#they in fact do have compatible lifestyles—it just takes a bit of balancing work to figure out a rhythm
Text
i love it is kinda ambiguous what Fjord and Jester do with their time year-round, especially Fjord, and how their time is divided bc Jester's studio is said to be inspired by Veth's camp, iirc, so like how much of the year does that take up when the camp is a couple of months. And it is unclear what Fjord is doing day-to-day.
I've been saying since the campaign ended but especially since the start of the two-shot, fully like guys, @ especially Fjord, rotate your months: handful of weeks in port, handful of weeks sailing.
excited to work with this as a thought in the future

Celebrity Synastry Analysis
Married at First Sight - Season 13
Ryan and Brett
Tumblr media
Couples' Synopsis 🗯: Brett (yes her name is Brett) is a more liberal pop-chic, glamour, outgoing type of woman. Ryan is conservative, country music, outdoorsy, camo hunter, introverted guy. So far up to episode 11, they arent really into each other but they get along okay. You can tell that there isnt much of a spark, yet they still participate in activites. First day of the wedding, they were like oil and water as Brett felt uncomfortable with Ryan's lifestyle and views as she grew up in a more socially relaxed upbringing. Ryan is more quiet and soft spoken so although he peeps things he doesn't say much. Brett leads most of their activities together and although she is aware of their differences she's modest and optimistic about it. They dont argue theyve just sorta accepted how different they are and casually press on. They look more like coworkers that dont talk much. Ryan has gone on to say that he doesnt feel a connection with Brett and so he doesnt put in much effort toward the relationship. I created a poll amongst fans asking if they think Ryan's lack of connection is valid OR should he try more to make it work as Brett does? The results were 55% with 75 participants leaning towards them just not being a good fit. I agree in that regard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Below is an example I give for basic synastry clients. One thing astrology doesnt account for is having a connection, as 2 people can be completely incompatible yet still crave each other in a love/lust way. Ive also seen couples that had highly compatible charts but they werent interested in each other. However, despite lacking a natural bond, theyre more likely to come to appreciate one another over time due to how naturally smooth things are. Synastry is more for analyzing the differences in 2 persons' behaviors and personality, as well as how they interact with each other. Youre able to see where you disconnect and where you have similarities. I do them for couples, family members, and best friends.
🌞 Sun - Leo * Scorpio
Represents what each person takes pride in and is the core of their personality. They are incompatible here because they view life and take pride in very different things. Their Suns also create a square aspect which intensifies how polar they are. Leo Suns are more extroverted and take pride in the joys of life, creativity, romance, independence, and things that encourage spontaneity and challenge. Scorpio on the other hand is a deeply emotional intimate sign, as an empath are often more introverted in relationships and prefer a slow and steady intensity. Scorpio is also more a codepenent sign as they feel at their best an most powerful when theyre in charge and can command change in their surroundings. This doesnt work very well with an independent Leo Sun as both of them are fixed (stubborn) signs, one emotional/sensual and the other more playful/fiery. You could see this on their wedding day as Brett felt out of place while Ryan couldnt figure out why Brett couldnt just let go and enjoy the moment.
🌛 Moon - Virgo * Cancer
Represents how each handles emotions, feelings, the way they feel nurtured and nurture others. They have compatible moon signs as their zodiacs are both introverted, sensual, slow and steady, as well as sensitive. Virgo moons are the organizing perfectionists so they tend to pick apart everything they sense and how theyre feeling. As an earth sign theyre very grounded but at the same time are constantly trying to perfect their relationships with others. If youre paying attention to the little details, they will love you for it. Cancer moons are the motherly type and at times codependent because if they care for someone they will try to protect and "mother" them. As an empath they are very sensitive to the feelings of others and do things to try to keep the peace. Because both are introverted, slow paced, and sensitive emotionally this pairing works well. You can see as Brett and Ryan are talking that they feel comfortable with each other especially when sharing their feelings.
🗣 Mercury - Cancer * Libra
Represents the way you communicate, process information, and the key to what goes on in a person's head. They are incompatible here because they process information and communicate very differently. There is also a square aspect which indicates being more prone to misunderstandings as well as having alternate viewpoints on many topics. Those who watch the show can see that they have very different social lives and beliefs. Cancer is more sensitive, family based, an emotional speaker, and empath. Cancers are in a way more dreamy and poetic conversators. They are sensitive to the things others say and fear hurting other's feelings as well as hearing harsh words. Libra is more intellectual, analytical, extroverted, and social. Librans are peacekeepers and enjoy light hearted fun conversation, they arent afraid of blunt direct speaking but dont take well to conflict. However in ways both individuals are people pleasers as these zodiacs feed off the other person, in order to respond in a way they think is acceptable. Ryan prefers a communication style thats more emotional poetic and intimate, while Brett wants someone to joke with and is engaging to have a good time. They dont really talk much and as you can see, Brett engages him more than the other way around. Ryan doesnt feel emotionally connected so often opts out of conversation unless its deep.
💝 Venus - Libra * Sagittarius
Represents your creativity, romance style, inspiration, and foreplay. They are compatible in this area as both zodiacs enjoy this more light and fun essence when doing different activities together. Libra Venus tends to love social activities and things that bring a bit of challenge in to the mix, having a peaceful loving relationship is important to them. Sagittarius is the spontaneous optimistic adventurer, enjoying someone they can grow with and exchange ideas. And because both are able to let go and have fun, theyre able to spend time with each other despite differences. You can see this in the show as both Brett and Ryan still participate in activities together while other couples struggle more.
😡 Mars - Capricorn * Libra
Represents the way you respond to conflict, what motivates you, and the style of sex you prefer. They are incompatible in this planet as they resolve conflict in very different ways. Capricorn the fatherly hardworking zodiac can be more withdrawn and stern, seeking to take some time to calm down before trying to resolve things. They approach conflict by way of hardwork, discipline, structure, conservatism and law. Capricorn Mars play by their rules on whats right and wrong and can have a traditional stance on things. They can get emotional and defensive of what they deem to be law. Libras dont mind approaching conflict head on, because when resolving they tend to remove emotions and analyze the situation. Theyre considered the best judges of the zodiac due to their ability to find balance and bring harmony. However, Libra Mars can be people pleasers and kinda passive about things. If they feel the other is uncompromising they will withdraw. Although Ive never seen them argue, I can predict that Ryan is more on the sensitive side and very matter of fact, while Brett may attempt to get her point across then cave-in once Ryan is noticeably uncomfortable. Although they may be able to trigger each other in the mood by way of Venus, Capricorn mars prefers more slow and steady lovemaking, while Librans like things more fast paced and fun in the bedroom. Im willing to bet that Ryan enjoyed Tantric yoga more than Brett did.
Tumblr media
When it comes to aspects traditionally I would break down them all, but when first looking at someone's chart in a basic synastry standpoint, I analyze longevity factors first. Such as aspects to Saturn, Pluto, North Node, and at times Juno. But to keep this shorter, I'll stick to the 3 major aspects. Conjunctions, Trines, Squares
😇 Saturn Trine North Node - support each others growth through maturity and discipline
👥Saturn Conjunct Uranus -traditionalist vs nonconformist, the unexpected and practical nature of each other is beneficial, but feelings of restriction or unpredictability can crumble the relationship
💣Saturn Square Moon - saturn sees moon as overly sensitive while moon feels restricted. It grows worse over time as each feel misunderstood, its up to Saturn to reconcile this issue by being more attentive.
😇Pluto Trine Sun - encourges confidence, positivity, and has a transforming effect on each partner, mostly Sun
😇Pluto Trine Jupiter - optimism remains through difficulty which allow both to persevere through challlenges
😇Pluto Trine North Node - pluto has the ability to transform and empower North Node on their path to success
💣Pluto Square Lilith - good intentions can get lost in the mix as pluto person attempts to transform liliths obvious struggles
😇North Node Trine Mercury - Mercury stimulates North Node's intellect regarding their purpose and karma in unexpected ways.
👥North Node Conjunct Jupiter - optimism and a sense of purpose motivates each other. This can help them succeed in things they do together.
💣North Node Square Neptune - the future of the relationship can be very cloudy, they may seek to look at each other for inward healing and North Node will lose patience for it all
💣North Node Square Venus - indicates differences in where each person wants the relationship to go, Venus prefers lighthearted fun and romance while North Node takes their path more serious.
📒 Final Thoughts: Based on their compatibility and aspects, there isnt much spark or longevity between them. And they may never quite align for that reason. They could attempt to work through these problems but for a lack of connection on Ryan's end, hes less likely to try to make it work. Brett is at least open to it but having different lifestyles and alternative desires for a relationship will make it hard to move forward. This is why having a mutual connection is so important in a relationship because both partners at least have that glue to try and make differences work. The only thing theyve got going for each other is the ability to understand each other's emotions and have a good time. But when examining aspects, Ryan still views Brett as overly sensitive and not disciplined in her reactions. Even if they did press on with their relationship, they may still find it dull, just based on the lack of fun aspects in their synastry chart.
🧜🏽‍♀️ For inquiries regarding synastry charts please visit my profile introductory post, email misslolasynastry@gmail, or shoot me a message. If you'd like me to analyze a celebrity couple im open to doing so as long as you have both birthdays on hand. I can also analyze family members as well.

