What made you ship it?

Let me b real rn. Fabularasa's fics. I loved their superbat fics and on a whim decided to try their batlantern, even though I didn't like the ship at the time, and...well, let's just say I was convinced.

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

The banter. I know, I know, basic answer, but the banter is lowkey unmatched, especially when taking the vibe from Justice League: War. God, they just have so much chemistry in the DCAMU and for what.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Lowkey I think people focus too much on the bickering/chemistry side of the relationship (which I know I just said I liked but anyway), and not enough on Bruce and Hal's history, which really enrichens both of their characters. Bruce, I think, really looked up to Hal and had a pretty amiable relationship with him until Hal got Parallax-ed and then suddenly Bruce's faith in Hal was shattered, and it took soooooo long and soooo much effort for that trust to be rebuilt, but it's a super interesting dynamic also because they're (to their own consternation, I imagine) very, very similar in some ways and very, very different in others.

I think they both have very interesting relationships with control and fear. They both watched a parent or both of their parents die at a very tender age due to a violent circumstance that was far out of their own control, and they had very opposite responses to it. Bruce decided to dedicate his entire life to making sure nothing like that ever happens again. On the other hand, Hal sees what happens with his own eyes the worst possible thing that could happen if a situation spirals out of control, and he makes his peace with it. Bruce fed into his fear, and Hal released his. (By the way, literally canonically, the reason Bruce cannot be a GL despite having the willpower to do so. He refuses to release that fear because it drives him. I don't think he'd know what to do with himself if he did release it.)

This dynamic is turned on its head with the destruction of Coast City. When Hal watched his father die in a crash landing, he thought he saw the worst possible thing that could happen, dying, but he realizes that being the one--the only one--to survive is far, far worse.

So Hal tries to get revenge on the Guardians, destroys the Corps, and kills billions of people across the multiverse all in the process of making his own universe where everything's perfect, the "way it should be." I know I've made my fair share of jokes about him having a god complex, but I think it has less to do with Hal thinking he deserves to be a god and more with him wanting to have absolute control so that he never has a situation like Coast City happen ever again.

Oliver does say "It's true...absolute power does corrupt absolutely, even Hal," but I don't really think it was the absolute power that made Hal like that. Hal did have so much power after absorbing the Guardians' knowledge and the chronal energy from the Anti-Monitor or whatever, but I think Ollie got it the wrong way around. Hal had the willpower to keep himself and his OP-ass powers in check for all those years, and he snapped before he got the Guardians' powers, not after.

I think this was an in-character misread of Hal on Ollie's part, and I don't know if this was on purpose or if I'm reading it correctly, but like, yeah, of course Ollie would attribute Hal's Parallax-ing to the temptation of absolute power, rather than the desire for absolute control, because the Big Event where Ollie's circumstances spiralled out of control (i.e. the island), it went really really well for him. Like, made him a hero, good for him. Definitely something to be said about the differing levels of locus of control for Hal, Bruce, and honestly every other superhero ever actually.

I think Bruce recognizes that dark desire in Hal, and he's afraid of it (and therefore very distrusting and disdainful of Hal even after Hal becomes the Spectre to redeem himself and after Hal is revived) because he knows that it's something in himself as well. Let's be real, if Bruce had even a fraction of Hal's powers, he'd be corrupted within, like, a day. I swear there's a plotline in a comic somewhere where he gets Superman's powers and is literally corupted within 24 hours.

I think this is also partially why Hal sacrifices himself to save the world from the Sun-Eater and why he keeps trying to sacrfiice himself over and over for the lives of others. Not necessarily just because he thinks his life is worth less than others or because he's just heroic like that (although I do think those play into it), but becuase he's scared to be the only survivor again. At least, that's how I see it.

I do love a good "we're each other's character foils" ship, and I feel like it could be played around with more than it is currently.

i learnt to be fearless, not care what others think(i'm still learning that), cherish the present, shouting lyrics and dancing to good music heals you, hugging myself when need, how to handle panic attacks(i had for the first time in april, body really just goes numb and you cant speak, i fell to the ground and i'm better now dw), made sabjis and doing dishes somedays broke my back! , also learnt french in nov and dec from duolingo and is the owl persistent very much, ride scooty and most of all, i'm there for yourself and i'm my best friend, take care of me and be gentle

It's another beautiful, perfect day in Barbieland. You wake up early in the morning, feeling rejuvenated and excited, for you were finally making the big move to your bestie Kenneth's neighborhood! You're basically trembling with excitement as they load the last of your pink boxes into the pink truck which is ready to leave the pink gates of Rosedale, your previous neighborhood. You get in the front seat of your pink Jeep Gladiator and wave to your friends as you drive off into the sunset, into Barbieville!

