However, when you heard clapping and slight cheering from across the way, you had a hunch that perhaps they were over there.
Hylia only knows that Revali would be near the calls of adulations.
But when you shuffled through the crowd, all the while careful of the drinks, to your surprised in the middle of the circle was your daughter and Revali. A state of awe fell over you at how they glided across the floor and her little laughs serenading the air. Revali spun around fast enough that Skali would fly into the air, and you couldn’t help but laugh along with her. All the while Revali was keeping up with the upbeat rhythm of the orchestra.
Revali looked ever proud as he tossed his baby in the air and caught her with ease. He originally planned to teach her proper formal dancing, but he became worried she would be anxious trying to perfect it. He wanted to feel at ease at these types of events if she and Zelda were going to be good friends in the future.
You watched the loves of your life merrily twirling around and your heart swelled with pride that you were blessed with these two. Revali stood up to the plate once Skali was born and your love for him only grew each day as he proved himself to be more than just a prideful warrior. And your dear little Skali looked well at home in this moment. The little girl became the light in your life and it put you at eased that Revali instilled confidence in her, albeit she was naturally shy.
Revali flung Skali into the air again, and she busted out laughing feeling gravity take hold. As he caught her once more, he swung her around and into his chest. The orchestra transitioned into a soft melody and your head tilted to the side as you watch Revali hug Skali close to him. She wrapped her little wings around his neck, her face adorned a cheeky grin.
The moment you heard soft cheering and awes is when you were brought back out of your tunnel vision. For a good moment, you had forgotten the small crowd surrounding the two and in turn, it seemed that Revali and Skali did too. Skali took in the random strangers and she felt herself turn red and her eyes welled up with tears. She hid her face in the crook of Revali’s neck as finally he spotted you. He eyed the people with excessive dignity and made his way over to you.
The smile on your face turned into a grin and Revali just rolled his eyes. He patted the shivering Skali before he spoke to you, “It is about time you came. Our daughter could have become dehydrated.”
An ugly snort left you as you rolled your eyes, “Oh forgive me, your majesty, I was not aware I was on the sundial.”
A smirked perked on his beak as he took a small goblet and held it to Skali. She hid into his neck further refusing the drink and he only shook his head before taking a sip for himself. “Being apart of my family means you have to be punctual.”
“Oh, get off your high horse.” You laughed, lightly placing your hand upon his forearm. Revali smiled before placing his forehead against yours for a moment. You placed the drinks off on a love-seat and held your arms out for Skali. Revali had to peel her off, but as soon as Skali saw she was heading for you, she latched on. You rubbed her back while you turned back to your spouse, “You fascinate me….I meant it, Revali…”
The feathers on his neck fluffed out before he cleared his throat and held his beak in the air. “I would sure hope so or this whole affair between us would be rather awkward.”

Zelda DnD Night -- Part 1
Okay so. A few close comrades and I started a D&D campaign Saturday and it all basically went down like this:
The campaign takes place in the Legend Of Zelda Verse some point after the events in Twilight Princess. Since we are all new, we wanted to start with something familiar but something that wasn't the beginner's guide story.
A few years after the events of Twilight Princess. Monsters are still roaming the lands in an effort to take over for their fallen master; Ganondorf.  In this version Koriki, Gerudo and Sheikah still exist. To keep in short Gerudo and Sheikah are basically exiled.  If you know Zelda lore the interlopers were a group of powerful people trying to storm the Sacred Realm and steal The Golden Triforce, using their own powerful relic; The Fused Shadow. That group happened to be a corrupt band of Sheikah --Which were banished to the Twilight Realm, and eventually turned into the Twili. The Gerudo were still banished to the deepest parts of the vast Gerudo Desert thanks to Ganondorf. The Koriki are east of Ordon Village in Koriki Forest, untouched by time and protected by their Guardian; The Great Deku Tree.
Well, In our group There is the following: A zora soldier captain, A male gerudo warrior / king, A koriki  folk hero druid, A female gerudo pirate captain / rouge warrior, twin female sheikah warriors (one's a rouge thief and the other's basically a D&D equivalent of a ninja), A dragon (Yes a dragon. He's like Volga), and a half hylian/twili battle mage.
The group is assembled one at a time by a god (not one of the four goddesses) who basically wants to rid Hyrule of the monsters n junk. (He could literally do it himself but he's lazy.)
The god's name is Zion. He's a god of Mischief. He's just doing this partly for entertainment and partly because he does kinda care. Just not enough to lift a finger himself.
He went to collect people he thought would be better suited for this mission, or so his future vision predicts.
They're all basically assholes.