Woozi’s Ideal Type - Natal Chart Reading
For more SVT astrology posts, follow my blog! For more posts like this, check out my masterlist as I’ll be doing an in-depth ideal type post for each member!
For ideal types, I’m not going to be doing specific placements of their ideal partner. Instead, I’m gonna be listing personality traits I think would mesh well with them, as well as focus on their needs and the kind of person who could meet them. Keep in mind these are almost “perfect” descriptions of their ideal types based off their natal charts. I promise you that there is no one in the world that 100% fits these descriptions and thats where communication and compromise come in and all that fun stuff.
(Woozi could definitely be a Sag Sun and who knows I may change my mind, but rn I think he’s a scorpio sun. This interpretation doesn’t change much based on his sun as both Scorpio and Sag suns are both independent and desire authentic experiences as romantic partners).
someone fun (fire influence).
someone creative, outgoing, and independent.
interests should be similar as he’d want to connect with someone over his passions, and would want to share in his excitement.
charming, intelligent, rational, communicative (libra venus)
ambitious, adventurous, open-minded, optimistic (sag mercury).
independent, independent, independent. I cannot say it enough. Literally every single part of his chart indicates that he needs SPACE and FREEDOM and would want that for his partner as well.
in my experience, even though scorpios don’t want to admit it, they LOVE validation and they love attention (not in the “asking for permission” type of validation, but they like to have their competence acknowledged).
and although an aries moon may not rely as much on validation as a scorpio sun may, they still love attention.
he’s going to want to be with someone who makes him feel good about himself.
he’s not immune to a great pep talk or a little bit of sincere flattery, and his s/o should be someone whose very generous in their communicating of this.
(even though he may say it makes him uncomfortable. he loves it and I promise he wants it acknowledged).
for that reason as well, he’s going to want to be with someone who encourages and challenges him and has a ready and waiting ear for his ideas, concerns, and random thoughts.
great sense of humor, super super funny (maybe a bit on the sarcastic side) thanks to his sag mercury.
his aries moon also makes him very playful making him crave a youthful and free relationship with his partner.
i’ve noticed aries placements love a kind of “kindred” silliness.
They like being with someone who will meet their ridiculousness halfway.
(also all fire placements love arguing with their significant other over dumb things. this is a fact).
his fiery placements would get very bored with someone who took themselves too seriously.
not to mention his sag influence makes him extremely optimistic so he’d feel bogged down my someone ultra realistic/practical/pessimistic.
he wants to get excited about life and his life with his s/o. they should be equally excited and hopeful for their future together.
they should offer him a very sincere and simple emotional connection as his aries moon and scorpio sun sextile uranus and pluto would want authenticity and would be very quick to suss out shallowness.
not to mention an aries moon can make him incredibly straight forward, while scorpio/sag placements give him a sense of him being a no-nonsense, straight forward guy.
he is fiercely independent thanks to his scorpio sun and aries moon, but his libra venus makes him crave romance.
once he’s set his eyes on someone, that’s all he’ll be thinking about.
like picking-petals-off-lowers, head-over-heels kind of love.
not to mention a scorpio sun would add a super strong tendency towards obsessive habits in love? maybe not in a creepy way like it sounds, but it’d seep into everything he did. the members would probs get annoyed cuz he’ll find a way to talk about his s/o whenever he can, all of his songs will be about them, etc. etc.
the libra venus really softens every other part of his chart that makes him seem indifferent.
it also explains why so many of his songs focus on love, but not just superficial love. like, the more nuanced parts of love and break ups. it goes to show how deeply he’s thought about it and how naturally romantic he is.
it’d also explain why he once said during a fansign that he wrote home because he was lonely (brb gotta cry) this is his libra venus being hyper aware of the space he’s saving for someone.
due to his afflicted moon he’s going to seem cold and distant in the relationship from the outside but he is ACTUALLY the fuzziest boy.
his afflicted aries moon and (unafflicted) libra venus would give him a clumsy, awkward, yet incredibly thoughtful and sincere way of expressing love.
maybe not the king of grand gestures, but his moments will be incredibly sincere and observant.
they’d be moments where his s/o would be surprised he noticed, or didn’t even realize he had been having such sweet and deep thoughts.
it’ll take his s/o by surprise because he keeps his feelings and thoughts close to his chest due to his secretive and private scorpio sun, but he will a-matter-of-factly state them when the moment arises thanks to his scorpio, aries, and sag placements that, again, make him a no-nonsense guy on all fronts.
His afflicted moon and well aspected saturn means that he struggles with emotional freedom and expression while also being incredibly disciplined.
he’d want someone with self-control and goals.
this is also heighten by his virgo mars which makes him both disciplined, a perfectionist, and pretty set in his ways (ya, I know virgo is a mutable sign but have you ever actually met a virgo. you try and get them to eat a piece of toast slightly too toasted for them and it shuts down their core processing).
not only that, but virgos like security.
they like predictability and have very specific preferences that will personally offend them if violated so his s/o should be both understanding and compatible with him on these fronts.
like it may be a deal-breaker if their lifestyles were too different once the initial romance tames and they have to learn to coexist.
this is further emphasized by the fact that virgo is the sign of health, lifestyle & wellbeing. they value this and can tend to be rather inflexible on this front.
his outer planets are all very well aspected to his personal planets, specifically uranus and saturn.
meaning that he’s not only independent, unique, and goal-oriented, but he’s going to want to see the same in his partner.
his trajectory is forward. he is a visionary in the sense of having a great deal of creativity and the work-ethic to see his visions through, and if his partner is someone too focused in the moment and far too preoccupied with getting him to settle down, their paths are simply incompatible.
it really just emphasizes how independent and individualistic he is as a person.
his libra venus definitely softens this and can certainly make him a hopeless romantic, but his core values would make it that he would never allow himself to be too dependent on his partner.
he wants to be his own person before he enters a relationship, and he’d be very adverse to dating someone whose life and goals centered too solely on romance/relationships.
his saturn aspects, afflicted moon, along with a virgo mars mean that he is someone who both struggles with, and desires a kind of “liberation” from time to time.
his s/o should be fun and free and help him forget about the aspects of himself that may be overly self-conscious in certain moments. teach him how to be reckless every now and again while also keeping him on track with his own goals. they shouldn’t be tooo wild, lmao.
Let’s not forget a saturn in aries which is gonna inhibit his ability to be open and expressive as a need for composure and control is incredibly strong, while simultaneously making him rather flighty with commitment and attention.
his need for action and ability to express and process negative feelings like anger are inhibited and go through an confusing filter of being hot-headed and impulsive, to overly critical and cautious which can lead to him appearing cold and short.
his partner should be patient and empathetic enough to help him through these situations, but also understand that him needing space doesn’t reflect his feelings towards his partner.
as passionate and good-humored he’d want his partner to be, a big turn off would be someone who is too expressive and too intense to the point of lacking tact. He’d need someone with self-control, but also someone persistent and committed in order to balance out the aries part of his aries saturn when it decides to act up as it can make him flighty from time to time.
this is heightened by his virgo mars, which can make him very set in his ways and pushing him out of his comfort zones when he’s clearly not interested in challenging those comfort zones is only going to freak him out or irritate him.
trying to breach these will put him on edge, and will more likely push him away than anything else.
not only that, but it’d probably freak him out as it would paint you as someone who wouldn’t know how to give him space.
(literally @ soonyoung).
sounds contradictory but it’s not much more complicated than just encouraging him by example, not by coercion.
in general, he’s looking for someone who can both balance him out and challenge him.
his s/o should be fun, independent, and goal-oriented.
someone charming with a flare for dramatics here and there, but ultimately someone poised he can be proud of who he can look on with with respect and admiration and who’d think the same of him.
someone communicative and ultra-creative, i can see him loving being able to pick up random interests with his s/o that they can discuss and collaborate on.
he greatly desires intellectual companionship paired with a great deal of independence: ideally, he’d want a relationship where their goals are similar and they can encourage, help, and be a place of healing and rejuvenation to one another while making each other laugh along the way.

We are very compatible, but for some reason I still think she and I wouldn’t work. I think it’s because I don’t view myself that highly and I think she deserves the world. I’m also in a place where I’ve dedicated myself to building a relationship with LRboyfriend and I love him. I do not lie or justify with that statement it is just the truth, but love is always varied for me. I think that spending too much time with one person gets frustrating for me. I like spending time with a group, but I think that getting to know someone intimately who I will ultimately spend my life with is thrilling and terrifying.
Aside from that, I think that we aren’t always on the same wavelength. And sometimes I feel...muted? when I’m with him. I suppose there is bound to be a difference between when you are alone and when you are with someone else, but I have this energy that is pulled down a little bit. And maybe I’m not trying hard enough to lift his energy? But he gains his energy a different way, so it is a weird balance I think.
He does not really care for socializing unless it is game related. I love being around my friends for whatever reason. He saves a lot of cleaning stuff until it is visibly too much. I like to do my cleaning in small rounds so that it’s not as hard to handle/doesn’t get to be visibly too much.
I think those are the main things. There are also times where I will say something and he will automatically tell me I’m wrong or disagree or doubt until he finds a piece of evidence that sides with me. That is frustrating.
I think those are my main issues, but I have no idea if they are serious enough to override all the work we’ve put in to get to this point where we can like...communicate clearly? Like you’d think communication would be easy but I am not good with emotions and he often wants to talk about things immediately. I’ve learned to let him know when I need time to process. And he’s learned how not to reason/give advice when I’m just trying to vent. It took...a while. But our relationship grew in such a strange way.
