it’s raining today and I was waiting for the bus home from the plasma center. I was wearing short sleeves with a sweater over it, no jacket, bc that’s easier for donating plasma

and it just occurred to me I should have been cold. I should not be able to wait for the bus in December in a t shirt and light sweater. i shouldn’t be able to take out the trash at work in my short-sleeved uniform in December and be fine. it shouldn’t be RAINING in DECEMBER in the NORTHERN US

I was at Walmart with my daughter yesterday and saw a guy with full on silver hair wearing a Blink182 t-shirt and I just. Reality really punches you in the face like that.

sitting in the library half watching a lecture half reading a magazine and a line of 5 yr olds in school uniforms came by and came to a stop as their teacher counted everyone and prepped to leave. immediately a group of them surrounded me and within 30 seconds a little boy tapped some paper on my head with printed colour in sheets and claimed he'd drawn them and i said he was very good artist. a little girl asked to play the flute for me and mimicked it with her hands while making noises and i told her she was very good, 3 more started oohing and aahing at the sewing pattern i was looking at in my magazine, one got excited that i pointed out how cool it was that she got so many books out and her friend sadly lamented that she didnt have a library card and couldnt get anything before i managed to corral them into following their teacher who was beginning to walk the kids towards the exit of the building

Well my great grandmother died the day before yesterday and while I'm not, like, happy about it, I didn't know her so I'm not like sad either. But I'm going to the visitation and funeral because I'm expected to and I will be there for my dad, who actually did know and care about her. I only hope we don't have a repeat of what happened when my great uncle died, i.e, me gazing emotionlessly at the corpse of a person I neither knew nor particularly cared about whilst my aunt melodramaticly urges me to "let go" of the grief under which she mistakenly believes I am laboring

thanks to my background in competitive cheerleader and a series of godawful jobs i am aware actually that i can produce quite impressive results on surprisingly little sleep. that being said i'm really a 10-11 hours of sleep per day kind of person, ideally. minimum of eight i guess