Just one is literally less of an asshole then the rest. If I recall most of the characters are chaotic good or true neutral. I think my zora is the only Neutral good.
The characters get introduced to each other as; Mafodorf (the Gerudo King), Fen (The Zora), Cyro (the dragon), Aron (the half twili), Sinu (the Koriki), Litori (The Gerudo Pirate) Taga and Zatoh (The Sheikahs).
Mafodorf was the first to be introduced. Sat upon his throne and thinking, a strange man walks. The man introduces himself as Zion, and tells the Gerudo King that he is needed in saving Hyrule. Mafodorf was sceptical of this strange man at first, but listened to him as his entrance intrigued him. Zion showed the king his powers, able to make anything happen with the snap of his hand. Anything Mafodorf could ever wish for appeared, gold, women, and the promise of his people being free as they once were. With a little thought, the Gerudo King took him up on his offer, and shook the god’s hand, instantly transported to Lake Hylia.  Zion was gone moments later.
Cryo had just stepped into his castle. A long, forgotten kingdom with what had been left just a crumbling reminder. As he walked in, the dragon noticed a strange man sitting at his throne, twirling an umbrella and lazing until the beast appeared. Cyro snarled at the man, asking who he was and why he was on his bed.. Zion simply turned to the dragon, chuckling at the statement with an amused response --Remarking how the throne was a rather small bed for such a large beast. Intrigued and slightly amused, The dragon listened to the man speak, telling him what he had told Mafodorf, and showing his power. Cyro thought a moment and then agreed and was transported as well, turned into a human form and given clothes. Because he was naked.
Aron was in his potion lab, working on a simple potion when a knock came to his door. Being so focused on his chemicals, his hand shook as he jolted and the room soon filled with smoke. His father, Argon, stepped into the room, stating that the he had a visitor and to go meet with the Queen, Zelda. Unsure of what the princess could possibly want from him, he cleaned himself of soot the best he could and went to meet with her grace. A strange man stood with Zelda, seemingly locked in conversation. Quietly, Aron announced his presence. Queen Zelda greeted him an introduced the strange man as Zion. As the god did before, he asked Aron to come long, it hadn’t taken long for the twili to decide, and he was whisked away with the rest of them and left at Lake Hylia.
Taga toiled away in at a smithery, a job she had taken to earn extra money and get her sister out of prison. A simple disguise keeping her form hidden. Zion appeared before her, stepping out of the fired of the forge. (Making a joke about not wearing his fire-proof underwear.) As before, Zion promised her riches, greatness, and other such things. Taga made her deal, her sister’s criminal history erased and her people removed from exile. She joined the first two at Lake Hylia… and offered to help Cyro get his clothes on.
Litori sat in her chambers, writing maps and setting courses. Her favorite bard --and cousin, at her side and playing away. Zion appears in her chambers, causing Litori to spring into action and command her bard to play her battle theme. Zion assures her he means no harm, but the woman refuses to believe him, simply for being a man. Zion goes against that, turning into a female form to make her more comfortable. Like the other’s, she is intrigued by this stranger and sits down, but does not sheath her sword. There is back and forth between the three, banter and hijinks about the mission. Zion tells her he doesn’t need her, and that his group could go on without her. The pirate stops him, saying she will join under three conditions: Her crew must go with her, and that they are given pardon for all crimes, and that the man die. She thrusted her sword and lopped his head off, only to be disappointed when he picked it up and placed it back on his body. It was agreed. Herself, her crew, and her ship are whisked away to lake Hylia with the rest.
Sinu sat with his friends in Lost Woods, playing his flute while they danced to the music. A few Skullkids he had befriended during his time in the forest. His fairy Hoar --Or ‘Howard’ as he calls him, and his little Ferret sleeping on his lap. All was peaceful until the skullkids suddenly stopped dancing and looked into the forest. Hoar and Sinu looked up curiously. The skullkids disappeared as a strange man stepped out from the brush. The child ever curious, hadn’t moved and simply stared in wonder. Zion introduced himself and did what he had done with the others, making various things appear that might attract the child’s attention. It didn’t take a lot to convince Sinu or his fairy, and they were whisked off to Lake Hylia. Where Litori attempted to catch Zion before he disappeared, but was too late.
Fen was the final one to be found. He was swimming along the castle perimeter, checking on his underlings and making sure everything was fine. As he rounded to reach the next, he was stopped by one of his mean, and ordered to return to the palace at once.
Zion told everyone in the group that “I looked into the future and you were the ones less likely to die.”
They discover that one of the twins (Zatoh) is in prison for a list of crimes and offences and the god basically used this as an excuse to see how well the group works together.