I love that he is willing to put in work, learn, grow, build us into a better team, but sometimes I feel like the balance is still weird. idk.
With her...I feel like communication would be open, soft. I laugh a lot with him, but I could definitely laugh with her. Her energy is light. I could be loud with her. I could more easily explain to her my feelings about black and queer culture. He is bisexual, but doesn’t actively participate in lgbt culture. I think she does. She is working on her passions and hobbies...I think he is too, but it is hard for him to find motivation and that’s not completely his fault. I think some lifestyle changes once we move will be helpful.
But I think also silly of me to think that things would be better just because I am “more compatible” with someone else. The fact that we can work to compromise and communicate and grow, even if it takes time, is a good sign for the future. I don’t take what we have for granted. I don’t take him for granted. He is genuine and willing to help and willing to listen. He is funny, smart, creative, kind. He loves me and his family. He is willing to do things out of his comfort zone to make me happy. He is willing to learn and do things differently if it means a better future for us.
I just think it’s okay to evaluate where I’m at. Only future me knows, but I don’t think I’ll be in a position where I give up a love I know and grew that works well, for the /idea/ of ~something else~

Do's Choose function rather than style Often you choose to be stylish but you should set priorities over preferences. It is important to ensure appropriate functionally rather than being luxurious. Moreover, remember that after remodeling the bathroom, you will not use it for one or two days. Sometimes, many of the accessories give a lifetime warranty. You just have to decide the best equipment for your bathroom. However, trends now a day have been changing radically. Therefore, the choice is yours. Maintain sufficient lighting
Tumblr media
Always try to maintain a bright lighting environment while making the makeovers. If the light shade is of poor quality, change it to an advanced one. The dark atmosphere can lead to small accidents. Besides, remodel the bathroom in such a way so that there is enough scope to enter sunlight. If your previous bathroom does not have a window, take this opportunity of remodeling to insert one. Keep the toilet seat away from the door If you have done this mistake before, do not repeat it. Now, for the remodeling, create a noticeable gap between the toilet seat and bathroom door. You may find it unnecessary. However, when sometimes you leave the bathroom door open, family members or guests will see the commode first. Definitely, it will not be a pleasant experience for them. So, place the cabinet or at least the basin beside the door to avoid this embarrassing situation. Choose the correct height for your sink
Tumblr media
Determining the accurate height for the sink is an issue, which is often ignored. Bathroom remodeling can be a good occasion to fix this matter. The standard bathroom sink height is approximately 29 inches to 36 inches. It may vary considering the height of washroom users. Size may vary in different models of the sink. Select bathroom layouts carefully In the case of reconstruction, you should imagine a layout of the new one on your mind. Perhaps you do not want to see the same structure of your washroom after the renewal. A usual design of the bathroom consists of a basin, toilet, shower, and bathtub. In your new design, you can add a cabinet and some storage space. It is necessary to keep in mind that the structure of your washroom should match the layout of the rest of the house. That does not mean that you should use the same color or same handle everywhere. Make sure to have a compatible design. Your renovation work will represent the creativity, analytical ability, and labor that will go into the course of action. Contact your plumber and electrician It is indeed a crucial part of bathroom remodeling. Make sure you get in touch with an expert plumber. In addition, if you choose to fix the lighting system, you must call an electrician. Keep track on the location of plumbing materials Keeping track of the location of plumbing pipes and water supply can be helpful to you. Having proper knowledge of this aspect will prevent any unpleasant event like obstruction in water supply or damage in plumbing utilities. It will save you from costly repair. Avoid giant-sized bathroom fittings To adjust with your estimated cost, avoid using large size bathroom equipment. You may have the image of a lavish bathtub in your mind, but there is a possibility that it will not fit in your current bathroom. Moreover, a jam-packed place can be the cause of your discomfort. Don’ts Do not pick cheap materials and equipment It is okay to be realistic about the matter of spending money. In order to maintain the budget, do not forget to use quality materials. Trust me, low-priced goods not always ensure good quality. You can minimize the cost without compromising. Try to buy raw materials and other necessary things from wholesale stores. Use your connection to get in contact with the plumber so that you can get a discount. Do not overlook the storage space A bathroom needs not to be spacious but some storage can relax you a bit. Things like cosmetics, medicines, and shower equipment require some space to sit. So, if you through away the idea of having a small store space, you will face some trouble afterward. Do not make list at the last moment If you are thinking that a small place like the bathroom does not need suitable planning for renovation, you are mistaken. Proper planning is the key to successful construction work. Whether the work is lengthy or short-lasting it does not matter. Before you start working, decide the remodeled structure. Discuss the remodeling plans with the rest of the house members so that there remains a little scope for errors. Make the list of the essential things and set an estimated budget. You may need to add or subtract the price when you will start shopping. Always keep a backup balance in case of an emergency. Keep track of the timing. Do not try to do deep plumbing work alone To cut the budget, you can try some simple plumbing work. Nevertheless, do not overwork and consult a remodeling company. If anything goes wrong in your experimental activities, you may get devastated over the fact. Your idea of handling the procedure alone will be time-consuming and it will affect your budget. Do not forget to ensure proper ventilation If the previous structure of your bathroom has a damp wall and floor, it may be a consequence of an inappropriate ventilation system. It is time to let some fresh air and sunlight enter your washroom. Due to seasonal change, sunlight may not be available throughout the year. To solve this problem, install an exhaust fan. It will emit the excess steam. The bathroom structure is different from the rest of the house. It frequently gets in touch with water. So, use your budget on mold-resistant or waterproof paints. Do not include an improper drainage system The wet floor makes your washroom an unsafe place. A slippery floor is not something that you can take lightly. It can even cause danger to the lives of pregnant women, children, and elder people. While remodeling the washroom, ensure a proper drainage system to prevent frequent falls. Another solution is the use of small-scale floor tiles. It will provide a rough texture on the surface. Do not move built-in equipment unnecessarily A total reconditioned bathroom will cost you two or three times more money. If the sink, commode, shower, and bathtub are in good condition, I will discourage the idea of relocation. If one or two of these equipment need care, then you can go with the process. But, think twice before making any major change. Every renovation work requires precision and perfect arrangement to execute the planned structure. It does not matter whether you live in Long Beach, Stanton or Placentia. You take the trouble of renovation to create a suitable and relaxed surrounding. Think of it as a project that you need to finish perfectly. A bathroom remodeling needs the same type of accuracy and planning as the house. Only spending money will not make a successful project. A to Z research is a prerequisite. You must study the design, create the format for layout, and avoid unnecessary or fancy renovation ideas. You should plan according to your budget so that, your requirements fulfill within your budget. You also need to relate to the lifestyle of your house members. Bathroom remodeling includes management of bathroom roof and foundation. Tiny details like water supply, fractural damage, electric connection safety, floor condition, square feet measure need to be supervised thoroughly. In this big world of works, mistakes are bound to happen. Sometimes due to a lack of skill, you do not even notice the faults. This article includes both the Dos and Don’ts of bathroom remodeling. I hope that will avoid some possible hampers that can get onto your way of construction work. Read the full article

What I want to see in Iron Fist season two (version 2.0):
1) The most obvious storyline to continue would be Davos becoming Danny’s nemesis. That would mean a move away from the Rand Corporation corporate politics and more focus on the aftermath of K’un L’un’s destruction and the war with the Hand. I don’t think the Hand storyline will necessarily continue since they were soundly defeated in “The Defenders” but it would be interesting to see Davos try to build something from the remains. Like maybe he gathers the remaining Hand ninja who escaped the final battle.
That being said, the show should still find a way to balance the Davos storyline and the Rand Corporation storyline, which leads to my next point.
2) This may be difficult to pull off but in order for Iron Fist to truly fit with its Defender sister shows, I’d like for the show to actually delve into some social issues. To recap:
* Daredevil season one dealt with gentrification while season two dealt with the concept of vigilantism/faults in the justice system
* Jessica Jones dealt with rape culture/toxic masculinity
* Luke Cage dealt with racial and class issues/inner city problems
Because of who Danny Rand is, Iron Fist could really dive into the lifestyle of the 1% and show their effects on society. Have Danny Rand learn what his company and other corporations are doing and use his team-up with Ward Meachum in order to show what it’s really like being part of the 1%.
I know that sounds very different from the street-level focus of the other shows but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s a lot of good drama that can come from this, such as Danny being repulsed by the upper class’ excessive lifestyle, learning that other companies like Roxxon are getting away with major natural disasters caused by their actions, being inspired by Tony Stark shutting down the weapons division of his company despite taking a massive hit in his stocks, getting tempted by wealth and trying to impress Colleen with his wealth (before she tells him she doesn’t care for his money, you know, the usual), truly learning the extent of his privileges, and so on.
Like how Luke Cage immersed its audience with life in Harlem, Iron Fist can do the same but with the focus on the rich and powerful.
Now how can the Davos storyline connect with the 1% storyline? Well, remember in Daredevil season one where Madame Gao was selling “Steel Serpent” heroin? There you go, Davos is the mastermind behind the heroin trade (along with other drugs) that’s seeping into all parts of the city, including the 1%.