You look in awe at the promenade, bustling with so many Barbies, and they all look at you with wide eyes. It was the first time many of them were setting their eyes on a Limited Edition Barbie. The 'Y/n L/n Limited Edition Classy Barbie', was released based on a design made by the daughter of the CEO of Mattel.

You were basically a celebrity in Barbieland, and you were pretty good at handling all the attention, good and bad, which came along with it. You park your truck behind the pink truck, out of which a few Helper Barbies are taking your furniture and items and moving them into your new dreamhouse. You walk out of your Jeep to be swarmed by a whole lot of Barbies, all of them saying Hi and asking for autographs. You couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed, but you take a few deep breaths and wave to all of them, and start signing a few arms, Jerseys and a couple of Beach Shorts. Nothing out of the ordinary.

As you're signing the various articles, out of the corner of your eye, you notice a small commotion, two Kens and a few Barbies. You roll your eyes, brushing it off, until you realize that one of those Kens was - your bestfriend and crush Kenneth. As soon as it hits you, you apologetically hand over a half signed cap to the Ken it belonged to and promised everyone autographs at the 'Welcome to the New Neighbourhood Party' Kenneth was hosting for you, before sprinting towards the sandy beach.

Infront of you, you see Kenneth and another Ken squaring up. Your gaze lingers upon the other Ken, who looks pretty... agitated. Pretty agitated. He had the average blonde hair, a perfect jawline and brown, kind of dreamy eyes which currently looked dark and stormy- Your train of thought was interrupted by Kenneth who was getting a bit too aggressive. He looked cute, as always, but you quickly step in along with a blonde Barbie wearing a Pink checked dress, acting as a barricade between the two disconcerted dolls. The Stereotypical Barbie appears to brush her hand against Kenneth's thigh, but you're sure it was an accident so you let it be.

As soon as he recognizes you, he looks startled. "Y/n- You're here- it's been so long since I've seen you..". You run forward and hug him, and he awkwardly pats your back. Again, you notice the blonde Barbie stare at you two, with a glint of jealousy in her eyes.. but it was cleverly masked with a forced but pretty smile.

"Hey Kennethh, how've you been?" You exclaim although you two spoke over call just last night, a little blush creeping up your cheeks. Just as he's about to answer, Ken rolls his eyes and clears his throat, a mellow but burning rage still in his eyes, effectively ruining your moment.

"What's your problem man.." you mutter under your breath, but the Blondie hears you. "What's my problem you ask? Your tall and han- Your boyfriend is annoying me for no good reason, ask him to back off now." he replies, looking somewhat flustered. Taking a few steps forward, you stand close to him.. very close. You look up at him, and he looks down back at you, his face turning a light shade of pink.

You look straight into his eyes and asks him "What if I don't?" You feel his quick, warm breaths on your supple skin.

He eyes you up and down, thinking for a moment, then he pushes you to the floor, effectively creating a situation where you're under him. You feel your cheeks warming up, and you see him smirk. "Try standing up for your boyfriend now, why don't you?"

Your eyes lock for a second, and you feel something... something new, something intense, but you realise that you're out in the open- OH GOD, what will people think!? You quickly avert your eyes, and again, you notice Kenneth with Barbie.. only this time they appear to be bickering, but slowly move closer.. and closer. You don't get enough time to process this, because Ken is getting off of you and storming towards them both, fists clenched tightly and feet stomping, spewing sand all over you and a few picnic blankets on the sandy floor.

Just as he's about to do something, you see Kenneth push him over to the side, tugging on your hand, and the other Barbie quietly apologises, looking deeply into Kenneth's eyes with an almost lovestruck look and drags the other Ken away. What the hell was going on?

"Who does that asshole think he is?!" You shake your head and start complaining, walking off in the other direction with Kenneth, who starts giving you a tour of his neighbourhood. Even though you know most of the places here, you smile, masking your sadness and longing, and walk with him, feeling happy to be bantering with your favourite person.

