Hey Critters!

So, you may recognize these doodles, as I've been live doodling since the first campaign, and doing what side games and one-shots I'm able to do ^_^ I really love doing the doodles, and I hope ya'll are enjoying them too!

I'm reaching out b/c Work is getting tricky as my wife was fired from her job (along with her coworkers last year) b/c her boss got greedy (the union is currently suing him, but we're not looking to get much recompense even if we win probably), and her covid really disabled her so she's not likely to be able to get much new work. Additionally, our kiddo needs a lot of one-on-one support, so her being a stay at home mom is really something he needs at least in these first years of his life. So I'll be the sole earner for the foreseeable future, and I bet you can imagine how tough living off of comics and freelance is lol XD (for a family of 3 humans, 4 rescue cats +1 outside we're caring for best we can, and a number of hefty bills to pay ^_^;;)

So, if you enjoy my doodles (and perhaps even my other work) and want to throw some support my way, a couple bucks a month goes farther than you'd think! Or if that's not an option, shopping in my stores is great too, or even the free option of boosting my work whenever you see it, tell your friends about my comics (word of mouth is LITERALLY what works through this social media algo garbage that's hitting), etc and so on!

i will preface this with that im aware that it doesn't actually matter gdjgfkh but im still so bewildered by how many different ways people come up with to mix up kon's two names instead of just using them as two names, even though they DO use two separate names for clark. like people are out here going kon el kent, or kon kent, or most egregiously konner kent but i have never once seen kal kent, kal el kent, or... kalark kent? what's up with all that.

Something I think is very funny is that Ice King, Marcy and Bubblegum have been in each other's orbit for centuries before the main series. Early Marcy, hurt and isolated, I don't think would talk to or about Ice King all that much. I think she just straight up avoided him as much as she could. But she did date Bubbleum pre-series for a while and probably was at least a little emotionally vulnerable.

So I think she mentioned Simon, off handedly, like he wasn't once the most important person in her life. So imagine you're Bubblegum and your notoriously free wheeling, punk rock gf starts talking about this Simon dude. How he saved her from the wasteland, raised her, loved her as a dad and then left without explanation. This... doesn't sound like a real thing that happened. Bubblegum definitely files all Simon stories under "Things Marcy For Sure Made Up."

Now a couple of centuries pass and you learn, all in quite a rush, that not only was Marcy's "Simon" actually real but he's alive, here right now and has been the annoying Ice Wizard that has been kidnapping you for hundreds of years. I think I might lose my mind a little.

i dont have this as a coherent argument but there's something about bbc ghosts that is just so much more. genuine? than the american one. and I only watched like 2 episodes of the cbs one but still. to me i think it suffered from that marvel-ification "he's behind me isnt he?" wink wonk cheesy like. exaggeration in a way that wasnt purposeful or sincere. the whole everyone is beautiful and no one is horny situation. whereas in bbc ghosts the whole show is a little bit rough around the edges and ugly and imperfect in a way that makes it infinitely more endearing. I'd rather watch a theater production where someone occasionally misses a cue but the people care and have something to say, rather than a perfectly airbrushed and photoshopped one that talks a lot and says nothing. yknow?

ooh ooh ooh! i assume this is based on the headcannons that nikki and i made about the croc-skink friendships - well, i'm very happy to elaborate!! :D

to set the scene: in canon during scar's reign over the outlanders, kiburi's mainly the one who talks to the skinks, but he doesn't care for them more than being told news of course. things change when scar is defeated and jasiri becomes leader; kiburi's float and the skinks no longer have any link, at least not until the skinks slowly reform along with kiburi's float because of jasiri's efforts (which include enticing the skinks to stay in the outlands, as they weren't sure whether to stay or go). as before, the skinks like to slink around the outlands so they come across kiburi's float eventually

njano is pretty outgoing so i can imagine him just showing up out of nowhere and chatting to kiburi at his watering hole! njano doesn't leave him alone after that lmao, he becomes kind of like his little messenger but kiburi grows to see a friend in him more than he'll admit :3

nyororo is looking for someone to trick for fun when she happens to hear tamka in the middle of practicing acting. she cringes at how bad he is at it first, then gives herself the challenge to at least make him a little more convincing. tamka is probably a bit sceptical at first, but he loves acting so he finds it fun! they have a loose mentor and student sorta friendship but they have fun talking about the best ways to fool other animals! in a human au, nyororo would be the best of her drama class and takes tamka under her wing

i- kinda forgot what exactly me and nikki came up with for nyata and nduli's friendship BUT i do imagine nyata also overhearing the crocs, specifically nduli being all sassy when the crocs chase out a trespasser or smth. she finds his attitude amusing, reminds her of herself, so she chats to him. i can't remember exactly what they bond over but, kinda like nyororo and tamka, nyata encourages nduli's sassier side :]

nyeusi and neema like to watch the drama of the outlands from the sidelines, and that's exactly how they meet. neither of them ‘talk’ but they pick up what each other are saying, and they're both aroace, so they become friends pretty quick! in a human au, they'd be the ones watching the chaos with a bag of popcorn lol - also i just wanna add that i hc nne and tano being friends with neema so they're friends with nyeusi by proxy, despite janja and the skinks' rocky relationship. they don't really care about it bc they just like to watch the drama together, even if it's between their leaders lol