3) Danny Rand lightens up a bit. Come on Netflix, the guy’s more likable when he’s funny or at least not trying to hammer in his “I am the Iron Fist” message down everyone’s throats. I also say this because we really do need a “jokester” Defender among the four.
Matt is all about his Catholic guilt and pessimism, Luke is a nice, lovable guy but not the comedic-type, and Jessica is just pure sarcasm. It’d be nice to have Danny be the funny one of the group, especially since the Hand is defeated (for now). He can chill for a bit. Plus, this would give Danny a lot more personality, which would benefit Finn Jones since his performance so far has primarily been repeating that he’s the Iron Fist and that he protects K’un L’un.
4) Danny Rand x Misty Knight may be a thing in the comics but for season two...I don’t know. Honestly, I think it’d be a bit forced to have Danny leave Colleen and go with Misty this early. If (and this is a big if) Marvel decides they still want Danny and Misty to still be a thing, here’s how I think they should go about it.
First off, break up Danny and Colleen in the best way that they can. And I don’t mean throw in some bullshit like what Agents of SHIELD / The CW does. Have it be a natural break-up. Now that they’re past the honeymoon stage, they start to realize that they aren’t really compatible with each other. It doesn’t have to be anything big, it could be the small stuff, like they disagree on simple topics and they hate each others’ hobbies. Then, when they realize things aren’t working out, have Colleen end the relationship, with Danny agreeing that this is for the best.
(Colleen should end it since she’s the more emotionally mature one in the relationship)
That’s when you start teasing Danny and Misty. Definitely have them become close friends throughout season two and then near the end of the season, start giving hints that Misty and Danny may have feelings for each other. Like maybe throw in some subtle (or not so subtle) stares in the final episode. Save their romance for season three.
You can actually treat this like a balancing beam. As Danny and Colleen approach the end of the season, they start to grow apart while Danny and Misty grow closer together. Of course, this would be done right if the show had a good writer who can handle the relationship dynamics. Here’s hoping that they do have one.
Once again, this point is all based on the possibility that Marvel wants to go for the Danny and Misty route. For all we know, they could remain rooted to Danny and Colleen. So take this point with a grain of salt.
4.5) As a supplemental to this point, don’t make Misty and Colleen enemies. We still need the Daughters of the Dragon spin-off. Have the break-up be clean with no bullshit jealousy and petty rivalries.
5) Introduce Shang-Chi! He’s basically Marvel’s version of Bruce Lee and seeing as how Iron Fist was created during the martial arts craze in the 1970s, it would be nice if they introduced the other major Marvel hero that cashed in on the fad. Shang-Chi needs more love from Marvel anyways and Iron Fist would be a great spot to introduce him.
In fact, more Asian heroes would be welcome. Blindspot is another one that comes to mind, as well as the other Hand characters that haven’t been introduced yet (like Kirigi, Master Izo and the Gorgon)
6) Don’t do what Scott Buck did in season one. Fix the pacing, focus on strong characterization, and don’t stall the story early in the season. We don’t need a repeat of the mental hospital arc.
7) I don’t really have an opinion on the Meachum family but it would be great if their writing was more...nuanced? I don’t know if that makes sense but from where season one left off, it looks like Joy’s going down the villain path while Ward is on the redemption path. Hopefully, the writers give these characters some solid development.
Someone else can write meta on Ward but for Joy, the writers should use Cottonmouth as an example of how to write her descent into darkness. Cornell didn’t WANT to be a gangster but he fell into the role, like what’s happening to Joy. I just don’t want her to be written as outright evil since that’s just boring.
EDIT 8) Fix the damn fight choreography. Ask the Daredevil team if they could borrow their choreography team for a bit.
Now that the Defenders is done, they have NO excuse for poor fight choreography. They have the time to focus on improving the fights. I don’t even wanna hear that the producers have to rush the fight scenes again since the big crossover event is finished.

Bring out undoubtedly not stress; support is in fact handy dued to the fact that I will definitely emphasize some fine prints that are really usually put away by unwarranted merchants.
Spurious distributors will certainly mislead the novice people through presenting never just prior to listened to rates. In some internet sites, I bumped into $500 listed for a four-week-old French bulldog pup pet dog. It is essential that you need to never come to be for such catches. The real entrances are actually right now accumulating on enriching their customer foundation by asking for right id. A whole lot of the web sites that take care of the purchase of brand-new pups possess an on the web reputation body - the more the on the web track record, the better the customer. In addition to that, take into consideration the approach of transport; these young new puppies need to be actually supplied under trendy environments. Confirm whether the supplier desires to offer such facilities. Paying for an amount of hundreds additional for the protected transport of the household pet is highly recommended.

Become a Streaming Star with Logitech’s New StreamCam
Logitech has just announced their new $169.99 StreamCam. Described as, “the ultimate experience for streamers,” the new camera is small but does an amazing job capturing audio and video at a time when any individual with a computer can now be a content creator.
The Logitech StreamCam is a video capture camera for those who are focused on streaming and gaming. The goal was to bring people together, not just about focus on products but great products that allow you to connect with others. One of the biggest ways that happen today is through video. In fact, in a recent study, 52% of young people want to become stars on YouTube compared to 15% who say they want to be famous through a more “traditional” medium. Yes, more kids wanted to be YouTube stars than traditional movie stars.
The Logitech StreamCam camera is small but packs a punch. Measuring a little more than 2 inches long, it is a little over 2 inches wide and 2 inches high at its largest point. In other words, the camera is small, but it packs a punch.
CONNECTS WITH USB-C: The standard for fast and reliable connections, StreamCam uses USB Type-C to ensure efficient video transfer speeds. Compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 10.14 and above.
Connected to the StreamCam is a long cable that ends in a USB-C connector. The company was intentional in its decision to use a USB-C connector and not a legacy USB-A connection. This makes sense considering the amount of data being captured by the camera and sent to the computer. They also opted not to include a USB-C to USB-A dongle in the box both because this would degrade the quality of the audio and video but also because it would add to technology waste. When you get a dongle, you don’t need in a box, it just ends up in the garbage so better to not include it and make them available for purchase at a reasonable price. Considering the incredible damage, we’re doing to the planet. I like the fact that companies are beginning to think this way.
VERSATILE MOUNTING OPTIONS: Achieve the perfect angle for any stream or video with flexible mounting options. The monitor mount features the ability to tilt and pan, or you can even mount it on a tripod. Built-in electronic image stabilization reduces camera shake from accidental bumps or movement.
The Logitech StreamCam comes with two ways to attach it. One connector allows you to connect it to your monitor or your computer screen if you’re using something like an iMac. It’s a connection system we’ve seen before, and it works quite well.
Also, Logitech included a connector that has a traditional tripod screw mount. This allows you to have total flexibility about locating and mounting your camera.
Also, both mounts can hold the camera either in landscape or portrait, so you don’t have to rotate your video once you’re into post-production. It’s that kind of thoughtful, small tweak that makes a huge usability difference.
STREAM TRUE-TO-LIFE AT 60 FPS: Tired of looking a bit dull? Stream and record vibrant, true-to-life video with smooth motion and crisp details in full HD 1080p at 60 frames per second.
SMART AUTO-FOCUS AND EXPOSURE: Stop losing focus in the middle of streams and videos. AI-enabled facial tracking delivers accurate focus and exposure no matter where you’re positioned. Auto-exposure is finely tuned so you look your best in a variety of lighting conditions.
FULL HD VERTICAL VIDEO: Simply turn your StreamCam to instantly shift into portrait mode. Enjoy full HD in the 9:16 format —perfect for Instagram and Facebook stories.
This new camera was developed specifically for streamers. It has high fidelity audio and stabilized video. The stabilization may seem odd in a video camera that connects to your computer, but it allows you to get a smooth video even if you bump the desk. If you’ve ever had to go back and re-shoot a video because there was motion you didn’t realize you were creating by knocking on your desk, this is a feature you’re going to love.
The camera was designed based on customer feedback. Here are some of the things the company was told and work to build into the new camera.
Fast: The camera that delivers 60 frames per second for smooth, crisp, lifelike video that will work for gamers and lifestyle videos alike
Stabilization: The camera has built-in image stabilization, so the camera doesn’t shake when we bump it during a stream.
High-quality video: sharp, vibrant, responsive images tuned for color accuracy
Smart AI: automatic exposure compensates for poor backlighting even as lighting conditions change
High-quality glass: The camera has a lens that delivers a 78° field of view. The premium glass lens is paired with an indicator light, so you always know when the camera is on
Full HD 1080P at 60 frames per second: capture every detail and vivid color with accurate and smooth motion?
Smart Video: Facial tracking driven by artificial intelligence auto adjust focus and exposure
Full HD Vertical Video: Simply rotate the camera 90° to create videos in portrait mode
The camera is specially designed to capture video with a high frame rate. The camera sensor is excellent at light gathering and can capture full-motion 60 frames per second video. It manages memory in a way that is efficient, but it is worth noting that this camera is targeted toward fairly high-performance computers. I asked about using it with my 12 inch MacBook and was told I would probably find better performance if I use my MacBook Pro instead.
Also, the camera captures audio quite effectively without the need for a separate audio capture device.
Other features of note include:
Auto image rotation
Auto focus
Smart exposure
Artificial intelligent framing
Stabilization
The Logitech StreamCam works with a variety of different video software solutions. Logitech is releasing software that takes full advantage of the camera’s abilities. I’ll be writing about that in the upcoming review. For now, however, I’ll focus on one aspect of it that stands out.