After he gave you a detailed tour of Barbieville, he left to "prepare for the party" and "attend to urgent matters". You decide to explore on your own and start walking home to get ready for the party, which had already started. You knew this by seeing the heavily lit up, awfully loud house at the end of the street. To make up for lost time, you speed up, accidentally stumblling into a dark figure, who was.. sniffling?

"I'm so sorry, let me help you up-" you reach out for the Ken who was now on the floor, and instead of stretching his arm out, he looks up at you, and you see Aggressive-Beach-Ken with red and puffy eyes. He looked so vulnerable, so upset, so angry- he looked broken.. An emotion you were unfamiliar with, but his eyes spoke a thousand words.

He slowly got up, and looked dead into your eyes. "W-why couldn't you keep a hold on your boyfriend..?" He says the word 'boyfriend' with so much contempt, it sounds like an insult more than a label. "What do you mean? And he isn't my boyfriend... well not yet. I was hoping to confess to him toda-" Ken bursts out laughing, you could almost hear a hint of insanity in his chortle.

All of a sudden, his face goes blank, expressionless. This scares you. He grabs you by the arm and drags you along quickly. You protest and ask him to leave your hand, but he just kept speeding up, and you had to run to keep up. You were nearing the party, and you were pissed of at Ken because your outfit wasn't pretty enough for the party, and well, you didn't have any makeup on. He dragged you through the gates and when you finally stop bickering with him, you look straight at the spotlight. You let out a small gasp.

Kenneth was kissing the Stereotypical Barbie from earlier.

You make eye contact with your crush, and he chuckles and waves. You suddenly feel your eyes getting moist, and then wet. Water pours down from your small, glassy eyes. Kenneth was confused and started walking in your direction, until Stereotypical Barbie pulled him back in, making out again.

"Guess you lost your chance, Barbie."

Summary:

Word Count: 900 A/N: I haven’t seen the wandavision series or anything else besides the main marvel movies, so the beginning scene is kinda ‘inspired’ from the age of ultron movie.

For a split second, your heart stopped. In front of you was Noctis, lying face down in the dirt. A Yojimbo stood over him. His sword raised far over and behind his head, ready to strike the fallen prince.

Your muscles exhausted from the endless battle. All attempts to stand quickly halted. Either by an enemy striking you or your own body giving out.

You glance up just in time to see the deamons sword begin it’s long decent down. From your position on the ground your arm reaches forward, hoping to summon a barrier or something protective. 

Yet nothing happened.

Your body ached with each movement you made. Even the attempt to use magic drained all the energy you had.

With your last bit of strength you managed to pull yourself up to your knees. Head hung low, long panicked breaths. With one final burst of energy, you let out a scream.

Nothing else could be heard over the loud screech released from your mouth. Around you the enemies begin to fall. Their weapons and armor hitting the ground with a loud clank of metal slamming against various materials and objects.

Once the noise you were creating stopped, Everything went dark.

For what felt like hours, you felt yourself slipping in and out of consciousness. Drifting into the darkness only to feel yourself constantly being moved. Body carried in someone arms, resting on a leather seat, gently placed on a soft sofa.

Slowly you begin to wake up. The silent void replaced with distant. Voices became clearer as words started to connect. You were able to recognize the tones and place them to a person. Ignis.

“I’m not sure on their situation. They’ve been out since we found them.” For a minute he was silent before speaking again. “Yes. I’ll keep you updated, Goodbye.”

Your heart almost broke at the sad tone within his voice. The royal retainer let out a long sigh, likely pinching the bridge of his nose. Before anymore could be said the sound of a door opening came.

“Any updates?” Ignis asked the new person. “Nope, I’m guessing nothing from you.” A deep voice answered. “They haven’t made a peep since we got them here. Prompto has yet to return.”

A creak filled the room before footsteps became louder then stopped in front of you. A hand found itself on your head while a voice softly whispered to you.

You stir slightly at the contact, causing the person touching you to jump back.

“Y/n” Ignis spoke half worried and half excited. Slowly you begin to open your eyes as they adjust to the bright light surrounding you.