A test.
Then Zion told them where they had to travel to Hyrule (Aron needed to travel BACK to Hyrule). They had been transported to Lake Hylia to greet one another. The trip from Lake Hylia to Castle Town would take them roughly 3 days travel. The group was like "Naw fuck that let's ride the dragon." So the group bribed the dragon with nice armour and we flew all the way to Castle Town. Aron happened to have an invisibility potion and we flew over undetected. Sinu had no idea the dragon was Cyro the whole time and it was great.
As a side note each of the characters were promised something at the end of their journey so most are doing it for gain. Like, the dragon literally is just doing it for the money. Believe it or not the others didn't want fame or glory, most just wanted Monetary gain or to free their people from exile (Which is good.) Well. Mafodorf is king of the Gerudo. He's not corrupt like Ganon. Just a dick. And the two Sheikah are basically just want their people to be forgiven for what the interlopers did.
Okay so the group get to Castle Town (Except Mafodorf because the player had to leave. The excuse for him leaving was like Zion literally just took him without explaining to his people where he went and they left to deal with that.) Aron and Fen decide to go to the Castle and speak with Queen Zelda about letting Zatoh go. The rest of the group try to 'raise' money for bail. (A pirate, a Koriki druid and a sheikah ninja). Group B basically took to stealing shit from passerby. At one point the pirate stages a barfight so she can steal rupees and rum from behind the bar. She gets the bar patrons rowdied up against one of the other patrons giving the bartender a hard time. They were promised 5,000 R to kick that guy out. Then tossed the promised money inbetween them for them to fight over, hopped the bar, threatened the bartender, and stole all of the rupees and one bottle of rum.
Cyro was basically just watching this all unfold and laughing.
Group A got into the castle. Aron is son of a general Warrior mage and thus is allowed free roam of the castle and it's grounds. Fen was allowed in because he was a captain trusted to guard zoran royalty on visit to Castle Town. Thus both were recognized and allowed entrance. They also get audience with Zelda and explain the situation.  Zelda basically tells them she will see what she can do and sends Fen on his way while Aron collects a few things for the journey. WHILE THE BARFIGHT IS GOING ON. Fen hears the ruckus caused by it and runs off to investigate. Once he gets there he finds out the pirate had robbed the tavern and was making off with all it's rupees and a bottle of alcohol. Fen stops her and is all "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TAKE THAT BACK RIGHT NOW!"
The pirate (who mind you is 6 foot tall) and the zora (who is 5'8) are having an intimidation stare down. Fen wins and convinces L (the Pirate) to take ALL of the rupees back to the bar. Through deception Litori manages to convince the bartender that her sick brother (Sinu) needed the money and she's sorry. The bartender gives her HALF OF THE RUPEES SHE STOLE and leaves the bar.
While this is going on, Zatoh is in the dungeon trying to figure out how to escape. She noticed there was a large dog, the size of a mastiff it had the keys around its neck and a nice juicy bone in its teeth. She had attempted to coax the dog closer, trying to bait it with food left over from her meal. The dog, clearly not amused by her, snapped it’s fangs in her direction. It missed, thankfully. Though, that annoyed the rouge quite a bit. Zatoh look the dog straight in the eyes and left out a snarling bark. The dog, finding her bark commanding, whimpered and slunk off to a corner to cower.
After some argument between the pirate and zora, Cryo gets bored and decides "Umma sneak into the Castle". THEN Sinu, and Litori tries but is caught by Fen trying to sneak away behind a potted plant. Litori THEN convinces Fen to take her to the castle too because she was sure that's where Sinu went. Through little effort they were able to get into the Castle.
They run into Aron who's like "how did you guys get in here." and they're like "we were allowed in. But we think the other's snuck in."
WHICH Aron is like "Are you serious??" and runs off to check the holding cells in the dungeon. Fen follows along with some guards and Aron's dad (Argon) because they believe something serious is happening. The rest of the party is in the dungeon literally just hanging out in the shadows with a guard dog.
Aron is the first to get there and only notices Sinu who is basically covering his eyes and standing behind a large mastiff like dog who is cowering. To help Sinu hurryingly try to hide. Zatoh (The prisoner) bends the bars of the cell and basically says "HIDE HIM HERE". She could escape mind you. She could walk out of that cell but she just bends the bars back into place.
The guards and Fen get there without Litori. She didn’t follow and stayed behind in the main room. Argon asks what is going on and Aron is like "I was told that people might have sneaked into the castle." And that sends Argon and the guards on high alert so they go looking for intruders. Those intruders being Cryo, Sinu and Taga -- Zatoh's twin sister.