A POWERFUL COMBINATION: Logitech StreamCam is even more powerful when used with Logitech Capture. Capture unlocks features on StreamCam that automate exposure, framing, stabilization and more, so you can focus on making your best content.
One of the challenges the company set out to address was the need to tweak the settings every time you plug in the camera or if you swap between cameras. There’s a great feature within the Logitech Capture software that lets you save your settings so that once you set up the camera and get the balance and the focus just right it will return to those settings each time you plug in the camera and fire up the software
And, well, what matters most when selecting a video capture camera is the quality of the video and the audio, there’s also something to be said for aesthetics. Logitech decided to deliver the new camera in both white and black so it can match your computer set up.
The company worked with influencers when developing this new device, and it delivers for under $200. When it’s released, the Logitech StreamCam will be $169.99 in the United States, and it will be available worldwide and select markets. Check it out here. The Logitech Capture software for Mac is available as a free beta download here. We’ll have a video review shortly.

The Fundamentals Of Unwind Your Mind Revealed
A Course In Miracles
A Course in Miracles is thus pure, so remarkable, thus strong, consequently far more mentally innovative than every other item of the world's literature (past and current), that you need to really experience it to believe it. Yet those whose minds are as well connected to life ideas, and lack the underlying thirst for real metaphysical know-how that is required for its understanding, are going to likely not comprehend a single entire page. That is actually not considering that A Course in Miracles is actually puzzling - as a matter of fact its guidelines are incredibly basic - however rather because it is the attributes of religious knowledge that those that are certainly not all set to understand it, merely can certainly not know it. As mentioned in the Bible, at the start of guide of John: "The sunlight shineth in night, as well as darkness comprehended it not".
Since I initially came to be aware of the magnificent and stunning presence of God, I have actually taken pleasure in checking out lots of fantastic spiritual jobs like the Bible (my favorite parts are the Sermon on the Mount and Psalms), the Bhagavad-Gita, the Upanishads, the Koran and the poetry of Kabir as well as Rumi. None resemble the success of a Course in Miracles Reviewing it along with an open mind and center, your fears and also issues wash away. You familiarize a wonderful affection deeper within you - much deeper than anything you knew previously. The potential begins to seem to be therefore bright for you as well as your really loved ones. You experience love for everybody consisting of those you formerly have tried to leave excluded. These adventures are incredibly effective as well as sometimes toss you off balance a little bit of, yet it deserves it: A Course in Miracles launches you to a passion so tranquil, so strong and also thus global - you will certainly think about how therefore several of the globe's faiths, whose intention is apparently a comparable adventure, got so off track acim.
I wish to mention right here to any sort of Christian that believes that his congregation's teachings do certainly not genuinely satisfy his thirst to recognize a kind, merciful as well as caring God, however is relatively scared to read the Course given that of others' cases that it is irregular along with "correct" Christianity: Don't fret! I have checked out the scriptures sometimes and also I guarantee you that a Course in Miracles is actually entirely steady with Jesus' teachings while he performed the planet. Don't worry the obsessed protectors of exclusionist view - these inadequate people assume themselves to become the only carriers of Jesus' message, and the only ones worthwhile of his great things, while all various other will definitely debauch. A Course in Miracles mirrors Jesus' correct information: unconditional affection for * all people *. While he was actually on earth, Jesus mentioned to evaluate a plant through its own fruit. Thus provide it a shot and observe just how the fruits that ripen in your lifestyle preference. If they sample poor, you can easily abandon A Course in Miracles. Yet if they sample as pleasant as mine perform, and the millions of other correct seekers that have actually found A Course in Miracles to be nothing at all a lot less than a heavenly treasure, then congratulations - as well as may your soul consistently be actually generously filled up with serene, nurturing happiness.
Transforming Lives Through A Course in Miracles.
As the headline suggests, A Course in Miracles is a training device. It shows our team what is actually actual and what is unreal, as well as leads our team to the direct experience of our own Inner Teacher.
The Course is arranged in 3 components: a text, a workbook for pupils as well as a manual for instructors. The Text provides the principles rooting the Course. The book includes 365 daily courses that offer pupils the option to use and also experience the concepts on a sensible level. The teacher's manual appears in a question and also solution layout, taking care of normal questions that a trainee might ask; it also gives an information of conditions used throughout the Course.
On How it All Began
The Course was written through Helen Schucman and also Bill Thetford, 2 highly educated and prosperous Professors of Psychology at Columbia University's College of Physicians and also Surgeons in New York City. Helen was the scribe for the Course, jotting down in shorthand the inner messages she obtained. Costs keyed what Helen created. It took an overall of seven years to complete A Course in Miracles, which was initial published in 1976 in the United States. Helen composed additional handouts. Her Song of Prayer was posted in 1977 and The Gift of God in 1978.
Over the past 34 years, the attraction of A Course in Miracles has increased as well as dispersed worldwide. It has actually been equated in to 18 different foreign languages and more interpretations remain in the works. Throughout the globe, individuals compile with various other compatible pupils to check out the Course all together if you want to a lot better understand the Course's notification. You can easily connect along with various other Course trainees on Facebook, Yahoo Groups, Twitter, as well as many other internet sites acim.
Experiencing the Course
The Course is designed to be a self-study device. Nevertheless, many trainees find that their 1st communication along with the product is difficult as well as difficult - the adjustment in perspective that it delivers contrasts typical reasoning. Taking an initial training class along with an experienced company or even teacher allows a gentler position to these brand new concepts and an extra meeting experience.
There are actually lots of classes and core curricula located upon the approach of A Course in Miracles, as well as also specific classes on crucial Course concepts, including True Forgiveness or Cause and Effect. Such lessons give trainees the odds to experience the concept as well as application of details component much more deeply. Through such deep experience, many trainees discover the confidence of inner peace and the happiness of knowing the Inner Teacher.
A Very Brief History of a Course in Miracles
Over 40 years earlier, a psycho therapist coming from Columbia University began to direct discoveries coming from a spiritual body that she was enticed was actually Jesus themself. She as well as her assistants made teachings that loaded numerous empty web pages over a time period of seven years which later ended up being "A Course In Miracles."
The psychologist was actually a Jewish girl named Helen Schucman, as well as she told individuals that Jesus Christ themself was her own sense manual for these courses as well as trainings. These courses were actually meant to deliver support for individuals to know that they were the only ones responsible of their very own sensations, attitudes, activities as well as fates. The teachings took numerous charges of actions away from the equation. Indeed, a trademark of the ACIM training course is that evil itself does not exist. The ACIM mentors assert that through teaching your mind effectively, you can easily learn that there is actually no such factor as wicked, and also that it is actually merely an impression or even one thing that folks have established to discourage and control the actions as well as thoughts of those who are actually not capable of presuming for on their own. ACIM firmly insists that the only point that does exist is pure affection and also upright minds and also emotionally right thinking will certainly not allow everything like bad to exist.
These ideas and also opinions agitated many individuals who belonged to some of the primary religions due to the fact that, while they upheld a number of the exact same principles, this training program additionally sought to possess individuals think that evil is actually unreal and consequently sin is actually also certainly not genuine. ACIM itself tries to have people feel in the solemnity as well as smart views and actions and also in the reality that nothing at all may injure you unless you strongly believe that it can. New Age authorities were quick to grasp onto these concepts because many of the New Age religious beliefs are actually located out transgression as well as atonement yet the energy of one's personal thoughts and feeling.
ACIM performs offer some trainings regarding how to rid yourself of upset as well as damaging feelings that are actually swamping your life with problems as well as producing ailment and heartache day after day. A Course In Miracles instructs you that you are in charge of these emotions and also they are actually just hurting you. Consequently, it falls to you to rid all of them coming from your life for your personal contentment and also prosperity.