In front of you stood 2 different men, both looking with different expressions. Ignis stood worried as he was unaware of how you were feeling while Gladio was excited with a small smirk resting on his bearded face.

“Glad to see you awake”

Gladio spoke first while moving to sit next to you while Ignis began hounding you with various questions.

A loud gasp caught all of you attention. Turning toward the doorway a smile similar to before spreads across your face. Standing by the opening, still in his winter coat, stood Prompto. Tears filled his eyes as he rushes to you with open arms.

“Does that mean Noct is also awake?” He whispered

You quickly pulled away with a worried and shocked expression. Even though you’ve only been awake for a few minuets, you failed to worry about the missing person.

“What wrong with Noc?” You questioned looking in everyone’s direction for an answer. Simultaneously everyone glanced toward the closed door.

As you walked toward it, reasons began to spill out

“He never woke up. We found the both of you alone in a field. He had wounds all over him. You, not so much but still unconscious.”

You closed your eyes and remembered back to that night. 

You and Noctis surrounded by enemies. You defeat one and two more materialize in its place. Before you knew it, you were completely swarmed. Everywhere you look was covered by the unmistakable purple haze of a deamon. 

While they weren’t attacked you physically. The magic usage itself was tiring enough to make it difficult to stand on your own.

Soon you fall to your knees in exhaustion, causing all but a handful of enemies to turn their attention towards Noctis - who is just as exhausted as you.

As the hoard of enemies begin to clear away from the prince, you glance up to see the damage only to see him lying on the ground.

Your eyes snap open at the memory of your power blast filling your head. Your heart begins to ache once you realize, you did this to him. Not only did you kill the the enemies, you also hurt the one you were trying to protect and save.

In a rush, you hurl yourself on the floor to kneel in front of the sleeping prince. You hand clasps around his. The other stood back with a confused look resting on their faces at your sudden outburst.

That shocked turned to amazement as both your hands and his begin to glow and red hue. Silent filled the room as everyone observed your actions from a distance.

The long silent finally lifted as a long groan filled the room as Noctis sat up rubbing his head.

a book that is close to your heart The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh. The vibes are exquisite and as soon as I finished the book I reread it (reread as in where I jump around to different passages and essentially reread it) OK I KNOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE 1 BOOK but I have to mention The Wicker King by K. Ancrum. Bridge to Terabithia on steroids fr, it's such an experience. maybe i shouldve saved this for the acid trip question but whatever I have more answers to that question anyway

Why do you think directors don’t take an interest in Tom? Finding out now that Paul Ling has no input in Fred Astaire is giving me TCR vibes. Like though I love the show, my biggest gripe is that the show had four directors with different tones and multiple writers when it really needed one director who had a deep interest with working with Tom and Akiva.

Even the press for TCR was weird to me because no one other that Tom and the few core cast promoted the show. Not even Brady Corbet, yet he hired Emma Laird for his next film. Do ppl hate Tom like what did he do?????

Im only asking because all actors in Tom’s age range have directors who want to work with them. For Tom’s end it’s silent. I never read young up and coming directors speak anon his talent. Just fans tbh.

Maybe they weren't called in to promote! Tom is the STAR of the show. I would think it would be more of an insult if he's the lead, and they interviewed everyone BUT him! Tom was also not only the lead, but also an EP on TCR. What were you expecting?? 🥴 Tom and Amanda are (no offense) the BIGGEST stars of that series. Why waste time interviewing actors for a series who most probably don't even recognize? (Again, no offense to the rest of the cast, cuz they were great!)

This isn't anything NEW Anon. This is actually pretty typical for a series. There can be various directors for a variety of reasons. I'm shocked you didn't know this?? 🥴 Doing TV is not like doing film where there's typically one director for the whole entire project. A series is different! Usually much more fast-paced as well.

And that's GREAT for them! But that doesn't mean that Tom doesn't have directors who want to work with him. Like, wth?? 🥴 Are you Tom's agent? Are you TOM? The answer is NO to both of those questions. You don't know what Tom has coming! He has probably been negotiating something even PRIOR to the strikes that you don't even know anything about.

