Qi Rong is my favorite character rn and I fel bad for everyone who has to listen to me talk about him. I never really post my art her but since its fanart I figured why not.

I am so scared to post fanart anywhere because what if people don't like my interpretation of certain characters. Ok so because my brain has decided these boys are the ones I’m going to derive all my joy from for the foreseeable future I’ve, naturally, been coming up with headcanons. And quite a few of them have been based on the thought that “hey, if unicorns are identical twins, would that affect their magic in any way?” like what if that made their magic be on the same wavelength or something? And one of the headcanons I came up with pretty early on is that they can share dreams. So imagine my joy at this. Is it a completely wild conclusion to make based on this less-than-two-seconds moment? Yes. But the only other explanation is that they feature in each other’s dreams, which is also in line with the way I see them, so I win either way.

Miraak used to receive some weird looks from the Atmorans for his Snow Elf heritage, with his fellow dragon priests calling him names such as 'ghost' or 'paleface', because of the marble-white complexion he took after his Snelf mother.

Jia is quite frequently confronted with "aren't you a little short for a Nord?" by the Nords, and with "aren't you a little tall for an Imperial?" by the Imperials.

and yet, aren't they both living proof that before any hate, or any war, or any decimation of life, there was once love and unity? 🥺

Superlantern would always be superior to batlantern and/or Superbat for me because I down right HATE the golden retriever x grumpy/black cat trope.

It’s so boring and overused.. like a character would be quiet or shy or just have black hair and they’d be labeled as the black cat, and for some reason the black grumpy cats are always seen or implied to be a lot more desirable or better? Than the golden retriever characters, who seem to be the ones making the mistakes and that ones that always have to chase the other.

I do enjoy my fair share of superbat and batlantern, but I fully agree with you on hating the golden retriever x black cat trope. ofc, I shouldn’t yuck other people’s yums, but things like that and sunshine x grumpy make me cringe whenever I see them being used because imo they’re pretty much always used to flatten the characters and make them boring clichés, rather than adding some sort of other dimension to them to make them more interesting.

Plus, as you kinda get at, the golden retriever character is almost always depicted as being dumber than the black cat, which peeves me a bit. Clark and Hal are both really freakin’ smart, and in some ways, a lot smarter than Bruce.

I don’t even agree with the golden retriever being Clark or Hal to Bruce’s black cat. I think Clark and Bruce are much more similar than being such a dichotomy that is usually implied to be opposites, and furthermore, I don’t even think Bruce would be a black cat. He’s some type of working dog to me. Maybe a doberman.

I’m going to assume Hal is the clumsy rabbit between superlantern because of the whole concussion thing, and that made me genuinely laugh out loud. That’s actually quite cute.

the reason they disappeared abrudas from evolution after 5 pages of screentime and without even an on-page fate is cause they knew the plot only works if both desolas and harper grab the idiot ball like a terrier with a squeaky toy, and they knew abrudas was too powerful and would avert the plot entirely by telling desolas he's being stupid and also killing harper and co with her bare hands

After I 💤ed through a good chunk of the story before, I gotta say I (SE's most difficult to please costumer) was positively surprised with the last few chapters. The Ishgard conflict and then the Ul'dah business were set up nicely. I'm curious to see how those story beats continue.

Vibed a bit more with the overall cast of characters involved at the end. Even gained a new blorbo. Unexpectedly. Who will definitely survive Heavensward. Definitely.

Now I must camp the gold saucer until I'm mentally prepared to go on.