Blog for May 21, 2019
This week in class on Tuesday, we discussed Interpersonal communication in close relationships. In my previous blogs, I discussed my troubling situations with family members, fitting in a whole different culture, and boys. I thought I would just use this blog to simply discuss the improvements I noticed with my overall relationships. One of the first things I noticed that I’m lacking with my relationships is the far proximity that I usually hold against everyone and my physical contact. I announced in one of my latest blogs that I improved on using physical contact with people, and I continued to improve it. I feel like my friendships are a lot more peaceful, intimate, and closer. I have gone out of my way quite a bit recently and held a party in my residence for 2 of my Haitian friends Saturday for Haitian flag day. All weekend, me and my friends attended to shared activities such as going to the Block Party, hosting the party, going to church on Sunday in Chicago, enjoying a nice lunch/dinner at Cracker Barrel, and finally ending the day with taking a brisk walk along the Riverwalk before it rained. I can see now that we’re quite tight nowadays, especially because I toned down my roasting behavior quite a bit. My friends are now quite often initiative and enjoy spending time around me and share a moderate attachment bond like old family members. I also even opened up the opportunity for us to vent or talk about personal things with each other, something that always happens, but I let them know why I used to always be in my room or be in a sour mood. On Friday after the Block Party, we enjoyed a nice few episodes of this amazing tv show on Netflix called The Society (I recommend!), all initiated and planned by them. Now, my adapted behavior feels like second nature, while I roast, at a minimum, with a couple of my friends that I know will take it well. Another one of my biggest insecurities with friends that reoccur from time to time but has been improved is accepting the fact that everyone has other friends. While it still comes up since I’m just so used to attaching to others and vice versa, I’ve gotten a lot less disappointed and I empathize more often with people. I’ve recognized that I spend the whole weekend with 3 main people, while occasionally talking to my other friends, so I can no longer get jealous over that. It brought a piece of mind recognizing that for me. Reflecting from the other friendships I had from back home when I was in high school, all the friends I made this year turned out to be the best friendships I’ve had in a while. I can see nearly all of them being long term no matter how many times some of us argues with each other. Nearly all of them seem to be relationship-based, especially since we’re all basically neighbors of each other and we have much easier access to each other. Another good thing about these friendships seems to be that even though some can be quite high obligation-based, most of the times, I share low maintenance friendships with people and I tend to click easily and well with others. I really feel like myself around these people, since they’re very supportive and really seems to understand me and seem to be compatible with me. I’ll be honest and say that this was one of the hardest, most complexed, and craziest school year I ever had. Transitioning from high school to college was thrown right into my hands, I had to adapt quite quickly and still worry about my grades. Even though nearly every professor I’ve had so far has been supportive and helpful with me transitioning, most of my maturity, growth, experiences, and adaptation came strictly from me and my choices. Me having the friends I do has kept me sane, happy, normal, and balanced through my heavy schedule that consists of constant studying, typing up papers, being tired, exercising, keeping up with the band, and trying to relax whenever I can. I can say easily that my friends here are my family here that looks after me while I’m 600 miles away from my blood family. For that guy I explained in one of my older posts, I did go ahead and reveal to him my feelings. However, it’s not looking too good because he admitted to being on and off with my his ex and he’s not doing his part with communicating in the friendship. He apologized and hopes that we continue to be friends. I’m very hesitant with the ex part because that’s nothing but circling feelings that count potentially put me in an awkward position. I care about the guy and I bonded with him in a few ways on a personal level as I would normally do with my female friends, which is pretty uncommon for me and a guy, so there’s definitely potential present for a good outcome. I plan on reviewing the book, making sure I manage my emotions, thoughtfully and effectively communicate with him while keeping my distance emotions wise. If everything goes well and we communicated correctly, he could be my next s.o., if feelings don’t happen, he could be my next guy best friend (something I am in need of), or if my gut is consistently telling me something is up and I should bail, then at least there was a learning opportunity.
When it comes to my relationships between me and my family members, I’ll say it’s quite like my friends. I don’t get to call/text them nearly as much as I need to, but whenever I do call with them, we always end on a positive note, so it outweighs my minimum quantity. My grandparents that reside here in Illinois are the only family members I have issues with, regardless of the number of times either one of us communicates with each other. There is always a lot of tension in the household and between those 2, and they seem to influence me with the negativity almost every time without them knowing that they’re doing so. A couple of times they stopped and realized that they are doing it. In the past, they tried a few times to stop their use of damaging words and criticism towards me, but unfortunately, they quickly continued to do so. Our conversation orientation was open, mostly from their end, but a lot of times they don’t take into account things like my experiences, my personality, and culture that differentiates me from them. Then, they have these different expectations of the different roles they come up with.  A lot of times, some of the roles they expect can be the exact opposite of another one of their roles, therefore it doesn’t really work out in the end. They’re open-minded but at the same time very ethnocentric, especially when it comes to people of a younger age or others on the opposite side of their political beliefs.  Over the Spring break after being at their house, not having fun, and being under pressure having to worry about school for the entire time, I decided to only keep our relationship business-oriented with some hospitality if it’s needed. I think the worst part about that is that I worked hard for my Spring break, expecting myself to go to the beach or at least relax. My grandparents, for the most part, don’t know how to settle and relax since they’re used to constantly working and handling organizations. I believe that the main reason for this problem is because they’re very traditional and conformist oriented. They hold a high bar for me to take max number of classes, work, do band, and to have leisure time but to also not worry about having real fun either (grandfather admitted that). In the past, they have judged the way that I dress since I don’t dress like a girl and business-like the way they do, but the judging comments ceased when they finally got used to it ever changing fashion taste and realizing I’m at least getting music while I dress the way I do. The good thing is that the other suprasystems are a lot more supportive, more receptive to my needs, and respects me a lot more. I’ll say that the other reason this year has been so difficult is because of me being so far away from my home for so long. I’m quite tired of seeing unfamiliar people besides my friends, plus I miss the old country lifestyle and environment.

Netflix’s “Our Planet” And Our Personal Responsibility To Combat Climate Change
A couple weeks ago, I made the mistake of watching Netflix’s new documentary series Our Planet after hitting a friend’s weed pen. Even though I knew that famed naturalist David Attenborough’s latest project aimed to explicitly address the effects of climate change, I was still expecting to (mostly) enjoy a big, splashy nature doc, letting myself become fully immersed in the overwhelming beauty and vastness of life on Earth — especially since, someday all too soon, many of these glorious scenes will be lost to us.
What I didn’t expect were the horrors awaiting me at the (now-infamous) end of Episode 2. A huge group of walruses congregate on a tiny stretch of land because they can’t gather on swaths of Arctic sea ice that no longer exist. Forced to find space from the crowd, some of the poorly sighted animals climb up steep cliffs — then, sensing other walruses below, fling their bodies off the edge. Somehow I’d missed all the coverage of Netflix’s warnings to animal lovers about this particular moment. Even if I had, I don’t think anything could have prepared me to see these gentle, gigantic animals tumble to their deaths. I started to weep; I think being stoned could only partially account for my spiral.
Piles of walrus bodies, smashed and bloody, will now join the morbid climate change gallery I keep on shuffle in my brain when I’m, say, trying to go to sleep or otherwise enjoy my life: the endangered orangutan trying to stop a bulldozer and save its home, or the polar bear mother and cubs crowding onto a tiny block of ice in the environmental advocacy commercials that used to play, over and over again, in my childhood. Even worse: I picture the growing number of human climate refugees, driven from their homes by droughts, flash floods, and fires, a tableau of mounting apocalypse on a near-biblical scale.
Walruses aside, some critics don’t think that Our Planet goes far enough. Yes, we see a fair bit of animal death, in addition to ghostly forests of dead coral and crumbling glaciers; but “the camera still captures life on a grand scale: Wildebeest herds are enormous, penguin colonies stretch as far as the eye can see, millions upon millions of ants inhabit jungle floors,” writes Brian Resnick at Vox. He wishes that Our Planet had fewer Planet Earth– and Blue Planet–style scenes of grandeur and more moments that convey “a visceral sense of loss.”
I appreciate that criticism. But there was also a part of me (maybe a horribly naive one) that was glad Our Planet took the time to capture the world’s still-thriving habitats — especially since it focuses on a number of areas and species that have been recently rehabilitated by human efforts to curb deforestation, overfishing, and the effects of climate change. Siberian tigers are slowly crawling back from the brink; blue and humpback whales have seen dramatic recoveries thanks to international efforts to save them. Maybe, if we act in time, not all of this will be lost. Do we dare to dream?
Like the producers of Our Planet, who had to balance making an entertaining program with warning its hundreds of thousands of viewers about oncoming global peril, I struggle in my daily life to juggle my hopefulness and my despair — and my culpability. How am I supposed to weigh my overwhelming fear and guilt and anger and sense of powerlessness about climate change against the hope that, through aggressive collective action, we can demand a better future for ourselves, for future generations, and for a planet’s worth of precious species?
As the world continues to burn, I think a lot about a Supreme Court case that made a big impact on me when I first learned about it in a constitutional law class in college. Before their case made it to the Supreme Court in 1992, the Defenders of Wildlife and other environmental organizations rallied against new regulations applied to the Endangered Species Act of 1973, which required federal agencies to consult with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to ensure their actions aren’t likely to threaten imperiled species and their habitats in the US or at sea. Organizations committed to conservation filed an action against the secretary of the interior, hoping that the new regulations could be discarded in favor of the original interpretation of the ESA, which hadn’t involved such a limited geographic scope.
The main question the court would be answering in Lujan v. Defenders of Wildlife: Did environmental organizations, made up of people with a vested interest in keeping endangered species outside the US alive, have standing to sue for the right to protect them? Put differently — do we, everyday American citizens, have the right to some legal assurance that, somewhere very far away, endangered animals and their precious habitats aren’t being annihilated with the support of taxpayer dollars?
Turns out, we don’t.
The plaintiffs tried to propose that anyone part of a “contiguous ecosystem” who would be adversely affected by a federal agency’s actions has standing to sue, a theory the court rejected. Even if the court assumed that federal agency–funded projects might pose a threat to an endangered species, the justices saw no proof that those projects would produce a “factual showing of perceptible harm” to the members of environmental groups, who might wish to one day visit other parts of the world and find the wildlife there unsullied by the tireless and maniacal reach of American industry.
I’ve always found this question to be a philosophically fascinating one, almost poetic. Do I have the right to the knowledge that the incredible biodiversity of our planet is going to keep existing out there in the big wide world — particularly without being fucked over by the people representing me in our federal government? It’s a different question than whether these endangered species deserve to survive on a habitable planet in the first place, one that’s intertwined with the other most pressing questions of our time: whether Americans have the right to prevent our government from furthering climate catastrophe for the globe’s most impoverished communities, who have contributed the least to climate change but most keenly feel its effects; or whether we have the right to demand our government take action to ensure that we Americans too might survive current and forthcoming climate catastrophes.