Jk jk. While I love all of those for various reasons, none of them really have that emotional oomph for me ykwim. (even the superlantern one, which I’m still crazy abt but not to the level that I think my fave comic book cover should have)

Action Comics #1083 variant cover by Taurin Clarke. This cover makes me genuinely emotional. Idk why. As soon as I saw this posted on instagram by the artist, I rushed to save it so it could be my phone screen for a while. Just… Superman effortlessly shielding a little girl and then calmly holding out his hand to help her up, and she’s just reaching up equally as calm because she knows she’s safe… i just…. Dude i’m actually tearing up while writing this. IDK IT JUST HITS!!!! it's like the you are not immune to propaganda meme but it's you are not immune to hope instead

The Connor Hawke pride cover....so so so good. He's so beautiful. Same for the Jackson Hyde cover, even though I like the YJA version of the character better. The Jorge Jiminez Superman cover on the left also makes me emotional but not as much as the Taurin Clarke one above. The Superman Red and Blue cover on the bottom right is also very good.

That Wonder Woman comic book cover I hadn't seen before I started making this post, and the temptation to make that my fave fave comic cover was SO strong. but alas, i had only known it had existed for the past five minutes. And that one of Clark, Lois, and Jon walking in the pride parade with everyone else.... that also makes me really emotional. (also, hi Alan Scott with a beard... I might be all for women but I'm at least low enough on the Kinsey scale to find him...wow.)

1/ What Ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager but now don’t care about anymore?

I wasn’t really into fandom when I was a teenager, and didn’t have any recognizable ships though sometimes I wish shipping had occurred to me when I was totally obsessed with Young Guns 2.

2/ Which ship would you consider your first one?    This is an easier question since I can remember walking out of X-Men First class firmly convinced that Erik/Charles should be a thing, no one who saw the movie with me agreed that it was obvious subtext.  

3/  Your first fanfic was about which couple?    It depends if you count online rps or not.  If so it was Erik/ Charles (x-men) but if not then it was Stucky (Steve/Bucky) .  

4/  Do you remember the first couple you saw fan art of?   I don’t remember specifically but I am pretty sure it was Stucky.  

5/ Have you ever gotten into ship discourse?    No.  

6/ Did you use to have any NOTP or have one currently?    No.  I don’t read ships I don’t like but the only thing I have tried to block is  (character/reader) fics.  I don’t know if it’s because I don’t like the idea of myself as a character, or because I hate second person POV.  

7 Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?   Aziraphale/ Crowley, though I was mostly looking for content that featured the Bentley as a character 

8/ currently do you have any otps?      I have issue with the idea of otp because if I really like a character then I am willing to pair them with just about anyone else I like..  But not to premise deny this question the pairs I currently love include  Stucky,  Bucky/Zemo,  Carol Danvers/ Valkyrie,  Frank Castle/Matt Murdock, Sanguinius/Roboute Guilliman (warhammer 40k) Aziraphale/Crowley, Garek/Dr. Bashir (Deep space nine) 

9/ Is there any couple that to this day  you are extremely mad about not getting together?   Not really.  After marvel did pretty much everything they could to kill Stucky cannonically I have low expectations of mainstream media.   It is easier to just enjoy what I or others can imagine which feels just as valid as something someone in the entertainment industry comes up with.

10/  Is there any ship you used to dislike but now think they are kind of interesting?  Nope.  if I dislike something, it tends to stick since it’s more about the type of pair than the characters involved.  

11/ Do you have any ship that, in the past, would have been considered normal but now you would be canceled over?     No I can’t think of anything, but I also think if you are canceling someone about how they imagine two fictional people getting together, you need to go and touch some grass.  

12/ What is your favorite crack ship?      Ryan Goslng’s Ken/Simu Lu’s Ken    I love reading this ship but I cannot take them seriously,  Probably not what the question is asking, but i tend to ship my favorite characters together with little regard for logic so it’s hard to answer this question. 

13/ What is the couple you read the most fanfics about?   Stucky.  I’m still reading stucky fanfics and it was one of my very first fandom ships. 

14/   What do most of your ships usually have in common?   Probably that I prefer characters who work best with hurt/comfort stories,   I like reading about broken people who find solace in each other.  

15/ what do you absolutely hate in a ship?   I have trouble answering this question because I don’t hate read fanfics.    If I don’t like something, I stop reading it and that can be for a bunch of reasons.  Mostly characters who are written in a way that doesn’t gel with my understanding of a character but that’s so subjective that is’ hard to nail down specifics.