Aron fails to convince his dad the group isn't dangerous, but Fen succeeds in this so the soldiers settle down and go about their business. His face in his hand while he spoke, but a slight smile to his lips. The group is basically just left in the dungeon by themselves so Cryo and Taga come out of the shadows. Zatoh decides "I wanna hug my sibling!" So she bends the bars, gets out, glomps Taga, and before she gets back into the cell. SHE PUNCHES ARON RIGHT IN THE NADS FOR RATTING THEM OUT.
Enough that he screamed like a bitch and got the guards' attention again and was rushed to the medical wing.
Meanwhile, Litori wandered around the castle’s main room for a while trying to find something to steal, but somehow managed not to find anything of worth. So she heads to the kitchen in hopes of stealing some fancy drinks. An elderly hylian was the only one in the kitchen. She was stirring a pot of what one could assume was pumpkin cheese soup. The pirate attempted to sneak in, only to be caught by said older woman. Her deception unmatched, Litori managed to convince the cook that she was here to fetch Zelda some alcohol. The cook went to fetch a bottle, opening a secured pantry door with all sorts of bells and whistles to keep people from stealing. A good minute went by once all of the locks and sorts were disarmed and a single bottle offered to the thieving pirate. Not the drink she wanted --and even attempting to haggle with the friendly cook, she settled on it. Once she was out of view of the cook, she read the label; The Golden Goddesses, it read. A drink similar to wine, but nothing the pirate had heard of before. Thinking it was just simple wine and nothing more, she chugged the bottle. This drink was much stronger than the pirate had anticipated, and thus, became drunk off her ass.
Returning to the group as they wanted for the pardon and bail for Zatoh. They have small conversations about how this has gone thus far. As the guard arrives, So does a drunken Litori, who proceeds to flirt with the female guard, (rolls a nat 20) and makes the guard blush. The bail is paid, the group leaves the castle. They gather necessary (and unnecessary) supplies.
One of said unnecessary supplies being a bag of catnip. Of which our bard stole from Zatoh.
The group realized that it was getting late and traveling at night was not ideal for anyone, let alone a band of new adventurers. They decided to stay at an inn for the night. (It was Telma’s bar that was converted into a tavern inn for convenience.) The still drunken Litori started a bar fight with a few people that were till there that evening (Which somehow included our bard). The fight ends once Telma and Fen manage to break them up. They seperate into groups for their rooms. Fen, Litori and her bard sleep in one room. Sinu, and the twins share a room, and finally Aron and Cyro. Fen was originally with Aron and Cryo, but the only room with a place for him to soak for the night had been with Litori. So he spent the night sleeping in a bathtub.
The next morning, Fen, the bard and Litori all wake up. Litori now with the worst hangover in her life. They go to get ready for their day by going to the bathroom (Of which they didn’t realize Fen was sleeping in there.) Litori comes in. knocks her bard in the bath with Fen, proceed to puke all over the floor and miss the toilet by a country mile, then leave Fen and the bard trapped in the bathtub surrounded by puke. Fen sitting there confused at what just happened.
The group rally themselves for travel, setting out into the vast field of Hyrule. The group stand at a loss for what to do. Then Zatoh and Taga give them an idea to see their mother, who would know where they should start for their adventure. However, it is a days travel. Aron, who gains back the ability to do so, suggest they can group teleport most of the distance. While hesitant, the group agrees to allow him to try. Of course, never having been there, he can only get them so close. He has to have seen the place to teleport there. The teleportation is successful, however, the adventurers must climb a cliff (Or take a hidden, steep staircase) to get to where their mother is. Everyone --but the twins, struggle but manage to reach the top. Where --hidden within thick brush, is the home of Zatoh and Taga. The quiet still and peace of the lush natural home was disturbed by rustling bushes. A large white wolfos charging out, mouth agape and knocking one of the twins down with its sheer size. Ready for battle; Fen, Aron, Sinu, Litori, and Cyro prepare for Battle. However are paused in confusion as Zatoh is laughing under the mass that is this white wolfos. She was in fact, nuzzling and petting this large beast as it mauled her with affection.
“You keep a wolfos as a pet?! Are you INSANE?!” Aron screamed, keeping a great distance from the wolfos, aptly named Fluffles.
Thus the twins reply with a rolled shoulder and “Yeah. He’s cool.”
The group eventually make it into the twins house. (After a near disastrous meet with the twins’ mother.) They make themselves comfortable and await, not only weapons appropriate for their journey, but information on where to go next. All while Fen is being suffocated and asulted by a wolfos tail --enough that he falls off of the couch arm.
END OF PART ONE.