Still, it’s a question I keep finding myself coming back to: Do I have the right to feel comforted by the existence of a natural world that, however indirectly, I’ve helped to destroy?
For the past few years, I’ve seesawed between feeling compelled to drastically reduce my carbon footprint and throwing up my hands in defeat. What does it matter anyway? I eat meat, though lately less of it. Jury’s still out on children. I fly too often — sometimes for work, but most of the time to escape my urban environment and vacation in the great outdoors, grimly and guiltily aware that, to enjoy the natural world, I’m contributing to its demise.
Last winter, my partner and I took our most ambitious trip yet: a week to visit family in South Africa, then another week of game drives and boat rides in the national parks of Botswana and Zambia. It’s been a dream of ours, to see elephants and other incredible creatures in the wild.
One evening, during golden hour, we were bobbing with our guide on the banks of the Zambezi river while a herd of elephants swam-stepped across the water in front of us — using their trunks as snorkels — before they clambered onto the shore, rising mud-slicked behemoths. A crocodile lazed in a sunny spot a few feet away from us, its mouth disconcertingly open to regulate its body heat. And in the distance, on a stretch of grasslands only revealed during the low season, hippos and their babies lumbered lazily in the setting sun while a gust of birds in every color streamed by overhead. I’d probably never seen anything so beautiful in my life. Perhaps I never will again.
But our moment of rapture came at a cost. We’d taken jumbo jets for nearly 24 hours to reach the continent, then a car, a ferry, and a terrifying little biplane to bury ourselves this deep in the wild. Our massive carbon footprints trailed along behind us like a shameful veil.
That night, sleeping in a tent on a raised platform in the woods, we woke to the sound of something inconceivably huge moving just beyond our tented walls in the darkness. Tree boughs snapped; the platform beneath our bed shifted. We went still and held each other while my heart rattled around in my ribcage. At the time, I was petrified, but in the morning, when we poked around outside for evidence of what turned out to be an elephant or a rhinoceros getting comfortable for its few hours of sleep right beside us, I felt humbled and awed. Nothing else has better reminded me that I share the earth with giants.
Lujan v. Defenders of Wildlife was on my mind again when I was watching Our Planet. Nature documentaries in general bestow a precious knowledge, which is that all around the world, every single day, remarkable things are happening. And documentaries give us these reminders without actually having to go and see for ourselves. I love to travel, but I also have to come to terms with the fact that my lifestyle isn’t compatible with sustaining life on earth. In a future where (hopefully) carbon taxes make air travel more costly and difficult, I’ll be grateful for the existence of programs that can give me a decent, high-definition dose of reverence without the high environmental price tag attached.
I remember being particularly tickled by the flamingos in 2016’s Planet Earth II, which (like Our Planet) was narrated by Attenborough, whose soothing British accent has accompanied many of the most stunning nature documentaries ever made. Thousands of feet high in the Andes mountains, a huge flock of flamingos takes shelter in a remote lake that freezes overnight, trapping them there by their long legs. In the morning, warmed by the sun, the birds slowly defrost and break themselves free of the melting ice, after which they march in a giant goofy group back and forth across the water, in a mating march intended to get them all “in the mood.”
It fascinates and delights me to think that as I’m puttering around New York City, each day filled with the small joys and dumb frustrations of my ordinary life, there’s this wild group of flamingos being constantly frozen and unfrozen in a remote corner of the planet, surviving in a comically inhospitable climate. I find it soothing, these windows into the goings-on of a diverse range of extraordinary animals, all of them ignorant and uncaring of our silly human foibles.
Of course, the natural world isn’t all sunshine and roses, and hasn’t been for a long time. Nature documentaries in particular have allowed us access to our planet’s natural wonders without forcing us to reckon with the fact that human actions — particularly the actions of humans in the industrialized world — are contributing to the quickening death and destruction of these wonders. (You wouldn’t know it from Planet Earth II, but those Andean flamingos are currently listed as a vulnerable species.) Our Planet, finally, aims to correct that legacy.
“I find it hard to exaggerate the peril,” the 92-year-old Attenborough recently said. “This is the new extinction and we are halfway through it. We are in terrible, terrible trouble and the longer we wait to do something about it the worse it is going to get.”
But what’s one little human on this giant earth supposed to do? Even scientists are divided on questions about personal responsibility in the face of climate change. Having fewer children, cutting down on car and air travel, and abstaining from meat won’t really change all that much on a global scale — but making these choices can also be a way to cope, to inspire hopefulness, to feel like you’re making the world the tiniest bit of a better place. I can’t say I’m going to stop traveling to visit some of the earth’s most beautiful places while there’s still time — how much, really, would that help? — but I can say I’ll vote to make those trips as difficult and costly as possible, so that they’ll become as rare and as precious as they should be.
In an excellent recent story for the New Yorker about “the other kind of climate denialism,” Rachel Riederer spoke with a number of environmental scientists, psychologists, and reporters about how to inspire action in a public that has generally moved from one unhelpful extreme to the other: “uncertainty and denial” about climate change to “similarly paralyzing feelings of panic, anxiety, and resignation.” Some experts, like the conservation psychologist John Fraser, believes in going beyond terrorizing people with tales of disaster: “What we need to promote is hope,” he says. “The first step to a healthy response is feeling that the problem is solvable.” Margaret Klein Salamon, a clinical psychologist and founder of a climate advocacy organization, believes the opposite — that fear can help inspire people to take action. “It’s important to feel afraid of things that will kill us — that is healthy and good,” she says.
Lately I’ve been energized by the prospect of the 2020 primaries; incredibly early as we still are in the process, I believe that political and community action, not just at the federal level but all the way down to the local level, are our best chance at survival. I send long, rambling emails and texts to my relatives who, I worry, aren’t quite freaked out enough yet. I write and share articles like this one.
I’ve also been trying to hold competing stories in my head at once. I refuse to look away from scenes of climate destruction and terror. But I’ve not yet allowed myself to let go of the overwhelming feelings of peace and calm that can wash over me when I experience or even just think about the pockets of the earth still bursting, against humanity’s best efforts, with liveliness and splendor.
I think, often, of Mary Oliver’s famous poem “Wild Geese,” in which she assures us that we don’t have to be good: “Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting — over and over announcing your place in the family of things.” It’s a lovely comfort, despite everything that has happened, everything that will happen: to be but a speck in a teeming ecosystem, just one among many in the family of things, all of us just doing our best. All of us just trying to survive. ●

Should You Install Home Automation Products Yourself?
By Justin Schwartz, Founder and CEO of SAGE AV
Thanks to fairly low costs and easy installation, entry-level home automation products are now available to almost everyone. While these products are ideally suited for the DIYer, there are  also a wide assortment of more advanced home automation systems that homeowners should have professionally installed. The challenge for homeowners is deciding when to DIY and when to hire the help of a professional.
Here’s a look at DIY technology versus what should be professionally installed to help you make the right choice.
Easy DIY Tech Upgrades
For homeowners who are dipping their toes into smart home technology for the first time, there are plenty of affordable products, like those listed below, that can be installed with the assistance of a professional installer:
Nest
The Nest line of products includes thermostats, security cameras and more. The Nest programmable thermostat connects to your home Wi-Fi and allows you to change the temperature in your home remotely via an app on your smartphone. Additionally, the Nest thermostat will identify your preferences and anticipate your temperature needs. The system also has a security option, which allows you to set up and monitor cameras inside and outside of your home. All of these cameras can also be accessed on your smartphone. Nest products are all fairly simple to set up and connect, some in 30 minutes or less.
  Ring Doorbell
Ring is a standard looking doorbell that can be placed just outside your front door.  It puts an end to second-guessing who’s at the door. It has a camera and microphone built in so you can use your phone or another device to see and talk to whoever’s ringing, even if you’re miles from home. The Ring doorbell offers plenty of technical support in the box and online, so installation should not be hard for the average DIYer. All one needs to do is line up the mounting bracket, drill holes, place the doorbell on the mounting bracket, and tightens the security screws.
  Sonos Play
Sonos is a wireless speaker system for your smart home that you can control from an app on your smartphone or tablet. Sonos Play:1 or Play:5 speakers require only an electrical outlet and a Wi-Fi connection. A threaded mount allows you to put it on the wall or a speaker stand if you wish. You can pair either speaker with an Echo or Dot and play and control songs, shuffle playlists, and tune in radio stations or podcasts.
  The Problem with DIY
Most homeowners who take a DIY approach tend to choose technology for single-device control instead of whole home automation. When problems arise, DIYers are relegated to phone or online customer service options to diagnose and fix problems. This can be a frustrating and time-consuming experience.
  Why Use a Professional?
As mentioned above, there are certain smart home appliances that just need to be plugged to work and can be easily set up by DIYers. But, if you want your technology upgrades to start working together, things get a bit more complex. To start with, you’ll need to ensure all items you purchase are compatible with one another. When designing your system, you must plan not only for your current needs but for any additional upgrades you might want to make in the future.  Professionals keep up with the latest trends and can help you create the best smart home environment for today and far into the future.
Also, as a homeowner, you have many options and may not be aware of them. This is where a professional comes in handy. A home systems professional can evaluate your lifestyle and explain the best options that deliver what you need within your desired budget.
The following smart home technologies should be set up by a professional:
Lighting Control Systems
It’s now possible to automate every light in your entire home and unify them behind a single, easy-to-use lighting control system.  A professionally installed system will give you control over all of the lighting in your home. This includes table lamps, desk lamps, ceiling lamps as well as ceiling fans. The system will allow you to remotely access and have control over the lighting with a small remote control device or an integrated wall system. You can program motion detectors to identify when you walk into the room, turning on the lights and then after a time you have specified, they will also turn off or dim the lights.
You can also combine other smart lighting devices to create an array of effects. From colored accent lights to bedroom lamps that can wake you up by simulating the sunrise, your possibilities are virtually endless.
  Motorized Shades and Window Treatments
When it comes to smart window shades and treatments, customization is key. A professional can help you choose the perfect system that marries both style and function. The best motorized shades and window treatments allow you to schedule adjustments at certain times or adjust them using just the touch of a button, voice command or your smartphone.
Distributed Audio Systems
A properly designed and installed audio system allows you to broadcast sound throughout the entire house, creating the perfect balance from room to room. Setting up a distributed audio system is no small task. It goes far beyond simply plugging in a few wireless speakers.
In fact, designing a great system requires the skill and knowledge to combine the proper speakers, receivers, amplifiers, and other components while taking into account the dynamics of each individual room as well as the vast design experience and deep product knowledge.
  Unified Apps and Integrated Controls
With all of these different types of smart home devices, you will need a way to control them. Remember the frustrating days of multiple remotes? Today, home automation systems integrate various subsystems into unified apps and interfaces that bring you complete connectivity and control for every smart device.
  DIY or Professionals?
The goal of any smart home installation is to make various devices work seamlessly together.   This is where DIY tends to fall short. In order to fully experience the benefits a smart home can offer, it’s best to work with a professional who can coordinate with your contractor, interior designer, and electrician. They will work with you to design a system that meets your needs, using their knowledge of the latest smart technology for the home. By outsourcing this task, you’ll have the peace of mind in knowing your system is set up for optimal power, performance, and reliability.

How to Pick a Probiotic
Picking a probiotic
Find out if you need a probiotic and how to pick the right one for your health
One of the reasons our gut has so much influence over our health has to do with the 100 trillion bacteria—about three pounds worth—that line the intestinal tract. We actually have quite the symbiotic relationship with these bacterial power-houses, we give them a place to live and they help keep us alive.
It isn’t exactly novel news that we are more bacteria than we are human, in fact there is a 10 to 1 ratio of bacteria to cells in our body, meaning that the human gut contains 10 times more bacteria than all the human cells in the body.
People are beginning to really to pay attention to acquiring proper gut flora, as it influences everything from hormone secretions, immune health (80 percent of our immune system is in our gut) mood elevation (90 percent of serotonin is produced in the gut), metabolism and weight management, nutrient absorption, gene expression (our microbiome has 360 times more protein coding DNA than we do) and gastrointestinal function.
Dys-regulated gut flora has been linked to diseases ranging from autism and depression to IBS, and even type 1 diabetes.
To Each Their Own
While personalized nutrition has become a bit of a health trend, personalized probiotics can easily fall under the umbrella of customized health. Curating our personal nutrition, supplement and dietary needs is far less trending and much more omnipresent than ever before, and for good reason!
Current research is finding that each person’s bacterial profile is as unique as our individual DNA. We have about 1,000 different species of bacteria found in the human gut and each person has a unique combination of between 250-500 of these! We have roughly 1/3 shared bacteria between us, while the other 2/3 of bacteria is unique to the individual … you can imagine this makes picking a probiotic a daunting task at times.
The number and type of bacteria a person has can have an impact not only our health, but also our mood, attention and behavior. The type of bacteria we have can determine if we are lean or obese, how often and how severely we get sick, our skin health and even occurrences of allergies. Currently more than 100 million Americans have digestive problems, and there are more than 200 over-the-counter remedies for digestive disorders which include everything from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, diarrhea, reflux and heartburn.
Who Might Need a Probiotic
Who needs to take probiotics? To put it lightly, mostly everyone! As we age our good bacteria population begins to decline, women have higher needs for certain strains of probiotics such as Lactobaccilus to support vaginal health, antibiotic use, lack of dietary fiber, smoking, stressed pregnancies, early deliveries, C-section deliveries and even formula feeding have all been shown to lower good bacteria diversity.
Changes that occur in the intestinal microflora can be alerted by the dysbosis or misbalance between good and bad bacteria. A disruption in having an optimal balance of bacteria in the gut can be caused by factors such as diet (including excessive sugars and refined carbohydrates, non-organic produce, factory-farmed animal sources and poor fiber intake), intestinal function (secretion of hormones and mobility of nutrients), lifestyle factors such as sleep and stress management and abnormal conditions related to the intestines (such as infection, inflammation, bacterial overgrowth) and medications (such as anti-acids and antibiotics).
Do I Need a Probiotic?
If you answer YES to three or more of these questions than you would likely benefit from supplementing with a probiotic. • Do I have digestive problems? • Do I have trouble concentrating? • Do I feel unnecessarily stressed out? • Do I have trouble losing weight and keeping it off? • Do I come down with colds or allergies frequently? • Do I eat a diet high in sugar, processed foods, refined carbohydrates? • Have I recently taken antibiotics? • Am I having trouble sleeping? • Do I take birth control pills or NSAIDS?
Be Picky
Multi-strain or single strain? Refrigerated or non-refrigerated? Buying a probiotic can be confusing since there are so many different brands, strands, species and forms of this super star supplement. Certain probiotics require refrigeration, while others are shelf-stable, some are found in a capsule form, while others are in a powder, some are multi-strain, while others are single strain, and to make it even more confusing some have added pre-biotics and digestive enzymes.
Factors such as your health needs and goals, as well as your current diet and lifestyle, assessing how damaged your microbiome is and depending on the condition you are trying to combat can all play a role in picking the right probiotic for you.
Team Work Makes the Dream Work … A Case for Multi-Strain
It’s not the total number of bacteria in a product that is most important, it’s the number of different strains of bacteria it includes. It is important to note that different strains of probiotic bacteria have slightly different functions and are concentrated in various places along the digestive tract. Different strains of probiotics can be better for different people and often times you might have to try out a few brands or mixed strains to see what works best for you. A good strain for one person might not be the best strain for another person.
A probiotic supplement that contain multiple strains tends to be more effective for overall health, rather than a product that contains a mega dosing of just one strain; this has to due largely with the fact that many strains work synergistically to enhance health.
Mixed probiotics containing lactobacilli and bifidobacteraia are a great starting point because they work together to promote healthy levels of inflammation in the intestines, support normal GI function, stimulate immune development in children and support concentration and focus.
Lactobacillus species can ferment carbs in the gut, which produce lactic acid. This is also the speicies that inhabits mostly in your small intestines. Lactic acid creates an acidic environment in digestive tract which doesn’t allow the growth of pathogenic microorganism that enjoy living in an alkaline environment. This strain is also important for healthy immune function, weight management and supporting a healthy vaginal microbiome.
Bifiodobacterium inhabit mostly in the large intestines (colon) and play a role in preventing the growth of harmful bacteria, as well as yeast. As we age the number of bifidobacterium that line the large intestinal wall begins to decline. This strain is important for supporting the production of vitamins B and K, supporting healthy digestion and bowel health as well as supporting the body’s detoxification system.
So Which Is Best?
Whichever you will take every day!
Capsules can be found both on the shelves (freeze-dried organisms) or in the refrigerated section and can be great for someone who travels often or forgets to go into their fridge every day to look for their supplements. Powders are a great option for the entire family. You can incorporate them into all kinds of things … yogurt, applesauce, smoothies, dog food, etc., and they are often shelf stable. Powdered probiotic bacteria can maintain their cell count by about 90 to 95 percent for six months to one year when they are packaged and about one to three months after they have been opened.
Depending on how damaged your gut currently is and if you are new to probiotics, start off slowly. There is actually a “die off stage” that happens as your body is getting rid of some of the pathogenic bacteria, which might cause you to actually bloat and pass gas. Start with 5 to 15 billion CFUs and work your way up to 50 billion CFUs as a maintenance phase. Bacteria are also extremely sensitive to heat, light and oxygen, so buying a probiotic with not only mixed strains (which can help keep other strains alive as certain strains are naturally compatible with other strains) look for a brand that has added digestive enzymes and pre-biotics, as these can help protect the probiotics from dying off.
Pre-biotics feed the probiotics, as well as provide a stable medium for the bacteria which will allow them to replace themselves if they find themselves in less than favorable environment (not a cool, dry place, not in a dark glass bottle etc). Digestive enzymes can help protect the bacteria from the harsh acidic environment and conditions of the stomach, which will allow them to make their way to the finish line, which is ultimately your gut!
Extra Credit
Be sure to store your probiotics in a cool dry place, ideally around 70 degrees. At 70 degrees Fahrenheit, probiotic viability decreases 10 to 15 percent per month. While if stored at above 80 degress Fahrenheit, the loss is more than doubled! Oxygen and light can cause the bacteria to go rancid and moisture can start the process of degradation of the bacteria.

While if stored at above 80˚Farenheit, the loss is more than doubled! Oxygen and light can cause the bacteria to go rancid and moisture can start the process of degradation of the bacteria.
